2023.03.22 23:38 Gatronix LF: Multiple Great Tusks and Flutter Manes FT: Various items, Violet exclusives, shiny Paldea Wooper
Looking for about 5 Great Tusks and Flutter Manes for use in VGC (and one each for my living dex)! I can offer a bunch of items including things like ability capsules, bottle caps (including gold), mints, PP Ups, etc. and also any Violet exclusive items (malicious armor) and Pokemon. I'm happy to negotiate how much to give in exchange for the paradox guys.
Also, if anyone happens to have a 0 Attack IV Flutter Mane (reads 'No Good' when using the Judge feature in boxes) I can offer a shiny Paldean Wooper! They were caught by me (OT: Oscar, ID: 82398) using sandwich boosts, and I have ones caught in a Pokeball, a Premier Ball, a Dive Ball and a Luxury Ball. I'm happy to trade any of these guys for a 0 atk Flutter Mane! :)
Also worth noting that you need the right flair to do the trade for shiny Wooper. (pokeball or higher)

2023.03.22 23:18 ahmralas Would a WWE-AEW Forbidden Door show sell out a stadium on back to back nights?
Letâs ignore the improbability of it all and just assume that the world somehow broke and the two big guys agreed to a crossover show, how big would a show like that be? Would it be as big as the average Big 4 WWE PPV? Bigger? Could it sell out for 2 nights in a stadium? Assuming all the biggest stars from both companies appear of course.
Letâs say the card is headlined by matches like these:
CM Punk vs John Cena
Shield Triple Threat
Cody Rhodes vs Bryan Danielson
Kenny Omega vs Logan Paul
MJF vs Kevin Owens
Orange Cassidy vs Sami Zayn
The Young Bucks vs The Usos vs FTR
Charlotte Flair vs Jade Cargill

2023.03.22 23:14 macpurple24 Debating between Cap1 & Chase cards and need some help!
I'm looking at getting my first travel credit card. Currently, I'm currently between the Capital One Venture (not interested in the Venture X just yet) and the Chase Sapphire Preferred. Most, if not all my travel plans are domestic this year.
I love the Capital One ecosystem and use the SavorOne card for everything. Dining and groceries are by far my biggest spending categories so the 3x is clutch. Pairing my Savor with a Venture would definitely earn me the most points in general. But they do not have the best domestic transfer partners which is why I am considering Chase.
I have a the Chase Freedom Unlimited but rarely use it, due to the Savor being a better everyday card for me right now. I know the Sapphire Preferred is a more popular card but I don't like online grocery shopping (I love shopping in store). So my points earned but would be lower compared to Cap1.
I essentially have two questions:
- Are Chase points UR worth enough even if I am not earning as much points as I would with Cap1?
- My top airline is Alaska but like Southwest. I know that British Airways is a transfer partner for both banks and they are a OneWorld partner with Alaska. Has anyone had any good success with booking Alaska Airlines flights with Avios points transferred from Capital One and/or Chase?

2023.03.22 23:10 endersgame69 Helluva Boss: How Loona Met Blitzo
AN: A little one shot I did that I thought I'd share with y'all, did it yesterday after a brief moment of inspiration. If you're not familiar with the youtube series 'Helluva Boss' watch it.
âAlright you worthless pack of crotch goblin crack babies, pump and dump leftovers, andâŚFloridians. Get your asses out of your cardboard boxes and over to the windows and go to the showroom to see whatever factory, brothel, rich prick or bored housefrau are looking for cheap labor or decorations. And put on a good show or Satan help you thereâll be no sawdust in your dinner tonight!â The obese demonâs mouth dropped open as low as his chest as he leaned into the door to shout, acidic spittle flew past his red lips and added fresh holes to the cardboard box that served as Loonaâs âspaceâ.
She still had it out of habit, but the early days when the boxes lined the walls and it was the only way anyone could sleep without crowding everyone else⌠those were over.
Now she was the last one left, but the burly demon who finished his words with a loud âbraaapâ that smelled like beer to her sharp nose, didnât even know that much. The last batch of orphans were gone already.
Whether they went to good homes or not was hardly a question. âItâs hell. Thereâs no good homes here unless youâre rich.â But between the orphanage sheâd spent her life in and the lives they were going to, the hellhound had no idea whether they were better off or not. Some yes, some no.
She had a private game she played with herself, guessing the lives the ones who were chosen were leaving for. Last nightâs batch went with an owl demon family in fancy clothes, the oldest of them was stooped with age, but whether that meant he was actually old or if heâd come down to hell looking that way, or even been born that way⌠who knew? But the little owl family had a very small boy who was pointing at the line.
While the younger ones danced, did tricks, and answered questions and tried to impress the parents and the boy who pointed at them one by one, she did not.
âAnd you? What is your name?â The demon-wife asked, and Loona shrugged.
âLoona.â She replied.
âDaaaaad, the mongrelâs not doing anything!â The small one complained and tapped the glass like he was trying to rile up an animal exhibit.
âAh yes, ah, what do you do?â The husband asked, he leaned forward a little, his eyes wide and yellow, she might have thought he wasnât bad looking as older guys went, were it not for the fact that he was a little stooped.
It was fairly obvious that the younger woman had married up in status.
Loona bared her teeth and jumped toward the glass, her palms slapped against it, and the small well dressed boy fell backward. âI eat little boy demons in their sleep and fuck their daddies to give them a kid thatâs actually theirs!â
The young one began to wail, his keening noise was bad enough that she almostâŚalmost felt bad.
âYou bitch!â The younger woman shrieked and pounded on the glass, but it was built to withstand exactly this.
So it held.
Loona straightened up, looked the stunned, disbelieving older demon in the eyes, had he not been caught so off guard, he might have said something, but his shock was her chance. Loona took a few sniffs, âYeah, heâs not your kid dude, sheâs cheating on you. I can tell. Oh and,â she moved in front of the trophy wife and took another sniff from the other side of the glass, inhaling through the little holes through which their words passed, âshe was with someone last night. Know where she was, or were you watching? If thatâs your thing dude, whatever.â She tapped her nose and winked at the old demon, and fire erupted around the woman that turned the ceiling black.
