I’ve just started watching this show because all the clips I’ve seen from it look cool, and everyone I’ve seen talk about it say Revy is one of the hottest characters ever, and she does look really cool. It’s a super entertaining show so far and I will be finishing it, but a moment in Ep. 7 kinda shocked me and I don’t really think I’ll be able to like Revy as a character anymore, so I wanted to get some thoughts from the actual fans of the show/manga here.

 The moment I’m talking about is when Revy and Rock were eating ramen or whatever after their meeting and she’s still being hard on him, no big deal, trashing the newbie is normal. But when it escalates to the point that she pulls a gun on him, I assume it will end with the usual “test of resolve” kind of thing with her putting the gun away, because who would be psychotic enough to shoot someone for standing up for themself? But she actually pulls the trigger and tries to kill him there… The only reason she doesn’t is that he pushes the gun away as she fires. I’m just wondering if there’s something more to why people love her so much or if it just goes as far as “hot and badass”. If that’s it I understand, but personally I just don’t care much for characters that will try to kill someone over something that trivial. I get that she has trauma and that much of her personality is sort of a defense mechanism, but a lot of fictional characters and real people have trauma with their own defense mechanisms without trying to murder people for calling out their bullshit. That seems straight up evil to me. I’m interested in any thoughts you guys have on this, thanks!

Defeat Wail: Is justice... really just a word?

This is my attempt to elaborate the strategy that I apply. The goal of this strategy is that I try to achieve subconscious fluency and put stuttering into remission.
Intro:

• After analyzing my stuttering, I experience that I block because of the unhelpful belief: "I wait out executing articulation, because I first need to sense whether the air pressure against my lips, tongue and larynx have the perfect air pressure or tension". In other words, my timing to execute articulation is wrong because of said 'unhelpful timing method'. In other words, what I'm doing wrong is: "Timing/measuring the air pressure to decide whether to initiate speech movements or not". Another way to look at it, is that I rely on sensory feedback to delay articulation. Result: a speech block
• Non-stutterers use the helpful timing method: "I execute articulation immediately whenever I instruct/decide/desire this". Result: not a speech block
• In this post, let's refrain from using vague and ambiguous words such as 'stuttering' and 'fluency'. I find it easier to adopt more precise terminology. Because by distinguishing, we could start to perceive what we can and cannot control
• I have learned (from family, friends, SLPs, stutter community) that I should not have a desire to speak fluently. As explained before, let's refrain from ambiguous terms like fluency. Another way to look at this, is that I have learned to not instruct/decide/desire to immediately execute articulation (which made me sensitive to immediately instructing motor execution). In other words, I experience that the helpful timing method of non-stutterers is now a 'trigger' (to activate fight flight freeze fawn)
• So, in this strategy I will instruct my brain to immediately execute motor movements (to replace 'measuring air pressure'). I experience, that I am not applying this helpful timing method, because of these reasons:
  • mentally not ready to speak fluently
  • too complicated e.g., too many triggers, unhelpful beliefs/attitudes, etc happening at once
  • physical pain (headache) (which is caused by the unhelpful timing method 'measuring air pressure')
• In my experience, the current 'articulatory starting position' is my trigger. For example, if I am about to pronounce the letter /B/ then my mouth position (that I start out with) starts with closed lips. This articulatory starting position then triggers me to "time or measure the perfect air pressure against my lips" which may result in a speech block.

Strategy:

1. only rely on fluency laws that non-stutterers apply such as not relying on thoughts, feelings, sensations and stutter beliefs/attitudes to initiate speech movements
2. instruct/urge to immediately execute motor movements. But, always combine this with consciously fully closing the lips if I pronounce the letter /B/ (aka don't avoid articulatory starting positions. Note, I often avoided this during the unhelpful timing method 'measuring air pressure')
3. replace the unhelpful attitude: "measuring glottal air pressure against my speech muscles" with the helpful attitude: "instructing to execute motor movements"
4. interrupt pain/adrenaline program (from the brain). Note, it's not about the physical pain that I feel now, rather the sudden pain to-be. Label/associate this physical pain as 'I need to measure air pressure' (if this unhelpful attitude is truly my most root cause of speech blocks, then it makes sense that this causes the tension/pain)
5. interrupt the 'measuring air pressure'-program (in the brain)
6. Observe/accept my triggers (that activate the neurological pathway towards the program of "measuring air pressure"). My triggers are:
   1. articulatory starting position
   2. fear of interruption not working
   3. fear of 'instructing to execute articulation'
   4. feeling air pressure
   5. high voice
   6. feeling annoyed to not wait out air pressure (which makes sense, I have been using this unhelpful habitual attitude for years)

