Not PBB related but felt like I should post it for all my Christian and Muslim brothers and sisters:
For the purpose of this post, I am not talking about a Biblical God, or Abrahamic God, or anything inbetween. I'm talking about everything which is higher than the material - untouchable and unfathomable. The thing can flows through us all which we cant explain. Deeper than 'black and white' and stronger than 'cause and effect' - some people know what I mean, the others can feel free to attack me in the comments which they usually do anyway.
Todays world is designed to drag us away from God and to turn us into materialistic beings that have no belief in something higher. Peace, love and unity are the most important things in life, yet the elite want to turn us into money obsessed, success orientated, soulless individuals focused on one thing and one thing only: what we see with our eyes and not what we feel with our hearts.

Social media. Social media is a dangerous tool. It makes us focus on the ego. We try to portray ourselves as successful individuals with amazing lives when the truth is that we're actually all struggling. The reason we're struggling is because of things like social media that draw all the bad parts out of us rather than the good parts. That's the paradox. For anyone who has a social media account, they can't explain exactly why it ruins their mental wellbeing, but they know it does. That's why many of us decide to leave it. Because social media is a virus plaguing humanity, more so than any COVID or other pandemic. Social media is a tool that drags us away from God and closer to ego.
Technology. Phones, PC's, Macs, laptops, TV's etc. All of these things are designed to drag us away from God and closer to a material realm that serves our souls in no way whatsoever, whilst feeding our egos infinitely. The problem these days especially is that it has been organised so that we need these things. You want a job? You need emails and a CV. You want to talk to your friends about entertainment? You need TV to be able to talk about the things they're talking about. You want to see this meme or understand this theory? You need internet. They've turned technology into a necessity whilst this same necessity is one of the main elements killing our society. Technology is another element dragging us from God and closer to materialism.
NeuraLink, StarLink, and other technological advancements. Soon people will be getting chips implanted into their brains (Neuralink) and connecting them to a worldwide internet service(StarLink). This will turn humans into trans-humans and connect them to a grid they can never escape from. These people will no longer be organic humans but artificially influenced humans that can never connect with the true realm of God and can never transcend. These people will be divided from the organic humans and the same thing will happen with us that has happened with technology - if you are a trans-human - you will have infinite abilities that are necessary to compete in the capitalist world. Organic humans will not be able to compete in this artificial field. Some will have to give in and submit to NeuraLink to 'keep up' - the rest will remain organic but will be left in the past. The difference will be that the organic humans can still connect to God whilst the artificial humans will be connecting to something else. It will cause a huge divide, even bigger than the divide between the 'vaxxers and anti vaxxers' on a scale never seen before.
The Demonisation of Religion and Holy Texts. There are religions and holy texts worldwide that contain deep information that can help a man or woman to understand the depth of reality and become closer to his or her fellow man. Sure, there are things within some texts that are questionable due to the timeframe passed and the eras such texts were written but at the foundation of these texts you will find certain important truths that have never been written and cherished as much as the ones in the holy texts. These texts these days are demonised and attacked as though they need to be discounted and discredited whilst they are some of the only remaining literature that truly explains how important love, peace, unity, forgiveness, humility, egolessness, compassion, care, honesty, is. Instead, we are more interested in talking negatively about our piers and attacking anything we disagree with. This mentality is breaking down our communities and drawing us further away from the truth - that we should all love each other unconditionally and try and understand each other by any means possible.
Music is so powerful that it could change the world. Yet mainstream music these days focuses on two things: sad songs and material raps. There is a reason for this. They want us to cry about our misfortunes with other humans and celebrate money and pride as though it is the most important thing in the world. Where are all the songs about love, peace and unity? They don't exist because the record labels don't let them exist. Look at John Lennon, he tried to get the message out and was killed. That was a statement by the elite. Ever since then, our planet has gone downhill and the music industry has followed. Music is never about love to our fellow man, it is always about the things that keep us blinded and in misery.
Film and TV are powerful inventions that could spread messages of peace and love far and wide, yet look what they're used for... when was the last time you watched a film or TV show and left feeling exhilarated, enlightened, full of love? No, you always end up feeling dismal, depressed and withdrawn. This is what 'they' want. For you to sit down in front of a TV, watch some brainwashing program or desensitizing movie and to leave feeling like a piece of meat rather than a being a love. It's just another invention being used against you for the purpose of materialism rather than for you for the purpose of God.
News. The news could contain stories of hope and love, positive stories of kindness and generosity. All the stories of real honest people trying to make change in the world. But this never happens. It's always fear, dread, hate, depression. It's to keep you scared and contained in your little bubble, in belief that the world is a dark place devoid of anything pure. The News is the most deadly device of them all because it convinces you that the 'News' of the world. Is the 'Dark' of the world. Whilst there is actually real love going on, they just don't mention it because it has the power to inspire you, and to change you and build you up. But they don't want you to be built up, they want you to be broken down.
CCTV and monitoring. One of the things that connects us with God is our ability to be free. But with mass surveillance worldwide, it is becoming less and less possible to do so. Your phone is tracking you, cameras are tracking you, internet is tracking you etc. They are constantly monitoring you and following you at all times, even when you are just living your life like a regular human being. It is a massive invasion of privacy and even if you don't notice it consciously, it is breaking you down on a subconscious level with God. Mass public surveillance is in action and if you want function and be deemed as 'normal' in this world, you must comply, whilst devaluing your connection with God and losing everything about that connection that is most important.
Sub-Cultures. 30 years ago people had differences, but we were still understanding that we were all human, and at the end of the day, we realised we were one. These days everyone has been devided into certain groups and sub-sets, where people who's opinons differ to others seem to make them believe like they are almost part of a different race. This is compeltely untrue. We are all brothers and sisters and need to treat each other as such. All religions and spiritual texts will teach you the same. These new divides created by the elite were created for a reason: to drag us further away from each other and ultimately God, when really we need to be drawn closer together, and effectively, closer to God.
Food and Health. One of the most important ways of connecting with God is by looking after and treating your body and mind accordingly. This requires good food, lots of good water, meditation, prayer, fluoride free toothpaste, exercise, sleep, cold showers etc. All of these things, one way or another, are constantly attacked by people in an effort to convince you that it's not that important, or you're thinking too much, or you're 'conspiracy theorist' etc. But whilst they try to convince you that this stuff isn't important, you might actually tweak these parts of your life, and when you do so, you realise how much better your life becomes and how much easier it is to reconnect with God. Isn't it strange how the things they tell us our nonsense, and how we shouldn't bother doing them - that once we do them, we feel better as a result and closer to 'God' ? That's for a reason. God is real, and when you realise that the whole world has been orchestrated in a way to drag you away from truth, and from God, you can finally start working towards peace & love, and finally finding 'God' once again.