âWeâll take all of them but that one!â The wife screeched. âLet her rot here by herself!â
Loona shrugged and walked away from the wailing at the glass and took her place in line with the last half dozen of small demon children. They ranged from six to eleven, and as such they still had hopes. It made her dismissal and behavior all the more outlandish and impossible in their eyes. Whether they were hellhounds or imps or something else among the lower class demons, they, at least, were still too young to have given up yet.
When reality hit home for the small ones, they erupted in cheers. The older male began sputtering, he was moving away from the glass, looking from wife to child⌠she grabbed and yanked the boy up into her arms and overrode him, âWe wanted a playmate for Loris and now weâve got a bunch of them.â
âBut honeybunch, thatâs more than we intended-â He protested as she guided him toward the door and away from the wall.
âSo weâll make one a playmate for Loris and the others can just clean up their shit. Whatever, letâs go! I need to meet my tennis coach later!â She snapped at the older demon, and out of the corner of her eye, she caught a glimmer of understanding in his eyes.
She might never know for sure, but one thing she was certain of, âWhen it hits home, he wonât be having a conversation with her.â
So being left alone was almost worth it.
That had been the other day, all they had to do to close the building down now was for her to be gone, then it could be sold, and the fat bastard could retire wherever all the other rich fat fucks went when the other institutions had shut down after a buyout.
Seeing her alone now, the fat bastard seemed to slowly recall the incident from the other day.
âAnd if one of these donât take you, youâre cleaning up that ceiling unless you want your bowl taken away too!â He bellowed at her, and she nodded.
Life there was one of trying to minimize the unfortunate things. There was no real avoiding them, but they could be minimized with a little cooperation. Donât say anything when they give you food. Donât ask for more. Donât encourage any of the kids to run, and donât hold back any money if youâre put to work at something.
Those would minimize the slaps and deny them the excuses for the more humiliating punishments, like making hellhounds eat like actual dogs.
That was worse than the occasional slap.
So she sighed and trudged to the far end of the room, opened the door, slammed it behind her, and went to stand in front of the glass. âName is Loona and Iâm here because I bit off my motherâs tit when I was a baby.â It was a lie, probably, though the truth is she didnât know. Even the orphanage itself didnât know what, if anything, happened to her parents.
For all she knew, theyâd been killed off in a power struggle after a purge.
And since there was no way to know? She didnât care, and just made up stories for shock value or intimidation. âIâm seventeen. I wonât call you dad. I wonât sleep with you. Iâm lazy, and Iâll take off as soon as Iâm an adult. Sound good? No? Great. Get the fuck out.â She didnât even look at the glass or see who was there.
It didnât matter anyway.
She slumped, her tail and ears drooped, and when the next one came in. âLoona. Seventeen. And Iâm here because I wouldnât stop shitting on everything. I donât plan to either. Sound good? No. Fuck off.â
âLoona. Seventeen. Cut off my dadâs balls when he tried to pimp me out. Sound good? No? Fuck off.â
âLoona. Seventeen. Kept stealing from my dadâs business to buy drugs. Got any nice easily pawnable stuff at home?â She asked. That one left before she could even tell them to fuck off.
That was how it went, unusually enough, there were more of them than she expected. âFatass must have put out fliers or something.â She thought. It was hard to picture him doing any work but⌠he had to have done âsomethingâ around the building.
âThatâs it for now, get your ass over there and scrub the fuckin ceiling, mongrel!â He shouted from whatever room heâd sequestered himself in.
It wasnât lost on her that he knew she hadnât been picked. And probably he figured sheâd sabotaged it too.
âNo good lousy, lazy, sack of shitâŚâ She mumbled and groused as she stomped to the supply closet, filled the bucket with boiling water, the noise of it echoed in the small confined space like thunder. The steady rise of water was like a clock ticking away the seconds before she could leave this place and die a proper death in some pointless street brawl.
She dumped the foul chemicals into the water, it burned her nose to smell it, but there was no avoiding that much. If she wanted food, sheâd have to obey, and her belly was already starting to rumble. Even the sawdust used to thicken out the gruel would have tasted pretty good right about then.
She wheeled the cheap metal bucket out along with the mop and watched the wheels wiggle around on the floor until she brought it to a stop on the other side of the glass.
Loona soaked the mop, strained it to leave it damp, and then held it overhead, clenching her jaw as the burning liquid dripped down into her fur, the foul smell made her gag as it filled the confined space of the narrow hall. The soot on the roof from the cuckâs wife would not come out easy.
But if she worked at it⌠well, it wasnât her first time. She went about it with practiced ease.
Nasty as it was, the mindless task at least let her turn off her brain, which she did, and that was also why the high pitched voice caught her by surprise⌠along with the fact that the chemicals had utterly ruined her nose for the time being.
âHello there, fuckface, listen I found a flier here about a going out of business bargain on orphans, and I came to get a look so who do I have to fuck around here to get a look at some kids?!â Loona whirled around to glare at the one to speak to her, and found herself face to face with a fairly tall, slender imp with curled horns in a black and white pattern, clad in a black coat and with sharp yellow eyes.
He raised one long finger, âThat came out wrong.â He said, and then without missing a beat, he grabbed the lining of his coat with his left hand and thrust out his right toward Loona. âHi, Iâm Blitz the O is silent, nice to meet you, now where are the little rapscallions?â
Loona ignored the hand and put her mop back down in the bucket. It took her a moment to realize, âOh, he thinks I work here!â It was too good a chance to miss.
Sheâd never been on the âotherâ side of the glass in a situation like this⌠so she gingerly extended a hand while she built up her story. âHi, yeah if youâre interested, thereâs one left. But sheâs an evil bitch.â
âPerfect.â He said.
âAnd sheâs old. Like I guess you could probably fuck her, but also sheâd probably kill you. Sheâs crazy like that, total murder hobo, got here by killing both her parents.â
âMeh, no diapers no problem, and I donât fuck kids and I donât mind the killing.â He gave a bright, almost clownish smile and thrust his hand into his coat to pull out a business card.
Loona took it in between her fingers and read it. âIMP?â She asked.
âYes! My own business. We go up to the living world and kill anyone who needs killing. So a killer kid, well, that just means theyâve had practice.â His big grin was almost off putting, but it was also oddly âendearingâ like he was used to putting on a performance for people and knew how to get their attention.
