Have any Rust players in the UK or EU tested the legality of Battlemetrics publishing and selling what might be defined as your protected personal information. PII is any information that is protected and identifiable when combined with all personal information. (Player name, which can be used to find Steam ID; total play time and games played when)? Steam protected this information as user-configurable back in 2018.
Do any Rust servers ask players to consent to a third party company using our personal information for their own unrelated commercial gain? I haven't seen a mechanism for them to do that transparently.
If anyone in the UK wants to test the waters, visit https://www.gov.uk/data-protection/make-a-complaint (I would if I could)
EDIT: It looks like EU players can opt out of Battlemetrics upon request, like this player: https://www.battlemetrics.com/players/768376070/sessions

EDIT: This is from the BM privacy policy. It seems to me that any streamer can request that their data on BM is hidden without the extortion fee. In fact, this entry completely undermines the business model of streamers having to pay to hide their presence because stream snipers are able to identify them and their online activity:
If the request concerns information associated with a player profile, you will need to provide proof that the information is personally identifiable and that you are associated with the information contained on that player profile.
EDIT: There is an experiment you can do below that shows that BM publishes data that is not available through Steam API.

Recently, I purchased Vrising after noticing the similarities it shares with my favorite games, "Rust" and "Dota 2". However, I was disappointed to find that the majority of the servers were empty, leaving me with very few options. I joined the most populated server available ([EU] Official #1160 by G-Portal.com), which only had five players. I spent four hours exploring the map and completing the tutorial, but I didn't encounter any other players. Suddenly, the server went offline, and it hasn't come back online since. I'm hoping to get some insight into what happened or if this was just an unfortunate first impression.

2 years ago, we set out to create a server that strives to provide a place for all levels of play. In that time we have gained several regular players and are always looking for more. We have grown to be in the top 15% on Battlemetrics ranking.
As long as you keep it civil, we are not concerned about your team/group/clan size. We don’t have a Non-Raiding time it is allowed anytime (although modified).
We lean more into the PVE aspect, but not completely doing away with raiding. Base Damage is reduced during offline time but not gone completely, and Sulfur gather rate will be slightly lower than other ore.
