My (m43) and my wife (f44) have been separated for over a year. (We aren’t divorced yet because of insurance reasons.) Almost immediately, she started dating a man I’ll call Nick (m33). I have no problem with her dating, but this guy moved in quick and harasses our two children ages 11 and 13. Nick is an abusive alcoholic, and gets unpredictable when he’s had a lot to drink. He was baker acted once when he got so drunk he was cutting his own arm in front of the ex to prove some point he was trying to make. He treats her terribly and throws insults and verbal abuse but she will not leave him. Actually, she kicks him out about every few weeks but the next day he apologizes and starts all over again. My kids are left alone for the most part because they hide in their rooms to play with phones, Xbox, etc. When he does bother them, I had to tell them to inform him that “if he lays hands on my kids, I lay hands on him.” Luckily, he is literally half my size and afraid of me. I don’t want to go to jail for assaulting him, so this is my only recourse that I can see. I want to call the cops on him when he gets in his truck to drive somewhere, because by noon, he’s over the limit. He starts drinking in the morning and continues through the day at his job, then comes home to drink more. He drives everywhere in his truck no matter how much he’s had to drink. To get him out of our lives, I want to get him arrested. Would this make me the asshole? Edit: I’d have to stalk outside their house and wait for him to go somewhere before I could call, so this plan would be time intensive and maybe unrealistic.

We've been looking for a home in the Denver area, which is a super hot market. For context, the first house we submitted an offer on in April had 27 other offers and ended up going almost $100k over asking. We started looking very seriously last month and just submitted our 4th offer yesterday afternoon.
We found a house that checked a lot of our boxes and didn't need much work. The list price was near the top of our budget but we had some wiggle room to submit over ask. We were told with a "compelling enough" offer they'd consider cancelling all showings today, and that the sellers were hoping to get over ask (side note - I hate the games people play with real estate, just freaking list the lowest price you'd accept and let people go up from there if they think it's worth more).
We were on pins and needles all night but didn't hear from them until 1p today & that they'd have a decision by 3. We then didn't hear until 4 (annoying, I'm the type to stare at my phone waiting for the realtor at exactly 3:01). They countered our original offer saying they liked our terms but had higher offers, if we could go up $10k we'd be the strongest. We took a bit to consider as this was already near the top of our price range but decided to match their counter, and had high hopes based on the comments from our agent.
We just found out that they went with another offer anyway. It's super frustrating and demoralizing to spend so much time and emotional energy, do exactly what the sellers ask (and get our hopes up) just to be told no anyway. Back to the Zillow search I guess.

We moved in together and got married within the last couple of months. I was taking care of 90% of the household chores which i was okay with considering i was working less hours than him at the time.
I work two jobs. One job is part-time, i pick up hours whenever i can throughout the month and am required a certain amount of hours in order to keep my part-time position. My other job is my main source of income. With this job, i work for weeks at a time. Depending on where i am located for this job, i do not get any days off for 30+ days. Right now, i have been working 12 hours a day, for the last 43 days, on night shifts. As you can imagine, i am tired most days when i come home and do not have a lot of time/energy throughout the week to do all of the household chores.
I have been yelled at to do the dishes, laundry, and other chores around the house. He has not said one positive thing to me in the last month. Complains about everything under the sun. Yells at me because i sleep for 8 hours a day and intentionally wakes me up through the day while i am sleeping. He says he misses me but when i get up and have time to be with him, he leaves to go hang out with friends. He recently told me i am not allowed to work in my field anymore and if i love him i will no longer how anymore.
He said he is lonely and tells me i feel like a roommate, not a wife. He said if he knew how life was going to be like after marriage, he wouldn’t have married me. He cannot handle taking care of only himself, for 40+ days. I said “if you can’t take care of only yourself for the last month plus, how would you take care of 2+ people if end up having kids?”. He just started rambling and yelling about how i don’t care about him.
I have began to resent him more and more each day. I am trying to be positive but i don’t think i can do this anymore. I love him but i don’t think i’m in love with him anymore.
i just need some advice 😞

Myself, her and her friend were at a house party after going the pub. Her friend ushered me to leave with them and then on the way asked where I was going when they got home, to which I replied home I guess.
I didn’t pay for that Uber so my dumbass got out a few seconds after them and followed to the door which they had closed by then. I then knocked thinking I could maybe wait for the next Uber to get back home and they didn’t answer.
I messaged a little later saying sorry didn’t mean to weird you out just wanted to wait for the next Uber, she didn’t reply and now I feel like a creep.
Dunno what I was thinking to be honest I was just drunk and being a bit slow and now I’ve made myself look like a weirdo. Not sure what to say when I inevitably see either of them next at the pub, or if I should just say nothing and play it cool.
For extra context, I didn’t know these girls before that night but I’ve seen them in my local pub before so I’m sure I’ll see them again.
Any advice to avoid making myself look even weirder?