âOh, so you want an employee. Well the last one is lazy, like actual garbage. Sheâs been here for seventeen years and wonât even do more than fuck with people who come in.â She handed the card back and leaned on the mop. âSheâs just the absolute worst.â
âOh thatâs no problem, fucking with people is half my job. And besides, I donât want an employee, I wantâŚâ He stopped, his mouth clamped shut.
âNever mind.â He said. âCan I see the kid or not?â
âNo. Sorry, you have to say what you want them for, it goes on the form. We really donât care. Nobody who works here gives a shit, but if we donât submit a reason, weâll get in trouble. You could just want someone to smuggle drugs up their ass, and as long as the form is filled out, nobody cares whatâs on it.â She snorted, that wasnât even a lie.
âFine. Itâs that. I need an anal coke mule.â Blitzo said, but it was the most obvious lie Loona had ever heard, he was also far more subdued than when he first came in.
She snorted, âNo, itâs not, I just made that up. Now go on, whatâs the real reason you want to adopt a seventeen year old lazy good-for-nothing killer that nobody has even given a second glance at one single time in seventeen years of her worthless, disappointing, trashy existence, Mr. Blitz the O is Silent?â She put his name in air quotes and stared at the slender imp, and finally he exhaled.
âFine. You really want to know?â He asked and went to look into the empty room where Loona should have been on display. âIâve got these employees, Moxie and Millie, theyâre my hitters. Theyâve got a great marriage. A great life. I see them every single day, and the thing is, I know that if they left my business, theyâd go off andâŚbe just fine. They donât need me.â
âNobody needs me. Iâm probably one of the only imps in hell to have his own business. I know Iâm the only imp with access to the living world. I can do what nobody else can do. But sooner or later Iâll probably die, either a client, or a job, or a purge. And even though I can do what nobody else can do, letâs be real. These fuckin idiots out there who hire us are a few horns short of a demon. Pretty much anybody they want to kill for revenge is probably going to come down here anyway, and if they werenât, all we did was send their target to those prude fucks up in heaven for a few extra eternal years of bliss. Even so, the money is pretty fuckân good. And I like doing stuff Iâm good at.â He chuckled, âBut then what? Who do I give it to? So I thought⌠maybeâŚâ His bright yellow eyes grew large as he pressed them against the window.
âMaybe if I had a kid, I could teach them stuff, get them really good at killing, running a business, and pass it on to them.â Blitzo answered and then his voice grew hard, âBesides, someone like what you say⌠yeah, I get that. Being an imp is not a whole lot better than being an orphan.â
âWhat do you know about it?â She snapped at him, her tail bristled.
âI used to be a circus performer, long time ago. Making people laugh who didnât give a fuck if I lived or died. So yeah, I know about putting on shows for assholes.â Blitzo said and crossed his arms as if daring her to argue the point.
Her stomach rumbled, interrupting her thoughts.
âWhat am I keeping you from lunch or something?â Blitzo asked.
âNah. Iâll eat tonight.â Loona answered and then asked, âSo, if you did get this kid, would you⌠pay her?â She asked.
âWell yeah, if sheâs working there sheâs gonna get a salary even if sheâs my kid. I have standards⌠not high ones but still!â He exclaimed.
âItâs not an imp.â She said, âNobody will buy that you actually got laid.â
Blitzo snorted, âHey, I have- no thatâs not the point!â He stopped himself and then retorted, âListen if the kid doesnât want me, thatâs up to them, fine, but whatâs with all the stalling.â
âSo, like, yeah, you know sheâs not going to call you dad or anything, right?â Loona prompted, âSheâs almost grown up.â
âWell⌠maybe not. But maybe? When she sees Iâm trying to be the best dad ever!â Blitzo answered and slapped his chest with one hand, âIâll have you know I can be very nurturing and very patient. If she wants to call me by my first name, well, thatâs alright.â
âAnd if maybe, she say, wouldnât go with you unless you helped her punish the place that spent the last seventeen years making her hate the fact that she existedâŚ?â Loona looked the imp up and down, he was definitely taller than the average imp, at least a third as much so. Not as tall as she was, but he loomed over the other imps sheâd seen.
âWell, that just sounds like a fun first daddy-daughter activity. Why, itâs more wholesome than the rainbow shit of an angel.â Blitzo said with pride, and Loona couldnât resist a short laugh.
âReally, Blitz the O is silent?â Loona asked and cocked her head.
âReally, really.â Blitzo answered, preening with pride, âA good dad looks after his kid, and he punishes the ones that hurt them.â
âAlright then, Iâll⌠go get her.â Loonaâs heart pounded her chest when she recognized her own words.
She dropped the mop and disappeared around the corner. She passed through the common area, and saw her cardboard box lying there in the middle, she kicked it aside and watched it crumple against the wall.
Then after taking one long breath, she opened the door and stepped into the showroom.
Blitzo blinked when he saw her come in.
âMy name is Loona. Iâm seventeen years old. I donât know how I got here. Where my parents are, if theyâre alive, dead, or what. I donât know whether they wanted me, or whether I was garbage they threw away the moment I was born. Iâve been through a lot of these showings. Sometimes a half a dozen a day, watched one kid after another picked. And, honestly, if you walk out that door too, Iâm pretty sure that I wonât leave here until Iâm eighteen. You might really be my last shot at⌠I donât even know what anymore. So if you do leave, I guess Iâll never know. And Iâm ready for that. But⌠if all that stuff you said wasnât bullshit, I can at least promise I wonât run away.â
She raised her head, âIâve got nowhere to run to anyway. I guess weâve got that much in common, huh?â
âYeah. I guess we do.â Blitzo answered from the other side of the glass.
A loud âbraaaapâ echoed from another room. âHey mongrel, you get that ceiling clean or are you going to be eating scraps off the floor again?!â
Loonaâs belly rumbled again, and Blitzo put two and two together very quickly.
âI gotta fill out some paperwork real quick, you wait there, yeah?â He said and stepped away from the glass.
Loona nodded.
She didnât move a step while she listened to the crashing and screaming from another room. âWe. Are trying. To have. A moment here, you asshole!â The crashing was followed by a single scream.
