Out of shock and morbid curiosity I checked his history to see if this was a one off thing that he just looked at, but found that the his history is filled with it for several days. I saw that the day he drove out with my parents (9 hour drive) he had been going through the sub reddit.
I confronted him about it after hours of driving back home and pretending that I hadn't seen it cause I didn't want the ride to be awkward nor give him the opportunity to come up with some bs excuse. I feel as if that is the type of women he is very attracted to sexually, then we should no longer be together. He was immediately on the defense, told me he was looking for an old friend who use to post so that he can talk shit about her with his buddies( because that's what guys do), that I should've never looked through my phone- this is on me, and that he is a grown man who can watch porn if he wants to because it's not my place to control what he does. But the thing is he doesn't know I saw he was on for multiple days, and he swears it was just one day. My mom got a German shepherd (probably a mix) puppy which as of writing this is 4 months old. She’s pretty big and still acts like a puppy (which is understandable). Since I live with my mom and she works weekends I have to watch the dog on weekends (I hate that I have to and I’d rather have the dog with her at work due to my lack of energy after my Physically draining job plus the dog hates me). She has been trained a little bit and listens to my mom, she’s an Angel but only for my mom and strangers. I’ve had to break up multiple fights today because god forbid my brothers elderly beagle mix wants food. She’ll also eat EVERYTHING: cat toys, furniture, the wall, shoes, hair that she rips off my cats and me, you name it she most likely ate it but it’s not like she doesn’t have food, she just likes inedible things instead. She loves to grab my cats by the neck, back, or head and shake them like toys. Her favorite “game” is to find the perfect time to bite me, jump on me (not in a cute playful way, more like the “I hope snapped your neck” way), and/or rip out my hair. I have many many MANY marks all over me due to how much this dog hates me. I keep telling my mom that I can’t deal with it anymore and the dog’s behavior issues gets pinned back on me because I have “a shrill voice that sounds like a squeak toy”, or because I scream every time the dog hurts me (I’m pretty sure that’s a normal response to teeth sinking into your flesh) , or I’m just “mean” because I pin her just enough to prevent an ER or emergency vet visit and put her outside to protect myself and the other animals. My mom even told me to take her on a walk to calm her down and give her a calming treat (I have in the past and it led to me nearly busting my head on concrete because she wanted to wrap the leash my legs and bolt and still the dog acts like a mfing psychopath regardless of whatever I do.) I do play with her, so idk where her energy is coming from (I’d like to know so I can barrow some myself, no dog needs the energy to attempt to fight god or become one) She’s close to 11Ibs, comes up to my chest when standing on her hind legs(I’m 5ft 4in), she’s not a small dog and it legitimately scares me knowing she’s not even close to being done growing. I’ve never dealt with a dog with this bad of an attitude and behavior before (saying something cuz I grew up with dogs and had to deal with my fair share of brats, but this is above and BEYOND brattiness. Borderline Cujo type of shit without rabies) I’m currently writing this as I’m breaking down in the bathroom because I had to pry her off my cat, the other dog, and pry shards of a cat toy she decided to destroy out of her mouth (it was plastic), chase her twice in a short span of time. I can’t deal with it anymore and idk what to do. What am I supposed to do? Do I just accept defeat and curl up on the floor? Should I admit to a mental hospital because I’m “crazy” for getting this upset over a dog? What is the proper etiquette when it comes to having a dog latch on your face/scalp? (because apparently screaming and crying while trying to get her to let go isn’t it.) Should I try bite training so she’s not quick to biting? How do you stop food aggression? How do you deal with Hannibal-pupper? I’m being serious, also sorry for the huge essay/rant on this.

I currently use a 2020 Intel base model 13-inch Macbook Pro and I find that it often heats up very quickly when I work. It gets uncomfortable to touch and it starts lagging after a bit. The fans are also super loud. The applications I keep open are Slack, Safari, Spotify, and occasionally some other apps (but even those first 3 can heat up my laptop)
For context, I work as a Software Developer for one of the research groups at my University. Since this is only a 4-month position, I go back to school in September so I assume it won't heat up as much as it is now.
So I was wondering, is it worth upgrading to a 14-inch M2 base model MBP? Or should I toughen it out for the rest of my internship and wait for newer models to come out?

2023.05.29 03:54 Ragnellrok Played FF6 for the first time, my thoughts on it.
Okay, so, FF6PR was one of the handful of FFs I've not beaten, nor do I know how they end that are currently out as of typing this (late may 2023 if you're in the future and FF16 came out).
