So I work in the film industry, and with all the strikes and all, I’m currently in between projects. I’m not really great at dealing with too much free time, since I’m sort of a work-a-holic, but I’m hoping I can meet someone nice here to chat with.
So a bit about me. I moved to SoCal about a year ago so I’m still getting used to it here and work as a production coordinator. I’m a bit introverted, however I love trying new things and meeting people whenever my social battery allows it haha.

This guy, we dated on and off a few months He showed toxic behaviour It ended. 3 months later I got an apology text and he wanted to meet up for‘friendship’ I was hesitant but met for coffee and a walk 2 months of ‘friendship’ and no physical contact except for parting hug on occasion. But then I said I understand dating. I said you go on a date and if it goes well then another etc So then I said ok I’ll date only you. I’m busy as a nurse anyway and no time for dating and he was leaving in 2 weeks, so ok I’ll give it ANOTHER go. Then we cuddle on the bed and of course sex First time in 4 plus months. Mid way he says “ is this a yes” well we had already agreed Then I’m going to be on night shifts a couple of nights We agree I will text him when I wake up from my shifts and we agree to go out of town together for a couple of nights and he also wants me to get leave for a couple of days to fly to another town for another couple of nights before he leaves the country. So ok we say bye with this plan I texted him at work saying good night the next night and he replied But then I texted him the next day and no reply and he’s blocked me. He will now be in another country in his new job and life. This was 2 weeks ago now and I’m over him except I just don’t understand his behaviour I know him and I know he will unblock and message me eventually as this happened several times in the initial dating time September to January More fool me. I’m an idiotic fool that I trusted him but he was convincing and said he’d thought about it a lot for 4 months of no contact and 2 months of friendship I think I wanted to trust him cos of good banter and intelligent conversation But that is clearly not enough if he lacks empathy and respect Also after sex he decided to tell me he is 5 years younger than I had believed for over 7 months So a liar also. A week ago a good friend died and it gave me perspective My (male) friend was kind honest and compassionate but had health problems. Sick but sudden unexpected death and I cried the entire funeral of course. So just tell me your opinion, is this person who said he liked everything about me etc it seems just to have sex one last time, just completely f Ed up? And manipulative? I have tried Satee, Gado Gado, Rendang in the past and I love it but never locally. I'm wondering if these can be found in the menu of every local restaurant or how should I search for these type of Restaurants?
Anyways, I'd appreciate a diversity of different restaurants to try while I'm there and not end up eating similar dishes in different restaurants.

Hey guys, has anybody else gained weight in remission?
I think I’m finally in remission after 2 years of constant symptoms and rectal bleeding. I still don’t have a proper diagnosis so I’m not sure if it’s crohns or colitis.
As soon as I left a stressful work environment my symptoms seemed to diminish almost instantly. I’ve also made slight dietary changes (I’ve been vegan for 8 years and I’ve slowly started incorporating dairy and chicken into my diet very occasionally) I’m not consuming any more calories than I do regularly. If anything I started a new job where I’m a lot busier and more active (I’m a barber) and I’ve been going on more walks than regular. I’m 5”8 female and My weight 4 weeks ago was around 135 lbs and now I’m at around 147lbs. I know this is not overweight or anything for my height but my birthday is coming up in just over a week and I’m feeling very uncomfortable in my own skin. When I first started my new job I started getting dry itchy rashes on my hand mainly around my knuckles and I’m not sure if that’s related at all.
Has anybody else experienced any of this too? I’m not sure what to do and I’m freaking out. Thinking about phoning my GI tomorrow but is it stupid to waste his time if I’m in remission?

Let’s start with the floor plan; I sketched a few furniture pieces on there just as a fit check. I’m moving into a new place and moving out of a familial living situation where I’m taking furniture with me but have… significant holes in my set. I have three incredible couches (see here: https://imgur.com/a/kKXxGRj/ ) the dark leather one is going on the office space where you’ll also see I marked off space for my desk and (white) 4x4 kallax full of books. The lighter leather ones are a three and 2 seat pair; I’m also taking that gorgeous marble end table between them and - not pictured because it’s in storage, a big 5 ft triangular coffee table made of the same stone.

