Living in Belgium so some parts that are cheapemore easily available in the US aren't here. My question is if it's worth it to go for a 6950 xt instead over the 6750 xt. It's about €250 extra but looking at Tomshardware it's a pretty significant upgrade and my budget was around €1500-1600. I will be playing on a 1440p 144hz monitor. I will use it mostly for gaming (Elden Ring, Apex, League, Cyberpunk that sort of stuff) and general use.
Will the rest of my build be able to handle a 6950xt as well?

2023.04.01 15:42 GloriousStonerHoes Building A Basic Wardrobe v7.0

Introduction

If you have no idea how to dress and want a simple basic wardrobe guide / shopping list to get started, this post is for you.
Alternatively, for those of you who want to start traversing beyond the basics, I've included some baby steps that are perfectly safe to incorporate in almost any beginner's wardrobe, but offer a little bit more interest and creativity than the most basic of the basic.
Disclaimer: This guide is targeted toward more traditional clothing styles (essentially, a safe blend of workwear, Americana, and prep). It is not the only way to dress well! If these clothes simply don't appeal to you at all, that's totally okay. Consider looking into other styles, and reading stuff from a variety of fashion communities - for example, see if things appeal more to you in streetwear, malefashion, navyblazer, etc.

The Basic Wardrobe - visual guide HERE

Tops
Bottoms
Mid-layers
Outerwear (as needed for your specific climate)
  • Light jackets such as a trucker jackets in indigo/black denim or tan/olive cotton, chore coats in olive/brown, or field jackets in olive/brown/gray.
  • Raincoat in olive, gray, or black, although vibrant colors can work too.
  • Warm jacket such as an overcoat or parka in dark neutrals (gray/brown for overcoats, olive/gray/black for parkas).
  • Baby steps: There is a whole wide world of jackets out there, both light and heavy, so look into several different varieties to figure out what you like.
  • Avoid: Trying to skimp out on jackets if you live in a cold/rainy climate. Being too cold or getting soaked is miserable!
Shoes
Casual tailoring (optional, if needed for a job/event or if you like to wear it)
Semi-formal tailoring (optional, if needed for a job/event or if you like to wear it)

2023.04.01 15:15 Phooka_ Those who "sacrificed a career" and moved back to the family farm, how did it go? (especially with cattle/sheep operations)

Morning, hope all is well.

26 M lifelong "poor farm boy", but I've been in school for 8 years and I'm currently finishing my master's degree in sustainable agriculture. It seems the predominant social pressure is to get the best job possible, anywhere possible. But honestly, I cringe at the thought of making a mid-level salary in some random city, with no friends, no family, and pointlessly high rent. My main goal was to find an agriculture job close to home, such as the NRCS, and help out with the family in my free time. This was such a strong desire that I split with my gf of 1.5 years, because she wanted to live 10+ hours away for up 8 years before moving back to our home state. I loved her but I couldn't be away from the farm and my family for so long.
Unfortunately, I haven't had good luck finding local jobs, despite almost 8 years of work/school experience with less than 8 days off in 3 years, including weekends and holidays.
My dad and brother, who co-run the family farm, are pressuring me to move back and ranch full-time. They want to add hair sheep to rotationally graze behind the cattle. I love cows, I love sheep, and I love the family farm, but I have several huge worries:
(1) Work life balance. Between school, internships, and the farm, I have worked every single day for the last 5 years, with less than 8 days off INCLUDING weekends and holidays. My family works even harder. I understand farming is hard work, and I'm ok doing chores on weekends and holidays and never having a real day off, but I don't think I'm being an unrealistic picky princess by wanting to work towards a life where you can do your chores for 2-3 hours a few mornings/week and take the day off to fish / hike / actually enjoy the farm and the beautiful community we are in.
(2) Too little money. I'm okay living in poverty. I'm extremely frugal and resourceful. However, I would like to have a place of my own. I'm learning how to build earthen roofs, pole frame houses, cob & strawbale wall construction, but to actually purchase a home or build one with a good foundation will still be a ton of money that I don't ever expect to make farming. On top of this is healthcare. I live in mortal fear of an ambulance ride putting me in debt the rest of my life. That would be the single biggest driver to working for the NRCS.
(3) Relationships. As much as I love land, the best moments in my life is quality time with friends, and family. I used to always think I would meet someone in the city who either wanted to farm themselves, or lived a life/career that was compatible with living rurally. Hasn't worked out, and there are even fewer people my age back home. But if I wait my whole life to move home until I meet someone, I'll waste valuable time starting a tree orchard, going on my grazing crusade against wild parsnip, and spending as much time with grandpa before he passes.

Either way I'm going home. Either way I feel like my 8 years of school has been a waste of time and money. I have no interest in a career in some random town where I have no friends, no land, no family, and no roots. The question is if I go whole-hog and try to make it work farming with my family, or live a bit farther away and try to work whatever healthcare-providing job I can scrape up. If I knew 100% I could farm profitably and regeneratively with my dad and brother while maintaining a good work-life balance and eventually meet someone who would also find wholeness in that lifestyle, I would do it in a heartbeat. But that kind of thing usually only belongs in the storybooks.
So I guess, other than ranting & venting, I'm here to see if there are any success stories out there of people who made it work farming on their ancestral land.

2023.04.01 15:15 kevin_horner 5G Reliability Discussion

I was using my hotspot at work a couple of days ago and I was in a part of my building at work where the Dish signal was unusable so I manually switched to AT&T for a 4 GB download(linux iso).
I forgot to switch it back to Dish when I went home and the next morning I had no mobile data until I switched back to Dish. Has anyone else gotten the feeling that some of the stability issues are Dish trying to find the best way to steer our hotspots to the network they want us to be on?
Overall the reliability in my area has been improving a lot lately. So much so that it is unexpected for the hotspot to not be working. As long as I stay locked to 313-340 I don't have to reboot or toggle airplane mode daily anymore. I have seen some posts saying that they have been seeing slower speeds since the hack but I have been getting a pretty consistent 100+mbps on 313-340 in the St. Louis market.
I remember reading that 5G promises lower latency but in practice I am seeing worse latency on 5G regardless of carrier. My conclusion is that the bad pings are more from the current implementations of 5G and less because of Dish using Amazon backhaul.
Here are some results pinging google.com from various connections.
Tmo 5G UC(ipv6) - round-trip min/avg/max/std-dev = 40.934/114.208/393.864/100.484 ms
Tmo 4G LTE(ipv6) - round-trip min/avg/max/std-dev = 45.521/69.956/102.312/20.193 ms
PG 313-340(ipv4) - round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 95.031/199.718/406.094/90.432 ms
AT&T fiber wifi ac(ipv4) - round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 14.529/25.812/89.318/16.218 ms
AT&T fiber wifi ac(ipv6) - round-trip min/avg/max/std-dev = 12.447/20.077/22.263/2.928 ms
AT&T fiber eth(ipv6) - rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 10.598/10.668/10.777/0.110 ms

