I bought a 2003 Honda vtx 1800c last year it had this board wired in for what seems to be custom running/brake lights and recently discovered turn signals that had rotted wires, while trying to rewire turn signals I fucked up and shorted this board out.. I haven't had any luck finding it online yet. However it's setup allows only 2 wires to go to the running/brake lights without the power for running back feeding into brake light power please can anyone help me figure out what/where this board is from.. ik small hopes trying to redo already custom things.. apparently I can't post pictures here so all numbers I can find on the board are as follows

It has a ground in and ground out wire, running input wire, left and right turn signal in and out, brake in and out
So 5 wires from the bike feeding into the board and 4 wires come off the board to lighting

I marked this humor because I can’t figure out what else would be accurate…
The parent community at my school is going to the school board because they are dropping their children off late and therefore their children are marked tardy. The parents don’t believe their children should be marked tardy even though they’re getting there late. I cannot make this shit up.
They are also going to the school board to complain that the fact that they have jumped the curb and run their cars into the school building is not a good enough reason for the school to close down the loops to prevent the parents from their dangerous driving behaviors. After last weeks banning of many pro BBBY OGs who had posted DD the sub has turned into a very FUD heavy mess.
One of the posts on the front page right now claims 5 million shorts have been closed today but the price dropped. Why is that?
Because first thing this morning they dropped the price at open by dumping 5 Million shares.

Every post needing mod approval should weed out clearly wrong misinformation but has clearly done the opposite. The amount of FUD, Misinformtion and flagrantly wrong information has only increased.
Last week at the time of the banning there was admission by the mods that there were attempts to buy mod spots but the only name given was a pro BBBY OG who turned out not to have tried to buy a mod spot at all.

Where does this leave us? Honestly, I don't know, since all we can really do is trust in the board and trust in what we know to be true.

1. BBBY is unlikely to go BK with the extra cash and lower costs
2. 2017 Revenue was very similar to last year's and the share price was $50-80
3. Historically BBBY had 270+ mil shares.
4. They didn't have a thriving BABY back then
5. Even with FULL dilution, that leaves a $12.50-20 share price with BK off the table
6. Shorts would still need to close offsetting 100mil plus shares of dilution.
7. Much of the shorting happened pre equity deal so couldn't have bought diluted shares
8. Dilution itself is a misnomer because it adds CASH to the company through conversion, while dilution implies a decrease in value
9. It doesn't make sense for a buyer to take 8% profit now when they can get much more waiting for the above, even if they were getting a bargain using the alternate conversion.
10. Shorts are still pushing FUD, if their play was the equity deal or drive down the price why keep trying to make us sell, there is little extra value to be extracted.

Trust yourself, Mind the details, Ignore those claiming to have good intentions, Triple check everything, especially sources.

So looking for some opinions. I know most of it will be biased, and I'm guilty of it myself but here goes:
I currently have a 2021 MYLR, with about 42k miles on it... While initially I loved it (and still do to a certain extent), I am starting to get a little bored and now the squeaks, rattles, ride quality and road noise is starting to wear on me. I have done TeslaRPM's insulation package which has reduced some of the road noise, and I have tires that aren't as harsh as the OEM's, but it's not perfect, plus the suspension is another matter, which I don't feel like upgrading... SO I'm hunting for a new EV, but i've narrowed it down to two choices, both super expensive compared to the $56k I paid for the Y...
Choice 1: A 2023 Model S (not plaid) (found a couple Demo Models in NJ that are between $83 - 87k). Advantages, still get to use the Supercharger network when on Roadtrips. I do 90% of my charging at home, so it wouldn't be much of a change, but I would lose the storage capacity that I have from the Y and the tow-hitch (Only used it to mount a bike rack). But is it worth the trade in? How is the build quality in comparison between the two? I have read on here that some people feel it's slipped compared to previous years of the S, but compared to the Y idk? Another advantage is I would be able to keep my Winter Wheel/Tire setup and use it on the S
Choice 2: A 2023 BMW IX 50. Yes I know a BMW, but fit and finish is worlds ahead of Tesla, but I lose the Supercharger network, but since 90% of my charging is at home it's not a huge deal, until it is and I'm running around trying to find an EA charger that is working correctly on a Road Trip, it does come with 2 years of unlimited EA charging, so that's a small consolation. Performance is on Par with the Y (with Accel. Boost), and cargo capacity is slightly larger, but doesn't have the frunk (not that I used that much). Same as above I could use my current winter tire setup on the IX, but I would need a 5x112 to 5x114.3 spacer adapter, not ideal but doable. I've owned 5 BMWs prior to get the Model Y, so I'm familiar with the Brand (2008 335, 2013 X5, 2015 X3, 2017 330, 2017 X3)
Of Course my wife thinks I should just stay with the Y, but she doesn't like the Y, thinks it noisy (the above issues) and doesn't like the ride quality compared to her 2023 Mercedes Benz GLA 250 or her previous 2017 BMW X3.
I do have a Pre-order Reservation on a Cybertruck, but probably will request a refund because honesty other than it being different than a regular truck, I don't really need a truck. What are you guys thoughts, and while I know it will be biased, please try and be open minded, let me know...

