My mother is in hospice care in her home with my dad but I'm there Monday-Friday from the time I take my kids to school until my dad gets home from work. Usually 8 a.m. till 6-7 p.m. She was in the hospital in December with a massive brain bleed and she had been on a transplant list waiting on a new liver. Well with the bleed in her brain they said obviously she wasn't getting a new liver (that and her refusal to stop drinking but that's a whole other thing) and that there really wasn't anything they could do, they couldn't operate to stop the bleed for fear of her bleeding out due to her liver failure. I really don't quite understand all of that, it happened so quick and they made it sound like death was near. So my dad, me and my 2 siblings talked and decided that we would do comfort care and they called hospice. At the time she was completely unresponsive. We brought her home a week before Christmas. Within a couple days she was awake and alert and starting to eat and drink and speak, she was bed ridden but could somewhat use her hands to hold things and move her legs but so weak. We were again confused because she was starting to act better. Slowly she's stopped really speaking, I get the occasional crazy talk from her and she'll sometimes say hi or bye but that's getting to be days apart and she has no strength left in her arms to hold anything and she spends most of her days sleeping or watching TV. She stares right through me a lot, and just isn't there. She is still eating and drinking some mainly because dad keeps pushing her. Here we are 3+ months later and she's just here, she's not exactly acting like she's on the brink of death and it almost seems like she could improve, but she doesn't, she just exists. I'm so wore out and exhausted. Neither of my siblings help, my brother has been by literally 6 times, my sister maybe 8. I'm so angry that they can just keep living their lives and I can't. I just want my life to go back to normal, I barely see my kids, my relationship is starting to be strained due to this, my partner had been so supportive and amazing through this but my nerves are shot and I know I've lashed out at her and I feel terrible about it. Everyone keeps telling me oh you're doing great, you're a saint taking care of your mother like that, I could never do that, blah blah blah. I don't really know the point of this long post I'm just tired and stressed and angry, I am ready for my life to go back to normal but I don't want to lose my mom. I miss my kids, I miss my free time, I miss being at home, I miss being able to do what I want when I want, I know I'll miss my mom when she's gone and I feel so guilty for these feelings but they are there.

Meanwhile my doctors say losing weight would help my depression.
I've had treatment-resistant depression for 5 years now. It's gotten to the point where ECT is becoming my only option left and I've been coming to terms with the fact that I might have to learn to live with depression for the rest of my life.
So, I sought a weight loss clinic. I know how to eat properly and exercise, but when I'm in a depressive episode I struggle. I was hoping the clinic would help keep me accountable and give me suggestions to stay the course for when I am in a depressive episode.
I'm just frustrated. Luckily my therapist has been a much better support, but I would never lose weight if I had to wait for my depression to be cured to start eating better.

I'm playing these games for the first time (though knowing spoilers beforehand) and it just hit me. Everything that happened to Phoenix after he became an attorney, all his highs and lows, disbarment, Dahlia, even his daughter - all of it happened because of Miles. Because Phoenix became an attorney to save Miles. It's crazy. I mean when I first found out through spoilers that Phoenix became an attorney because of Miles, I didn't even believe it. I thought Miles just "inspired" him to become an attorney. But it's not 100% accurate. The point is, Phoenix was studying art and it changes everything. It means Miles did not just "inspire" Phoenix to become an attorney during that school trial. Because if he had, Phoenix would've decided to become an attorney after that trial and would have chosen law major instead of art major. But he literally chose art major and he only began studying law when he saw that article and decided that he needed to meet Miles again and save him. And yes, Phoenix loved being an attorney and helping people. But it's crazy that he initially became an attorney just to meet Miles and if not for Miles, he probably would be an actoartist now, he wouldn't even have his daughter. I mean he even meet Dahlia in the court library as he was studying law. This is astonishing.

