2023.04.01 09:03 felxbecker What's a good workflow for editing chunks in an open world?

I my game I have an open world consisting of chunks that can be dynamically loaded or unloaded. Each chunk is bounded by an arbitrary polygon and the system would automatically create a graph by tracking overlapping polygons and load adjacent chunks to the chunk the player is currently in. It works perfectly fine from a gameplay perspective. My problem is that so far I couldn't come up with a good workflow for editing the chunks (the solution might be super simple though).
Each chunk is it's own scene file, so editing them individually is easy. However, when put together in a meta-scene, I would have to
The first workflow one is just annoying and the second one seems error prone because you temporarily detach the changed version of the scene from it's scene file.
Is there a better way of doing it?

2023.04.01 09:01 OpenCommune Cesar Chavez Day celebrates a Trumpian farm worker activist/real estate developer who hated "wetbacks" but loved Synanon, the cult which tortured Brace with "The Game"

I never learned about him in detail but it turns out he's a cringe radlib, Obama felt comfortable making today a holiday. He was a Catholic without the Marxist historical materialism to understand that "illegals" ("my Christianity allows me to respect all human life" you would have abandoned Jesus's immigrant grandparent you liar) are part of the international working class just like "citizens".
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cesar_Chavez
In Rome, he met with Pope Paul VI, who commended his activism.
spoilers: "Cesar Chavez was a groomer" /BrandNewSentence, I'm not exaggerating, this article literally uses that word when they talk about the unholy abuse cult stuff utilizing children as a vehicle for growing his power.
Chavez increasingly blamed the failure of the UFW strike on illegal immigrants who were brought in as strikebreakers. He made the unsubstantiated claim that the CIA was involved in part of a conspiracy to bring illegal migrants into the country so that they could undermine his union. He launched the "Illegals Campaign" to identify illegal migrants so that they could be deported, appointing Liza Hirsch to oversee the campaign. In Chavez's view, "if we can get the illegals out of California, we will win the strike overnight."
https://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/news/cesar-chavezs-rabid-opposition-to-illegal-immigration-not-covered-in-new-movie-6643666?storyPage=2
She describes how Chavez worked to undermine the Arizona Farmworkers Union, which had made strides in proving that undocumented workers could, in fact, be organized to help their situation in America. The Arizona group "began to have tremendous success, and they did it by going to Mexico and talking to workers before they got here," pressuring growers to employ them and finding contracts for work, Pawel tells us. "Chavez went out and destroyed them."
"if we get unionist radlibs off the planet, we can achieve global communism overnight" - Sakai, "Settlers" pg 420
This was a reiteration of an early view he expressed concerning the problems the UFW boycott faced in 1972; Chavez believed that illegal labor could undermine any strike undertaken by agricultural workers could be undermined by "wetbacks" and "illegal immigrants". Huerta urged him not to refer to migrants who had come to the U.S. illegally as "illegals" but Chavez refused, stating: "a spade's a spade."
A Trot wrecker is a Trot
Some UFW field offices refused to collaborate with the campaign, and the National Lawyers Guild (NLG) refused to allow its interns to work on it, at which Chavez cut the UFW's links with the NLG.
trying to hire "loyal" lawyers, classic Trump guy move
While Chavez had been in Europe, his cousin Manuel Chavez had established a UFW patrol, or "wet line", along Arizona's border with Mexico to stop illegal migrants crossing into the United States. There were rumors that this patrol was employing violence against these migrants, beating and robbing them and in one case castrating a man.
Catholics want only one thing and its disgusting https://www.catholicbridge.com/catholic/castration-catholic-church.php
These allegations soon appeared in the local press. A Mexican investigation determined that the UFW had bribed San Luis city officials to prevent them from interfering in these activities along the border.
labor aristocrats have class solidarity with each other across national borders, do you?
