2023.04.01 09:19 StepwiseUndrape574 Why Rockstar Is Banning Anyone From Talking About GTA 6 On Twitch

In February, Rockstar confirmed that development of Grand Theft Auto VI is well underway. In July, the TakeTwo subsidiary publicized that it would no longer work on Red Dead Redemption 2 or its online offering to focus on the development of the next title in the mega-popular GTA series. Despite this, talking about the next installment in the 25-year-old franchise is discouraged, at least on the official Twitch channel of Rockstar Games. This follows behavior the company started exhibiting on YouTube as well.
When users attempt to type GTA VI or GTA 6, they are greeted with the message that appears when a banned word or filter is applied on Twitch channels – "Your message wasn't posted due to conflicts with the channel's moderation settings." Publishers hushing people on their own platforms about titles is nothing new. Wild speculation can often draw attention to things the developers may not wish to reveal or may not have information about yet.
twitch chat no gta vi Screen Capture of Rockstar Twitch Chat Censoring GTA VI
Grand Theft Auto VI is not expected to be available until sometime in 2024. The belief right now is that Rockstar wants to focus marketing on the Grand Theft Auto Online portion of their business. GTA Online has shown a regular player base and persistent earnings for the company. There's potential for a loss of funds if people's focus is shifted away from what is currently earning them money.
There is very little known about the new title. Some people have ventured guesses that we may see a return to Vice City, the fictional city based on southern Florida cities in the United States. As of right now, the only information anyone has from Rockstar for sure is that it is being worked on. Anything else is most likely speculation.

There are also concerns that Rockstar employees are not necessarily staying on very long right now. This follows some trends that have been occurring recently in the game development world. Poor worker treatment at Activision-Blizzard led to employees at one of its subsidiaries forming a union. Hopefully things remain stable enough at Rockstar and TakeTwo for GTA VI to arrive on time, though.

2023.04.01 09:14 StepwiseUndrape574 GTA 6 Could Gain This Next-Gen Intelligent NPC Technology From Rockstar

A newly discovered patent by Take-Two Interactive hints that Grand Theft Auto VI will have smarter non-playable characters (NPCs), which has our minds swirling with possibilities. Rather than following programmed directives, NPCs that leverage advanced artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities could potentially feel like more life-like, in the decisions they make in the game.
We might be getting ahead of ourselves a bit—we have no idea what exactly Take-Two and its Rockstar Games subsidiary have planned for the next GTA installment, and to be clear, GTA VI has not been announced—but we would certainly welcome smarter NPCs. Not just for the GTA series, but for gaming in general.
The patent (listed as 16/393365) was filed in October of last year, by inventors David Hynd and Simon Parr. According to their LinkedIn profiles, both work for Rockstar Games—Hynd is the associate director of technology and technical director of AI and gameplay, while Parr is the lead AI and gameplay programmer. So even though Take-Two Interactive owns the patent, it seems the technology is destined for a Rocktar Games title.
"Computer games often provide 3D worlds in which the game unfolds. Such games often include non-player characters (NPCs) that exist in the game's 3D world and who interact with the human players, the 3D environment and other NPCs. These NPCs can be programmed in an artificial intelligence manor such that their actions in the game are driven, at least in part, by real-time decisions made by the NPC algorithm regarding the current state of the game and the environment," the patent explains.
It goes on to state that this type of interaction is driven by a collection of nodes and edges (vehicles and links), and that "conventional systems only provide limited resources" for developers. As it applies to the GTA franchises, this is likely why NPCs all seem to drive and navigate the world in the same manner, with only visual cues distinguishing them from one another.
"Since currently-available multiplayer gaming systems are deficient because they cannot provide realistic movements for non-player objects in a virtual world without increasing computational resources and/or restricting game development/design, a system for managing nodes and node graphs relating to non-player characters that provides virtual navigation and management can prove desirable and provide a basis for a wide range of network applications, such as creating a realistic virtual world that is not limited by hardware and software limitations," the patent states.
Part of the patent involves tapping into the cloud to overcome local hardware capabilities, for advanced AI processing. And from our reading, it sounds like the patent would result in NPCs have more individualized personalities, at least with regards to traveling about.
We'll have to wait and see what develops, and hopefully Rockstar Games sees fit to announce a new GTA game soon.

2023.04.01 09:11 Dramatic-Step-5037 [Breeds] Greyhound in small apartment with cat?