The goal of this strategy is to learn that I truly posses the skill to control each of above elements to manage the forward flow of speech and apply stress management.

My wife just bought me Chrono Cross on Switch as a random gift. I'm super grateful and love RPGs (mainly Final Fantasy) but never played Trigger.
Is it worth me hunting down a copy of that first? Will it ever come to Switch and is it worth holding out for that? Should I buy it for Android even though I hate gaming?

I have no way to cope. Can’t drink. Can’t vape. I have hair trigger rage and my 4yo knows how to push every button. Tried at least sitting in the living room to be there for her physically even though I’m not there mentally and I blew up at her. Husband (rightfully) called me out for being too harsh, but pushed us to be in the same space before I was cooled down/ready to apologize. She forgave/forgot anyway. I decided to just go back to bed and self-quarantine to keep my bad attitude from spreading to everyone else. Cycling thru dissociating on my phone and just laying there staring at the wall doing nothing. I feel like such a shit mom/wife/person rn but I literally don’t have the mental space to do anything about it. I’m burnt out af. I don’t wanna exist.

My addiction started just about a year back and I think it's still not too late to quit.
I had a 5 day streak but relapsed and then relapsed after 3 days today but the good thing is that I have only fapped on 2 days this June.
I keep trying and relapsing after a few days and this has now been going on for 3 months.
As a student and pre med, I use porn to cope up with stress but I can't afford to lose any more time than I already have.
This is my final year of high school and my entrance exams will decide my whole future and I want to quit before it all gets worse.

1. What I realised over time was that it all started pretty vanilla but then I started looking up more hardcore and disgusting porn over time. So the first thing I'm gonna do is that even if I relapse I WILL NOT look at anything beyond nudes.
   
2. I don't have any exams this whole month so it will the perfect time to start again as I will have no stress which is my trigger.
   
3. My second trigger is when I'm bored and can't decide on what to study, so I just resort to fapping. So whenever I feel the urge I will start doing physical chemistry or physics numericals. Numericals tend to help me better get my mind off porn than just reading bio theory.
   
4. I am going to start kewping my phone in the other room while studying or during most of the day.
   
5. I'll give cold water baths a try. Are they still effective during summers?
   
6. I NEED to figure out a way to maintain my focus while studying. I can't afford to take a drop year.

Hello!! I am getting into my first bolt action rifle now and thus a new caliber! Went the 6 Creedmoor route on this build with the idea of learning PRS and trying out a few matches this year hopefully. While getting things ready, I figured I'd make this video on my process for cleaning new dies. Had to get all the gunk out of the Redding S-Type Match die set. I hope I showed the important stuff well enough. I want to make some decent videos for new reloaders to watch and hopefully help them get going. If anyone has some good tips, I'd appreciate if you leave a comment on the video so more people can learn the tricks of the pros who have done this much longer than I have. I'm still pretty new to all of this but having fun learning all about it.