I usually play Admech but fancied starting a Chaos space marine army. I've gone Word Bearers as I want to run my list as a Daemon summoning cult (I RP all my lists) and they seem the best for that with their daemonkin stuff. I know a fat block of terminators is super meta right now but I wanted to avoid that, mostly for the sake of being contrary. I don't do tournaments so I am not after a super meta competitive list. But I do want to win every now and then. So the army is based around the possessed as the main beatstick. The plan is to drive them up the table into the bulk of the enemy forces, supported by two MSU squads of Khorne iconed chainsword wielding legionaries in a rhino. Accursed cultists are there to screen and draw attention (and background wise are the cults failures, kept around as cannon fodder). Two more squads of msu legionaries hold objectives/do secondaries in the centre of the board and mostly shoot targets of opportunity. Daemon prince is the cults great success and acts as a targeted cruise missile sent at the nastiest thing the enemy has, particularly heavy armour. Hex ward helps him stay alive long enough to nuke whatever he touches. Damage D3+3 weapon and full rerolls on hits and wounds. Plus mortals and lots of strength and attacks from mark.of Khorne. MoP and sorcerer buff all the things backed by the venomcrawler. Warp talons scoot around the flanks to decimate light infantry, command squads, heavy weapon teams, etc (full rerolls on attacks and wounds with 5 attacks each. Oooof!). Master of Executioners with exalted possession let's him keep up with the possessed and kills enemy characters, Dreadnaughts, etc. Provides some charge defense with mark of slaanesh and improved heroic intervention range. Turn two sees the obliterators teleport in and lay waste to whatever seems most problematic at the time. I know they aren't considered terrible points effective but I wanted all the daemonkin. Helbrute is only there because I had 130pt to spare and dual lascannons gave me a bit more anti-armour which the list is otherwise a.little short on (basically just the Daemon prince and oblits). Power scourge with word Bearers will shred most things in combat and mark of tzeentech makes it tankier.
So is there anything obvious I am missing? Anything that is on the list that really sucks/isn't going to work in combo with other units/etc? Any neat tricks I have missed?
I would really like some feedback before plunking down too much money on the minis.

Spooky enters the Arena of AGIMA-D with a Metric score of 919. I'm hoping that if we don't win, we can hope for 3rd and a minor gain to keep from invalidating it from the Experiment. We can try again, if worse comes to worst. Seems like decent competition; a few memorable names in Joral and Roover. We'll hope our focused Training is enough.
Scroud- We see the payoff for our Training right away: the investment in bulking lets Spooky take damage better. Scroud has trouble making a meaningful hit, and a couple of well-aimed attacks to it create an unbridgeable lead, scoring the win.
Roover- Spooky's aim has improved greatly, and it gets an opportunity to show off its raw power. Though Roover made some good connections, ours were also numerous and potent. Second win. I can see Richard in a stupor up above the stadium, jumping with unbridled glee; perhaps the Glass will break from his clacky heels. Let's hope during Intermission.
Molmorio- probably the most worrisome so far, Molmorio has agility to be envious of. Its attacks are manageable, but we have trouble hitting it at all. Spooky did have some luck near the end, and its damage is... Pretty scary. The rest of the fight didn't matter. That one hit was gruesome, securing the victory in dramatic fashion.
Breeze- This is a simple case of an unfair difference. Spooky is too resilient, and we're able to return Breeze's blows with added force. Looking very good so far. This will be sure to get the Board fired up, and perhaps make an attempt to Address my Complaint in case... Something bad happens. Complaining to me about Procedure; I'll show them what's what.
Final opponent of the tournament is Joral. This little teddy bear is not to be trifled with. We get a few connections in, but Joral is the most powerful opponent yet. It hits us hard and does much better landing its hits consistently. Spooky must have gotten dazed from the trade of blows. Unfortunate loss.
Tallying the scores, we share the spot of 1st with Molmorio. How bad can it be? More importantly, how did Joral get beaten by it?
We repeat the same outcome as before. This fight seems nearly unwinnable for Molmorio. We secure the first place with raucous applause and a giddy Richard stumbling over himself in high spirits- and high from his spirits. Our Metrics raise to 953. Eek. Thankful that we succeeded. I try to rush out of there with Spooky before I'm noticed by an obviously hammered Richard. Great success. Perhaps I should give myself some praise this time.
The original plan is to give Spooky another Nutrient and let it rest, but the Discount Training is scheduled for this Month. Spooky seems to still have some energy, so I take the gamble and we coordinate well, performing above expectation. The Teacher hits us with a critical blow near the end, sadly netting them the win. We're running out of opportunities to learn new Skills, and another missed opportunity to do so in this instance is disheartening. Spooky put its all into each of its fights, though- I'll try to not seem too proud. It needs some time to recover- exhaustion is setting in, and if not from the battles, then from the overamped Collar that likes to scream his face red during Training.