Introduction:
I’m a female in my late-20s who is finally ready to make the big commitment to own a dog! I currently live in a 700sqft apartment, so I’m looking into breeds that are comfortable with that lifestyle! Importantly, I also own a cat!
  1. Will this be your first dog? If not, what experience do you have owning/training dogs.
This will be my first dog! I had dogs with my family growing up (golden retriever), and I learned basic training and dog behavior but I have a lot more to learn! A breed that is good for beginners is essential. :)
  1. Do you have a preference for rescuing a dog vs. going through a reputable breeder?
I would prefer adoption but would consider buying from a breeder as a last resort.
  1. Describe your ideal dog.
Because of my small apartment, my ideal dog would be low-energy the majority of the day and would be satisfied with a daily hour-long walk. I would like an friendly companion who loves to be around me, but retains some independence. I prefer infrequent barking to not annoy neighbors. I spend most of my time at home so a dog who likes to snuggle beside me would be lovely. I love running and am hoping for a companion of short runs but not required.
  1. What breeds or types of dogs are you interested in and why?
Greyhounds - I heard they adapt to apartment life due to their low energy levels, and are also infrequent barkers and rarely shed! I would love to welcome a retired racer into my home, but I also know there are many new and scary things for the greyhound, and there may be a difficult adjustment.
I’ve also looked into smaller breeds such as the Pekingese or pugs and would be open to more suggestions!
  1. What sorts of things would you like to train your dog to do?
I want to teach obedience such as sit, stay, and come.
  1. Do you want to compete with your dog in a sport (e.g. agility, obedience, rally) or use your dog for a form of work (e.g. hunting, herding, livestock guarding)? If so, how much experience do you have with this work/sport?
Nope!
Care Commitments
  1. How long do you want to devote to training, playing with, or otherwise interacting with your dog each day?
I want to spend the majority of my day with my dog and integrate him or her into my family!
8) How long can you exercise your dog each day, on average? What sorts of exercise are you planning to give your dog regularly and does that include using a dog park?
I am a fairly active person. I plan for at least two walks a day, 30 minutes each. I live near a dog park and would love to visit !
  1. How much regular brushing are you willing to do? Are you open to trimming hair, cleaning ears, or doing other grooming at home? If not, would you be willing to pay a professional to do it regularly?
Ideally, I would prefer a dog that requires lower maintenance to keep grooming costs low.
Personal Preferences
  1. What size dog are you looking for?
Any size.
  1. How much shedding, barking, and slobber can you handle?
I would like to avoid as much barking and shedding as possible because of my apartment lifestyle.
  1. How important is being able to let your dog off-leash in an unfenced area?
Not important.
Dog Personality and Behavior
  1. Do you want a snuggly dog or one that prefers some personal space?
Snuggly but also needs time to be alone!
14) Would you prefer a dog that wants to do its own thing or one that’s more eager-to-please?
Eager to please.
  1. How would you prefer your dog to respond to someone knocking on the door or entering your yard? How would you prefer your dog to greet strangers or visitors?
Alert, curious, but decently quiet. I would prefer a dog that is friendly or accepting of visitors.
  1. Are you willing to manage a dog that is aggressive to other dogs?
I want to avoid this if possible.
  1. Are there any other behaviors you can’t deal with or want to avoid?
Human aggression and separation anxiety.
Lifestyle
  1. How often and how long will the dog be left alone?
My dog will be alone for a maximum of four hours on weekdays due to work. I also can come home during my lunch break for an hour to relieve the dog.
  1. What are the dog-related preferences of other people in the house and what will be their involvement in caring for the dog?
Affectionate, goofy. My BF and I will be sharing responsibility.
20) Do you have other pets or are you planning on having other pets? What breed or type of animal are they?
Cat that is 1yo.
21) Will the dog be interacting with children regularly?
No.
22) Do you rent or plan to rent in the future? If applicable, what breed or weight restrictions are on your current lease?
We are living in an apartment that allows pets but restricts the usual breeds such as Dobermans and lit bulls.
23) What city or country do you live in and are you aware of any laws banning certain breeds?
We live in So Cal with no banned breeds.
24) What is the average temperature of a typical summer and winter day where you live?
Hot in the summers and cool and rainy in the winter.
Thank you so much for your suggestions and input!

