My mom told me to walk to a neighbor's house with my almost 4-year-old brother to deliver some papers. The neighbor lived close; about a third of a mile away. When we were almost back home, I heard something approach us from behind. These are the thoughts I remember.

I give verbal instructions to my little 3-almost-4-year-old brother to move slowly towards the open garage attached to our house, talking him through it every step of the way, getting him into the house while I keep the dog's eyes on me.
Once he is in the door of the house, hopefully he is tall enough to press the button to shut the overhead garage door as I run into the garage while the door is closing. He will then shut the door to the house, making sure he stays safe from dog. If I run real fast and time it right, I'll get into the garage just before the door comes all the way down, and the dog will be stuck outside the garage while I'm safe inside. This is the best plan. I take my left arm out of the sleeve, so my arm is inside the main compartment of the jacket, next to my body. The empty left sleeve hangs limply. Dog lunges again, bites left sleeve, gets a mouth of jacket. Lunges again, bites shave and claws me again.

I mean I’m happy about it, it’s exactly what I wanted but when you look at the recommended weight loss rate (no more than one pound per week) compared to mine (one pound per day) you kinda start to wonder if you’re doing damage to your body that you’re not aware of me.
And it’s important to ask because I’m planning on staying on this diet to drop an other 60 or 80 lbs so I’m gonna be doing it for a long time.
I can feel it slowing down but I thought at this point I would be losing weight much slower after losing the water weight but I’m still dropping about 4 lbs every 3 days.

My visa interview is coming up, and my sponsor has gotten cold feet and has changed their mind and refused to do the I-134, because of how legally binding it is. With that said, there is nothing that is illegal or untrue that we have put on the form as we're filling it out. The reason for my sponsor's cold feet is because they don't want to get in trouble, they fear making a small mistake, and it being grounds for them to go to jail and such. It's less than a week before my visa appointment, and to be honest I don't really make that much from my job, and now, I won't have an I-134 to provide for the interview. What can I do? Should I talk to my sponsor? Should I just not bring an I-134?

I'm looking to build a set up that's basically better for longer ranges than an AR15 but can also fill kind of a battle rifle role. So a general purpose rifle but in 308. I would love to go for a more budget friendly set up but I don't mind spending the money on something to prevent issues/short comings in the future, I want to be able to depend on the gun if I need to. I'm basically just completely new to AR10's and want to know what you guys would do if you were in my position. I would prefer a 16inch barrel but willing ti go with 18. I want to be able to engage targets at 700-800 yards but want to make sure I can easily engage at 400-550 with ease and a bit of overkill to account for random variables one might find in the field. What kind of accuracy should I be looking for? Is there a certain barrel style I should be aiming for like stainless steel? I live in a humid environment but don't mind taking good care of the gun.
I also like the idea of just getting a Cheap PSA PA-10 upper but do y'all know if it would fit my 5D billet DPMS gen 1 pattern lower?