I run a small development team that primarily builds custom websites using Drupal, but we're part of a marketing agency and thus there is inevitably going to be a request for something as cheap as possible. Sometimes I even agree that the client's budget is best spent elsewhere and am on board with finding a good solution!
We've tried doing the "buy a WordPress template and customize as needed" approach but it usually ends up being a giant mess with terrible code, often spending longer working around or undoing things we don't need than if we'd just designed it from scratch. We even built a simple, modular site using Drupal and used it for a few years to pretty good success, but it's been hard to keep it updated as we evolve our process for new projects so it has become quite outdated 4-5 years later.
So, I'm on the hunt for the perfect solution: high quality, visually interesting design templates but without terrible, if not downright questionable code that is hard for newcomers to work with. I'm not too worried about cost as long as it's in the three or four digits,
Also worth mentioning that we're heading into a decoupled future for custom builds, so having a source of high quality design templates that aren't based on a certain platform would be very attractive. Bonus points if the templates are written with React/Next.js or at least very friendly to that tech (nothing still using jQuery would pass muster, IMO).

Howdy, so I’ve been on Wellbutrin for about close to a year now ranging from different doses. Starting at 150mg to 300mg then back down to 150 just recently. I’ve been having very interesting and weird dreams off and on.
One dream that just happened today was I was on a beach in Florida and was laying in the sand. The beach was overly crowded and boats in the water close to the shore and there were 4 guys on board and they had a t-shirt cannon looking gun and pointed it to the sky. They shot into the air and it turned into boats falling down and crashing onto the beach right in front of us.
Everyone started running away while boats were trying to crush us. I looked at my legs and they were so red that the skin was blistered so badly that it was my actual skin that was bubbly like I was getting cooked alive. We ran away and waves started rising up and coming in at full speeds. I woke up before anything happened.
Another one was butters from South Park working in a grocery store my mom worked at. Just chit chatting about deli meat and a plane turning into a quad helicopter.
Has anyone had super weird dreams like these? And is it normal for them

I haven't babied the machine (plenty of gaming, CAD work, and some machine learning loads) and can acknowledge that any possible hardware problems I ran into with the drive recently are likely my fault. That being said, I've had trouble trusting my laptop and this latest episode doesn't help.
From the first day I received my XPS 15 9500, it was in manufacturing mode. I had to punch in the service tag myself in BIOS setup and when the battery died it would sometimes re-enter manufacturing mode and require me to repeat this. The battery life left something to be desired (understandable with a GPU onboard) and there were some idiosyncrasies with setting up the drivers and the relatively unresponsive trackpad. Thermals were of course, garbage, but I don't tend to play the most cutting edge AAA games much and I've since discovered a decent workaround in using ThrottleStop along with a cooling stand. It seemed to work fine to me, however, so I didn't sweat it too much.
I got my first big scare around 6-7 months after receiving it, when the laptop crashed and upon reboot showed me a cute blue screen with something along the lines of 'DRIVE UNBOOTABLE'. The laptop had started having issues with not recognizing the charger and this was especially bad because it had started crashing mere seconds after being booted unplugged or left unplugged to power. Dell support was not particularly helpful at this time and I found after hours of scouring forums that disabling C-states seemed to be a passable workaround. I put off getting the laptop fixed as I was more worried about school and have always had a hard time dragging my ass to do these kind of things. It worked fine save for the fact that no C-states was horrible for battery life when the lid was down and generated a lot of heat. After a few to several consecutive shutdowns from low battery, I'd get a double beep and be notified that the BIOS had been corrupted. Each time, the laptop was able to recover and re-install the BIOS but it was always a bit unnerving thinking about the potential for it to become a paperweight.
I got the laptop fixed over summer after talking with support again, and I was recommended to mail it in. When it got back to me, they decided to give it a motherboard swap and swap me a new charger. It was running fine, just with the battery having been significantly degraded by the time I ran without C-states. Because of this, I found that I now needed to plug it in overnight if I didn't want it discharging to zero (unless I shut it down, which probably would have been the smartest move from a longevity standpoint). There were a few times I was too lazy to take it out of my bag and ended up realizing that it was very hot when I got it out of my bag in the morning (to the point where thermal expansion and in hindsight, the battery pack's swelling caused me to not be able to press down on the trackpad). In the 1.5-1.75 year timespan in this period, I dropped it once when it slipped off a short table (only a little over a foot tall) and landed on its hinge), but besides that just some bumps with furniture here and there.
So more recently (and almost a year after the one time I've dropped it), I ran into an issue where the laptop crashed in its sleep and it gave the error beep for 'hard drive not installed'. I tried booting again, got it another time or two, then it suddenly just booted again. I wasn't terribly concerned at this point because I knew that I was going to open up my laptop for a new battery, and figured I just needed to reseat it. I read through several threads and tried some of the software based solutions (culprits were named between Dell Power Manager, updating the BIOS, or even AHCI/RAID. At this point, I was out of warranty so I opened it up and reseated the drive. It seemed to work for a while but the error popped up again at night. I was able to get it to boot once the next day but that was between dozens of failed attempts, and got a blue screen after I left sleep. As the crashes always seemed to be tied to sleep, I still had the suspicion that there's a software/firmware related cause for this, but I figured I might as well give reseating the drive an extra shot. That time I decided to install the drive into the other, empty slot on the board. I've not had problems for about a day by now.
My main suspect is that all the heat from over the last few years (or at least last year after the mobo swap) accumulated and could have loosened the connector for the original drive mount and started to cause this issue. I sure hope so as resolving a software-side problem in this respect would be a pain in the ass between school and work. I feel paranoid even though I feel I addressed the most likely cause of my problems, and a little bit jaded at having gone with an XPS 15 even if it's been a decent machine when it works most of the time.