skin type: combination/oily. acne and eczema prone
climate: hot and dry. lots of sun
age: 21
usage timeline: 2 days
current routine(only for face):
am: cetaphil gentle cleanser, eucerin oil control spf 50+, qurez mattifying sunscreen spf50
pm: bioderma atoderm shower oil/garnier micellar water (oil in water type), tazarotene cream 0.1%, emolene+venusia max lotion mixed together, vaseline around the eyes and on the lips.
reviews:
swiss beauty bake it away translucent loose powder:
most sunscreens look rly shiny on my oily skin so i usually pat some powder with a beauty blender on my face to avoid the comments from ppl lol. i’m on the fence w this one tbh. before this i was using the kay beauty one which i really liked.
i bought this bc it’s quite cheap and a lot of powder. it’s not bad it doesn’t leave much of a cast keeps my face shine free for a few hours but it does settle into my eyelid creases and around my mouth. it also has a slight grainy texture i think the particles arent as fine as the kay beauty one i think i’ll try applying with my fingers or a powder puff and applying slightly less and see if behaves any different.
3/5 not decided if i’ll repurchase or not but i will use it until it runs out
ingredients: Talc, Aluminum Starch Octenylsuccinate,Methylparaben ,Propylparaben , CI 77891,CI 77491, CI 77492, CI1940
reequil ultra matte dry touch sunscreen gel:
everyone and their mother on this subreddit loves this sunscreen so i finally decided to try it out when i saw it was 15% off on nykaa. i totally get what the hype is about omg this rly is matte!! usually i apply sunscreen on bare skin after cleansing but with this i do find it’s better w a moisturizer underneath (emolene).
the texture is very nice and spreadable but bc of the amount of oil absorbing particles in it it leaves like a slight cast almost like i’ve applied powder and not blended it out fully. it goes away after fifteen ish mins and it’s only really visible to me my family didn’t really notice anything off so i’m calling it a win. only con is it pilled a bit on reapplication.
5/5 wrp
ingredients: Cyclopentasiloxane and Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Caprylyl Methicone and PEG-10 Dimethicone/ PPG-20 Crosspolymer, Octinoxate, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate, Diethylhexyl Butamido Triazone, Caprylyl Methicone, Zinc Oxide, Titanium Dioxide, Bis Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine, Caprylic Capric Triglyceride, Physalis Angulata Extract, Diethylhexyl Syringylidenemalonate, Fragrance
lukewarm sunscreen:
id seen ads for this sunscreen for a while and wasn’t sure about it since it’s not a very well known brand but i’m glad i tried it. i ended up buying it bc i was curious about it. it’s a similar price point to reequil blue for a 100 ml tube and id never tried a sunscreen with tinosorb m.
it has both mineral and organic filters and surprisingly no whitecast so i assume the mineral filters are minimal compared to the chemical ones. good protection super easy to spread really moisturizing and not very shiny. smells faintly like carrots. not matte like the reequil one but it’s acceptable imo pretty natural finish. no pilling. cons are it takes like five to ten mins to dry down fully and they haven’t posted any kind of lab testing results (independent or not) to confirm the spf and pa value so i think i will only use this when i am indoors or going outside late afternoon/evening after 5 pm when the uv index isn’t that high. but i might give it a chance during the afternoons and see if it works or not. i’m also thinking of using it as a moisturizer underneath the reequil blue one.
4/5 wrp
ingredients: Tinosorb® M, Stearic Acid, Carrot Seed Extract, Raspberry Seed Extract, Cyclopentasiloxane, Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Oxide, Cetyl Alcohol, Octyl Methoxycinnamate, Triethanolamine Acetate, Carboxymethylcellulose, DMDM Hydantoin, Emulsifying Wax, Acrylate Cross Polymer C10-30, Methylparaben Sodium, Propylparaben Sodium, Glycerine, Demineralised Water, Fragrance & Permitted Colour
none of these appeared to irritate my acne or eczema( i usually know by the first one or two usages if a product worked for me or not). i was too lazy to patch test so i didnt do it but pls patch test before using new things dont be like me lol i was impatient.
thanks for reading!!

2023.04.01 08:58 lurkmcgirt Question regarding GM Mode

Hey Guys,
Quick question regarding GM mode that i haven’t found an answer to so far, the situation is as follows
Player 1 comes 1st in the 1st season taking his total HOF Trophy count to 3
Player 2 currently has 2 HOF trophy’s
In the following season’s the majority, if not all of the trophies are obtainable by both Player controlled GM’s at roughly the exact same time so the player who won the first season has an additional trophy that Player 2 cannot win because no matter his fan count he will always be second
Is there no way for Player 2 to win a season and even out the trophy count?
(Yes I am player 2).
Thanks for any help

2023.04.01 08:57 jonnydub94 Help with first time buying situation

My plan was to buy a house at the end of 2024 giving me and my girlfriend time to save up more money and have the required deposit in a combination of LISA and cash. We have decided however to potentially looking at bringing those plans forward but I just wanted to get advice wether it’s a good idea or not with my financial situation. I work in a role that I can earn a lot of commission pretty quickly so I know I can save around 2k a month from now on but we’ve seen a house that we’d like to buy pretty quickly which doesn’t leave me much time.
I currently have about 8k in an emergency fund, 10k in Lisa (including the bonuses). This leaves me about 6 grand short for the house we are looking for. My girlfriend has some money from her family so she has her 24k.
I have around 6k sat in my stocks and shares Isa which I never thought I’d touch to retire and I make monthly deposits of £400, I’d be pretty gutted to pull that out but what would you do in my situation?
Suppose the two options are don’t buy the dream house right now and I will save my 6k over the next 3 months
Or
Take my stocks and shares money out

2023.04.01 08:45 StepwiseUndrape574 GTA 6 Still AWOL, But Rockstar Announces Big Updates For GTA Online And Red Dead Online

Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) is an elusive beast that has eluded [official] detection for years. The current “big dog” Grand Theft Auto V was first released way back in September 2013, and has been available across two console generations (Xbox 360/PS3 and Xbox One/PS4). It will even be available natively on next-generation Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 consoles, which is quite unprecedented in the gaming realm. So, while Rockstar seems reticent to just letting us wait in agony for any news on GTA 6, it is at least giving us some new updates on its two current hot properties: GTA Online and Red Dead Online.
In the case of the incredibly popular (and highly lucrative) GTA Online, Rockstar says that a big “summer update” is coming for gamers with a “fun mix of diverse” content to partake in. Even more interesting is the fact that the developers indicate that its “biggest update ever” is coming before the end of 2020. That update will include new Heists that will take place in a completely new location, which has definitely piqued our interests.
red dead online As for Red Dead Online, its next big update is actually arriving next week; on July 28th to be exact. Red Dead Online hasn’t exactly been teaming with new content, as the last big update for the online component of Red Dead Redemption 2 dropped way back in December 2019. However, Rockstar is promising a new Frontier Pursuit mode with a focus on “naturalism” and a new battle pass-type component, which is conveniently named Outlaw Pass. Finally, Rockstar says that it has addressed tons of bugs with the game and has taken community feedback to heart with this release, which is definitely appreciated.
In addition to the game updates on the way, Rockstar also took the time to address the well-being of its online communities. “We are also committed to ensuring that our games are fun for everyone and as safe as possible from modders, cheaters, hackers, and those who seek to harass other players,” said the company in its blog post.
“So far this year, we have taken action on hundreds of thousands of players caught violating community rules across both games. Please help us keep our communities safe and fun by reporting any sort of cheating either directly in-game or via our dedicated web reporting tools for both Red Dead Online and GTA Online.”
It's good to see that Rockstar is cracking down on those looking to spoil the fun for everyone, and its methods for “taking out” such offenders is among the best in the industry.