The other's where I don't know how they "end" are: Tactics and Tactics Advance, I guess I technically don't know how FF3's final areas conclude... as in, I know the big stuff because FF14, but I don't know the post-final fight stuff, um, oh and 11 and since I play 14, I don't plan on playing it, especially after my friend showed me exactly how old school it is and I just went "and that's why I don't play it... everything you said, went in one ear and out the other and I was trying to understand it!" I guess I don't know how FFCC ends, but I have a GCN with it, so I could find out at some point.
Anyway, point is, as you might notice, I either beat or know how they end on the other games. Like, more than the average fan... and actually I just beat FFV last week or so before today and beating FFVI. Now, I'm just gonna say, I love good sprite work, game was beautiful, I had a 4-man squad that was too overleveled and, aside from 2 dying between me selecting my actions and not being able to arise, I nearly 1-party'd the final boss, as in just 4 people *almost* beat Kefka, I was too high level at 80, but, that's namely from grinding all my espers out and yeah, just yeah, steamrolled the whole tower with them, I just had 2 people get hit and they died and then I moved stages which meant I couldn't rez them with Arise sadly... oh well.
Anyway, this is probably in the top 5, like coming from a person who plays tons of games and have played many FFs... this is almost assuredly in my top 5, and yeah "bad takes for top 5" but 2+DoS on GBA is in there alongside FF8, which I played before 7, which is probably up there too, just there order in which I played the games, lengths of times that I did that, etc. I just identify with Squall more, especially at the time, being capable but socially awkward, being afraid of not being good enough (yeah, I have military experience, so weirdly, I can identify him on that level too, but before then it was friends, saying something stupid, trying to "not care" and stuff, like FF8 speaks to me on many levels, FF2, well, mostly to do with DoS add-on, dunno if I'd like it as much, but the fact that you get better at anything is by casting the spell more, using certain weapon types more, etc, etc, etc, if you want someone to be better at something, you literally used that thing and you'd naturally just get better over time, yeah, it just made intuitive sense, even if it wasn't really ever seen again...
But this is about FF6 and I can see why people said "play 6 or Tactics next" when I asked for suggestions on my previous post... namely because I was trying to decide between the games I haven't beaten or haven't beaten in a VERY long time (FF4 DS, I beat FF4 GBA, but never finished DS, so was considering it as an option), but 6 was a very good call, the game does a great job of conveying the importance of the cause, my main gripe is Terra being optional in pt 2... she's the freaking outline of the game logo, her at the beginning of the game, and they, for some reason, despite her being important in WoB, come WoR it's a "meh, bring her or don't" and like, everyone who isn't her, Gerad or the world's biggest gambler, they're all flipping optional! I get that it's cool, but at the same time, kinda feels like something Terra of all the others should also be mandatory for, with a side of Locke and Sabin for, hopefully, obvious reasons.
Anyway, had a fine time, game was good, and yeah, I feel it improved on FF4, my closest point of comparison as, well, FF5 is more closely related to FF3 and Bravely Default series than other games tbh... so, I feel it improved on FF4, another game I hold in high esteem though I really feel like Terra shoulda been a mandatory character considering her WoB importance, and that's my main casting gripe. I guess like after Mog feels weird, Gogo, Umaro, like they just feel like secret characters that exist for the sake of having secret characters, not, actually good characters that are hidden... I mean, to me, both Gau and Relm feel more relevant than Gogo or Umaro, and Mog feels borderline weird, but still okay, as yeah, also a bit hidden, but also helps Locke and Terra at the beginning of the game and helps tell the story after Ultros... so he feels like he belongs slightly more.
Now, please understand, I am not saying Gau/Relm/Mog or anyone else is superior to Gogo or Umaro, I just, I feel Mog makes more sense than Gogo, and I mean, being the boss of Umaro... I feel is odd for Mog, but hey, I'm just giving my feelings on the matter, NOT, in terms of facts in this case. Like once I got them I found myself wondering "why did I bother?" and subsequently answered myself with "because, all characters. You obsess over stuff like this. Stop asking dumb questions." And quite frankly I'm right, it is why I got everyone and ended up only needing "6" (the 2 replacements got KO'd near-immediately, turns out repeated 9999 Ultima off 1MP and constant 9999 1MP Curaga tends to stop you from dying off 8k HP, dunno why. /s
All in all, I enjoyed it thanks to those of you who suggested I try it, I think I'll go and play 9 before I learn how it ends (like I know about Kuja because Dissidia 012, but much like FF12, no real idea of the end of the game, just that Kuja is a villain *shrug*) from somewhere else... then 16 will likely be near to releasing or released once I finish it. Oh and yes, I'm aware of Excalibur 2, I'm not going for Excalibur 2 on my first run... for, hopefully, obvious reasons.

I mean, to me, both Gau and Relm feel more relevant than Gogo or Umaro, and Mog feels borderline weird, but still okay, as yeah, also a bit hidden, but also helps Locke and Terra at the beginning of the game and helps tell the story after Ultros... so he feels like he belongs slightly more.