I am getting top surgery in about a month. I'm excitedly counting down the days, however one minor concern I'm having is how long I will need to be inactive post-surgery. I'm an avid runner and it's one of the only outlets I have to burn off energy and relieve stress. I know it's different for everyone, but I'm just wondering what other folks experience was with returning to their regular activities (be it running, sports, etc) after top surgery were? And if there are any runners out there, were you able to engage in lower impact cardio, like a stationary bike, before being cleared to run again?
I understand that I'm undergoing a pretty big surgery and am 100% on board with taking it easy on my body for however long I need to, but I also want to try to minimize fitness loss as much as possible. Plus exercise is an integral part of my self-care routine. I know that for me the benefits of top surgery far outweigh any of this but tbh the thought of not being able to engage in physical activity like I'm used to is bumming me out a bit. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Mine was around 2017 and here how it happend. I am a Fox main with a pocket Falco lmao.
It was not a big local but I was seeded to played the 2nd seed of the tournament (a Falcon main) on round 1 but he could not show up so he have to DQ and I took his seed. I won round 2 against a Puff that upset the other guy , for some reson he never spam back airs lol. Then on round 3 (winner quarters) I was gonna play this Luigi guy who was the 7th seed and during the 10 friendlies I played him , I did not win any of them. But then he got UPSET against another Fox that I go even. Then I beat him 3-0 with my pocket Falco since he did not expect it and he sucks vs Falco. Then on Winner Semis , I am match with the 3rd seed , a Marth main that just 3-0s me , and on loser quarters I got this Sheik main that was on the loser run of his life , and I barely beat him 3-2 because I notice he was fatigue and I saw that most of his games prior to mine where last stock , last hit , last game lmao. And then at loser semis I face off against the 4th seed a Falco main , and he also 3-0s me.
So overall , I just got lucky , if the second seed have come to the local that day , I would prob got 3-0 by him and probably lose at 13th or maybe best case scenario 9th.

How many of you would consider yourself a crypto addict? That can entail constantly checking the charts to see price movement or even constantly browsing this subreddit since that is crypto related.
Speaking on the first area, I had a REALLY bad addiction to looking at charts on my phone when I first started crypto in 2016. I had been invested in stocks before but this was way different. Constantly changing prices, pump and dumps, and 24/7 trading. It was new, exciting, and I was hooked.
Then came the 2017 bull run and it was the wild west. Notifications going off like crazy, pricing swings like a pendulum, and just hysteria. I could not stop looking at my phone and it became a real problem that impacted my family time.
I now limit myself to checking charts once in the morning, once during lunch, and once before bed. I am no longer a day trader (did ok in 2017 but realized that is not the life for me) so this is more manageable now but I will admit, I still fail at that sometimes especially if a project/coin I own has some big event or news following it.
Has anyone else felt this same way? Any stories?

I've been hoping Bungie in a TWAB or the Destiny 2 Team would address it since the community has been quite vocal since Lightfall launched. I've given it some time, played through it for 3+ weeks and I think I hit my threshold today because the main progression of the game now feels pointless.

I just ran a 28 minute Dares Legend... we had "Darkness Envelopes You" pop up (I literally didn't know that could happen in Dares). There was a stretch of 10 mins where it felt like every 5-10 seconds I was hearing "Guardian Down" on repeat and this was after the Threshers were dealt with.

I seriously want Bungie to come out and talk about it, I want their stance on difficulty and how everything is ranked. How is the raid a walk in the park compared to me going for a weekly Pinnacle in Legend Dares? What is the point of playing this game if I'm 1818, 1808 without artifact (and I get the cap is 1815) but it's taking 2 fusion rifle shots to kill a red bar? Is making everything a bullet sponge Bungie's idea of challenge? Is this supposed to be fun? If leveling and making myself stronger isn't going to mean shit in the end, honestly question, what is the point?

I don't understand how Bungie could take the community going, "Hey, a slight bit of challenge in Heist Battlegrounds feels nice" and ramp it up by a thousand and copy/paste it across the board in every activity that has a Legend version or greater.

In every other season I'm all about the exotic missions, getting the weekly catalysts, etc. and this is the first one where I'm like forget it when looking at Avalon Legend, absolutely zero interest to run it for solo flawless.

