2023.06.05 06:28 llcountry Are there any unvaccinated social groups in Alberta!?
Looking for a social group/networking group for like-minds, dating, etc. in Alberta. Please reach out and we can find an existing group or work on creating one within our area. Even if it means forming individual friendships one at a time I am all for it. .......... Message Me!!
I am guessing you are feeling extremely isolated due to your stand-up and mature value of valuing the privacy of medical information and not crossing that boundary with others. That's probably just the tip of the iceberg. Many of us are still silently stuck in a state of shock over what has happened in our lives and the totalitarianism/discrimination that we've experienced for something that is an absolutely reasonable choice. The majority of society isn't smart enough to have a say in the medical information of others. The ones who are smart enough are blinded by their own conflict of interest or the hive-minded mentality experienced in connecting with their institutional peers in combination with the instinct to appeal to a majority authority. At the end of the day you, are the only one who should make that informed medical choice for yourself.
“People will do anything for those who encourage their dreams, justify their failures, allay their fears, confirm their suspicions, and help them throw rocks at their enemies.” - Blair Warren
.... No throwing rocks... but you get my point...
We need to connect and help each other out. If you think the way you do - you're more important than you think...
All the best

2023.06.05 06:21 Cool-Arugula-6790 [us] questions about custody
Mamas, I seriously need advice. This is going to be long, but I would appreciate any help! So my son is about to be 8. His dad and I separated when he was 2, but we didn't get formally divorced until March. He had no custody of my son from Jan 2018 - March 2023. He never went for custody, visited sporadically. Well when we got a divorce in March he wanted custody. To avoid a court case bc I already blew my whole savings on the pretrial lawyer fees we agreed in mediation. I agreed to every other weekend and 50/50 legal custody with me having the tie breaker. It's only been going on for 3 months, and we have already had so many issues. The order states that he cannot take him to his house because it's unsafe. So he takes him out on day trips and brings him home at 7. But he's taken him to his home almost every weekend he has him without even asking me until they've already been there if at all. I've told him not to take him there, he did it again yesterday. But the main issue I'm having happened today.
My son was diagnosed with ADHD on Friday. His doctor said that he has severe hyperactive ADHD and needs to take medication. This has been a long long time coming. He's too hyperactive in school and gets in trouble a lot. I never thought I would give my son's meds, but he truly does need them. He's upset that he gets in trouble all day and it's effecting his mental health over things he cannot control.
Well he went for his visit today and when he got home he said that his dad's girlfriend told him that he DOES NOT have ADHD. He said she was saying it "every other sentence" his words were daddy will say "babe where's my phone?" And she would give it to him and then bring up the fact that he does not have ADHD again and again. She also told him that he should not take his medicine because it will "make him sick".
His dad was one of the people pushing me to get him diagnosed! This morning when we were alone I thought we had a great Convo about all of this and I thought he was finally agreeing to the meds. Well tonight I call him to talk about what his girlfriend said (this isn't the first time she's said inappropriate things to my son) and he starts saying things like "well we're not gonna assume he has it until I talk to the doctor" ... I told you that he was DIAGNOSED, why would I lie about that? They're so paranoid and act like everything EVERYONE says to them is a lie until they have "proof" and then they gaslight you until you don't know what's true. They do this to my son.
Before we even went to the doc he said he wanted to take him "for a second opinion on his own time"... But he didn't even come to the first appt when I gave him 5 days notice. He didn't answer the phone when the doc called while we were there. And he never contacted me after the appt to ask what happened. We didn't have a conversation about it until days later, he saw me for hours on Saturday at my son's baseball game and didn't say a word to me. Today I finally asked to speak with him about it myself.
The reason that he did not come to the appt is because his girlfriend does not allow him to be alone with me. Not even to pick our son up, she has to come. He can barely video chat my son without her listening in, he's hooked up his messenger app to add her to the group chat. He can't attend school activities unless she can get off of work too, and I guess he can't even attend one of his son's most important appts without her there. He's told me that she will not allow him to be alone with me. She also monitors all of our text messages (his phone is hooked up to her phone), so if he needs to talk to me about something she doesn't need to hear he will call me. My son picks up on all of this and asks why she always has to be there. He hasn't been alone with his dad for more than 5 mins in almost 5 years. He's asked me to ask his dad for alone time, which I've done countless times but he never does it.
They've been together for almost 5 years, have a child together. We have been separated for 5+ years, have never ever hooked up or even flirted once bc he's a psycho. I have never even sent a flirty text, NOTHING. I have my own partner or 5 years and we have a child together as well, and can finally get married now that the divorce is finalized. There's nothing warranting this behavior, other than her jealousy, insecurities and paranoia. She takes all of this out on my son.
Is there anything I can do to keep her away from my son? Or do I have to go back to court and fight for full custody? Do you think I will get it? I don't want a person who is telling my son that he doesn't have the disability he has, making him come home upset and confused, around my son. I don't want someone who's talking my son out of taking a medication he's not even prescribed yet around my son. I don't want someone who's undermining all of the work we have put in to tell my son it's ok that he has ADHD and that doesn't mean anything is "wrong" or "bad". I have never said ANYTHING negative about her or his father to my kid no matter how hard it gets. She tries to prevent any healthy co-parenting relationship that we try to have. When I am just speaking to him, things seem fine and we agree on a lot of things. As soon as she's there, she opposes my opinion, makes me ex "pick her side" and then it ends in argument, disgruntled relationships and ultimately harms my son.
Every weekend he has something new that upset him that she does. She constantly talks crap about me to him, and he gets REALLY upset about that. Hes only been with them for 6 weekends in the last 5 years. He's been with me EVERYDAY.
She's also a DAYCARE WORKER, and I feel bad for any disabled kids that she works with if she speaks this way about disability and medication. I just don't know what to do. This is all so damaging to my son's mental health and he has enough going on rn, I need to protect him.
If you have any advice, or just if you think this is as WRONG as I do, please let me know. Am I tripping??

