I (22F) was 18 years old at that time. In those days, I was a party girl, going out three times a week and drinking a lot. That time was wild. I decided to host a party, it was my first party and I rented a space in my village, it was a cabin on location for events, very cheap for locals. I organized everything with my (18F) best friend, let’s called her Marie and another friend (18F) named Rose. We were having fun decorating and preparing the party, I was so stressed about the party was going to be lame. I decided to cope the stress with alcohol. When the party started and people arrived, I was already tipsy. I invited unrelated people I knew from middle school to high school and some friends I made at college. Even though no one knew anyone, the party was great and people were meeting each other. I had a boyfriend(19) who was coming with his friends, we were around thirty. It was late summer so the weather was mild and most people were outside talking, laughing and dancing.
I had this middle school friend let’s called her Luna, who binged drink and threw up at the entrance of the cabin. She even hurt her foot and so she had some difficulties to walk. I was a that point, drunk, but I wanted to help my friend. I asked her if she wanted to be put to bed and she said yes. I took her arm and guided her to my house.
I live in a small village in the countryside, so it takes less than 5 minutes to get to my house.It was super safe, I used to wander alone in the streets late at night (1AM -4AM) when I had insomnias and nothing ever happened. It was pitch dark, we were the only ones outside. As we walked, we saw a white suv, but I didn’t think much of it. I came home, gave her some water and let her sleep in my room. I was alone with my sister that night. I warned her of the presence of my friend and headed back to the party.
I was not walking straight, since I was so intoxicated. I saw the white suv parked near the farm. As I continued walking, a black car stopped next to me and opened its window. I looked at the man (I still don’t know what age he was, it was so dark), he said to me “I’ve seen this white suv following you for a while, it is dangerous you should come to my car”. I was drunk but I directly felt that something was wrong. I just answered that I was okay and my friends were nearby. He insisted, he repeated to come to his car for my safety. My inner alarm went off as I was trying to walk faster and answered again that I was okay. Suddenly, I heard the car’s doors opened, he was not alone. I didn’t think twice, I just ran for my life.
I arrived quickly to the cabin, my friends were all drunk, one of my drunk male friends was complimenting Rose. They saw me coming at them in a hurry. The male friend looked at me and started to compliment me. I told him, “Man, someone tried to abduct me”. He stared at me and told me that I shouldn’t have left alone, that it was not safe.
The party lasted until 4AM, people who didn’t drink, took their car and left, the few others were inside the cabin and started to talk. One of my boyfriend’s friends was mad on the Snapchat group because he forgot his knife at the cabin (why did he carry a knife with him at the party?). I told them about what happened and we were all spooked.
After that event I stopped wandering in the village late at night but I hosted a few other parties. I have never seen this man and his black car again.
Most people keep telling me how great the party was, a couple who met at the party are still together. I still wonder to this day, what would have happened to me if I didn’t react that spontaneously.

Introduction

If you have no idea how to dress and want a simple basic wardrobe guide / shopping list to get started, this post is for you.
Alternatively, for those of you who want to start traversing beyond the basics, I've included some baby steps that are perfectly safe to incorporate in almost any beginner's wardrobe, but offer a little bit more interest and creativity than the most basic of the basic.
Disclaimer: This guide is targeted toward more traditional clothing styles (essentially, a safe blend of workwear, Americana, and prep). It is not the only way to dress well! If these clothes simply don't appeal to you at all, that's totally okay. Consider looking into other styles, and reading stuff from a variety of fashion communities - for example, see if things appeal more to you in streetwear, malefashion, navyblazer, etc.

The Basic Wardrobe - visual guide HERE

Tops

• Plain crew-neck t-shirts in neutral colors - white and gray are most versatile, but other neutrals such as navy or beige, or simple patterns (e.g., stripes) can be nice.
  
• Button-front shirts - oxford-cloth button-downs (OCBDs) in white and light blue, flannel/chamois shirts in plaids or solid neutrals
  
• Baby steps: Try out graphic tees, OCBDs with university stripe patterns, chambray shirts, or a polo shirt (short sleeve or long sleeve). For cool weather, heavyweight shirts in twill, flannel, chamois, denim, or moleskin can keep you a bit warmer, while in warm weather, linen or seersucker shirts can keep you cool.
  
• Avoid: Graphic tees with meme references, jokes, etc. These are inherently unfashionable.
  