(coughs awkwardly) … quiet week, huh?
So I don’t have any opinion polls to back this up, but I’m going to go out on a limb and assume that the vast majority of y’all are at least vaguely familiar with Hamilton, voluntarily or otherwise. I’m also going to assume that most of you are familiar with the trend of unexpected cultural phenomena being followed by a wave of imitators hoping to ride the coattails to success. Old Town Road blew up on the clock app, now record labels are judging songs for TikTok memeability. Twilight mania saw everyone and their dog rushing out YA adaptations. Blue space people Avatar was followed by 5 years of unnecessary 3D releases.
Hamilmania was no exception, which brings us to the Roundabout Theatre Company. Presumably with cartoonish dollar signs in their eyes, they asked themselves “how can we get in on the action?” Eventually, they settled on a solution: dust off the book for 1776, a musical from the 1960s which also happens to be set in the American Revolution and give it the ol’ Hamilton treatment. The idea was simple: take this musical about a bunch of long-dead rich old white guys, replace them with a racially-diverse cast of female/non-binary/trans performers, remix the songs ever so slightly and watch the critical praise roll in. Co-directors Diana Paulus and Jeffrey Page got to work in early 2020, which needless to say complicated things a little bit. But after many delays, the revival finally premiered on Broadway in September 2022… to mixed reviews.
One area that was not up for critique however were the performances themselves. Many critics were especially generous to Sara Porkalob, a Filipina-American woman who was specifically headhunted by Diana Paulus to play the role of a pro-slavery white supremacist. As far as I can tell, she wasn’t really a part of the Broadway establishment, instead coming up from the Seattle indie theatre scene, which from what I gather is pretty insular. Is this relevant for later? Probably. Anyway, before all of (gestures at the rest of the writeup), she was best known for writing and performing a critically acclaimed one-woman show about her relationship with her mother. Y’know, the type of thing performed at the back of a smokey bar with a single bongo in front of a crowd of beatniks (okay so that’s not how it went down but I love the mental image).

Sit Down, John Sara - the interview that kickstarted it all

About a month into the run, she gave an interview with Vulture discussing her role and what it’s like being an Asian woman playing a slave-owning, unabashedly pro-slavery white man. Most of it’s pretty standard interview fare: behind the scenes stories, praise for her castmates, that sort of thing. Pretty quickly though, Sara started critiquing the Broadway establishment and how it was out-of-touch with the changing audience…

“Institutions often think that you need to investigate everything before you can start to restructure, but that’s not true. They’re afraid to make changes (...) Institutions are always making these five-year fucking plans and being like, We’re gonna make it with a consultant and we’ll share it later. Then they share it with the community after two years and now the community doesn’t care about the institution anymore”

… then she started sharing some of her gripes about the revival, and how she felt it undermined its own message with its clumsy and cringey (her words, not mine) approach to tackling racism…

“On the inside, I’m cringing at that, I’m cringing at the fucking projected egg song, and I cringe a little at the end when we hold out those coats. I’m like, it’s okay. I wouldn’t have wanted it this way, but I am doing my job”.

… as well as the inherent yikes-ness of casting an Asian performer such as herself as the show’s pro-slavery white character…

”The non-Black POC folks (...) were assimilated into whiteness with no consideration of how our personal identity intersected with this song or this history. The directors, by using race as a binary in the construction of “Molasses to Rum,” unconsciously held up a false narrative by assimilating non-Black POC folks into whiteness, because they were prioritizing the Black folks.”

… and criticised how the producers never made use of the cast’s diverse gender identities and sexualities other than as a selling point.

“They were prioritizing … race as a driving creative choice more than anything else. Gender identity, sexual identity — those we weren’t talking about”.

The interviewer then asked if she experienced any difficulty adjusting from having full creative control to being just another member of an ensemble cast, which is precisely when all hell broke loose. Sara admitted that she wasn’t feeling artistically fulfilled by the role and this was strictly a career move for her. Aim for a Tony nomination and some good reviews, network with big names in the industry and use it to further her actual passions.
Finally, in the very last line in the interview, she dropped the bombshell line that got everyone up in arms: when asked about how much effort she’s putting into the show, she replied…

“I’m giving 75%. When I do ‘Molasses to Rum,’ I’m giving 90%”