2023.06.05 06:18 DudeNeedsToTalkRN What is going on in Senegal in 2023? Explained in details #FreeSenegal
Skip to the Last part for 2023 specifics reading everything would really enlighten you tho.
Location and Alliances - Senegal is located in West Africa bordering Guinea, Mali, Mauritania, Bissau Guinea and Gambia. Senegal is also part of ECOWAS ( Economic Community of West African States) and AU (African Union). ECOWAS has an economic centric objective and AU is justice and development of Africa focused.
- Every single one of the nations that border Senegal has had a military coup in its history except Senegal. Every attempt in Senegal failed and Senegal was regarded until today as a model of democracy.
French Control / Neocolonialism Senegal was a well ruled country despite its politics being mainly ruled by France from the shadow, France hold the reserve of CFA Francs currency and print it for 15 countries. 15 sovereign nations are entirely dependent on France's currency. France also control most of their seaports and has priority in every new market offering with mandatory acceptance for these nations. Despite its many resources Senegal is a very poor country it has gold, zircon, lots of sea territory for fishing, clay and many more industry needed resources and forestry that I can adequately explain. France also has military bases in most of these countries until recently they've been kicked out by Burkina and Mali. Recently lots of Gas and Oil sources have been found in Senegal and that could change the lives of millions of Senegalese citizen (keep that in mind as you read)
Abdoulaye Wade, Macky Sall, Dirty Politics and Spiraling Debt
- Macky Sall is the 4TH president of Senegal, elected in 2012. Before him It was Abdoulaye Wade who was president since the year 2000. It's mainly under Abdoulaye Wade that the country started changing landscape major road construction, more and more building and a decade long plan to move the airport to a less cramped space thus giving us the AIBD Airport replacing LSS airport. A new agriculture program GOANA and many more projects.
- But it's also under Wade that nepotism got higher in his government were new ministry official position created for his "friends" in ridiculous position. A government in which Macky Sall took part and eventually became prime minister.
- With the rising nepotism the first embezzlement campaign started with ministers and deputies having safes filled with billions of cfa. For context back in 2007 a billion wasn't an imaginable number it had just became mainstream. It first rise with their own son stealing from them, then their sons and daughters traveling all over the word as new millionaires. For context their parents were poor prior to being in the government. Then arrest for drug usages, luxury car crashes. In a blink of an eye rose a new wave of billionaires and families that were above the law. Coincidentally the economic crisis of 2007 made the population even poorer in comparison.
- Politics mixing with religious figures, violence at political rallies and the birth of "nervis" basically political henchmen paid to beat opponents or whoever stand in their way and the police ignored them since they were being paid by people that were very high in the political ladder (ministers, friends of the president etc....)
3rd Mandate, Abdoulaye Wade vs The People (Macky Sall and Youssou Ndour incl.)
- In 2011, at the end of his 2nd mandate Abdoulaye Wade pushed for a new legislation that would make him able to push for a 3rd mandate and have his good-for-nothing son as vice-president a novelty that the people didn't welcome at all. His former Prime Minister Macky Sall and a lot of opposition political parties and social justice movements, and rappers and Youssou NDOUR (famous singer) banding together and protesting initially peacefully and gradually throwing rocks at the FDS (Forces of Security, police and Constables)
Link Archive Protest Youtube:
https://youtu.be/i224i8CTB64 Link Archive Macky Sall Coallition :
https://youtu.be/P_wigR7JFYY - Macky Sall was appointed leader of the movement, and toured Senegal to present his ideas. Despite his opposition to Wade he never suffered persecution or attacks by police forces or any other charges by the justice system. However Dirty Politics was Macky Sall never physically suffered and had his constitutional rights respected. [Remember This it's relevant in 2023]
- Occasionally he would be pelted with pebbles by some people that were against his ideas but never by the police or any other FDS.
- Ultimately Abdoulaye Wade would give up and lose the election and leave graciously without anything in fact the police forces allowed the protesters to walk freely up to the gates of the Palais Presidentiel.
Hopes, Justice, Regrets and Embezzlement of Funds
- In Macky Sall, Senegalese people had high hopes, not so charismatic a leader he had a humble upbringing which inspired hope. He had worked under the previous govt and had extensive knowledge of the populations suffering, the poverty and nepotism.
- He would go on to track the people that embezzled funds under Wade's presidency : La traque aux biens mal-acquis which recovered 200 Billions of CFA Francs (305 millions euros) in 2012 according to Macky Sall's prime minister of the time Aminata Toure
Dynasty Faye-Sall, War of Gains and Scandalous Deals (Petro Tim Oil & Gas)
Then slowely but crescendo new names started popping in the government, branded as the FAYE-SALL dynasty : Macky Sall, his wife Marieme Faye and the in laws Aliou Sall and Mansour Faye.
- A war of opportunities between Aliou Sall, brother of Macky Sall and Marieme Faye, the first lady.
- Petro Tim $10 Billion Scandal Sunu 400,000
- Aliou Sall would make the news for signing scandalous deals mainly the Petro-Tim Scandal for embezzling 10 billion dollars (from here on out we will be talking in dollars because the amounts are ridiculously high). He would be accused of corruption, fraud, embezzlement, money laundering and criminal association. A report by BBC and Africa Eye states that Alious Sall had also been by Petro Tim through a fictive company that he owned.
- In a statement**, Ousmane Sonko called the senegalese youth to demostrate against these scandals until appropriate measures are taken**. Another revelation of the report was the takeover of Franck Timis' group's stake in 2017 by British Company BP. Timis Corp is a firm run by Romanian-Australian tycoon Frank Timis. According to the BBC report BP had agreed to pay Timis $10 billion in royalty payments for its stake in the two blocks. Senegal's offshore oil and gas reserve have the potentiak to transform the country when they begin flowing in the next decade with volumes expected to rival some of the region's biggest producer.
- A campaign started online in which every citizen claim they are entitled to at least 400,000 CFA ($653 usd) from each of the payment that Aliou Sall received with the catchphrase << sunu 400,000>>
- Despite all of that, the judge would squash the procedure rather quickly, it helps to have your brother as president.
- Mansour Faye, The Arrogant Baron (SDE - SEN'EAU / COVID 19 Funds)
- Mansour Faye has a reputation of being a vindictive and arrogant public figure. He will first be remembered for signing a contract for water distribution through SEN'EAU with french company Group Suez killing in the process local company Sénégalaise Des Eaux (SDE) a company that oversaw the water distribution for decades.
- Mansour FAYE is also mentioned in the Cour des Comptes report regarding the misuse and embezzlement of the Covid 19 relief funds. The covid 19 relief funds was of 1000 billion CFA FRANC (over $1.6 billion USD)
- Mansour Faye's daughter studied in the US and came back portrayed as a model for the youth with her ranch and agribusiness which is an insult to the senegalese citizen who can't even afford school fees in some part their own country let alone own land and get a degree in the US. A nepobaby fed with nepotrustfunds and nepoland to build her nepomoney paid business. She said : << you shouldn't be afraid of failure>> easy to say with billions in the bank.
See here the BBC documentary that angered the Senegalese citizens:
https://youtu.be/1TAN6PsxKAc - Mansour Faye will also have some of the harshest comment when several fatal car crash happened in early 2023 in which 63 people died in 8 days. In light of the lack of regulation, the state of the roads and the laissez-aller in the transportation industry, many asked for his resignation in which he would coldly reply : << To the people expecting my resignation, they will need more stamina>>
See video here:
https://youtu.be/eS8UV8EtykQ - Which only proves their lack of empathy towards the citizens they are supposed to serve. One thing that is very common with the entire dynasty Faye-Sall is the disdain, and hatred toward the suffering and needs of the senegalese citizens.
- When people asked in 2021 for better roads and that the tollgate highway was expensive. President Macky Sall replied that: <<It is what is. If you want to drive on fancy road with no plot holes you pay and you use the tollgate highway. But we have an alternative which is the RN1 (National Road)>>
see video here:
https://youtu.be/r4DHowh8KLo - And I can't think of the countless lawsuits for defamation against anybody that tried to expose their true natures. Mansour Faye is very fond of lawsuits and has had a few in his arrogance and power he seems out of touch with reality.
- Whenever addressing the nation he would do it in a patronizing and arrogant way, so much so some people do not listen and would just read the ministry's tweets.
The others (Moustapha Niasse, Youssou Ndour, Mame Mbaye Niang...) - As mentionned earlier Youssou Ndour was part of the coalition and protesting alongside Macky Sall against the 3rd mandate of Abdoulaye Wade. Youssou Ndour was in fact a candidate for the election but his candidacy was invalidated because his taxes. Youssou Ndour was not a law abiding tax paying citizens according to reports of that era.
- Taxes that he never proved having paid, he would later join Macky Sall's government as Minister-Adviser. Yet another nepo-position in which he will bask in even more riches and allegedly not paying his taxes.
- The most notable thing about him is how loud his silence is regarding every protest against the current regime, in 2021 and 2023.
- You can see him in this video actively protesting in 2011 along with the M23 movement: https://youtu.be/H0hZhNKLUXg
- Moustapha Niasse, the political dinosaur born in 1939 he has been invested in politics as early as 1970 and has been part of every government since. Nothing notable about him beside him clinging to a hope of becoming president he has always been at side of the regime even when the regime is unjust and flat-out wrong. Nothing to say beside good riddance in September 2022 his term as President of Congress ended. He will be remembered for turning the Congress into a shitshow where legislation from Macky Sall passed as will.
- Mame Mbaye Niang the good-for-nothing turned billionaire he was a protestor in 2011 you can see him here protesting at the gate of congress (the coward in brown shirt and jeans who fled when the cop came close) : https://youtu.be/nklxXTZF_no
- A report by the IGF (General Inspection of Finances) revealed how funds have been embezzled once again by a small group of political figure in which we count Mame Mbaye Niang (then minister of Youth, Employment and Infrastructure) and his close friend Ibrahima Cisse; The funds amount to over $800,000 USD (517,864,401 CFA Francs) for the PRODAC project which earned him the nickname Mbaye Prodac. A project that should have created 180 000 jobs provided only 1500 between 2014 and 2018. Coincidentally Mame Mbaye Niang became a billionaire in the same period.
- Ousmane Sonko would go on to make that report public by accusing Mame Mbaye Niang of stealing from the State and the citizen. A deficit of 178,500 jobs from the PRODAC project is beyond criminal knowing that Unemployement Rate of the active population in 2018 was of 14,3% according to the National Statistics Agency (ANSD)
The Claws of France gripping harder
- Between 2012 and 2023, the arrival of French companies surged to a new high with Auchan and Carrefour competing directly with local businesses at lower prices due to allegedly lesser taxes, SEN'EAU killing SDE for water distribution.
- Major civil engineering projects being given to french companies such as Eiffage. In fact EIFFAGE, ALSTOM, SYSTRA and SNCF together built the TER (Train Express Regional) an airport rail link of only 36km for the first part already built for the price of over $1 billion USD (656 billions CFA) a project the government is really proud of.
- The project is putting Senegal in even greater debt since Senegal only funded the project with 142.5 billion cfa and 3 loans from La Banque Islamique de Développement (196 billion CFA), l'Agence Française de développement et le trésor français (196.5 billion CFA) and la Banque Africaine de Développement (120 billion CFA)
Harder Living Conditions
- With inflation, soaring prices of virtually everything such as housing, house essentials, food, transportation and gas...
- Under equipped school with huts as classrooms in some remote region of Senegal Abris Provisoire au Sénégal
- The NGO workers are gentrifying Dakar these people who are supposed to work socially on topics of poverty, are the one actually escaping poverty they are in Dakar partying spending lots of money in places raising significantly the cost of leaving.
- Under equipped hospitals with aging/failing equipment as in Kedougo where a small outpost with barely nothing it's not covid 19 that kills people rarther illnesses that can easily be cured in bigger cities such as malaria, transport of patients is also a huge challenge with patient being transported to bigger hospitals 200 or 300km away with no ambulance rather horse-drawn carts. The same problem in several regions of Senegal. In contrast, the political figures leaving the country every now and then to get medical treatment in France or the US. A symbol of their own failure in building anything important in this country.
The Rise of Ousmane Sonko
- Ousmane Sonko is a former Chief Tax Inspector in Senegal and advocate for reformation of the Senegalese Tax System. He was fired from his position as Chief Tax Inspector for being a whistleblower in many cases of fund embezzlement of High Profile Politicians (Aliou Sall, Mame Mbaye Niang...)
- He would go on to engage in politics and became the youngest candidate to run in 2019 at 44 years old. He rose to fame in politics among the youth due to his credentials as chief tax officer and the overall ethic in his work as mentioned by many of his former colleagues. A man who turned down bribes from the biggest companies in the countries and focused on his duty. The narrative is beautiful and confirmed itself as years passed and people learned more about him. He finished 3rd in 2019 as a newbie in politics.
- An even bigger achievement when you learn about the vote manipulation in the 2019 elections as exposed in Story Killers with the employment of Team Jorge a disinformation for hire company. Ousmane Sonko was victim of gigantic smear campaign with fake documents and false claims.
- See the documentary titled : #StoryKillers: A deep dive into 'Team Jorge', the disinformation mercenaries operating worldwide
- With Ousmane Sonko rising to be the candidates of the youth (over Half of the senegalese population) several attempt at destroying his reputation took place, he would be labeled a liar until the LGE, IGF and BBC report are published.
- Ousmane Sonko became Congressman made fierce speeches in which he called out the disrespect towards Senegalese citizens by which the congress dealt with important matters. Congress was a place of chit-chat and arguments where the political affiliation was the only thing that mattered to any of the parties involved and occasionally throwing hands (fighting)
- He also authored a book called Solutions in which he advances many ideas to push this country forward, economically and socially with an emphasis on education, economy, health and employment.
- Mame Mbaye Niang would accuse him of defamation in the PRODAC case;
- He also exposed the excessive cost of the TER Project.
Macky Sall's 3rd Mandate, Sonko-Adji Sarr, 2021 Protests
- Macky Sall' 3rd Mandate
- Macky Sall is ineligible to a 3rd successive term as stated in the Article 27 of the constitution of Senegal "Nul ne peut faire plus de 2 mandat consécutifs"
- Macky Sall served a 1st term of 7 years from 2012 to 2019 but in 2016 a referendum took place in which the presidential term would go down from 7 to 5 years. Taking effect after his first term in case he get re-elected.
- Having nearly served his 2nd Term 2019 - 2024 (we are in 2023) he eluded a 3rd term trying to loophole his way into a 3rd term using the Article 27 claiming that it's his first mandate of 5 years. Which is wrong the Article 27 existed way before the 2016 referendum and it is explicitly states that no-one can do 2 more than 2 successive term.
- Curfew and Police Brutality
- In 2020 mask mandate is effective and a curfew is established, which made life very difficult for workers who had to commute. The police officers used extreme violence to enforce it. Beating people who were out at curfew with sticks making them crawl on the floor. While the population suffered inside, the rich politicians and their family hosted private parties outside
- When the first Vaccines arrived in Senegal, the first Lady Marieme Faye hosted a private vaccination party at her residence with no respect of masks or crowd control this angered people
- That was the last straw people started burning tires and protesting for the removal of this stupid curfew which they are the only one to suffer from
- Additional context: In Senegal a lot of houses don't cook dinner they buy porridge to local (diaykatou fondé/thiéré/thiakri) that sell at night from 8pm to 12pm. These cheap porridge is what feed lots of people in poor neighbourhood a bowl filled with nourishing food for 100 to 200f cfa. Some houses are overcrowded with over 20 individuals in a 2 story building during summer these people stay outside with their friends and relatives there is a sense of community and togetherness. They only leave for bedtime. The houses cramped and it gets really hot in the summer (up to 35° c / 95°F)
- Sonko-Adji Sarr
- In 2020, during the Covid 19 pandemic, Ousmane Sonko is accused at first of Rape with Threats at gunpoint by a worker at a massaging place he is a customer of. He says it's a conspiracy to make him ineligible for the 2024 elections in which Macky Sall want to be part of.
- Then discrepancies started growing, the medical examination disproved any trace of sexual violence, the officer (Captain Touré) to which the complaint was filed smelled a political conspiracy and fled. Adji Sarr the alleged victim is first believed by a portion of the population but as she goes from reporter to reporter saying different things here and there the growing sentiment of empathy turned to disdain because to many she was definitely lying.
- The case would be ongoing for 2 years 2020 to 2023 and Sonko would be proven non guilty on the counts of Rape and Death Threats since no proof or witness were presented. Everybody that went on to speak would disprove in a way or another the claims of Adji Sarr. The medical official, the officer and her coworkers, boss and his husband. BUT despite all of this Ousmane Sonko is sentenced to 2 years of prison for "corruption of youth".
- Throughout the case, Ousmane Sonko has been held at home by the police not letting him go out, he was kidnapped twice by the police while he was touring the country and forcefully taken home and every supporter of Ousmane Sonko has been labelled a terrorist or an MFDC member.( A very dangerous claim that could turn this conflict into an ethnic war. The southern people are remarquable people and the stigma of separatism they are labeled with could be very dangerous.)
- Protest erupted in march 2021 which beyond Sonko's mistreatment was a protest for everything that is wrong in the country like the Gilets Jaune in France. The police started shooting live rounds, one victim in particular Cheikh Wade is shot in the while he waved his senegalese flag by a police officer in Parcelles Assainies (Dakar) the 2 day protest would make 14 victims, 14 civilians killed.
- Mansour Faye would go on to declare that "Occult forces" are responsible of the 14 dead civilians.
Amnesty International Article :
https://www.amnesty.org/en/latest/news/2022/03/senegal-one-year-after-march-2021-families-demand-justice 2023 Protests
After sentencing Ousmane Sonko to 2 years of prison, he is at first kidnapped while he travelled back home from Ziguinchor occasionally touring the country ,held at home and the people are out protesting to end this masquerade, for Macky Sall to either leave Sonko alone and finish his 2nd term or to leave the country altogether.
There's already 600 political prisoners before the protest.
The police shot live rounds, beat up and runned over several people.
And a new type of tear cas that can blow your limbs.
The people are fighting for a better future. Macky Sall doesn't care about Senegalese people. Senegalese so desperate for a better future that many died at sea on shipwrecks trying to reach europe on rafts or canoes.
In 2019, 210 senegalese people died in the mediteranée trying to reach europe because there's nothing left of hope of a better future in thish country, in novembre 2020, 414 senegalese people died at sea trying to ge to europe according to IOM
The 2023 protest showed an escalation of violence from the police, the constables and the 'nervis' these paid militias that have gone increasingly violent with machetes and semi automatic rifles and handguns. Fighting along side the police they have killed 28 people officially many were shot.
The Freedom to tour the country that Macky Sall was offered by Abdoulaye Wade is what Macky Sall is denying Ousmane Sonko.
The 3rd mandate that Macky Sall thought for is what he is denying us all.
Abdoulaye Wade never asked for the police to shoot at civilians, under his presidency killing in broad daylight wasn't a thing, he may have been a bad tyrant but Macky Sall infinitely a hating arrogant good for nothing that is acclaimed as Political Genius a lapdog if anything.
A warzone atmosphere against unarmed civilians.
The government issued an order for the internet to be cut off
Everybody is using vpns to keep the outside informed. Today, June 4th the mobile data were cut off only wifi network worked in order to keep protesters at home.
A terrible rumour that spent chills down my spine earlier today a senegalese citizen called on live tv saying he saw DEAD BODIES IN REFRIGERATED TRUCKSS BEING THROWN AT SEA near the Diamalaye Beach. The senegalese citizens are enquiring about it. Some people have confirmed through text but I am yet to believe it until photo or video proof is shown. We are talking about mass execution I will not believe it until I see proof of it.
This a very long and tedious thing to write and I'm doing it because I am afraid the Senegalese people will be cut off from the world and die in the dark.
The sound of an entire nations going silent is something I have witnessed once and I hope I never do.
ECOWAS took a neutral stance may the wrath of God be upon them.
For once in my lifetime I wish for Military Coup if it means the killers will be stopped. Please save the longest lasting WEST African democracy.
Please Spread the word under #FreeSenegal. A senegalese fearing for his freedom.

