I believe this to be one of the greatest challenges in web design. So many news & media companies produce a metric ton of content and so many have terrible websites where the user is instantly overwhelmed. I can only think of a handful of examples of sites that do an OK job but I know colleagues who disagree with my picks, so I know it's somewhat dependent on how individuals scan and parse information. Yesterday, one of my subs and I “formalized” a set of our contract protocols together.
We’ve been casually working on it for months as we have gotten to know one another better and while seeking lots of advice.
The agreement parameters - while we’ve been “doing them” for months - officially went into effect yesterday afternoon, and we had THE BEST evening out together last night (that ended in the most incredible sex.)
I wasn’t always a firm believer in written contracts. Yes, I’ve seen and understood their value for sure, but lots of conversations and assurance of consent basically guided us before this.
But with this sub in particular, writing it down helped us both so much. Having our dynamic spelled out in black and white felt great. Even the joint effort of writing it together was unifying and produced so much good discussion between us.
I’m really glad we did it.
What does your contract situation look like?

I’ve been watching some of the Netflix reality shows with my wife (The Circle, Love is Blind, Perfect Match, etc.) and just thought about the fact that these people may be getting picked up from an otherwise “ordinary” life, and now are broadcast to millions of viewers. With this, obviously comes a spike in followers on their social media, let alone real life personal encounters. The shows are obviously edited and spliced together to paint a narrative/ viewer engagement, but for some of them, they get portrayed as a villain.
Does anyone know if the producers of these shows coach these people on how to deal with their lives afterwards?

Apology: This is a bit of a long post.

Preface:

I had originally created a concept to remove the mechanical implications of the Biblical origins of Vampires in V5. This involved removing mechanical ties to Generation (using Blood Potency) with your "generation" still being a thing that was thought of and used by many Kindred, particularly Camarilla and the Ventrue, in particular... Noddists and Cainites, basically. It would be a common mythology, but not mechanically reinforced.
As it got rid of the concept of Generation, it also made me think about clans and the clan progenitors and muddying the waters basing weaknesses on disciplines instead of purely on bloodline (which I had seen someone else mention in a post of their own). In this, I still wanted the clans to be backed just well enough that they would be the standard.
The blood potency/generation portion is irrelevant to this specific post, but the clan/discipline thing matters.

Premise:

Clan Banes are determined by your core Disciplines, which are partially dictated by your Sire.
In implementation, my decision on this was that your Core (Clan) Disciplines for each character are the first three Disciplines you acquired. They create the biggest influence on your blood. The first two are given at Embrace by your Sire and the third is simply the next one you gain (frequently, though not necessarily, through Predator type). Most Sires teach their Childer either directly or indirectly their three core "Clan" Disciplines, so this isn't seen frequently in the Camarilla or is easily dismissed.
Since your "Clan" doesn't directly determine your Core Disciplines, your weakness is also not determined by your "Clan," but by those Disciplines. So for the first few weeks, you may not show a weakness (similar to lore that shows that Nosferatu slowly and painfully become ugly after embrace), but shortly afterwards, you will manifest one. The Bane is based on your Core Disciplines, being the most common Banes among your Disciplines, favoring higher level Disciplines over lower level Disciplines. (So Animalism would potentially carry any Bane in the blood that is associated with a Clan that has it listed as a Clan Discipline... Nosferatu, Gangrel, Ravnos, and Tzimisce, for example.)
Now, Lore-wise, this means that many Kindred are labeled as "Caitiff" because they exhibit a different weakness than their Sire. When that Ventrue doesn't have a refined pallet, but has a permanent mental breakdown instead because they got Auspex early on, the "Noble" Ventrue may cast his Childe off as a failure, branding them "Clanless." For clans like Gangrel, their upbringing is frequently in the wild, so which ever Discipline out of Animalism, Fortitude, and Protean that they miss from direct blood is going to be extremely advantageous to them as they are being raised from fledgling to neonate. The world they naturally hunt in or gravitate to because of their Sire informs their likely Predator Style and their Discipline selection.
This gives just enough play room that it reinforces clan disciplines as per the normal WoD, but also allows a wide variety of variance. (I also have a caveat that if a non-Core Discipline hits 5 before a Core Discipline, your lowest Core Discipline drops off of your Core Discipline list and the new level 5 replaces it.
Which brings me to where the PG comes in:

