Hi everyone. I live in Covington and walk to work/take the bus downtown in Cincinnati. I was browsing local news and read that there is a violent man assaulting women around Mainstrasse for the past year. From what I’ve seen there’s a video of a suspect, but the media says they know the car he drives and that he has Ohio plates. Can anyone give me the make/model? I’m always alert but it would be nice to know when to book it if I’m on a block by myself. An attack happened in broad daylight and the attacks have been more frequent.
I don’t want to be a rape/murder victim nor do I want anyone in this community to be. If you don’t have any information but live in my neighborhood, please watch out for others. It’s been women that the suspect has attacked but that doesn’t mean he won’t hurt anyone. All I want to do is live my life without the threat of violence, just like his victims deserve. I hope they find peace, and I hope our community has their backs when and if this creep comes out. Fuck this shit.

Went on a 3rd date with a guy tonight. It went well up until I felt like he kept pushing my boundaries.
I live with a F roommate, whom I am very close with. We both experienced a situation when we first moved in together about 3 years ago. She brought home a guy she was casually seeing. The dude turned out to be a creep by trying to sneak into my room while she was sleeping. It was a traumatic experience for the both of us, especially when he became violent and stalker-y after we called the police on him. It took way too long for the police to finally be helpful about the aftermath (yay, TX... but that's another story). From then on, we agreed not to allow guys we don't know too well into our place out of safety. We do share our locations & let each other know if/when we will be home if we go out late at night (which doesn't happen too often because we are fairly introverted gals).
During my 2nd date with this guy, I was honest about this boundary my roommate and I set for ourselves, although I didn't get into the details of why. All I mentioned was that it was a previous situation that happened involving a guy who threatened our safety. He seemed to understand it at the time that I'm just so floored about why things happened the way they did tonight.
Tonight he asked if I would ever let him come over to my place. At first, I told him that it wasn't a bridge that I was ready to even cross yet, as I still don't know him too well. He then said that he could stay quiet and just chill in my room. I firmly said no. Then he asked why I am so adamant about not letting guys over. I reminded him that I don't want to make my roommate feel uncomfortable & asked him to stop pushing it. He suggested that all 3 of us go to dinner so he can convince my roommate that he's not a bad guy. In hindsight, I may have overreacted, but I had enough. No means no, in my perspective. I was reliving my traumas that came from men pushing their boundaries with me. I walked out and said goodbye.
I feel pathetic as hell. I was crying on the way home, hoping he would call and apologize. I should be proud that I was firm about my boundaries, but I just feel like an asshole. Why must I doubt myself?