2023.06.05 05:48 satiricalquip Hello. Does anyone want to hear my X files fanfic idea? I just be high and pondering aliens. It’s not the whole story just a lengthy idea. If not that’s cool it’s a lot of words man.
Fun x files fanfic idea: The typical depiction of aliens that we know with the big head and big black oblong eyes 👽 are just us from the future because of millions/billions of years of evolution. The massive big eyes are from evolution because now we all use screens so much and use our eyes until they ache and dry out that they eventually we evolved to be big ol wet hardly blinking eyes. Hands loose digits and end up being three long creepy fingers because we don’t use our hands as much and don’t need detailed digits because telepathy evolves to be a real thing hence that big ol head for big ol brains. The grey skin could be from adapting to lack of vitamin D or whatever because it’s dark there cuz the sun don’t hit anymore idk.
So aliens are not aliens they’re us evolved billions of years in the future, okay cool right. So Mulder be searching for aliens his whole life like he do and he starts to learn conspiracy theories about how lots of people are starting to believe aliens are just us from the future. Maybe the one of the lone gunmen guys finds super compelling proof of it and tries to tell Mulder but he’s in denial but it’s becoming a community on Reddit and a movement in conspiracy groups. Many people are on board to believe aliens are just future us based on sightings or some shit maybe. But Mulder eventual meets with the aliens and it’s kind like huge for him like meeting god and he’s happy but then he’s angry because he feels his wholes life’s work was bullshit because they tell him that since aliens is us we really be alone in this universe and their science found the end of the universe so it’s a big ol box or something like we’re just gods fucked up terrarium blah blah I won’t get into that.
So we’re the only planet with human/human esque life or any life at all. Like maybe there was many rad liveable planets that we eventually found that were ripe with life but some human bullshit happened and everyone is gone and we’re the last remaining life on the planet. Idk. That seems like it hits more because I think that is totally plausible in reality. But all that makes Mulder spiral into this fuck everything depression like my whole life I’ve just been searching for alien life and it’s just us kinda thing (or he is sad it’s all gone idk) and he’s like “its nothing Scully! this is nothing and we’re it!” So that really don’t hit for him but after a while Mulder gets his shit together and stops drinking or whatever he be doing because of sadness and he realizes he can try to work with the aliens to help the future and help other dead planets idk.
But all that being said he starts to think covid or some covid like panini was done by the future aliens now to try to kill some of our worlds worst people or kill masses because their future population is insane and they gotta cull masses because everyone is starving (them long gray skinny bodies bro, they ain’t got no nutritions) and he has to deal with the ethical dilemma that helping future us could hurt innocent people now and that whole back and forth and he is down for the death because he is like this is the only “us” in the universe and we gotta save future us but Scully is like as a medical professional this is unethical I won’t stand for it we can’t let it happen and that whole back and forth. But like maybe a shitty alien that has to save his future kid or some shit leaks the virus out anyways or commits some wild atrocity in history for the same reason. And like some missed assassinations can be blamed on aliens with bad sir or some shit, and like any attempted on on sHitlers life in the past were future aliens that really fucked up.
But it’s a super creative idea to think that alien sightings are just future humans because we learned time travel.
Thanks for reading ✌🏻 (edited for some typos)