Bottoms

• Straight fit jeans in dark indigo, black, and/or medium wash
  
• Straight fit chinos in tan (khaki), caramel, and/or olive
  
• If you want to wear shorts, 7-9" chino shorts in khaki, olive, or navy
  
• Baby steps: Try corduroy pants, cargo pants, linen pants, fatigues, or double knee pants. If you're interested in tucking in a shirt and wearing a layer on top, try looking for pants with higher rises (~11"+). If you're in a "sky's out, thighs out" mood, try getting a pair or two of short shorts with a ~5" inseam.
  
• Avoid: Chinos with a synthetic flatness and luster. Avoid black chinos, which can look a little formal.
  

Mid-layers

• Crew-neck sweater in gray, oatmeal, navy, mustard yellow, or maroon. Keep an eye out for brushed Shetland wool sweaters for some added texture.
  
• Crew-neck sweatshirt or hoodie in gray
  
• Baby steps: Consider an overshirt, cardigan, fair isle sweater, turtleneck sweater, or a chunky cable knit/Aran sweater.
  
• Avoid: Anything too tight and slim. Sweaters and mid-layers are meant to have a bit more space to allow for layering underneath.
  

Outerwear (as needed for your specific climate)

• Light jackets such as a trucker jackets in indigo/black denim or tan/olive cotton, chore coats in olive/brown, or field jackets in olive/brown/gray.
  
• Raincoat in olive, gray, or black, although vibrant colors can work too.
  
• Warm jacket such as an overcoat or parka in dark neutrals (gray/brown for overcoats, olive/gray/black for parkas).
  
• Baby steps: There is a whole wide world of jackets out there, both light and heavy, so look into several different varieties to figure out what you like.
  
• Avoid: Trying to skimp out on jackets if you live in a cold/rainy climate. Being too cold or getting soaked is miserable!
  

Shoes

• Canvas or leather sneakers
  
• Casual brown leather derbies and/or loafers, blucher mocs, or boots
  
• Baby steps: Try chunkier athletic sneakers or chunky leather shoes if they appeal to you.
  
• Avoid: Brown minimal sneakers and these sorts of hybrid dress sneaker abominations. Avoid cheap (or faux) leather, which degrades fast and wears in poorly. Avoid wearing shoes two days in a row - they need to air out between wears. Instead, rotate your pairs and use shoe trees to improve longevity.
  

Casual tailoring (optional, if needed for a job/event or if you like to wear it)

• Navy Blazer
  
• Wool trousers in various shades and textures of gray and/or brown
  
• Baby steps: Try a sport coat with some texture or pattern, such as a brown houndstooth or gray tweed herringbone. Try a pocket square in a puff fold to accessorize with your blazer or sport coat.
  
• Avoid: Wearing blazers or sport coats without getting them tailored. Make sure they're long enough and that they fit properly (not too slim, not too loose). Read this.
  

Semi-formal tailoring (optional, if needed for a job/event or if you like to wear it)

• Navy or charcoal suit, tailored
  
• White poplin dress shirt
  
• Oxford dress shoes in black or brown
  
• A belt that matches your shoes
  
• Simple dark tie (e.g., burgundy grenadine)
  
• Baby steps: Unfortunately, there's not much room to experiment with semi-formal or formal clothing. Your best bet is to stick to the basics unless you really know what you're doing.
  
• Avoid: Black suits, unless you're specifically dressing for a funeral. In general, it's recommended to avoid wearing vests. Don't wear your oxford shoes with less formal outfits. Avoid dress shirts in black or saturated colors. It's generally best to avoid wearing a tie without a jacket or top layer. Avoid skinny ties - stick to ~2.75-3.5" (or 7-9 cm) width. For beginners, avoid bow ties unless 1) it's a black bow tie with a tuxedo (at a black tie event), or 2) you're dressing for prom (go crazy!) Finally, while monkstrap shoes had their moment, that moment has since passed.

In this new tournament style contest, users will face head to head in a 1v1 bracket system where their Stands face off throughout the month, until eventually only 1 Stand is left standing!
The winners are decided by the community themselves, through polling as to which Stand User they think would win against the other! The winner will move onto the next round.
There will be 5 elements to consider as each battle will take place under these conditions. These conditions are Location, Time, Weather, Population and Awareness. These conditions are randomly generated and cannot be ignored, unless the Stand itself can change them naturally in their favor. Ignoring said conditions without the use of the Stand ability will result in a mod comment correcting the user. They are chosen at random every tournament.