A Mexican union, the Confederation of Mexican Workers, broke its links with the UFW over the issue. Chavez dismissed the reports of violence as the smears of paid provocateurs, a claim which many of his supporters accepted. Chavez protected Manuel, while the executive board kept silent on his activities, regarding him as useful. The Chicano activist Bert Corona staged a protest against the UFW wet line, at which Chavez directed Jerry Cohen to launch an investigation into the funding of Corona's group.
The Teamster victories in the Delano vineyards angered Chavez, who insisted that there had not been free elections there. Chavez criticised the ALRB and launched a targeted campaign against Walter Kintz, the ALRB's general counsel, demanding his resignation. He also put pressure on Governor Brown to remove Kintz.
Nonstop Trump moments in this wiki page, this is the "hero" which radlibs claim is a good role model, this pathetic thin-skinned crybaby made Obama preach about being inspired to do social justice community leadership? I thought he hated Trump for his narcissism and arrogance???
...
Chavez blamed the defeat on the UFW's national boycott director, Nick Jones, who had been the only staff member to publicly voice disquiet over the Proposition 14 campaign. He claimed that Jones and the New York boycott director, Charlie March, had been part of a far-left conspiracy to undermine the UFW. Chavez also fired Joe Smith, the editor of El Macriado, after accusing him of deliberately undermining the newspaper. He then ordered Ross and Ganz to interrogate everyone who worked on the campaign, ostensibly to decide on new assignments but also to route out alleged malcontents, agitators, and spies. Many of those involved in running the UFW's boycott expressed concerns about a McCarthyite-style atmosphere developing within the union, and Chavez's purge attracted press attention. As the criticisms of his leadership intensified, Chavez responded with further purges, inspired by those in China's Cultural Revolution. He became convinced that there was a far-left conspiracy, whose members he called the "assholes" or "them", who were trying to undermine the UFW. At a La Paz meeting in April 1977, later called "the Monday Night Massacre," Chavez called together a range of individuals whom he denounced as malcontents or spies. They were verbally abused by members of the executive board and ejected from the community. He later accused Philip Vera Cruz, the oldest member of the executive board, of also being part of the conspiracy, and forced him out.
but Maoists actually read Marx tho?
He urged them to become a movement, which he argued meant establishing communal settlements for members, drawing on a Californian religious organization, Synanon, as an exemplar. Chavez had become increasingly interested in Synanon, a drug-treatment organization that had declared itself a religion in 1975 and which operated out of a compound east of Fresno. He admired Synanon's leader Charles Dederich, and the way that the latter controlled his planned community. In Chavez's opinion, Dederich was "a genius in terms of people"
"wow! abusing children is such an innovative and genius idea!" It really is not, primitive MKULTRA torture praxis is the oldest trick in the book, before people even wrote books.
In February 1977, Chavez took the UFW's executive board on a visit to the Synanon compound. There, they took part in a therapy system based on Dederich's own process, "the Game," as part of which each "player" was singled out in turn to receive harsh, profanity-laced criticism from the rest of the community. Dederich had told Chavez that "the Game" was key to reshaping the UFW, and the latter decided that he wanted everyone at La Paz to play it. He received tacit agreement from the executive board although some of its members privately opposed the measure. The Game took place at La Paz on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings, and at its height about 100 people were taking part in it each week. There it was used to shape behavior and punish nonconformity. Many individuals dreaded the humiliation it involved, disliked the obscenities that were part of it, and found going through it to be a traumatic experience. Chavez remained enthusiastic about the Game, calling it "a good tool to fine-tune the union". Many of those close to Chavez, including his wife and Richard Chavez, refused to take part. The farmworkers were not informed about the Game. Various long-term supporters of the UFW, including various clerical figures, visited La Paz at this time and left alarmed by how it had changed.