2023.04.01 08:44 StepwiseUndrape574 Rockstar Launches GTA+ Subscription Service With Member Exclusive Benefits But Is It Worth It?

Once upon a time, it was commonplace for online games to have subscription fees. The earliest popular graphical online games, including Ultima Online and EverQuest, all had recurring service fees, as did many games that came after, such as Final Fantasy XI and World of Warcraft.
That model has largely given way to the "freemium" model where the publishers give the game itself away for free, but much of the game's content is locked behind the choice of either extended play times "grinding" for materials, or the option of skipping that grind with a real-money payment.
However, some games have both, and that usually includes the longest-lived and most-successful ones. Sega's ten-year-on Phantasy Star Online 2 is free-to-play, but has extensive cash purchases and also has a "premium" subscription available. In Final Fantasy XIV and the venerable World of Warcraft, the subscription fee is still required despite the presence of a cash shop.
carmeet
Grand Theft Auto Online has a lot of similarities to what we usually think of as qualities of "MMO" games. While it isn't "massively multiplayer" on a local scale—sessions normally include a maximum of 32 players—there are tens of thousands of players online at any given moment. It has named player characters with persistent progress and all of the other things we think of from MMO games: equipment, appearance customization, player housing, difficult multiplayer "raid" events, and so on.
With that context in mind, it probably shouldn't be a surprise that Rockstar is launching a subscription service for GTA Online. It's called GTA+, and it costs $6 a month. Ponying up for the premium subscription earns you a cool $500,000 in the in-game GTA$ currency every month and extra GTA$ on "Shark Cards," as well as exclusive benefits. Here's the list of benefits for the first month: The Principe Deveste Eight — along with a complimentary Hao’s Special Works upgrade for it before it is made available to purchase by the general public — plus the HSW Orange Trip and HSW CMYK Glitch Liveries. The Auto Shop located in La Mesa, introduces an assortment of gameplay updates from Los Santos Tuners. Current Auto Shop owners can relocate to La Mesa at no additional cost. Waived LS Car Meet Membership fees. Current LS Car Meet members with GTA+ will be reimbursed GTA$50,000 during this event period. Yacht owners can upgrade to the Aquarius Super Yacht at no additional cost. The Gussét Frog Tee and Broker Prolaps Basketball Top and Shorts automatically added to your wardrobe. The Conveyor Livery for the Mammoth Avenger, HVY APC, and TM-02 Khanjali. A selection of free paints and emblems for the Auto Shop. 3X GTA$ and RP on Hao’s Special Works Race Series. 2X Car Meet Rep on the Street Race Series. It would be easy to criticize Rockstar for this move because the company has already taken $60 of your money for the game. That's to say nothing of the grind-heavy nature of GTA Online that practically forces players to purchase Shark Cards for in-game currency if they want to make progress at any kind of reasonable rate. There's also the fact that the company is charging money for what is honestly an extremely minor update on the current-generation consoles.
In the interest of fairness, though, we'll note that many players who bought GTA V (including GTA Online) purchased it nearly a decade ago. Just like other major online games, GTA Online has seen years of additional content and improvements through continual updates, and that stuff does cost money to create.
deveste eight The Principe Deveste Eight, one of the rewards for subscribing this month.
If you own GTA V, you don't actually have to pay Rockstar anything to play it for the rest of eternity, so giving players an option to spend a little every month to support continued development is fair. However, the list of benefits, at least for the first month, is pretty weak.
There's another caveat, too: this program is only available to players on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. We've asked Rockstar if GTA+ will be coming to the PC version, and will update this post if we get a response.

2023.04.01 08:42 Longjumping-Race-603 im mono and my partner is poly, my roomates aren’t okay with the relationship and i don’t know if i am either

