 | Hi everyone, submitted by GloriousGavin to Plumbing [link] [comments] I'm a first time home owner, feel free to roast me. I have no experience other than looking at this subreddit and youtube videos. My water stopped working a few weeks ago and I had a plumber come out and he changed out my pressure switch and was able to get my water running, but he told me my pressure tank was shot and advised me to replace it as soon as possible before my well pump fails. He quoted me $1800, but I wanted to do it myself mainly because I would be able to justify buying the tools to do it, which I wanted. I was able to change it this weekend, but ran into a few problems. The one that is bothering me the most is Home Depot had the wrong instruction manual uploaded for this tank, which said it would need a 10" long 1" Tee. Turns out, it needed a longer 1-1/4" Tee. I ended up buying a 1-1/4" x 1" Bushing so I can use the Tee I already purchased. I thought that would be the end of the problem, but when I got to installing it, I realized the pressure switch is too close to the tank. None of the internals were touching it, but the big plastic cover that goes over it wont go on properly because it's too close. It's currently on there, but I can't screw it in. I was thinking of either getting a longer nipple and either bending it, or maybe making one with copper pipe and two 45 degree fittings to make an offset, but I'm not sure if that would be a good idea or not. Another way I've been thinking about is that I read about someone who used 30" of 3/4" pipe with 1/4" reducers on both ends to reduce the chance of the nipple filling up with sediment and to make sure his switch doesn't get wet if it crawlspace floods. That could work here, because 30" would make the pressure switch sit above the tank. And then it wouldn't be a clearance issue. Other than that, I had to temporarily use 2 sharkbites for where it connects to the well, and where it connects to the rest of the house. There is a threaded elbow where the water comes into the house. My plan was to just remove the threaded pipe, and put a Pex to threaded 1" fitting there. I couldn't get the pipe to come out, even with a torch. I cut the pipe way too short to comfortably solder (I tried and failed), so I just put a sharkbite on it for now and I'll try again later. If it leaks, it will leak into my sump pump. Also used another sharkbite to connect to the rest of the house, and honestly that was because I was maybe 10 hours in, lazy, and also it kept dripping water so I knew I wouldn't get a good solder joint there. Everything is running again with no leaks, but I want to go back and make sure everything is done right. I'm hoping I don't have to swap out the tank tee, but I'm fully expecting everyone to say I need to switch that out and also did something disastrously wrong. My business is registered but Iām not clear on the basic process to move forward. Iām easily distracted and my searches for quick-start guides have also mushroomed into a new career :)
I want to bring all of our devices - all Apple - into an MDM for managing their apps as well as the devices themselves.
Do I need a separate MDM app for this, or is it as simple as - I just hit the ā+ā to create one or more within ABM?
I am pretty good at figuring this stuff out and configuring properly, but I need a high-level road map to get me there. I tend to overthink things and get sucked into the help sections because thereās always something new or interesting. Iām always learning but also need to move ahead and get this done. I really donāt want to call Apple.
Does anyone have some suggestions on just the basics of where to start?

So, Iām an avid anime fan, and something I see a lot of the time in anime series (aside from superpowers, 4th wall breaks, and various emotions from heart warming to heart breaking) is the concept of some character being so strong, if they attack you (weāre gonna say because theyāre having a bad day or something..) your outfit gets near completely obliterated.
Now, usually an anime where this happens usually tries to explain away why the āvictimā still has some pieces left, or how it magically repaired itself. Thatās fine, but my question isnāt about that. What I want to know is, how strong ARE these people to have been able to do something of this caliber, and how is the victim coming out unscathed with the exception of their clothes?
(To be honest, I would like this to be an actual style theory, so Iām putting this comment here in the hopes that MatPat sees this..)
I have to admit, I donāt really have a completed theory on the exact details, but Iām thinking the amount of force required might vary depending on the materials used.

Iād like to share my resume for feedback as Iāve applied to many marketing related jobs online and nada, zero call-backs, or interviews!
From reading some feedback already posted on here, I realize that having spent time making my resume look āaesthetically pleasingā hasnāt worked in my favour when applying to jobs online, due to the ATS software. - Now I am sure (hope) that at least one or two humans must have taken a look at it, but something just isnāt working, and I think Iāve figured it out BUT I need someone to confirm this or give me a better piece of advice before I alter my resume once again.
So I have an Associate Degree in Business and Marketing and my BComm majoring in Marketing. (2016 and I finished my degree finished in 2022)
On my resume Iāve included awards and recognitions from a marketing completion and projects with a lot of success. I include tabs listing skills and tools Iāve worked with in school or learned to used on my own time. I also include a link to my portfolio that includes previous school projects and also personal hobbies like photos Iāve taken travelling and a blog I recently started.
So far, it all sounds alright, right?? Shows my educational background, my creative side, and ability to put a portfolio together and reformat previous projects to show I am proficient in the skills Iāve listedā¦ youād think Iād get SOMETHINGā¦ that someone in this world would find me interesting enough to bring me on board or at least hear my ideas?
So here is what I think the problem is. Over the last 10 years Iāve worked in hospitality. Most recently had the social media manager role in one of the restaurants I worked at ( included on resume) BUT I have failed to include ALL of my other previous experience in hospitality as a server and bartender at all the other establishments. Something that on a resume, can create and gaps and red flags for the recruiter.
On my most recent attempt I have yet to include my restaurant experience but o included a cover letter on the application that talks a bit about itā¦ and still no luck.