There was nothing, or, not much for a bit. Just the sound of scribbling that even Loonaâs keen ears could barely detect.
And then the sound of a closing door as Blitzo returned. He held up a golden paper which read âCertificate of Adoptionâ on it.
Loona read it over and over. It didnât seem real, but her face never changed. She left, came around the corner, and winced a little as he squeezed her into a hug that took up both of her arms, the certificate in hand, a phone in the other, and then snapped a picture of the two of them together.
âSo⌠now what, Blitz the O is silent?â She asked when the hug broke.
âNow you first cut the shit, itâs Blitz-O, I just go by Blitz.â He said and put his hands on his hips. âOr,â his bright smile returned and his yellow eyes sparkled like amber in the light, âyou can call me daddy⌠no, no that shit is creepy, just âdadâ.â
âBlitz it is, then.â She retorted and stepped a little away from him.
âAlright then, so Iâll just drop this in the mail on the way out and we can step out and go shopping.â Blitzo answered and began sealing the certificate up into an envelope heâd taken from the office/scene of the severe beating.
âShopping, for what?â Loona asked and raised an eyebrow. She let out a groan, âItâs not for some shitty ribbons or matching shirts or anything is it?â
âNo, no, no no no, no⌠maybe later, but no. This is to buy some gas and alcohol to douse this place in so we can burn it to the ground. Iâll betcha fatso in there will go up like a roman fuckin candle when the fire reaches him. But also you can grab lunch, order whatever you want.â He laughed and rubbed his hands together.
Loona almost didnât believe it. But then⌠not an hour and a half later, they were back in the building dousing it with cans of foul smelling fuel between taking shots of liquor⌠and she could still hear him groaning in the office. Her stomach was no longer growling.
âOne second, Blitz.â She said when he stood at the door holding a match and ready to strike the flame.
Loona went to the office of her lifelong tormenter, his tendons were cut, his face was a ruin of its former self, his guts were opened and organs tied in knots in various places. Even if she did nothing, odds were he was not going to survive.
But it would take a good long time for him to die too.
âHey, shitbag.â She said and got his head to waver as he tried to look in her direction.
âI wanted to tell you three things. The ceiling will be clean pretty soon⌠at least, itâs all going to match by the time the fire dies down, and thatâs clean enough. Second, I had a nice lunch while you were stuck here. And thirdâŚI guess I might have a pretty good dad.â
She then slammed the door as his arm, which she noticed was shattered in a few places, was slowly raised as if he was expecting her to help him.
Loona then returned to the exit where Blitzo waited with the match still up. âCan I light it?â She asked as she stepped outside.
âWill you call me dad?â He asked and fluttered his eyes at her.
âNo.â She replied.
âAlright, here you go anyway.â He said and added, âMake dad proud.â He grinned and watched her strike the match, the little flame hovered like the sun in front of her eyes, and then she gave it a gentle toss. It landed on the floor, the fuel caught, the flames roared, and true to her word, the ceiling matched in seconds, the darkness, smoke, and burning spreading all over the building.
There was a brief few seconds of screaming from the office.
But then there was nothing but the roar of flames.
âSo⌠Now what, Blitz?â Loona asked.
âNow, we go home.â Blitzo answered, âLet me show you where it is.â
And with that, she walked beside him without a backward glance while the building fell to ruin behind her.

2023.03.22 23:10 ganziale why did I lose?
2023.03.22 23:08 purplewigg [Broadway] Sara Porkalob vs 1776: is it okay to only put 75% into your job, or should you be running at 100% all the time? And what does any of this have to do with etiquette, toxicity, and racism anyway?
(coughs awkwardly) ⌠quiet week, huh?
So I donât have any opinion polls to back this up, but Iâm going to go out on a limb and assume that the vast majority of yâall are at least
vaguely familiar with Hamilton, voluntarily or otherwise. Iâm also going to assume that most of you are familiar with the trend of unexpected cultural phenomena being followed by a wave of imitators hoping to ride the coattails to success. Old Town Road blew up on the clock app, now record labels are judging songs for TikTok memeability. Twilight mania saw everyone and their dog rushing out YA adaptations. Blue space people Avatar was followed by 5 years of unnecessary 3D releases.
Hamilmania was no exception, which brings us to the
Roundabout Theatre Company. Presumably with cartoonish dollar signs in their eyes, they asked themselves âhow can we get in on the action?â Eventually, they settled on a solution: dust off the book for
1776, a musical from the 1960s which
also happens to be set in the American Revolution and give it the olâ Hamilton treatment. The idea was simple: take this musical about a bunch of long-dead rich old white guys, replace them with a racially-diverse cast of female/non-binary/trans performers, remix the songs ever so slightly and watch the critical praise roll in. Co-directors Diana Paulus and Jeffrey Page got to work in early 2020, which needless to say complicated things a little bit. But after many delays, the revival
finally premiered on Broadway in September 2022⌠to mixed reviews.
One area that was
not up for critique however were the performances themselves. Many critics were especially generous to
Sara Porkalob, a Filipina-American woman who was specifically headhunted by Diana Paulus to play the role of a pro-slavery white supremacist. As far as I can tell, she wasnât really a part of the Broadway establishment, instead coming up from the Seattle indie theatre scene, which from what I gather is pretty insular. Is this relevant for later? Probably. Anyway, before all of
(gestures at the rest of the writeup), she was best known for writing and performing a
critically acclaimed one-woman show about her relationship with her mother. Yâknow, the type of thing performed at the back of a smokey bar with a single bongo in front of a crowd of beatniks (okay so thatâs not how it went down but I love the mental image).
Sit Down, John Sara - the interview that kickstarted it all
About a month into the run,
she gave an interview with Vulture discussing her role and what itâs like being an Asian woman playing a slave-owning, unabashedly pro-slavery white man. Most of itâs pretty standard interview fare: behind the scenes stories, praise for her castmates, that sort of thing. Pretty quickly though, Sara started critiquing the Broadway establishment and how it was out-of-touch with the changing audienceâŚ
âInstitutions often think that you need to investigate everything before you can start to restructure, but thatâs not true. Theyâre afraid to make changes (...) Institutions are always making these five-year fucking plans and being like, Weâre gonna make it with a consultant and weâll share it later. Then they share it with the community after two years and now the community doesnât care about the institution anymoreâ
⌠then she started sharing some of her gripes about the revival, and how she felt it undermined its own message with its clumsy and cringey (her words, not mine) approach to tackling racismâŚ
âOn the inside, Iâm cringing at that, Iâm cringing at the fucking projected egg song, and I cringe a little at the end when we hold out those coats. Iâm like, itâs okay. I wouldnât have wanted it this way, but I am doing my jobâ.