Now, if you read the interview you might remember the part where she mentioned that her ultimate goal was to use this role to further her career. You might also be wondering if this interview hurt that. Don’t worry, you’re not alone. Many people wondered if she was trying to build up her indie cred by publicly calling out mainstream Broadway? Perhaps her status as an outsider meant that she was able to be more open about these issues than everyone else? Her points had merit, but was going public like this the most professional way of going about it?
People politely discussed these points of view with poise and rationalit- haha, no, people immediately took nuance and its cousin tact out behind the shed and shot them in the back of the head. Vicious debates started in the comments section under the article, including one pro-Sara user who was widely assumed to be Sara using a sockpuppet account, though I think it later turned out to be one of her IRL friends. The story quickly picked up momentum and Broadway fans splintered into pro- and anti-Sara camps, with the battlelines being drawn over the question of whether Sara was:
A) a confident artist who knew her own worth and whose only crime was keeping it real, OR;
B) an entitled, arrogant egotist whose delusions of grandeur were matched only by her shameless clout-chasing.
It wasn’t just terminally online theatre fans who were talking about this, however. Other performers started weighing in, it got airplay in Broadway news sites and even warranted a few mentions in mainstream media. People magazine picked up the story, The Seattle Times came out to bat for their hometown hero, and the New York Times published a critical opinion piece
To her supporters, her bluntness was refreshing - yes, the end goal of any job is to get paid, why should Broadway be any different? At the end of the day, it’s still a job and if Sara wants to set healthy boundaries between work and her life then more power to her. While she may be one of the stars, she shouldn’t be obliged to lie about the state of the show or be in promotion mode 100% of the time. To see someone cut through all the puff and PR speak like that wasn’t just novel, but it also broke right through the “be happy that you’re here and don’t complain” attitude of the community.
To her opponents however, going public like this while the production was still running and struggling to fill seats was insanely unprofessional - would the struggling show be able to survive the negative PR hit of one of the leads coming out against it in public? Some questioned her motives and wondered if she was really doing this to shine a light on Broadway’s issues or if she was using it as a cynical attention-grab, with some people who claimed to know her IRL certainly thinking that was what she was doing.
And then there was the reaction to the 75% comment which is what literally everyone zeroed in on - there’s a reason it’s in the title.
It was pointed out that Idina Menzel (Elphaba from Wicked, Elsa from Frozen) made basically the same comment years ago and nobody raked her over the coals for it (EDIT: she did, I just missed it). Could it be that her being a non-white woman in a predominantly white industry possibly, maybe had a role to play? Some people seemed to think so. Not to mention, Broadway performance schedules are absolutely brutal, holding back like that is a totally valid way of preventing vocal damage/burnout and anyone who was up in arms over the 75% comment had either A) never performed onstage before, B) were perpetuating a toxic culture, or C) were selfishly putting their entertainment above Sara’s wellbeing.
Of course, not everybody saw it that way. A lot of people took issue with her comments about wanting to win a Tony in particular - hoping to win the industry’s biggest award with a performance you’re only putting 75% effort into? For many, the perceived arrogance and entitlement was too much to bear. Others took it as a sign of laziness and disrespect towards the audience’s time and money. And then there were people who (rightly or wrongly) interpreted Sara’s 75% comment as protesting against the directors in an “I don’t like these decisions so I’m not going to try” way, and then shot back by saying if she really wanted creative control she could quit and return to Seattle indie theatre where she could do whatever she wanted.
As far as I can tell, the split was along generational lines - older fans leaned anti-Sara, with a lot of “those damned entitled millennials” vibes going around. Meanwhile, younger fans tended to be pro-Sara, with a dash of antiwork flavour thrown in for extra spice. The response depended on the platform, too - old school forums and Broadway bloggers didn’t take too kindly to her, Twitter celebrated her, and broadway and YouTube were split down the middle. I'm gonna take a sec to shine a spotlight on broadwayworld.com in particular, which for those not in the know is to Broadway fandom what FF.net is to fanfiction. As a gathering place for older folks with plenty time on their hands and Opinions about things, you’d expect it to be strongly anti-Sara but reception there was surprisingly split, with their thread running for 5 days and eventually reaching 10 pages (before it was locked over pronoun discourse).

How not to respond to a controversy (OR: the gang learns why publicists, crisis managers, and PR agencies exist)

I mentioned him earlier, but Jeffrey Page was one of two directors behind the 1776 revival and one of the people indirectly called out in Sara’s interview. As an African-American man, it’s pretty safe to assume that a lot of the new focus on American race relations baked into the production came from him. Needless to say, he wasn’t terribly happy about the interview. Nor was he happy that the show he’d worked so long on was making headlines for all the wrong reasons. Instead of putting out your typical “we disagree with the opinions stated by some of our cast members, but respect their input and will endeavour to address any issues in the future” PR statement however, he decided to address the issue by vaguebooking at a “certain nameless someone”:

”Dear nameless person, I know that you feel good about that thing you said… I didn’t feel good about it.
I know you feel like it is now your time in the sun. You ain’t put in the time and you ain’t done the work. You are ungrateful and unwise.
You claim that you want to dismantle white supremacist ideology… I think that you are the very example of the thing you claim to be most interested in dismantling.
You are fake-woke, rotten to the core, and stuck in the matrix; I hope you get that increased IG following that you so desperately thirst.”

