I would like to know if someone here had an alternative to situation that's been going on. Is it wrong to interact with spirits? Is it satanic to talk about spirits? Is it witchcraft to bless a house?
Why do I ask? Because my girlfriends mom (who believes in god but doesn't believe spirits are real) claims that anything to do with blessing a house or ghosts is satanic and witchcraft; (that also includes anything to do with angels and demons).
She doesn't believe in ghosts, guardian angels, lost souls or demons, yet she claims that she believes that both Jesus and Satan are real and biblical!
I should also mention that she thinks that the baptists are the only correct denomination and that all Catholics are evil and somehow apart of a satanic occult that does blood sacrifices to Satan. (She also believes that Catholics are not religious and don't believe in Jesus; and all they do is pray and worship Mary)!
The reason for my post is so I can have a better understanding on what I can do regarding spirits and blessing a house?!
I told her that the bible talks a lot about the existence of spirits, angels and demons. I told her that The bible only every claims that meduims and necromancers and are considered Witchcraft. I told her that the bible does in fact except blessing a house as biblical and exceptable to the Lord. In fact it talks a lot about the usage of sage, olive oil, essential oils and the usage of blessed sheeps blood.
However, because her "fiancee" who is a "Baptist preacher" claims to have "read the Bible" and that I'm somehow wrong and involved in witchcraft; (also claims that being spiritual isn't considered biblical)!
My girlfriend claims she has demons insider her house. (Hellhounds, hell nuns, poltergeist, doppelgangers possessive spirits; even a hell pimp). The problem is that her mom and sister thinks my girlfriend is crazy and on meth and included in witchcraft for claiming that she has spirits inside the house.
My question is what can I do to help her get rid of the spirits and help her mom understand that being spiritual isn't Witchcraft???

 | FENCING. I know this is a subject all its own (surprised there's no Reddit on this, at least as far as I can tell). This year’s goal is to build a more aesthetic and functional fence. We're in Year #3 of the garden, and problem pests have been (in order of headache): rabbits and groundhogs, chipmunks (sucked all the tomatoes last year in the heat/drought), mice (in supply bin), possum (occasional), raccoons (not in garden), and deer (also not in garden). We have coyotes and fisher cats in the area and lots of green space so, I guess, it feels like there’s not a *lot* of determined infiltration. submitted by QualityGig to gardening [link] [comments] The design to date is 4' u-posts with standard coated welded wire fencing along with 2' of chicken wire at the bottom (1' comes up the face of the fence and 1' flares out into the yard and grows down into the grass). Deer don't seem interested in jumping the fence, but chipmunks and anything small have free reign. Most of the rest of the pest issues have to do with a poor door, but I have a good plan on that. Where I really want to 'nail it' is a new perimeter fence. Thinking of sinking 4x4 posts to 4’ high with cattle panels in between. Then, add a finer mesh lower down and below ground. I'm thinking of also facing the post bottoms with 1x6 boards to create a growing opportunity along the fence itself (as well as another barrier). I'd reuse the chicken wire and splay it out into the yard to prevent digging at the fence itself. Cross-sectional view from inside garden (left) to outside lawn (right) Main question is "How well will this work?" More detailed questions are "For the finer mesh at the very bottom and below grade, what material (hardware cloth?), what size mesh, how tall above ground, and how deep below ground?" I get pests are a common, evolving situation. Like everyone, want to keep everything out. We're not growing food for them -- We're growing for us. Willing to share a bit . . . but don't like seeing ALL the kohlrabi leaves eaten all at once! Also, I’ve considered whether to make panels and even posts removable to make for a cleaner space/view during the winter. There are days where things get really bad. I look at some parts of my body and want to cry. I cover up as much of myself as possible because I don't want people to see me. I can barely stand hearing my voice, and my genitals look so ugly. Seeing body hair (even the prickly stuff) is enough to get my heart rate spiking and I don't even have the heart to look in the mirror. I feel like crawling out if my skin or ripping it off. My body feels out of proportion. Hearing my name makes me cringe. I see girls outside and I feel sad because I'm not one of them. I hate my male clothes with a passion. It hurts so bad.
Not all my days are like that and even when I feel bad I don't typically get all of that all at once or as severe or anything. And I really want to transition when I'm like this because I feel like I'm stuck in a slowly rotting shell or something.
But then there are days like right now where I'm fine. I feel fine. I don't feel the dysphoria. No fan of my body hair or name but it doesn't elicit much of a reaction. Heck I almost look good in some respects. And I hate that. Part of me almost wants me to hate my body when I'm like this because right now it feels like all the stuff I've been through is fake or something...but I don't hate it. I still want to picture myself ten years down the line as a woman, but right now I'm okay being a guy I guess, even though it's not super comfy. It all no longer seems as important anymore I guess, it feels like I shouldn't act on something so trivial when I'm like this.