⌠as well as the inherent yikes-ness of casting an Asian performer such as herself as the showâs pro-slavery white characterâŚ
âThe non-Black POC folks (...) were assimilated into whiteness with no consideration of how our personal identity intersected with this song or this history. The directors, by using race as a binary in the construction of âMolasses to Rum,â unconsciously held up a false narrative by assimilating non-Black POC folks into whiteness, because they were prioritizing the Black folks.â
⌠and criticised how the producers never made use of the castâs diverse gender identities and sexualities other than as a selling point.
âThey were prioritizing ⌠race as a driving creative choice more than anything else. Gender identity, sexual identity â those we werenât talking aboutâ.
The interviewer then asked if she experienced any difficulty adjusting from having full creative control to being just another member of an ensemble cast, which is
precisely when all hell broke loose. Sara admitted that she wasnât feeling artistically fulfilled by the role and this was strictly a career move for her.
Aim for a Tony nomination and some good reviews, network with big names in the industry and use it to further her actual passions. Finally, in the very last line in the interview, she dropped the bombshell line that got everyone up in arms: when asked about how much effort sheâs putting into the show, she repliedâŚ
âIâm giving 75%. When I do âMolasses to Rum,â Iâm giving 90%â
Now, if you read the interview you might remember the part where she mentioned that her ultimate goal was to use this role to further her career. You might also be wondering if this interview hurt that. Donât worry, youâre not alone. Many people wondered if she was trying to build up her indie cred by publicly calling out mainstream Broadway? Perhaps her status as an outsider meant that she was able to be more open about these issues than everyone else? Her points had merit, but was going public like this the most professional way of going about it?
People politely discussed these points of view with poise and rationalit- haha, no, people immediately took nuance and its cousin tact out behind the shed and shot them in the back of the head. Vicious debates started in the comments section under the article, including one pro-Sara user who was
widely assumed to be Sara using a sockpuppet account, though I
think it later turned out to be one of her IRL friends. The story quickly picked up momentum and Broadway fans splintered into pro- and anti-Sara camps, with the battlelines being drawn over the question of whether Sara was:
A) a confident artist who knew her own worth and whose only crime was keeping it real, OR;
B) an entitled, arrogant egotist whose delusions of grandeur were matched only by her shameless clout-chasing.
It wasnât just terminally online theatre fans who were talking about this, however.
Other performers started weighing in, it got airplay in Broadway news sites and even warranted a few mentions in mainstream media.
People magazine picked up the story,
The Seattle Times came out to bat for their hometown hero, and
the New York Times published a critical opinion piece To her supporters, her bluntness was refreshing - yes, the end goal of
any job is to get paid, why should Broadway be any different? At the end of the day, itâs still a job and if Sara wants to set healthy boundaries between work and her life then more power to her. While she may be one of the stars, she shouldnât be obliged to lie about the state of the show or be in promotion mode 100% of the time. To see someone cut through all the puff and PR speak like that wasnât just novel, but it also broke right through the âbe happy that youâre here and donât complainâ attitude of the community.
To her opponents however, going public like this while the production was still running and struggling to fill seats was
insanely unprofessional - would the struggling show be able to survive the negative PR hit of one of the leads coming out against it in public? Some questioned her motives and wondered if she was
really doing this to shine a light on Broadwayâs issues or if she was using it as a cynical attention-grab, with
some people who claimed to know her IRL certainly thinking that was what she was doing. And then there was the reaction to the 75% comment which is what
literally everyone zeroed in on - thereâs a reason itâs in the title.
It was pointed out that Idina Menzel (Elphaba from
Wicked, Elsa from
Frozen) made
basically the same comment years ago and nobody raked
her over the coals for it. Could it be that her being a non-white woman in a predominantly white industry possibly,
maybe have a role to play?
Some people seemed to think so. Not to mention, Broadway performance schedules are absolutely
brutal, holding back like that is a
totally valid way of preventing vocal damage/burnout and anyone who was up in arms over the 75% comment had either A) never performed onstage before, B) were
perpetuating a toxic culture, or C) were selfishly putting their entertainment above Saraâs wellbeing.
Of course, not everybody saw it that way. A lot of people took issue with her comments about wanting to win a Tony in particular - hoping to win the industryâs biggest award with a performance youâre only putting 75% effort into? For many,
the perceived arrogance and entitlement was too much to bear. Others took it as a sign of
laziness and disrespect towards the audienceâs time and money. And then there were people who (rightly or wrongly) interpreted Saraâs 75% comment as protesting against the directors in an âI donât like these decisions so Iâm not going to tryâ way, and then shot back by saying if she really wanted creative control she could quit and return to Seattle indie theatre where she could do whatever she wanted.
As far as I can tell, the split was along generational lines - older fans leaned anti-Sara, with a lot of âthose damned entitled millennialsâ vibes going around. Meanwhile, younger fans tended to be pro-Sara, with a dash of
antiwork flavour thrown in for extra spice. The response depended on the platform, too - old school forums and Broadway bloggers didnât take too kindly to her, Twitter celebrated her, and
broadway and YouTube were split down the middle. I'm gonna take a sec to shine a spotlight on broadwayworld.com in particular, which for those not in the know is to Broadway fandom what FF.net is to fanfiction. As a gathering place for older folks with plenty time on their hands and Opinions about things, youâd expect it to be strongly anti-Sara but reception there was surprisingly split, with
their thread running for 5 days and eventually reaching 10 pages (before it was locked over pronoun discourse).