I'm not sure if this will be helpful, but I thought that I would give you my perspective on the live commentary thing, as a casual fan. Like I said, I am not a hard-core fan and so, as much as I appreciate what East vs. West is doing for the hard-core fans, the 5-7 hour commitment is usually something that dissuades me from purchasing the event. Instead, I might drop in and out of a live commentary while I'm doing other things just to see where things are at, and if I recognize a name, then I might listen to see who wins. I also enjoy seeing how excited the live commentators generally are when they are watching.
Afterwards, I will usually watch most, if not all of the matches on YouTube, once they are published by Engin (fast-forwarding through arguments and complaining, of course). In other words, I am not really more or less likely to purchase the event based on the presence or absence of live commentary.
My impression is that East v West is kind of like a convention or all-star weekend. Much of the appeal seems to be in collecting all of the best arm-wrestlers in one place, even if they don't all arm wrestle each other like in a tournament. As such, it seems fair to charge money for such an event, and would obviously have the greatest appeal to the biggest fans. Fans like me, who are just learning who these people are, are probably, more likely to continue to watch the replays (and like I said, tune in and out of the live commentaries for updates) until we become familiar enough with everyone on the card to purchase the event. For example, on the replays, I have become impressed with Ongarbaev, Morozov, and others. However, until I learn enough to appreciate at least half of the card, I will probably continue to wait until the replays come out.
Finally, I will say that the MMT free events have been a pretty good entry point for a casual fan like me. They were relatively fast, had some names, and non-names but good matches, and were, of course, free. Now I'm not saying that East vs West should change what they are doing because I personally think they are serving a different audience (i.e. the hard-core fans and those who are a little more knowledgable than I am at this point). Also, with the replays, they are also showing me how many great matches can be made, even if I haven't heard of the combatants. Hopefully, the money thing can all be sorted out but someone else might consider trying to put on some smaller free events to continue the growth of the sport. East vs. West and King of the Table have obviously been a blessing, but I think that to grow the sport for more casual fans like me, everything can't be left to Engin to do everything, everywhere, all at once:)
Anyway, those are some of my thoughts in case anyone was interested.

Saw some posts in geologycareers but thought I'd put this here for future reference for anyone studying or planning for the PG exam in the figure.
I'm an engineering/environmental consultant with 5+ years experience. Took the FG in fall 2022 and only studied a couple weeks and passed. It was exactly what everyone says it is: Vocab, Map Interpretation, Three-point problem, rule of Vs, Geophysical methods, and some GIS stuff. If you go through the Reg Review book and practice questions you will be perfect.
The PG was COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. I'd been studying since before the FG, and consistently through winter with groups, myself, several hours a week, and several full days on weekends. I completely went through Reg Review multiple times, knew how to perform every calculation, knew all the facts, passed the exams, and felt very confident going into the PG exam. Looking back, the Reg review was not helpful for the PG, and the PG practice exams were a BREEZE compared to the real thing. Even though I'd been told it was a similar difficulty.
I took the exam at a testing center. Arrived about 45 min early (Exam at 8am) and there was a line out the door for people to get checked in. Old woman checking everyone in and it took forever. First people got to go immediately start taking the exam once checked in while the rest of us waited.
Showed ID, removed hat, jewelry, and put everything in a locker including water bottles. Handful of folks had graphing calculators but person didn't even look at them. You went into the exam with your ID, locker key, calculator, and protractor. I got in around 835am, so I'd been waiting a while. Escorted to my cubicle, and began the "training" session to show how the computer worked, how you could bookmark questions, how to select the answer, and navigate. Once done I realized that 4 minutes had gone by of my testing time (clock in upper right) which I though it would start once I got to questions, not for when I was learning to use the computer. Display had a grid of questions and clock in upper right, and the questions were on the main screen.
I knew it would be tough, but immediately was struggling on the first questions and bookmarking them to come back to (never had time to go back). Did not touch my protractor once, no measuring or tracing. The formula questions like Darcy's were given to you, but they would throw in something like porosity or other items to throw you off. LOTS of trick questions, LOTS of "NOT" questions. Felt like every question was a "stump the geologist" not "are you a capable thinker". Math was barely needed, plenty of unit conversions though (which were given).
The big difference between the FG and PG is, is the FG is laid out for you: "What is this definition" or "What is this process" - it is very straightforward. The PG is the practice, but felt more like the expert. Even someone in environmental consulting, who does plenty of monitoring took time to understand the questions related to leaking tanks and which analyte would be found on the furthest extent of the plume. The questions are not just step 1, step 2. It is all the way to step 15, which maybe just the PM or expert of the subject would know offhand. There were definitely questions I knew, but lots of obscure items that I've never heard of. They certainly loved the term "diabase dike swarms"
Lots of questions were written poorly, and were very confusing because several outcomes were possible depending on specifics. There is a "comment on question" option which I hammered often, which hurt my time. I wrote several complaints on questions explaining why there were issues. Unfortunately it sounds like several others who took the exam did not write any comments due to the time constraint, even though they had issues. If you have the time, definitely write because it helps throw out questions.
I worked all the way until the final second, could not go back and review. Left with many "bookmarked" questions on the grid.
Felt very defeated. I worked so hard, put such an effort in, and have so much experience in several of the questions, and also have a general interest in geology and processes, and even volunteer teaching geology for a tour group, and always answer all my friends questions on tectonics, natural hazards, and hydrology. Was shocked at how out of touch with the exam I felt.
I walked out and asked a few other folks hanging their heads if they wanted to go to the pub next door and get lunch/beers. A geophysics professional, a geotechnical engineer, an engineering geologist, and an environmental geologist - we all sat and discussed how out of touch our professional experience felt with what the exam asked. Just wacky questions that did not test our knowledge or profession, but challenged weird facets that would not matter in the real world.
Overall: This is an exam. It DOES NOT test your knowledge as a practicing geologist in the real world, it tests your knowledge on tiny tiny random details of one of the most broad professions, while constantly trying to trick you.
I highly recommend not only studying the facts, but how everything interacts and the overall results of different processes. For example, don't just study what a vector or raster file is, or what type is best presented on both, but what kind of specific maps/data matches up (USGS, Faults, Topography). Don't just study how TDS impacts water quality, but study what type of rock being transported by water is impacted by pH, TDS, and salinity compared to other rocks. Also, apparently you need to know everything about Diabase Dike Swarms (which I'd never heard of).
Unfortunately one of the most important things is how to actually take the test, which will help you more - because its not about knowledge, its about timing, trick questions, "NOT" questions, choosing between 2 answers that could be argued either way. Wish you all luck in the future!