Alright, so here’s the situation. I’m 22 and I live in a pretty small, conservative town. I’ve been at this dealership as an automotive technician for about a year now and they keep doing shit that feels really shady.
I started in the lube bay like everyone else, except I got moved to the main shop in two weeks because of how hard I worked when the majority of guys get moved after 6 months. They wanted me in the main shop to begin taking on bigger jobs, learning how to diagnose, engine jobs, etc. the shop foreman said I was to become his apprentice. Fast forward to wear I’m at now, I’m a level 2 technician while most of the other guys have done ZERO training, and have maybe 6 months to a year more experience than I do. I’ve been stuck inspecting used cars for this whole year aka “make sure someone buying this car isn’t going to die.” Don’t get me wrong, I’m now a professional at brake jobs and tires at this rate lmao.
Here’s what gets to me- -These other techs with no “on paper” training or certifications w only a bit more experience than I, are doing MAJOR jobs such as engine swaps, transmission rebuilds etc, basically anything that is customer pay and occasionally warranty. -the other techs are on flat rate pay, meaning their check is based on repairs they complete not how many hours they clock. BUT I’m the only tech that is hourly+flat rate so I’m guaranteed a paycheck while I’m “learning.” As a result, my shop foreman has me do some warranty work or other small jobs, but has the other techs claim it. So I’m basically floating their checks. -my service manager likes to neg me by saying “you do know that you’re more qualified to do these jobs. Why aren’t you?” It’s my shop foreman who dispatches these jobs. -back in December I was told I was going to transition into a real apprenticeship but I still have yet to see anything change. -I found out I was getting paid the least including less than entry level lube techs who just got hired. The reason being they “didn’t realize I was making less and never got my pay raise.” It took me months to be properly compensated. -when I come across issues w the used cars that require more in depth knowledge, I do my absolute best to repair it myself or figure out how to do it correctly, but when I’m stumped I ask questions. When I do, I’m swiftly hit with “I do not have time to walk you through this. Give it to someone else” by my shop foreman. -I have to fix the fuck ups of other technicians. -there is one technician who (has been there 6 months longer than I) keeps having customers come back, bc he messes up their cars and doesn’t ask for help. A service advisor (the only cool dude I work with) said “okay but what if we take her off of used cars and have her do the jobs he can’t handle. She’s got it.” And my shop foreman said “she’s too green. I can’t have someone with no experience doing this stuff.”
There’s so much more I could add but I think this covers the majority of my frustration. I just don’t know what to do. I know it’s not a problem with my attitude or work ethic, I take every job with a smile and do it well. My foreman is old school and values hard work but hard work isn’t getting me anywhere despite how hard I try to get it to speak for me. and the first thing I noticed while going through is that a lot of times i'll look at the kanji and not be able to determine the correct definition for what it represents, takes me quite a while. but I realized that as soon as reveal the back and see how it's pronounced that "oh, i know what that means in english".
so i'll understand the japanese word and already know the english translation, i end up spending a long time trying to remember the kanji -> hiragana translation instead of japanese -> english translation. so in the end it feels like i'm mostly focusing on READING kanji properly instead of learning japanese
I can actually read hirigana/katakana pretty easily it's kanji i'm having trouble with memorizing/learning/absorbing. don't get me wrong, I understand that being to read japanese is probably important, but if my current goal is to converse in japanese (listen/understand and speak) then learning to read is hindering my rate of progress of that goal.

I quit my full-time job as a content writer because I was feeling over-worked, saturated, and just burnt out writing way too much on a regular basis. I was also not feeling valued as a writer, so I decided to move on.

1. Created an account on Medium and published around 16 articles, and now stand at 176 followers. However, I'm from a country that's not part of Medium Partner Program, but I would still love to write on Medium as I can share it as a portfolio of my written works on very different niches.
   
2. Became more active on LinkedIn and grew my following by 20 new followers with consistent posting. I want to focus on brand building through LinkedIn and showcase my writing skills to potential clients. I also added LinkedIn service where I offer writing services, but still yet to land any client over there.
   
3. Made accounts on Upwork and Fivver, but yet to land even a single positive proposal. In the case of Upwork, I only applied to jobs that I believe I can do well, and apart from one proposal, the people that posted these jobs did not even accept or decline my proposals even after a month, even though I only applied to payment verified job listings. Fiiver is the same story as I'm yet to get any gigs even though I'm offering services.
   
4. Got accepted into Marker Content as a contributor, but based on my research, there are more writers than buyers which significantly reduces the chances of anyone buying my work. Therefore I only added an unpublished travel article to test the waters and see how it goes.
   
5. Created a portfolio showcasing some of my best works on Contra. Explored their job listings to no success as of now, but I hope to land something on Contra, sooner rather than later. I'm getting profile views, but no proposals as of now there, so something's wrong, but not sure what.
   
6. Applied to GoTranscript as a transcriptionist after clearing their tests, waiting for the result. Applied to Linkable as a writer, but yet to hear back from them as well.
   
7. Confused as to whether I should focus on short term gigs or try my luck with both short term and long term gigs?
   
8. Is it okay to write about anything and everything, or is it important as a freelance writer to narrow down everything into a niche(s) to improve your success rate.
   
9. I have 40 connects left on Upwork and not sure if it's worth sending more proposals. I have zero revenue at the moment, and I don't want to spend my backup savings to buy connects that will probably go unanswered as well. Is it worth spending money to buy connects on Upwork.