Who it’s for

Greatest Hits Content is best for you if you run a client-based business that sells a high ticket service, coaching, or consulting offer for $500 or more. If this is you, you’re probably struggling with:
  • Getting clients without needing to do manual cold email outreach
  • Acquiring a handful of clients who pay premium prices on a recurring basis
  • Working with clients who have more money than time
  • Executing a content strategy that works to acquire high ticket clients vs SEO traffic
  • Turning leads into clients so you never have to worry about losing one big client
  • Living month-to-month with unstable cashflow

What it helps you achieve

Greatest Hits Content will help you achieve the following in 30-90 days:
  • Build recurring revenue by adding 5-10 high paying, recurring clients to your business
  • Find the right content topics to attract larger clients who want your help
  • Position you as a “market of one” so clients can only get what you sell from you
  • Grow an audience you own and can contact anytime you need a new client
  • Take on a new client whenever you need by sending one email
  • Run small budget ads to your content to add new prospects to your email list daily
  • Get off the content creation hamster wheel by doing all of the above with 1-5 pieces of content (aka 1-5 “greatest hits”)

How it works

Greatest Hits Content is broken down into seven parts (with templates, email swipes, and examples you can model). Every part has an over-the-shoulder video training that is 30-90 minutes in length.

Part 1: Greatest Hits Content Survey

TL;DR: How to find content topics using a unique survey method.
  • The three questions you need to ask to find the best content topics.
  • The survey template we used to get 104 responses.
  • How to analyze the survey results and prioritize what content to create first.
  • How to check if the topics from your survey have organic traffic potential.
  • How to run this survey on social media if you don’t have an email list.

Part 2: AIDA Article Template

TL;DR: How to create slam dunk content every time with a proven writing template.
  • How to write the headline, outline, and body of your blog posts to hook in the right readers.
  • The writing template we use (based on the exact same template we used to attract the Head of Product Marketing at Amazon with one blog post).
  • Introduction and body copy formulas for the five blog post formats we’ve found that work the best to attract big clients.
  • Live examples of how to write content that gets clients and ranks on Google.
  • One resource you can use to outsource your content for less than $0.18 per word, if you don’t want to write it.

Part 3: Three Jabs Strategy

TL;DR: How to get over 10% of your traffic to convert into leads.
  • How to use “Utility Content Upgrades” to convert content-driven traffic into leads.
  • REAL LIFE EXAMPLE: The content conversion strategy we used on one blog to convert the blog’s traffic into 10,080 email leads per month.
  • How to track what individual pieces of content convert to clients the best, so you can double down on promoting your top converters.
  • How to make sure more of your emails hit your leads inbox so they see your offer (hint: Active Audience).
  • How to customize the experience for every visitor to your site so you get more conversions from your content.

Part 4: Red Packet Partnerships

TL;DR: How to get 100-1,000 leads in a day (without SEO or paid ads).
  • How to find partners who can add 100-1,000 leads to your business in one day, using your content and “guest emails”.
  • The free tool we use to add emails to our mailing list, when someone clicks a link inside one of our partner’s emails. No one teaches this.
  • How to track how many clients come from every partnership, so you can do more promos with partners who deliver high paying clients.
  • Three warm partner methods and three cold partner methods. Start with the warm partner methods for quick and easy partnership wins.
  • The exact partnership script we use to land win-win partnerships with big influencers we’ve never met before.

Part 5: $5 Hit Records

TL;DR: How to run small budget content distribution ads to get daily leads.
  • The one Google Analytics report you need to look at to see which of your content converts the best, so you can promote it in your ads.
  • A live demo of how to set up your ads inside the ad network with the exact conversion objective and settings you need to use.
  • The step-by-step standard operating procedure our team uses that you can follow or give to a team member to set up your ads for you.
  • A campaign planning template with ad copy, headlines, and blog post URLs so you can fill-in-the-blanks, then upload your ads into the ad network.
  • How we write ads that get shares and leads. I go over one of our highest converting ads with a 20% share-to-reaction ratio, and breakdown how to write one for yourself.

Part 6: Viral Content Upgrades

TL;DR: How to get strangers to share your content daily (without cold outreach).
  • What to do after someone opts-in to your email list so you get more traffic to your content without paying more for ads.
  • Content upgrades vs viral content upgrades. How, when, and where to use each of them to get maximum shares and leads from your content.
  • The free viral sharing tool we use to get people to share our blog posts. This is 25x more effective than the share bars you see on blogs nowadays.
  • How to leverage “credibility content” in your viral content upgrades to turn sharers into clients.
  • A live demo from blog post to social share so you can see how it all works how to set it all up.

Part 7: 900 Word Emails

TL;DR: How to get $500-$15,000 clients (without a phone call).
  • Four GOATs of email marketing who’ve driven millions of dollars from email. Here’s what I learnt from each of them to run 6-figure email campaigns.
  • How to use “presell content” to get the most qualified prospects in your audience to raise their hand that they want your help.
  • How to find the trigger points that get your clients to buy. Once you know these, you can keep using them in your emails to bring on new clients.
  • Word-for-word examples of how to write your emails, including how to word the call to action at the end of your email so people reply to your offer.
  • How to have a natural conversation with people over chat, so you can see if what you have to offer is a good fit for them, then bring them on as a client.