How not to respond to a controversy (OR: the gang learns why publicists, crisis managers, and PR agencies exist)
I mentioned him earlier, but
Jeffrey Page was one of two directors behind the 1776 revival and one of the people indirectly called out in Saraâs interview. As an African-American man, itâs pretty safe to assume that a lot of the new focus on American race relations baked into the production came from him. Needless to say, he wasnât terribly happy about the interview. Nor was he happy that the show heâd worked so long on was making headlines for all the wrong reasons. Instead of putting out your typical âwe disagree with the opinions stated by some of our cast members, but respect their input and will endeavour to address any issues in the futureâ PR statement however, he decided to address the issue by
vaguebooking at a âcertain nameless someoneâ:
âDear nameless person, I know that you feel good about that thing you said⌠I didnât feel good about it.
I know you feel like it is now your time in the sun. You ainât put in the time and you ainât done the work. You are ungrateful and unwise.
You claim that you want to dismantle white supremacist ideology⌠I think that you are the very example of the thing you claim to be most interested in dismantling.
You are fake-woke, rotten to the core, and stuck in the matrix; I hope you get that increased IG following that you so desperately thirst.â
Needless to say, this only triggered a whole ânother round of discourse. Was it appropriate to respond to unprofessionalism with even more professionalism? As the boss in this situation, was he right to take out his frustration or should he have taken the high road? Some fans put on their deerstalkers and tried to use reactions to the Facebook post from other cast members to gauge the temperature behind the scenes. Meanwhile, a handful of Sara stans decided that
obviously this meant that he was fair game for abuse (side note kids: don't send do this).
Of course, he wasnât the only one who decided to take the direct approach. As all this was going down, Sara hopped on Twitter to post her response. Here are some of the juiciest ones because this is a popcorn sub and I know what yâall are here for:
Sara also clarified that by 75%, she was talking about
work-life balance. As in, sheâs setting 25% of her mental energy aside for self-care. And yâknow, fair enough. On the other hand though, I think I speak for most people when I say that it
really didnât come across that way in the interview.
While her supporters on Twitter were generally positive, in the rest of the community reception wasn't quite as warm. It isn't hard to see why, just look at her tone. People who were all-in on the âSara is a self-absorbed narcissisticâ train now had more ammunition, while some who were on the fence about her before quietly climbed down and parked themselves on the anti-Sara side of the property line. Even people whoâd been 100% supportive of her before now found themselves awkwardly staring at their shoelaces and started prefacing their takes with âokay, so sheâs a bit obnoxious but you gotta admitâŚâ
Curtain call
This is
hobbydrama, so we all know what comes next. Sara doubles down even more, Jeffrey Page fires back, the drama continues. Except⌠thatâs not what happened. Whether itâs because both sides had time to settle down and realise that
neither of them were coming out of this looking very good or because lawyers got involved, it wouldnât be long before both sides backed down, though not without a little bit of residual drama.
First up was Jeffrey, who quietly deleted his Facebook post. Then other Broadway performers whoâd weighed in started deleting their hottakes. Meanwhile, Sara put out another series of Tweets striking a gentler tone where she apologised for affecting the rest of the cast, acknowledged how her tone made it
very easy to see her as an entitled diva, and to please please
please not send death threats to Jeffrey or Diane.
Reactions to her sudden 180 were just as mixed as her initial response. While some thought it was an eloquent and well-written statement, there were two passages in particular that drew a lot of attention:
1) Sara directly addressing it towards
âwhite folks & BIPOC folks w/internalised racismâ, which many interpreted as dismissive (at best) or actively trying to frame all criticism towards her as racist (at worst)
2) Saying that firing her
âwould only be further proof of this industry's inability to adapt & change for the betterâ which some took either as her preemptively playing the race card or even
And that was that. While there was plenty of speculation Sara would get the sack, in the end the show continued to limp on with her. Many subsequent attendees
reporting empty seats abound reported excitedly that much of the original cast would be joining this new productionâŚ
with one notable exception. Sara announced sheâd be back in Seattle with a new project scheduled for April 2023.
What have we learned? Well, I canât speak for yâall but for me itâs only reinforced that Twitter is an irradiated wasteland where nuance goes to die and if I never have to visit it again it will be too soon. Oh, and that drama kids gonna drama, I suppose.

2023.03.22 23:00 thisguyhasaname 1080p high settings 60fps build. Anything you would change in this?
speccing out a PC build for my girlfriend in case we decide to buy one instead of going the laptop route, already have a spare SSD/monitoheadset so don't need those. Does this look like a good budget build or is there anything I might be missing? Considered going with a 12400F instead but it was slightly more expensive for the same performance but I don't have a big preference between brands

2023.03.22 22:53 Uggamouse Quest, Avalon, Resistance, and confusion đľâđŤ
Iâm late to the âSocial Deductionâ party, Resistance being my gateway drug. But good lord Indie Boards and Cards has made this so confusing for new buyers.
-Avalon apparently improves/balances Resistance but is basically the same game. - Resistance can not be combined with Avalon but expansion packs for Resistance can be bought that can basically become Avalon⌠sort of? - Quest is an improved Avalon and is part of the âBig Boxâ version of Avalon but is also sold separately and if itâs in the big box itâs just Avalon, but separately itâs Quest but ignore that because itâs also being renamed and is now Avalon, or something? - Resistance 3rd edition contains one module from Hostile Intent, but Hidden Agenda is the only expansion worth buying, unless I want to copy Avalon which is the same.
So I should buy Avalon because itâs better than Resistance but also the same but also Quest is improved Avalon but is also the same but isnât resistance but I should buy Avalon big box because itâs Avalon that includes Quest but quest is better so Iâll just end up playing that , which is Avalon?
Am I getting this right?
So I should abandon resistance, and just buy Avalon? Or abandon both and buy Quest? Good lord.

2023.03.22 22:45 TheCapm42 Thoughts on a Kami deck
Hey folks.
This is a deck I've been brewing in the back of my mind for almost two years now and I've finally decided to put it down to paper. The Moxfield list is right here. The deck is a [[Kami of the Crescent Moon]] forced draw deck.
This is a fun casual deck based on making the table draw huge amount of cards, then punishing them for it. The idea is to immediately play Kami and [[Howling Mine]] effects to start drawing multiple cards per turn, using that to find an 'all players have no max hand size' card - [[Anvil of Bogardan]] or [[Folio of Fancies]].