My GF [18F] says I [18M] have no right to say a word about her conservative parents.
We've been dating since almost 2 years, we've known each other since we were 12. She's recently fought a seemingly terminal deasese. I've recently gained control over my situation of extreme parental abuse (drunk dad who physically beat me and mom). We've both been there for each other through this.
Over the last year, through the things she tells me, I've noticed some things about her parents which bother me. and today I finally confessed it to her.
Here are the things that bother me.
1) her dad has 3 kids despite having a govt job, my GF is middle child, who is officially not their child, not on paper. Not only this thing could cause her legal issues related to her rights, but it also indicates that they are extremely conservative. How? My GF is born almost 10 years after her sister. Why? Apparently they kept trying for a baby for all that time but her mom had multiple abortions due to her being unfit for a child. But they kept on trying for 10 fucking years and finally has their 2nd child(my GF), who was also born prematurely, and yes, she had to face many deaseses, including this terminal desease(pulmonary Fibrosis). Had to live her entire childhood with restrictions.
You would think her parents would stop after barely having a second child, who is unfit and will have to face hell. But no, they went for a 3rd one, immediately. Yes, the 3rd child who is the only boy is born less than a year later.
And the reason for this I think, is obvious. They wanted a boy (lots of Indians used to have a hate for girlchild), and her father would rather break the law and risk the life of his wife multiple times for years, just for a boychild. (Not to mention he is born with extreme harmonal issues)
Correct me if I'm wrong but this is the first thought that comes to my mind based on the facts, please tell me if there's another possible reason.
2) After that there are other things like how he actively and verbally hates people of other religion, and is possibly also castiest, which concerns me since I'm SC (lower caste in India, it's like being black in US)
3) Then there are other concerns like how parents have left her alone while she was in ER on fucking life support, and her parents were legit "attending a family funtion" or paying a visit to family members who lived near the hospital. But they were mostly absent.
4) They were reluctunt for letting her eat nonveg which was recommended by the doc. Especially her mom was very against it. They are vegitarians for religious reasons. Actually it's since I almost forced her to go against them and eat nonveg more often and in her house, when her issues regarding weightloss and immunity statrted to go away.
I stated my concerns that their conservative behaviour is causing her issues and will definately become an issue when it comes to marriage (yes, we are stupid for thinking that far. But consider the ammount of suffering we have faced together, I can't imagine a life without her, and she says she feels the same. Also know that we've known each other since more than 5 years)
After I said all that, her response was "shut up". Followed by how I have no right to say anything about her parents, how she owes me zero explaination for these concerns and that her parents are always right.
If her parents are always right as she says, will she also listen to them when they tell her to stay away from me? Which they will Since I'm SC and they're hella conservative.
Not just that, she said stuff like...
They've been there for her and I haven't. This hurts because she used to call me from the ER, with a tired breathless voice, just because her parents were absent and she'd feel alone. I left everything when I used to see her call, even abandoned college classes in the middle, basically left anthing at hand once I saw her call. Because sometimes she'd talk about giving up and I had to give her hope. Now she's saying I haven't been there for her?
When I found out her desease was terminal, I legit went dark for 20 days, Didn't go to college, didn't see anyone except my parents maybe once a day. Stayed locked in my room trying to scour through all the 100s of pages research papers which were so hard to find it since it was a rare desease and most of the patients were above 65. It's a lung desease which was said to be 100% fatal. I stayed up all nights, made a mess of my own health while doing so, until I came accros a study, which showed only 5 patients in the entire world, who susrvived, all were minors, I figured the desease is said to be fatal because it mainly attacks old people and they don't have any regen power in their lungs. But a 17 year old girl's lungs are constantly growing, she should survive this. (I was right)
I gave her hope, that alone improved her health from needing support to walk to jumping around in just one day. I forced her to get more involved in her medical process and make the doctor give her curative care instead of end-of-life support like her parents wanted. and it worked, she went to a doctor in Pune and the retests showed she's curing that desease (which is impossible on paper).
In this process, I lost 15 kgs of my weight and the will to eat anything due to severe deppression. I still haven't recovered from the physical impact. After all of this, she compleatly discredits me and my concerns, says I wasn't there for her and all that.
I feel deeply hurt.
I legit feel like I'm nothing to her, I feel like she always thought like this about me.
In her defense. She's a mature person and doesn't have traditional or conservative thoughts, neither does she seem all that proud of her parent's being so conservative. So I know she doesn't share her parent's thoughts. she was never like this, NEVER. And maybe this isn't the person in her talking, maybe she just said this because she got triggered, I understand many Indians are conditioned to blindly trust their parents and never question them, so I'm not sure if I blame her.
Please don't start teasing about age, we're not nibba-nibbi. We've both supported each other through life threatening situation. I have got physically injured due to family fights, have had to lock myself in a room for days with my mom to fend from my dad. Been forced to spit on my own mom, hit her with a sandal and other types of torture. she has had to face extreme pain and illness all her life, had to witness a rape and murder as a pre-teen, been through therapy. So please understand our bond is really strong after been through all this.
Should I let it go or should I say something more to her? How can I let her know what she can simply counter my opinion if she has an answer or agree with it? How can I let her know she doesn't have to gatekeep her parents?
And what mistakes am I making on my end?
TL:DR GF's parents show extreme signs of being conservative and casuing a problem for us. GF gets hella triggered and says I have no right to talk about them, they are always right and she owes me no explaination regarding this. I feel undervalued and basically got shut up for stating my concerns.