So I’m roughly 3 years into this wild hobby that is Bourbon and I figured I’d make a post highlighting some of the things I’ve learned along the way. As with anything posted on Reddit there will undoubtedly be people who disagree with me vehemently and that’s okay. We’re all different and thats the beauty of this hobby. There is no real right way to go about it and everyones journey is completely different. So with the disclaimer outta the way lets get into it!
1.) DON’T overpay for bottles!
Now before anyone starts rage commenting let me explain! There are bottles that I’d recommend overpaying slightly for. These bottles are limited releases that you have researched and believe that you would enjoy. For me these include Makers Mark limited releases, ECBP, Larceny BP, Store picks that are A.) from brands I already like and B.) from stores whose palettes are similar to mine.
Bottles I wouldn’t recommend overpaying for are standard bottles that are always in production. Bottles that fall into this category are Blantons, Buffalo Trace, Weller, EH Taylor, Elijah Craig 18, Blue Run, basically any ultra hyped bottles that aren’t batched releases, limited releases, or annual releases. My advice is to just be patient, you WILL find these bottles at or around MSRP! It will happen when its meant to! And it wil save you a lot of heartache when you find Weller SR for $25 and realize that it’s not the end all be all of whiskey. My buddy paid $99 the first time he found a Weller SR and it completely ruined the experience for him bc while it’s a great $25 bottle, I think we can all agree it’s not a $100 bottle.
2.) Try BEFORE, you buy!
Most towns have at least one bar with a good to great whiskey selection and I recommend you go there and try as many different bottles as you can. Take notes, in a notebook or on your phone, and decide if you truly want a full bottle of this bourbon. This would’ve saved me so much money! Everyone talks about how great MM CS is and I absolutely hate it! But I bought a bottle before trying it and now I’m stuck with a bottle I’ll never drink. And this isn’t a one time thing, I’ve got a shelf of bottles I wish I had never bought, they’ll get pawned off on my whiskey curious friends but in the meantime they are taking up my limited space. Theres no way to avoid ever buying a bottle you don’t like but trying them first definitely helps!
3.) DO your research!
Find reviewers whose palettes sync up with yours. This will help you find new and interesting bottles that you might enjoy. My personal favorites are T8ke, PrePredulesh, Kurt from SLB, and Sean from Bourbon Junkies. There are tons of prolific reviewers who have tried 1000s of whiskeys so use them as a resource! Also figure out the MSRP of a bottle before you buy it. It’s an easy way to not get ripped off.
4.) Fight FOMO!
The industry does a really good job of enticing bourbon enthusiasts to buy their latest products, we all know this. But there are a lot of products that honestly just kinda suck, looking at you kentucky owl takumi edition. Just because a product is new or even limited doesn’t mean it’s a great product! This harkens back to my previous point, do your research!
5.) DON’T sleep on everyday shelfers! I didn’t own a bottle of Old Forrester for the first year of my journey. I know, I know I’m an idiot. But I always passed on them for the rarer allocated stuff because I knew they would always be there so there was no sense of urgency to get a bottle. Fast Forward to now and I LOVE OF. The 1920 might be the best widely available bottle and the 1910 might be the best DO bourbon ever made but it took me forever to buy them because I was always looking at allocated stuff. Another great example of this is Jack Daniels SBBP, if you know you know. Just because a bottle isn’t allocated doesn’t mean it isn’t a banger!
6.) Loyalty Pays Off, Usually
I know it’s tempting to go to every store in your state looking for unicorns but in my experience the easiest way to get that bottle you’re seeking is to stay loyal to one store and get to know the people there. They’ll remember and take care of the people that are loyal customers. The main exception is big box store, odds are they use a points system so it’s all about how much you buy.
7.) Lastly, HAVE FUN!
It’s easy to get caught up chasing bottles, building your collection, reading reviews, watching videos, etc etc etc. Remember to stop and actually enjoy your bottles, this is a hobby not a job!
Anyway thats the best advice I could give to anyone getting in to this hobby, I’m by far no expert so do with this what you will. Cheers!

2023.04.01 14:41 throwingmeaccount Mental Health is burning, I am burning

I am not too sure if the flair is correct in the first place, but I do hope so.
Currently a JC2 student and JC1 was a fucking rollercoaster. I thought JC 2 would mellow down for exams you know? Like any normal school should but no because of the decisions I made in JC 1 that came haunting back at me. And truly, the onus is on me. (Although, I must admit that I never knew that people could be so dramatic and unreasonable. And getting harrassed with a classmated joking about the harrassment was not something I'd expect.)
+15 points to stress levels
JC2 has been so tiring that sometimes I'm just staring into space, falling asleep the moment I head home, and so unmotivated to study despite knowing that I should be better that this. A whole 10 tutorials behind for a subject alone. I have no idea how to start, where to start and yeah. Of course, this isn't to say that I totally have not started, but I am trying to be on-par with the current tutorials as well as clearing the backlog. Additionally, I do consults together with my teachers to clarify on the current topics that they are going through so that I would not have a truckload of conceptual knowledge to dump on to my teachers this Mid-Years (the first form of exams to test us). Which makes me even more worried about A Levels and the fact that my JC is pretty much bikini bottoms with regards to being able to help students achieve the grades and get into the degree they want.
+100 points to stress levels
I was done with making friends because of the countless dramas I was dragged into, and probably also due to the nature of my cca. It feels like the whole CCA is against me. Even if I ask them personally what is wrong, they won't tell me but it feels like they are avoiding me. And I have no idea who to ask, what to ask, how to ask any of them. However, my mother somehow scolded me one day, telling me that grades are not all there is to JC and that relationships matter too. I have no idea how she came up with the conclusion that I was not talking to anyone. Although she was on track, I am not one to make my mother worry hence my efforts of trying to get off the hook from her naggings of making more friends rather than reasoning with her why I had to keep my distance. It probably is a 'me problem' that I am unable to adapt to the culture of the JC and to suit the 'vibe' of my classmates of cca mates despite having spent a year in the college. But I do not think it is a good idea to when the class doesn't study during breaktimes and either goes off to talk about even more "tea" or jam to kpop (which i have nothing against since i love kpop too) but not when other people are obviously trying to study or read a kindle at one side.
+50 points to stress levels
I am trying my best to get the mental help that I need, so I decided to go CHAT and try to get a psychological evaluation at IMH through them but I have yet to get the mental health check. And I realised that I still need to tell my parents that I have depression and I have no idea how to tell them that their child has had 11 years of wanting to drop off a building since they were K2. I am already an embarrassment academic-wise and I do not deserve to bring the L to my family when I should be bringing honour. (Please share some tips on how to tell your parents that you may need to go to IMH for psych eval)
+200 points to stress levels
Total: 365 points
Every day of the year is a mess. I might end sooner than A Levels ends.
TLD life is a mess, academics, friendships, cca, school & mental health.

2023.04.01 14:24 yubller912 Is this really how it all ends?