Synanon provided the UFW with $100,000 worth of cars and materials; building links with Chavez's movement burnished Dederich's reputation with rich liberals who were among Synanon's core constituency.
new age fascist Obama libs love the idea of being allied with farmworkers, its like the woke consultant grift nowadays: "listen to five lectures about white fragility to tell yourself you aren't a nazi class traitor"
Dederich suggested that Synanon and the UFW establish a joint communal farm, and although the option was explored, it did not materialize. Following Dederich's advice, Chavez began grooming young people who had grown up in the movement to remain committed to him and his ideals. He created a curriculum for them to follow, which included the Game.
the same toxic pedagogy which abused Brace Beldan, this is why everyone hates Christians lol, their obsession with Jesus on the cross is more of an instructional method to whipping their child slaves than any opposition to the cycle of abuse.
Whereas Chavez had previously refused to accept government money, he now applied for over $500,000 in grants for a school and other projects. Formal celebrations and group rituals became an important part of life at La Paz, while Chavez also declared that on Saturday mornings all residents of La Paz should work in the vegetable and flower gardens to improve sociability. A rule was passed that everyone at La Paz had to wear a UFW button at all times on penalty of a fine. After attending a course in Los Angeles, Chavez began claiming that he could heal people by laying on his hands.
New Age cultists won't read Marx but they will have psychotic episodes of believing they are Jesus
With membership dues declining, the UFW increasingly turned to commercial activities as a means of raising funds. It began marketing UFW branded merchandise through Ell Taller Grafico Speciality Advertising (ETG), which had Chavez as its chair. Chavez also set himself up as a housing developer, working in partnership with the Fresno businessman Celestino Aguilar. Together they bought properties undergoing foreclosure, renovated them, before selling them on. They ultimately moved from foreclosures to high-end custom built houses and subsidized apartment blocks. To conceal the UFW's involvement in these projects, Chavez and Aguilar formed the company American Liberty Investments. They also established the Ideal Minimart Corporation, which built two strip malls and operated a check-cashing store. Richard's company, Bonita Construction, was hired for some of the work. The Fresno Bee subsequently reported that most of the UFW's housing projects had been built by non-union contractors. The trade unions representing the building unions expressed outrage at the news, highlighting that they had previously given financial support to the UFW. The New Yorker later termed the incident an "embarrassment".
unionist to finance imperialist kulak pipeline
In the early 1990s, the UFW continued to market Chavez as a heroic figure, especially on university and college campuses.
power hungry opportunists recognize themselves in PMC Obama nerds
Chavez described his movement as promoting "a Christian radical philosophy".
He never had close friendships outside of his family, believing that friendships distracted from his political activism.
During the latter part of the 1970s, his infidelity with a range of women became common knowledge among senior UFW figures, who kept this knowledge quiet so as not to damage his reputation as a devoted Catholic family man
a friendless cult harem guy who is revolutionary but only if it lets him gather personal power? That's the complete opposite of what Christ was all about, having friends and being in a loving monogamous relationship
According to Chavez biographer Roger Bruns, he "focused the movement on the ethnic identity of Mexican Americans" and on a "quest for justice rooted in Catholic social teaching". Chavez saw his fight for farmworkers' rights as a symbol for the broader cultural and ethnic struggle for Mexican Americans in the United States.
"citizen lives matter, not the CIA conspiracy of illegals trying to ruin my unionism" he literally would have tried to lynch Jesus's refugee ancestor Ruth, he's like the villain in a Muslim time travel movie!
Chavez repeatedly referred to himself as a community organizer rather than as a labor leader and underscored that distinction.
"whites only community" but its for legal Latinos also, classic Trump guy
Since his death, there has been a struggle to define his legacy