To get the “authentic” from scratch NPE experience I created a new DBG account for my new NC character, created a new DBG account for my new TR character, and created a new DBG account for my new VS character. That way I wouldn’t have all the unlocked/purchased stuff I have on my existing characters. From there I played until BR20 for all characters to unlock NSO and then played NSO all 3 times to get all my NSO’s up to BR20. But that’s not all, on those 3 characters I created, I made characters for the other 2 empires I was missing respectively and got them to BR20 too. I got 3 TR, 3 NC, 3 VS, and 3 NSO all to BR20. I thoroughly and completely did the NPE experience 9 times total to really identify precisely what the actual problems are.
More PS2 players means more profit for PS2, which means more product support for PS2, and growing PS2’s dev team. The NPE update helped tremendously. But what the NPE update either didn’t go far enough at doing or didn’t even address at all when it comes to good gameplay interactions is what is horrifically hemorrhaging new players. The longer these things don’t get addressed, the less new players will keep playing the game and all the population charts just keep showing it month after month.

Infiltrators should not be able to cloak or be cloaked at all when using a Sniper Rifle.

If you want FPS players to play your MMOFPS instead of any other FPS game that has come out in the last 11 years, you don’t have or keep Cloaked Sniper Rifles in your game. FPS players are your core playerbase and they don’t like to be repeatedly killed by invisible snipers firing at them from multiple directions with no way for them to respond or know about where they are beforehand because they are cloaked.
Cloaked Sniper Rifles are such a glaring game design problem with PS2, that even new players recognize it and call it out after they are on the receiving end of it. Then they quit and uninstall PS2 to go play something else that is more fun and doesn’t have Cloaked Sniper Rifles in it. The PS2 community tells new players “Go play COD” if they don’t like dying to Cloaked Sniper Rifles, so they do. Then the PS2 community looks at PS2’s population charts and worriedly wonders where all the players are going.
If “knowing is half the battle”, then there is no battle with Cloaked Sniper Rifles because you had no idea where they were until they kill you. If you poke out of cover, they kill you. If you ADS or slow down to ADS, they kill you. If you try to cross an open space, they kill you. New players have no counter play to this, and it’s just a slaughter. Darklight Flashlights are also entirely useless against sniper rifle using infiltrators over range.
In other FPS games with spotting mechanics, you can spot any sniper if you see them. In PS2 if you spot a sniper rifle using infiltrator, they just cloak to get rid of the spot and then they kill you.
In other FPS games if you see a sniper on an elevated position, you can avoid them or hide from them. In PS2 you cannot see that sniper rifle using infiltrator because they are cloaked and then they kill you.
In other FPS games if you are doing counter-sniper play using a non-sniper rifle weapon, because you can see the sniper it means you can potentially kill them if your aim is good. In PS2 if you try to do counter-sniper play using a non-sniper rifle weapon, they just decloak and then they kill you.
In other FPS games during sniper vs sniper, you can see each other which means the best positioned accurate shooter is who wins. In PS2 during sniper vs sniper you can’t see each other and are scoped in waiting for one of you to decloak somewhere in your crosshairs hopefully.

When Cloaked Sniper Rifles are getting more total kills than all individual Vehicles, all individual Aircraft, all individual War Assets, all individual Construction, and most other Infantry Classes in the game. That might be an indication of a severe design problem with them impacting the entire game.
Sniper Rifles on their own are fine. Cloak as an ability is fine. Cloak with non-Sniper Rifle weapons is fine. The problem is Sniper Rifles and Cloak being used together. The solution is to make them not work together or be useable together.
Changes:

• Hunter Cloaking now can only be activated when SMGs, Scout Rifles, Amphibious Rifles, Sidearms, and Heavy Crossbows are equipped in the primary weapon slot.
  
• Nanite Armor Cloaking now can only be activated when SMGs, Scout Rifles, Amphibious Rifles, Sidearms, and Heavy Crossbows are equipped in the primary weapon slot.
  