I was at top of my class for the entirety of high school and even before that. I had stellar ECs, National Olympia, IGCSE grades and my essays I feel were incredible- I had a professional read through some of them and he was thoroughly impressed. I've been dreaming and working towards getting into a top college since I was literally 10. I skipped SOO many social events and put myself through physical angst at times pulling all nighters back to back for weeks at a time to make sure I got near perfect grades and I even shifted to go to a school that's known for their incredible college placements. But at the end of it, after a lifetime of continuous effort and investment, I hear back from colleges in Feb saying they were missing my HS transcript. That's when I talked to my school's counsellor and she said she "uploaded them on the wrong section" for me (she hadn't uploaded the transcript or certificate anywhere). So my entire early apps and ED (mostly target, a few reach and a few safeties) were all wasted except 1-2 safeties and targets who admitted based on self-reported grades. I still didn't lose hope though and hoped for an acceptance from a T10 in RD. After all, I dedicated my whole life and had all the necessary requirements that they needed in a potential student. Yesterday however, everything came crashing down with 6/6 ivies releasing their "unable to admit" letters. I even had interview offers from some of them and they all went incredibly well. After a few hours however my hope was back, for the last and only college. My no.1 choice. My Dream School. Stanford. I had an interview for the same and that went really well. My essays for Stanford were probably the best I had ever written and my honors/ECs, courses, and essays all linked together in an impeccable way. In the end, however, My dream was crushed. Almost 10 years of a build-up for this moment. Crushed in a matter of 2 seconds. What made it worse was everyone in my class had a top uni acceptance. Yale, UPenn, UCLA, Duke, Brown, Columbia, Darthmouth, Oxford, USC, and the list goes on. A lot of them were not even in school that often, took much easier classes than I did, had lower grades and had no olympiads or strong ECs. The final straw was when this cocky guy in my class who had no special ECs and an average of 7/9 (or an A) on his transcript (I had a 9/9 (A*)) got into Stanford. Fair play to him for getting in but even though I did so much, how was I rejected from each and every top uni whilst those with a significantly weaker application got into multiple? To make things worse my only acceptance was from a lower target school because of the wasted early apps. I don't know how to feel. My parents also feel I didn't do enough academically. But at this point I don't think a 100/100 would make things any better than a 97/100.
I'm confused as to what to do in the future now. I feel burned out but I know I don't deserve this. I did everything and did everything very well. I get it that admissions are sometimes random and unpredictable but it just sucks that I got absolutely nothing that I'd been dreaming about and worked towards for more than a decade. I put so much effort, drive and pure ambition towards everything important for college and exceeded even my predictions in terms of grades and ECs. Everything feels weird now. Anything I think about that is the past just hurts on another level. It's a weird but heavy pain I've never felt before. Can't believe I'll never feel that joy of getting an acceptance to a dream school and rushing to tell my fam. Can't believe I'll never get to write (dream school) '27 in my bio. Can't believe I'll never get that tagged story post by my friends saying "Congrats @......". Can't believe I have to plan for another life path after doing everything I possibly could. Can't believe it all ends like this.

2023.04.01 14:01 TheMightyBattleSquid My attempt at building a setting full of factions for each color combo Part 10(Final):

Part 1
Part 9
BRGW2: Anti-Self-improvement. Members of this faction want to get down with their bad selves. Black wants power over others and it wants to accomplish its goals immediately without spending the time required to earn it organically. Whether that is accomplished by taking from others or making pacts with other entities depends on the individual. Red is not thinking about nor has it ever seriously thought about regulating itself. It wants to stay 100% in the here and now always. Green wants to stew in its miserable situation. Looking around at its neighbors in this faction, who can blame them? What's going to change simply by being more optimistic? More knowledgeable about their situation? More accepting of loss? White fights off self-improvement with rigid structures and systems. Things have survived this many years with what's in place, why change what has worked thus far?
RGWU1: Anti-Control/Oppression of others. Liberators, in other words. Red's heart goes out to those suffering under the rule of others. It passionately seeks to end its and their suffering through action. Green's philosophy on interdependence means helping others who can't help themselves. This is just such a situation to act on it. You know White's in there with those two colors on this. Protecting the downtrodden and raising them up to White's level is what White does best! Blue is a proponent of free thought and it's hard to think for yourself when under duress. This faction works to undermine and dismantle the systems put in place by other factions to deny sentient beings' right to autonomy.
RGWU2: Anti-Self-motivation. Red members will shake up any status quo that would promote disobedience, even if it means that they themselves can never settle down. Green members will accept their situation even if it means they pass by opportunities to change it. White members will instill Law and Order by any means, even if it means restricting themselves. Being beholden to the rules not just as a citizen but by additional regulations as an enforcer of those rules. Blue members of this faction will push science forward at any cost to themselves. Personal ambition and desires lead to destruction, it is only by submitting to the will of the group can stability be maintained. They view dissent and nonconformity as threats to the group's survival so sacrifices must be made to serve the whole.
GWUB1: Anti-Chaos. Think Bant with a splash of Black. Green members will work with others to support each other in crisis. White members will shield others from the dangers found both outside and within. Blue members will find ways to navigate turmoil and recover from discord. Black members will take initiative to gain hold of the situation, whatever it may be. This faction wants to maintain its way of life and puts in the work to defend it by always taking gradual steps to bury their roots in deeper.
GWUB2: Anti-Passion/Emotion. Green members will rely on their learned helplessness at the risk of giving up on their passions. White will enforce law and order at the cost of losing their own freedom to follow their passions or to express their true feelings out in the open. Blue members surrender their ability to pursue passion projects or show favoritism towards any one field of work. While Black members maintain oppressive control over others at the cost of never planning or enacting their own agendas.
No five color because it feels too vague to really make a faction out of, let alone 2. Even going the negative route like I did here... What does it mean that a group is both anti-law and order as well as anti-chaos? It just kind of ends up as a big mess of contradictions lol
Whelp, that's everything. It was a fun thought experiment and I'm going to try using the work I put in here to try my hand at DMing a DnD campaign at some point.
Hope you all enjoyed it and have a great day!

==Simulacra===
Type: Volt - Fortitude
Simulacra: Yuno
Weapon: Proteus
-Shatter: 10.50
-Charge: 14.00
-Attack 18
-HP 1165
-Crit 14

==Skill==
-Fortitude Resonance: Cry of Weakness: Holding down the skill continually taunts nearby enemies and deal bonus shatter damage for up to 3 seconds and applying 1 mark of Predation to each enemy every 0.5 seconds. Upon releasing the skill, a magnetic needle substitute is made for 2 seconds times the duration held plus 1 to which aggro is temporarily transferred until expiration. Enemies that attack the substitute are taunted and receive 0.1x reflected damage. Become invisible for 4 seconds or until the Wanderer attacks an enemy or the substitute expires. While invisible, movement speed is increased by 35%, dodges cover twice the distance in the same time, and the next attack that hits a target deals +100% shatter damage and weakens the target's ATK by 15% for 10 seconds. Cooldown: 5 seconds x duration held + 10 (Max 25s).
-Non-Fortitude Resonance: Cry of Strength: Holding down the skill continually lowers aggro towards the Wanderer while dealing damage equal to 225% of ATK plus 12 per second for up to 3 seconds and applying 1 mark of Predation to each nearby enemy every 0.5 seconds. Upon releasing the skill, leap at the target with a horror beast claw, dealing dash attack damage equal to 418% of ATK plus 22 as a guaranteed crit with +30% crit damage and reducing the target's crit resistance by 5 levels for 10 seconds. Detonates any magnetic needle nodes touched by the attack independent of their cooldowns, each node dealing area damage equaling 76% of ATK plus 4, recovering 15 weapon charge per node detonated, and placing an additional node for 12 seconds. Cooldown: 2 seconds x duration held + 10 (Max 16s).
-Predation: Per mark up to 5 marks, enemies have crit resistance lowered by 2 levels and for critical hits taken: receive 1% more shatter and have 2% reduced elemental resistance. The Wanderer's movement speed increases by 3% per nearby mark active, up to 5 marks. Marks decay at a rate of 1 every 5 seconds.