So today I had what I believe to be on microagressive experience with other non-black muslims, but I would like to share my experience with everyone else to make sure I wasn’t over reacting in any way. Because I really do apologize if I was.
Yesterday, I was having a conversation in thw WhatsApp forum “LA Muslims Popcorn Room”with a few other Muslim people. Mind you, this forum was meant to talk about controversial issues and entertainment. The conversation began with everything that’s happening in Cleveland, Ohio and all of the missing children. We were talking about how a lot of metropolitan cities have lotta corruption in the police departments which allow for this sort of thing to happen by classifying a lot of these children, who happened to be black, as runaways or delinquents. Since we live in Los Angeles, I brought up the fact that our own county has a really large catalog of these kinds of issues as well. Keep in mind I’m one of the only, if not the only, black person in this space. The conversation then starts to talk about a lot of different places in America that are unsafe and I start to find that they’re listing all of these places that are predominantly, African-American or Black. One of the female members of the group then goes on to say, and I quote: “Los Angeles is just so ghetto. I feel like I’m gonna get shot at anytime!” Now, we all know that the number one cause of crime is poverty and that is a systemic issue, as well as the fact that a lot of financial disparities exist between the average black home and the average non-black home in America and being in a metro city only amplifies that. I have no problems with people being honest about that fact.
However— the way in which she said it, and the fact that it really didn’t feel fitting for the conversation we were having because it was about children, really rubbed me the wrong way. It felt very microagressive, because Los Angeles is known as a predominantly African-American city, and a lot of the violence in the city is inadvertently linked to that community by the media, and so on and so forth. It gave me racist when she said that. She claims to have lived in Los Angeles her entire life, can be caught hanging out in some of the most gentrified areas including downtown and Inglewood or all the way in Orange County, which is the exact opposite of Los Angeles. I let her know that comment was not appropriate and can be considered racist and microaggressive because of the way she used it, the place she used it toward, and just the pure connotation of that word. Everyone in the group instantly begins to turn on me and say that it’s not even related to race, that anywhere can be ghetto, and she even went on to say that she lived in Europe for a while in Denmark and the area that she lived in, would be considered “ghetto”. I let them know the history between African-Americans in Los Angeles, and even provided them with articles & pieces of real research to show why what she was saying was wrong and offensive and no one cared. Even more so they (another person, same group) double down after I decided to not engage in this conversation any longer and they continued with the conversation, and discussed how black people have it better than white people when it comes to “privileges” because we have the privilege of not being labeled racist and bigots just for our skin color. (They let this conversation be led by the white person of the group. 🥴).
They also went on to ask which privilege would you rather possess: black privilege or white privilege? ….
I decided to just exit the group and every group that I was in as a result of meeting anyone in that circle because this was some thing that hurt me personally being as though I was having a conversation with the people in considered and friends as well as brothers and sisters in Islam. It’s like 2 AM and I’m writing this because I can’t sleep from just the discomfort and the disbelief but also the pain. It really did ruin my day actually. It’s given me an adverse experience about anyone stemming from that group because too many of them allow it and say nothing. It’s very bad behavior for Muslim ppl to exhibit especially in a “Muslim” chat room. Every black person, Muslim or not, I know would’ve been offended by what they said today and what they let her say to begin with. What I have noticed is that many non black Muslim people only say or act like muslims when they feel like it. They don't realize that it is an essential part of identity that should be used on all grounds. You cannot pick and choose when to be Muslim and when to act like a Muslim. The fact that they’re sitting there discussing it after playing dumb and denying such a big part of it. Racism within that portion of the Muslim community or any Muslim community that isn’t predominantly black is almost always expected from my perspective. I am uncomfortable around nonblack Muslims at this point. Many have such micro-aggressions that they are so oblivious to and they’re unbothered when corrected in their speech. It’s disgusting.

So I (22f) use to work at a restaurant where I meet (22m), we got along quickly and one drunk night out we hooked up after finding out that we both wanted it. We’ll ever since then we both decided to become FWB, cool right well lately it’s been so Intense where we would just hit eachother up and check up on eachother , make sure we are okay. (22m) will time to time ask me for personal advice then follow up with the usually I want to see you. But I 22f hit him up one night stating I really wanted to see him and he didn’t believe it, once he came over instead of doing our usual brief conversation he just went in and kissed me with such passion like if this guy hadn’t seen me in years. The thing that got me co fused is that he admitted he liked me In the beginning but now idk what we are if we are just FWB or if there actually feelings involved and I don’t want to say anything to make it awkward. Hi all! I am an amateur photographer in Dallas, TX. And when I say amateur, I mean hobbyist. I am not state licensed or part of an official body, however I have come to be good with my equipment. I recently agreed to help out the owner of the small restaurant where I work to photograph the full menu. We didnt iron out a price yet, but i have taken photos of every dish which will be used on the business's website and for social media adverts.
I would like some honest feedback on what i should charge for this work. Equipment used was one lighting rig (stand, customizable color bulb, reflective umbrellas), nikon D3000, and of course an assortment of lenses. Photography took place over 2 days during my service shifts, but equipment was brought to the restaurant for over a week. I am also retouching the photos on my own time.
I would also like to say this is a small family restaurant. That coupled with my amateur status says I shouldnt ask for much, but I also need a new car urgently. Can anyone help me?

