2022.08.09 05:41 BeerGeekAlpha The Black Phone - Who Would Win: Robin vs. Vance

Self explanatory. Vance Hopper vs. Robin Arellano. We see Robin handle a kid much bigger than him in a kid named Moose and Vance handles two kids at the same time in the convenience store. Both kids are badasses. Who wins?

2022.07.18 02:37 Loli-nero Adjustment Takes Time

(Heavy content, lots of dark implications, be warned!)
Part 1/2
Al likes them with long hair.
He’d found boys with many different haircuts– Vance Hopper with his long, curly blonde hair, Bruce Yamada with his black straight hair. He has a preference, and it happens to have a lot to do with their hair.
When Albert first noticed the boy with the curly hair, he’d nearly written him off. He wasn’t his target at the time; no, that was Robin Arellano. Still, while Finney Shaw’s hair hadn’t been as long as the other’s, it was still a bit on the lengthier side.
So, before he made any concrete decision, Al followed him. Watched him.
Finney Shaw was a weak boy. A boy who didn’t fight for himself, a boy who allowed himself to be beaten down by others and be taken advantage of. He was smaller, thinner, quieter. He was the bigger boy's target.
In a way, maybe Al saw a bit of himself in him.
Temporarily, Albert had forgotten about Finney Shaw. He had Robin Arellano at the time, so he was distracted enough as is. Still, the boy proved to be difficult, not unlike Vance Hopper. A total pain in the ass, that’s for sure. Even as Albert still held Robin Arellano in his basement, he began to set his sights on Finney Shaw. Someone easier to handle.
By the time he had buried Robin Arellano, he’d already planned how he’d get Finney Shaw next. He’d been careful while watching him; staying out of sight from others, parking near where he and his sister would often split up for the evening. Often, Finney Shaw would hang around at a local shop, buying grape sodas and watching the people and cars pass by from his spot on the curb. At first Al was going to grab him there, but after seeing all the foot traffic there, he decided better of it. There were too many potential witnesses, people who could glance out a window and see him drag the boy into his van. He needed somewhere quieter to take him. Somewhere less populated.
In the end, he chose a street Finney Shaw often walked down on his way back from school, empty of houses on one side where the other side was partially concealed by tall, thick bushes.
It was a good spot, and Albert prided himself on such a well thought out plan.
He caught him on his way back, spilled his bag of groceries out onto the sidewalk in front of the boy, acting as though he had been trying to bring his groceries into one of the nearby homes.
Finney Shaw offered his help, handed him the hat that he’d dropped in a practised manoeuvre, and fell for the act hook line and sinker.
That, however, was the end of things going as planned. Finney Shaw fought back with a surprising veracity, managed to fuck up his arm pretty good, neary got away too. It’s safe to say he was pissed when he got back, the boy in his arms as he bled like hell all over his nice clothes. Albert said some regrettable things to the kid in the moment, which he of course apologised for. He didn’t want to frighten him, after all. He was a new guest in his home, and Al wanted to treat him as such.
Finney Shaw was still too messed up when they had arrived. He sat on his new bed, watching him– or more accurately staring through him– with a subdued, slightly absent look on his face. He’d hit his head nice and good on the way into the van, so it was no surprise to Al. He let him play with his curly hair, let him rest his hand on his face and look him up and down. He didn’t fight even a little bit.
That, Albert would admit to himself, was pleasantly surprising. They all had fought right from the get go, no matter how banged up they were. Still, here was this new boy– a boy that, eventually, he’d just think of as Finney. Not Finney Shaw, just Finney. Finney who liked grape soda and cartoons, Finney who loved his little sister Gwen, and Finney who never had the courage to stand up for himself. Eventually, that would be the Finney he knew, but until then, he just remained Finney Shaw, the next of his victims. Another to fall to Naughty Boy.
Things started to really go sideways when Max arrived at his doorsteps more than a little high. According to him, he’d lost his job and could no longer make rent for his apartment. His coke habit had stopped being an at home only activity– instead, he brought it into the workplace. It was frankly miraculous that he hadn’t been arrested for it yet, though Albert ought not to speak on such things himself. So the reason Max was there, on his doorstep, was because he needed a place for just a little while so he could get back onto his feet, and really, he wouldn’t mind, right?
Safe to say, Al minded. Quite a bit.
Max’s very presence was troublesome, a threat to his freedom. He set strict rules for him; no going out late at night, stay on the second floor past midnight, don’t do anything that’d bring the cops to his doorstep, and most importantly of all, do not go into the basement.
Of course Max was curious about that last rule, but Al found a mundane but believable reason to throw off his interest. Right then, he was having it remodelled. It was currently in an in-between faze; the company he had hired ran into some issues and needed to postpone later improvements for a while. Right then, the basement was not in any state for people to be wandering around so frequently. The walls were stripped bare, floor mere dirt and insulation was exposed all around. It would be dangerous for them to be down there.
Max fell for it.
Still, even with this win, stuff still wasn’t finished going awry.