2023.04.01 09:01 meninoLuro Fastest way to get to robots

Hi!
Does anyone know a guide that shows how to get to robots fast?
I’m not exactly a new player, but I always end up doing a bunch of random stuff cause I get distracted and that results in super late logistics system.
The idea now is to get to logistics as fast as possible so I can mass produce robots and stop using belts in the starter base.
If anyone knows a guide or walkthrough (preferably text format), I’d love it! Thanks so much

2023.04.01 09:00 PRLoHaceMejor Banned alt due to being reported too many times this week.

Tonight I had an alt account have this dumbass thing pop up. The fucking report system is being abused again this update, much like it was back when iferg and other youtubers where being banned left and right. Got one for 7 days apparently, which means it's the automated system doing the ban. Everyone beware, if you spent money on this game retards will report you in ranked for getting a nuke, etc. Luckily my alt account is a completely free to play one. False reporting has become a major issue AGAIN. Was squadded up and in the middle of changing loadouts in the menu only to have the "Game data is abnormal, check your environment 15035" pop up and kick me from the game. A bit of more advice for players in random teams that like to report opposing teams: if you're up against an organized clan squad you are going to get sodomized.

2023.04.01 08:55 Illeazar Even out volume between different files?

I've run a search and this topic comes up often, but I can't actually find a definite answer. Sometimes people will ask the same question as me, sometimes a similar question, but the only answer that I can find is to the similar question, not this question. Even if someone asks this exact question, the only answers people give are to the wrong question.
So the problem is, when after watching one show or movie from my Plex server, and setting the volume at the appropriate level, I will then go to watch some other show or movie, and the volume will be much to high or much too low. I would like to find a way to even out the volume between various files on my server.
To be clear, I am NOT asking to even out the volume within a single movie (making the soft parts louder, making the loud parts softer, etc.). I am not asking to compress the dynamic range of the audio. I am not asking about making dialogue easier to hear. Those things are fine. I am not asking about the conversion from 5.1 to stereo or vice versa, pretty much all my media is 5.1, the sound system I watch with is 5.1.
What I want to do is to have Plex look at the average volume level of each file, then automatically adjust the volume when playing that file up or down to bring it to match a server-wide average volume. That way, when one show ends and I start another one, the volume is going to be at least pretty close to right level already.
Is there a setting in Plex somewhere to do this, or a plugin that can do this? Failing that, is there some other software that can go through all my files and re-encode them to match an average volume level (and be set up to automatically do this for new files that are added)? That would be a desperate last resort kind of option, but if that's the only choice then I'd be open to it..

Thanks for any help!

2023.04.01 08:55 StepwiseUndrape574 Grand Theft Auto V Loads Up To 92 Percent Faster On PS5 Than PS4 In Early Tests

Grand Theft Auto V is notable for all kinds of reasons. It's the most expensive video game ever made, and also one of the very most successful, by any measure. It sold so well that Rockstar kept the online service for the 7th-generation (PS3 and Xbox 360) releases of the game going from release in 2013 until late last year. It had moved over 150 million copies as of last August, in fact.
That number has surely gone up since then, and it's probably going to continue going up for years to come thanks to the updated re-release that's now available on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. We've already written about what's included in the re-release, but the short version is that it adds higher-quality assets, ray-traced lighting, and 60 FPS options to the exclusively-30-FPS console releases.
ssd sony ps5 2
Unfortunately, another notable aspect of GTA V is its interminable loading times, especially on the consoles. Well, arguably the biggest change this console generation has been the move to solid-state storage instead of the spinning rust used previously. Both families of 9th-generation game consoles support disk I/O tens of thousands of times faster than the 8th-generation consoles.
Naturally the new release of GTA V reaps the benefits of that in its load times. Over at IGN, they put the new release through its paces and found that load times are drastically improved across the board. Selecting "replay mission" can find load times as much as 75% faster on the new system, while loading autosaves was slashed from over two minutes to around 20 seconds on Sony's latest machine.
ign gtav ps5 loading
As showcased in IGN's video, the difference upon starting a new game is even more mind-blowing. On the PlayStation 4, it took 2 minutes and 18 seconds to load from the menu to the new-game heist sequence. Performing the same operation on the PlayStation 5 took just eleven seconds. The player was able to get halfway through the mission on the PS5 by the time the older system finished loading.
We feel it's likely that this enormous improvement isn't merely the work of the fancy SSD, but also that of the PS5's potent Zen 2 CPU cores as well as some software optimizations. Players of GTA Online may recall that an enterprising developer found a simple optimization (arguably, a bugfix) that slashed loading times by 75%. Rockstar even paid out a bug bounty to the developer.
We still haven't heard back from Rockstar on when or if these improvements will be finding their way to the PC version of the game, nor whether there will be a charge for the update if they do. It seems likely that Rockstar is gauging the playerbase's reaction to such a thing. You can pick up the refreshed release on PS5 for $10 right now, or on Xbox Series XS for $20, but both prices will rise to $40 after three months, so get while the getting's good if you're not willing to wait a few years for GTA 6.