=warning for vague non sexual bdsm mentions=
hello, this is my first post on reddit. its about to get reallly long and complicated, but i really need some advice about my current kink partner (we’re not dating as i am asexual/aromantic and they are also aromantic. it’s more of a situation-ship where we can try out kink casually, but i will say partner for the sake of simplicity). *names will be changed for privacy
So my partner, NB (recent 20), Mel and I, NB (19), are roommates in college. In total i have 3 roommates and me and mel do not room together. I didn’t think i would ever enter a relationship as i’ve never been interested in anyone. When i got here, Mel introduced me to the whole BDSM world, as i had never heard of it. They knew a lot but had no experience so i agreed to try stuff with them.
Most of it is sensory play and very light stuff. Our other two roommates (that room with each of us respectively) seem to be uncomfortable with the idea. My roommate, let’s call them Rain TransM(20), apparently was interested in trying kink with me as well, but i accidentally rejected them. (they had just begun to catch feelings on me and they saw i wasn’t interested, taking that as a rejection?) Mel also has a squish/non romantic crush on me, but it’s been fine so far as weve been partners. Mel and Rain are also childhood best friends so… yikes.
Rain is upset with the relationship as it reminds them “how lonely they are”, and they’re deeply still upset to see Mel doing stuff with me that they wish they could do. (with me or with anyone else) So far me and Mel only do stuff, when everyone is asleep, in the living room, because the two also share the two rooms it’s the only private place. Again, nothing crazy like sex, very tame, and mostly non sexual, bdsm scenes.
Now our dorm loves communication. We have done well talking through our feelings in the past and it’s gotten us through many road blocks, but when we told them about our relationship, they both said they were uncomfortable with us doing scenes while they slept but they wouldn’t make time for us to do it at any other time. like they won’t stay out later, one said “if you ask me to stay out late, i’ll come home faster out of spite”. now they have past trauma with their friends getting into relationship and they fear we’re gonna break off but i don’t even have any romantic feeling involved so i wouldn’t. i care for all of my roommates deeply and i know they all want me to be happy but i feel like this is all bad signs.
If that wasn’t complicated enough, Mel is hyper sexual and kink is their hyperfixation. They are also Polyamarous while i am monogamous. Being ace/aro (sex neutral) there are some things i simply will not do in the kink world. Also with our current set up we never have the dorm to ourselves so we just.. can’t do a scene ever…I also have off days as an asexual where i am more sex repulsed. All of that is more taxing on them then me. Kink is a fun pass time for me but they need it to relax and not be pent up. Due to all this, they went out seeking another partner, Alex, who they’re currently trying to have a conversation with about doing kink stuff as alex is basically a master. (and also doesn’t live with us so they could leave for an evening and have a place to do kink stuff)
We’ve have many long conversations over 2 years and i thought i would be okay with them being poly but i swear everytime they go over the jealously eats me up inside. I don’t want to hinder them, as it’s their nature, and there’s also literally things i cannot provide in the relationship that they need! I don’t want to be a burden but i get so upset and moody when they even mention Alex. They have told me time and time again that i am a priority and they would drop alex for me if i asked… The problem is i know they would, even to their own mental detriment. I could ask Mel to cut off their arm and they would, that dosent make it right. I don’t want to pull them away from things they need, but i also dont want to feel this way and ruin the vibe.
Mel has a squish on me but i don’t have any feelings for them besides a strong and possessive best-friendship. They went over to Alex’s to talk yesterday, to see if alex was interested in genuinly starting something, and told me this morning they had a update for me on our relationship they wanted to talk about. I told them i didn’t want to hear anything about it right now, i could barely handle them sleeping over at Alex’s house last night. They went to sleep at 1pm and haven’t gotten up from bed. I’m pretty sure i’ve upset them, but knowing them they’re probably more mad at themslef..? I don’t know. this has all been affecting my mental health so bad, i think this is proof it’s not gonna work out.
so yeah, upset and unyielding roomates, on top of an ish mono poly relationship, on top of a weird roomate crush-love triangle. my life is such hell rn
if i can’t be poly, or at least a chill mono, should i just break it off? are my roomates being unjust and rude? are we asking too much for them to stay out a bit longer? is there a chance we could ever work out? do i ask them to go mono with me, despite how it could hurt them in the long run? i just don’t know where to go from here. i just feel like there are no good options.
i intend to live with all these people for the next 2 years of college… ahggg. Rain considered changing roommates to let me and Mel be together. ive also considered just leaving and getting new roommates?? i really don’t want to, i am quite introverted and i like these people. please help. also please don’t be mean, these people are three dimensional and complicated. there’s no villians, just unfortunate circumstances.

2023.04.01 08:38 StepwiseUndrape574 Rockstar Remastering GTA 5 For Xbox And PS5 In Glorious 4K60 With Ray Tracing

Did you imagine when Grand Theft Auto V came out for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in 2013, that we'd be seeing a fresh retail re-release of it nine years later? Much like The Elder Scrolls Part V: Skyrim—which hails from the same era—GTA V has been an enduring success and is about to get its third re-release.
There's no fancy subtitle or name change; Grand Theft Auto V is coming to PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series XS consoles on March 15th. That's not to say it's exactly the same experience, though. The versions for the current-gen consoles support 60 FPS, HDR output, ray-tracing, "improved texture quality," faster loading times, "immersive 3D audio," and support for platform-specific features, like the PS5's DualSense haptics.
gtaonline carwash Specifically, there will be a fidelity mode that targets native 3840×2160 resolution with ray tracing and a 30 FPS cap. (Xbox Series S will use upscaling to hit 4K.) Before you sneer at that, note that console versions of GTA V have always had a 30 FPS cap—until now: the new release's "performance mode" will target 60 FPS with dynamic resolution scaling up to 4K, but without ray tracing.
Most interesting to the majority of gamers will probably be the "Performance RT" mode. This mode, available only on the PS5 and Series X, is basically just performance mode with ray tracing enabled. Most likely, it will simply use a lower dynamic resolution to achieve higher-than-30 FPS while keeping ray tracing features. Depending on the upscaling method Rockstar uses, this mode could still look quite good.
Of course, the whole reason that Grand Theft Auto V is still the sensation that it is lies in its online mode. Rockstar has always talked about Grand Theft Auto Online as if it were an entirely separate game, and that's understandable given the differences in their content. But after the re-release launches, it will in fact be available as an entirely separate game—and it'll be free for the first three months after launch on PS5.
gtaonline fukaru The technical changes to Grand Theft Auto V largely apply here, although there's probably still not going to be any animals in Online. Instead, Rockstar is implementing several content updates for the re-launch. The Los Santos Car Meet expansion is getting an expansion of its own called Hao's Special Works, and a "Career Builder" feature will be available for fresh characters to help them get a foothold in Los Santos' seedy underbelly.
If you're already an accomplished crime boss in GTA V or GTA Online using an older console version, you can transfer your progress to the new systems. For story mode, open the game and go to "Game" in the pause menu, then select "Upload Save Game" to send it to the Rockstar Social Club cloud servers. GTA Online progress will transfer automatically, although Rockstar cautions players that purchased GTA$ won't transfer across platforms (i.e. PlayStation to Xbox, or vice versa.)
You'll be able to start playing the remastered version of GTA V on March 15, with physical copies coming available In April. We asked Rockstar when these changes would be coming to the PC version, but haven't heard back yet. We'll update this story when we do.