Hey everyone, finally following up to my post from almost 300 days ago. (In case anyone cares)

I just have to say, Norwegian customer service when it comes to refunds is beyond a nightmare.
I’ll start at the start…
We reached out to customer service via the phone/email. They kept just telling us to go to AirCanada customer service, which then then in turn just told us to go back to Norwegian.
After this annoying back and forth for about 2 weeks they finally gave us this refund form to submit. Which of course was denied within 1 day.
We responded to the denial since it came from an actual person and they responded about a week later (with corporate jargon but it pretty much said:) they spoke to their higher ups and still settled on no refund.
We then had to find fine print (ON OUR OWN) that referenced something along the lines of “taxes, excursions, and any prepaid credit will be refunded for a missed cruise”.
We sent them this to which they responded after almost a month (and with us having to follow up) and they agreed with and offered us about $1000 cruise credit… (about $4000 less than we spent).
This was still unacceptable to us so I went and sent emails to every employee I could find to explain our situation…. I went on LinkedIn and found all of the customer service managers and emailed them directly.
We heard nothing…
We then decided to go all in and make a bluff. We sent the rep in the denial chain an email mentioning that we would be pursuing legal action (listed a random lawyer and everything), it was very legit looking.
And guess what!!!
2 days later they offered us a full refund (in cruise credit, as well as an upgrade to our room when we rebook). Which we accepted and rebooked our honeymoon for this summer. A week long Alaskan Cruise in the biggest family suite!
So moral of the story, screw Norwegian Customer service, legal threats are the best bet, and we still love ya Norwegian cruises.