Me and a mate split about 10g of shrooms, slowly consuming between 10-12am. We started off with a lemon tek around 10 and ate most of the shrooms after 12. Something to note is, the person who we got the shrooms from didn't have a working scale and so we had to trust we were getting 10g. With this, i feel theres a possibility we might've had too much if thats even possible and thinking back, this was a very dumb idea.
This is our second time trying shrooms, with our first time being around 4-5 days ago. Unsure if the tolerance would affect the trip, we still tried and it went as follows.
We had no visuals the entire time and felt extremely 'drunk' with most motor skills being gone. Around 12 i began to feel paranoid and had a panic attack due to my eyes being worryingly diluted, causing me to be short sighted(hopefully temporarily). I think 5 hours have past and my eyes have no improvement and im scared for my health.
Is this normal? I understand that shrooms causes diluted eyes which basically has the same effect as a camera lens being stuck on focusing on short range, but I've become overly worried about whether or not something bad might've happened or if the shrooms triggered something mentally which i should get checked.
I think I'm mostly looking for some reassurance that ill be fine, or some sort of explanation for what im feeling. I came into this trip expecting shroom effects but got something completely different and honestly felt like the possibility of death wasn't out of the picture, mostly due to panicing.
My main questions are- 1) Is my blurry vision normal? Will it return and should i do a anything to prevent damaging my eyes. 2) Is drunk effects with little to no visuals a common occurance when you have a tolerance for shrooms? 3) What is the general amount of days recommended for a tolerance break?

Me: It’s not the end of the world I can walk him again in a couple hours Her: Not the end of the world? Yea this isn’t gonna work. The principle is that I asked you to do something precisely. (Context: I have an eating disorder and she was laughing at me for eating too much sour cream and I didn’t find it funny and told her it wasn’t. Her: Last night turned me off. It was unnecessary and made me uncomfortable. Me: What lmao Her: It’s not funny. It’s disgusting. Your an adult. Your traumas and triggers are your own fault. Everyone doesn’t have to adapt to your triggers. You’re a turn off. It’s okay, I won’t joke with you no more and treat you like a roommate. Your mean. make provision for further anti-avoidance measures in relation to Section 445 of the Companies Act 2006 .
BE IT ENACTED by the King’s most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
Section 1: Amendments to Section 456 of the Corporation Tax Act 2010
(1) Clause 4 of Section 456 of the Corporation Tax Act 2010 is amended as follows:

(4) Condition A is that—
a. the amount of the loan or advance does not exceed £5,000, and
b. that amount does not exceed £5,000 when taken together with any other outstanding loans and advances which were made to the borrower by—
i. the close company, or
ii. any of its associated companies.

Section 2: Amendments to Section 457 of the Corporation Tax Act 2010
(1) Clause 2 of Section 457 of the Corporation Tax Act 2010 is amended as follows:

(2) Relief is to be given from that tax, or a proportionate part of it, if—
a. the loan or advance or part of it is repaid to the company, or
b. the whole or part of the debt in respect of the loan or advance is released or written off, and;
c. no new loan or advance to the recipient is established within 2 years of the original loan date.