2023.04.01 08:38 StepwiseUndrape574 Huge GTA 6 Leak Claims Rockstar’s New RAGE9 Graphics Engine Is Incredible

Besides offering up chaotic open-world action, one thing that Rockstar's games have done ever since Grand Theft Auto III is push the envelope in terms of technology. This is somewhat debatable up to Grand Theft Auto IV, which stunned audiences with its mix of macro-scale simulation and micro-scale detail. GTA V and the newer Red Dead Redemption 2 have continued this tradition, and both are still capable of putting the hurt on modern PCs. That's largely thanks to their forward-looking design that integrates features that contemporary systems weren't really ready for when the released.
gtaonlinerain GTA V can still look startlingly realistic at times.
The thing is, even though it just got a re-release on the current-generation consoles, GTA V originally released in 2013. The game's still fun, of course, especially the online mode that has seen continual updates over the years. The technology behind the title is getting a little dated, though, and fans of the series are understandably chomping at the bit for a new release. Rockstar has confirmed that GTA VI (or at least, the next GTA game) is in the works, but as usual, the company hasn't released any information about the title, nor mentioned a release window.
The leaks and rumors that we've heard so far place a hypothetical "GTA VI" at the end of next year, or even in 2025. That's a lot of development time, even if the company only moved into active development in the middle of last year, as is supposedly the case. In a time when almost every other development house (from Square-Enix to CD Projekt Red) is moving to the Unreal Engine, it seems like Rockstar will thankfully stick with its own in-house tech, known as RAGE.
chrisklippeltweet
That bit of information comes from a tweet by Chris Klippel, who is among other things the creator of Rockstar Mag, a French-language gaming news site that focuses on topics surrounding Rockstar Games and its releases. You can see the tweet above. Chris says that he has been in touch with people who have seen the latest version of RAGE in action, and that its graphics engine is "assez incroyable." Chris describes the latest version as RAGE9, which is interesting; Rockstar doesn't talk about RAGE as a separate product from its games, likely because it doesn't license the tech.
gtaonlinearcade The arcade area added to GTA Online would look amazing with ray-traced lighting.
It's not hard to imagine what sort of features the game engine might include to warrant that description. Heavy usage of ray-traced graphics will go a long way toward impressive presentation, but based on what we've heard in the past about GTA VI, it seems likely that the latest RAGE might be more impressive in its ability to scale content from infinitesimal details all the way up to gigantic cityscapes. We've seen demonstrations of similar technology in Epic Games' Unreal Engine 5, and given the nature of "GTA", such capability would be perfectly suited to the games.
gta5crowd
Another impressive characteristic in GTA VI might just be the NPC AI. Historically, Grand Theft Auto's NPCs have been extremely simple stand-ins mostly intended to give the scene a realistic look without having much in the way of personality or believable behavior. That could all change in the next GTA game, based on a patent filed in October 2020.
From what we've heard, the next Grand Theft Auto title will be set in Vice City once again, so look forward to exploring the city's tropical environs. No word on the chronological setting, though; it could be set as far back as the Cuban Missile Crisis, or it could be set in the modern day. We also don't know necessarily what platforms the title will appear for, but based on Rockstar's history, we'd expect it to be available for the PS5 and Xbox before it appears on PC later.

2023.04.01 08:30 bbbeatk Advice for non-business/finance major?

I am a current senior at ucla. I started my internship last summer for a SBA lending company. Even though it was supposed to last only for a few months, I got a full-time offer as a remote employee. since then I’ve working as an associate business analyst for 73k per year while going to school. It’s supposed to be 40 hours a week but honestly I only work like 20-25 hours a week or even less to be quite honest. While I like my job so much coz of the pay, flexibility, and low stress, I feel like i haven’t grown much since I started working for the company. I study non-business related subjects at school. What directions should I take for career progression in the finance industry in the future?

2023.04.01 08:26 Builder_Distinct WIBTA for inviting my dad to my elopement even though my sister would disown me if she found out?