• Hermes Cloaking now can only be activated when SMGs, Scout Rifles, Amphibious Rifles, Sidearms, and Heavy Crossbows are equipped in the primary weapon slot.
  
• MASC Cloaking now can only be activated when SMGs, Scout Rifles, Amphibious Rifles, Sidearms, and Heavy Crossbows are equipped in the primary weapon slot.
  

Give new players a Battle Rifle and a SMG unlocked from the start.

By giving new players Battle Rifles(Warden, AMR-66, Eidolon VE33, BAR-100) from the start, it allows them to fight back against sniper rifle or scout rifle using Infiltrators over longer ranges instead of being helpless sitting ducks against those Infiltrators. It also provides Infiltrators with a closer range long range weapon option to use instead of just a sniper rifle.
By giving new players SMGs(PDW-16 Hailstorm, Blitz GD-10, Sirius SX12, PMG-100) from the start, it allows Infiltrators to be more directly involved in the fights instead of sitting on hills with sniper rifles far away from the fight. It also provides all the non-MAX classes with a non-shotgun CQC weapon option to use.
Changes:

• New players now start with a Battle Rifle(Warden, AMR-66, Eidolon VE33, BAR-100) already unlocked.
  
• New players now start with a SMG(PDW-16 Hailstorm, Blitz GD-10, Sirius SX12, PMG-100) already unlocked.
  

Bringing NSO’s starting weapon selection completely up to par with the other empires

NSO didn’t receive any of the starting weapon changes that the other empires got in the NPE update and Arsenal update. Specifically in the case of it’s starting Rocket Launcher and starting Sniper Rifle.
Changes:

• NSO players now properly start with the LAV-LA(G2A Lock On) rocket launcher, instead of the LAV-AG(dumbfire) rocket launcher.
  
• NSO players now properly start with the Mako sniper rifle, instead of the SR-100.
  
• SR-100 now has access to the Ballistics Computer attachment.
  
• Mako now has access to the Straight-Pulled Bolt attachment.
  

The starting Vehicle Loadouts need to have a single max level defensive slot much like how infantry classes have a single max level suit slot.

The situation for new players trying to get into vehicles in PS2 is abysmal. Giving all the vehicles max level defensive slots from the start instead of just the Level 1’s they have now would be a huge improvement for them.
Changes:

• Sunderers now start with a max level Deploy Shield.
  
• All other Ground Vehicles (MBTs, Lightnings, ANTs, Harassers, Flashes, Javelins) now start with a max level NAR.
  
• All Aircraft(ESFs, Liberators, Valkyries, Dervish, Galaxies) now start with a max level NAR.
  
• All Water Vehicles(Corsairs) now start with a max level NAR.
  

MAX starting weapons should be dual AI weapon arms, instead of 1 AI weapon arm and 1 AV weapon arm.

MAX’s having 1 AI arm and 1 AV arm, makes them so haphazardly subpar for new players to pull for either AI or AV. Even more so if the poor new player replaces one of them with a burster hoping to use it for AA work or to substitute it for AI work. Giving the MAX dual AI arms would make them more functional and practical for new players to use.
Changes:

• MAX now have an AI weapon(M1 Heavy Cycler, Quasar VM1, NCM1 Scattercannon) equipped for the starting right arm weapon.

I remember seeing a post in here about how difficult keeping up with dental hygiene is when you have ADHD, and I just wanted to share something I do that personally helped and might help you guys too.
The ideal would be to brush your teeth 3 times a day (when you wake up, after lunch and before bed) minimum, with flossing. The issue, for me, is that I just straight up forget I need to brush my teeth and end up going weeks without even touching a toothbrush. Got myself a shitton of cavities for that lol.
So, first thing I did was set up an alarm at night. It's at 10pm for me, but y'all can change it to latesooner. The alarm is clearly labeled as "Brush My Teeth" and I set it to ring out loud and vibrate. This at leasts reminds me that brushing teeth is a Thing I should do and keeps me from forgetting about it for weeks.
The other thing I do is the life hack: brush your teeth every time you think about it. Every single time you remember about cleaning teeth you go to the bathroom and do it.
I carry around a little dental hygiene travel pack in my bag, so if I remember about it when I'm in campus I can still run to a bathroom and brush my teeth.
And you may think: that sounds very impractical. What if I brush my teeth and get hungry?
It's better to brush your teeth and eat after than just eat and not brush your teeth at all, trust me.
Doing this I went from having cavities in almost all my teeth to almost 0 cavities in a few months. It ain't perfect, but it really helps me and I hope it'll help y'all too.