Can’t repaint, but could probably get in there to do peel and stick wallpaper or something before the move if it would make a dramatic difference.
Things I need help with:
I need a rug that will tie that living room together with the horrible landlord beige wall paint. I also need a few other rugs for other rooms. I have no idea how to pick rugs.
Living room also needs a good TV cabinet/sideboard of some sort, but i think I have a pretty good eye for my taste for that stuff and if I can figure out the rest of the room, I figure I’ll know what I want for that.
I need a dining room table and chairs. More importantly, I need help figuring out where to best put said dining table and chairs, and then what to do with the rest of the mostly open foyeend of the living room space that I have kind of opened up there. I think I probably want to set up a little bar station/coffee station outside of the kitchen at a minimum, because the kitchen is tiny and lacks power outlets for my coffee stuff.
I need more storage in the bedroom because it doesn’t have a closet. Is a wardrobe the right call here? If so, are the various IKEA closet units any good? I like the organization/modularity options on a lot of them, but haven’t really shopped that piece elsewhere.
I’m also curious if my bedroom can be rearranged from that current setup to something more functional when adding a closet of some sort. The placement on my sketch is p arbitrary.
I don’t move into this new space for a few weeks, so nothing is down yet and I have time to get this plan right.
My own furniture tastes tend vaguely towards MCM, but not exclusively so. I like natural wood tones and matte color palettes. In terms of art that will be hanging, I have a smattering of inherited Japanese woodblock stuff, some colorful cartoony paintings done by a relative, and probably need a few more pieces. I’m largely starting over here though so I am interested in letting my other choices set the decor tone to some extent.

I (29f) have been on many dates, like MANY. I've only had 1 serious bf, was horrible, and 2 that just didn't work out, but we are still friends. I have a timeline for kids, yes I know I can freeze my eggs, and I've been considering it, but I'm just so tired of dating. I, 24 f, work at a Starbucks in IL, Chicago. I’ve been telling my store manager for months since I got rehired that we should have floor mats because it wears on your feet and back. Not to mention the anti slip component. Every time I bring it up she says she got rid of the old mats because they were filthy and it’s so much to keep them clean. I (22F) am a successful engaged woman with a six figure job. My twin sister (22F) "Melissa" meanwhile is a single mom to two crouchty crouch goblins "Taiylnn" and "Br'klyn" (not actual names but are similar; both are 4F). The father of her children was a homeless drug addict who disappeared while hiking in the woods long before they where born.
Melissa has always been the golden child. I don't know why, but it was that way for my entire childhood. At a parent-teacher conference wherein my teacher tried to tell them I was a genius, they only wanted to talk about my sister's progress. When I was competing at the national spelling bee, my parents were talking Melissa to Disney World for not failing third grade. I was featured in the local paper for saving a baby that had fallen down a well and my parents called to complain Melissa wasn't mentioned (she was at a friend's underage house party at the time). For our sweet sixteen, only Melissa's name was on the cake and she received a Maserati. I got a roll of toilet paper.
My sister flunked out of high school and got preggers while I attended an Ivy League school on a full scholarship and graduated top of my class. I gave a speech at my graduation about how great my parents were that had the entire audience give me a ten minute standing ovation. But my parents weren't even there because they were babysitting my sister's spawn while she got laid by a potential sugar daddy (didn't work out, of course).

Recently I purchased a large house for my fiance "Bill" (22m, also makes six figures) and I to live in. When Melissa found out, she immediately begged for a room for her and her kids at my place. I do have plenty of rooms I haven't decided what to do with yet, but I told her no. Taiylnn and Br'klyn are autistic and will only eat foie gras (one time she tried haggis and they cried for a whole week), and I know she'll start bugging me to contribute to their food fund if I let her live here. Also my sister is super fat so she eats a lot as well.
My mom found out and begged to let her stay, at least in my pool house or bowling alley. I calmly said no, it was Melissa's fault for totaling the Maserati and leaving her and my parents homeless due to medical bills (she drunkenly crashed into a school bus teetering on a cliff), and it was their fault for giving her the car in the first place.
Bill thinks I should reconsider because currently my sister lives in a cave and fears her children will be eaten by wolves. He also suggested I should consider letting my parents live with us as well, though they are perfectly happy to live life scavenging on the beach and sleeping in abandoned beach houses.

I never really put two and two together, but for some background, I drink 1-2 cups a day. Sometimes I skip a day over the weekend as I’m gone and never really buy coffee when I’m away. Only from my coffee setup.
I have an expensive coffee setup and I buy speciality beans online. I drink black coffee and learned to really love the taste. It’s a ritual for me, but I poop like crazy. 2-3 times within an hour or two after drinking coffee. Sometimes diarrhea too. Sometimes even more than that, which is crazy to even say right now as I’m typing.

A few weeks back I ended up in the hospital with low potassium despite eating a lot of potassium and drinking electrolytes which contain a lot of potassium. I’ve been getting severe anxiety and panic attacks recently.

Oh man, I never thought I’d say this but I think I need to quit coffee/caffeine. The stomach issues, shaky tingly feelings, panic and anxiety. I’d rather not deal with that stuff.
The sad thing about it all though is I love coffee, and I love the ritual of making it. I use scales and precise measurements. I’ve invested hundreds into coffee equipment. It would be sad to let it go. I guess if maybe I got into decaf coffee, or caffeine free tea then I could still use some of it.