Not sure the best place to post these, but I know I feel like I need to clarify some things about Christianity (at least in my opinion) that people get wrong both within the church and without. I was going to do a series on youtube about it, but I'm not the best on video. I feel like I can get my thoughts down in text much better without misconstruing my words. So I'm just posting here! Lets see what God does with it.
Here's my background, so you know me better before you just blindly trust what I say :).
I'm 32 years old. I grew up in California in a good home with 1 younger brother, going to a non-denominational evangelical church. I went to college and became a mechanical engineer. I put my trust in Jesus when I was 23 right out of college and it radically changed my outlook on life and gave me a lot of joy and peace. I got married 8 years ago, and 3 years ago adopted 2 kids, now ages 10 and 12. It was and is the most emotionally difficult thing I have ever done. My wife and I have been through seriously depressing times, and are still in the thick of it. I'm someone who thinks very deeply about all sorts of theological issues, my personal feelings, etc. I like to have evidence before I make a decision, regardless of traditional views. I honestly overanalyze everything. And it breaks my heart to see when people see Christianity in a different light than what I believe is beautiful and good. So this is an outlet for me to say what has been on my heart with so many different issues.
So here it goes! This first one is near to my heart because I'm a 90's kid:
We hear lots of things about video games from lots of people. Some say all video games are bad because they take people away from interacting with each other. Some say violent video games cause people to do violent things and should be banned. Some people come to the defense of video games saying that they are all good, and that virtual events have no effect on how people act.
I’ll be honest, I haven’t analyzed the statistics. I haven’t conducted studies on what video games can do to a person psychologically. But that’s not what this video is about. This video is about exploring people’s attitudes towards video games, and sharing my personal experience as a former avid gamer, and current casual gamer. And of course we will attempt to see what the Bible says about the subject (which of course won’t be specific to video games, but I think we can still draw conclusions).
I’ll start with my own experience as a gamer. I grew up in the 90’s, so video games were exploding rapidly. I started playing games like oregon trail and math blasters when I was around 6-8 years old. We mostly played pc games, which my parents were smart to limit my brother and I on. Over the years, I played tons of different games, and I have lots of fond memories of playing video games as a kid, all the way up through today. I made lots of good friends playing video games, and I still have a lot of fun with video games today. I still think sitting down to play a video game together is one of the easiest ways to get closer to someone.
I remember staying up all night with one of my friends in middle school playing need for speed, and then passing out on the floor. I remember going camping with my brother, and playing an old entertaining pc game on a laptop for hours on end. We still reference that today. In my youth group in high school, we would play Halo nearly every time we met. It was one of my favorite parts about going. It’s funny, because you wouldn’t expect an activity which seems so isolated from the real world to bring people closer together. But it can.
But it’s not all sugar and spice. In college, I was free from the usual restrictions on how much I could play video games, and I took it to the extreme. A lot of days it was all I wanted to do. I would go into my room when I got back from classes, and play the same game for 5 or 6 hours straight. I mostly used it to fill time, because I was really bad at being bored (and still am). But afterwards I just felt bad for not getting anything done, and wasting away my time. I felt like I was just floating through life without a purpose, which is an awful feeling. So video games became a tool to distract me from my lack of purpose in life.
So what was the difference between the two scenarios? One was healthy, fun, brought my friends and I together, and made good memories. The other was unhealthy, dissatisfying, and distracting. But why the difference? What changed? Was it the type of video game that changed, or was it me?
As you can see by my example, I had changed my attitude towards video games and towards life. The purpose for video games changed from a way to have fun with my friends, to a way to distract myself. I started focusing on video games as the end and the means, rather than just the means. And I think this is the root problem, not just with video games, but with anything. If we start thinking that any one thing, activity, or person is both the ends and the means, it will be extremely unhealthy for us. Because we are made to connect to God first, and connect to other people second. Things are at the bottom of the list. If we get those priorities mixed up, it will be very unhealthy, dissatisfying, and depressing.
Ah but I haven’t touched on the types of video games! Which are good, and which are bad? I had an interesting conversation with a non-Christian friend about this subject. I was playing Conan exiles, in which you wander around the desert, trying to survive, killing animals and people that attack you. I was playing a female character, and for some reason in this game they give you the option to show her topless. I obviously didn’t have this option on, and my friend questioned why I wouldn’t turn it on. It seemed obvious to me, but when we started talking about it, I realized I didn’t have a good reason. Or at least it was very hard to articulate. My friend posed the question, why is it that I can kill people brutally on the video game, but some virtual boobs were totally out of the question?
I also wondered, is there a scenario in which someone could play with the setting on, and it wouldn’t be wrong for them? What’s the difference between virtual violence and virtual sex? Why does any of it matter if it’s virtual anyways?
I think this question is actually pretty clearly answered in the Bible. Jesus really simplifies things when he explains sin.
First of all, Matthew 5:30 says
“30 And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.”
So if something causes you to do something bad, get rid of it. Seems pretty logical. It’s an extreme example obviously, which Jesus is using to make a point. And of course you could take this verse a lot of different non-biblical ways, and say that it says that sinning at all causes you to go to hell even if you are a christian, but that’s false, and it’s not what I want to talk about.
I also want to look at another verse, Matthew 5:27-28:
27 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ 28 But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”
I think this applies to lots of different sins, not just adultery. If you are tempted by something, and fantasize about doing it, it is the same as doing it. It’s not just an internal thought, it’s something that can transform the way we think, and eventually the way we act.
In the case of video games, if it causes you to do something bad, stop playing it. If watching violence on a video game, tv show, movie, etc makes you want to go out and do violent things in real life, stop doing it. Personally I’m not affected by violence in video games. I know that because it doesn’t cause me to fantasize about doing violent things. But I know that’s not true for everyone.
However, this is not the case with sex. I am not able to separate myself from that easily. All it takes is an image of a sexualized woman to send me into sexual thoughts, and tempt me to start fantasizing. And because I am married, it’s not just something that can hurt myself, but also my wife. From experience, those images, thoughts, and obsessions even from years and years ago are not easily erased, and often can cross into the good, beautiful, personal experience with my wife. So I do the logical thing and avoid things that bring it into my mind.
Now theoretically someone could be completely unaffected by this, and it would be fine for them. They could play Conan with the topless setting on, and be unfazed. Although I would question why you would turn it on in the first place, considering it adds no challenge, story, or anything else to the game.
Of course as humans we all want concrete, easy to follow rules. Yes to this movie or game, no to this movie or game. This is evil, this is good. This is black, this is white. And if I could, I would distill video games down to just the challenge and the fun, and get rid of all the violence, sex, and other crap. But unfortunately there aren’t many games like that. We have to accept that there is bad and good in everything. Video games, movies, tv. Some of them have more good than bad, and some are the other way around. What determines whether or not it is good for us is not how much good or bad is in it, or what type of good or bad things, but rather its effect on us. Whether we can filter out the bad and leave the good, or not. Whether it pulls at our vices and tempts us, or not.
And the only way we can even discern, and implement these changes for our good is through the Holy Spirit. He is the one who tugs at our soul and makes us feel what is right or wrong. Without him, we are fighting a losing battle, lost to satisfying whatever wants pop into our head. No amount of logic, rules, regiment, and self denial can ever deal with this problem. And so my final answer for this hilariously long conversation about video games is the “sunday school” answer. We should listen to the Holy Spirit, read the Bible, pray, and analyze ourselves if we feel torn over any issue, including video games.

I'll believe Orlando being relevant when I see it. Until then, I don't think anyone wants to hear about that or the franchise in general.

OKC redditors have flown up my rankings this year. From the obnoxious 20 awards on every SGA "30-7-5" post, to acting like they've completed the best rebuild in nba history for making the playoffs after 4 years of tanking, this small franchise can truly compete with the big boys when it comes to being an annoying reddit fanbase.

Toronto

This well known nuisance fanbase may have been subdued by a bad season and fan favorite Scott Barnes playing like a role player, but they still mange to sit at #2. With the consistent flood of niche raptors content on Rnba, to the wolf pack mentality of downvoting critical comments on those posts, it's best to stay away from this exceptionally annoying reddit fanbase.

Since the start of internet sports forums you can bet Lakers fans were the most annoying people on them. Nothing has changed this year. This army of religous Stephen A. listeners successfully turned Rnba into their own personal circle jerk for a whole week after a missed call on lebron. Reddit is truly at this fanbases whim. Also, with the incredible discourse on this team you would think they are very relevant, but no, they actually haven't made it out of the first round in years.

Hey folks, my current PC is a build from 2013 and it's time for an upgrade. All of the activities I mention below are at a hobbyist level so I don't need bleeding-edge performance. But hopefully I can get some great performance for the budget.
If helpful as a reference, a while back I did ask for a build here, but since then I decided that I want to use 1440p resolution instead of 4K. Not sure if the previous suggestions still apply.
If I'm asking for too much for this price point, please let me know a more realistic budget. Thanks in advance!

What will you be doing with this PC? Be as specific as possible, and include specific games or programs you will be using.