Left a place and discovered it had bedbugs. That was the weekend of may 12-14 ish. Haven't seen any signs at home so far. Did all the bedding in dryer. Left suitcases in garage after spraying with bug spray. I keep checking mattresses for signs. No one has any bites. When will I see signs if any? I can't stop worrying

Long story short, I work in retail management. I bought a TT Side Click Titanium about 90 days ago. I left my pen unattended for about 2 minutes last week. A non-regular customer walked off with it. Haven’t seen him since. Little hope for it to ever return.
I know I shouldn’t have left it on the counter. Lesson learned.
My question is this: I LOVED that TT Side Click. Everything about it. They are having a 15% off sale right now. I would like to buy another one. I am going back and forth between the Copper and Titanium side click pens from TT.
My question is this: Is there anything better for $85 I should consider? I like the TT brand, being made in the USA and by a small company. Any other brand recommendations?

Well, it finally happened. The very tough and shameful lesson that is learned after taking a bad fall without wearing a helmet. Let me start by saving you all the trouble of telling me that I am an idiot and thats what I get for not wearing a helmet. I am fully aware that I don't deserve sympathy, nor am I asking for it, because EVERYBODY knows that helmets are a necessity.
I put bout 1500 miles on my Pint last year and I have about 250 on my Pint X this year. Of course I have taken a few spills throughout those miles but never any head contact. They were painful, they sucked, and they were embarrassing but they only led to some cuts and bruises. Fast forward to May 14th 2023, AKA mothers day this year. All I remember is that I went for a sunset ride around 8pm and the next memory I have is waking up in the ER wearing a hospital gown, extremely confused at what was going on.
Once awake, I was promptly greeted by a kind nurse that didn't even wait for me to ask what was happening, instead she said hello and informed me that I was found unconscious in the middle of the road last night, fractured my skull, and had a brain bleed that was worsening. They also had a tight neck brace on me because they were unsure about fractured vertebrae. On day 4 I was allowed to remove the neck brace and I was transferred from the ER to the ICU. After three days in the ICU, the medical team determined my brain bleeding was not increasing and they felt comfortable discharging me that Sunday, a week after the accident. Sunday came around and I was very excited to get out of the robe, put on my own clothes, return home, and see my dog. This is great news right? Right! Well...unfortunately, when I was unconscious and being rushed to the hospital, the EMT's had cut my shirt off. As if I was not already feeling the shame of a non-helmet wearing injury, I got to catch an uber home wearing jeans and a hospital robe as my shirt.
The post-accident/hospital part of this has been far less exciting. I missed another week of work after being discharged. Most days I felt like I was underwater for half the day and I got the spins every time I would bend down, stand up, roll over in bed, etc. Anti-seizure pills for a couple days. Confusion and short-term memory problems. Having to explain to all the concerned friends and family what had happened with each response being either "what were you doing riding without a helmet!?" or "time for you to give up that onewheel!"
So here I am, a 31 year old lawyer with a couple weeks of brain bleeding, intense waves of dizziness and pain, a constant throbbing that changed positions in my head every hour or so, two weeks of missed pay, and likely a soon to be ambulance/hospital bill.
If you read my whole post then I have to say thank you and I appreciate you hearing me out. If you skipped all that then I at least hope you read this:
Do not be like me. Do not ruin an amazingly joyous hobby for yourself. Riding without a helmet does not increase the joy, nor does it make you look cooler...it just shows the world that you lack common sense. I must have read a dozen stories of people that have died or sustained life-long brain damage from a fall without a helmet yet for some reason I was convinced that it would never happen to me. Astonishingly... I was wrong. False-confidence is a very dangerous thing to rely on.
Do not be like me. Head injuries suck. They are not like other injuries you may have experienced. They are scary, confusing, and almost always require immediate and serious medical treatment. Do not jeopardize your future or your dreams, don't take your chances with permanent brain damage. Don't risk losing enthusiasm for what used to be your favorite activity.
I can't go back in time and I don't get a do-over, so now all I can do is pray that the worst is over and I didn't cause any permanent damage. The fantastic take away from my sob story is that whoever (if anyone) is reading this - you won't ever need to be hospitalized, full of regret and wishing for a time machine. Please do not be like me, just wear a helmet.