Finney Shaw wasn’t playing ball. He didn’t fall for his traps, he wasn’t being a Naughty Boy. He fell for none of the traps he’d set, he wouldn’t creep up the stairs in a bid to escape– at least not at first. Instead, he remained in the basement, pacing the confined space or curled up on the mattress sleeping. It was a curious reaction to the situation, and thus things felt more… personal. Finney Shaw became just Finney, at least in Al’s mind.
He pulled a few tricks on the boy, some of which he evaded, others he fell for. He lied to him about his name, which for a short while truly ate away at Albert’s nerves. Things hadn’t been so bad! Just as he’d promised in the beginning, he hadn’t hurt him. He fed Finney and kept him safe. The least he could ask from him was the basic respect of not being lied to about his name!
Eventually, though, he got over that. Something new would take precedent, that being his escape attempt.
Al had nearly had him for a week when he managed to find out the code to the bike lock on the door and flee outside. Finney ran like hell, Albert was bigger, faster and stronger though. His anger got the better of him again, and he said and did some regrettable things. He went back on his promise of not hurting Finney, but Finney had also broken the rules. He had been a Naughty Boy, and Al had only responded in kind. He did what was appropriate in the situation.
Once again he had come back home with Finney in his arms, carried him downstairs and dumped him onto the mattress, though far less gently then he had the first time. For a moment he thought he’d made his mind up, that he’d do it the next day. He’d already dug the grave a few days earlier, so all he would need to do was pick up the supplies to handle the body, then he’d be good to go. He wouldn’t have to worry as much about Max finding the boy downstairs, or about Finney escaping him. He even got so far as to go to the store– the same corner store he had debated plucking Finney off the street from. He stood there, looking at different tarps, debating how he should proceed for a long while. In the end, he went home nearly empty handed, only with the purchase of the same type of grape soda Finney seemed to enjoy so much. He wouldn’t give it to him yet, but perhaps sometime in the future it could be a treat.
The first week since he’d first taken Finney past, and he was working out a plan to get Max out of his home as soon as possible. It would likely be a couple months until he could officially boot him, but it was still worth the effort. He’d gotten him to start applying for different jobs, and eventually he was hired by a local newspaper. Apparently, they liked the tenacity in which he followed the Galesburg Grabber, and they could use a guy with that level of dedication to a story so relevant. Al had to fight back the urge to roll his eyes the more he listened to the words that fell from his brother's mouth. The irony surpassed humour.
Still, it would mean he was gone, and therefore he’d have more time to figure out what exactly he was going to do.
Finney still hated him. It hurt, admittedly. Al had been good to the boy, but he looked at him with nothing short of contempt in his eyes. His face would take on a sneering quality whenever he came down to the basement with food, and even the grape soda hadn’t lifted his spirits.
Albert decided that since he didn’t think he was going to be burying Finney anytime soon, he might as well try to make him at least slightly more comfortable. After all, he knew how cold it could get down in that basement, and as the weather began to cool off it would only get more freezing down there. He couldn’t risk the boy getting hypothermia or something.
He brought down a set of sheets alongside a quilt three weeks into Finney’s stay. Finney stared at it like Al had been trying to hand him a bin full of scorpions.
Al ended up helping him put the bed together, as much as he had protested. He realised that the singular meal a day had done little good for the boy, as he had grown significantly weaker than he already was. While that was helpful in preventing or stopping any possible future escape attempts, it could lead to some serious health conditions that would make him significantly less appealing. He couldn’t improve his diet much yet for the boy, but he promised him that when his house guest moved out he’d cook him better meals.
Finney hadn’t looked as thrilled as he had hoped he would. Still, Al didn’t let it get him down, there was still much he could do to accommodate his new housemate.
Seven weeks into Finney’s stay, he bought him a little television for the basement. Whether it would or wouldn’t work seemed to best be measured by the flip of a coin, but it certainly caught Finney’s attention. He didn’t thank Al, but he hadn’t really expected him to at that point.
After that, Finney had three activities he would engage in. Pacing the basement, sleeping bundled in his new blanket, and watching the news.
The boy did his best to hide that the news was what he was watching. Whenever he would come down while he was watching TV, he’d quickly switch the channel in the most suspicious way possible.
Albert didn’t call him on it. He didn’t really care if he knew what was going on.
Over time, the TV seemed to kill any lasting semblance of hope he had. Al knew why.
The police weren’t really looking for Finney Shaw anymore, at least not alive. They were hung up on possible future victims, and so the search for a boy they’d already deemed dead was put on the backburner. That accompanied by recent events that had captured the attention of the news, and well… One missing boy wasn’t deemed so important in the court of public opinion.
Al pitied Finney, but he figured it had to happen at some point. Might as well yank the bandaid off nice and quick rather than tiptoe around it and drag out the pain. For his own sake.