Video games (the most demanding title I'm currently playing would be Cyberpunk 2077, otherwise other game titles I tend to enjoy/want to play are Stellaris, Fallout, Elder Scrolls, Path of Exile, Mass Effect, God of War, GTA, Final Fantasy 16, Starfield...basically strategy/sims, RPGs, action games)
VR (I have an Oculus Quest 2 and would like to be able to link with my PC for virtual desktop as well as games, such as Skyrim VR and Echo - may get a better VR headset at some point too)
Video and photo editing (DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Creative Cloud apps)

I plan to use a 1440p monitor with at least a 144 Hz refresh rate
For storage, I'd like a 1 TB SSD as my primary drive, and a 1+ TB HDD as my secondary drive.
For CPU, Intel is preferred (unless AMD is doing well these days for all my needs...).
For GPU, Nvidia is preferred, and as close to current-gen as possible.
For RAM, I'd like 32 GB.

What type of network connectivity do you need? (Wired and/or WiFi) If WiFi is needed and you would like to find the fastest match for your wireless router, please list any specifics.

I prefer a cabled connection for internet, but I wouldn't say "no" if WiFi happened to be included.

Mid-sized tower.
Preferably as silent as possible and with good cable management and airflow.
Black is fine for the color.
The tower will be hidden so I don't need a window or lighting (but if it's unavoidable, not a problem either).
If the front of the case could have some USB ports, that would be helpful.

SEASON 3:

In the comics, The Joker was also resurrected by his followers.

His grim face is based on The Joker from Death of the Family, and his voice is more like Ledger's.

(By the way, in season 3, he could still whistle, funny to say the least)

Jerome leaving the city in the dark, is reminiscent of the plot of Dark Knight Returns, but instead of being provoked by Superman, he is provoked by Jerome, although, the Joker of that story was technically indirectly responsible.

Jerome wanting to kill Bruce is similar to the Joker from Dark Knight Returns with his desire to kill Batman, and like Jerome, he too is happy to get him killed.

Jerome playing to kill Bruce, and introducing himself is another reference to I almost got'em, his movements, although not the same, are quite similar, also another reference to Dark Knight Returns, more precisely, his entrance, raising the arm.

Jerome says he has taken Gotham, just like in Arkham Origins, The Joker says something similar, about having taken the city and dismounted the police, the time for gifts hadn't even arrived.

Jerome says: Bruce, darling. As in Dark Knight Returns the Joker says: Batman, darling.

Jerome and Bruce in the circus is reminiscent of Dark Knight Returns, but the other way around, where in this case, it is Jerome who chases Bruce, and not Batman the Joker, throughout the circus, they do not reach the tunnel of love, but they do the hall of mirrors Where a scene similar to Arkham Origins happens, where The Joker is beaten by Batman, expecting to die.

The Cult of him with painted face of him is similar to some of the Joker's minions from Arkham Asalyum, and his minions from The New Batman Adventures.

The slight moment of fear that Jerome shows when Bruce does not see him, is similar to the Joker TAS in the episode: Wild Cards, where he claims to be crazy and therefore would not be affected by Ace's powers, and this ends up being a lie, Similarly, Jerome acts like dying isn't a big deal, but if you pay attention, you'll notice that he was nervous, agitated, and somewhat worried in the face of death.

Jerome pulling a knife out of his sleeve, reminds me of when the Joker from Dark Knight Returns did the same thing, but based on the way he pulled it out, it looks like how The Joker wanted to throw a sharp playing card at Batman in the episode The Last Laugh from Batman TAS.

Jerome's suit is similar to Ledger's Joker on the inside, which had a red color, as opposed to his purple color, while Jerome had a red suit, which had blue on the inside.

Jerome combing his hair is similar to TAS Joker combing his hair while he looks in the mirror, in the episode where Harley leaves with Ivy.

His hat is reminiscent of the one Joker wore in Killing Joke.

His top hat is reminiscent of the one The Joker wore in a Batman Arkham Asalyum DLC.

SEASON 4 (JEROME, FINAL):

Jerome becoming friends with Penguin is similar to the initial relationship the two had in the comics, just as it is similar to the partner relationship they have in the 1960s series.

His behavior during episode 13 is reminiscent of the Joker's attitude during the War of Jokes and Riddles story arc, where the Joker despite maintaining his funny side, and having one or another reason to smile, was not able to to find the fire to laugh properly.

From episode 16 onwards, his personality is like that of Ledger and Nicholson, depicted in a face more prone to volatile seriousness, as if every time he gets serious, which he spends more often than before, is to explode. Because of his position, seeing a serious Jerome means that he is worried about the result of his plan, I have only seen this sample of focus in 2 Jokers: The one from Endgame.