So I am now, I willing to take a step backward and reformat my resume to single column and leave the creative mumble jumble for one that Iāll have on my portfolio.
But I guess my biggest question is whether I should include more of my hospitality experience and HOW to go about it?!
My mentality before was that if it wasnāt a corporate role, hiring managers do not want to hear about it, but I am starting to think that until I have had the opportunity to land my first actual corporate job in the marketing, creative or management department, they probably want to hear about my other experience.
So is this information relevant to hiring managers? Thank you to anyone that takes the time to provide some feedback on this matter.

We adopted a puppy, they estimated heās 3-4 months old. According to the shelter, heās been great with their dogs. I even watched him play with them, he was great about being handled, no good aggression, was great with my kids (aside from the normal puppy over excitement).
Weāve had him a week now and Iām seeing behaviors Iām not 100% sure how to handle. He goes through spurts where he gets this bug up his butt and he attacks my German shepherd if he wonāt submit to the puppy. I separate them when this happens, the puppy gets put in a different room or outside. Is there something else I can do, or something else I should do? This isnāt just frustration, or me exaggerating play, itās an out for blood wonāt let go of my dog attack. If it werenāt for the sheer size of my Loof, the puppy would be doing serious damage.
The other issue is he gets territorial with the kids. He puts his paws in your lap for ear scratches. If one of my kids comes over during this, he nips them in the face and growls at them. Can this behavior be changed? He shows no other aggression with them outside of refusal to share my or my husbandās attention with them.

If there is one thing that has been plaguing my mind it is the endless scorn Ohio has been getting on social media. As an Ohioan by birth I believe that this scorn does not accurately represent Ohio and should be seen as cringe culture victimizing people and going too far and acting in an uncouth manner that it actively borders on bigotry. I know deep down that Ohio can change and do wonderful things for the world, it just requires hope and a mutual appreciation for optimism. I believe that social media has not seen the true light that metaphorically shines in Ohio and has resorted to taking the typical route of being judgmental and borderline prejudice again.

I (f,21) have been together with my boyfriend (22) who I will refer to as Joshua. We have been together for nearly 4 months, and I still have issues with this. Right off the bat Joshua told me that he was huge on communication as our relationship is semi long distance. I grew up with my parents making me feel like an idiot for expressing my feelings and I have a hard time to do so. I have been honest with my feelings as I try really hard for him u til last night. I donāt know why but I closed off last night - Iām not sure it was because he was leaving and I was not sure when I was to see him next or what. Anyways, I was upset my entire shift at work and then when I got home, we talked but I physically couldnāt do it. I couldnāt tell him why I felt upset or why I was in that mood. I ended our talk earlier than we usually wouldāve but he was okay with it as I had to get up at 5 for work.
This morning, the fight broke out. While I did tell him my side and how I feel when he leaves, he told me I canāt enjoy his presence and all I think about is him leaving which is not true I only started to think about that as we got closer to his leaving time. I also told him that after years of being ridiculed is not easy and a few months wonāt undo all that. Joshua did understand that but he did state that itās hard on him and he doesnāt know how long he will be able to deal with this.
If I wonāt be able to fix my ways a break up will be inevitable. Yesterday just undid all the progress I made and I did apologize to him and Iām yet awaiting his response.

I am currently trying to upgrade my Razer Blade 15 (Base model 2019) ssd but Iām running into an issue. The upgrade is the Samsung PM9A1 PCIe Gen 4 2TB ssd. I installed it onto the laptop but when I turn on the laptop and press F12 to access the boot menu the keyboard doesnāt work therefore I canāt get to the boot menu to reinstall Windows. None of the other buttons work either but when I put back the original ssd the keyboard works fine. Anyone know what the problem might be?

I've been in venlafaxine 75mg for years while living in the US and Japan--never bothered to check whether I was getting Effexor specifically or an off brand. Recently moved to the UK and when I got the perscription filled the pills were round rather than oval and specifically labeled Sunveniz XL--definitely a different type than I'd ever taken before. However they are venlafaxine 75mg extended release.
I've been having a pretty hard time emotionally over the past month though. There are a lot of different stressors and possible causes, so I didn't consider my antidepressants. But when I went in this time they filled the perscription with Effexor XL, and I noticed that I've been considerably more stable since the day after I started that pack.
Is this something people ever experience switching between venlafaxine extended release brands?

I'm fairly new to HASS and am trying to send commands from it to another PC running Eventghost. EG can receive HTTP commands via POST/GET commands. I installed the HACS integration, Webhook Service https://github.com/HCookie/Webhook-Service-home-assistant
I'm able to create an automation and pull up the webhook service, but it's asking for JSON data to send to the webhook address. JSON is completely new to me. I'm just wanting to send a simple POST command, can anyone point me in the right direction?

Kinda funny - I picked up on something at the very end of the audiobook for 11/22/63 that amused the hell out of me - spoilers for the end of that book.
When Epping/Amberson is talking to the alternate version of Harry Dunning at the end, and getting the rundown of all the alternate history that happened after he saved Kennedy, thereās a very amusing Easter egg for those of us familiar with James Ellroy and his Underworld Trilogy (which consists of American Tabloid, The Cold Six Thousand, and Bloodās a Rover) when weāre told about the eventual assassination of Martin Luther King in that timeline. Turns out it was committed by a renegade FBI agent named Dwight Holly - hah!
Interestingly this isnāt the only connection - both 11/22/63 and the latter two books in the Underworld Trilogy are narrated by Craig Wasson - and I donāt think itās a coincidence either, I remember King talking about how extremely impressed he was with Wassonās narration - so it stands to reason he would get him to narrate his own JFK-themed novel.
Edit: oh god I misspelled Ellroyās name in the title - itās not my fault though, itās the damn iPhone spellcheck that corrected it to āElroyā by itself, and I didnāt catch it sigh