==Discharge==
-Fortitude Resonance: Unbreakable Will: When weapon charge is full or Phantasia is triggered, switching to this weapon from another weapon removes all debuffs from the wielder and constructs a metal plate wall that stops projectiles for 5 seconds while dispersing magnetic needles into a ring which pulls in enemies towards the wall before scattering on the ground, reducing the movement speed of enemies within by 30% while dealing continuous damage equal to 76% of ATK plus 4 per second for 5 seconds with increased aggro generation. Damage immunity lasts 1.5 seconds while the skill is active (unavailable in Apex League).
-Non-Fortitude Resonance: Revenger's Requiem: Quickly leap to the target and slash multiple times, dealing total damage equal to 580% of ATK plus 31 and scattering 3 magnetic needle nodes for 12 seconds, max 7 on the field. Each node can be detonated by any volt weapon's electrify effect upon becoming fully charged, each dealing area damage equal to 76% of ATK plus 2 and recovering 15 weapon charge for each node detonated. Node detonation cooldown: 5 seconds. Damage immunity lasts 1.5 seconds while the skill is active (unavailable in Apex League).

1\*: While wielding Proteus, dodge attack damage that also critically hits applies a Predation mark and deals +20% crit damage and +25% shatter.
2\*: Increase the current weapon's base ATK growth by 16%.
3\*:
--Balance: For each mark of Predation active while wielding Proteus, dodging heals the Wanderer by 1% of max HP, reduces damage received by 1% for 3 seconds, and increases healing effect by 4% for 15 seconds. Cooldown: 10 seconds.
--Fortitude: For each mark of Predation active, unleashing any skill or discharge heals the Wanderer by 1% of max HP and reduces damage taken by 2% for 5 seconds. Cooldown: 5 seconds. In addition, for each nearby mark of Predation active while wielding Proteus, a party member unleashing a skill heals the Wanderer by 1% of max HP. Cooldown: 5 seconds.
--Attack: For each magnetic needle node detonated while wielding Proteus, heal the Wanderer by 1% of max HP. Cooldown: 10 seconds.
--Benediction: For each magnetic needle node detonated, heal party members by 17.5% of ATK within triple the detonation radius and increases party ATK by 2% for 5 seconds for each mark of Predation active.
--Only the highest stack of marks is counted.
4\*: Increase the current weapon's base HP growth by 32%.
5\*: Enemies receive 1% more damage dealt by the Wanderer for each mark of Predation. While wielding Proteus, restore 4 weapon charge points for each nearby mark of Predation active per second. Only the highest stack of marks is counted.
6\*: Increase Predation max to 7. In addition, increase Crit Rate by 1% and Crit Damage by 2% for each mark of Predation active. Only the highest stack of marks is counted.

"Originally invented by Project Ark for testing on G2-U subjects to wield inhuman instincts by substituting missing limbs with electrically charged magnetic needles in their insane plan to elevate humanity, this Proteus has been modified to recharge mid-combat and utilize metal plates which can camouflage."

==Normal Attack==
atk x5: While on the ground, attack 5 times.
-First Attack: Deal damage equal to 56.6% of ATK plus 3.
-Second Attack: Deal damage equal to 19.7% of ATK plus 1.
-Third Attack: Deal damage equal to 30%% of ATK plus 2.
-Fourth Attack: Deal damage equal to 47.1% of ATK plus 3.
-Fifth Attack: Deal damage equal to 136.8% of ATK plus 7 and strongly suspend the target.
jump + atk x3: While airborne, use normal attack to attack 3 times in a row in mid-air.
-First Attack: Deal damage equal to 107.9% of ATK plus 6.
-Second Attack: Deal damage equal to 114.0% of ATK plus 6.
-Third Attack: Launch the enemy at a nearby target or at the ground below if there is none, creating a shockwave upon landing that deals area damage equal to 142.8% of ATK plus 8 and stunning targets for 1 second. If the enemy cannot be launched, instead deal damage equal to 172.1% of ATK plus 9 and recover 100 energy weapon charge.

hold: Fortitude Resonance: Tap and hold normal attack to take a defensive stance for up to 3 seconds, reducing damage taken by 20% and recovering 10 weapon energy charge per 1% of max HP lost while held. Releasing the normal attack button while holding a direction performs a dodge covering twice the distance in the same time. Releasing before getting hit performs the dodge at no cost, constructs a substitute for 2 seconds to which all aggro is transferred until expiration, and the Wanderer becomes invisible for 2 seconds or until the Wanderer attacks an enemy. If a dodge cannot be performed, instead cast the standing version of this skill. Releasing the normal attack button without holding a direction unleashes an area attack that deals damage equal to 167.3% of ATK plus 9. Releasing before getting hit doubles the damage reduction, energy recharge, and shatter damage, while applying a 0.2x damage reflection to the area attack.
hold: Non-Fortitude Resonance: Tap and hold normal attack to gather magnetic needle nodes on the field and place them in a line towards the target, each node dealing area damage equal to 38% of ATK plus 1 and refreshing their durations. This consumes 1 node.

jump + hold: Tap and hold normal attack while airborne, or use normal attack while climbing, jumping backward, or using the Jetpack to trigger aerial branch attacks, to barrel downwards into the target with a horror beast form, dealing damage equal to 154.5% of ATK plus 8 damage, strongly suspending targets. The higher the altitude when triggering the attack, the greater the damage dealt, up to 600% damage.

==Dodge==
dodge + atk: Tap normal attack during the short period after dodging. Let out a long and narrow projectile in sandworm form which penetrates the target and returns, dealing damage equal to 78.1% of ATK plus 4, and recovers HP and energy weapon charge proportional to total shatter damage dealt from critical hits. Restore up to 1 dodge if the attack shatters a target's shield. If Fortitude Resonance is activated and the Wanderer is invisible before attacking, taunt enemies hit. If Fortitude Resonance is not activated, detonate any magnetic needle nodes touched by the attack as if triggering electrify from fully charging a volt weapon, each node dealing area damage equaling 76% of ATK plus 4 and recovering 15 weapon charge per node detonated.

==Trait==
-Sixth Sense(1.2k): For every 1 second you or your substitute is targeted by an enemy, gain a stack of Adaptation which reduces damage received by 2%, increases resistance for the element last damaged with by 4%, and makes critical hits ignore elemental resistance by 2%, per stack up to 3 stacks. For every 1.5 seconds not targeted, lose 1 stack. Unleashing a skill with Proteus grants 3 stacks of Adaptation.
-Primal Instinct(4k): For every 1 second you or your substitute is targeted by an enemy, gain a stack of Adaptation which reduces damage received by 3%, increases resistance for the element last damaged with by 6%, and makes critical hits ignore elemental resistance by 3%, per stack up to 5 stacks. For every 1.5 seconds not targeted, lose 1 stack. While at 4 or more stacks, become immune to knockback on the ground and double the duration of Predation marks. Unleashing a skill with Proteus grants 5 stacks of Adaptation.