hey ya all, i have just finished it and I thought it was a parody. From the start. And I laughed a lot. I can'tbe the only, right? I mean the camera movement and the actors are very intriguing, but the story is just super ridiculous. Look at their clothing. Dean is wearing an all beige outfit, even his cap is beige. Nora is also mostly wearing, grey or all white outfit, even their pajamas are like that.. and her glasses always looked so funny to me. So misplaced. She never works as many have pointed out. The kids never go to school. The kid Carter is not traumatized by the dead ferret. Elli exists only as someone who wears lipstick and has a relationship with Dakota. The neighbors are so strange and funny, like the tropes of any scary movie: the weird adult neighbor who is traumatized, strange but harmless; an elderly couple that is watching them and wearing weird outfits; the sister that goes on about the precious history of the super white neighborhood? All these strange characters and all of them, except Dean maybe, lack personality! The most funny twist was the one with the Camera in the bed room, like wtf and the scene in which Dean was just sleeping. I just laughed my ass off. This gotta be all a weird parody on the scary movie genre that depicts the typical white American family moving in a horror house and bougie white neighborhood.

In the cult I was in, pop music was not really allowed and before I was in the cult, I had been pursuing a career as an artist and songwriter. I got to work with bbno$ mv director who is lowkey a genius, and in the music vid we hired lookalikes of my former cult leader to play the disciplines in a fictional cult of which I was the leader (it was the most fun day of my life and we put in a bunch of oblique references to the actual cult, like sheep farming bc they were actually into that). Leaving a cult is such a unique experience and it was really empowering for me to turn it into art, and my hope is that the song and mv makes other cult survivors feel the same sense of empowerment when they listen to it so I wanted to share it here. Might not be for everyone but if you like pop, you might connect with it :) I really needed a song like this when I was leaving (and some days I still do) and I really hope this finds anybody else who needs it too. It has been about ten months since I last updated the Báthory saga. Ten months and three more disappearances. I am not sure where the dumping ground for the devoured cadavers has moved to, but I am all too aware of where Báthory is the vast majority of the time.