Needless to say, this only triggered a whole ‘nother round of discourse. Was it appropriate to respond to unprofessionalism with even more professionalism? As the boss in this situation, was he right to take out his frustration or should he have taken the high road? Some fans put on their deerstalkers and tried to use reactions to the Facebook post from other cast members to gauge the temperature behind the scenes. Meanwhile, a handful of Sara stans decided that obviously this meant that he was fair game for abuse (side note kids: don't send do this).
Of course, he wasn’t the only one who decided to take the direct approach. As all this was going down, Sara hopped on Twitter to post her response. Here are some of the juiciest ones because this is a popcorn sub and I know what y’all are here for:

• I'm surprised by how hung up people are over my 75% comment. But then I remember: they don't know that my 75% is one of the best things they'll ever see & my 100% is unmatchable.

• I lead w/integrity, not respectability politics. Broadway is lucky to have artists like me & my entire 1776 cast. Y'all are salty bc I'm speaking the truth? Bc I'm actually doing the work you say you want to do? Stay mad.

• to those who are pissed and saying, "who does she think she is?". Google me, hoes. I've been doing the work, been speaking the truth. I know who TF I am. I do this for the community, for the real ones. The rest of you can choke💖

• "The people who hold the purse-strings will never hire you again." That's LITERALLY the point.
  

Sara also clarified that by 75%, she was talking about work-life balance. As in, she’s setting 25% of her mental energy aside for self-care. And y’know, fair enough. On the other hand though, I think I speak for most people when I say that it really didn’t come across that way in the interview.
While her supporters on Twitter were generally positive, in the rest of the community reception wasn't quite as warm. It isn't hard to see why, just look at her tone. People who were all-in on the “Sara is a self-absorbed narcissistic” train now had more ammunition, while some who were on the fence about her before quietly climbed down and parked themselves on the anti-Sara side of the property line. Even people who’d been 100% supportive of her before now found themselves awkwardly staring at their shoelaces and started prefacing their takes with “okay, so she’s a bit obnoxious but you gotta admit…”

Curtain call

This is hobbydrama, so we all know what comes next. Sara doubles down even more, Jeffrey Page fires back, the drama continues. Except… that’s not what happened. Whether it’s because both sides had time to settle down and realise that neither of them were coming out of this looking very good or because lawyers got involved, it wouldn’t be long before both sides backed down, though not without a little bit of residual drama.
First up was Jeffrey, who quietly deleted his Facebook post. Then other Broadway performers who’d weighed in started deleting their hottakes. Meanwhile, Sara put out another series of Tweets striking a gentler tone where she apologised for affecting the rest of the cast, acknowledged how her tone made it very easy to see her as an entitled diva, and to please please please not send death threats to Jeffrey or Diane.
Reactions to her sudden 180 were just as mixed as her initial response. While some thought it was an eloquent and well-written statement, there were two passages in particular that drew a lot of attention:
1) Sara directly addressing it towards “white folks & BIPOC folks w/internalised racism”, which many interpreted as dismissive (at best) or actively trying to frame all criticism towards her as racist (at worst)
2) Saying that firing her “would only be further proof of this industry's inability to adapt & change for the better” which some took either as her preemptively playing the race card or even
And that was that. While there was plenty of speculation Sara would get the sack, in the end the show continued to limp on with her. Many subsequent attendees reporting empty seats abound reported excitedly that much of the original cast would be joining this new production… with one notable exception. Sara announced she’d be back in Seattle with a new project scheduled for April 2023.
What have we learned? Well, I can’t speak for y’all but for me it’s only reinforced that Twitter is an irradiated wasteland where nuance goes to die and if I never have to visit it again it will be too soon. Oh, and that drama kids gonna drama, I suppose.

Tl;dr buff long sword as it is currently not able to use all skills, and has potential (although inconsequential) risks and trade-offs associate with the weapon that should be completely removed. It is basically unusable at this point.

Currently, long sword has the ability to use quick sheath and frostcraft, as well as wind mantle with its "sheath" abilities. Thankfully (and appropriately so) using the sheath skills count as sheathing the weapon for use of quick sheath/frostcraft, but do NOT count as sheathing for wind mantle uptime. Thankfully, all of the other weapons do not have any sort of synergies like this built in. With all that being said, I feel like long sword is severely lacking the ability to capitalize on other skills that the weapon cannot use yet? Is this an oversight or intentional?
For example, why doesn't long sword have a hit zone ignoring attack like gunlance (with the caveat that the attacks would need to better than gunlance in every conceivable way) so we can use the artillery skill? It should also have a form switch ability that can benefit from quickswitch. And blocking? How don't we have a block yet???
I used to wish we also had the highest hit zone value attack in the game, but since we now have sacred sheath combo we are set on that part. (Speaking of which nerf great sword damage please. they are creeping awfully close to my damage #s while have a much larger commitment to use their big combos - it should be even harder to land fully charged attacks for great sword, and easiesafer for long sword).
It is almost like devs are ignoring long sword.... How, with its ability to use some of the strongest skills in the game simultaneously with built in synergy that prohibit all other weapons from running them together, is it unable to use more skills while also being a 0 commitment counterattack heavy weapon with functionally 0 risk, all while never taking chip damage. It is super unfair and I feel like all of the other weapons are getting special treatment :'(