==Matrices==
-2-piece set: Increase Crit Rate by 5/6/7/8% and Crit Damage by 7/8/9/10%. Taunting an enemy reduces its crit resistance by 2/3/4/5 levels for 3 seconds. This Matrix's effects work in the off-hand slot, but only the set with the highest star rating will take effect.
-4-piece set: Increases speed of obtaining weapon charge by 12/13%/14%/15% plus 2% for each magnetic needle node on the field. For every 1% of max HP lost, recover 5 weapon energy charge. In addition, for every 200 weapon charge recovered, deal volt damage equal to 7/8/9/10% ATK to nearby enemies. This Matrix's effects work in the off-hand slot, but only the set with the highest star rating will take effect.

==Character Background==
Log 1: Yuno, formerly known as Subject G2-U No.7, was born into the secret laboratory under Project Ark in the outskirts of Vera. On the surface, Project Ark aimed to conserve wildlife. Underneath, its true aim was to store the DNA of every creature into a human's to elevate humanity into the pinnacle of evolution and true apex of nature while obtaining the scientific freedom to exterminate all threatening species once stored. Comprised of 12 scientists and 36 miscellaneous staff, in secret they gave birth to 18 children to be used as the first generation test subjects. 12 designated G1-O subjects under the Overlay method of fusing animal parts to learn and integrate the DNA directly, and 6 designated G1-U under the Underlay method of injecting various substances such as blood and hormones to restructure the body instinctually as it grows. All G1-O subjects died, 4 of which died of surgical complications, 3 were hostile, and 2 were abducted by their defected parents and subsequently disposed of. 3 G1-U subjects died of poison-like symptoms and 3 survived with no apparent differences other than prominent hair growth and confused neurological behavior. Afterwards, 9 scientists and 28 staff remained, giving birth to the second generation of 16, 4 designated G2-O with significantly reduced fusions and 10 designated G2-U with varying degrees of raised injection levels and antibodies alongside the newly invented complementary equipment designed to wield prominent instinctive behavior in their intended form without physical complications, a fabric resembling a fur coat named Proteus. Proteus utilized magnetic needles attached to areas closest to the nervous system and used a battery to extend the instinct-induced neurological signals sent to the detachable needles to form substitutes for the missing limbs, taking from needle reserves located on the cuffs and collar when necessary. Of the 4 G2-O subjects, 2 couldn't move their fused limbs and were deemed failures, 1 became completely paralyzed and disposed of, and 1 showed remarkable success, becoming the focus of the project in preparation for G3-O. G2-O No.3 had little strength but had enhanced hearing and could pick up objects with his tail. Most of the G2-U subjects, however, showed hostility almost immediately after integrating enough with Proteus to form a weapon as if their minds were taken over by feral instincts and now had a fighting chance against their captors. Of the 10 G2-U's, 7 met their end this way, 2 were defiant but weak and thus kept until the final weeks of generation 2 to provide data for G3-U, and 1 strangely showed no signs of defiance nor reaction from Proteus. This was strange because G2-U No.7 received the strongest DNA injections. Because of his obedience, G2-U No.7 was allowed to work as manual labor while the project focused on G2-O No.3. What they didn't know was it wasn't that G2-U No.7 didn't possess the instincts he was given, it was that the first instinct he awakened to was one that let him foresee his death and adapt to the situation, becoming obedient and feigning weakness as well as internally mastering Proteus during each "failed" test. Eventually, G2-U No.7 developed enough affinity with Proteus to use his own hair and other metals as a substitute for the magnetic needles with or without Proteus, as long as they were connected by electricity. It was nearing the time in which the generation 3 phase of the project begins and G2-U No.7 could foresee the imminent death of generation 2. With each day he planted hidden hairs and metal plates in rooms, and once he had enough, he initiated his escape plan. First required getting G2-O No.3's cooperation. One night, G2-U No.7 tied together numerous strands of hair and with the small amount of electricity afforded to him with a night light he had innocently requested the week prior, he made this long thread travel through the air vents, as if it itself was a sandworm, into G2-O No.3's soundproofed room that he was almost never allowed to leave from, and constrict G2-O No.3's pinky until it dislocated. With this, G2-O No.3 would be taken out of his soundproofed room in the morning and put into the medical bay to treat his injury, and he can establish communication during the day he is tasked to clean the adjacent room. Whispering as to not be heard by security cameras, G2-U No.7 told him of their imminent death once generation 3 is born soon, and if he wants to prevent that, he has to follow through with a plan not yet disclosed. As the discussion is only one-way, agreement was decided on whether he lies to his escort by saying he could hear someone injured in the Proteus testing room as he's being escorted back. Evidently, the agreement was made. Just as G2-U No.7 heared footsteps toward that direction, he once again took out his long thread of hair, but this time he pretended to accidentally bump into the security camera while cleaning it, exposing the wires. With a lethal amount of electricity now, he quickly extended the thread across the room and into the hallway towards the Proteus testing room, reaching the door faster than the escort and connecting to the 2 strands of hidden hair on the sides of the door at neck height. As soon as the escort opened the door and tried walking through but instead came into contact with the thread, all of the siphonable electricity was channeled into it, killing the escort and shutting down the camera system. This was the moment he secretly trained his legs every night for. With the speed augmented by his strong saber-toothed wolf DNA, he rushed across the room, down the hall, and through the door before it closed, dragging the escort's body in with him. With the keycard he now possessed, he quickly unlocked and equipped Proteus just in time before the facility went into lockdown. But now with Proteus which he already mastered and a full battery, he easily ripped open the door with his horror beast claws formed by the magnetic needles. Then once he left the room, he picked up the couple hidden metal plates in the hall, attached them to his arms as shields, then sent out the rest of the magnetic needles to find and detonate with electricity each hidden strand of hair that was placed near lights and communications equipment, providing the cover of darkness for him to slip through the approaching armed guards. He stealthily killed each person nearby as he collected every metal plate to attach to Proteus and complete his defensive armor against the remaining guards and turrets he knew were waiting at the exit. As he finished, he met G2-O No.3. Being the kindhearted pacifist the staff raised him to be so he would obediently offer himself up as research material for generation 3, G2-O No.3 pleaded for him to stop killing everyone. The mind that was more human than monster remained unaware and manipulated into choosing his parents who gave him fake love. But to G2-U No.7 whose mind was only half human, he still saw G2-O No.3 as his only surviving comrade, the only one he could consider a friend despite their only previous conversation being one-sided. If only he could see the fakeness and lies, he could abandon these true monsters, even *if* they are his parents. With little time to talk, G2-U No.7 simply refused and headed to the exit, bluffingly threatening to kill him as well if he tries to stop him. As he turned the corner, he's met with the expected remaining guards and turrets, but suprisingly 2 scientists who didn't flee. They were G2-O No.3's biological parents. What's more, they didn't attack yet, as if they were waiting for something. G2-O No.3 then came into the room and the parents tell him that G2-U No.7 is about to kill them, his loving parents, and that he needs to protect them by killing. This was a desperate attempt at a pincer attack, but it was a useless effort, for they raised their child to be so pacifistic that no suddenly developed instinct could lead him to harm them. This would turn out well, G2-U No.7 thought, as G2-O No.3 would either be too afraid to take action or deal insignificant damage, but the worst case happened that G2-U No.7 couldn't have expected: he instead put himself between them and pleaded for G2-U No.7 to be spared and the fighting to stop. He had chosen not just his human parents but also a murderous half-monster as equals. Could he only see everyone here as redeemable humans? Could he have believed G2-U No.7's words because he couldn't imagine that anybody would lie? Distracted by the shock of seeing what transpired, G2-U No.7 couldn't react in time before the scientists took the first shot, killing G2-O No.3 who was in the way. Enraged at the betrayal of the greatest kindness he had seen in his life, G2-U No.7 lunged at them, indulging in his primal instincts as he ripped them apart in an act of pure predation. With him being the only survivor inside the lab, only he could hear the sorrowful cries he let out as the only person who treated him as a human died before him. This was also the first time he awakened to his gooseneck beast instincts, as it was only then he was allowed to express the feelings of strength in overcoming his enemies and weakness in losing what he desired to protect. If he would ever have something worth protecting again, he would protect it with everything he had without hesitation. G2-U No.7: escaped, age 6. G2-O No.3: deceased, age 6. Project Ark: mysteriously abandoned.

