Basically there’s been times I jump up over a crate. Only to come down, hit the floor THEN take the damage even though I was behind cover. Is this my fault for my internet? Or something in my control or no? I play on a acer monitor. I have an Ethernet cable. Around 40ms per game and 1% pocket loss. (I also play on console Xbox series s) Im really confused on what to do and wondering if im just lagging for the enemies and that’s causing me issues? Thanks if anyone sees this and comments

But hello regardless. I'm a 26M, and I work a very exciting office job. That's right, I get to do all the fun stuff, like nagging clients who refuse to reply to me, filling in forms, and praying for a 300% pay rise. All the fun stuff like that.
Oh, and I'm plus sized. Which I should have mentioned right away, but then you wouldn't have heard about the extinction of the unicorns.
I speak German, Italian, passable French, and I'm learning Spanish. Oh, and I speak English, which would be an odd skill to be lacking. Quite something to be able to fluently write English but not be able to speak it.
I'm a big History fan, which some people have mistaken for me being an expert. Trust me, I'm not. It was one of my worst GCSE grades. But I'm fascinated by how life was a long time ago, the older the better. Anything post-Hastings starts to get a bit too modern, I like the really old stuff. Stuff like Ancient Egypt, or even older. I'd love to get in a time machine and see all this history for myself.

In terms of pop culture, I'm a big Assassin's Creed, Doctor Who and Star Wars fan. Believe it or not, I've never read/watched Harry Potter or any of the MCU movies. I'll get around to them one day, I swear. I mostly game on the PS5/PC, although I do have a Switch and Xbox. Other than what I mentioned, I play stuff like Hitman and Red Dead a lot.

The thumb sticks on the steam deck specifically, but also just any overall (ps controller, Xbox controller, switch controller, etc.) if you were to press hard on it could it break? I’d assume not since it’s designed to be pressed down to use L3 or R3.

Is anyone else extremely disappointed with the Oculus 2 headset? My son has wanted it for a long time, so we made a deal that if he raised £300 i would pay the rest. And he did, he saved up all his Christmas/birthday money, sold his xbox and some of his good funko pops to get the funds and we bought it for £429. All i can say is what a heap of utter shite! I'm actually shocked at how bad it is and a bit gutted for him tbh. We are jut a normal WC family and that is a lot of money to us. It's been difficult to save the money (especially when a box of Crunchy Nut Cornflakes hit £4.50!) but he stayed true to the cause and saved every penny. Now I'm not a tech genius nor am I a crazy gamer but I have eyes and ears and a head, so this is all purely from an out of pocket, tired 39F mum's perspective (so be nice).

• The headset is so clumpy and heavy and the strap is basically useless (especially if there's more than one person playing). It's constant adjustment to make it fit every time and then it either sits so far up on your head, it risks falling off or down too far it's nipping at your ears. Side mention for the baggy top strap (It's like a multi purpose bra strap, whose sole purpose is to piss you off).
  
• The 3 "adjusting" eye lenses...well unless you're perfectly cockeyed or you're eyes sit at 9 & 3, it will never be right and just make you feel nauseous. Also why make it so you are touching the lenses? Have they seen any child any age near any glass?
  
• The silicone face strap thingy provided with it, comes loose as soon as you remove the headset and makes your face sweat in goggle shape.
  
• The controllers are okay but I suppose comfortability depends on hand size. Also did we not learn from the Wii era not to make the straps white? 2 months in and they resemble that "mixed washed manky grey Y front/bra colour"
  
• The "free" games are terrible and are akin to insert any shitey free app game on ios or google play. The graphics are shocking and for the most part basic, repetitive and boring. Then everything else is a "trial" or "demo" then it's another £15-35 to get the full version of the crap game. Same with fitness etc they all want a monthly subscription to punch a couple of flying discs.
  
• But the biggest issue (imo) is the disgusting language, abuse, racism, bullying in the games and in the metaverse. The "kid friendly" rooms/games are full of grown men hanging about with teenagers and little kids and the things I've heard are pretty shocking (and I'm no prude...heard/seen it all). This isn't your average COD/Fortnite banter and swearing but this is a new level of disgusting.
  

