My new 22 mini and mini sequin classic flap šŸ˜

2023.06.05 04:21 Kdelta93 My new 22 mini and mini sequin classic flap šŸ˜

Yesterday I was out shopping for a sparkly evening bag with my bf. I looked at some bags in Prada and Gucci with crystals that were around 5.5k, they were cute but not exactly my style. We decided to pop across the street and check out Chanel before making a decision and wow was I ever glad we did. My boyfriend ended up spotting a black sequin mini flap in a display case on a shelf, I thought for sure it would be 15-20k+ and to our surprise it was only 6.3k!!! It was a no brainer, the bag is stunning under light with a white to silvery blue shimmer at the top that fades to black.
Then after we checked out and we’re leaving the store, the lovely SA we met mentioned the 22 minis launch next week and she had a couple she could show us. I wasn’t a fan off the classic 22 but decided to take a look. She showed by bf the resale value on them and the rest was history! I ended up grabbing the white with gold hardware and love it!
I’m definitely feeling like I found 2 unicorns in one day ā¤ļø

2023.06.05 04:12 BigCommishShit I Like KENTA (Part Two)

The gods fear me.

Return of the Gangsta Thanksta
What if I just posted OutKast lyrics for my Part Three. KENTA’s back in the summer of 2016, and he vows to make it the Summer of KENTA because Fuck CM Punk. He wants his IC Title back, so we see him instantly target the fuckerman upon return, chasing him for a month straight. Legitimately. For a month of television, we see KENTA just sprinting after the afraid Miz. Miz has a match? KENTA’s chasing him out of it and costing him a countout loss. Miz has a backstage interview? KENTA’s right there to chase him away. Miz is asleep? Fuck that. KENTA’s there to mess it up because he wants the white belt back. During all of this, Dolph Ziggler has been trying to rekindle his career for the twelfth time since he lost the World Heavyweight Championship, but his attempts to spark a feud with the Miz seem to constantly be dashed by the Hero of Pain. With all this chaos surrounding the scene, the powers that be set up a triple threat for the gold at Battleground, but unfortunately Miz is able to sneak away a dirty pin on Ziggler following a KENTA G2S to keep the Black Sun away from his gold for just a little while longer.

SummerSlam ā€˜16
The rage tantrum seen thrown by KENTA afterwards is unrivaled. Nobody is safe, everybody catches it, but despite all of this it doesn’t seem like KENTA is likely to be given an instant rematch for the gold. His anger-driven antics are used as a prime reason by SmackDown General Manager Daniel Bryan as a reason not to draft the international sensation to the blue brand, though there are a multitude of reasons that could’ve led to that decision. Once this all becomes apparent, KENTA switches his strategy up, choosing to instead chase after the biggest fight he can get. A backstage interview weeks away from SummerSlam sees KENTA proudly say the name he wants, and boy is it the biggest fish. ā€œBROCK LESNAR!ā€ The Beast Incarnate answers KENTA’s challenge with ease, and a clash between these two unstoppable forces is set for the big summer show.
This match is a true test of KENTA’s merit, as he’s able to survive the offensive onslaught put on him by the Streak-ender and dish out some stiff strikes of his own as well. Lesnar hasn’t been hit this hard since Overeem, and once he gets touched, there’s a genuine level of fear in his eyes. He knows KENTA’s a true threat, and he does everything he can to put him away, before he’s able to eventually interrupt a striking barrage with a succinct F-5 that should wrap things up here… ONE… TWO… THRE-NOOOO!!! KENTA KICKS OUT OF THE F-5, STAYING IN THIS MATCH! If one doesn’t work, two should get the job done, but as he attempts the second one, KENTA is able to spin out and dash off the ropes for the Busaiku Knee onto Lesnar, though the Beast is able to survive as well. Throughout the entire match, KENTA constantly attempts to heave Lesnar up onto his shoulders for the G2S, but Lesnar’s sheer size weighs heavily on that now-surgically repaired shoulder of KENTA, and when he fails one too many times we see Lesnar swoop down and trap KENTA in a Kimura. He tries and tries to survive, fighting like his life depends on it, but after surviving the hold for a hell of a lot longer than he should’ve, HE’S EVENTUALLY FORCED TO TAP! Heartbreaking for KENTA. A second straight failure for the Hero of Pain upon return, did he return too soon?