Log 2: As a monster who is a chimera of human, sandworm, saber-toothed wolf, horror beast, shielded beast, and gooseneck beast, the now free G2-U No.7 knew he could survive anywhere but wouldn't belong anywhere. And so, clinging onto the feeling of being treated as a human and the hope that he can meet someone like that again, he snuck onto a cargo ship and into Mirroria, a place where, strangely, his first thought upon arrival was that his friend would've complained how noisy it was. With a lonesome life in the shadows of Mirroria scavenging for food and electricity and running from M-SEC waiting for him, and with the hope of meeting a friend one day, he spent his new life being both the phantom protector of Mirroria and the phantom thief, who not even Captain Saki Fuwa could manage to catch in the end. 4 years pass, G2-U No.7, age 10, finds his life comfortable. Despite not yet finding a friend, being known as both a human-like protector and monster-like thief best suits him. Not even his instinctive foresight could warn him of how his comfortable life would get upturned by another beast in human form. One day in typical fashion, he would steal an unattended piece of food, but this time it wasn't merely a half eaten sandwich, it was a whole pizza! He swiftly snatched it and retreated to the rooftops to eat it in peace, but just as he was about to finish the last piece, a scream could be heard where he had stolen the pizza. It wasn't a fully human scream either--it had an intimidating sense of feral power behind it. Slightly unnerved, he hopped down and wandered off into the back alleys to not get involved. But he could hear footsteps follow him, even though he took secret passages and moved in full stealth that was impossible for humans to hear. It was as if he was being tracked by scent, which should also be impossible for humans. Surprised at how long the chase had gone on, he had forgotten about how much battery was left in Proteus, and when he hit a dead end, it was run dry and he couldn't scale the high wall. The determined creature finally caught up, but what appeared from the shadows was merely a girl with silver hair and 2 dogs. They only appeared small and harmless until he looked into the girl's eyes and for the third time in his life foresaw his imminent death, for he was powerless before her overwhelming power without Proteus nor a nearby power source. His only option was to play dead the moment she hit him. The last thing he remembered before losing consciousness was being yelled and barked at while being incessantly kicked despite playing dead. When he awoke inside a cozy room, the same monstrously intimidating girl stood before him and asked him if anything was broken, where his parents were, and his name. Up until then, he only had one name, the horrid name given by a group of monsters to treat him as an expendable tool, but it was also the only thing he had left to remember his only friend by. So with a tone of certainty and pride in what he is, he responded "Yuno." It was only later that Yuno found out the girl was only forced to care for his wounds by her caretaker so people wouldn't find out she beat up a kid and ruin her fresh public image. But that minor detail didn't matter--he once again felt like he was treated as a human, and if someone like her can belong here out in the open, then so can he. Although quite young, after hearing about his speed and skills, the girl's caretaker found him work at M-SEC and cared for under Saki Fuwa, who simply sighed at the sight of him as if she lost a race. Because he's too young to be publicly employed and his fighting is a bit unorthadox, he continues his role as the phantom protector but this time embracing his monster side where the phantom thief once occupied. Having Proteus repaired from years of neglect, extended to fit his growing body, and upgraded to collect energy mid-combat and to enable the armor plates to camouflage, this marks a turning point in his life. Ironically, with the same instincts he foresaw his death as a monster with, he now foresees his future as one where he is human and full of life. He will live as the kind of redeemable human his first friend saw in him, and he will protect everyone who gave him a chance and accepted him.

==Trivia==
  1. "Project Ark" references Noah's Ark, the vessel used in the biblical event in which pairings of every animal were loaded onto the boat to save them from extinction due to a great flood. Just as the great flood decimated all but the surviving handful of animals, Project Ark sought to eradicate all but the creatures they would store within humans.
  2. Proteus is a prophetic old man in Greek mythology who could shapeshift and knew all things past, present, and future, and would only tell what he knew after being successfully caught. Because he could shapeshift into anything, he became regarded as a symbol of the original matter from which the world was created. Through the use of the equipment Proteus, Yuno could use the knowledge of the past within his library of DNA to construct weapons, complemented by his refined adaptation instinct to analyze the present and perceive his future survival. After being caught by Fenrir, he answered what she wished to know: his name.
  3. "Yuno" as a Japanese word/phrase can be written many ways in kanji and thus have various meanings. For "yu" this includes "friend," "help," "kindness," "connect," and "origin" among other meanings. For "no" this includes "wish/desire," "field," and "wild" among other meanings.
  4. "Ono," which would have been G2-O No.3's name had he survived, as a Japanese word/phrase written in kanji means "small field" but is often confused with "Ōno" meaning "large field." Confined within the small labratory and kept in his soundproof room, he never knew such a large world existed.

