2013.06.07 03:19 captaintuneup The art of Bucket Drums

Buckets are amazingly adaptable. You can transport things in them with ease, you can sit on them, you can even use one as a mini table. Another fantastic use for buckets is for drumming. Whether it's the standard 5-gallon buckets or the 12 quart rectangular Rubbermaid trash cans, anyone can assemble a decent drum kit out of buckets. That is what this subreddit is all about--the art of bucket drumming.

2023.06.09 16:01 mintyfreshteadrinker Quick Tire swap question

Hunting down tire noise v wheel bearing issue. Tires on left visibly have heel to toe inner tread wear. Both on left side only - during the pandemic i failed to keep up with rotations etc - in process of also replacing shocks, tie rods etc….
Can i swap both tires on the left over to the right and vice versa to see if tire noise is moved? Short test drive - i know I can’t do this permanently - just for a conformation I’m not wasting money on new tIre’s (front wheel bearings are relatovely new).
It’s an AWD - tires are Michelin defender lax m/s

thanks

2023.06.09 16:01 GavlarFTW Recently returned to the game - still the same WTF questions

Just recently started playing this game a lot more after a fairly long break from it and boy does it frustrate as nothing seems to make sense?
  1. Weapon stats and types mean nothing - doesn't matter whether you choose an SMG or an AR or an LMG - it seems that distance no longer matters based on weapon type and an SMG can beam you from 100M plus and with the same TTK as an AR or an LMG
  2. WTF is with either the hit registration or random spread on waepons? It used to be that if your weapon had high recoil you burst fire it to get better accuracy - that seems to make no difference at all these days. As with point 1 above makes no sense choosing a higher damage weapon that has higher recoil.
  3. A .50 calibre Vehicle turret seems to do minimal splash damage at best and you need to hit a person what 3 times to kill them? Same as an AR or LMG at close range? Mortar splash damage is marginally better but still about as devastating as pushing a bunch of mentos into a coke bottle. The minigun turrents are only really there to make noise it seems.......
  4. Doesn't matter if you shoot the tracks or wheels of vehicles - apparently the only damage vectoring they bothered to include in aiding taking out a vehicle is from directly behind it? I mean if you shoot the tracks or wheels you get a 'part disabled' message pop up - the thing is still operable and moving fine - what is disabled exactly?
  5. Aim assist on console operates in two fashions - either inadvertently dragging your crosshair away from your intended target or not present at all. I mean I get that having played all the previous games up until BF4 on PC that console is going to feel different but it shouldn't feel 'unplayable and luck based'
  6. Footsteps make no sense - either they cut in very very loudly all of a sudden in a direction thats not easily discernable or are non existent.
Now, before people jump up and down on me - I'm not saying I'm not having any fun - there are some 'fun' moments and I do enjoy some games while finding others really frustrating but for all their talk of 'fixing' this game I've returned personally to find that not that much is really fixed? I mean its playable enough but its still not battlefield.

2023.06.09 16:00 ResponsibleLog9 How do you guys manage barspin clearance (or lack thereof)?

new to fixies (i am a mtb'er) and want to buy/build a cheap fixie to commute to work, wheelie, and learn how to barspin.
I have an old road bike frame that i could turn into a fixie (I can slide the axle for tension), although with it's 27.0" wheels, the front wheel hits the downtube considerably when fully turned, nothing i could fix by getting a skinnier tire.
My question is, would people still try and build out this bike and maybe put like 26" wheels on to barspin, and/or buy a fork with like different offset or something?
Or would the best solution be to just buy a bike or frame that is more suitable for barspins (and if so, then how can i tell?)
TLDR: want to Buy/Build a Barspin Bike on a Budget

  • Historical Move v Implied Move: We determine the historical volatility (log variance of daily gains) of the underlying asset (HV) and compare that to the current implied volatitlity (IV) of the option price. This is used to determine the Call or Put Premium.
  • Expiration: 2023-06-09.
  • Call/Put Pricing: How much extra you are paying for IV relative to HV. Low numbers mean "cheaper." High numbers mean "expensive." A 1 means "fairly" priced.
  • Efficiency: This the bid/ask spreads and the depth of the order book relative to the price and approximates the cost of a round trip trade. Lower numbers are less efficient than higher numbers.
  • E.R.: Days unitl the next Earnings Release.
  • Direction: This ranges from -100 (bearish) to +100 (bullish). It accounts for RSI, trend, moving averages and put/call skew over the past 4 weeks.
  • Why isn't my stock on this list? It doesn't have "weeklies", the underlying is "too cheap", or the options markets are too illiquid (open interest) to qualify for this strategy. 480 underlyings are used in this report and only the top results end up passing the criteria for each filter.
  • How should this be improved? Do you have any suggestions or notice any bugs with this report?

