Hey! I wanna try to revive this subreddit cause I recently got into collecting Pillow Pets! I've been collecting stuffed animals for awhile now, and I recently was reminded of the nostalgic love for pillow pets that I had growing up. I had the unicorn and my brother had the dog. One time for my 8th birthday, my Sunday school teacher got me a Dora Pillow Pet (even though I was a little old for Dora by then, I still appreciated the thought)
I joked about wanting a pillow pet for Christmas last year, and then I went to the site and saw that the Cotton Candy cow was on sale! I adore anything cotton-candy themed, originally I was gonna get the unicorn, but the cow looked so CUTE!!! (I adore the scented cows and I might have to look into getting the Pee Wees for the sake of my bank account.) and so my mom got me them for Christmas!!
sometime in February I checked the site again and saw that the Pride Axolotl was on sale for just $9! I asked my brother (who is also a stuffed animal collector- he mostly does Pokemon and Squishmallows) if he could lend me the money for it, and a few hours later (I'm at college and my brother and mom are at home like an hour away) I got a message from my mom with a screenshot of the order and the caption: "Happy Valentines Day :)" :D
The Pride Axolotl is Super soft and Super cute- he's just a lil guy!!! I'm so happy I got him- and even happier that I got him on sale! The Fairy Cow is on sale right now and I want her so bad šš„ŗshe's so pretty... If I can get my brother to combine shipping on an order, then I might just have to get her...
I'm also yearning for the Carly Cow Pillow Pet Puff... I don't care if they're "just copying squishmallows" with the texture/stuffing- she's CUTE and ADORABLE and I need her. skdhfskjdf. I also wanna get the Blues Clues one!!! she looks SO cute š„ŗ The Bubblegum piggy also looks ADORABLE but I might wait for her to go on sale before getting her.
Anyway- these are just my thoughts on pillow pets! Feel free to comment/share your own Pillow Pet stories in the replies :D

I love Squishmallows, I love their texture, I love how soft they are, I love that they come with personalities (I hate their names for the most part though lol)ā¦ however, I donāt feel the need to collect a ton of them?
I have my collection and I feel happy with it, thereās none Iām actively seeking and I donāt feel the need to buy every one I see at the store.
The other day I was at Hallmark buying a birthday card & I saw the blue floral cow, I picked it up and internally went oh! This one is rare! Cool , nodded my head, and then put it back downā¦ I didnāt feel like I needed it for my collection even if I thought she was kinda cute for a cow, or because she was ārareā, or because she was seasonalā¦ an employee looked shocked I was putting it back so quickly lol this is what made me wonder if I was an abnormal collector, because I know thereās lots of people who wouldāve gotten her just because they happened to find her & know sheās rareā¦ but I just had no interest š¤·š»āāļø & I feel absolutely no regret either! I know some others who wouldāve left her & then regretted not buying a rare squish lol

Ok so picture this, I love squish and have been collecting the past year or two. I have had a great experience and it still brings me joy hunting. Today I went by Walmart and found the fuzmellow squad( without the cow of course) it didnāt matter to me thought because I was in the hunt for the duck too! I found him and was so exited. I stopped in the store then realized that I forgot my money in the car. I went back and on my way out of the store I thought about if i actually wanted to but this $16 squishmallow. I feel like I am now going to regret it even though I bought Duster today. I have had this problem for a while where I always get caught up in it all but donāt actually want the squish when I find my isos or even disos. Has this ever happend to anyone and if so how did you cope with it?

2023.03.18 23:02 gaymer1220 the "culture" around squishmallows is so genuinely upsetting
I'm someone who grew up too fast and plushies give me a huge sense of comfort and 'healing my inner child' I guess, and squishmallows are the perfect ones for me. The soft fabric, squishy filling, and the huge amount of designs make them comforting. But the whole culture of rare or hard to find squishmallows, the resellers, the people who have a ton of the same squish, and just people going absolutely feral for certain squish (cows, mushrooms, etc) makes me really upset. I can't find any of the ones that I want without having to either pay a ton of money or literally hunt for them and look at every store that carries them, which is hard because I can't drive on my own yet. I know that this happens with anything that's collectible and desirable, but it's just really depressing sometimes, because these were originally made for kids and now (some) adults are ruining it. I feel like kellytoy is giving into it too, and the stores that carry them, because it'd be so easy to put a limit on how many you can buy. And Kellytoy seems to only put out a small amount of the desirable designs (again like the cows, mushrooms and stuff) or make them exclusive to one store. It's really goddamn frustrating

Okay, so I have always been obsessed with collecting toys and soft stuffies and my latest and possibly biggest collection obsession has been with squishmallows, theyre so simple, but their little souless blank stares are so cute to me.
My favorites are the halloween ones and the cow ones, but I have collected too many to count. I kinda collect whatever I find cute lol
I like them because they're so soft and squishy, and for me, the 12-inch ones are perfect for hugging while sitting down, and the 8-inch ones are perfect for holding out in front of you.
What are your guys' favorite squishmallows, maybe even top 5 or 10? What do you like about them? Are you super picky with which ones you collect? How many squish do you own? Are you guys also obsessed with the cow ones?