In order to participate:
You must have an existing Stand on the Reddit page, complete with ability, user and stats. Must be a legitimate Stand, so no "Joke" Stands. (In regards to the Potential Stat, any arguments surrounding this Stat will be monitored and must be cleared by a mod)
You must link the page of the Stand in the comment section below within the set days of the announcement. Any submission passed those days will not be considered.
Post may not be an Art post, as these types of posts win through popularity rather than substance. Art posts can be modified to text posts, but cannot link to the Art post.
Post cannot come from submissions to the weekly Stand contest of that time, to keep both fair.

Every set of days a round of fights begins. Each Stand will face 1v1, though in the event of an uneven bracket, special rounds may be created to even it out. Once the polling for the Stands are created, the creators must comment as to why their Stands will defeat the other in the comment section. They must solely argue from their perspective, as well as mention the conditions above within the argument. No other comments can be made until at least one creator has stated their reasoning. The creators may return to edit their response once posted, but must redact other posts that followed the original logic and lead. The mods are not responsible for reminding creators to make the comments.
Failure to make a strategy on how they will win will result in a disqualification.
They are not allowed to promote their Stand anywhere. They may only answer questions given by viewers about their Stands, Stats and users, or give more clarification as to why they would win.
If your Stand happens to win, you proceed to the next round where the process repeats again until only 1 Stand remains.
Requiem/Heaven stands are banned for general overpowered nature.

ACT stands are barred, as to not give so many abilities. No accommodation for ACT stands are allowed.
Users must be living, human users. In the case where a user is given but no details about them are shown whatsoever, the personality of Koiche Hirose will be the default setting, as he is known to be a reliable guy. (Subject to change in future tournaments).
Weapon carry is prohibited unless needed by the Stand, like Sex Pistols or Manhattan Transfer. Weapons can be picked up from the area.
Time based stands are barred, as they have become too confusing and overpowered. (Subject to change.)
The act of Stand Phasing and Stand Flying must now be an ability a Stand must possess to do. This was reached due to the odd uses this ability allows, as well as most stands not using the ability unless it fits with its other abilities, save a few moments within the series.

Seeking advice. I’ve been with the same company for nearly 2 decades. I’ve had 5 promotions and have been in my current position coming up to 2 years in June. I’m the companies coordinatooffice supervisor and I was wondering if I could just resign from my position and go back to my previous position which is in the same department. My position is a set salary at $101,400.00 USD plus a year end bonus which last year was jack due to the pandemic, merrily $3k USD. But my previous position was $36.87 USD per hour, with unlimited time and a half over time after 40 hours per week, plus quarterly profit shares of around $1k (company has 300k plus employees) and end of year sick payback for sick days I didn’t use. I’ve seen at least $30-$50k USD decrease in my earnings for each year since I’ve been in this position. I’m not 100% happy, a lot is also having to deal with toxic employees on a manager level and being held at a certain stand while other office professionals that work under me are held at other standards.. Come to work sit in their offices or cubical and BS all day, eat, sleep, snack and watch YouTube and such all day. When I was a regular Joe, life was much easier at work, and I still had the same work ethic as I do now.. wasn’t one of the lazy ones.. I’m the first employee in my city to hold the position as the created the positions 2 years ago for each office within the company around the world. My boss took I’ll 3 weeks ago, her boss the MD does know shit and is relying on me and I just can’t take the pressure, especially for the low pay. I deal with government officials to keep the business going, my bosses boss are in Miami, seem not to know how things run at our office and are 100% clueless and told me to figure it out. This is a department manager in my office that is above me, been with the company for 28 years and doesn’t know shit of how the business runs in my department sector. Without my department running, the company cannot operate. A government official got a wife that my boss was out and the rumor was that she no longer works with us, if she doesn’t.. all work in the building as to seize as she has is the only person with the power of attorney to run the local company. We can’t even hire new employees right now. We are unable to see our companies local fund balance, and we are depending on funds to be paid to the government and don’t even know if it is happening. Sorry for the running river.. I guess I’m just venting.. but I don’t mind doing the same work that I’m doing now, I just want to be back on hourly pay vs salary. 😕