I just finished it, and was absolutely blown away. This is one of the few 10/10 shows I've ever seen. There is no overarching plot, but the setting is consistent each episode. Each vignette was unique, wholesome, thought-provoking, and either funny or sad as all hell. I'd definitely suggest a watch, and if you don't want to be spoiled I'd stop now. I'm going to focus on my 2 favorite episodes, which just so happen to be the really sad emotional ones (go figure).
But before that, I want to talk about the setting and tone. Its located in the future in space, where aliens and FTL/warp are common sites. The setting is deceptively light, with an optimistic retro throwback japanese hooligan style papering over a world with some rather dark facets. Even though there's a diverse range of aliens, not all of them are friendly (and the government is not friendly to all of them), and sometimes it can be difficult to tell who. There is rampant use of AI which is shown later to be essentially robo-slavery. And there is an intergalactic war occurring in the background.
With this in mind, lets start with episode 5. What makes this episode so powerful is the soundtrack. Let me explain: Dandy is essentially a space bounty hunter. He looks for new and/or dangerous species and (in the case of the former) abducts them to be recorded or (in the case of the latter) detained by the government (they never discuss what happens after that). To be honest, the system is never explained that well, for example there are lots of places where they "know" there are undiscovered species, which doesn't really make any sense considering said species are undiscovered. But anyway, this episode, Dandy hunts an alien from the dangerous list that can put peoples consciousnesses in other peoples bodies. The catch is this one is a little girl who has lost her only parent to a disease. This species is famously insular because the government and people who want to use them hunt them down, so this little girl has literally no one to turn to. She doesn't exactly come quietly, but she doesn't resist too much, and offers to allow Dandy to arrest her if he'll take her to her grandpa's old place before taking her to jail.
Its your typical lone wolf and cub story, where they start to care about each other because of their close proximity while traveling. He takes her to restaurants, the carnival, the movies, etc. The scenes themselves all seem to be rather happy, but the music is not. The lyrics that play over the montage ask "Is this a sad thing? Is this a delightful thing? I'll go check it out and then I want to show you, so please wait for me." Because this represents the girls inner monologue. She never got the chance to do anything fun with her mother, so she doesn't know whether to be sad that she's gone or happy to have these experiences. It also displays her hookup on the mother "leaving her behind". The thing that it reminded me of immediately was JJK when Sukuna tells the Lava dude that "he doesn't know what emotions/tears are either", but this is so much more effective because of the contradiction between the music and the scene and its sincerity instead of making the character say something cool and edgy. It ends happily eventually but I don't want to spoil anymore.
Lastly, lets talk about episode 12. This episode revolves around Dandy's AI vacuum QT falling in love with a coffee making robot at a coffee shop. The episode starts with the Narrator telling us that for robots, keeping memory usage low is important. Immediately followed by QT saying "The universe is full of waste. Particularly wasteful are the emotions felt by living beings, such as 'love' and 'affection'" When the trio goes to get coffee, QT becomes infatuated with the coffee maker after hearing her laugh. He keeps coming in, buying things, and making himself useful to go see her even though no one on the crew drinks coffee, least of all him. As a robot, if his circuits get wet, its over. Eventually his room on the ship is full of coffee stuff.
She tells him that she's jealous that he can move around. As a coffee maker she's static and can't explore anywhere. Later that night, he steals her and takes her around the town exploring as a "date". Around this time she begins to malfunction, and is thrown away to a floating trash heap with all the other broken (read, emotional) AI appliances. QT learns about this and goes to save her, where he learns that she loved the cash register the whole time, and that most of the robots left in the trash heap, not her but including the register, plan to combine into a death robot and destroy the city . She asks QT to stop the register from joining the death robot so he'll be safe, and QT fights the giant robot and stops it from destroying the city, but takes major damage in the process. The episode ends with a busted up QT sitting in his now remarkably coffee-free room. Aside from a single cup. He recites the mantra from the last paragraph and downs the cup, killing himself.
I love this episode because it touches on the AI ethics, which always touches on the "What defines the human experience" question. Its clear that the AI are almost (if not just) as sentient as humans are. And that despite that they are treated as tools or slaves rather than people. Dandy is incapable of cleaning up after himself or refueling his own ship without QT. I mean just the concept of being literally chained to your job and unable to physically move from your employment location is thought provoking. The episode also touches on difficulties dating and finding love. But what really got me was that mantra and the ending. The repeated mantra is meant to be ironic after a fashion, after all, it was QTs "love and affection" for the coffee maker that compelled him to save the city. But it also reaffirms that his beliefs have not changed due to his experience, and that, having felt and been let down by these feelings, he doesn't want to live anymore. It reminds me of Fraudrin in the Seven Deadly Sins saying "I don't want to understand". The "I'm too stuck to change and I just want it to be over already".
All in all, either of these episodes could've been well respected OVA's in their own right, and I highly recommend that people check out Space Dandy. They wont regret it.