So I enjoy journaling for a few different reasons, and as I continue to do it, and get better at it, the more natural it feels, allowing you to really make use of it and get something out of it. Before this recent journaling expedition I had NEVER journaled. Maybe stupid little doodles and quotes from songs or something in notebooks, but not really journaling, or for any real purpose. I was somewhat curious and interested in the idea, as it had always been suggested to me by programs, institutions, therapists, etc.. however, I couldn't get past my biggest hurdle which was how to begin journaling without feeling really, really, silly, or like some teeny girl in highschool writing about people she doesn't like or her crushes or whatever. It just felt awkward and silly. I debated on doing it for a while and I think one day I said to myself to just do it, see how it goes, and do it day after day or just twice a day, even if all I write is a sentence, or a gratitude, or a to do list, the idea was just to start doing it and developing the healthy habit. So my first entries were very crude. I'm looking at one now and it basically says :
THC NJ is COOL APPLY TO JOBS START NEW RPG GONNA COOK STEAK START READING DO ANDROIDS DREAM OF ELECTRIC SHEEP? (finished it that week) THIS IS MY 1ST TIME JOURNALING MAY ADD MORE LATER, lol TALKED TO LILY BILLY, need to more often
Then l stated a short gratitude for the day. This first journal entry I was grateful for reddit, cause I believe I made a post prior to writing that entry asking for tips on how to journal. I posted on a few mental health groups, a few addiction or drug based subs, and a few writing subs and got all sorts of helpful tips, but my first few entries remained pretty crude for a week or so. My first entry was on 2-12-23. So I've been doing it almost daily, some days multiple times in one day, and some weeks I'll go 3 or 4 days without journaling like just recently, but I don't like doing that cause now I notice a sort of disconnect from myself when I don't journal habitually. It's constant confirmation of all your thoughts and beliefs, and you see how your idea develop and progress. Thinking something and thinking something then writing it down on paper, physically putting the idea into the universe helps establish it.
I skip a week or so into my journaling and now I'm talking to it more like how traditionally people think journaling goes. Like raw free thought sort of, that's definitely a very important part of journaling though you can and will develop your own entire journaling style based on your needs, or what you want out of it. I thought I would hate the free thought aimless formula but it's what I use the most now, because the habit of writing allowed me to get comfortable with it and explore it's benefits. I just moderate it by USUALLY including short term, or long term goals, gratitudes,or something. But not always, if you don't feel it you shouldnt force yourself. You don't wanna say a bullshit gratitude just to write something for gratitude. If you don't feel it don't write it. So yeah fast forward in my journal and I'm talking about the day we went to the park after group and we smoked a bit and played football and frisbee and saying how nice it is, before that some goals and gratitudes. Short term goals. I begin to write about accomplishments I've made and things I see different in myself. I talk about some of my inner growth but I'll mention a specific think like in how the past year and a half I've been fucked up like 20 of those days. Or how I feel my brain is finally begin to repair itself cause I can feel some sort of natural euphoria at times. Dopamine release is finally becoming more regulated. I'll write how I finished a book in a week and that's also an accomplishment. A big accomplishment I had to write down was hygiene. When I was in heavy active addiction, or even sober just severely crippled with depression I'd go a month without brushing my teeth, weeks without showering. So I wrote down that accomplishment. It effects self esteem, ego and confidence. When you go back and read goals you had and accomplishments you've made, on a daily basis you get to physically see growth or change in yourself instead of just feeling you're doing better. You have written proof, you're logging your mental state everyday and you go back after a month when you forget what you wrote and you're like oh shit wow, I can't believe I actually accomplished that, or shit I can't believe I even WANTED. To accomplish that. Being able to go back and read what you wrote after you forgotten it is a visceral feeling. Theres no real WAY to journal and I'm still figuring out my best way but it changes, some days it's free thought, one day it's lists and goals and gratitudes, sometimes a healthy mix, sometimes it's something funny that happened that day (good to go back and read on funny moments you'd otherwise completely forget about, it can immortalize them so to speak) sometimes it's topics I wanna go down rabbit holes on YouTube and I'll mention it in the journal so that if I forget I'll come back to that page on my own at some point and remember. I could imagine how amazing it would be to have years worth of your own personal journals now. Must be pretty fucking cool. Get to see huge change in yourself and never forget where you started. Reddit gave me an overwhelming amount of GOOD information and I took what I thought would work for me, still plan to read more on journaling tips soon as I wanna evolve it further and do more for with it, but I've been doing it for a like a little over a month so ill keep learning and adding journaling objectives as I continue doing it. All in all journaling serves to strengthen your relationship with yourself. I know my explanation wasn't the best, so I recommend also searching reddit or Google on your own for more journaling tips that work for your needs.