Hi all! Asking for shakedown and recommendations for a 4-days expedition to the Peak District over the Easter bank holiday. We've done a dozen weekend trips since last year, but this will be our first time camping for more than 1 night (I use to thru-hike regularly when I was a scout, but that was a decade ago). It's also our first time in the Peak District.
All of the gear on the list is tried and true except for the alcohol stove, the dog pack, and the flexi lead. Our dog is a fairly anxious rescue, we tried a regular lead and a bungee running lead in the past, neither worked well so I'm hoping this time we can all have a more enjoyable experience.
We did a weekend trip last week to the Isle of Portland, pretty wet and 27mph winds, everything worked well. This was the first time we caught any real bad weather in the Lanshan, and it worked an absolute treat. It was also my first time with the Atom+, which made me confident that I can drop the hip belt.
Current base weight: 4864g
Location/temp range/specific trip description: Easter 2023 in the Peak District (UK), day 1 Bamford to Edale, day 2 Edale to Crowden (Pennine Way), day 3 Crowden to Black Tor (south east of Howden Reservoir), day 4 Black Tor to Bamford. Current temp range looks like 3-13C, overcast but dry. I'm not counting on this weather forecast and assume we will at least get some rain.
Budget: Limited, maybe £100 for considerable weight saving/quality of life improvements, especially for the dog. FAK probably needs some work. Things I'm considering:

• Atom Packs fanny pack, but I don't think it would get here in time.
• Dog sleeping bag, but he seems to enjoy borrowing into my girlfriend's footbox at night.
• A lighter fleece, I love the R1 and if last week was any indication I will probably be wearing it 80% of the time. The usual recommendations (KUIU Peloton and Alpha Direct hoodies) are hard to buy in the UK.
• I'm saving for a DCF tent, probably next year though.

Non-negotiable Items: Rain jacket, my experience with Frogg Toggs in UK weather has been really miserable.
Solo or with another person?: With girlfriend and dog.
Additional Information: I've included the dog's pack, on paper he would be able to carry up to 5Kg but I don't want to push it. On paper it looks like plenty water sources on the way, but I'm nervous about going down to 500ml carry. We also don't have a GPS device, I was in Dartmoor and the Italian/Swiss Alps last year and didn't feel like I needed one, but I don't know how remote the Peak District is in comparison. I expect plenty traffic at least on the Pennine Way.

I'm a somewhat of a Rick fan and I've been craving these for a very long time. They ARE very good. I'm honestly in love with these. I saw em in retail and let me tell you, these are awfully close. If you don't mind them not being full grain calf leather (you can't even tell on feet tbh), then they're almost identical really. No flaws at all. BUT, if you're buying Rick for the first time (especially mainline), be prepared for the infamous heel drag. It also happens on reps as well. (authentic to retail experience lmao). The insole feels very nice and soft, which is unexpected, also the laces are very soft as well.

20 bucks for AF1 was a revelation for me lmao. No one cares about them being fake or not, so it's a perfect way to save money and not pay more than $100 for an af1. They're not exactly identical (see backtab in pics) as the Nike Air logo is smaller than retail. Also, the metal thingy is significantly cheaper, lighter and thinner. Laces definetly don't feel as good as retail. I'll see how leather will hold up. I don't really care bout any flaws honestly, it's just an af1.

Next year I will apply to be a new teacher mentor to move over a lane (6% raise while I do the job). We won a great raise in our last contract so we can finally be paid almost as much as everyone around us!

For those keeping track at home, my monthly gross is typically 5,871.66 and my net is typically 3,804.94
Why typically?

• If we have 3 paychecks in a month: enjoy the big fat no medical or union deduction!
• …unless it’s April onwards, when they deduct health insurance from EVERY paycheck to cover your summer months (we call it double deduction season)
• in December we get a premium holiday (1/2 medical deduction)
• I also run an outdoors club at work, which I am paid $35/hr when I run the club and additional pay for certain trips (last month I was paid $375 alone for our annual weekend overnight before vacation). This can be wildly inconsistent but let’s just say I have an extra $100-150 to play with each month.

Still, looking through the week and taking time to step back I realize just how quality my support network is and for that I'm very grateful.