My suggestions to make the weapon more balanced:
- Make any attack taken while using a long sword do 0 damage to the hunter, and automatically counter with a heavy hitting attack. This will also count as blocking, and will activate offensive block to increase damage further, with an increased uptime to the damage buff (only applies to long sword, reduce the duration for the rest of the weapons)
- Give long sword the ability to switch into a different form (or build it in so that every single attack is technically switching forms) so we can use quickswitch skill. OR quick switch could activate from sheathing skills and increase damage done for 1 minute after a sheath instead of just the attacks that use the switch animation like for other weapons.
- A hit zone ignoring attack that scales with attack, element, affinity, and artillery that is ranged (think rivers of blood from Elden Ring, but much larger range) and reduce all damage output of gunlance and charge blade by a flat 90% across the board.
- New skills that solely focus on, and only work for, long sword. too many other weapons can use skills that are designed around the long sword kit like quick sheath, frostcraft, and wind mantle. We need less skills for other weapons, and more skills for long sword that continue to synergize perfectly.
- Make harvest moon base kit, and instead of requiring being inside the circle just completely remove that requirement.
- Flat 50% increase in all hit zone values.
- Remove the spirit gauge mechanic completely and just maximize damage. The spirit gauge is one of the few things could be considered a downside to the weapon - this is unacceptable.
- (if we keep spirit gauge) Sacred sheath combo should grant max spirit gauge charges, rather than drain them for the attack.
- ALSO, sacred sheath combo should make you completely immune to all damage. It currently only has hyper armor and reduced damage taken while in the animation which is effectively an insult to long sword players.
- To compensate for all of the new skills that long sword can use, increase the jewel slots in the long sword to be infinite so you can add all skills to just your weapon.
- Make crafting long swords at the black smith require 0 materials or zenny, and increase the materials and zenny cost for all other weapons by a minimum of 500%. Also why did we only get 1 LS from the main quest? we should get more throughout the quest that are fully upgraded on receipt.
- Finally, and most importantly, all attacks should knock friendly co-op players into the crumpled on the ground animation - and if they have the brace skill equipped, long sword should just kill friendly players on hit.

These changes are so minor and would make the weapon playable. Please let me know if I missed anything. Also a quick note - the videos of people not using armor with long sword and getting great kill times prove that the weapon needs a buff NOW.

Credit Suisse’s investment bank may vanish When UBS agreed to buy Credit Suisse at a fire-sale price over the weekend, a big question was what would happen to the ailing firm’s investment bank. Months before the chaos that felled Credit Suisse, the firm had unveiled an ambitious plan to spin out the division, under the leadership of the veteran deal maker Michael Klein, as part of its now-failed turnaround effort.

But it now looks like the investment bank will largely be dissolved, as UBS makes clear that it’s only interested in bits of the business, and as the Swiss government moves to bar some promised payouts to Credit Suisse’s bankers. What was once a top-flight shop of corporate advisers now appears to be a melting ice cube.
UBS probably won’t proceed with the Klein-led spinout, cutting off the most likely way of preserving big chunks of the investment bank. Under those plans, Credit Suisse would have purchased Klein’s advisory boutique, combining it with its own division and eventually spinning it out under the First Boston name. (Klein, who was on Credit Suisse’s board, would have received $175 million for his firm and was paid an additional $10 million for advising on Credit Suisse’s plan — terms that some at UBS reportedly saw as too favorable.)
UBS is now weighing whether to end that deal and how it would do so, DealBook hears. The writing had been on the wall since the takeover announcement: First Boston would have relied on capital from Credit Suisse to help fund equity and debt underwriting, and the UBS deal now makes that impossible.

UBS has expressed interest in keeping some Credit Suisse investment bankers in key industries — technology, media and health care, among others — to augment its own advisory operations and complement its core wealth management business. But UBS executives have made clear they plan to run down Credit Suisse’s trading operations and limit the size of its overall investment banking arm.
Meanwhile, other Credit Suisse bankers have fewer reasons to stay. Unless they specialize in those particular sectors, their chances of being absorbed into UBS are murky at best.
Moreover, the Swiss government said yesterday that it would suspend deferred bonuses for Credit Suisse employees that were granted before 2022. (The bank can still pay cash bonuses for last year.) That compounds the pain for Credit Suisse staffers, who have already seen the value of their shares in their employer — as well as bonuses in the form of other securities linked to the bank’s performance — all but wiped out by the UBS deal.
This may make it harder for Credit Suisse to operate as though it’s business as usual, especially as anxious bankers call up recruitment firms to find jobs elsewhere.
In other Credit Suisse news, the bank went ahead with an investment conference in Hong Kong this week, featuring the T.V. personality Bear Grylls — and plenty of pathos.
In other banking turmoil news: Expect Jay Powell, the Fed chair, to face questions from Congress about why regulators missed warning signs at midsize lenders. First Republic has hired Lazard to help review its strategic options, while the government weighs additional backstops to encourage would-be rescuers of the firm.