THE SHITLIST™

Anything they said will soon be used against them!
(List of right-wing influencers: https://www.reddit.com/Philippines/comments/v3pfb5/list_of_fake_news_peddlers_guingonabart/)
The following celebrities of questionable repute are featured in these pro-regime events, pretty fizzled "revolution":
Then we have the donors, who also plan and act behind the scenes:
Let's not forget the League of Extraordinary Trapos, the greatest assemblage of lick-spittles and despots:
Another thing: Carmen Navarro Pedrosa, author of not one but two books about Imelda Marcos, did a 180-degree turn and became a staunch DDS just because then-President Aquino ticked her off.
Also: GRP (Benedict Ignacio), PinoyMonkeyPride and their smart-aleck edgelord ilk -- they started this "Marcos is Innocent" shtick, now they're dabbling in 64-dimensional Chinese checkers of their conspiracy theories against the "oligarchs", which would even impress Julius Streicher and Joseph Goebbels.
Also: Trismegistos (Asiafinest) aka Albertus Magnus (Pinoyexchange); promoting the "Tallano Gold" hoax as a Marcos fanatic.
Let's see...
Some Marcos loyalist celebrities calling themselves "Coalition of Writers and Artists for Freedom and Democracy" (sic) who signed this "covenant" are now also in support of this regime if only to ask for the restoration of the Marcoses.
Corporate sponsors, brands, and anyone who also put up the Bong Go, Bong Revilla, Francis Tolentino, or Imee Marcos propaganda is liable:
Phoenix and 2Go Group Inc are owned by Davao City-based businessman Dennis Uy, a close friend of Duterte’s. PureGold is owned by Lucio Co, also said to be a close friend of the President’s.
The top "influencers':
Aaaaaaaaaaaaand VACC, police-state pigs who started this fucking shitstorm:

2019.01.04 05:56 tribeoftheliver List of voice actors

Folks, I've done it. I've made a comprehensive list of every voice actor in the Backyard series. I don't have the complete credits of Hockey 2005 or Baseball/Basketball 2016 on hand.
This is a list of all the voice actors who have appeared in the Backyard Sports franchise.
I'm missing a few characters, though.
There are a few "Meet the player" cards on YouTube, and contacting the actors should help with voice recognition. I haven't contacted anyone.
Sources: Behind the Voice Actors, Voice123, IMDb, personal recognitions. If any of the actors Google themselves, maybe THEY could help add more names.