Post-SummerSlam ā€˜16
Heading out of SummerSlam, we see KENTA compete on Raw for a few weeks after the show, handily defeating talent such as Curtis Axel, jobless Heath Slater, and Titus O’Neil merely with one good shoulder alone. After each match we see him fight away ringside doctors who attempt to ail his pained shoulder, but eventually we see backstage doctors refuse to clear him at all, sending him right back onto the dreaded injured list. Is this all that KENTA’s body will alow at this age? Do we think it’s time to hang up the boots? Spite is one hell of a motivator, and KENTA proves exactly that on…

SmackDown After WrestleMania
Bang. The Miz thought shit was sweet when he got drafted to an opposing brand after Battleground, but a surprise entrant in a #1 contendership battle royal proves otherwise. Bitches and sluts, it’s KENTA baby. He runs in, fully recovered, and wins the whole damn thing, earning a shot at Miz’s IC Title THAT HE WANTS ON THE SAME NIGHT! And by god, KENTA does exactly that, beating Miz senseless for mere minutes before three back to back to back G2S’s end things for the couple, reuniting KENTA with his Intercontinental Championship once and for all. 2023.06.05 04:09 vulpecula19 Opinions on this build? Anything I should change before ordering? 5800X, 3060 Ti, 32GB RAM

Finally upgrading from a 10+ year old rig and have my parts list planned. Will be primarily used for 1080p gaming with some web browsing. I was originally going for a 5600X but am leaning towards getting the 5800X instead (I think the 5600 would be enough but would rather go longer without needing to upgrade).
Budget isn't a hard set limit but would rather not spend a whole lot more than the current list. Monitor, peripherals etc are already acquired. RAM and SSDs are already on hand. Fan price is for 6 fans total, didn't see a way to change quantity without adding 6 different entries.
Open to suggestions and things to reconsider! Not my first build, but it's been a very long time.

I have no idea what I'm doing. The black desk has to stay. Willing to paint it. I am open to any ideas.
I do like black and gold but idk if it's too much with the DIY pic collage I did. Would white and gold look better (I like that too).
I have to buy the hemnes daybed because I have family over a lot.
What would you change or add?
Thank you so much 🄺

2023.06.05 04:02 T-A-W_Byzantine Looking to build my first PC, what can I improve?

I'm upgrading from a 6 and a half year old prebuilt desktop computer, so I want to start fresh and try my hand at building my own. Here is the list of parts I've compiled so far: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/skpDDq
I live in the US, so all prices are in USD.
AMD Ryzen 7 7700X 4.5 GHz 8-Core Processor - $315.75
Noctua NH-D15 chromax.black 82.52 CFM CPU Cooler - $119.95
ASRock B650E PG RIPTIDE WIFI ATX AM5 Motherboard - $239.99
Corsair Vengeance 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-5600 CL36 Memory - $92.99
Samsung 980 Pro 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive - $139.00
Sapphire PULSE Radeon RX 6800 XT 16 GB Video Card - $514.99
Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower Case - $94.99
Corsair RM850x (2021) 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply - $149.99
Total - $1,667.65
I'm looking to game at 1440p and 144Hz. I want dual monitors, but I haven't decided if I'm going to get two 1440p monitors or keep my 1080p 60hz monitor as a secondary one, so I'm leaving that off the cost right now. The rest of my accessories are pretty much settled. But I'd appreciate a second opinion on these parts I've picked!
I hear the 7700 (non X version) is a bit weaker but uses a lot less power for the same price. It also comes with its own cooler. So if I used the 7700X with the NH-D15 vs 7700 with stock cooler, which one would have lower temperatures?
Also, I don't think a 7000 series AMD graphics card would be that necessary for me for the cost. I play most triple A or "cinematic" games on my console with my TV, so I'm mostly looking for FPS. I've heard that strategy games like Civilization and Europa Universalis that I play tend to be more CPU-bound, so I think I'll get by with a last gen GPU.
I think I've really done my research but I'm still nervous, so if anyone else has any input it'd be much appreciated!

2023.06.05 03:55 PowerToTheOhana A Pickle Pete Critique, and A Big Thank You - Love the Game

Good day!
(I started this ramble as a feedback e-mail, but before finishing it found this sub-reddit where I heard the devs are active? Current game version as of writing: 1.5.4.)
A big thank you to everyone involved in developing and delivering Pickle Pete! It is easily in my top 10 most fun mobile games and I very nearly consider it a masterpiece of the genre. I've put in dozens of hours of playtime at the least.
I'll lead with critical bullet points, follow them up with elaboration and my experience, then end with praise bullet points for those that care to read it.