2023.06.09 15:55 Onyx5490 Thyrsus (non-bp) testing

Well, decided to buy the new gun to see if the BP is worth buying at all, and so far, I'm not impressed.
Upsides: -Its cool looking -only 11 energy, can get a module without a generator (you'll likely use a reload module, because without it it sucks) Downsides: -Low damage -Not having the perk charged reduces your (already tiny) DPS even more. Finding a wreck nearby (you won't make any wrecks with damage like that) is impossible, unless you have a half competent team, and shooting without the perk is masochism. -Huge hitbox, and unlike Avalanche, it's impossible to armor, and unlike Kaiju, it's WIDE.
Maybe it's because I tried using it on wheels, maybe if you use hovers, Omni, or the new legs its performance will improve, but man, it sucks, especially in comparison to adapters or astraeus. Even the assemblers are much better.

  • Historical Move v Implied Move: We determine the historical volatility (log variance of daily gains) of the underlying asset and compare that to the current implied volatitlity (IV) of the option price. This is used to determine the Call or Put Premium associated with the pricing of options (implied volatility).
  • Directional Bias: Ranges from -100 (bearish) to +100 (bullish) and accounts for RSI, price trend, moving averages, and put/call skew over the past 6 weeks.
  • Priced Move: given the current option prices, how much in dollar amounts will the underlying have to move to make the call/put break even. This is how much vol the option is pricing in. The expected move.
  • Expiration: 2023-07-14.
  • Call/Put Premium: How much extra you are paying for the implied move relative to the historic move. Low numbers mean options are "cheaper." High numbers mean options are "expensive."
  • Efficiency: This factor represents the bid/ask spreads and the depth of the order book relative to the price of the option. It represents how much traders will pay in slippage with a round trip trade. Lower numbers are less efficient than higher numbers.
  • E.R.: Days unitl the next Earnings Release. This feature is still in beta as we work on a more complete list of earnings dates.
  • Why isn't my stock on this list? It doesn't have "weeklies", the underlying is "too cheap", or the options markets are too illiquid (open interest) to qualify for this strategy. 480 underlyings are used in this report and only the top results end up passing the criteria for each filter.

2023.06.09 15:52 cant_be_pun_seen Gas Prices, and inflation, are very clearly greed induced.

Oil prices have been the same as they were in October 2018 for a few months now. Around $70/barrel.
National average in Oct 2018 was 2.90/gallon. National average today is 3.54/gallon.
Exxon, for instance, reported anywhere from 75% to 168% in year over year quarterly growth from June 2021 - September 2022. To be fair, this is after seeing negative YoY growth from March 2019 - December 2020. But, funny thing about the negative YoY growth that "big oil" experienced during COVID.. it wasnt caused solely by COVID. Exxon saw negative growth near 20% nearly a year before COVID brought down the world. In fact, the negative growth during COVID was very similar to the downturn from September 2014 - September 2016.
What I really want to emphasize here is the next part: I just laid out 2 separate downturns in Exxons history. Both were similar in length, and both were similar in size, albeit COVID being a little higher(5-10% higher during some quarters).
After the COVID downturn, Exxon reported quarterly YoY growth ranging from 75% to 168% over the course of about 6 quarters from 2021-2022. 4 out of those 6 quarters were 120% or higher.
After the 2014-2016 downturn, Exxon reported quarterly YoY growth ranging from 24% to 44% over 8 or 9 quarters from 2016-2018.
There is no precedent for the amount of greed we saw from corporations last year. Fuel prices were a driving force as well - and its very clear to me that greed was the driving force behind increased fuel prices after taking this small dive, confirming what we all should know already. So what we have here is compounded greed that ultimately made many things unaffordable over the past year - greed from the transportation side, greed from the producer greed from the supplier, and then of course regular YoY cost increases/inflation that should be expected. When you compound all of these increases into one final price that we all pay, you get record profits for everyone except the consumer, who gets fucked.
Id be willing to bet that YoY growth trends are similar for most corporations over the past 1-2 years, and do not match prior downturn years, just like with oil corporations.
And all they had to do was say "sorry, gas prices are high and COVID caused so many supply chain issues!!!" Yeah, you're not increasing production back to pre pandemic levels because you can just jack your prices up 200% and make record profits while not having to hire more employees.
America is fucked unless we do something about corporate greed. Greed is to be expected from the individual, but we cannot have monopolies run around completely unchecked.
If I left out something here, please point it out, thanks!

2023.06.09 15:51 AZIL2020 Drone service providers - are they any good?

Hey everyone. I’m trying to get some experience and a bit of money flying my mini 2 commercially. I joined zeitview and dronegenuity but it seems there’s no one at the steering wheel. Joined zeitview (drone base) 2-3 months ago and got zero notifications. Their website has multiple broken links and it looks meh. Applied to dronegenuity 3’week ago didn’t hear back. Emailed their support. Crickets.
Anyone here has good experience with them? Anyone from those 2 around here that can help?
Thanks!

Polling /Refresh Timeouts
Hi, i'am querying various systems such as switches, servers, and UPS with my Zabbix server. After setting up the dashboard for the UPS, I noticed that the polling interval is not being followed as shown in the settings/templates. If you look at the output current, you can see a defined interval of 30 seconds, but it still doesn't execute after 5.27 minutes. This delay can even extend up to an hour. It only sporadically queries certain values.
Four servers that are queried via ILO SNMP also regularly experience issues where the host is apparently unreachable. This is clearly evident in the logs, but the cause is unknown to me. I have already increased all configurable pollers, but without success. All Systems are connected to Zabbix via SNMPv3.