2023.04.01 08:50 Whirlmeister The Traitor ‘Among Us’

I’m planning a one shot Paranoia XP (service Pack 1) convention game - the brief I have is that it should be ‘Among Us’ themed.
So Friend Computer will be sending clones to the furthest reaches of the solar system on a fetch quest - they’ll be given two weeks of intensive training on how to operate the Gamma Explorer vessel - and then sent on the brand new (completely different) Delta class explorer straight out of R&D. After all in the computers eyes newer is better, even if it’s completely untested.
They will then be awakened from cryofreeze early, 8 months into their 2 year journey. Friend mini-computer (the shipboard clone of friend computer) tells them ship has been damaged - which has allowed an alien doppelgänger to enter the ship, eat one of the clones, take his form, and hack the MemoMax system to gain his memories. This gives them an immediate threat (an alien intruder) and tasks to keep them busy (fix the ship).
So I have three questions:
1) What pretext do I come up with for the Alien Intruder to still be the alien intruder after he’s been killed and replaced with his next clone? 2) Which of these options feels right: • There is no alien intruder - even if “Friend Mini-computer” insists there is. Paranoia and mistrust will ensure a suitable death count. Otherwise the mission is as it seems. • There is no alien intruder and no mission. It’s all an experiment by HPD&MC into the effects of long term stress and isolation on clones. The ship, the mission and alien intruder are all part of the simulation and the clones are actually still in Alpha complex. • There is indeed an alien intruder - and the mission is as described. (This feels truest to among us) • There is indeed an alien intruder - and the mission is as described, however due to the effects of the hacked MemomMax system the player with the intruder character doesn’t realise they are an Intruder. Something in game will trigger the recollection. • There are actually 6 alien intruders (the whole group) but none of them realise it until the memories are triggered. 3) As written this is very NPC light. A briefing officer, maybe some trainers during a training montage scene and the computer (the original and mini-computer). Is this likely to be an issue? Would it work better with some Bots with a little personality or would you keep it pure and push the isolation aspects?

2023.04.01 08:47 Random_Stealth_Ward Nidalee's new VO feels like it continues the same trend that people have been complaining about in terms of quality of newer VOs

Now, full disclaimer, I am mostly just an ARAM nidalee player more than a SR Nidalee player, so maybe my experience is not the same as others, however I feel like Riot's Nidalee update has repeated the same thing of feeling like she talks too much.
These are just my two cents and I will say it as a disclaimer in case people just wanna say I dislike it because it's new: I did not like old Nidalee's VO, so my opinion here isn't me having some bias towards that. While I don't like the way New Nidalee speaks, I could tolerate it if she at least didn't feel like she is talking so much and I think I finally found the reason why so many VOs are hated: why in Teemo's sweaty toes does Nidalee nid so many quotes on spells that don't even feel that important?
Like, I could get it if this was some big, important moment but here's the amount of quotes that nidalee does FOR PUTTING A TRAP.
Now let's look at the heal:
Now ult:
Her throwing a spear quotes are actually fine. she has 2 quotes and 5 huffs/growls - with 3 quotes if she hits and 2 laughs. Since I don't like the voice direction they all sound bad to me, but there's some restrain and marking the important aspect of nidalee imo not shoving Nidalee to speak for something so simple as putting a trap or using spells.
She also has lines for her passive marking enemies.
The problem comes from the fact that these are spells you want to use and are low enough in cooldown and comboing the spells around that you WILL use them and the voice lines just end up coming one after the other, ending up with a Nidalee who is mouthing off a lot for simple stuff like hitting red buff or crab. It feels like it would have been better to just put voiced lines for Q, Q hit, healing and Maaaaaybe reduce the passive VO to 2.
I feel this is also the problem with other complained champions like Ashe: Ashe already can feel lenghty with her movement quotes, but at least the Q, E and R spells have enough CD or importance that you can go a good while without hearing them (you are not spamming Q when enemies are nearby for example for no reason) or when you do, it helps elevate the spell. Oh, but now add the quotes where Ashe is screeching just for using Volley, a rather low CD spell whose visual effect is just some pitiful arrows dealing "ok" damage and one you normally use a lot - Now that becomes annoying and detracts from the rest of the quotes because players don't come out remembering any of these quotes for Q, E and R: "This is the fury of an Iceborn!", "Anivia, guide us", "I am the bow!" (ok, maybe they remember that last one). No, Instead they come out remembering the audio trauma of "ARROWS FLY", "MAKE IT COUNT", "I DON'T MISS" that even as the Ashe player can feel obnoxious.
A champion that I feel balances the spell-to-voice properly imo is Sett. Sett Q and his true damage fist? just grunts and huffs. Sett's stun and his ult? Voiced quotes and facebreaker doesn't even says anything if he misses. IMO, this spread of talking and not talking helps create a better sense of identity or whatever Riot seems to want to give champs, because the few quotes he does feel more important and are on spells that are visually impactful. I can recognize his "now KISS!" (spanish VO) and "now for the finish" or "This is gonna hurt" quotes, and I would argue this is in part because these aren't competing with 6 voices of Sett Q where with variants of "it's clobbering time!" and 3 "MEGA LASER PUNCH" for his mega hit.
There's another route less used, and I am not saying everyone has to go this route as he is pretty much an outlier for new champions, but take a look at Pantheon. All his quotes are grunts. Imagine if Pantheon had voiced quotes for Q, the low CD spell he constantly uses instead of the more forgetable Grss and hmmphs. Yes, I can't link a "super amazing Quote that's super cool" to Pantheon stabbing my enemies in one visceral hit which will get spammed, on repeat, for farming and fighting... constantly... but you know what I also don't do? link pantheon to my mental bank of "champs that make me wish to turn voices off" and also champs that talk too much when I am in the enemy team. However, this has the problem of funneling more attention towards Pantheon's voices for walking and attacking, so designers need to be really confident in them and I think that with the usual praise Pantheon gets as a character (rather than a champion in-game), shows it's something they can actually do. Pantheon pretty much uses the way old Champions used to have their voice overs made, but actually having more than 7 quotes for walking and attacking so this isn't a problem.
But maybe my opinion is wrong. Maybe I am not wild enough for this new Nidalee and need to go to a few more furcons to understand my animal side in preparation for her new skin. What are your thoughts on Nidalee's current VO?