2023.04.01 13:56 OlorinDK 6 things to appreciate about Bob Myers

The recent news and rumors about the upcoming changes to the CBA made me think about and appreciate the job that Bob and the FO has done over the years even more, considering how they've built so much of the team on home-grown talent, so I decided to try and make a list of 6 things, one for each finals appearance, that I feel like we should appreciatte Bob for.
The things he (and the rest of the FO) has been able to do with this team is truly amazing and generational. It's obviously not easy to build one of the best teams of all time, that alone should say a lot - 4 rings and all that. And you obviously can never guarantee anything in this game, so luck is going to play a big role. All you can do is try to put yourself in the best possible position to succeed and try to make things play out in your favor. Finally I'll add that of course Bob did not do this all on his own, many people have played a part, but since it was Bobs birthday yesterday and his contract is up, I wanted to center it around him.
1. Drafting - the core and other talent
Obviously drafting Steph (first and foremost), Klay and Dray has to be number 1 on the list. Without them, none of this matters. Continuing on, having so much home grown talent on such a succesful team, is really special in this league, and it's something that helps make this team really easy to root for. Loon, JP, Kuminga, HB, and so many other guys throughout the past decade or so.
2. Hiring Steve
Another obvious choice is hiring Steve. He turned out to be the perfect coach for the greatest shooter of all time, just able and willing to find ways to maximize his unlimited potential.
3. Getting KD
Such a brillant move and the one that helped cement this teams place in the history books, as if the 73-9 season didn't already play its part. I'm sure the team would have been extremely competitive, even without KD, but getting him turned out to have some cascading effects down the road as well.
4. Getting Wiggins (and the pick that became Kuminga)
The strategizing that went into turning KD into Russell and the later to Wiggins is just next level, to me. At the time it wasn't necessarily seen as a guaranteed success. Wiggins came in with a lot of question marks, but he shed those doubts. Wiggins is not KD, but we still got a guy who, according to many, was the second most important player to winning a championship. Plus we got Kuminga too... I'd say that's a pretty good return for a superstar like KD.
So that move for KD basically helped us get another championship, even after he left.
5. Building culture, bonds and organization
Being a GM isn't all about drafting and trading. I don't think you need experience as a GM to realize that. It's a continual job to keep up with the guys, make sure everyone has what the need, making the administration flow, logistics, etc. The Warriors clearly is one of the best run organizations in the entire league and Bob probably deserves a lot of credit for that.
The way that Bob has contributed to the culture and fit with Steve and the core, as well as balancing the relationship with the ownership, I think deserves a lot of credit too. Just the trust he clearly has built with Draymond for instance, probably has been very integral to the teams success.
6. Filling up the roster
The twitterverse, reddit, aso. likes to pick on any questionable decision that the FO makes in terms of roster spots, playing time, etc. but at the end of the day, they have done a great job under the conditions that they were facing. Getting guys like Iggy, Bogut, Shaun, Zaza, OPJ, GP2, JTA, Beli, Dlee, etc. who have been great complements to the core and who have accepted their roles with the team, is another thing that deserves more praise. Javale and Matt Barnes are worthy mentions in this category too.

Concluding
Not all decisions are going to be successful, not all additions are going to pan out, and yes, sometimes we've all wanted the FO to do a bit more, but given the success that this team has had, I think it's pretty hard to be truly critical, and at the end of the day I feel like we need to be extremely appreciative of what an amazing job they've done.
Anyway, play ball and let's go get that 5th ring!

Clearly this is personal and everyone will have their idea based on their interests and personal experience (especially when it comes to the first game which holds a special place)
But I was wondering if you think there is a “proper” or optimal way to explore the different souls/from soft games. Not storywise but other things considered: easter eggs, gameplay, challenge wise. And especially that wow factor and subverted expectations.
For example there are some “wrong” sequences that lower the enjoyment.
Like if you do ds3 first you clearly lose some of the references and fan service to ds1 and it is also harder and faster than the previous ds titles. If you play bb first you will be too strong and fast/dynamic to enjoy the first time you slowly go through undead burg in ds1 and will parry everything. And the whole not having a shield in bb falls flat if you haven’t played with a shield before. If you do sekiro first I think that you lose the confidence that you are a souls veteran who can dodge everything being shattered while you are massacred trying to dodge. Maybe If you do Elden ring before all the dark souls all those possibilities make it so that if you play ds1 or bb after you will feel too constrained (like spell usage for example, also the hub areas in following games for you will be round table holds and you will talk about sites of grace and that is completely WRONG - they are firelink full stop :)
My progression was ds1. Unforgettable. Followed by ds2 (hated the combat and didn’t like the level design, but still like the story and scale of the world more than other ds). then ds3 as a polished final product and version of ds1 (too much fan service though and hated the hub area). Then BB (Which I think is the best of them all and one of the best games of all time). Then when I was all cocky, sekiro which wrecked me until it also finally clicked and I became flawless in everything. Then demon souls and finally Elden ring.
These last two I liked don’t get me wrong but somehow didn’t give me the same wow feelings of something genuinely new. Also they were very easy compared to what I had seen before (except unfair Malenia which I still need to respec my build every time and use arcane/bloodloss to beat).
So I feel that my experience of doing ds1,ds2,ds3,bb,sekiro was perfect, then it may have fallen a bit flat.
So I would argue that one possible “best” way could be 1st: Ds1 to be blown away by level design and feeling of being lost in the huge world. To forever have firelink shrine seared in your brain (which again, is THE hub) and most importantly to fall in love with the genre. 2nd: demons souls to have more of the same and make appreciate ds1 even more, 3rd: ds3 to revisit locations and close the story. 4th: Ds2 to surprise you and depart from the formula and storywise go to the end of these infinite cycles. 5th: Elden ring to have that ds experience on steroids with more opportunities for difference and everything of before put together - the culmination of it all (fp bars, dual wielding, regenerative items, etc) 6th: BB to give you again that feeling of new and the constrained play/few weapons/armoumagic usage etc and the best world and atmosphere (also the chalice dungeons are better than Elden ring dungeons and there are no stray demons reskins so it is an improvement) And finally 7th: when you put hours in these games and have become a rolling dodge master and think that you are a veteran, sekiro to get back to being a noob that needs to learn everything again.

2023.04.01 13:36 Amalgamationofdreams 30 [M4R] Washington/Online - Gaming friends or discord chats or both?

Hey there, like the tile says I’m looking for people to game with or just chat in discord.
A little about me: I’m 30, music is like my favorite thing in the world, gaming is a close second. I listen to just about everything (except country sorry not sorry). I’m particularly into EDM though and am currently learning to produce. I really love anything sci-fi or space related. Currently on the hunt for a new show to binge (just finished Mr Robot). Will 100% send you random music if we have similar tastes because I love sharing music with others. Trying to teach myself how to code. Can turn just about anything into a joke (it’s kind of my coping mechanism). I love consuming knowledge about history. Got out of a LTR recently and used to do everything with my SO so I have virtually no friends here and I work graveyard shifts so it’s hard to meet new people so here I am hoping to meet you? Maybe?
Games I’m currently playing: Tarkov Elden Ring League Classic wow Valheim (mistlands update is poppin) Probably more idk
Shoot me a message if you think we’d hit it off.