But how can I grade in a timely fashion when I still have to be a husband and father at home, then use my old sleeping hours to conduct the research necessary to stop Báthory? Grading is slipped in between meetings and classes during my work day. The few hours between work and “bed time” are to ensure my burden does not destroy my family, and then I browse through online sources for any glimmer of information that could banish this malevolent entity.
Honestly, the late night research hours sometimes work to my advantage. I have moved beyond keeping the scope of research limited to Native American folklore and mythology. I have expanded to any and all strains of supernatural belief across the globe. You know, a completely realistic and manageable scope. I’m not running headlong into a swirling vortex of paranoia and guilt induced insanity, I swear. You just have to have solid, healthy coping mechanisms. The off-brand sugar-free Sour Patch Kids that I devour like a hangry Kronos keep the crazies away. Down the hatch blue raspberry Poseidon.
But, back to how being a night owl researcher has worked to my advantage. Many of the repositories that I contact in search of ancient tomes on mythology and lore are overseas. The time difference means that even though it is the wee hours for me, it is normal business time for some of them. Language barriers be damned, I have Google Translate on my side. Oh, and also the motivation of not wanting to continue being an accessory to appalling murders. That helps me to get my point across the linguistic gaps to these archivists a lot too.
I have already racked up an impressive selection of books of mythology, demonology, and every other topic that could possibly lend some insight to the origins and weaknesses of my shadowy companion. Composed of ancient first editions, reprints, translations, and original copies, the stack has taken over the entire right side of my desk and the coffee table next to the visitors chair in my office. It has been slow going to get through the books. Even when I can locate a colleague that can help with translations, there is often an issue with dialects or other translation hurdles that slow the quest for illumination. Not to mention the probing questions about what exactly my research goals are.
I have spun so many incoherent stevia-fueled lies that I have lost track of what I tell everyone I am on about. The sleep deprivation tends to leave me unprepared for the question and each query receives an off-the-cuff response that never seems entirely satisfactory. It is a good thing I already had a reputation for being a bit eccentric.
Then again, the rumors about how I am linked to the death of that medium might be a more compelling reason for many to lend a helping hand to the rambling, disheveled, wide-eyed professor that storms into their office looking for assistance with analyzing passages of arcane ghost stories.
Keeping my hoard of esoteric books in the center of Báthory’s hunting grounds and conducting my research throughout the fields of prey turned out to be the opposite of a well conceived plan. When prepping a trap for a predator, you should probably not shop for the supplies in its lair.
Keep in mind, I never once claimed to be the Napoleon of monster hunting.
A few days ago I stepped from my office for a quick faculty meeting. I know for a fact that the office door was shut completely behind me, I am a bit obsessive about making sure I close doors behind me. Just be sure that it was fully shut, you will understand why I am emphasizing it here in a minute or two.
After a speedy yet frustrating faculty meeting about details that could have been an email and a shortcut to gather some more snackables, I set off to return to my lair of gothic readings. Imagine my surprise when I found the door ajar.
Imagine my surprise when I entered the room and found the wall smeared with gore and the crumpled body of a student topped with the stump of what had once been a head on the floor.
The bright green collared polo and slacks were still immaculate. His black and white sneakers were as clean as if he was trying them on fresh from the box. The only thing askew was that his neck ended in a still oozing stump and a viscous concoction of skull, skin, brain, and blood was smeared around a rather deep hole in the drywall. This wasn’t the kind of drywall hole a Mountain Dew infused Kyle creates after losing a match on Call of Duty, this was the kind of hole a sledgehammer wielded by someone with a bloody glee in their heart creates.
Naturally, after a brief shocked yelp and unceremoniously depositing my lunch on the floor I called the police. A murder had just occurred in my office. I knew the police could never catch this particular culprit, but what else was I supposed to do when faced with a corpse in my office? Wait for the custodians to take it away with the gummi wrappers and other garbage?
Imagine my surprise when the first responding officer had also been there to question me at the medium’s death. And oh boy, did he definitely recognize me. That stern face was clearly practiced. His face had the round quality of a cheerful baker in a Disney cartoon. Eyes not hardened by years of stress and worry. This was someone who could leave work at the office, but turn on the character while in uniform.
If you are wondering, he did not seem to regard my presence at another death scene as an unwelcome coincidence. His face had more of an “I knew this motherfucker was up to no good” quality to it than surprise or any other reaction. Can you blame him? First I was walking with someone who just happened to start screaming before running away from me into traffic and now one of my students looked like he was trying to spread brain jam on my office wall. He knew I am connected to the deaths somehow.
If only he would believe the truth. If I told him, I would definitely have a Netflix documentary sooner rather than later.
He asked me the normal, if you can call them that, interview questions. We discussed my whereabouts, the identity of the victim, and the timeline of events.
Not buying what I was selling, he decided to pull the security footage. I offered up no objections, the tape would clearly exonerate me. But I also knew it would not provide any evidence he would accept of another, more sinister, culprit.
Just as I had stated, the video showed me leaving my office at the time I had provided. About three minutes later, the student could be seen entering my office.
But how? I know I had shut the door.
Unfortunately, the angle of the camera did not show the latch side of my door, and thus there was no evidence that I had securely shut it. Clearly, according to the officer, I had misremembered. We had both watched the student enter with no resistance. He just pushed the door open. I asked the officer to play back the tape from after I left.
What was I looking for? The shadow that played along the wall toward my door about a minute after I left.
Báthory had set a trap for both the student and myself.
Báthory had had enough of my meddling.
But why not just kill me?
The next part of the video showed me returning, making the gruesome discovery, and calling the police after soiling myself. No evidence of anyone else ever having entered or left my office.
Except for that shadow again.
Releasing me upon my own recognizance, the officer asked if I took one last look at the scene to see if I noticed anything unusual. Aside from the Pollock-esque redecoration my wall had undergone. I indicated to the officer that I did not.
But that was a lie.
About a quarter way down the stack of books on my desk had been a hefty tome bound in faded blue and gilded with dull silver lettering. That book stood out to me among the others due to its age and quality of craftsmanship.
It was no longer in the stack.
That book had the key to Báthory.
You sly bitch.
I racked my brain to remember the origin of that book.
French? Slavic? Uzbek?
I could search through my spreadsheet, find its metadata, and track down any copies if my office wasn’t now a crime scene and everything in it evidence. I would have to find the book itself.