Next, we start loading the table up with group card draw spells like [[Prosperity]] or repeatable permanents like [[Temple Bell]] and [[Jace Beleren]]. At the same time, we get double duty out of cards like [[Evacuation]] and [[Dissipation Field]] for protection against creature beats and forcing more cards into our opponent's hands.
Once the table is holding a third of their decks, hopefully we've already drawn or can tutor into [[Iron Maiden]] and/or [[Viseling]] and copy the crap out of it as many times as we can with [[Copy Artifact]] and [[Phyrexian Metamorph]] effects.
Since Iron Maiden and Viseling are critical to the game plan we're going to run a few sources of artifact recursion, in case they get blown up. If things get really bad, we've got a [[Day's Undoing]] to just start over again.
If all else fails, we've got a Plan B of [[Jace, Wielder of Mysteries]] and [[Laboratory Maniac]].
Now, I'm fully aware that this isn't the most competitive strategy - giving all our opponents all their best cards. My thought is this is a deck to play as a change of pace. Either we're going to do something amazing to win the game or our opponents will be laying down some crazy stuff. Either way, everyone gets to see their deck do "the thing" and we saw some explosive and enjoyable plays along the way.
That said, casual and fun doesn't mean we don't want to win. I feel like I'm pretty close on the balance between the different elements of this deck coming together but I wanted to ask this sub what you all thought. If you look at the list, everything not in the Main Deck is a card I'm considering being worth an include. The Sideboard is cards that I own and can slot right in, Considering is cards I don't own but would probably be OK with buying.
The questions I am asking myself at this point are:
- Do I have enough damage to win with just Iron Maiden and Viseling? Do I have enough copy effects to get there?
- Do I need another hard win condition, something like [[Psychosis Crawler]]?
- Do I have enough interaction through bounce and counterspells to protect myself until I can set my trap? Will the table be inclined to leave little Kami alone if he's giving the table an extra 3 or 4 cards per draw step, or do I need more pillows?
- If I have to go with Plan B and draw myself out, do I have enough sources of burst draw to do that?
I'd like to hear your thoughts on the deck and on the concerns I have. Feel free to suggest a card that isn't in the Sideboard or Considering section if you think it's a good one. I don't want to go too crazy with the budget, but I'm committed to making this work. I've already got the Copy Artifact and Anvil of Bogardan...
Thanks for taking the time to look!

2023.03.22 22:42 Comprehensive_Food88 So I was playing Hela and I guess X-Mansion wanted to help me out. Too bad my opponent used Kang on the last turn and retreated.
2023.03.22 22:42 Warreor +% Damage (LoS Card Set) vs +% Additional Damage (Deep Dive Card Set)
With the new Deep Dive card set being very easy to collect and giving: +4/8/12% additional damage we now have an effective alternative to Light of Salvations: +7/15% Holy Damage.
Obviously LoS will always be superior on gates that are weak to Holy Damage, but Iâm a little bit confused about the realized damage gains in other scenarios.
I have heard people saying that Deep Dive 18 is now better then LoS 18 since it provides +8% additional damage vs +7% damage.
But I was under the impressions that +% additional damage does not scale damage quite as effectively as straight +% damage does.
Stuff like weapon quality and Salvation stacks also give +% additional damage, which apparently is why the Nightmare set scales better with high weapon quality then Salvation set does.
Am I mistake about something here? Or maybe the difference is so small that +8% additional damage still ends up being worth more then +7% damage? Does Weapon quality / use of Salvation set change which card set should be prioritized at awakening 18?
Awesome that this card set was added for newer players, but for people who already have awakening 18 for both⌠which is better outside of bosses weak to holy?

2023.03.22 22:38 ccam0821 Chances of Getting Leeched Turn 3 Post-Nerf
Inspired by
this post, I decided to run the numbers are see how often a turn 3 Leech is actually possible in the post-nerf Thanos lockjaw decks. The play pattern is T1 Time Stone, T2 Lockjaw, T3 as many 1 drops into Lockjaw as possible to try to pull Leech.
TLDR: The probability is 0.68%-1.05% without America Chavez and between 0.76%-1.27% with America Chavez.
Assumptions:
- You're not playing Agatha because Agatha cannot execute this strategy reliably
- You're not playing America Chavez (I will go over Chavez later, she complicates things)
- You will ALWAYS play Time Stone Turn 1 no matter what
- You're not running Quicksilver or Domino because that is most definitely sub-optimal
- You will ALWAYS play as many 1 drops into lockjaw as possible on Turn 3 because you are trying to pull Leech at all costs
- You will ALWAYS play the Mind Stone first into Lockjaw if you have it to maximize the chances Leech comes out (you don't want stones coming out of Lockjaw anyway). I'm not going to factor in playing a different stone first, then playing mind stone to draw it back out to maximize draws with mind stone. That is too much work.
- I'm ignoring locations. I'm not going to calculate the chances of location combinations restricting or preventing this play pattern.
Probabilities for the opening hand(s):
Time Stone In Hand T1 | 4/18 | 22.2% |
Lockjaw In Hand T2 After Playing Time Stone T1 | 5/17 | 29.4% |
Leech Still In Deck T3 After The Above 2 | 11/16 | 68.75% |
Probabilities of having 1 drops in hand on Turn 3 with 0 other 1 drops (ie all stones):
0 In Hand | 13.2% |
1 In Hand | 32.9% |
2 In Hand | 32.9% |
3+ In Hand | 21% |
Probabilities of having 1 drops in hand on Turn 3 with 1 other 1 drop:
0 In Hand | 8.7% |
1 In Hand | 26.3% |
2 In Hand | 32.9% |
3+ In Hand | 32% |
Probabilities of having 1 drops in hand on Turn 3 with 2 other 1 drops:
0 In Hand | 5.9% |
1 In Hand | 20.5% |
2 In Hand | 30.7% |
3+ In Hand | 42.9% |
As you might expect, having more 1 drops in your deck means it's more likely you'll have 1 drops on Turn 3.