Now I get kids will be kids (I have been one and I have one). They will always get carried away playing games and are annoying AF singing or repeating YouTube memes over and over and over again. Then 9/10 they will always start argee bargee'n about who's party leader, who's played the game longest etc and start shrieking and swearing...i get it...it's the passion!
Also, kids have always and will continue to play "adult" games before they reach the"recommended age" - listen, I knew that "nobody puts baby in a corner" at 9 yo, so the rules don't change, just the content. But I cannot get my head around why a grown man would want to play a game of VR tag on a Friday night, with a bunch of kids looking like a Gorilla. Then use really shocking language, bully/harass/ racially abuse them? Then laugh or double down when confronted about it by another adult? The most typical justification being the same as your average nonce, the old, "well the website says you need to be 13+ to use the oculus, so they shouldn't be here" so what, that would be okay if they were all 13 then? Which is still a child! and your a 42 yo man who's in a pancake flipping competition with 6 kids, calling them the N word and asking them things like "are your mum and dad together or are you a little bastard?". Who does this? And they aren't "trolling" for a giggle, these are creeps and unhinged freaks. It's not just one or two either, it's a large percentage of the people in the room. There's something really wrong with these types of people. Sitting alone on a night with a headset on, hanging about with little kids saying sexual and disgusting shit to them! And it's been all men i have heard. (I'm not a man hater, nor a feminist, I love the normal gamer banter and don't mind the boytalk at all) but this is not that! Not in my experience anyway, even some of the worse stuff I've seen/heard is nothing like this. This is intentional and targeted at kids. Also I would understand if you were allowing your kids to play games that were targeted at adults, then it's obvious they shouldn't be there and anything they hear will be 18+ but these are silly kids/young teen games, targeted towards children under 18. So why would adults be paying tag or hide and seek with kids to then say these things? I'm not talking about parents playing along either.

• The kids are mostly horrible to one another too, they don't want to have fun or team up they are just little cretins out to bully the kids and say anything with a bit of shock value. Any kids asking genuine questions about the game or asking to play are just insulted straight off the bat and harassed or ignored till they leave. The only way to stop it is to mute them and they're all screaming at once so who knows what one is the wee prick...they all are! So you then mute your mic and turn sound down and then what's the point of it?

It may well "bring people together" but (imo) it is a magnet for the worst type of people and the anonymity aspect and the difficulty in reporting/blocking people, just means all the good people give up and are muted or playing with their own group of people and you're left with the swamp creatures...a bit like OLD in your 30s!
So overall I'm counting down the days till said child is bored of hearing Macklemore singing Thrift Shop for the 8th time, whilst watching some creepy bloke in the corner rubbing his avatar's thighs or being told to GTF for the 10th time, just for asking how to shrink his gorilla! Then we can sell it and make it some other person's expensive mistake!

In the last few hours I've seen numerous posts that were very, very clearly GPT replies. I'm talking down to the 'in conclusion' for the finale in some four paragraph structured response to the top post in new.
These things are so obvious, I threw one in a detector and it gave a 100% certainty.
I think it's obvious that grifters will use automated GPT replies to try and farm moons, in order to keep the sub quality high this should be bannable if proven.

