I keep getting different advice from so many different people, but in the end this is my life I'm gambling with. One wrong move and I could end up homeless. I signed with this school on May 8th, as a high school English teacher, after quitting a 10-month contract job that I had and that ensured me EI for July and August and even sickdays and holiday. I switched over for a couple dollar hourly wage increase. So, I work this new job, and they paid me less than half of what I'm entitled to get on May 20th. I was shocked. I complained, and so they stalled for weeks and made promises to rectify it on the next payroll period. June 6th comes, and the pay is wrong again. So, I complain again, and at this point they are bouncing me between each other: "go to him," "email her," "do this," "do that." They said I was an independent contractor, not entitled to holiday or sick days, or even paystubs. I am teaching OLC4O to their students, a course the kids need to graduate high school, by the way.
They are saying the reason this is a problem is because I did not record my online teaching using Adobe. The issue is my schedule was really busy, and they didn't train me on it. I expressed to them many times I was having technical difficulties with it. The vice-principal even referred me to a person I can email and their response was "we don't have experience with macs, but here's a [very unhelpful] link." I finally got it to work on my own, outside contract hours, but now I keep asking to get paid for my unpaid work (about 30 hours or so), and i am gettinng the run around. I threatened them with the Ministry of Labour but they don't seem to care, even ignoring my emails. I literally have an email from them saying "we will compensate you on the next paycheque," and a message from my VP with a photo of my timetable. But they don't care, still. I would have quit earlier but I believed them and said "okay, my money will arrive soon" as they stalled for time. I was naive, and now they financially drained me; I am in so much credit card debt, and I've had multiple anxiety attacks, I feel sick to my stomach all the time. I'm late on rent; I can't afford my car payments, nor any of my bills.
I will file a complaint with the ministry of labour, but it might take time to process and it's not guaranteed. An agent on the phone told me they may have misclassified me (as an independent contractor), and that it didn't make sense. A friend who used to work for EI told me to get a sick leave doctor's note for my anxiety and apply to EI, but I think as an independent contractor I may not be entitled to sick leave EI, or even regular teacher EI.

So my ex and I started seeing each other in August 2022 and broke up this January (2023). After roughly 6 months of dating, I wasn't able to really commit to anything and had a lot of insecurities that led to a breakdown between us where I put too much pressure on her to kind of show/help me experience what life/partying was like as an early-20 year old because that was a big area I felt I had missed out on.
Honestly, when we met I didn't even want to be dating anyone, just having fun and experience single life/hooking up with people. Mostly because I was going through a divorce at the time (first time being single as an adult), and really wasn't ready to jump back into a serious relationship. Since we broke up I've been in therapy and working on myself, and I think I am at the point where I do want to get back into dating for a relationship.
Obviously, I want to try again with the woman that I fell for when I was actively trying not to fall for anyone. But at this point I'm not sure what to do or say to her besides just asking her if she's willing to catch up and go on a walk or something so we can talk. I'm nervous that she'll say no and absolutely crush me because this woman is really what caused me to realize I needed therapy and I had issues to work out, and I know that a lot of the motivation for me doing that was because I wanted to be in a better spot so I could be happy with myself, but also because I wanted to get into a place where I could try to date her seriously.

I delivered to the craziest city ever. Trailer homes and wild dogs. I would literally pull up to a palce and there would be two or three wild large dogs waiting to tear me to pieces. It’s like they live in a mad max film. I had to throw two packs out the window and literally the dogs were nipping at my car and trying to take my car down ! They almost got ran over too. Another one earlier in the night it was totally dark and I did t know a dog was posted at this guys house (no leashe) and barely made it to my car in time. This is ridiculous. Then I had a scheduled block the next day I totally missed and slept thru because I was about traumatized over this experience. Anyone else ever witness wild dogs roaming around ? I drove by a pack of 9 when leaving. Imagine just walking around with no car and running into one of those groups

Be aware though, the server turns full PVP for the weekend with raiding, but don't worry! As there are no helis, you can hide your base pretty well with lower risk of bandits finding it.
Does this all sound too good to be true? Well, for now it is. The server is very new and currently lowpop, but the admins and the current community is friendly and helpful. Instead of shutting down all 3rd party apps, an alternative service (Yet another Reddit clone) can be created to serve them. Other than having to sign up and not having any content at first, the user experience will be the same. Hopefully the communities will be able to migrate and recover.
Easier said than done, sure. But it's a way to save this whole ecosystem of 3rd party apps.

I was accepted as a freshman, however committed to UO. I’m right now having second thoughts and actually preferred OSU much more. I’m still thinking it over, so not quite sure if I should switch or even just go to a completely different college like CC or my city college.
I got a message about how enrollment for OSU has been jam packed this year, theres a waitlist, and once you reject or go past May 1st might not get your scholarships or even a spot back.

I wanted to ask if there had been any discussion from Crytek about the matchmaking experiment they put in place in patch 1.12. According to the megathread the initial announcement of improvement of wait times for 6* players was buried in a developer update video and didn’t make it into patch notes.
I haven’t seen or heard any updates about how they think it’s going, but I wanted to make sure I hadn’t missed something else deep in a video release.

Hey all, throwaway as my wife knows my main account. TLDR at the bottom. My wife and I have been together for 14 years, married 8. We’ve had some issues over the past couple years tied to having kids and other items that led me to seek a separation. We were separated but still living together for about a month and a half and during that time we both became very honest with each other. I ended up having a near death experience and it sort of changed my perspective. I realized I really wanted to stay a family and I wanted to work on things to try and keep our home together. Outside of those occurrences I have 0 desire to do anything physical with her and I think that her faking has a lot to do with it.

Been loving TOTK and am taking my sweet time with the game so haven’t used my voucher yet. Of the games I mentioned what would you suggest?
Never played the original Link’s Awakening, but another Zelda game could feel tiring while I already have TOTK. The amazing reception of the game and art style make it so tempting to just go with it.
I started Skyward Sword sometime in 2018-2020 and got to the first encounter with Ghirahim. I recall him blocking all of my swings. I was loving that game too with the unconventional controls and got a third party Wii motion plus controller just to play it. Got busy/distracted and never finished it, but again, another Zelda rn could feeling exhausting. And the game looks like it’s showing it’s age a bit gameplay wise but I could be wrong.
3D World would just be good reliable quick fun. I had it on Wii U but probably haven’t played it in 5+ years. Never 100% beat it, but I did love that game as well as 3D Land. Outside of Bowser’s Fury, the majority of the experience wouldn’t be new like the Zelda titles would be.
Mario Maker 2 is a game I haven’t followed up on much since release. I got hand on the 3DS version a long time ago and enjoyed what I played. But I don’t know how I feel about relying on user created levels. I’m not into the extremely Kaizo type levels nor am I that into creating levels, but I do love Mario platforming games in general. With all the 2D Mario games on the virtual console I have access to now, it makes it harder to justify getting this.
Dark Horse: Pikmin 4. I have never owned a Pikmin game, but I played a Pikmin 3 demo on the Wii U and remember finally understanding why so many people love that series. I sunk hours into the demo and wanted to play the full game, but wasn’t willing to spend $60 on it.
Based on this info what should I go with? Feel free to mention another game I may be overlooking as I don’t own most of them. I own the major ones like Splatoon 3, Smash Bros, MK8, and Odyssey. Thanks.