I live in Las Vegas in a sketchy area and yesterday took an uber to get a loan and then walked to the 7/11 to load my Greendot debit card. I didn't feel well all of a sudden and sat down at the slot machine and still wasn't feelingvwell and just laid down in the aisle. This happens to me quite often where I dint feel well and don't have the strength to do anything but lay down for 5 or 10 minutes. 95% of the time I feel better after 5 or 10 minutes. Manager came over and told me to get up and leave but I couldn't force myself and told her to give me 5 or 10 minutes. She then says she is calling police. I said nothing as I just couldn't get up and walk away. After about 10 minutes I was able to get up and sit at the slot machine and order my Uber. As I was doing that the police came...she called 911. The police talk to her and then to me and tell me to leave and say they read me the trespass act per her request and trespassed ne from every 7/11 in the city. She took a picture of me on her phone. Yes, the area is full of homeless and they have a huge problem with homeless in that store but it was pretty obvious I wasn't some homeless druggie as I just spent $400 cash loading my card and I am clean with new clean clothes on. BTW, not once did she ask me if I will be OK or offer to call ambulance. She straight up right away called 911 and asked for the police to be sent.

If you consider that anything you encounter, is an obstacle to experience the now, then I ask you what is the obstacle if not the experience. For many years I’ve worn clothing with many X’s because I hated myself and didn’t care how clothes fitted. Now I do actually care and lost a lot of weight, I’m finding it near impossible to find out what my actual size is.
I wore 42 inch jeans at my largest and to my amazement I fit into 34 inch jeans the other day. I then tried my luck at trying some fancy River Island jeans on, and I couldn’t get them over my thighs. Supposedly the exact same fit and size of the 34 inch jeans I bought elsewhere. Same for tops: I’ve been wearing 2xl for ages, bought some 2xl tops and I feel well and truly sausaged trying to fit into them.
My Mrs has the same problem. She has a big arse (her words) and she can fit into size 14 jeans in some places, but can’t even fit into a size 16 in others.
Why is this even a thing? Why are clothes advertised as being one size but are actually far smaller? I get if something is labelled as ‘slim fit’ etc, but I never buy clothes like that and the sizes are all over the place.
TL;DR Fat guy didnt care about clothing sizes for years, now does care while losing weight but can’t actually figure out my size due to sizing differing wildly from place to place. Wants to know why this is a thing.

In september I will start at a welding school but have to buy my own clothing. I am really stuck on welding hoods because there are so many. I heard Sugar scoops and pancakes are popular for pipe welding but i also see people use many other hoods. Any advice for what hoods are a good option? I live in Belgium, EU.