I've done this kinda write up on many posts from poeple asking this question so I thought I'd just make it one single post and link to it the next time I see this question pop up... So here's my experience with streaming...
I've spent 2 years trying pretty much everything that's been out... So here's the mainstream and not so mainstream options...
As you can see its been almost an obsession for me 😂 - so if anyone has any new ideas, I'd love to hear it... Anyway here goes....
Phone + controller - way too small a display for streaming aaa titles - 5.5" 16:9 is what you get on 6.8" 20:9 screens... (Technically can use custom resolution and stream 20:9 but lotta games don't support it and at that point you are looking at widescreen patches etc... And it's waay too much work)
Tip - use displaywars website to calculate screen sizes
Same applies to the Razer edge and gpd XP/XP+
Retroid pocket 3+, ayn Odin, retroid pocket flip etc... Display is still too small and they have short switch style sticks which I found to be a deal breaker... Games like hades, dead cells, Stardew valley... It's perfect for... Uncharted, hzd, GTA etc... Not so much... Basically if you play anything where u need to aim, you are gonna find it challenging
Pimax portal - haven't used the sticks, so not sure but the 5.5" display rules it out for me
Abxylute - perfect sized display, short sticks (why? Guys why?)
G Cloud - perfect - good sized display, full sized sticks... The best option right now but it does cost a pretty penny so...
...Steamdeck - given how close to the steamdeck the g Cloud gets, you might just get the steamdeck instead... It's heavier, slightly worse battery life (if streaming only) but you can also run some games natively which I know isn't what someone looking for a game streaming device wants but it's a nice bonus
Windows handhelds - great only if you want it doubling down as a PC... Else waay too expensive and short on battery for just streaming
So basically that leaves us having to choose between the g Cloud and steamdeck...
If you insist on still looking for more here are some lesser known options
Retroidboy (phones custom built into controllers) - super expensive, needs import from china, same small display and short stick issue
Lenovo legion play - difficult to source, filled with bugs due to not being final units... But almost beats the gcloud by being cheaper and lighter and matching it on everything... If only the damn units worked 😢 (also needs import from china... As in someone to pay in rmb and fwd to you)
Nvidia shield portable - small screen but the controller is so damn comfortable... Still small screen, old af, slow micro USB charging, stuck on Android 5.1 (no Xbox game pass or psplay since they need A6)... A6 custom ROM available but is iffy...
Nintendo Switch Jailbroken - could work... Not a fan personally cuz I don't like switching between Android and the regular os - and I'd need android since I also want to stream psplay... Maybe worth exploring for someone looking at gamestreamig...
Lenovo y700 + custom controller - this is promising... It's been tempting me for a while since I have the y700... but the custom controller is $200 and needs to be imported from china so I've kinda not tried it yet... So Quality remains unknown... Lenovo y700 + gamesir x2 pro - this is a good solution... Technically gamesir x2 pro doesn't fit tablets but if you break the plastic to the back slightly, you can make it fit it... It is an easy mod... Check yt to see how easy it is... And 8.8" screen is super cool, sd870 also beats the sd720g on the gcloud... The tablet is 350 ish, the controller 75 (don't remember exactly) - could be an option (alternatively cheaper tablets with type c like the realme pad mini could work)
Foldable + telescopic controller - only makes sense financially if you already own a fold... Maybe you could give this one a shot... Deal with irregular aspect ratios... Could be a cheap solution (...if you already own a fold)
Rog Phone + kunai gamepad - excellent gamepad, excellent phone, again just too small a display for AAA gaming but... It has an extra type c port... So if you wanted to say use an nreal air or Lenovo t1 glasses and get the display projected in front of you... This is the only phone that would let you do it while connected to a controller
Phone + nreal air + Xbox clip + Xbox controller - doable but kinda clunky and we are going waaay over budget here 😁
This is pretty much all I've tested and thought of - after all this I settle on the gcloud usually or my steamdeck if I don't wanna stream and just natively play on device 😊

Hi, am I being fair, or am I expected to pick up all of the housework? So this isn't necessarily an angry argument, more like my husband and I trying to find the balance.
We have a 4 month old baby. I'm a SAHP, he works full time from 5pm- 1am 5 days a week.
I am on baby duty during these hours and then at 1am I go to sleep. This is because I cannot sleep unless my husband is there to watch the baby (its my own issue I'm dealing with)
Then from 1am to around 7-8am he tends to the baby, plays his xbox and sleeps downstairs until like 7-8am .He used to wake me up earlier but because he falls asleep down stairs, it's a bit of a win for both of us. He knows he can just come get me up when he's ready but he's happy to get a few hours or so downstairs. Then he comes downstairs and plays xbox again until its time to go to work. We split making dinner.
He is in NO way choosing xbox over the babies or even my needs. He's an amazing father. However my point is, when he is on baby duty, or during the day before he goes to work. I would like him to maybe do like 1 chore sometimes. When the baby naps I'm constantly cleaning trying to keep on top of the housework so it doesn't overwhelm. Me he plays xbox for hours a day and I would like him to pick up the odd chore to lessen the load for me. I'm literally talking like a 95% to 5% split.