Tried starting playing again, after hours of updating and minimal changes to the game afterwards, I could play again.
Now, the game won't even open. They switched to the EA launcher and I've right clicked and launched multiple times, I've opened EA and launched from there multiple times, and still nothing.
I stg this game has ran worse and worse on my 2000$ PC (i got months before launch) since the day I bought it and now, finally that theyre starting to optimize their system and run okay, I can't even launch the game at all. And to think I pre-ordered the season pass edition lmao
280hrs, mostly during actual playable times (i.e. without god-mode/invisible players and actually playable servers) and now wanting to play more I just dont have the option
tbh this game ruined the reputation of BF4 and insults it more by adding almost as many legacy weapons as weapons already included lmao
any fixes would be great bc i still want to play BF but my fav BF4 servers are dead and I spent a shameful amount of money on this release

2023.04.01 08:38 StepwiseUndrape574 Rockstar Remastering GTA 5 For Xbox And PS5 In Glorious 4K60 With Ray Tracing

Did you imagine when Grand Theft Auto V came out for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in 2013, that we'd be seeing a fresh retail re-release of it nine years later? Much like The Elder Scrolls Part V: Skyrim—which hails from the same era—GTA V has been an enduring success and is about to get its third re-release.
There's no fancy subtitle or name change; Grand Theft Auto V is coming to PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series XS consoles on March 15th. That's not to say it's exactly the same experience, though. The versions for the current-gen consoles support 60 FPS, HDR output, ray-tracing, "improved texture quality," faster loading times, "immersive 3D audio," and support for platform-specific features, like the PS5's DualSense haptics.
gtaonline carwash Specifically, there will be a fidelity mode that targets native 3840×2160 resolution with ray tracing and a 30 FPS cap. (Xbox Series S will use upscaling to hit 4K.) Before you sneer at that, note that console versions of GTA V have always had a 30 FPS cap—until now: the new release's "performance mode" will target 60 FPS with dynamic resolution scaling up to 4K, but without ray tracing.
Most interesting to the majority of gamers will probably be the "Performance RT" mode. This mode, available only on the PS5 and Series X, is basically just performance mode with ray tracing enabled. Most likely, it will simply use a lower dynamic resolution to achieve higher-than-30 FPS while keeping ray tracing features. Depending on the upscaling method Rockstar uses, this mode could still look quite good.
Of course, the whole reason that Grand Theft Auto V is still the sensation that it is lies in its online mode. Rockstar has always talked about Grand Theft Auto Online as if it were an entirely separate game, and that's understandable given the differences in their content. But after the re-release launches, it will in fact be available as an entirely separate game—and it'll be free for the first three months after launch on PS5.
gtaonline fukaru The technical changes to Grand Theft Auto V largely apply here, although there's probably still not going to be any animals in Online. Instead, Rockstar is implementing several content updates for the re-launch. The Los Santos Car Meet expansion is getting an expansion of its own called Hao's Special Works, and a "Career Builder" feature will be available for fresh characters to help them get a foothold in Los Santos' seedy underbelly.
If you're already an accomplished crime boss in GTA V or GTA Online using an older console version, you can transfer your progress to the new systems. For story mode, open the game and go to "Game" in the pause menu, then select "Upload Save Game" to send it to the Rockstar Social Club cloud servers. GTA Online progress will transfer automatically, although Rockstar cautions players that purchased GTA$ won't transfer across platforms (i.e. PlayStation to Xbox, or vice versa.)