2017.12.14 08:04 flowerpatch2014 Bonifacio Day

Bonifacio day is a holiday dated November 30, 2017 Thursday. It was declared by our sitting president, Rodrigo roa Duterte with proclamation no 50. This is the declaration of all holidays and non working days for the year 2017. Bonifacio Day became a holiday when the Philippine Legislature passed Act No. 2946, declaring November 30 of every year as a national holiday for the commemoration of the birth of Gat Andrés Bonifacio who started the Philippine revolution in 1896 to overthrow the Spanish colonial government on the islands. The holiday was first instituted with a decree and signed by American Governor-General to the Philippines Francis Burton Harrison in 1921. Why is Bonifacio a Hero? Andrew Bonifacio is the Father of the Katipunan. He is also known as the Father of the Revolution and Philippine Democracy. He is The “Supremo” or “Ang Supremo” and The Great Plebeian. Plebeian means a member of the lower social classes or of belonging to the commoners of ancient Rome in the earlier times. On the 10th of May 1897, Procopio and Andres were shot at Mount Nagpatong, near Mount Buntis in Maragondon, Cavite. Procopio was a Philippine independence activist and revolutionary during the Philippine Revolution of 1896 against Spain. Let’s add a little information about Procopio who was with his brother until the end. He was a member of the secret revolutionary society turned revolutionary government Katipunan with his other siblings Circa and Espiridiona. His eldest brother Andrés Bonifacio was one of the founders and, eventually, president of the Katipunan. This tragic event was the obvious end to the short life of the Supremo. His educational attainment and military expertise may not have been equal to that of other heroes but his dedication to the country was without question, pure. Andrew Bonifacio will always be idolized and will forever serve as the battle cry of Filipinos who seek freedom from oppression and an inspiration to fight injustice. Bonifacio Day is a national Holiday. This national holiday means anyone who does work on this day, Bonifacio Day, is still entitled to pay. Keyword here is entitled so not everyone will get holiday pay. Schools and most businesses will be closed for the day, but shops, restaurants and malls remain open. Some people may take the time to mark Bonifacio's legacy by visiting monuments dedicated to Bonifacio. Well in addition most activists perform demonstrations in the vicinity of the Bonifacio monument or in Monumento Caloocan which is a very popular location in manila Philippines. This day became a holiday in 1921 when the Philippine Legislature passed Act No. 2946. Andres Bonifacio was born on November 30, 1863 in a small hut at Calle Azcarraga, presently known as Claro M. Recto Avenue in Tondo, Manila. His parents were Santiago Bonifacio and Catalina de Castro. Andres was the eldest in a brood of five. His other siblings were Ciriaco, Procopio, Troadio, Esperidiona and Maxima. He obtained his basic education through a certain Guillermo Osmeña of Cebu. The Bonifacio family was orphaned when Andres was barely fourteen. With this, Andres assumed the responsibility of raising his younger siblings. In order to support the needs of their family, he maximized his skills in making crafts and sold paper fans and canes. He also worked as messenger in Fleming & Company. Eventually, he moved to Fressel & Company, where he worked as warehouse man until 1896. Poverty never hindered Andres’ thirst for knowledge. He devoted most of his time reading books while trying to improve his knowledge in the Spanish and Tagalog language. The warehouse of Fressel & Company served as his library and study room. Andres was married to Gregoria de Jesus who happened to be his second wife. His first wife – Monica- died of leprosy a year after their marriage. Gregoria was only sixteen years old and Andres was twenty-nine when their romance sprung. At first, Gregoria’s parents were against their relationship, but in time, allowed the couple to be married in Catholic rites. The two were married in 1892, both in Catholic and Katipunan rites. Gregoria chose “Lakambini” as her nom de guerre. Azcarraga. Membership was through blood compact symbolizing the foundation of the secret society, which aimed the separation of the Philippines from Spain and the expulsion of the Spaniards in the country. The first Supremo of the Katipunan was Deodato Arellano, followed by Roman Basa and finally, Andres Bonifacio. In 1893, women were given the chance to join the organization. The first members were Gregoria de Jesus, Josefa Rizal, Marina Dizon and Angelica Lopez. They served as the keepers of important and confidential documents of the Katipunan and staged galas as fronts for the regular meetings of the male members. By 1894, the Katipunan spread throughout Manila. In order to strengthen and further widen the operations of the organization, the Kalayaan, the official organ of the Katipunan was