I’ve no idea if I’m submitting this right, and if not, I’ll keep it short; I honestly don’t want to reflect on this incident long
I’m a boy and was maybe 9-10 years old and I lived in a suburban town in Ohio. I still do but have long since moved. Anyway I had a friend who was around 12 turning 13 (we’ll call him JD) and he was considerably my actual friend. I had made friends with the other kids in the neighborhood but I usually was the punching bag, being a small and frail looking kid.
One day JD was at my house in my room while mom was at work, and my sister was hanging out with her friends in our basement. We were playing everything from Xbox to action figures, to then wrestling. Honestly I’ve no idea what led up to it but we both ended up underneath my bed. Eventually I felt him touch my thighs and both his and my own pants were unbuckled. I can’t remember how but he convinced me to put his “unit” in my mouth, and he did the same to me. When I wouldn’t go “low enough” he’d get mad and push my head down. I forced myself away from him, re-dressed myself and when we had both gotten ourselves situated and clothed, my sister had barged into my room. I didn’t say anything and neither did JD, so she assumed we were just playing or hiding. I haven’t told anyone this in person, and I never knew how to truly feel about it. I’ve never seen JD since we moved, and honestly wouldn’t recognize him. And I’m happy for that at least.

I got pregnant at 23 in 2020 at the start of the pandemic. My entire pregnancy was within the quarantine time period so it was an incredibly isolating and unprecedented situation. I didn’t have my family, my friends, no in person doctors visits. Nothing. Not to mention I was the first of my friends to have a kid so no one was really happy for me. It was more like “oooo…that’s cool…are you sure?” My child’s father, whom I lived with at the time, is 12 years older than me and had lived a very full life so for him this was the natural next chapter. But I was freaking out the whole 9 months. Every day I was alone in the house, no car, watching the world collapse on the news, watching my friends retreat with each other while I was stuck on an island. At my lowest I started to self harm as a means of coping and even oddly started burning things as a means of escape (all things my partner missed because he was too busy playing Xbox after spending the whole day away at work). The depression was harrowing. I wished for a miscarriage at least once a week. I wondered if I could manage to throw myself down the stairs. I wanted to OD but then I thought how it would be worse if the baby survived with complications. Fast forward to having her and the post partum depression was just as bad as during if not worse. It was around this time that I started to realize my partner was not someone I could spend the rest of my life with. The last straw was when he found me crying on the bathroom floor and I let him know I was struggling, his response was “men go through post partum too, you know.” The minute I stopped breast feeding I fell into alcoholism. I was always discreet but man could I knock it back. I would keep small bottles hidden for myself around the house, fill a water bottle with tequila, drink wine in the morning instead of coffee…
I could never properly bond with my daughter. I still can’t. I dont feel that overwhelming love oxytocin feeling when I hold her or she calls me mommy. My ex and I coparent and when it’s my week without her I don’t miss her and I get sad every time it’s my turn to pick her up. I feel like I’m only holding on so that I won’t seem like a bad person and so that my family won’t disown me.
I had so much potential to do great things in this life and that’s the saddest part. Is that I cheated myself out of a good life, out of success, out of youth, out of love even. Maybe if I had waited I could’ve loved being a mom. But it’s a struggle just to keep going and I’m scared alcoholism will consume me.

Thinking about getting the headset but I travel sometimes with my switch or game away from my desk in the living room. Currently I just Bluetooth to the Switch alone (handheld) or use the aux cable/bluetooth to my phone for discord/music/calls. I also do the same for Xbox with the Aux cord to the controller. From what I understand the headset powers down once you plug in the aux cord.

Xbox One S System - Okay, so here's the deal with this (I want to be as transparent as possible). I'm listing this now because i've officially had enough with this system. While it does work and i've been using it the last several years on the daily, it will randomly freeze/slow down (usually during the best parts of the movie). Now it's VERY few and far between, but when it does happen its so freaking annoying. Basically you have to restart the system and then it takes like 2 hours to load everything up. After that...works great, no issues at all. Makes no sense to me. Comes with the power cord! : )
Xbox 360 System - So kind of the same deal as above, as i've had it with this console as well. System runs amazing....but the freaking disc tray. Sometimes it opens, sometimes it won't. Some times you have to hit the button 4 or 5 times, sometimes 70-80. No patience for that lol. i swear there is a certain emotion that I only feel when i'm pressing the eject button over and over again on this system. So i need to get it out of my life. Comes with power and av hookups.