2023.06.05 05:45 IntegralofDankdx hello fellow redditors, please help me encapsulate my soul into a personality type!
How old are you? What's your gender? Give us a general description of yourself.
17, almost 18 (I know I also ask myself why im on reddit, corrupting my brain from such a young age), female.
Hello all. I'd say I'm kind of aloof, but competitive. I hate uncomfortable clothing, and honestly its a drag to get me to go outside. But if it's some game or sport, I'm absolutely down. I think one of the best human feelings is feeling the fresh air conditioner wind against your body as you destroy your 6 foot friend in badminton with your superior strategy and reflexes. In all seriousness, I'm heading into college to study mechanical engineering and actually thinking of using a ton of my AP credits to get out of classes and replace them with bio and chem classes to head to medical school after. Not that I am dissatisfied with engineering, in fact, my reasoning behind these seemingly weird plans is to get the full fundamental background of the engineering and doctor world. I feel anxious about my survival without it, if that makes any sense. I wasn't kidding about liking games and being competitive, I have been doing fencing for almost half my life, and I plan to continue fencing on a national level in college. But apart from that hobby which requires you to step foot outside the house, I genuinely have a hard time getting myself to touch grass. In fact, this weekend was an achievement when I touched grass 3 whole days in a row. Not joking. People noticed I got tanner lmao. Some people think I'm pretty quiet, while others feel im pretty obnoxious. This can be accredited to my ever changing energy levels and lack of filter and need to stfu sometimes. Though sometimes, I really do get quiet. I've grappled with trying to figure out whether my first function is introverted or extroverted, but honestly I end up gaslighting myself each time so it doesn't work. As for general hobbies, im a YouTube gremlin, a mathy science-y kinda kid, trying to get into chess more (im basically an average intermediate rn and by fear of being destroyed by an anonymous person across the world online really makes this process difficult), unfortunately watch anime, and secretly an art kid.
This is a tangent but I dont know maybe it will help diagnose my personality lmao, I feel that math and science is 10x more enjoyable when you learn the history of HOW the things come about. Like last week, I was kind of fed up with the notion of imagining Newton creating all of calculus on his own to help with his physics stuff, so I went looking into it and learned a lot about how the concept of infinity and infinitesimally small numbers was around even in the Greeks era, and that a LOT of foundation had already been made (not discrediting Newton btw, he was a beast its just kind of annoying that the history of how thought came to be isn't taught... how are we supposed to create new ideas when we're instilled with the easy path of memorization)
Also also, I feel that the "STEM FIELD" is being treated as a totally different entity from linguistics and philosophy, and that also kind of makes me feel robbed of the education people COULD receive. I think there's a lot to be said about how the skills from art and literature do in fact transfer creatively to the "strict" fields of mathematics.
Is there a medical diagnosis that may impact your mental stability somehow?
Nope, just me and my brain.
Describe your upbringing. Did it have any kind of religious or structured influence? How did you respond to it?
Parents aren't really religious at all though my mom claims she internally religious but doesn't really need to prove it externally, it's pretty chill. In that sense, my upbringing has had little to no influence from religion and was fairly unstructured. My parents gave me WAYYY more freedom than most kids, and I'm extremely thankful for it. This freedom is what has allowed me to test my limits of self control, my own self discipline, and has taught me much. Yes, freedom can backfire on some kids, but honestly as a kid most of my internet interests were genuinely educational, and with of course the load of Minecraft videos to binge watch. Honestly I feel im worse off now, where YouTube is becoming glorified tik Tok and I feel my brain rotting.
As for my actual upbringing in school, it wasn't the smoothest of rides. I don't know what it was, but it seemed that even since kindergarten, genders were split in friend groups, or friend groups split by races, even if it was unconscious. I was a kid who just wanted to run around and have fun, so it made sense that I would want to be with "the boys" LMAO, but its kind of impossible to insert yourself into such a group, especially when my social skills were absolute nil. Maybe it was because English was technically my second language, or maybe I just cognitively was slow, but I would miss directions in class, and overall got in trouble a little bit and was never a model student.
Something changed in middle school. With the shift to grades and my brain deciding to work, I became a good student and had some friends, but was still bullied on my bus constantly. I didn't care though, I just wanted to be friends with them, so I tried to not be left out and obviously it didn't work out. You know how kids figure out at one point that they can think about their own thoughts, and that the world doesn't revolve around them? Well, the former came to me really easily because I'd talk to myself in the backyard a ton. But the latter wasn't so simple. My family was supportive and made me feel intelligent and bright, but at school, I felt terribly insecure of my intelligence, my physique, my humor, my everything. So I studied the "cool" people, the "funny" people. I wanted to figure out what it took to be funny and to receive that validation from teachers and peers. I wanted to see how I could act smart and get people to notice me for being intelligent. Mix those feelings of envy and desperation with someone naturally competitive and a little arrogant, you get a pretty insecure little penguin.
Now as a senior in high school, retrospectively, I see that college isn't everything, that intelligences come in all sorts and shapes and honestly everyone is like a video game character with different perks and attributes. I learned that hard work is honestly probably one of the most over powered skills in the game of life, and best of all, I regained a lot of lost self worth, which allows me to actually empathize with people and engage with society in a more fulfilling manner. I say what I think and feel, even as a people pleaser, I just turn off that filter because why not, I can't really change that part of me. But I've definitely learned when to back off, how people want to be comforted, and what it means to actually care for others. Not that I didn't care before, I just couldn't see it and wouldn't acknowledge it because then in my mind I would have been weak.
If you had to spend an entire weekend by yourself, how would you feel? Would you feel lonely or refreshed?
Ngl, this is most weekends, and I'm totally fine with it. I don't like going out because of the chore it takes to put on clothes and look all presentable and then deal with the humidity of the outside world. HOWEVER, I'm not going to lie, I do really enjoy going out with friends sometimes and it does make my week when I do. I feel most refreshed when I've gotten some social time done, but also some productive things done: like finishing that month overdue paper, and actually learning something for personal benefit.
What kinds of activities do you prefer? Do you like, and are you good at sports? Do you enjoy any other outdoor or indoor activities?
I really like windy weather, or like an air conditioned gym. I'm quite good at sports and attune pretty quickly to most. As I mentioned before, I'm a competitive fencer but I'm pretty good at ping pong, badminton, volleyball. Used to do track and was a 100m sprinter (was pretty spankin good) but then it got boring because there wasn't much of a GAME aspect to the sport. and also bad asthma lol.
How curious are you? Do you have more ideas then you can execute? What are your curiosities about? What are your ideas about - is it environmental or conceptual, and can you please elaborate?
People say I think of crazy ideas, but honestly one of my fears is that I'm not thinking of ENOUGH ideas. Whenever someone else needs an idea, poof, I got one. But for myself? My brain sabotages me.
I strongly like dealing with the conceptual. Conceptual things are just so much cooler and easier to deal with and generally speaking, more revolutionary and groundbreaking.
My ideas can range from dumb comic ideas about a brain being like a dog to strange tangents on how people's lives are interconnected, or how before we're born we can decide our life difficulty level, just weird things to think about to make excuses for any predicament XD
Would you enjoy taking on a leadership position? Do you think you would be good at it? What would your leadership style be?
It's awful honestly, I seem to dream of being in charge, but I'm god awful at it. I cannot for the love of god snake people out of money, or charisma people into believing a product works when it doesn't, or tell someone that they aren't working hard enough (pains me more honestly), it just doesn't work. My leadership only works in a controlled environment where everyone WANTS to get somewhere, but honestly, I think as a brain I'm better as someone on the sidelines thinking up funny things that might work.
Are you artistic? If yes, describe your art? If you are not particular artistic but can appreciate art please likewise describe what forums of art you enjoy. Please explain your answer.
My dad collects paintings, had a large exposure to art as a child. I draw pretty freakishly well for someone that doesn't practice much. I tend to draw on anything in the corner, but big pieces? Nah, not unless I have to make some gift or project. Used to be into animation, still am very into ink art, etching, anything black and white. But I love looking at sculptures and oils, honestly I'm never gonna make a good sculpture, im incapable, but its heckin' awesome when other people can.
What's your opinion about the past, present, and future? How do you deal with them?
I get too nostalgic, but I look back and look forward to get rid of the present so there's that. The future brings me some anxiety, so to ease it I'll write basic things I need to accomplish somewhat soon in my notes app to ease the black hole of the future. But nostalgia, man, it kills me. Worst part is when you can't tell if what you're remembering even happened. You gaslight yourself into a situation you can't even confirm. And then there's the issue of figuring out if you supposed to feel the way you feel when you look back on things, it a whole mess. Lately I've been looking forward mostly and consciously filtering out the things I look back on to achieve more happiness.
How do you act when others request your help to do something (anything)? If you would decide to help them, why would you do so?
love helping people. you need my homework? I gotchu. I don't know, I like acquaintances. I have no qualms about helping somebody out, I know I wish people would help me out when I asked. I hate the whole "you got to be friends first" kind of deal, we're all human aint we?
Do you control others, even if indirectly? How and why do you do that?
Nope. I need control of my life first lol
How good are you at strategizing? Do you easily break up projects into manageable tasks? Or do you have a tendency to wing projects and improvise as you go?
I break things down enough to where I can wing things. I'm a major procrastinator, but I get things done and I make sure they're done well. Very perfectionistic and self critical about anything I make, even if it's just for school.
What are your fears? What makes you uncomfortable? What do you hate? Why?
I've realized lately, my greatest fear is hating life and feeling unhappy. I absolute hate the feeling of not wanting to exist or losing self worth, its worse than any external loss. Of course though, I fear losing my family as well. As to hating things, I don't hate people. It's strange, but I keep on forgiving people far too easily. It's just that in every situation, there are always two sides, and I ALWAYS give them the benefit of the doubt. Because for me to do anything, I have to know I'm 100% right.
What do the "highs" in your life look like?
Feeling content, learning, talking, having control over my life and achieving new things and feeling a brighter future coming.
What do the "lows" in your life look like?
binging YouTube, not going outside, not learning new things, reaching out to people for entertainment and not willing to complete simple school tasks out of fear of confronting the amount of things I've laid off.
How attached are you to reality? Do you daydream often, or do you pay attention to what's around you? If you do daydream, are you aware of your surroundings while you do so?
Daydream wayyyyyy too often. I mean I've daydreamed I was a 9 year old being hired by Elon musk for 2 whole hours in front of my mirror. I know, it's not okay. Dunno how aware I am of the surroundings but I can snap out of it pretty fine. But daydreaming is really fun, problem is, I can't keep doing it because then I know im procrastinating on something and I feel guilty. day dreaming is awesome when you know there's nothing else to do so you might as well think about something cool.
Sorry for writing so much, just finished a statistics final project and just needed to distract myself.
Thank you so much for anyone that reads through this whole things, big thanks, and thank u for all the typers!

2023.06.05 05:38 Lexxiah Newly Diagnosed
After about 2 years of every test known to man I’ve been diagnosed with SLE. In that 2 years I’ve been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, endometriosis, chostocondritis, sjogrens, GERD, IBS and a hypertonic pelvic floor.
What that means (as I’m sure you all know) is that everything hurts all the time. I only recently started experiencing my hands, feet and calves feeling like they’re breaking out of nowhere.
I was in the Army, have done Krav Maga forever and go to the gym. I know I’m not alone in this but the regress from being a very capable human to someone who has to be careful just walking or picking something up is…difficult.
I have an appointment with my main doc on Wednesday. My1st question for him will be how much of my new Lupus diagnosis cancels out the others. Literally everything I’ve gone through seems to be a symptom of Lupus.
The irony here is that last week I made a joke to my sis that I wish it was easier to put all of my issues on the paperwork for new doctors and it seems like the universe answered with an easy-to-write one word, lol: LUPUS.
Honestly I hate medication so my worst fear is some of the meds you all talk about going on. I tend to feel every side effect ever with things so I try really hard to use natural measures to fix thing, like with diet changes and exercise. I guess that’s kind of silly because I already spend most of my time sick and in pain so I mean really, why would I be so scared of some side effects, right?
Anyway, it’s nice to be in this digital age, able to connect with other people’s stories with just a flick of the finger. I appreciate this group and look forward to getting a better understanding of this body that hates itself so much.
Foster hammie pic for levity and aww’s. :)