I fucked up. What the hell is wrong with me.
My ex reached out after I hadn’t heard from him in a year, and asked if we could talk. I initially planned to not respond but I changed my mind and decided we should talk on the phone because I really needed closure. It also happened to be exactly 1 year to the day since we broke up so it felt almost symbolic, even though it definitely was just a shitty coincidence.
That relationship stole years of my life, brought me to the lowest point of my alcoholism and made me lose faith in the concept of love altogether. I haven’t been able to be vulnerable or even really care about anything since, and don’t reckon I’ll be able to any time soon. I haven’t loved anyone since and don’t know if I will. I was diagnosed with PTSD from the constant terror. I was terrified of him, he was out of control towards me and I felt like he hated me more than anyone on the planet. I thought this might help me move on.
Turns out he lives 3 blocks away from me now, so he asked if he could come over to talk. Fast forward a few hours and we’re fucking, screaming at the neighbors, acting exactly like the old times and I’m calling into work so I can drink and stay up until 7am. It was uncanny how much it felt like nothing had changed, like life had stood still for a year, sped up really quickly and was then exactly the same again. Now I’m shaking like a leaf, my heart is out of control spazzing and I agreed to go over to his house. I promised myself and everyone around me that I wouldn’t ever go down this road again—I know for a fact my parents and best friend will not speak to me, possibly ever again if I go back. All of my friends will disown me. I can say goodbye to having any social support. I genuinely do not think that I’ll survive this again.
But fuck does it feel good to be around another CA who just gets it. It’s not a song and dance I have to pull off with every interaction, I’m just me and that’s fine. It’s like being smothered with the softest blanket, the possibilities to be better start drifting away, but it’s so comfortable that I don’t even care. As bad as things would get, these feelings and when it was good kept me around, because it’s SO good. It’s indescribably euphoric to be around someone just as fucked up as you who sees you but can show tenderness. To not have to hide. To just be. I honestly think he’s the only person who sees me and doesn’t judge, doesn’t pity, doesn’t adore but is indifferent. And I forget everything else, clean slate. I wish I could just forget everything bad that happened and say in this headspace forever. I’m so exhausted working on myself and having superficial interactions and want to give in.
1 night and a year of progress out the window, I already feel myself getting sucked back in. What the fuck is wrong with me. I’m going I lose everything. Just because I wanted to feel something, anything.
I can’t tell anyone about this. No one would be sympathetic or even constructive, they’ll all just be disappointed and angry because he hurt them too. I don’t know what to do except have a drink and try not to throw up despite the fact I haven’t been able to eat in like 2 days.

Scary just killed Nick and couldn't even muster up any amount of crap to give, and now she casts fireball on the group. I have a feeling based on her talk with Willy that she really does care about what the group thinks of her and wants to be a part of it, but come on. It is always about her, and her constant whining about how everything and everyone is against her and that her life sucks so bad was funny at first. But lately, I've grown to hate her. Now she kills one of her supposed friend's dads and doesn't bat an eye? I get that she wasn't too happy with the suggestion she should be quarantined, but she couldn't have tried to argue that she's sorry but did what she had to do to at least make it look like she regrets it came to it?
Other than that, I'm liking how Lincoln is turning out. I feel bad for him, but he's really trying his best to step up. And Normal telling him point blank that he needs to be able to feel like he can trust him, I felt that was a good moment. Glen kicking Jodie in the nuts was funny, too. I kinda wish we got to see so more with him and his kid before that scene ended, but it was sweet seeing Nick and his bonding. Only other character I wanted to highlight was Swallows and her daughter, Hero. I'm really liking Normal's mom the more she shows up and had a good laugh when she said "dads" instead of "dad" and "uncle". I'm also curious to see Hero and what her personality will be, and how she'll be around the others.