I need some advice on a mobile home issue. My wife and I bought a mobile home in March 2021 and sold it in February 2023 through different mom and pop agents when buying and selling. The seller financed us when we bought it. On June 1st, the agent who helped us sell it called us and said that the new owners received a delinquency notice for $755 in taxes. He insisted that we should pay it right away. I was confused and decided to check with the county. It turned out that the taxes were for 2020, 2021 and 2022, but we didn't own the mobile home in 2020. Moreover, the county never had our names as the owners. We only got some tax bills in the previous owner's name for a few months then they stopped. We thought since it was seller financed it was like rent to own so didnt worry about taxes. I will go to county tax office to confurm this before any panyments are made.
We are willing to pay for 2021 and 2022, but we don't think we should pay for 2020. Also, the county won't accept partial payments, dont want to send the new onwer the money as well. Any ideas What should we do?

My folks (67 and 72) live in Onondaga County and need major repairs done on their home, including furnace replacement, plumbing, rewiring of electric, and structural work. My father is retired, and both parents still work part time to make ends meet. My father believes that their meager monthly income is just above the upper limit of allowable income for the specific HEAP program that offers grants for furnace replacement, but I need to run the numbers with him. I'm looking for any other resources that might help them get any of these tasks paid for. I've scoured the Onondaga and NYS HCR websites, but only have a few leads. Thanks for any recommendations.

I'm newly on my fitness journey and after years of working from home and barely going out, I'd love to see if I can get involved with open water swimming as a beginner to get outside, experience nature, and maybe (gasp) make new friends.
I know there's challenges that come with it, especially as my days of dolphining about the Atlantic in Florida as a kid seem very far removed from my adulthood in Boston.

Beginning/opening - Mid Game:
Starts right where the first game left off. We see the conversation and where Joel continues his lie to Ellie. This will help emphasise the importance this will have later on.
The game will start off slow paced, Joel and Ellie reaching Jackson and will begin establishing where the characters stand with each other (notably Joel, Tommy and Ellie)
The flashbacks with the dinosaur etc will all take place in chronological order from this point. I think this will help get players into the game and feel right at home again. This won’t be long, about the same time as the flashbacks were in the original game.
At some point they run into an infection zone and they fight to survive, but Ben getting close to being overrun, they are rescued by a group with a girl… I think you can imagine who this is. Joel being Joel doesn’t trust them, thanks them and they move on with what they were doing.
At this point, we will have a pov change and will be controlling young Abby and we are now heading back to camp (Abby having no idea who they just saved) this is where the player will do the things young Abby did in the original game, I’d even add one flashback when she sees something that reminds her of the death of her father. This will continue until she is older, she is trying to move on from her loss but she constantly wants revenge. Abby not able to put a face to her fathers killer is what angers her the most
During this there will be a raider group that is threatening the base and they have to evacuate, crazy sequence and stuff occurs, can’t be bothered to go into further detail, just fill in the blanks. This is where the survivors now begin to look for another place to set up refuge, a few members suggest a place at Jackson that has gained a reputation for fresh starts and being hospitable to outsiders.
This is where we flash back to Ellie and we now start to see Ellie and Joel’s relationship strained for a part of the game. All the action, arguments etc etc will take place her, but they will be older now as chronologically we followed Abby. (So instead of so many flashbacks, I’d want it to follow Abby for us to then get ti the older versions of Joel And Ellie)
A few weeks have passed during these events between Joel and Ellie and they are no longer on speaking terms. We now control Joel as Ellie walks away, this is where we hear Tommy letting in some people, one of which is Abby. This is where Joel and Abby talk. They are introduced to each other and shake hands. Tommy mentions that she will love Ellie and that she is very welcoming to guests “unlike my brother here” this is where Abby connects the dots and realises she is staring at the man that killed her father.
She controls her rage and walks away without a word, this makes Tommy and Joel question if she knows them. Tommy dismisses it and says she will come around “they always do”
Tommy runs to her and suggests that the next day she shouts go on patrol with him and Joel to see how they get things done around here and get to know each other more. Abby begrudgingly agrees and is taken to her new accommodation, she speaks to her friends and tells them what she knows and they are all skeptical as they have helped them and can’t believe they would be involved in what Abby is accusing them off. After much debate, they finally agree that they will take “them” down tomorrow on patrol
We now see a cutscene where Tommy’s wife asks to speak to Ellie. She asks Ellie about what’s going on between her and Joel. After a conversation, they both agree to sneak out tomorrow to take their minds off everything.
Come the next day, we are in control of Abby and one of her friends notches say that they saw Ellie and another woman leave just before they did. Two of them go after them. Abby and 3 of her other friends meet Joel and Tommy and they go out and they talk and have banter etc. all the while there are little hints that something is quite right. Joel says he’s going to check something out, the rest enter a building with Tommy. After a little chat, Tommy tackles one of them and just as Abby and the other friend pulls a gun, we hear Joel behind them “I wouldn’t do that if I was you, out the guns down. Who the hell are you people?”
Abby puts her hands up and tells Joel what he did to her. Joel and Abby end up on a big argument over Ellie and why both of them feel justified in their actions.
During this, Tommy says to Joel that he needs to shut up and look out the window. Outside is Tommy’s wife and Ellie held at gun point. They caught them and followed them to the house.
Joel now must make a choice whether to kill them and sacrifice Ellie or to allow himself to die. He is truly put to the test with Ellie’s life again. He drops the gun and chooses Ellie’s life again. Ellie is begging them not to. Joel just smiles at Ellie with tears running down his face. Abby shoots in twice in the head.
They now leave and now we are playing as Ellie and will seek revenge.
This is what I’ve come up with so far, I’ve never wrote anything like this and it’s probably terrible. Give me all the abuse you want. I just wrote it out of passion. My mains goal is to write it on a way Tarantino writes his characters, give them a scenario and imagine how the character would act in that scenario.