2023.06.05 05:38 Guilty-Engine-9810 I absolutely hate being born in a Muslim country
So, I (21M) am a Saudi who just graduated from the US and will go back next week since working in the US on a visa is awful. And I'm not looking forward to it. I just gotta get this off my chest. I grew up in the height of the "sahwah" or "islamic enlightenment" which saw the clerics take control of all facets of society. From education to law to fucking everything. I had to watch my mother struggle with paperwork to raise me since she (a 33 yr old woman) needed a "guardian" and when she was married to my dad he was the "guardian". Ultimately they separated when I was 7 but they remained married on paper (despite living in different homes) for 12 years after because my mother didn't want to get back under the "guardianship" of her abusive dad. I'm only thankful that my dad is a reasonable man who detests these awful "guardianship" laws as much we all do and stuck with being the "guardian" of my mother for 12 years. doing all her passports, paperworks, giving her "permissions" to travel. Now they're officially divorced but my older brother, her SON is her "guardian" again thank God he's also a reasonable guy that doesn't chain her but we're all fed up with this bullshit.
The amount of damage the "sahwah" has done to society is astronomical. It always makes my blood boil how it infected every facet of society. I went to a normal government school in the "SCENTIFIC" track but 50% of my curriculum is religion. Stupid crap like fiqh and sharia that won't invent planes or make medicine. My fucking PHYSICS teacher used to preach hate against the "infidel west" and "music" all the while taking western medicine, using western computers, and even wearing clothes made in the west. What's even more laughable is that was during the height of the "anti-terrorism" campaign. So they literally used to teach us "those kuffars are evil, corrupt, manipulative, enemy of all muslims, and 9/11 was an inside job to villanize all muslims" BUT "don't blow them up" like wtf?? You're preaching all this fucking hate for this group of people, calling them evil, enemies, but qualifying it with saying but "don't blow them up" like yeah I'm sure that's gonna work. No wonder we're the den of Islamic terrorism, this level of cognitive dissonance always made me and my dad chuckle if not cry for the future of the country.
A situation that I will always remember is when I went to a presentation by the head of the most prestigious MEDICAL school in the country. He asked the audience " what's the most important major?" I took a chance and said "science?" and he replied "no! sharia is!" because "science without sharia is aimless and hollow". To which I absolutely wanted so badly to respond with "well how come we're all using these "hollow" inventions from the kuffars? if they're so hollow why don't we give them up and be self-sufficient" but I didn't because I'm not a dumbass about to be ostracized for showing some critical thinking skills.
Decades of religious indoctrination have created a generation that's both too educated and under-educated. too educated because of the free schools and universities but under-educated due to how much religion is shoved into every subject. Doesn't matter if it's chemistry, they have to always shove religion into it. This also reminds me of a saying by my chemistry teacher. He used to say that "women are like protons and their nucleus is the house. As soon as protons (women) leave their house (nucleus) a nuclear reaction (total anarchy) will ensue." how he managed to shove religion into fucking chemistry is beyond me. No wonder 80% of workers in the private sector are foreigners and 50% of IT workers are foreign. While we were all too busy with fiqh and sharia we started bringing western kuffars educated in science and technology to work for us. I'm sure that's sustainable and the oil will never cease to be important.
And now I'm going back to this country in a few days. God help me (if he's there) because I don't know how I will cope. My only saving grace is that I have a penis so I don't have to deal with 7th century "guardianship" laws, My heart goes out to all women in Saudi Arabia and other repressive muslim countries who have to deal with this crap. I don't know how you all do but you're incredible. I only hope with all these new reforms that life for women will continue improving and that not another "sahwah" will emerge to set us back another 50 years.
I just wanted to get this off my chest. I'm aware of all the new reforms and I'm hopeful for change but you can imagine that being brought up in such an environment makes me question how much "reform" can do in the short term to heal those infected with decades long of Islamic indoctrination. I hope I can immigrate to a western country in the future. I don't care if it's the US, new Zealand or japan. Just anywhere free of this religious obsession. This is a throwaway account so I won't be replying to anyone. Thanks for reading this far. Hoping you and I all end up safe wherever we want to be.

2023.06.05 05:32 Punk18 Christopher Pike was important for me
Reading is important and beneficial in my life. Many people love to read as kids, but a great number of them lose touch with that. There were a few YA authors that helped me bridge the gap between children's books and today. For me Christopher Pike was the most important of these authors, and so I want to say thank you to him. Is there any way to contact him? I tried looking but found nothing.
Also, one of his books really sticks in my mind. A group of friends were driving and hit a body that was later revealed to have been a corpse from a medical school placed there as a prank. Any idea what the title of the book is? I would love to reread it.

WoS is a game that a group of friends and I are going to start working on, and it's an online MMO RTS game where it's like battlefield 1 combat, but it has a massive map of multiple dieselpunk themed countries and you have to fight the other countries like Foxhole. The countries you can choose so far are: The royal imperium (the UK), The Vichy Republic (France), The Empire of Germania (do I really have to explain), and the Austroland Empire (Austro-Hungary). There are multiple classes ranging for assault, recon, support, officer (after you reach a high rank), medic, and juggernaut (Anti-Armour, Anti-infantry, flamethrower), each having there own abilities. There are also multiple vehicles like walkers, tanks, aircraft, ships, and the Behemoths. If you are interested and want to contribute ideas you are more than welcome. GamiWorks Studios

2023.06.05 04:54 bk9896 Frustrated and sad. I feel like we'll never EVER get out of debt bc of kid health issues
We have three boys aged 5, 7, 9. We were debt free (other than the house) until our middle was diagnosed with a relatively moderate immune disorder. He was pulled out of school, I had to quit working. Hospital stays and hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of testing in 1.5 years and we find out her needs a $30k drug IV (so we have to pay hospital and nurse fees too) every 2 weeks that our insurance doesn't cover. We don't make much money, so there are grants I have to apply for yearly for that one. And some years we will get one and the next year we won't. It's... Wild.
Then our oldest was diagnosed with post infectious (not COVID) Asthma. It is so severe he was in the ER at least once every single week for 6 months straight. Nothing at home worked to keep him breathing safely. His 4th doctor of the year said she literally had no one above her to escalate his case to. He was on 8 different medicines (multiple times) daily and hardly made it through the week. He was pulled out of school. He was finally approved for an injection that is $24k per month. Our insurance, of course, doesn't approve because it's "too new" and apparently new things are the devil. Even though this particular medicine has radically changed his life. He hasn't been to the ER for asthma in 13 months now. He has gotten approved for a program through the manufacturer of the miracle med because we have no money anymore. But it's so far past time for help that we don't even really feel the burden lessen. When you're so deep in debt, adding another thing on top doesn't even matter anymore.
Ofc the youngest had to present with bogus vision and needs glasses every 6 months. Which is like NOTHING compared to the others, but at $150-300 per pair of glasses.... It's not cheap. And we're just praying he doesn't smash them or break them, ya know? He's only five.
After three years of copays and pharmaceuticals and medical devices and testing we are over 300k in debt from our two medically fragile children. And we've been told we're the lucky ones with "good" insurance. But their conditions aren't going away. Ever. Asthma can get better, but it's not going away. This will be a lifetime cost for them even after they've left home.
My husband is a teacher. I keep the kids home from school because getting sick will literally put the older two in the hospital for weeks. We have an amazing homeschool group that meets outdoors for us. (Socialization!!!) And we love them all dearly, but financially we're drowning. And there is seemingly no hope. No one is going to forgive our medical debt. No one is going to leave us money in their will. No one is going to magically fix the USA healthcare insurance issue. We're stuck and it is just depressing.

2023.06.05 04:53 melloncollie77 What is FPC?
With the continuous progress of society and the continuous upgrading of the electronics industry, the traditional PCB can no longer meet the needs of all electronic products, and the market demand for FPC is also increasing.
The full name of FPC is Flexible Printed Circuit Board, which is famous for its lightweight, thin thickness, free bending, and folding in three-dimensional space.
FPC is a technology developed by the United States in the 1970s for the development of space rocket technology. It is made of polyester film (PET) or polyimide (PI) as a base material with high reliability and excellent flexibility. Flexible printed circuit, by embedding a circuit design on a flexible thin plastic sheet, a large number of precision components can be stacked in a narrow and limited space, thereby forming a flexible circuit. This kind of circuit can be bent and folded at will, is light in weight, small in size, good in heat dissipation, easy to install, and breaks through the traditional interconnection technology. In the structure of flexible circuits, the constituent materials are insulating films, conductors, and adhesives.
In fact, FPC is not only flexible but also an important design method for connecting three-dimensional circuit structures. This structure can support various applications with other electronic product designs. For PCBs, unless the circuit is molded three-dimensional shape, otherwise the general state of the circuit board is flat. Therefore, to make full use of the three-dimensional space, FPC is one of the best solutions. The current common space extension solution for PCB is to use slots to add interface cards, but FPC can complete a similar structure with a transfer design, and the direction adjustment is also more flexible. Using one piece of FPC to connect two pieces of PCB can be combined into a group The parallel line system can also be turned into any angle to adapt to different product shapes.
FPC can save the internal space of electronic products to a certain extent and make the assembly and processing of products more flexible. For example, LCD/OLED and AMOLED screen display panels in smartphones are connected through FPC, and they are also widely used in notebook computers, digital cameras, and medical, automotive, aerospace, and other fields.

2023.06.05 04:36 nzbluechicken Help! Passive aggressive friend driving me crazy.
Not sure if it is passive aggressive behaviour or what, but there's a woman in my friend group (all 50s in age) who is constantly making snide remarks about me and its starting to wind me up. We all share a passion for crafts and whenever we're in a group setting sharing what we've been doing she'll show her work but add a comment like "l'Il never be as good as [OP]". She even does it in public settings around strangers and makes comments about how her work isn't as good as mine. We're a supportive group of many different skill levels and I've never made disparaging comments about her or anyone else. It's getting to the point where I no longer want to share so I don't have to listen to her little digs. How do I deal with this or bring up with her that it's really upsetting me? Am open to helpful AND unhelpful but satisfying suggestions!
TLDR: Friend constantly making snarky comments about not being as good as me at a particular craft. Need ideas on how to respond.