I'm having trouble going offline with a One X. In Network Settings when I select Go offline or Disconnect wireless it doesn't do anything except blink once indicating I selected it and the same goes for when I have a wired connection. I've seen a vid of someone going in offline mode and it changes the screen accordingly (mine doesn't). Any idea why it doesn't seem to go into an offline mode? I luckily have stable internet and always try going hardwired and my Xbox One X does work wired but not being able to go in offline mode so I can play offline without having my files auto erased when I'm back online would be great to have for the occasion my internet is down so of coerce help troubleshooting why it's not working is appreciated in advance. PS: i can't seem to find anyone having this issue on google or reddit so hopefully this reddit post will also help other people having this seemingly rare issue I'm having.

• ...a Paragon System? Yes, but it is very different than Paragon from D3. Unlike D3's Paragon, D4's Paragon is NOT account-wide and you do NOT have unlimited Points for it (gained from Level 50 to 100 + via some other objectives). It is "Paragon in Name-only" so to speak.
• ... Respecs? Yes, but they cost Gold. You can respec individual Skill Points. Due to the Gold Costs for respecs increasing with Character Level, you can't respec High Level Characters too much each day.

i deposited money into an atm and 8 pm PST on 4/1, and i did get an email receipt but when i login online or check the app, my balance isnt updated and there is no transaction showing my deposit. whats going on?

Whenever I play in the newest Rocket League map, Deadeye Canyon (Oasis), I experience a good amount of lag and stutter, and it seems as if my FPS drops down when playing that map only. The other thing with this problem is that it only occurs when looking in the direction of the biggest mountain in the map, which is facing the orange teams goal, making most games in the arena unplayable. I don’t know if this is just a problem for me (I’m on xbox I should mention) but a couple of my friends experience the exact same problem.

I got some type of marriage proposal for a character, and owing to this games wildly terrible controls on the xbox, I accidentally dismissed it. The game then autosaved, and I accidentally chose exit and save since my controller has a sticky d-pad.
When I reloaded the game, I looked up the comically unintuitive controls to access the log (holding down the windows button then pressing B) -- only to find an empty log... In like 1 minute of gameplay, did I just wipe out my only chance to see the marriage proposal?
I really enjoyed war bands, and this game has been comically bad in terms of design so far. Appreciate any help!

I have fiber optic internet, and have roughly 1 GB up and down. When I use an Ethernet I’m where I should be at speed-wise. However, when I use the Wi-Fi I’m at around 100-150 mbps up and down. When I speedtest the WiFi through my phone (same location as the Xbox) it’s at around 900 mbps.
Anyone have a resolution for this? I tried changing the DNS settings as well

We live in Brampton, Ontario. My parents and I purchased our first house in 2019 (I had to co-sign as they don't make enough for mortgage approval), after living in an apartment for the longest time. We got our basement finished with the purpose of renting it to help pay the mortgage. My friend's mom asked to rent to her relatives (2 men) on a monthly basis.
One of the guys moved out a few months after but we were never informed of it. It started to go downhill from there. 2 more guys moved in without our permission (claiming they were here on a visit for a week). That was a few months ago and the lease was never updated to account for the "new tenant". These guys invite their friends over every day, there is always someone new coming in and out throughout the day. Now, this is not an issue during the daytime but this goes on all through the night. They are always parting and making noise at night, despite us asking them nicely to keep it down (can hear the noise through the vents). They keep the door unlocked, so people just come in and out freely. It's turned into a safety issue as we don't know the people coming in and out.
They also cover up the smoke detector so they can smoke inside and the alarms sometimes go off in the middle of the night; they already broke the detector once and had to get it replaced. They also don't keep the place clean and treat it as a trap house. My parents work 12 hr shifts and often have to wake up by 4:30 AM for their shift, even on the weekends and this is disturbing their sleep. My parents confronted the "freeloaders" asking them why are they living without permission, and they just mock and laugh at my parents stating they can do whatever they want since they pay rent to the original person that is still on the lease. I can't talk to them since they don't speak English and I can't converse properly in their language.
My mom's friend also tried confronting them and they don't listen to her either. We threatened to call the cops and they just threaten back by saying "do it". We kept asking the tenant on the lease to evict the place and after a few months, he agreed to move out by March 30, hence we didn't charge the rent for that month as we initially took the first and last month's deposit upon signing the lease. It's April 1 today and they still haven't moved out, now claiming to move out on April 4. Now admittedly this is the first time we ever rented and have made mistakes in the process as it was a learning opportunity.
Now they are just being a pain in the ass and we just want them gone. We feel like they own the place and we are the renters. If they don't move out by April 4, what can we do legally to get them evicted?