Now, please understand, I am not saying Gau/Relm/Mog or anyone else is superior to Gogo or Umaro, I just, I feel Mog makes more sense than Gogo, and I mean, being the boss of Umaro... I feel is odd for Mog, but hey, I'm just giving my feelings on the matter, NOT, in terms of facts in this case. Like once I got them I found myself wondering "why did I bother?" and subsequently answered myself with "because, all characters. You obsess over stuff like this. Stop asking dumb questions." And quite frankly I'm right, it is why I got everyone and ended up only needing "6" (the 2 replacements got KO'd near-immediately, turns out repeated 9999 Ultima off 1MP and constant 9999 1MP Curaga tends to stop you from dying off 8k HP, dunno why. /s
All in all, I enjoyed it thanks to those of you who suggested I try it, I think I'll go and play 9 before I learn how it ends (like I know about Kuja because Dissidia 012, but much like FF12, no real idea of the end of the game, just that Kuja is a villain *shrug*) from somewhere else... then 16 will likely be near to releasing or released once I finish it. Oh and yes, I'm aware of Excalibur 2, I'm not going for Excalibur 2 on my first run... for, hopefully, obvious reasons.

I'm a 30 (F) and my husband 31 (M), we recently married 9 months ago but 6 weeks into our marriage everything went to hell.
Context: We met 7 years ago, both fairly young and immature, but we had chemistry. That said, back then my partner acted like quite the playboy and did a lot of disrespectful things on nights out that really undervalued his commitment to me (e.g., allowing other women to touch him, general vulgarity, etc.). His behavior didn’t change despite me trying to discuss our differences, and explicitly noting how his drunk blackouts left me feeling awful. Separately, he also had a pretty close female friend, who he called about 1-2x a week quite late at night to chat unbeknownst to me, before we moved in together (to this day, he swears they were just friends, but this was a secretive, sustained closeness, that I deem emotional infidelity).
Nonetheless, all this behavior constantly left me wondering if I had made a mistake about my ex, who did not treat me this way at all and showed me the utmost respect. So, 10 months into dating my now husband, I met my ex back in his hometown as closure, but sparks rekindled and we ended up hooking up. I never pursued my ex after this event, and cut ties. I 100% know this was wrong and am not trying to shift blame, but because it was so heinous, I never told anyone, not a soul, just kept it to myself, swallowed the guilt, and never again strayed, not once.
Current Situation: Despite the bumpy start, we still loved each other enough to ultimately marry. But my now husband always had curiosity about what happened on the trip where I indeed met my ex, and I never fully admitted to it until 6 weeks into our marriage after he came across a very old text exchange between me and a friend noting the incident (I had lent him my old phone, while his was getting repaired). The result was catastrophic, and sent my husband on a 3-week rampage whereby his only communication with me was via low-key threats, disparaging names, and absolutely zero affection. He even slept in a separate room and contacted my ex's current partner via LinkedIn to get his full side of the story.
As crazy and toxic as it all is, I understand that my husband's actions were motivated by deep hurt, and that he wouldn't feel this bad if he didn't really love me. But, I’ve apologized, expressed my side of the story as to what fueled my actions, and have kept forging ahead – trying to be as thoughtful and supportive as possible for the past 8 months. Whereas, my husband treats me like his roommate, the only things we chat about are work and our parents; he won't bring up any topics that have to deal with us moving forward (e.g., kids, house, even a simple vacation); he hasn't kissed me since October (8 months ago) and certainly won't initiate sex (he says he's too depressed and therefore, has no sex drive, but he masturbates on occasion, and two months ago I caught him on a website for female "escorts", likely thinking about some sort of vengeance I guess). So yep, we're basically living in an emotionless, frozen tundra where I feel extremely unwanted despite me trying so hard to move forward. We've tried couples therapy, but my husband quit after 8 sessions because he didn't find it useful in validating my recollection of the incident 6 years ago versus what my ex's partner told him! It's like he's permanently stuck living in the past.
Complicating matters even more, I moved from the US to Europe for my husband, where we’ve been living for the past 2 years and where he has a full support network and I have none. While I know this current sitaution is largely my fault and I genuinely feel terrible, I can’t allow myself to also get stuck in the cycle of past hurts; I want to start a family and feel as though I’m wasting precious time. I'm geniunely torn between abandoning my husband that I do sincerly love, and being married to someone who freezes me out and holds a past mistake over my head forever.
I get that this is a serious violation of trust but I cannot understand why he lacks the conviction to make a decision to move forward - whether that's with or without me. Why is he wasting his own time? Part of me is upset that he can't just let bygones be bygones and accept responsibility for his own actions, and look to forgive.