2023.06.05 04:35 No-Farm873 He was denied disability and I’m sick over it
My husband will be 40 this year. In march of 22 he had a heart surgery that led to a stroke. It’s been over a year obviously, they suggest he’s plateaued and will likely not recover anymore. He’s functional enough to care for himself in most instances. He has aphasia now and has a very difficult time communicating. But he can bathe himself, he can drive (with no passengers), he can cook simple meals for himself. But he can do complex tasks. He can’t call and book an appointment for himself, he can’t refill his medication, he can’t fill out paperwork, he can’t fill out an application, he can’t control most of his big feelings, he can’t stop himself from swearing when he’s frustrated. The list goes on. Who would hire him? If you had an employee that I’d he got frustrated at someone else and he called them a stupid fucking moron and needed to go take a timeout for 10 minutes but then forgot that he was supposed to go back after 10 minutes and stayed on a break until you went to find him would you keep him as an employee?? Someone who can’t have a task that requires more than 3 steps? Who can’t read an instruction manual let alone an employee handbook? How is he not disabled? He has long term disability from when he was employed. But he’s been terminated from his job so we (me, him, and our 3 year old and 18 month old) have all lost our insurance. I can’t apply for Medicaid until I have an answer on if he’s disabled and now we have to go through what I can only assume with be a daunting appeals process. Thankfully his LTD has a program that helps with the appeals process. I’m just so angry about it. I don’t think I’m really looking for anything except a good vent. Thank you if you’ve read my woes and if you can relate I’m sorry. All the love to this group ❤️

2023.06.05 04:29 Tangou-888 The Hoax Story of Remarkable Testimony of a Buddhist monk in Myanmar (Burma) (Part II)
| Dear All NDE Fans, I was alerted and requested by someone in a responsible position to check for the authenticity of the story behind this posting. After speaking to and exchanging Emails with Myanmar (Burmese) monks as well as fellow Myanmar Buddhism experts in many countries, I am 100% confident that this NDE story is completely fictitious. The reasons are given below. (1) All Burmese experts said they had never heard of the story about this Myanmar Buddhist monk before. (2) There is also no reports either in Burma or outside Burma of mass defection of Myanmar Buddhist Monks to join the Christian Church. (3) The monk in the story said he became a novice at the age of 18. It is rather unusual as most boys Burmese boys join the monastic life at younger age than 18. (4) At the age of 19, he became a monk. This is also unusual as the entry age for becoming a fully ordained monk is 20. (There is one exception when one considers the foetal life while in the mother's womb) (5) U Zadila, also known as 'Kyar Ni Kan Sayadaw' was described as probably the most famous Buddhist Teacher of the time. That is disputable. Venerable Kyar Ni Kan Sayadaw was indeed well known and very popular as public speaker and preacher. But he was not regarded as the most distinguished monk academically and intellectually. (6) The monk said 'Kyar Ni Kan Sayadaw' died in a car crash in 1983 . In fact Sayadaw died in Myanmar Era 1339 = about 1977. There was a 6 years discrepancy which is unacceptable as the monk said he studied under him. He should know the exact year when his teacher died. And that 1977 was also the year when he became a monk. This fact alone is enough to brand the story as a fake or invention. (7) He said he was given a new name of 'U Nata Pannita Ashinthuriya' when he entered the monastery. In Burma, the title 'shin' was used for the novice. 'U' was never used for a novice. (8) The monk's new name itself was unusual nor unheard of, according to the monks I consulted. (9) Doctors diagnosed Malaria and Yellow fever. Actually the Yellow Fever was not known to exist in Burma. (10) To recover completely after very severe malaria is most unusual especially after being discharged to die. (11) To regain Life after the body started to decay (decompose) is impossible according to conventional medical thinking. There are other discrepancies regarding his actual NDE. But there is no need to dig deeper. It is a complete FICTION. It is very regrettable that a Christian Church was reported to be involved in creating this dishonest practice. We expect 'James' to say something about our findings. He is the one who reported the story to the world media. After reading his various postings to this forum, I believe that he is either a priest or a serious Christian. We welcome his reply as well as the communication from the Church authorities who wrote the Introduction to this fictitious story and published in their regular bulletin. Best wishes to all, Melvin, [email protected]... ___________________________________________________ http://www.ccgm.org.au/Articles/ARTICLE-0102.htm Note: The old link was no longer there so try this link instead http://www.christianfaith.com/lookout/the-tale-of-the-resurrected-monk Resurrected Burmese Monk Story Revisited During the year 2000, numerous emails circulated on the Internet passing on the dramatic story: ‘BACK FROM THE DEAD The Remarkable Testimony of a Buddhist monk in Myanmar (Burma) who came back to life a changed man!’ With CCG Ministries’ involvement in Asia, including Myanmar, we were very interested in this story and its authenticity. It was brought to ‘life’ on the Internet through the promotion of a Christian missionary organization then called, Asian Minorities Outreach, later changing its name to: Asia Harvest, headquartered in Texas, USA, and operating from Thailand. Its Director, Paul Hatthaway, has written several books, including ‘The Heavenly Man’. For quite some time the ‘resurrected Buddhist monk’ story appeared on the front page of the organisation’s website. Then the actual story was removed from their website, but a remaining reference to it encouraged people to request a copy of the story by email. The following explanation for the change, was given by the group at the time: ‘A Quick Note: We have been asked by many people why this testimony is no longer available on our website. We were ordered to remove the story by the government of Singapore, who had apparently received complaints from Buddhists. As our website is housed in Singapore at the moment, we didn’t have much choice.’ AMO/Asia Harvest introduced the story with the following introduction: ‘The story that follows is simply a translation of a taped testimony from a man with a life-changing story. It is not an interview or a biography, but simply the words from the man himself. Different people react in different ways when they hear this story. Some are inspired, some skeptical, a few will mock and ridicule, while some others have even been filled with rage and anger, convinced these words are the ravings of a mad man or an elaborate deception. Some Christians have opposed the story simply because the radical and miraculous events described herein do not fit their feeble image of an Almighty God.’ We were concerned with the above wording and commented in our 2001 report that it was interesting to note the approach they took in the introduction. Anyone who questioned the story would immediately be labelled as a sceptic, a mocker or ridiculer, someone filled with rage and anger, or worse a Christian whose concept of God is feeble and who does not believe that an Almighty God can be radical and perform miracles. This could be seen by some as a form of bullying and intimidation to dismiss any form of thought and questioning of the story. It is not a healthy or biblical approach to dealing with questions about such a dramatic story, nor does it encourage people to use their minds. The resurrected monk’s story was quite a dramatic tale and it has impressed many people. It was even reported in the well-known Christian Singaporean magazine: IMPACT (June/July 2000, p.45). It continued to be circulated and passed on through emails for some time. But was it true? If it was, it SHOULD be circulated - whatever the consequences. But what if it was NOT true? Should it then continue to be circulated never-the-less? We believe not! It should be noted that there have been several versions of the story circulating. One version, which was circulating in March and April of 2000, began with an ‘Extract’: ‘Myanmar: Buddhist monk raised from the dead - 300 monks turn to Jesus. “In 1998, a Buddhist monk died. A few days later, his funeral was held, at which he was to be cremated. From the smell, it was obvious that his body had started to decompose - he was very clearly dead!” according to the report from missions agency Asian Minorities Outreach. “We have attempted to verify this report which reached us from a number of sources, and are now convinced that it is accurate,” they write. Hundreds of monks and relatives of the dead man attended the funeral. Just as the body was about to be burned, the dead monk suddenly sat up, shouting ‘It’s a lie! I saw our ancestors burning and being tortured in some sort of fire. I also saw Buddha and many other Buddhist holy men. They were all in a sea of fire!’ ‘We must listen to the Christians,’ he continued emphatically, ‘they’re the only ones who know the truth!’ The events shocked the whole region. Over 300 monks became Christians and started to study the Bible. The resurrected man continued to warn everyone to believe in Jesus, because he is the only true God. Tapes of the monk’s report were distributed throughout Myanmar. The Buddhist hierarchy and the government were soon alarmed, and they arrested the monk. He has not been seen since and it is feared that he was killed to keep him silent. It is now a serious crime to listen to the tapes, because the government wants to dampen the sensation.’ On Sunday 19th November 2000, CCG Ministries’ Director, Adrian van Leen, interviewed and spoke with a man who claimed to be the ‘resurrected’ Paul in a hotel function room in Yangon in the company of four Myanmar Christian leaders. That interview raised serious questions as to the authenticity of the story under consideration. Our detailed review of the interview with the man claiming to be Paul, the ‘resurrected’ monk, was published as a report, sent to Asia Harvest, and placed on our website. After emailing a copy of the report, we also sent a ‘hard’ copy of the TACL containing the printed article, to Asia Harvest. In the latter part of 2003 we received the following email from Asia Harvest: Greetings! I’m sure you will remember our communications a year or two back regarding the story of the Buddhist monk in Myanmar who came back to life. We were the ones who first had his testimony translated and published on our website. Then you travelled to Myanmar and met with a man regarding this story. Your graphic report of that interview, his seemingly unstable mind and completely inconsistent testimony left us with no option but to withdraw the story from our website and offer our deep apologies. The last thing we want to do is discredit the name of our Lord Jesus by publishing any story that is untrue. I wrote to you of our intentions and you accurately reported, [After Asia Harvest received a copy of this report they removed all references to the story from their website and stopped sending out email transcripts of the claimed resurrection account. They will be making some statement regarding their initial endorsement of the story. When this is available we will gladly append it to this report.] However, when we received your magazine article which carried a picture of the man you interviewed, we showed it to two Burmese pastors who met the original “Paul” in Myanmar and they immediately said this was the wrong man! Later a missionary who lives here in Thailand but who works in Myanmar also said the man you interviewed looks nothing like the monk, being much younger. More information since has revealed that there are actually three or four different people in Myanmar who claim they were monks who rose from the dead! Our contacts in Yangon (Rangoon) say that two of these are completely untrustworthy men, with little evidence of a genuine conversion to Christ. One of these is the young man you interviewed. No wonder his birth-date and other key facts were different from the testimony we published - it was not the same person! It almost seems that Satan sent along these counterfeits with false testimonies and a poor witness in order to discredit the original testimony. Can we absolutely guarantee the story we published is true - of course not. Only God and the person involved can know what happened in such a story. We stated this when we first released the transcript of his testimony. But as far as can be verified, we have yet to be convinced that this testimony is false. We have been told it now seems likely that the monk Paul was killed. He was in hiding for more than 12 months and has not been heard of since. Another ex-monk who lives in Shan State, who also converted to Christ through miraculous circumstances is also being hunted by the authorities in a bid to silence him. In the interests of fairness, would you be willing to publish our comments in this email with the story that is on your website? God bless you, Asia Harvest Unfortunately, this update from Asia Harvest still fails to answer many of the questions and issues CCG Ministries raised in our report initially. Our report had already acknowledged that there were several people in Myanmar (Burma) claiming to be the ‘resurrected’ monk: Further complications have arisen with this whole saga. According to the beliefs of some people in Myanmar (or some with friends and/or relatives in Myanmar), several different people supposedly, or apparently, are claiming to be the resurrected Buddhist monk - at least an older man and a not-so-balanced young man. Even if we completely remove the questionable ‘Paul’ interviewed by CCG Ministries’ Director and several Myanmar Pastors, we are still left with serious questions about the whole story anyway. These were made clear in our 2001 report and remain unanswered by the recent comments from Asia harvest. Apart from the contradictions made by [the suspect] Paul in front of witnesses, there are still serious questions about the content of his [the ‘original ‘Paul’] supposed visions or visit to hell and heaven, as well as questions about editorial comments made by Asian Minorities Outreach/Asia Harvest. AMO/Asia Harvest has made statements about Paul being radically transformed and having a 180-degree shift in his life, and him continuing to be a fearless witness for Christ, of him being persecuted, scorned by family, friends and colleagues, and facing death for his unwillingness to compromise. But some Myanmar Christian leaders have asked (as we do also) on what do they base this, apart from his say so [or the say-so of unnamed pastors whose comments seem in clear conflict with that of the majority of pastors – especially from known established churches and denominations]? What evidence do they have? Statements that [the ‘original’] Paul had been arrested and imprisoned - probably several times, not seen since, and that it was feared that he had been killed to keep him silent - are all highly emotive. While claims of imprisonment in such a situation are plausible and even probable, they remain unsubstantiated. AMO/Asia Harvest has stated that the story was first told them by several Burmese church leaders, and that since being initially told they ‘have attempted to verify this report which reached us from a number of sources, and are now convinced that it is accurate.’ IMPACT Magazine reported that a spokesman for AMO/Asia Harvest stated: ‘We believe it to be true as there are many witnesses to these events.’ CCG Ministries’ Director, Adrian van Leen, before, especially during, and after his visit to Myanmar in November 2000, [and subsequent visits in 2001 and 2002] has spoken to a number of [numerous] Myanmar Christian leaders - including a number who are involved in inter-church/inter-denominational work, as well as leaders of several denominations. He spoke with leaders from Yangon and across Myanmar who attended a conference in Bago, and also Christian leaders in Mandalay and a regional township. Many of these leaders from across varying denominations had contact with other Christian leaders across the country. No one was able to give ANY form of authentication to the story. A number of leaders, including those who had been in Christian leadership in Mandalay, knew of no evidence to confirm any part of the story. Some of the Myanmar Christian leaders would very much like to know who the ‘several Burmese church leaders’ are that AMO/Asia Harvest refers to as their sources for this story. In fact, it was pointed out very clearly that, had the story been true, especially had there been a number of Buddhist monks converted to Christianity - especially as many as 300 and very much so if there were as many as 7,000 - the news would have spread rapidly. While the government-controlled media might have tried to suppress such news - the Christians and churches (particularly in the Mandalay area) would not have been able - nor have wanted to - suppress such news. It would have spread rapidly and widely through the churches. The Buddhist community would also have spread the story - though for different reasons. The claim that ’there are many witnesses to these events’ is also disputed by Myanmar Christian leaders, who have stated that they had never met anyone who had been a direct primary witness - nor anyone who had personally met a direct witness to these events… The reality is that in Myanmar itself no one has been able to find any witnesses or any evidence whatever, to support the story of the resurrected Paul. It was also pointed out that [the ‘original’] Paul’s claim to have seen Aung San, the revolutionary leader of Myanmar (father of current opposition leader, Aung San Suu Kyi) in hell ‘because he persecuted and killed Christians, but mostly because he didn’t believe in Jesus Christ’ was completely without foundation. He is a well known figure in Burmese/Myanmar thinking and history - and there is no evidence at all that he persecuted any Christians, let alone killed any. AMO/Asia Harvest has invited ‘Christian believers to judge it [Paul’s resurrection story] according to Scripture.’ As one senior Myanmar pastor pointed out, the story and description of hell given by Paul, is itself contrary to Scripture. Paul’s story is also in conflict with the story Jesus told in the account of the rich man and the beggar, Lazarus (Luke 16:19-31). When carefully examined it is also in conflict with the comments of the Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 15 - in particular where that Paul was able to name eye witnesses to the resurrection of Christ - and acknowledged at the time that some were still living - in other words, he was able to produce witnesses who could testify to the authenticity of his claims. Pastors in Myanmar are still asking for real evidence and living witnesses to the claimed miracle with whom they can discuss and verify the story. So far, the story’s authenticity remains with the claims made by Asia Harvest. The story of the ‘resurrected Paul’ is known throughout much of Myanmar - and his tape has circulated (in several versions). Hardly anyone in Myanmar - especially amongst Christian leaders - has accepted or believed the story. There is just nothing to back it up. Far from the ‘resurrected monk’ story providing a ‘fearless and faithful witness to Jesus Christ, whose testimony is converting Buddhists, strengthening the church or bringing glory to God’s name’, Myanmar pastor have told our Director that it has brought fear and suspicion to many Christians in the country. We concluded our 2001 report with the comment: Whatever the truth behind this sad saga, most Christians, and most pastors and church leaders in Myanmar, are not taking this story seriously and see little value in it for the growth of the Christian community in that country. From the evidence we have been able to examine, including the claims and content of the story itself, and all the discussions with Pastors and others in Myanmar, we believe it would have been wiser for the story not to have been published and circulated. We believe that ‘miracle stories’ which cannot be adequately substantiated ought to be treated with caution – especially if those stories, or significant parts of those stories, do not conform to Scripture. Lives continue to be changed by the resurrected and living Jesus Christ – sometimes dramatically, sometimes quietly – the substance of those changed lives are quiet miracles that are often clear and undisputed. They continue to honour Christ and encourage others. Burmese \"Paul\" as in the story submitted by Tangou-888 to TBSDaoismVajrayana [link] [comments] |
2023.06.05 04:24 rosetree47 Advice/support/rant for people with comorbidities
I’m really not sure this is the group to post this in, but out of all the ones I’m part of, you guys are the most supportive and helpful, and I know a lot of us have multiple diagnoses.
In the last few months I’ve been diagnosed with narcolepsy and SIBO, on top of standing diagnoses of depression, anxiety, ADHD, hypermobility, and IBS. I just did some blood tests with a rheumatologist and there’s something whack going on (not sure what yet, I got my results from the lab but haven’t had my follow up) that seems to be some sort of inflammation/autoimmune thing and also my liver is unhappy (side question - could modafinil affect my liver after just several weeks?). She’s also referring me to a geneticist to test for Ehlers Danlos which we’re both pretty positive I have. I’ve tried a whole host of lifestyle changes, diet changes, etc and can’t seem to feel notably better.
I was talking to a good friend who has health issues as well and likes to try holistic natural routes before pharmaceuticals, which I generally agree with when medically appropriate. But something she said is just really sticking with me. First was “how many medical issues can you actually have?” Which is fair because I’ve had the same thought. But the thing that’s been bothering me was “but if you keep seeking out diagnoses, you’re going to keep getting them.”
I’ve felt shitty for 15 years and have been trying to find answers and solutions, and it’s just all happening at once. But is she right? Would even a “healthy” person end up being convinced something is wrong if they saw multiple doctors and got all these tests done? Does everyone have blood work that’s abnormal? Does everyone feel like shit and I just am too weak to handle it? I feel like my medical issues are so complicated, but currently not that severe, but I want to figure out what’s going on now so I can prevent it from getting worse. I just feel confused and invalidated and like I’m having total medical anxiety. If you’re still reading at this point, thank you for sticking with me. What would you do? What do you think?