So I work in a large college town, 35K+ students, but only since early 2021 as extra $$ since the pandemic killed my business.
Before this year's college term ended, I had 3700 deliveries with a 4.98 customer rating. During all those previous deliveries, I received 3 three stars and 3 one stars. Hey, I'm realistic, not perfect- people will mis-rate me or maybe I made an honest mistake. Shiz, it happens.
I never used to work after the kids left for the summer in years past, but this year I am because we need to move, my elderly father has cancer and I'm the only child available to care for him.
Well, not only has my income decreased by half, but in the last two weeks, I received 2 excluded ratings, 2 three stars, three one stars and a contract violation from a teenager with tons of crappy attitude I absolutely handed an order to.
I'm seeing red. Nothing I've done is different- I communicate, use a hot bag, am never late unless the restaurant causes it. But I definitely have seen a sharp decrease in the numbequality of the orders I'm receiving, especially since the fake contract violation.
Im a 46 year old woman whose extra money is now being sabotaged by children. And DoorDash couldn't give less of a sh!t. In fact, now that the high school kids are also out of school and dashing for summer $, they now get first dibs on the primo orders while I sit and watch from the parking lot. It's dehumanizing- all the hours, miles, times I've put myself at risk driving in snow storms, heavy rain, sometimes until 3am dodging drunk students and drivers- it counts for NOTHING. Time to go. Might be irrelevant, but can an employer still force an employee to wear a face mask? I work part-time at a small restaurant in Vancouver and all my coworkers and the employer are 3/4 vaccinated, I know in most areas in Canada, wearing a mask is a personal choice, but my employer still requires employees to wear masks. Do I have the right to say no?
it's getting hot, so wearing a face mask is quite uncomfortable, even when the air conditioner is on. And most importantly, I only wear masks at work, and now that it's a personal choice, I don't want to pay out of my own pocket every time I run out of masks, so I asked my employer if they would cover the cost of masks, and they said no.
Since the employer(my boss) wear the same mask for a couple of days, it seems a bit odd to logically impose on us the obligation to wear masks.

Hey, just as the tile describes, I am gonna live off-campus next semester. My course plan is gonna be: MWF morning and noon; TuThur afternoon and evening. In other words, I only going to stay on campus for half day, eat lunch/dinner, and then go back to my apt.

When I met him, I was assistant store manager of a restaurant, while he was on furlough (at the end of the rona times). I had my own place, lived alone, paid all my bills, this was something he said attracted him to me, my independence and work ethic.
We started dating, eventually living together.. instead of his furlough ending, he was made redundant (unemployed) so I got him a job at my restaurant.
Looking back it was an awful idea, every stress I had, he would witness and share.. after two month he told me to quit, saying they didn’t appreciate me, they used me, promised things they’d never give me.. so I left, hating the job.
So then we’re both ‘unemployed’ with bills to pay - I’m working any small jobs I can to bring money in, because nothing full time came through, he said he’d “take on two factory jobs if needed”. He got a call from (Internet company) to interview him in a month, then started training two months later. During this period we lived off my small income, his savings, then our credit cards and a loan in his name as I had one in mine already. To be clear: the loan included a ticket for a holiday we went on and actually got engaged (id paid for mine before unemployment) his car repayments, and bills.
He started working full time and that kinda stabilised us (we could pay rent, but not afford debt repayments plus bills etc) however I still struggled to find full time work after leaving the restaurant. So he suggests we move, 200 miles from my family and hometown, to live with his parents.
It’s been 6 months we’ve lived here… I’ve seen my family 3 times. I work part time (30 hours) and my coworkers tell me there’s no full time work here either.. I get “spoken to” over any slight mess or inconvenience I make to the in-laws eg. Left a coffee cup by the sink(to reuse), once I sprayed too much hairspray, not quitting smoking, buying unhealthy food, not offering to make everyone lunch/tea when I make myself food, or even drinks… OH gave me “a talking to” for buying a jumper 50% off on sale rack when shopping with MIL. He is pissed at me for spending 1/4 my income on myself, which is apparently disrespectful to the in-laws.
My part time job, he told me to apply for after not hearing anything back the first month of looking for full time. When I got hired, he was happy for me to be earning again - a week in, he and MIL are telling me not to get comfortable, look for new job that’s full time.. etc. A month in, I’m employee of the month and they’ve doubled my hours.
I’ve told OH I don’t want to be here anymore, I feel scrutinised and judged for everything. Sometimes he speaks to me like “oh you’re just gunna quit then? And give up? Just give it time… we have debt together”
Being so far from home.. having no control over my life anymore…. I don’t know what I can do to change things.
Tl;dr moved in with in-laws, nothing I do is good enough anymore