Tw: mentions physical abuse
Info: I (F 35) have not lived with my family since I was 18. I currently live 2 states away. My sister(F 30) has an immune disorder and has pretty much always lived with my parents (M&F 63). My Dad and sister don’t speak at all and haven’t since Christmas 2019 when they got into a verbal and physical altercation. After that incident my sister and I decided to stand together and ask my mom to choose between us or him and so she made my dad move out. They have been separated since then but do not plan to divorce. During these 3 years mine and my mom’s relationship with my dad has slowly improved ever so slightly as he’s worked to atone for his mistakes. My mom is also immune compromised, quite severely. The pandemic was very difficult for her and my sister to deal with on their own. Although my father still 100% financially supports both of them and their household he has not been allowed to move back in and my sister has made it very clear that she will never allow him back in her life. I completely respect and support this. As does my mom and the rest of our extended family. About my fathers abuse. Despite my own difficult relationship with my father after years of emotional mental and some physical abuse when I was teenageyoung adult - I have finally witnessed him making a huge effort to change these past few years. Being separated from his family was apparently eye opening and motivated him to see doctors and therapists so that he could make enormous life changes. He has apologized to my mom and I and he has made respectful efforts to show us that he is working hard to change. We all wish this would have happened sooner of course. My mother feels enormous guilt for not doing more to put herself and her daughters first. I do not resent her, as I am working with my own therapist to process and resolve all of my feelings about my parents and my childhood. I do not expect mine or my mother’s relationship with him will ever be fully healed but we are both working with him to navigate something healthy for our individual futures as well as our future as a family. My sister however is not. I believe my sister when she says he is “dead to her” and I do not see that changing now or ever. I have not and will not push the issue with her. It is her right and her decision to have and hold onto that personal boundary. Now to the main issue. Next year my partner(M 46) of 8 years and I will be eloping. Just the two of us and a photographer. The following year we will host a small/medium sized reception on our 10 year anniversary to celebrate our love with our family and friends. I already promised my sister that our father would absolutely not be invited or welcome at the reception. However, here’s when I might be the asshole, I think I would like to invite my dad to my elopement. So he can “give me away” as a sign of appreciation and gratitude for his hard work to be better. He was a loving, supportive and present father through most of my childhood. I have many more good memories than bad. He had his own demons from his childhood which he failed to deal with before having children and I know now how much he regrets not seeking help sooner. I do not fully forgive him, yet, but I recognize his immense efforts. I think I want to honor these efforts with this invite. My partner does not want to sway my decision. He said he supports whatever I want to do, but he did say he thinks having my dad at the elopement and then everyone else at the reception is a good and fair solution. My best friend and my aunt/godmother think I should choose to support my sister and said that if I had my dad at my elopement it would be a “dick move”. I mentioned this all casually and gently to my mom. She was moved and very supportive but she cautioned me that if my sister ever found out she would probably cut me off permanently. Which is exactly why I decided to post here seeking input from strangers on Reddit. Am I the asshole?

2023.04.01 08:25 Background-Fly-8869 i find it hard to answer when someone asks me what music i listen to (advice?)

changing departments at work has exposed me to a bunch of new people who i’ve never spoken to before, and naturally i’m asked this question a lot. i KNOW what i’m interested in — i know that i have favourite artists, games, movies and tv shows — but i feel like my poor memory recall prevents me from accessing my favourite things on demand, and i find myself having the biggest mental blank.
i can’t just sum up my music taste with one or two genres because paradoxically i listen to a wide variety of music but not enough to say that i’ll listen to anything. to make things a little trickier i prefer to keep my spoken sentences short and easy for me to say — i struggle with explaining stuff and i absolutely wouldn’t be able to repeat all of this on the spot, haha. (this post actually took me a while to write !! i like to make myself understandable and as clear as possible, when i can.)
in these situations i feel like i’m being quizzed on a topic i that didn’t study, so sometimes i panic a little during the interaction, which doesn’t help me at all and just scatters my brain.
my main preparation method for conversations is to mentally rehearse myself speaking in specific social settings, but i still encounter the same mental blank even in imagined scenarios. i’m contemplating about going a step further and dedicating a notebook to “study” what my interests are — i haven’t started this yet (damn you procrastination!!!) so i’m unsure if it’ll be helpful.
does anyone have any tips or suggestions, or can anyone relate? :-)
(some info: i was retrospectively diagnosed with ADHD recently at 25 y/o and my psychiatrist strongly suspects ASD, but i’m not currently seeking a diagnosis at this time. i mask 100% of the time outside of home and i don’t disclose this to anyone except for family and my partner. so i’d prefer solutions that don’t involve declaring my ASD/ADHD)

2023.04.01 08:25 ProbablyNotOnline What Perspective Do You Want To Play As Next?

So recently I've been thinking about the different perspectives you play as in paradox games. The main ones currently are "spirit of the nation" and the character perspective, although I think you could justify saying hoi is playing as an administration seeing as rebellions knock you out of the game.
I was trying to decide my favourite and did have trouble picking but currently I'd say my favourite perspective is the character perspective we get in CK, but it does have its flaws for things like succession and dynasty management encouraged the player to play from a "best for the next heir" perspective instead of what is best for the nation or dynasty pulling at least me from my character "yeah, it would make sense if he made sure his sons inherited something... but also I could just give it all to my player heir".
I think it would be neat to explore new perspectives in new games, for example maybe instead of playing as a government you play as a political party or faction within the government, imagine trying to manage grand strategy with vote pandering and the will of the people/your powerbase.
Or maybe a game where you're literally the dynasty, members of the dynasty are your pawns but you need to manage them and their relationships all the while they plot against the good of the dynasty for personal gain (including the head of the dynasty), I reckon this would allow interesting emergent story like in crusader kings while having a more realistic approach to succession and would add an increased focus on family management and character relationships.