You'll be able to start playing the remastered version of GTA V on March 15, with physical copies coming available In April. We asked Rockstar when these changes would be coming to the PC version, but haven't heard back yet. We'll update this story when we do.

2023.04.01 08:38 StepwiseUndrape574 Huge GTA 6 Leak Claims Rockstar’s New RAGE9 Graphics Engine Is Incredible

Besides offering up chaotic open-world action, one thing that Rockstar's games have done ever since Grand Theft Auto III is push the envelope in terms of technology. This is somewhat debatable up to Grand Theft Auto IV, which stunned audiences with its mix of macro-scale simulation and micro-scale detail. GTA V and the newer Red Dead Redemption 2 have continued this tradition, and both are still capable of putting the hurt on modern PCs. That's largely thanks to their forward-looking design that integrates features that contemporary systems weren't really ready for when the released.
gtaonlinerain GTA V can still look startlingly realistic at times.
The thing is, even though it just got a re-release on the current-generation consoles, GTA V originally released in 2013. The game's still fun, of course, especially the online mode that has seen continual updates over the years. The technology behind the title is getting a little dated, though, and fans of the series are understandably chomping at the bit for a new release. Rockstar has confirmed that GTA VI (or at least, the next GTA game) is in the works, but as usual, the company hasn't released any information about the title, nor mentioned a release window.
The leaks and rumors that we've heard so far place a hypothetical "GTA VI" at the end of next year, or even in 2025. That's a lot of development time, even if the company only moved into active development in the middle of last year, as is supposedly the case. In a time when almost every other development house (from Square-Enix to CD Projekt Red) is moving to the Unreal Engine, it seems like Rockstar will thankfully stick with its own in-house tech, known as RAGE.
chrisklippeltweet
That bit of information comes from a tweet by Chris Klippel, who is among other things the creator of Rockstar Mag, a French-language gaming news site that focuses on topics surrounding Rockstar Games and its releases. You can see the tweet above. Chris says that he has been in touch with people who have seen the latest version of RAGE in action, and that its graphics engine is "assez incroyable." Chris describes the latest version as RAGE9, which is interesting; Rockstar doesn't talk about RAGE as a separate product from its games, likely because it doesn't license the tech.
gtaonlinearcade The arcade area added to GTA Online would look amazing with ray-traced lighting.
It's not hard to imagine what sort of features the game engine might include to warrant that description. Heavy usage of ray-traced graphics will go a long way toward impressive presentation, but based on what we've heard in the past about GTA VI, it seems likely that the latest RAGE might be more impressive in its ability to scale content from infinitesimal details all the way up to gigantic cityscapes. We've seen demonstrations of similar technology in Epic Games' Unreal Engine 5, and given the nature of "GTA", such capability would be perfectly suited to the games.
gta5crowd
Another impressive characteristic in GTA VI might just be the NPC AI. Historically, Grand Theft Auto's NPCs have been extremely simple stand-ins mostly intended to give the scene a realistic look without having much in the way of personality or believable behavior. That could all change in the next GTA game, based on a patent filed in October 2020.
From what we've heard, the next Grand Theft Auto title will be set in Vice City once again, so look forward to exploring the city's tropical environs. No word on the chronological setting, though; it could be set as far back as the Cuban Missile Crisis, or it could be set in the modern day. We also don't know necessarily what platforms the title will appear for, but based on Rockstar's history, we'd expect it to be available for the PS5 and Xbox before it appears on PC later.