Episode Forty-Seven: The Penthouse

Amid the destruction of the riot, Sinclair’s tower is a beacon of tranquillity, set aside from the base concerns of the working class. Towering above Central Square, I imagine its residents sipping a glass of sherry at the window and surveying their domain.
We march through the lobby doors as one, a reckless sea of protestors flooding the empty entryway.
A spotless marble floor the size of a small park gleams underfoot, decorated with tiny black diamond tiles inset into the stone at regular intervals. Along one wall, a long mahogany desk stretches in front of a seamless mirror, now abandoned, but I assume usually staffed by a concierge and assistants. Opposite the concierge’s desk, a bank of elevators stands silently on the other wall. The entire building has an air of silence about it.
“This isn’t right,” I mutter. “Where are the guards? Harding wouldn’t hole up without someone protecting him.”
“We’ve got half of them with us,” Frank says with a smirk. “But you’re right. There’ll be more further up, I reckon.”
“Clear the floors!” Ike yells above the murmuring crowd. “Don’t risk the elevators. Sound off!”
The wardens grunt their acceptance, rushing up the stairs with pulse rifles ready to fire. Our volunteer army stands waiting for an order of their own.
Moments later, the wardens send the all clear, and we follow them one floor at a time up the stairwell, so plain that it must be used by workers servicing the tower, rather than the rich VIPs who live here.
With each floor we climb, I focus on Dani—whether they’re alive, safe, or has Harding killed them, like he did Caleb?
Frank lays a hand on my shoulder. “Almost there, Kyla. We’ll get them safe.”
I nod, wrapping my arms tightly around myself as we follow the crowd up to another floor. Soon, the volunteers join the wardens, emboldened by the progress we’re already made. With such a large group swarming into the tower, the few loyal guards who remain are quickly overpowered.
We press on, finding offices, service rooms, staff apartments (some with workers cowering in dark corners, who are quickly comforted and evacuated), and a host of additional areas. But the only apartments are those belonging to Sinclair’s staff. He lives alone, here in this high-rise. According to the concierge, an aging worker in a black uniform with slicked dark hair and grey eyes, he houses his family and staff here, and no one else.
“A whole high rise building for one man and his family…” I grumble, revolted by Sinclair’s self-indulgence—the sheer arrogance of a man hoarding all this luxury, while people live in squalor less than a mile away.
“Sure looks like the emotion trade is booming,” Frank says through gritted teeth.
It takes an hour or more before we clear a path to the penthouse, leaving a trail of stunned wardens and cowering workers in our wake. Volunteers pare off to evacuate and restrain them, ensuring that we can push on with no unfortunate surprises.
The stairwell ends below the penthouse, leaving us in an open atrium with slate covered floors and walls. It’s completely empty, except for the large canvasses hanging on the walls, lit by their own mini spotlights. I don’t recognise any of the paintings or artists, although I’m sure it’s an impressive sight to someone. I couldn’t care less about them right now.
“How do we get up there?” I scan the atrium for another stairwell.
Frank points behind me. “Only one way up.”
A single elevator, wider than those in the lobby, stands in a slate wall, grey upon grey, practically invisible.
“Is it safe?”
Frank snorts. “Nothing we’ve done today has been safe. Why change that now?”
My heart hammers in my chest as we move to the elevator, eyes darting around the atrium, expecting more of Sinclair’s guards to pop out from a shadow at any moment.
Instead, the light above the elevator doors turns on, and a loud ding echoes around the stone-clad chamber.
The elevator doors slide open, and Harding stands calmly inside, with his arms folded and a smug smile on his face. Seeing him makes my stomach turn. The last time I saw him in the flesh, he was drowning under a sea of reform inmates clawing at his face. I almost grin at the thought.
Caleb materialises next to me, his body solidifying from the black smoke of my nightmares. “That sneaky fucker,” he spits. Nobody else pays him any mind.
Because nobody else can see him, I remind myself. He’s not here. He’s dead. He’s said these things before. Days ago, weeks…
I close my eyes and take a deep breath. When I open them again and find Caleb gone, I’m relieved… and then, guilty.
“Been waitin’ for you,” Harding says. “Sinclair wants to see you.”
He can’t be serious. I glance at Frank, who nods. “Sounds delightful,” he says darkly, fists tensed at his sides.
Harding grins. “Doesn’t it? Come on up.”
In a dreamlike daze, we walk into the elevator and stand calmly next to the man who killed my brother. Frank stands in the middle, as if shielding me from Harding’s presence. But I can still feel his steely gaze on me, making my skin crawl.
When I look, I see Ike stopping the other wardens while the doors are closing, his eyes full of fear. He gives us one last nod before the doors slide shut.
The elevator lurches into motion.
Harding gives a low whistle and inspects his nails casually. “You guys been causing some big trouble out there today.”
“Less than you deserve,” Frank grunts, staring resolutely at the elevator doors.
I keep my gaze on the floor, breathing slow and deep. I want to scream at Harding, claw at his face, demand to know where Dani is, what he’s done to them, show him he’s not as powerful as he thinks. But Frank gets there first.
“Where are they?”
Harding huffs a low breath, a half-laugh. “You’ll see them soon enough.”
The elevator pings and the doors slide open, revealing a massive apartment. Every surface is monochrome—white walls and black metal, clinical and soulless, almost barren. Compared to my mother’s home, full of the clutter of family life and memories, this place feels like a museum.
Just outside the elevator, the room opens out into a vast living space, surrounded by floor to ceiling windows and empty, except for a low circular sofa set into the floor, with a firepit in the middle.
Sat at one end of the sofa is a portly man, maybe in his late sixties, who must be Sinclair. He wears a grey suit with a waistcoat made of silvery silk, which glows in the firelight from the black metal pit. He grins and stands when we enter, holding his arms out wide. “Welcome, welcome, please have a seat.”
He motions to the sofa, where Lena sits slumped with her head resting back against the cushion. Dani lays across her lap, eyes closed and lips slightly parted.
I rush over, heart in my throat, and crouch over Dani, immediately fearing the worst. “What have you done to them?”
“Oh, do calm down, my girl,” Sinclair scoffs. “They’ve merely had a minor dose of Oblivion.”
“Minor?” I spin around, mildly satisfied at the look of shock on Sinclair’s reddened face. I jab a finger in the air towards Harding. “That asshole killed my brother with Oblivion, and you’re acting like they’ve just been given a little nap?”
Sinclair looks genuinely shocked at this. “Killed? I... I don’t understand—”
Harding steps forward. “Sir, if I could intervene. This charming young lady is Kyla Chase. She has been a thorn in Emotiv’s side ever since Frank hired her.”
“What is she talking about, Dennis?” Sinclair frowns at Harding. “Oblivion can’t kill people.”
“It can when you force multiple doses down someone’s throat,” I cut in quickly before Harding can say a word. “When you pin them down and smash one vial after another into their mouth, even though they’re already gone—”
A searing pain slices across my chest and I gasp for breath, almost ready to collapse from the weight of my own words. Gone.
Sinclair continues to frown, his mouth hanging open slightly in disbelief. It would be a stretch to say he cares, but he seems surprised. So Harding has kept this a secret from him, too. Or some of it, at least. I’m not sure whether that thought comforts me or sickens me even more. He didn’t know. None of us knew. None of us wanted to know. Why should he be any different?
Behind me, a small gasp draws my attention. I turn again and see Gemma staring wide-eyed at me with her back to the window. She shakes her head, almost imperceptibly, and it’s like I can read her mind. Not now. Not yet.

There's a lot of editing and reworking to do before this story will be fit to publish as a complete novel, but over the next few days I'll be posting the last three episodes of Emotiv, and giving it a rest for a while before I rework it for publication!