2023.04.01 08:19 StepwiseUndrape574 Rockstar North Hiring A Game Tester Could Mean We Are Inching Closer To GTA 6

GTA 6 has been on the horizon for some time, and there have been rumors left and right about the upcoming game from Rockstar. Though the company has not announced nor confirmed anything yet, we could be getting closer to a launch of the much-anticipated game. Rockstar North, out of Edinburgh, is in charge of Grand Theft Auto development, and they are hiring a new game tester alongside other interesting positions.
Rockstar's website lists 18 different job positions currently available for applicants, including the rather interesting game tester role. Diving into the position, Rockstar is looking for people with "Knowledge of current generation games consoles and PCs" and who have "Competent gaming ability." Of course, this would all make sense for a gaming company; however, this is the division of Rockstar that produces the GTA series. Thus, we can reach a limited number of conclusions, including the fact that we could be close to at least a GTA 6 announcement.
jobs rockstar north hiring a game tester could mean we are inching closer to gta vi
Looking ahead this year, we will hit the tenth anniversary of the GTA 5 announcement, which could be good timing for the next game's announcement. While it may be a little cliche, it would be a great way to drum up hype around the dedicated GTA community. We could see a whole celebration of what has happened this decade with GTA, from the main campaign to GTA Online, and even smaller things like a thriving role-play ecosystem.
Whatever the case may be, it will be exciting to see if Rockstar North has anything in store for us later this year. Therefore, stay tuned to HotHardware as we keep an eye out for updates on any GTA 6 news hopefully coming soon.

2023.04.01 08:14 StepwiseUndrape574 GTA Online Is Shutting Down For Good On PS3 And Xbox 360 Later This Year

As time marches onward, new developments and technologies come along, requiring the sunsetting of that which came previously. It appears that time has come for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, as Rockstar has announced the shuttering of Grand Theft Auto Online on December 16th for the antiquated yet beloved consoles.
Around 2005 and 2006, the original Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 were revealed, bringing gaming into more people's living rooms. Then in 2010, both consoles got a facelift with a "slim" version that gave upgrades and fixes to both platforms. Three years later, GTA V and GTA Online released on both consoles, beginning the saga of one of the most played video games in current history. After being enjoyed by millions of people racing, stunting, and engaging in general shenanigans akin to the Achievement Hunter group of Rooster Teeth Productions, the game moved on to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 before more recently going to the Xbox Series XS and PlayStation 5.
vehicles gta online being shutdown in december on playstation 3 and xbox 360
As we are now two console generations deeper, it is time to say goodbye to where we started the GTA Online experience. "PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of GTA Online, including website stat tracking via the Rockstar Games Social Club, will officially be shutting down on December 16th, 2021," says Rockstar's blog post. This is change comes because the company is "mov[ing] forward with updates and support for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC versions of Grand Theft Auto Online." Furthermore, Rockstar is working on "this Fall's launches of the new expanded and enhanced versions of Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series XS."
With this announcement, Rockstar states that it would "like to thank the GTA Online community for their continued support and look forward to seeing players continue their journey in Los Santos with us on new platforms." Though this may ultimately be a sad sunset, the future is bright for GTA moving forward.

2023.04.01 08:10 Internal_Scale3991 help asking my boyfriend to get the vaccine

i (19f) have been suspected of having Lupus (plus i have chronic and severe Asthma that i’ve had since i was 3 i had COVID once and it almost killed me). i’m currently getting testing for it and i wont know if i have it for another month or so. My boyfriend (22M) is coming down to visit me (we’re LDR) but he doesn’t have the COVID shot. i don’t feel comfortable seeing him if he hasn’t had the Covid shot because of the new development in my health and the possibility of an auto immune disorder. i saw him 2 months ago and he didn’t have it but now i’d rather be safer then sorry.
When i found out i told him him and he got very irritated and annoyed and said he’d do it and we haven’t spoke about it again. We’re less then two weeks out from him coming down and idk how to bring it up. I don’t want to get sick and out myself or my mom in jeopardy (she also has lupus and is on cellcept and plaquinal so her immune system doesn’t exist basically) i need advice for how to approach this. Thanks!

2023.04.01 08:08 Educational-Hope-601 Realized just how little energy teaching is leaving me

I am currently mourning the end of my spring break. It’s been great. I haven’t done much but I’ve been able to clean and run errands and just rest for the last week.
I had a realization that I’m not actually lazy and I really just have that little energy to do anything even the least bit mentally taxing when I’m teaching. I’ve been unable to get myself to keep my room clean and to wash my dishes immediately after using them. This week I could clean and actually keep my space clean, as well as do the dishes immediately instead of letting them just sit there. Definitely eye opening and it makes me feel better 😂
Any tips on how to make it these next eight weeks? Once we go back on Monday, it’s a straight shot to the end of the year (we get out the last Friday in May) with zero days off. I’ve used up all my PTO, so scheduling days off is not an option, unfortunately.