"Conquer the majestic terrains of Leh Ladakh on two wheels, embracing the thrill of adventure while prioritizing safety."
Introduction: Embarking on a thrilling leh ladakh bike trip from delhi has become a dream adventure for many avid travelers and motorcycle enthusiasts. The awe-inspiring landscapes, majestic mountains, and challenging roads make it an unforgettable journey. However, before setting out on this epic adventure, it's essential to consider the safety aspects, particularly regarding the unique terrain and unpredictable weather conditions that await you. In this blog, we'll delve into the safety concerns and precautions you should take to ensure a secure and memorable experience. 🏍️⛰️☀️❄️
Understanding the Terrain of Leh Ladakh:
The ladakh trip by bike is renowned for its rugged and breathtaking terrain. From treacherous mountain passes to winding roads with steep gradients, it demands a certain level of skill and expertise in biking. Understanding the terrain is crucial for assessing the safety quotient of your journey. Here are some key points to consider:

  1. Mountain Passes and High Altitude: Leh Ladakh is dotted with high mountain passes, such as Khardung La and Chang La, which pose challenges like thin air, low oxygen levels, and altitude sickness. Acclimatization is vital to avoid any health risks.
  2. Unpredictable Weather: The weather in Leh Ladakh can be highly unpredictable, with temperature fluctuations, sudden snowfall, and rainfall. It's crucial to be prepared for such weather changes and stay updated with reliable forecasts.
Precautions for a Safe Bike Trip:
To ensure your safety during a ladakh bike trip, here are some essential precautions to follow:

  1. Bike Condition and Maintenance: Ensure your bike is in excellent condition before the trip. Check brakes, tires, engine, and all other crucial components. Carry necessary spare parts and tools for minor repairs.
  2. Proper Riding Gear: Invest in high-quality riding gear, including helmets, riding jackets, pants, gloves, and sturdy boots. These will provide protection in case of falls or accidents.
  3. Physical Fitness and Acclimatization: Leh Ladakh's high altitude demands good physical fitness. Engage in regular exercise and cardiovascular activities before the trip. Additionally, allow sufficient time for acclimatization to adapt to the thin air and altitude.
  4. Stay Hydrated and Eat Well: Drinking plenty of water helps combat altitude sickness and keeps you hydrated throughout the journey. Consume nutritious meals that provide adequate energy for the demanding terrain.
  5. Ride in a Group or with a Guide: Consider riding in a group or hiring a professional guide who is familiar with the region. They can offer valuable insights, navigation assistance, and immediate help in case of emergencies.
Safety Measures During the Trip:
While on the ladakh bike tour, adhere to the following safety measures:

  1. Observe Speed Limits: Stick to speed limits and ride at a comfortable pace, especially on narrow and winding roads. Avoid overtaking at risky locations.
  2. Be Cautious on Curves and Gradients: Slow down while negotiating sharp curves and steep gradients. Use appropriate gears and maintain control of your bike.
  3. Watch out for Wildlife: Leh Ladakh is home to diverse wildlife, including wild yaks and marmots. Stay cautious and maintain a safe distance from them to avoid any conflicts or accidents.
  4. Carry Basic Medications and First Aid Kit: Pack essential medications such as altitude sickness pills, pain relievers, and basic first aid supplies. This will help you handle any minor health issues during the trip.
Conclusion: Undertaking a delhi to ladakh bike trip package is undoubtedly an adventurous and exhilarating experience. By understanding the unique terrain, preparing well, and taking necessary precautions, you can ensure a safe and memorable journey. Embrace the beauty of the region while prioritizing your safety and that of your fellow riders. So, gear up, pack your essentials, and get ready to conquer the challenging terrains of Leh Ladakh! 🌄🏔️🛵✨

Vote for the next 3 songs to be eliminated in the link above. I flipped the order presentation since I felt it looked a little better.
We will pause the poll during the Metallica protest on Jun 12th and 13th and keep the poll going as normal once the sub reopens. For those of you that are protesting for longer, I commend you, and I apologize that you can’t participate in the last few rounds unless you want to DM me your email address and I will email the poll to you. To have this wrapped up by the 12th, I would have had to rush the final few rounds, and that would very much ruin the flow of the final rounds as they should be some of the most entertaining. I will be protesting reddit completely those 2 days, and hope some changes come!

2023.06.09 15:31 RegretAggressive6294 Let’s talk about Far off on YOTBR

I picked up the collectors edition when they had it for sale again on the official site to get that cool book and the making of DVD was really cool.
On the song, Far, Claudio plays the guitar solo with a power drill. It’s the coolest thing ever, as a guitarist. The guitar sounds like it’s being tortured and it’s screaming. Then when he finishes the final note it sounds like he’s shooting a laser beam out of the guitar. It’s awesome stuff.
The drums in that song were also built using pots, pans, and trash can type stuff. Very cool experimental song from Coheed. I feel this song and the whole album is often overlooked. You can def tell it’s a transitional period for the band and it came out really interesting.