with the right legendaries. And there lays the issue. I played all 5 classes throughout the 2 beta phases and what i noticed is the barbarian as well as the druid were the most gear dependent classes and struggled the most during leveling. At least without some helpful legendaries, which we will not have as many that early on in june. With a good setup however they can be viable choices and a lot of fun but until then fighting through low tier mobs with around 6 basic attacks per enemy? That's not great. That's how my leveling process kind of looked like with my druid since i wanted to see if it's possible to stay in werewolf form for the majority of the time to slay demons and heretics. It very much is possible so leveling was slower and not as smooth till i found some beneficial items, or grabbed some from my previously played chars that suited my playstyle. More basic attack speed, basic attack damage while fortified, shred buffs and so on.
In the end my lvl 25 druid's build was very engaging, mobile and deadly enough to the point where i think they balanced this game more around the legendaries and probably uniques to the point where they kinda lost focus of the foundational basic class kits without any crazy affixes and modifiers. So im not to worried about mid to endgame balance as of know, more so about the early hours of our playtime. Which is decided by our choice of character, item drops and their action or inaction to balance things out some more to find a solid middle ground somewhere in between a druid and a sorcerer, give or take.

TL;DR: Overall i very much enjoyed the beta and the direction this game is taking. Druid is very much playable, even if comparatively weaker especially while leveling. Game seems more gear dependent than initially thought and needs more balancing for the base kits and not totally revolving around items.

In my world I have many races here is a brief summary of them and what they are
Bovidae Description: humanoid body hooved feet with bull/buffalo-like heads with horns of varying sizes & shapes they have fur covering their whole body in varying lengths, patterns, & colors. They are one of the larger races, with the largest reaching the size of some Ursidae, they are broad and very muscular. they can be found all over the western hemisphere. A peaceful people that live in large groups, share most things and are rarely the aggressors in situations. They tend to be great farmers, laborers, and builders. They focus on defense and have safety in numbers mind set they are friendly towards all races and are accepting of most if they help and contribute to the group they also for the most part are vegetarians.
Canidae Description: humanoid body pawed feet with four toes they have canine heads with varying shapes they have fur covering their whole body with fur patterns and colors, and they have claws on their hands and feet they are smaller than most races but are of medium to smaller sizes and some are on the large size they have the greatest variety of any race. They are also the fastest of the races, with Feliade behind them. they can be found all over the western hemisphere. They are numerous and can be found in most countries and assimilate into any kingdom or nation they have great families (the two biggest being the wolf, and mastiff, with other great families and smaller ones as well. They are very into bloodlines they will have generations living in homes or grouped together homes near each other, they are extremely loyal and are great trackers, hunters, and livestock farmers they are friendly to most races and will work for anyone but will protect their pack/family at all costs they are also for the most part carnivores
Elephantidae Description: humanoid body flat feet with 4 toes and 4 fingers, they have an elephant like head with big ears. They have varying lengths of fur and tusks they live the second longest of all the races they also have great memories and are one of if not the largest of all the races their smallest matching some of the tallest of the other races. they can be found all over the western hemisphere They are outcasts for what their ancestors did and are a dying race clinging on to survival, they have no lands of their own and are now nomadic traveling in groups or finding logging under lords, kings, or whoever will house them. They find work as laborers or mercenaries and eat mostly vegetation. They are a proud people and some are trying to change their name and make up for their ancestor’s wrongdoing, other wishes for the power they once had.
Felidae Description: humanoid body with pawed feet and hands with retractable claws on both four fingers and toes. They have cat-like heads that vary in shape, and they have fur covering their whole body with varying colors and lengths. They are for the most part medium-sized but most of them are bigger than Canidae and have some larger sized members. They are the third most abundant race and they can be found all over the western hemisphere. They can be found all over the western hemisphere They are natural-born hunters and a lot of them form smaller prides (groups) or go out on their own. They have a loner mindset and care for few outside their pride and can be described as being cold killers that you can never get a judge on. They eat mostly meat and fish.
Sapidae Description: They are humans very magically inclined, the highest magic-born users out of all the races. They have varying color skin from dark to pale and hair that has varying colors as well, and they are not fully covered in hair as most races and have the largest diversity in looks besides Felidae and Canidae. Only found on the Island hidden by the storm (Storm Island) They are in a constant stay of war against the click, a virus that takes control of bodies and uses them as zombie like minions until they are burned or the area in which the click attached itself is destroyed they live in very defense-oriented cities with many passages and escape routes and are constantly giving up cities to the click and then taking them back once most of the click leaves they are also stuck on an island surrounded by a eternal storm that destroys any ship that ventures into it. They eat anything they can.
Ursidae Description:humanoid body with a bear-like head and claws on their hands and feet they have fur covering their bodies which vary in length and color. They are one of the bigger races behind Elephantidae, Hippopotidae, Rhinocerotoidae, Sharidae and Balaenopteridae. They can be found all over the western hemisphere. They are very solitary people enjoying their space and live distance from each other. Even their few cities are spread out, they have a big sense that the strongest should survive and lead. They will have families of 3 to 5 sometimes. They work mostly as bodyguards, mercenaries, and hunters. They eat meat and berries along with some vegetables. They are a proud race and will enact violence when it is needed and sometimes when its not to prove a point