2023.06.05 04:24 Professional-Dog-347 Exemption from coursework and assignments?
I didn't do any of the assignments for a class (I did only 1 assignment, which was worth 15%, but none of the smaller ones), even though I did study the material. Now I need 35/40 on the final exam to pass. I know I'll be eligible for a "conceded pass" if I get a D+ but it just seems too risky still. (If I get a 28/40, I think I'll get a D which isn't eligible?)
Tbh, unfortunately I had just too many issues in my life pile up throughout the semester, kind of struggled financially, and had to borrow money to pay off utilities. I was trying to put a lot of work into my capstone course too, which just demanded a lot more than my normal course (especially as most of the group just disappeared and did nothing). And of course just looking for graduate jobs too, which require a million interviews and tests for each job alone.
It felt like I had to sacrifice all of my assignments in that one class in order to actually stay on top of everything else in my life, and be a little more mentally sane. I really just want to graduate at the end of this semester, and don't want to have to go through an entire extra sem just doing 1 class, that'd be terrible. (This isn't a required class either)
I sent an e-mail to the course coordinator this morning about a lot of these struggles that I'm facing, and asked for a shift in grade weight from assignments to exams. Or possibly, an extension to complete all of them by the end of this week (as they are all auto-marked anyway). I'm just stressing though because the exam is on Wednesday so it's super close by. I want to know if I should contact the university too, and maybe get a note from the therapist?
I used to have really bad anxiety issues in the past which I had to take see a psychologist for, and take medication for in order to focus on anything. I don't really need that medication anymore, but because of all the issues that kind of piled up over the last couple of months (social, family, financial, capstone, career), I kind of started getting that same feeling again. In my e-mail I felt maybe I didn't convey just how serious this kind of is for me. And also, I recognize it's a holiday today, and so maybe they'll just reply tomorrow.
Tbh, just trying to get a feel of what my options are atm. Is it too late to get all of this sorted, even if it's after the exam has already happened? Can I still get some sort of exemption or grade weight shift after the exam? If the course coordinator maybe accidentally is too busy, or can't respond, can I get something sorted with the university directly?
Thanks for reading
TL;DR
- Was meant to graduate end of this sem
- Bad anxiety issues, and other things built up in life
- had to sacrifice all the assignments in 1 class to stay mentally sane, and financially stable
- Capstone course just required a lot more work than normal
- have to get a high final exam grade now in order just to get a C-
- Looking for options on what's possible, and what to do and say to the uni tomorrow.
- I really need to graduate, I have a graduate job lined up, and honestly, don't want to risk losing this opportunity (and what'll likely begin making life much easier for me)