Hear me out. I’ve heard manifestation techniques work differently for different people. When I reflect and think about the different times I’ve manifested something.. the common denominator is always a picture!
Example 1: Vision Board/ LoAttraction/Assumption I‘ve only done 1 beauty pageant and I actually ended up winning the Miss Teen title! I unknowingly manifested this by sneakily taking a picture with my friend (she was competing for the Miss title not the Miss Teen title) and we were both wearing our corresponding crowns and sashes. Nobody else got to do this because we did it in secret. We also always talked about how fun it was going to be when we finally become pageant sisters after winning the pageant as though it had been predetermined when it wasn’t. When I got home after we both won the pageant, I saw the picture of us wearing the crown and sash on my fridge and realized we manifested it.
Example 2: “Vision Board”/LoDetachment I was looking online for a college shirt I really wanted and took a screenshot of the shirt so I could look for it in person/campus store. I searched but never found it even after visiting a few times. I had no idea it was the exact same shirt until yesterday when I was looking through my camera roll and found the screenshot of the shirt and then looked through my clothes to find I had bought that exact shirt months later.

“Reality,” a new movie starring Sydney Sweeney, is largely set in one empty room. There is nothing on the walls. There are no chairs or rugs, just a stark and ugly room in a nondescript rental property in a downtrodden neighborhood. Its script is as minimalistic – lifted directly from the transcript of one long conversation between two FBI agents and a young woman they suspect has leaked classified documents. The dialogue has all the ums and ahs, botched sentences and awkward small talk one might expect from actual human beings, not slickly intelligent Aaron Sorkin creations. And it’s one of the most tense and exciting films of the year.It’s based on the actual FBI interrogation of the unbelievably named Reality Winner, a former Air Force translator who worked as a contractor at a National Security Agency office in Augusta, Ga. One day in May 2017, she printed a classified report, tucked it into her pantyhose, walked out of the office and mailed it to an online news outlet. The next month, the FBI was at her door to interrogate her. The film starts as she pulls up into her driveway, an agent knocks on her car window and starts the recording on his handheld device.
There is a dread to the whole endeavor from the first shot, even if you don’t remember how this story played out in the news. Though it takes some time for Agent Taylor (Marchánt Davis) and Agent Garrick (Josh Hamilton) to get to the real questions, the real reason why they’re there, the small stresses and indignities start to build. Reality (Sweeney) has come home with a car full of groceries. She has a cat in the house and a dog, a rescue who doesn’t like men. Her life has been put on pause and there’s nothing she can do about it. The agents tell her they have a search warrant for her home and her car and promptly tape off her modest yard with “crime scene” ribbon, take her phone and force her to stay outside as they search. She’s worried about the perishables, her cat escaping through the open door and her dog scaring people. Meanwhile, one of the agents is asking about her CrossFit routine and her life as a single person in Augusta.