How best could I implement the new alternate clan weaknesses within the World of Darkness so both can be present, but I'm unsure if I want them to overlap or make separate distinctions for which weakness manifests. I could base it mostly on which one your Sire had of the two possible, but for those that end up different from their Sire, that doesn't resolve the issue.
Does anyone have ideas on a cool and reasonable approach to use all 28 Clan Banes within this conceptual system?

Hi! I think I have an interesting niche I want to explore. The video is a little bit more "inside baseball" on how to use some of the new AI tools by doing fun and interesting things.
I've been using these tools on another channel to post youtube shorts, but this is my first attempt at making the video more personal, making it not a short, and building a real story over the course of the video.
I think I've got the basics, but I spent way to long editing without having a script yesterday and I'm getting a little exhausted by this one concept.
So I was wondering if anyone has a good workflow or has a resource they can show me to point at a good workflow for actually producing a video? The reason I ask is because I unfortunately have an insane schedule and if I can avoid "wasting" so much time next time that would be splendid.

I’m running a campaign at the moment and have asked my players for some cool magic items they’d like to see, or ideas for things they’d be excited about. Most of these ideas have gone into random loot standard magic items with quirky downsides scattered throughout the campaign. Like a bag of holding that can only store stolen goods and produces a joke tag/false receipt when an item is removed from the bag.
One of the players who’s least likely to try to break something they get ahold of thought a flaming halberd would be cool and hasn’t really taken any of the items so far preferring to let everyone else get their hands on stuff first. Because of this I was hoping to make the item more interesting than your standard item with some downsides such that it would be a decision to use it in a fight or not.
This is what I came up with: • A halberd that has +1 to hit and damage, and that heats up as the battle goes on and it cuts into foes. This heat creates a ramping d6 fire damage (1d6 fire damage on the first hit, 2d6 fire damage on the second, and so forth) to a creature hit with an attack made with the weapon. The wielder also suffers the damage from the effect at one die less than they deal (ie: 1d6 damage taken on the second hit, 2d6 on the third). The fire damage from these effects ignores fire resistance. If the wielder fails to hit a creature with any attacks over the course of two turns then the halberd cools down and the effect resets to zero. I also wrote a bit for the spirit inhabiting the weapon and it’s personality.
I’m mostly asking if you guys think the damage the player suffers from wielding the weapon will eat up party healing and resources such that it will be a decision to use it and not be broken. I thought about tuning the damage down but my thought process is that if it’s less damage than it’s not really threatening to the player to go overboard and it’ll just be free damage with a minor drawback. As is I think it’s a choice as to weather they think the damage will overcome the drawback in specific fights (a few big enemies or lots of little enemies, long fights or short scraps). Just want to here others thoughts on this. The group is closing on level 5 and will be at least 7 before getting their hands on this and the campaign will probably go to 9.

While there is too many albums from Simon & Garfunkel on this list, such over-representation allows to follow the journey of this band perfecting itself. They polish themselves step by step with every release and get to their particular zenith with this one. Perfectly crafted pop songs elegantly produced.
As unchallenging as I might find them, this is just pure beauty, also, after listening to the bloated entries by Rod Stewart and Goldie I most recognize the incredible editor abilities of them, as there is no unnecessary filling the songs are so well balanced and last for what they should last. This is one of those entries that really can't be challenged either if it your thing or not.

We were searching for something like FastAPI for Kafka-based service we were developing, but couldn’t find anything similar. So we shamelessly made one by reusing beloved paradigms from FastAPI and we shamelessly named it FastKafka. The point was to set the expectations right - you get pretty much what you would expect: function decorators for consumers and producers with type hints specifying Pydantic classes for JSON encoding/decoding, automatic message routing to Kafka brokers and documentation generation.