I had severe conversation social anxiety and got made fun by people that i can't talk to anyone when i was a young. I didn't have any female friends. Simple friendly conversation was terrifying with men or women.
What changed everything is exposure. I used to be the biggest critic and hater of exposure and always bashed it in forums or groups. I always made the excuse i'm already doing exposure since i had to go to school and was outside alot already. What difference would more exposure do. Not until i actually tried it VERY DEEP did it put a light bulb in my head and had a big realization that i actually wasn't doing it DEEP ENOUGH and LONG ENOUGH.
I started small by doing thing like saying hi to people and small talks with cashiers. Majority of people are nice and talk back, you can tell people that don't want to speak by them having a reserved face expression. I then made a commitment to go outside for 2 hours per day to start small & short convos with strangers then build my way to longer convos. I went to places that were easy to start convos with strangers that was social acceptable and wouldn't look weird. Places such as parks, bus stops benches, bars, parties, train stations, restaurants, etc.
You have to start small then build your way up. It takes time doesn't work right away. You should see small results within 2 weeks of consistent practice within 1-3 month your conversation anxiety will be almost gone. I can now approach anyone and hold conversations very easy with strangers.
The reason why you're social anxiety isn't at the worst spectrum is because you've been doing a limited exposure your whole life by by needing to go to work, school, & hangout with family. These forced limited exposure is what's keeping your social anxiety from going crazy. If you expand these areas of limited exposure you will see more social freedom in your life.

TL;DR: The vendor that sells the epic version of ping that I wanted is locked behind a body check that I will never be able to do as investing into body would be a waste with my build. If anyone else has experienced this was the door locked for you or do you know another way down there ? Also y u lock vendor behind a skill check CDPR ?
I just wanted to vent about this because it's absolute bullshit. I was looking up where to get an Epic version of ping, I hate tagging, and it seems to be limited anyway, so a longer duration on ping would be excellent, right ? So I look up if any of the netrunners sell it and it tells me Chang Hoon does and that I unlock him through Wakako's gigs.
Great, I hadn't done any of her gigs so I spend 3-4 hours on them until I get to the quest with Chang Hoon. I do it, he tells me he'll teach me stuff at some point, but doesn't have an option for it yet, bummer but no biggie. Probably just need to wait a few days, I pass about 72 hours from the menu. Still nothing. I look it up and find some posts that say to finish the last of Wakako's gigs and he'll unlock, lit.
So I do her last gig, look on the map, and sure enough, a netrunner icon where he was. Finally, I can go get my quickhack. I drive over, head down the alley, look at the door...and it's locked. Requires a body level of 6 to open. I'm doing a cool/int/reflex build centered around stealth, throwing knives and quickhacks. My body level is 3 and I cannot afford to waste precious attribute points on a stat I don't need...But wait ! It's attached to the restraunt, I bet I can get in from there ! So I head in through the restaurant, ready to get my fucking quickhack. I check the minimap, see that I can, indeed, get in there from the restaurant, and I walk to the door.
Locked.
Not barred behind a check, just locked, permanently. Absolutely nowhere in any post or on the wiki was it mentioned that you needed to make a body check to get back down to his basement. If it had been I wouldn't of bothered.
I am very sad, thank you for reading this nonsense and while I doubt it, if this is a glitch or anyone knows another way to get down to his basement I would very much appreciate you passing on this knowledge.