Nysa! I love her. Returning to reveal she has indeed survived the island during the same episode that Roy has returned. (fat and out of shape) She is so funny it’s unreal.
Felicity: “it will take a long time so it would be good to not be distracted.” (Implies she wants Nysa to leave)
Nysa: “Very well, I shall stay here to ensure no one distracts you; sister wife.”
I just hate all the secondary team drama. Wild Dogg was kidnapped by church and as one would expect unlike Diggle or Oliver, he did break only took a couple days to tell him EVERYTHING. Then Evelyn aka Artemis betrays Oliver and the rest of the team to Chase a mad man mass murderer with no positive plan or good works of any kind just attacking oliver no more defending the city doing good deeds for her but hey if Oliver goes down it’s worth it somehow completely betraying her own character simultaneously. Then Wild Dogg again betrays Oliver to the FBI no concern for ruining his life and not even smart enough to realize it would still basically guarantee his daughter would be taken and that he would be going down right alongside oliver. Totally cool for Dyna formerly a favorite of mine to insist on Torture of black Siren yet Curtis and the B team were completely out of their minds disgusted when Oliver wanted to do anything questionable. Totally cool for Curtis to short out Diggle’s arm chip. Totally cool for Wild Dogg to swing an axe at oliver but then somehow a single kick nearly kills him after a standard fight sequence so now oliver is extra extra super evil. Everyone ignored that he shot Felicity accidentally in the forearm as well. Yep very gross season utter nonsense amongst the B team somehow thinking 4 hours of tracking their phones was a major privacy invasion that justified all their anger when 2/4 of the new members had betrayed Oliver and a 3rd was meeting her ex boyfriend whom was a current enemy. Seriously they can’t trust oliver? Rene went to the FBI??!??? That’s as bad as it could possibly get. Oliver forgave it somehow and he still continued to act out against oliver which lead to the team split. Also hilarious that they could possibly believe the guy that trained them would be someone they could beat or that they even had a right to defend the city as they see fit. It’s Oliver’s city he owns all rights on vigilante activity and otherwise. He has defeated all comers the biggest of the big and everywhere in between. Dyna is the only truly competent fighter or reasonable tempered individual. Even Curtis has really taken a wrong turn it’s unfortunate. Wild dogg is doing what you always expected with his attitude but he had made such incredible progress was finally likable working in the mayors office and then just 180s into hell.
Anyway f wild dogg and his homies whether they (likely) reconcile or not. Comic relief from entities like Nysa or Thea suiting up again are gems that are keeping the season alive.
Thoughts? Does anyone feel wild dogg or the others are even remotely justified in their anger toward Oliver’s 2-4 hour mobile phone tracking which he immediately brought up when they returned to the bunker?

Social media. Social media is a dangerous tool. It makes us focus on the ego. We try to portray ourselves as successful individuals with amazing lives when the truth is that we're actually all struggling. The reason we're struggling is because of things like social media that draw all the bad parts out of us rather than the good parts. That's the paradox. For anyone who has a social media account, they can't explain exactly why it ruins their mental wellbeing, but they know it does. That's why many of us decide to leave it. Because social media is a virus plaguing humanity, more so than any COVID or other pandemic. Social media is a tool that drags us away from God and closer to ego.
Technology. Phones, PC's, Macs, laptops, TV's etc. All of these things are designed to drag us away from God and closer to a material realm that serves our souls in no way whatsoever, whilst feeding our egos infinitely. The problem these days especially is that it has been organised so that we need these things. You want a job? You need emails and a CV. You want to talk to your friends about entertainment? You need TV to be able to talk about the things they're talking about. You want to see this meme or understand this theory? You need internet. They've turned technology into a necessity whilst this same necessity is one of the main elements killing our society. Technology is another element dragging us from God and closer to materialism.
NeuraLink, StarLink, and other technological advancements. Soon people will be getting chips implanted into their brains (Neuralink) and connecting them to a worldwide internet service(StarLink). This will turn humans into trans-humans and connect them to a grid they can never escape from. These people will no longer be organic humans but artificially influenced humans that can never connect with the true realm of God and can never transcend. These people will be divided from the organic humans and the same thing will happen with us that has happened with technology - if you are a trans-human - you will have infinite abilities that are necessary to compete in the capitalist world. Organic humans will not be able to compete in this artificial field. Some will have to give in and submit to NeuraLink to 'keep up' - the rest will remain organic but will be left in the past. The difference will be that the organic humans can still connect to God whilst the artificial humans will be connecting to something else. It will cause a huge divide, even bigger than the divide between the 'vaxxers and anti vaxxers' on a scale never seen before.
The Demonisation of Religion and Holy Texts. There are religions and holy texts worldwide that contain deep information that can help a man or woman to understand the depth of reality and become closer to his or her fellow man. Sure, there are things within some texts that are questionable due to the timeframe passed and the eras such texts were written but at the foundation of these texts you will find certain important truths that have never been written and cherished as much as the ones in the holy texts. These texts these days are demonised and attacked as though they need to be discounted and discredited whilst they are some of the only remaining literature that truly explains how important love, peace, unity, forgiveness, humility, egolessness, compassion, care, honesty, is. Instead, we are more interested in talking negatively about our piers and attacking anything we disagree with. This mentality is breaking down our communities and drawing us further away from the truth - that we should all love each other unconditionally and try and understand each other by any means possible.
Music is so powerful that it could change the world. Yet mainstream music these days focuses on two things: sad songs and material raps. There is a reason for this. They want us to cry about our misfortunes with other humans and celebrate money and pride as though it is the most important thing in the world. Where are all the songs about love, peace and unity? They don't exist because the record labels don't let them exist. Look at John Lennon, he tried to get the message out and was killed. That was a statement by the elite. Ever since then, our planet has gone downhill and the music industry has followed. Music is never about love to our fellow man, it is always about the things that keep us blinded and in misery.
Film and TV are powerful inventions that could spread messages of peace and love far and wide, yet look what they're used for... when was the last time you watched a film or TV show and left feeling exhilarated, enlightened, full of love? No, you always end up feeling dismal, depressed and withdrawn. This is what 'they' want. For you to sit down in front of a TV, watch some brainwashing program or desensitizing movie and to leave feeling like a piece of meat rather than a being a love. It's just another invention being used against you for the purpose of materialism rather than for you for the purpose of God.
News. The news could contain stories of hope and love, positive stories of kindness and generosity. All the stories of real honest people trying to make change in the world. But this never happens. It's always fear, dread, hate, depression. It's to keep you scared and contained in your little bubble, in belief that the world is a dark place devoid of anything pure. The News is the most deadly device of them all because it convinces you that the 'News' of the world. Is the 'Dark' of the world. Whilst there is actually real love going on, they just don't mention it because it has the power to inspire you, and to change you and build you up. But they don't want you to be built up, they want you to be broken down.
CCTV and monitoring. One of the things that connects us with God is our ability to be free. But with mass surveillance worldwide, it is becoming less and less possible to do so. Your phone is tracking you, cameras are tracking you, internet is tracking you etc. They are constantly monitoring you and following you at all times, even when you are just living your life like a regular human being. It is a massive invasion of privacy and even if you don't notice it consciously, it is breaking you don't on a subconscious level with God. Mass public surveillance is in action and if you want function and be deemed as 'normal' in this world, you must comply, whilst devaluing your connection with God and losing everything about that connection that is most important.
Sub-Cultures. 30 years ago people had differences, but we were still understanding that we were all human, and at the end of the day, we realised we were one. These days everyone has been devided into certain groups and sub-sets, where people who's opinons differ to others seem to make them believe like they are almost part of a different race. This is compeltely untrue. We are all brothers and sisters and need to treat each other as such. All religions and spiritual texts will teach you the same. These new divides created by the elite were created for a reason: to drag us further away from each other and ultimately God, when really we need to be drawn closer together, and effectively, closer to God.
Food and Health. One of the most important ways of connecting with God is by looking after and treating your body and mind accordingly. This requires good food, lots of good water, meditation, prayer, fluoride free toothpaste, exercise, sleep, cold showers etc. All of these things, one way or another, are constantly attacked by people in an effort to convince you that it's not that important, or you're thinking too much, or you're 'conspiracy theorist' etc. But whilst they try to convince you that this stuff isn't important, you might actually tweak these parts of your life, and when you do so, you realise how much better your life becomes and how much easier it is to reconnect with God. Isn't it strange how the things they tell us our nonsense, and how we shouldn't bother doing them - that once we do them, we feel better as a result and closer to 'God' ? That's for a reason. God is real, and when you realise that the whole world has been orchestrated in a way to drag you away from truth, and from God, you can finally start working towards peace & love, and finally finding 'God' once again.