Hello fellow migraineurs. I have had migraines for 25 years and was hopeful they would stop in menopause but it hasn’t happened. I currently take naratriptan and cambia and get trigger point injections (which don’t seem to be helping much) and I take baclofen which seems to help my tight traps and neck (a bit).
My question is supplements. I am not good at taking Magnesium because I struggle to swallow the pills. Has anyone had success with using Natural Calm.
Any advice on trying Cefaly (neuro hasn’t mentioned it)?
Also I bought a Thera migraine hat (which is nice but only stays cold for 15 minutes). Any recommendations for an extra hat which stays cold longer?
My migraines seem to be affected by hormones, sleep, tight muscles, and weather. I often now get 5 day migraines which only somewhat respond to meds (the pain by my eye never leaves and it’s significantly affecting my life).

Hello. So my story is a little bit long but here we go.
First dizziness episode:
I am currently 25 years old. I had my first episode of dizziness in June 2019. At that time, I was already hypocondriac for a good 6 months and I just got out of surgery for a kyst. Suddenly one day I started feeling the ground moving under my feet even tho I was standing still. I freaked out. The days after, my symptoms kept getting worse: constant dizziness, lightheadedness, swaying, brain fog, muscle pain, extreme light sensitivity, blurry vision etc... I felt like I was constantly on a boat. When I was lying down, my body was moving like a boat on sea, when I was standing still the floor was moving under my feet, when i was walking it was like the ground was always soft, like a trampoline.
Fortunately it was at the beginning of the summer between 2 university years. So I went to see all the specialists available under the sun: ENT doctor, neurologist, cardiologist, ER, Rheumatologist... I did CT scans, brain MRI, EMG, ECG, blood test etc. Nothing. Everything was fine. All the doctors were telling me "it's just anxiety, it's in your head, just relax". But I was feeling worst and worst. I gained weight because I was bed ridden. I lost a lot of money going to the capital seeing doctors, but also chiropractors, acupuncters, lot of alternative medecine. I was fed up. I just wanted to die. At that time, I diagnosed myself MdDs because I had all the symptoms and I was feeling much better in a moving vehicule, which was the main factor for a MDDS diagnosis. But I went to see a ENT doctor specialised in dizziness and he told me it was PPPD or maybe a mix of both it was impossible to know for sure.
After 3 months and being still dizzy, it was time to go back to college. I wasn't sure I would be able to but I forced myself and started my 2nd year of law school. At this time, I had started SSRI medication and I was taking valium which was helping me a lot functionning "normally". By doing things, going to class, doing sports, moving myself, I started to slowly noticed improvements. Several times, I thought I was healed but then I got relapses. It was really hard but I kept going ang going. After nearly 10 months on symptoms, I was nearly completly in remission in March 2020, just at the beginning of Covid.
The three years after that, I was completly normal. I continued my studies, went in an student exchange abroad and I am now finishing my masters in corporate law.
Second dizziness episode (now):
This leads up to now. My symptoms came back 5 weeks ago. Unfortunately. I was under a lot of stress and anxiety since 1 month, believing I had brain cancer or MS because I had weird symptoms. I was almost sure I was going to die. I also suffered a hearthbreak and I am really anxious about my future. But I'm not sure it explains the come back of my symtoms. One day, 5 weeks ago, I was shopping and I started feeling dizzy in a shop. Then when I walked in the metro station, I started to notice the ground moving under my feet. I didn't really paid much attention, I didn't want to believe it. But the following day it was way worse, I was feeling extremely dizzy. The ground was moving under my feet and it was way worse when I was in a still position (standing, sitting or laying down). Walking outside, I rapidly get brain fog and lightheadedness.
I went to see all the specialists all over again (less this time because I know now what I have) and the same doctor told me after a battery of tests that I had PPPD. So I started to take back SSRI medication, valium to function normally and started vestibular therapy last week. I am really desperate because I start a very important internship in a law firm. Then I am supposed to do a preparatory class this summer to pass the bar exam on september... I feel like my dreams are crushed because of this. I wake up every morning hoping this monster is gone but I almost immediatly feel my body moving like on a boat so i know it is still there. I fight everyday. I continued to go to class, to go to the gym etc but it is very very hard. I am really anxious about the upcoming weeks as I will be sitting behind a desk 10 hours a day and it is my worst position for my symptoms. I really hope that the SSRI medication will do wonders but I am alreay on week 4...