I have been on the hunt for some new riding shoes. I have Giro Rangers (velcro) now and are happier with these cheapo shoes than anything I’ve tried so far in stores. I’ve came across some discounts so without being able to try them on I tried Shimano RX600 and the Adidas gravel shoes (not bad at all, actually like the built in sock thing, but the toe area feels like a black garbage bag… unprotected and I’ve rammed too many rocks and sticks to tolerate that).
I plan to return them for one common reason: the toe box is vertically loose (too vertically spacious). I only road on the stationary briefly with the RX6 and the velcro strap is effectively useless and doesn’t hold when tightened as much as I need it, which makes no sense to me. Why is that even there?!
I’m trying US size 10 and 10.5 (which is my shoe size range on every show I’ve ever come across) and 10 is the current size of my Giros, which fit and perform great given their price (but they are accidentally deep in a storage unit right now… moving). Probably will try an upgraded Giro model next but was hoping to avoid their high cost given the cash flow is fucked right now. My feet aren’t narrow or wide, not weirdly thin, no paper flat toes…. just normal footsies. 😂
FINALLY to the question, who makes “gravel shoes” that have more of a road bike shoe fit at the toe box? Or am I off-base and “gravel shoes” are supposed to be like this? I can’t stand it because they feel loose when back/up stroking, which I often lightly do to help be (at least for me) more efficient on slight uphills, etc.

You know what this game needs? Singing. The Imperium is a fascist theocracy, they absolutely have standard battle hymns (probably named stuff like, "War Hymn sigma alpha027" because administratum gotta administratum). I'm not suggesting anything fancy like our rejects going full SATB, however lovely that might be...but I think you could some really nice moments of the rejects throwing themselves into a mob of heretics while belting out lines from an Imperial hymn. What I do know, her children are filthy and smell, have the same clothes on for days, are all unsocialized and 2 of the oldest display autistic traits. My sister recently told me the mom ignores their needs for attention/food requests/help with homework. Finally, the mother lays in bed when not working and they feed themselves junk or go to bed hungry. Their house and rooms are absolutely disgusting and beds have no sheets. It all started 3 years ago not long after getting plat on spiderman, and after getting the ultimate mode trophy for the hardest difficulty, and also beating ghost of tsushima in lethal+ I was feeling quite big headed.
And being a gamer for just about 20 years and beat a hell of alot of games and bosses all shapes, sizes and by now honed my skill a little bit
So one day even though I tried dark souls many years ago and failed miserably might i add, I decided to try what I hear to be one of the hardest games around...Sekiro.
Well I get pretty good (or so I think) and just took down genichiro after a few days of owning my skills.
So I start thinking to myself how with abit of grinding its not that bad and just like any other game you could probably overpower and win the game by default without much effort......and wow was I wrong.
Now I've come to him....Guardian ape.
After a horrendous fight of being clumsy and having major issues with the poop throwing I make the decision I need items, so antidotes and gourds at the ready I start to learn his attacks a little and after 2 days I finally take him down and praise the Lord and finally run to the door with real joy..... why is it still fog?
The music changes I shit my pants and die swiftly to terror, almost in real life too.
I throw everything in the book at this guy, I use sugars I use divine confetti, I get the mortal blade. I even go out my way (not proud of this) watching videos on how to cheese him, day after day for about 3 months I watched I battled I watched I battled but to no avail.
I was stuck like I've never been before 3 months of pain suffering and finally he broke me.
I gave up.
But! I vowed I will come back to sekiro one day and take him down with a vengeance as he shook me worse than I've ever been, I lost all my motivation and questioned my skill as a veteran gamer.
A year or 2 later elden ring was about to come out and I thought okay let's try souls games again and see what I can do. Not long after starting the builds and weapons just started to click and the game actually became a breeze when I got used to it.
I got plat on ER and was so proud and thought okay I will platinum all souls games and sekiro will be last because of my arch nemesis...guardian ape.
I hone my skills and like the stubborn SoB I am, in order I platinum ER, BB, DS1, DS2 and DS3. All with dlcs included and 2 days ago come back to Sekiro.
So after beating some of the most well named bosses around like Orphan of Kos, Nameless King, Ornstein and Smough, Artorias and Fume Knight i felt I was finally ready.
I was so much more skilled and relaxed this time around, once I got used to the mechanics again I started slowly chipping away at him and after 6 hours total he finally went down.
The nightmare was finally over after 3 years of trauma and questioning my skill I got him and cannot tell you how good it feels!
I finished the fight with 0 gourds, 0 pellets and from the start of the fight because I was sick of farming 0 spirit emblems.
So to anyone out there who is struggling with the game and feels they cannot do it, my message to you is keep trying your better than you think.