2023.06.05 04:03 HercHuntsdirty Should I Text Her After Breakup (6 Years Together) To Show How Much I Value Fixing What We Had?
TL;DR AT BOTTOM
Never thought I’d be bringing this to Reddit, but here I am!
I (26M) was recently broken up with by my (24F) girlfriend of 6 years right after opening up to her about how I had been struggling a lot mentally recently. That's not necessarily the cause, but it happens to be a terrible coincidence.
Backstory:
About 10 weeks ago I had a very long night out and woke up extremely hungover. My brother met up with me that night in our parents car and ended up staying with us for a few drinks, so evidently he left the car.
Of course, I woke up and had a boatload of caffeine so I was already on edge a little bit. My brother was still asleep, so my mom asked me if I could quickly drive my dad to the car so he could take it home. No problem, I hopped in my car and drove there with my dad.
On the way home, completely unprovoked and no anxiety prior, I had an insane panic attack. I’ve never experienced anything like it before. I think I’ve only had one panic attack in my life, and for some reason it left me with a very small amount of social anxiety. During this attack, my hands and feet were completely numb and sweating. At first, I had literally no idea what was going on - I thought it was a legitimate health issue. I ended up taking a bit to drive home, but I made it.
Since then, I've just had heightened anxiety. I've had one other panic attack in the past and I eventually got over the lingering anxiety, so I knew it wasn't permanent.
Mental Health Backstory on her end:
To preface this, we both have anxiety/depression in our genetics unfortunately. In fact, her mom spent some time in the hospital when they were young because of how bad it got.
She also apparently had a ton of anxiety from work recently (she's a nurse, I'm in tech).
On my mothers side of the family, my mom, grandma and great grandma have struggled with anxiety their entire lives, some of them taking antidepressants.
Not fun genes for either of us to have, but we persevered!
Our Relationship:
This is what has been getting to me, our relationship was very healthy. We argued probably 2-3 times per year, we spent the majority of days together - as we lived only a 5 minute drive apart. We were both fully a part of each other's families. All of the normal relationship stuff, we were completely engulfed in it. We had also been looking at engagement rings for a bit and ALWAYS talked about our life together.
When I was about 19 before we were together, I used to drunkenly talk about her all of the time to my friends saying "if she ever gets out of the relationship with her boyfriend (at that time) she's the one I'm going for". When I was graduating high school, I went into her class on yearbook day, grabbed her yearbook and wrote my number in it. Long story short, she ended up single and within a month of that happening, we were together.
The "problems" we had over the years that were semi-recurring:
I didn't suggest enough of our plans. I explained to her a number of times that I'd happily go anywhere, I just don't tend to suggest ideas because sometimes she wanted to, other times she didn't. I've lived by the motto "happy wife, happy life" in that relationship, so I tended to go along with whatever she suggested.
We didn't take enough pictures together. I don't really like being in too many pictures and that bothered her.
We didn't travel together enough. This goes back to the anxiety, I hate flying and haven't done it in almost a decade. However, I have an appointment with my doctor in early July where I'm requesting some "emergencies only" anxiety medication to use for that exact scenario. Note - she went on a number of trips over the years with her closest friends. Furthermore, we had done weekend getaways via car together but those apparently don't count. To add, her friends are hopping on planes at least once per month to go somewhere, I think comparison became the thief of joy here.
I didn't tell her I loved her enough or hug her enough. This one is hard for me because I felt like I definitely told her I loved her a lot. She used to occasionally say "do you even love me", semi-joking but also serious, and I always told her of course I did and even though I may not say it a number of times a day, of course I do. I also did a TON of things for her to show how much I cared (ie. she very rarely had to make a lunch for work, I cooked for her almost every day and we don't even live together) The hugging thing is a bit different, as she's always been extremely affectionate and I never really have been. I truly think it comes down to how I was raised, affection just wasn't a huge part of my childhood. (note, that's not a problem for me or anything, I had incredible family/parents, it just wasn't as prominent as it was in her childhood)
I cared a lot about money and how we could set ourselves up to move out. She had taken 5 trips (two of them by train, three by plane) with her friends in the past year and after the 5th one I asked if she planned on slowing down so she could focus on tackling her student debt and so we could start saving to move out, have a wedding etc. Specifically, I wanted us to be in the position where we weren't renting a home, ESPECIALLY given how much money we were making combined. This part kind of confused me because she was the first one to suggest moving out, but when it came time to adjusting the lifestyle to prepare for it, she didn't like the idea. But, I did use it as a crutch for my anxiety to get out of things sometimes and I did open up to her about that. As an example though, I still went with her to the Gucci store and helped her pick out a very expensive purse to celebrate getting her first real nursing job after graduating. I don't feel that I cared about money (especially given the stage we were in in our lives) more than any of my buddies with girlfriends. I wanted us to be set up well for the coming stages of our lives; they were fast approaching. Furthermore, her friends are catching a plane every weekend and are living with their parents but pay cheque to pay cheque with no prospects of ever leaving unless it's renting
The Situation:
About 7-ish weeks ago, a few weeks after my panic attack, my girlfriend was very adamant that we needed to book a trip together. She said we hadn't been on a "real" trip during our relationship (by real, she means getting on a plane). We were sitting down in her bed on my laptop looking at destinations and flights, but I was incredibly anxious about the whole thing. As we were about to book, I broke down and was fully vulnerable to her for one of the first times in the 6 year relationship. I said that I just don't see myself getting onto a plane right now without some kind of medication to calm me down. On top of that, it would stress me out financially a bit, as I'm a full-time masters student and working full time. Plus, it was during my one-week semester break, so I honestly just wanted to relax.
From that day on, our relationship started going downhill. She said she felt extremely disappointed by the whole situation and she couldn't shake the feeling. We then started only hanging out maybe once per week and it was very bland when we did. A couple weeks after that incident, I slept over at her house and I could tell she was genuinely just not happy at that time.
Brief backstory - despite being 26, my mom still gives me a ton of flack if I sleep at her house. It was rare that I got away with it. But, I did it that night anyway because she always asked me to sleep over but I rarely wanted to have to deal with my mom. I thought it would help show her I'm really trying to get better. She also invited me over the following evening and I obviously went.
After that day, I don't think we saw each other for about 2 weeks. I texted her on a Friday evening and said I just don't feel like she wants to be with me anymore. She picked me up so we could talk, and explained that she felt very disappointed about how we were so close to booking the trip and ended up not doing it. She said she needed a break and I was fine with it, I understood where she was coming from.
During this time, I started seeing a therapist. I found one online who was one of the highest rated in my province and was also extremely experienced in marital/pre-marital counselling so I could tell her about the relationship issues I was having along with my anxiety.
Fast forward about 2 more weeks (last weekend) she texted me saying she was ready to talk and picked me up. She said it's probably best if we just end the relationship for the time being. She explained that she felt she had been disappointed a few times over the years and was bottling a lot of things up. She said she needed time to "find herself again" and didn't know if we would get back together at all in the future or not. Then, we sat there talking in her car for another 30 minutes like things were normal so it really threw me off.
I ended up texting her the next day and asked if I could pick her up because I was confused from the night prior since we talked so normally after the breakup conversation. We ended up talking again, sharing some tears and what not, but I kind of understood why she felt she needed to be alone for a bit, even though she didn't know if we would get back together or not. She said that people do this all of the time and sometimes they come back stronger, but if it was meant to be then we'll get back together. I also told her about how much help I'm getting and how I'm setting a goal to take a vacation when I finish my masters in November. She was noticeably happy and asked a lot about how I was talking to my therapist about improving as a person and a (what I thought was soon to be) fiancé. She asked for all of the details about what we talked about in regards to our relationship and was very happy that I was putting that much effort in.
A couple days ago is when she deleted are photos together, but it came right after she posted an Instagram story while out with a friend who has no stability whatsoever. This friend has been on and off with the same guy (who treats her terribly) for as long as we were together. Not to mention, she sleeps around a ton. I can't help but feel like some of this breakup is being influenced by her friends (specifically this one) wanting her to be single like they are out of jealousy or something. Or, they want her to be flying somewhere once a month with them with no plans for the future. My girlfriend has cried to me in the past because she had been brought to places she didn't want to be because her friend wanted to go for a guy. That friend has also been binge drinking several times weekly for years. The following night, her two friends posted a story of her incredibly drunk in the back of a car with her feet out of the window I'm sure in hopes that I would see it. We're grown ass adults, I can't help but feel like that's just not a cool thing to do to your friend in general? I don't care how drunk you are, in fact I expected her to have a night out with her friends and let loose but posting someone else like that is just insanely stupid to me! To put the icing on the cake, one of my long time buddies from high school decided to go for one of her friends and I gave him substantial warnings about her. Within a year, that relationship was completely over with and she was on to the next.
Neither of us were ever the type one to have one-night stands or get around, so I'm not concerned about anything like that during the breakup. If it happens it happens, but I won't be sleeping with anyone until I've put in all of my effort to saving everything we've built. She's only ever been with me and her ex, while I've had a handful more partners before her - but I've experienced enough in my 26 years to know that there was is only one woman for me.
After all of this, I still couldn't shake the feeling that I felt I was being abandoned during the one time in my entire life I've opened up to anyone and really wanted some support. I'm also just having a hard time processing why it happened and how I can salvage it.
I've texted her once per week since the breaks & breakup happened just telling her that I loved her and wished we were going to XYZ events coming up. I also always say in the message that "You don't have to respond or even read it, I just want you to know". I'm having a hard time deciding if I should continue giving her that weekly text or not, but I really do want her to know how much I care and thought we were a dream team.
I just can't help but feel like we had "problems" that were very fixable and were very minor compared to 99% of couples. Her two best friends have had 5+ boyfriends each in the time that we were together and countless one-night stands. Every time they would break up, I'd hear a story from my girlfriend about how terribly they were treated by these guys and we talked about how lucky we are to have each other. There was no forms of jealousy or self-consciousness between us either, neither of us were bothered when we went out alone with our respective friend groups. I also never for a second worried when she travelled with her friends that she'd cheat or something.
This wraps in with why I can't process the breakup. Aside from the few things we argued about here and there (few times a year) it was an incredibly healthy relationship. I had a great relationship with her friends (despite some of the things I've said about them above) and would often times opt to go out drinking with her group over my group of buddies. I acknowledged my shortcomings as a boyfriend (ie. the affection) with my therapist and she's giving me some help with it. Am I crazy for thinking that we can easily salvage everything we’ve built over 6 years?
TL;DR - We had a very healthy relationship, never argued, no cheating, but she said I didn’t tell her I loved her enough or wasn’t affectionate enough. Said she doesn’t know if we’ll get back together or not. I’ve been texting her once a week just to say I hope she had a good weekend, to let me know if she wants to talk and that I love her. Should I continue it?