I was a cannabis user consistently for a decade, with a 2 month break in 2019 (unemployed and needed a new job). I would typically use a minimum of a gram of CONCENTRATES a day avg slightly over an oz a month not including the occasional edible (about 300mg a month) . (this is the issue) I have a urine test coming up for pre-employment i have not smoked in about 10-14 days, and since late feb my usage went down to it became nothing as i havent had money to purchase anything. I am 5ft8in and approx 145-160lbs, ive been walking in attempts to sweat it out (8 miles a day for the last 2 days), consuming a min of 120oz of fluids, and stopped eating fatty foods, i am under 30. Ive done some research on the subject and most cases claim for thc in "heavy users" to stay in the system for up to 67 days. ive been working on detox methods for about 10 days ( a day or two before learning about this job opportunity). However i think my usage is exponentially higher than most "heavy users" and given how many at home tests ive failed in the last week or so im starting to feel defeated and wonder if anything i do will even help at this point. i have probably a week most to correct this, i would attempt the fake urine if i knew i would not be watched however i believe this is tied with a department of transit physical so im sure that would not work. I feel at this point im probably just screwed til june even with my efforts.
TLDR: i smoked a gram of concentrates a day for years, is there even a remote chance in passing in less than 4 weeks of abstinence and detox methods ?

Hello everyone, my name is Jay and I’m here looking for a partner and possibly a new friend!
How many times have you joined a game where it’s either fizzled out or you were the only one active it seems? I have a proposition for all those forever DMs out there who need a little break, but still get the chance to stay in the driver’s seat. Let’s run simultaneous games where I DM your character through a game and you do the same for me. Two games does sound like a lot, but remember, you only have one dedicated person to help push things along. I understand things can get rolling in one, so we’d shift our focus, but the point is that we are both getting the opportunity to play and DM at the same time. It doesn’t have to be a 50/50 split back and forth, we can take a break to focus on a combat or finish an important scene before swapping over. The best part about pbp I’ve found is that you play when you can.
I live in the EST time zone and would like to be searching for someone near the same so we’re not on the complete opposite side of the world (no hate to my Australian friends, it’s just hard to play sometimes). I’ve been running games and playing them through pbp for several years now, completing all of the ones I have personally started. This community can be awesome, and I’ve found a ton of great friends this way, so I want to reach out again. I’m familiar with bots such as Avrae, Rod, and Tupper, though I’m always finding new things to learn with them. I’d consider myself a veteran in 5e, having been playing the system since its release. I’m not perfect though, I’ll still mess up a rule here and there and I’m not going to be upset if you do too. I’m all for having fun and using rule of cool when I can, it’s about creating an awesome story along with the rules. Roleplay is an important aspect of the game and I’ve found pbp is certainly rp heavy, but I feel like with a one-on-one style of game combat wouldn’t drag as much.