Section 3: Commencement, short title and extent
(1) This Act will come into force on the 6 April 2024
(2) This Act will extend to the entirety of the United Kingdom.
(3) This Act shall be cited as the Shareholder Loans (Anti-avoidance) Act 2023

I now present the second of the anti-tax avoidance laws that I wish to bring to the House, this one tackling the Section 455 avoidance measure.
Under previous laws, it was a known tax avoidance scheme for employed shareholders of a business to extract profits in the form of a “shareholder loan”, which in effect operated as a tax free dividend to shareholders. While successive Governments have tried to curb this avoidance measure over time, including through amendments to the Companies Act 2006 to include Section 455 and it’s related clauses, a number of issues remain. Firstly, the existing anti-avoidance measure fails to tackle loans of less than £15,000, which is not an insignificant amount of money on which tax should otherwise be due. Therefore this Bill reduces that threshold to £5,000 in line with other tax legislation to ensure that only trivial loans which would be expected in the normal course of business (e.g corporate credit cards) are incurred. Secondly, despite the anti-avoidance legislation a tax avoidance known as “bed and breakfasting” remains prevalent - these transactions are carried out around the end of the accounting period to prevent the loans etc appearing on the company’s Balance Sheet but it may also be done around the date which is 9 months after the end of the accounting period as that is the trigger date for liability to the charge, thereby meaning that a temporary repayment of the same loan and the return of these funds 9 months after the end of the accounting period mean that the funds remain not taxable on a technicality. Finally, given shareholder loans are not subject to interest, even if these loans are eventually repaid the present value of the loan value will be lower when such profit is formally extracted and therefore taxed by HMRC, which the legislation fails to prevent. To tackle these issues, this Bill also creates a measure in which any repaid loans made within 2 years of a previous loan being made are treated as though the original loan remained outstanding, and therefore taxable under the Section 455 clause of the Companies Act.
It is the position of Her Majesty’s Government that shareholders must extract profit from their business through a legally authorised and taxable dividend, and we will do everything in our power to remove the opportunities for avoidance.
In combination with the other two pieces of anti-avoidance legislation I will be/have submitted to the House, these measures are collectively expected to raise £3.4 billion. This proposed revenue generation and these Bills were raised at Her Majesty’s Budget Committee and unopposed. My thanks go to my friend the Right Honourable Phonexia2 for their assistance in costing.