Probabilities Leech comes out with different numbers of pulls factoring in Mind Stone drawing stones out of the deck:
1 in Lockjaw | 9.5% |
2 in Lockjaw | 18.9% |
3 In Lockjaw (Mind Stone draws 2. 3 or less stones in hand) | 28% |
3 In Lockjaw (Mind Stone draws 1. 4 stones in hand) | 26.7% |
3 in Lockjaw (Mind Stone draws 0. 5 stones in hand) | 24.9% |
These numbers deviate to a very minor degree (<1%) depending on the number of 1 drops in the deck because it changes the chance one of the one drops you have is actually the Mind Stone.
The Grand Finale, ie putting all these probabilities together: Total Probability Leech comes out on Turn 3 with:
0 Other 1 Drops | 0.68% |
1 Other 1 Drop | 0.78% |
2 Other 1 Drops | 1.05% |
So if you follow this strategy exactly, it should happen ~1% of the time. You can get it higher by having more 1 drops but this will hurt your chances of getting good stuff out of Lockjaw.
What if you wouldn't play time stone unless Lockjaw is ALSO in your opening hand? Well you've lowered your odds to: 0.41%, 0.47%, or 0.63% depending on the number of 1 drops in your deck.
What about Chavez? Well, she complicates a lot of things. Noticeably, I now need to care about if stones other than the mind stone pop out of lockjaw because now they will draw cards that are not Chavez. This creates a lot more work that I'm not willing to do, but I will show the effect on Time Stone/Lockjaw/Leech being in the necessary spots in the beginning. She will increase the chance the Time Stone and Lockjaw are in your hands T1 and T2, but decrease the chance Leech is still in the deck. It also changes the probabilities for the number of 1 drops in your hand which I will account for as well.
Total Probability Leech comes out on Turn 3 with America Chavez in the deck:
0 Other 1 Drops | 0.76% |
1 Other 1 Drop | 0.90% |
2 Other 1 Drops | 1.27% |
So still right around the 1% mark. The real probabilities would likely be a tiny amount higher (maybe not even noticeable) due to the stones drawing cards that won't be Chavez. But since I have the assumption you are playing the Mind Stone first, and we're talking about very small probabilities of these events happening perfectly anyway. I bet this effect is negligible.
What if you wouldn't play time stone unless Lockjaw is ALSO in your opening hand WITH Chavez? Well you've lowered your odds to: 0.45%, 0.54%, or 0.76% depending on the number of 1 drops in your deck.
Any deviation from this strategy (like not playing all your 1 drops into Lockjaw) will lower the odds. The strategy exists to maximize the chance of pulling Leech.

2023.03.22 22:26 spontaneoustimes Why did my captain marvel not move? They had turn 6 priority, I played Aero and moved their sentinel. Marvel couldâve gone Oscorp?
2023.03.22 22:25 ItsSnoky 25 [M4F] UK/Europe - Hello from a Englander in a not very "United" Kingdom
Before messaging on Chat or DM's, please be able to hold a conversation as it's not nice to be ghosted within the first few messages, it ain't nice and you should have some actual decent social skills to just be upfront about this with someone... Anyway, with that out of the way let's continue. Introduction
Well hello there! (General Kenobi!). I'm Snoky also known as
you'll find out when we get to know eachother Iâm a 25 year old English/Norwegian guy from the U of K! I currently work in the IT Sector within the Local Government and my god I forgot how hectic the public sector was after i left it roughly 4 years ago. I did indeed have quite a shock coming back đ
Apperance
I'm on the bigger side but am looking to get that changed with some help due to i'm not very happy with the way thing's are currently. Minus that I'm 6'1/6'2, depends on which doctor you ask! I have short-ish hair dark blonde hair? I think? I'm not very good with colors so you'll have to tell me whenever we decide to exchange pictures.
Which i will be more than happy to exchange later on once we get to know eachother!
Main Intrests/Hobbies
My main interests are either playing games with some friends on the PC, studying for future certifications and mainly what I do after work just kicking back and watching whatever random things I can find on YouTube (I arenât a big TV person). I used to watch a lot of anime but I tend to drop out of it for a year and then I get back in to it then I lose interest again heh, itâs just a thing that Iâve been doing for years on end.
I am somewhat in to movies but I havenât really properly watched any within the last year or so but if I was to give a rough genre, Iâd say dark-ish movies with a grabbing story i.e. DC films and a here and there Marvel film (IW ftw!) I much more prefer it when the bad guy gets the upper hand and basically wins as close to that of Thanos basically.
My main music choices? Everywhere and everything. If my ears like it, then chances are Iâll most likely like it. Iâd write down all the artists I follow right now but trust me itâd take too long to go over so itâd probs better to just share my Spotify playlist lmao. But to give a quick sum up Iâd say its more around mixed genre, alt-rock basically.
I do also write my own stuff as well, but again like anime I do it for like 6 months then stop, then start a year later so eh itâs a pretty hit and miss hobby for me đ
Future Prospects?
As mentioned in my apperance section i'm in the process of trying to get fit with weight loss as Iâm not very happy with how I am at the moment especially when it comes to health after a incident a few years ago but thatâs neither here nor the future as Iâm looking to change it with the help of the NHS and people around me. I'd be more than happy to join forces together with someone who's trying to do the same thing!
I currently own my own company which is currently under going some development but hasn't actually started as of yet (still looking in that area) but it will get there at somepoint!
Alongside my own company Iâm also undergoing a project with a close friend of mine that weâre trying to pursue which is actually happening alongside the org itself so it's all looping together slowly but surely.
What am i looking for?
I'm looking for someone who's intrested in getting to know eachother, someone who's got my back and i've got theres, someone i can well essentially "grow" with and get to know, someone who's willing to put the effort in to get to know me and vice versa.I'd like said person to be able to hold a convoersation with me as i've been in too many instances where it's all been one sided convos with me basically putting in more effort than the other person but alas that's neither here nor there and hopfully I'll maybe find the person who would share that equal effort with me. And trust me I've been ghosted loads of times to the point it's like "bruh, just why?" but anyway!
I'm open to long distant's so long as there's a goal to meet eachother in the somewhat near future!
The End?
If you've made it this far after this somewhat long post then i must congradulate you!
I now have a small question for you to send me the answer too when you message me.
On what date and or month was a i born? hint I was born on the month of a certain red birthstone on a international memorial day p.s, if you don't get it it doesn't matter it's worth a try regardless! submitted by