2023.04.01 08:37 StepwiseUndrape574 Grand Theft Auto V Loads Up To 92 Percent Faster On PS5 Than PS4 In Early Tests

2023.04.01 08:36 horror- CRTemudriver is working- here's how I did it.

CRTemudriver is working, Retroarch is configured with super-resolutions, and I'm finally collecting retroachievements on the consumer CRT @ native console and arcade resolution.
Windows 10- Radeon 5750 DVI-i to VGA to Aliexpress transcoder to component to Sony KV-32FS13 - 32" Trinitron. It's a thing of wonder. I bought a shit load of hardware and cables and adapters and other crap I didn't actually need in my quest to get a signal to this TV. Don't be me. Think before you buy- there's a few different ways to do this, and it can be pretty confusing at first.
I started HERE. I had to experiment a little bit with installing modes to get all the Retroarch cores working and wrap my head around super resolutions, and I had to manually change the x and y size to 0 in the main retroarch config after enabling CRTswitchres to get it all going. When I first got started, nothing would sync right to the TV because I didn't have the resolutions installed and it was defaulting to 1080p- This thread was the breakthrough on understanding usermodes for me. Once the software was straight I had to go into the TVs scary service menu and fix the huge overscan to make the picture usable at all. I chose to do it this way instead of using the arcadeOSD tool to avoid having to do it over and over for every resolution. I went ahead and installed Groovymame (and Fightcade too) but Retroarch was all I really needed in the end.
I don't have a second monitor hooked up- I instead use tightVNC server and usbmmid v2 to install a virtual second monitor, and set it as a system service to activate the virtual monitor on login. This way I can remote in and control the system at 1080p instead of 480i- much easier. The remote CRT screen actually stretches way out on account of the super resolution, but running tightVNC client at 75% scale gets me just the virtual 1080p screen to admin the system.
As far as input, I have a whole collection of OEM controllers and adapters and bluetooth for every system I play, and a home-made 2 player arcade control pedestal based on the ipac from Ultimarc. Update the control profiles in Retroarch and autoconfig inputs and it all pretty much just works. Add in the Retroarch runahead predictive input latency sorcery and it's basically black Fkn Magic as far as latency goes. It's just gone.
I hope this was helpful! the rest is just me gushing about how much fun I'm having.
I've been rocking SNES, Dreamcast, 32x, NES, and Lots of arcade games with 1:1 pixel emulation and it's glorious. I keep jumping between the real thing and emulation on the same screen looking for differences. I've found none. Any time anybody walks in the room they can just grab a random ass controller off the wall and jump right in like they just dropped a quarter into the slot.
I've also gotten a few games of Hades and dead cells in on the TV too, and I'm looking forward to seeing what other modern games I can fit into a 4:3 480i screen.
Plex seems to run fine as well, Standard def content looks great, and some of my lower quality content looks perfectly clean on this screen- which is actually better than the same content with the powered hdmi to vga adapter I had been using before swapping display adapters.
Next weekend will be front-end exploration. I'm a big fan of emulation station on both my retropie and Steamdeck, but the multiple screen setups and I've seen with Launchbox and Bigbox are pretty neat and look like they might be the ticket to integrating my massive steam library into this CRT setup as well. I would love to hear some suggestions.
The one thing I still cant quite solve is the retroarch on-screen notifications scaling to the super resolution and basically being unreadable on the CRT- Things like achievement notifications and controller port and refresh rate notifications. I managed to change them from the pretty graphical tile back to the simple yellow on screen text- and I changed the font size to something readable, but the notifications themselves are still horizontally stretched way out due to the super resolutions and I can't find a way to scale them back to display properly on the TV. I would love some suggestions if you made it this far.