In this post I’ll be going over the development history of Macbeth and Solar, as well as exploring a theory that they’re actually connected:

Missile Base

In grayed-out code in fox_map.c, Macbeth is described as a “missile base,” which matches what the JP guide book says. This is similar to its purpose in Star Fox 1 and 2. In SF1, Andross stockpiled his weapons and ammunition there, while in SF2 he launched missiles from it. It explains the Copperhead missile the train carries, the giant supply depot, and what looks like two missiles sitting out in front, which Boundary Break made easier to see:

A near final map of the Lylat System given to game magazines reveals a really odd structure floating in Macbeth’s orbit:

WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!?
I feel like a ufologist staring at suspicious pixels in blurry footage. It looks like a giant horseshoe or magnet. It’s not a booger or anything, because it’s visible in Nintendo Power’s and Dengeki 64’s issues as well (just in even worse quality, and from different angles). Can anyone else tell what this is?
It’s not the scrapped 6th normal route stage, ‘cause it’s too close to Macbeth. If it’s part of Macbeth’s stage, it’s still really odd. Why go to the trouble of creating and programming this on the map screen? Does it represent an orbital missile platform or something? Did the level take place above Macbeth on some sort of space station, before they decided to make it another tank level?

Fiery Past

Along with Titania and Fortuna, Macbeth was one of the stages that got a big makeover. In Star Fox 1, the molten core shrank, leaving an open space beneath the crust that you fly through. Andross stockpiled weapons, ships, and ammunition here, which was just asking for trouble:

Because Macbeth was so geologically active, Andross likely triggered something bad to happen, because by Star Fox 2, the upper crust was gone, and the floor became lava:

Here’s a theory Patch suggested, but what if Solar used to be Macbeth? It looks a lot more like the SF1 and 2 incarnations when you compare:

In the earliest version of the Lylat System, one of the planets orbiting the sun(?) looks like a molten Macbeth:

There are unused sprites for many of the planets in the Gigaleak, which code in fox_map.c used to arrange into an early version of the map, but some of the planets seem to be mismatched. During development, they just called Solar “Sun” in Japanese:

Zoness and Fortuna look switched, while Macbeth seems to have a placeholder sprite. It’s possible Fortuna really was a jungle planet at one point, while Zoness was a pristine ocean world, but if they weren’t… what if Sun and Macbeth were switched as well? What if the molten sprite was a fiery version of Macbeth, while the white circle was the center of the sun?

A Missing Sun Stage?

For that to work, the Sun stage they were planning (or actually developing) would have to be different from Solar. Well, there is actually some evidence of this. According to fox_map.c, the sun stage had three whole exits! Yup, an easy, medium and hard route. Modern Solar is such a simple stage, it’s hard to imagine it having so many. We also know that Solar’s boss Vulcain used to be the boss of Sector X instead, so what were they planning instead?
If “Sun” was originally its own thing, perhaps it would’ve taken inspiration from Astropolis, and it really was supposed to be Lylat’s star. But again, this is just speculation.

Insight from the Script

The English script has some unused lines and interesting info. First off, the train conductor is named “Kaybarn!” At least, in internal NoA notes. Notably they left HVC-09’s name unchanged in the script, so maybe this was actually the conductor's original name:

In the final game, Falco helps you shoot the switches, but apparently Slippy was going to help as well! They likely removed that part because they wanted it to be special when Katt helps you out instead:

Slippy also has some unused lines on Solar:

Notably, there’s a gap between Slippy’s last line 10080 and the next line at 10200, which is Bill’s. Either they just left room for alternate route lines, or they cut 11+ lines from the final script. Maybe they cut a part where you were supposed to balance the Arwing’s temperature?

Now that I’ve gone through all the planets, in the next post I’ll finally connect the dots into the full beta Lylat Map.