published with Emilio Jacinto as editor. Two works of Bonifacio were published in the Kalayaan– “Pag-ibig sa Tinubuang Lupa” and “Ang Dapat Mabatid ng mga Tagalog.” THE PLAN FOR A REVOLUTION An important meeting held on 3 May 1896 concluded with a plan to rescue Rizal from Dapitan to lead the revolution. The task was assigned to Dr. Pio Valenzuela. Unfortunately, Rizal expressed his opposition to the idea of launching an unprepared revolution against a strong nation protected by well-armed defense force. In the end, he urged that if the revolution is inevitable, the revolutionary members should seek the help of the rich and influential people to convince them to support the cause of the revolution. He also suggested that the service of Antonio Luna be secured by the organization because of his military expertise and affiliation with rich and influential Filipinos. This happened after Apolonio dela Cruz was given a P2 raise in salary and Teodoro Patiño was not given any. A heated argument sparked between them which led Patiño to confide the secrets of the Katipunan to his sister Honoria at the convent where she was staying, her tearful reaction attracted the attention of one of the nuns. The nun in turn, persuaded Patiño to tell everything he knew to Fr. Mariano Gil, the parish priest of Tondo. After hearing the revelations, Fr. Gil contacted the authorities and urged them to raid the printing shop. Documents, oaths signed in blood, receipts and ledgers related to Katipunan were confiscated from the shop. Sad End of A Hero ILL FATED DESTINY As a result of the fateful experiences he encountered in Cavite, Bonifacio planned to return to Montalban and San Mateo. On their way to Montalban, he and his followers passed by Limbon, Indang – a place in Cavite where food was scarce and people were tightfisted. At this point, Severino de las Alas turned his back against Bonifacio. The angered Bonifacio responded with threats and words that were wrongly interpreted by the people of Indang. The people sought the help of Aguinaldo, who immediately ordered the arrest of Bonifacio. On 27 April 1897, skirmishes took place between the forces of Bonifacio and Aguinaldo. In the said scuffle, Ciriaco was killed, while Procopio and the Supremo were caught. Andres Bonifacio was stabbed in the neck, weakening him and soaking him in blood. The next day, the prisoners were brought to Indang Tribunal, then to Naic. Within the day, Gen. Mariano Noriel created the tribunal that eventually tried and convicted the Bonifacio brothers of sedition, and sentenced them to death. Surprised by the decision of the tribunal, Aguinaldo commutated the verdict. He recommended the Bonifacio brothers be exiled to an isolated island also found in Cavite. However, Gen. Noriel and Gen. Pio del Pilar dissuaded him, arguing that by reducing the sentence, the Revolutionary Government of the Philippines would once again be at stake. Aguinaldo, in the end, changed his mind and signed the death sentence of the Bonifacio brothers. On 10 May 1897, Procopio and Andres were shot at Mount Nagpatong, near Mount Buntis in Maragondon, Cavite. This event ended the short life of the Supremo. His educational attainment and military expertise may not have been equal to that of other heroes but his love for the country was absolute. His name will always be revered and serve as the battle cry of Filipinos who yearn for freedom oppression and injustice. "Bonifacio: The First President") is a 2014 Philippine historical action drama film centering on the life of Katipunanrevolutionary Andres Bonifacio. It is an official entry to the 40th Metro Manila Film Festival. The film begins with the execution of GomBurZa in 1872. Flashback: On July 3, 1892, Dr. Jose Rizal (Jericho Rosales) brings together La Liga Filipina, a peaceful reform movement that aims to unite all Filipinos and give them one voice. One of its members is Andres Bonifacio (Robin Padilla), who is currently supporting his siblings, as both their parents died due to illness. Rizal is later arrested after the Spanish authorities uncover the organization. Bonifacio then decides to form the Katipunan to lead a revolution against the Spanish colonizers. With the help of his friend Teodoro Plata, he meets Gregoria de Jesús (Vina Morales), who is also known as Oriang. Bonifacio visits the church, meeting Oriang again. She knows that he joined a group of Masons and is not religious. Bonifacio denies the accusations, saying that those are just inventions of the friars. Later that day, while walking on the street, they encounter a friend of Oriang (Pepe Herrera), begging a friar to give his salary in the polo. However, the friar refuses and instead makes derogatory remarks towards the man. Then he is shot by one of the Spanish soldiers. Bonifacio and Oriang's relationship develops and they finally marry after Oriang’s parents gave their approval. Then while recruiting additional katipuneros, Bonifacio finds out that Teodoro and Nonay Bonifacio are lovers.