We spent 3 years together before we broke up. Ang sakit te we literally grew up together. He was my first in everything and it really sucks that i have to lose him bc we grew apart. Ik its normal and that it happens to couples i just didnt think it would happen to us. We've been dating since almost 2 years, we've known each other since we were 12. She's recently fought a seemingly terminal deasese. I've recently gained control over my situation of extreme parental abuse (drunk dad who physically beat me and mom). We've both been there for each other through this.
Over the last year, through the things she tells me, I've noticed some things about her parents which bother me. and today I finally confessed it to her.
Here are the things that bother me.
1) her dad has 3 kids despite having a govt job, my GF is middle child, who is officially not their child, not on paper. Not only this thing could cause her legal issues related to her rights, but it also indicates that they are extremely conservative. How? My GF is born almost 10 years after her sister. Why? Apparently they kept trying for a baby for all that time but her mom had multiple abortions due to her being unfit for a child. But they kept on trying and finally has their 2nd child, who was also born prematurely, and yes, she had to face many deaseses, including this terminal desease. Had to live her entire childhood with restrictions.
You would think her parents would stop after barely having a second child, who is unfit and will have to face hell. But no, they went for a 3rd one, immediately. Yes, the 3rd child who is the only boy is born less than a year later.
And the reason for this I think, is obvious. They wanted a boy, and her father would rather break the law and risk the life of his wife multiple times for years, just for a boychild. (Not to mention he is born with extreme harmonal issues)
Correct me if I'm wrong but this is the first thought that comes to my mind based on the facts, please tell me if there's another possible reason.
2) After that there are other things like how he actively and verbally hates people of other religion, and is possibly also castiest, which concerns me since I'm SC.
3) Then there are other concerns like how parents have left her alone while she was in ER on fucking life support, and her parents were legit "attending a family funtion" or paying a visit to family members who lived near the hospital. But they were mostly absent.
4) They were reluctunt for letting her eat nonveg which was recommended by the doc. Especially her mom was very against it. They are vegitarians for religious reasons. Actually it's since I almost forced her to go against them and eat nonveg more often and in her house, when her issues regarding weightloss ans immunity statrted to go away.
I stated my concerns that their conservative behaviour is causing her issues and will definately become an issue when it comes to marriage (yes, we are stupid for thinking that far. But consider the ammount of suffering we have faced together, I can't imagine a life without her, and she says she feels the same. Also know that we've known each other since more than 5 years)
After I said all that, her response was "shut up". Followed by how I have no right to say anything about her parents, how she owes me zero explaination for these concerns and that her parents are always right.
If her parents are always right as she says, will she also listen to them when they tell her to stay away from me? Which they will Since I'm SC and they're hella conservative.
Not just that, she said stuff like...
They've been there for her and I haven't. This hurts because she used to call me from the ER, with a tired breathless voice, just because her parents were absent and she'd feel alone. I left everything when I used to see her call, even abandoned college classes in the middle, basically leaft anthing at hand once I saw her call. Now she's saying I haven't been there for her?
When I found out her desease was terminal, I legit went dark for 20 days, Didn't go to college, didn't see anyone except my parents maybe once a day. Stayed locked in my room trying to scour through all the 100s of pages research papers which were so hard to find it since it was a rare desease and most of the patients were above 65. It's a lung desease which was said to be 100% fatal. I stayed up all nights, made a mess of my own health while doing so, until I came accros a study, which showed only 5 patients in the entire world, who susrvived, all were minors, I figured the desease is said to be fatal because it mainly attacks old people and they don't have any regen power in their lungs. But a 17 year old girl's lungs are constantly growing, she should survive this.
I gave her hope, that alone improved her health from needing support to walk to jumping around in just one day. I forced her to get more involved in her medical process and make the doctor give her curative care instead of end-of-life support like her parents wanted. and it worked, she went to a doctor in Pune and the retests showed she's curing that desease (which is impossible on paper).
In this process, I lost 15 kgs of my weight and the will to eat anything due to severe deppression. I still haven't recovered from the physical impact. After all of this, she compleatly discredits me and my concerns, says I wasn't there for her and all that.
I feel deeply hurt.
I legit feel like I'm nothing to her, I feel like she always thought like this about me.
In her defense. She's a mature person and doesn't have traditional or conservative thoughts, neither does she seem all that proud of her parent's being so conservative. So I know she doesn't share her parent's thoughts. she was never like this, NEVER. And maybe this isn't the person in her talking, maybe she just said this because she got triggered, I understand many Indians are conditioned to blindly trust their parents and never question them, so I'm not sure if I blame her.
What should I do?
Please don't start teasing about age, we're not nibba-nibbi. We've both supported each other through life threatening situation. I have got physically injured due to family fights, have had to lock myself in a room for days with my mom to fend from my dad. Been forced to spit on my own mom, hit her with a sandal and other types of torture. she has had to face extreme pain and illness all her life, had to witness a rape and murder as a pre-teen, been through therapy. So please understand our bond is really strong after we've been through all this. This relationship is serious.
Edit: after a bit of talking, she said it's too complicated for me to understand and she doesn't wanna reveal her family secrets. Which weirded me out since we never kept any secrets, atleast not me, she's the person I trust the most and it hurts that she doesn't feel the same. Also, I might be overthinking, but I'm sure her 'family secrets' are simply more fucked up things about them.
Can someone explain the situation please?
TL:DR GF's parents show extreme signs of being conservative and casuing a problem for us. GF gets hella triggered and says I have no right to talk about them, they are always right and she owes me no explaination regarding this. I feel undervalued and basically got shut up for stating my concerns.