Opportunities for Improvement:
  1. There is no in-game method to replay the intro sequence.
  2. Each playable character should have their own, even if very short, intro animation.
  3. Intro animations / bestiary for enemies.
  4. Add more bang for more bucks.
  5. Honor those that spent gems on chests before additional rewards for cumulative openings was added.
  6. No in game text tips.
  7. Narrow preferable choices for mutations and equip-able active skill.
  8. Weapon attachments
  9. Farming the last available boss could be more rewarding.
  10. "Blessings" is an awesome system, but isn't congruent with the game thematically.
  11. Long animation delay on skill selection cards. Not an issue for new players.
  12. Add weapon trade-in vendor.
  13. Possible bug: when swapping apps and returning to Pickle Pete while playing Endless game play will continue, but pickles will refrain from dropping making points no longer acquirable until the run is terminated. Possibly intentional to reduce cheating.

I've been playing Pickle Pete over the last few weeks and it's clearly a step above most mobile games on the market now. I had completed all main campaign levels and additional game modes just before the level twelve update. This was of course followed closely by multiple other updates which kept resetting my endless rank. ::MadNotMad:: After 3 committed attempts I've broken into the top one-hundred twice and top ten once. I did all of this without purchasing anything...yet, nearly acquiring all of the bonus blessing stats, and working up to a purple SMG for a starter weapon. I still have no legendary gear...yet.
I've loved video games since my grandparents let me load up games I can't completely recall on their MS-DOS computer. I don't always have as much time as I'd like to game, but I have been mashing buttons for nearly three decades. I believe there is some overlap between what makes a game fun and what makes a game well designed. What people find fun will vary, but I see good design as a more objective truth. Even though I'm no professional it's clear to me that Pickle Pete had/has at least a rock star or two infusing good design principles.

1. First things first. The intro animation may have been added after I started playing for a bit. I can't recollect. In any event I skipped some of it. Sure I can and have viewed it on youtube, but it's still taking up space on my phone right? Can we get an in-game button to replay it?

2. Speaking of intro animations.. each character should get one! Even if just a short one that plays when acquiring one. (And maybe also a replay button.) It could highlight or hint at the different bonuses that apply at the end of their roll moves.
**Mr. Peely** \- Running, slips into a back flip, beginning of slip flip face is surprised/worried, midway through flip face is determined/smug, animation becomes a blur, lands while doing a split and swinging upward with an axe cleaving an enemy in two.
**Corny McCob** \- A yellow cylinder is rapidly spinning on two squares of butter, butter drops are being flung away at various directions, the cylinder launches away, three point hero landing, camera panning up from feet reveals a maniacal cob of corn holding a pipe bomb, glancing left and right, I don't like that look in his eyes or that blinking red light.
**Willy the Wiener** \- Is that a rapidly disassembled picnic table riddled with bullet holes flying through the air? Camera pans down to a beach front while cinders and charcoal pieces are jettisoned from a barbecue grill. Willy is tanning hides with a quickness holding dual uzis. Arms and uzis are a blur until they snap into clarity between each volley.

3. It's only fair that the enemies of the game get a little love. They're getting slaughtered out there! Something has to raise morale. Why not a little intro sequence highlighting their attack? And/or a bestiary somewhere in the menus. Descriptions with similar tone to what is found in the game Plants vs. Zombies would be fitting.

4. I find the current monetization models most prevalent, specifically in the mobile market, shameful. If I could go back in time and kill baby Hitler - I wouldn't. I'd smoke the mofo that thought it was a good idea to make Candy Crush monstrously profitable. Just kidding. Ninety-Nine dollars is a big chunk towards the latest gen console or a kick ass graphics card. Or... a pile of in game currency that shaves off some time and possibly puts you ahead of fellow gamers... I know it's just the way of things currently, but the cliche gem crates for various prices including one for ninety-nine dollars is personally a huge annoyance. It is one of the first things I look for in a game and determines along with the obvious passion that was put into the games creation that determines whether I will spend any money within it.
Money is part of what makes life unfun for many, and now more than ever it's detracting from a core reason gaming is fun. In my opinion games should be as level as a playing field as they can be outside of 'real life'. Paying to win robs fledgling gamers of skill ceiling, feelings of accomplishment, and the bragging rights that come with leveling up without swiping a credit card.
So dump the uninspired gem boxes for money or at least throw in some extra cosmetics, alternate soundtracks, or the option for players to add their own content. Something to move the needle in the other direction and show appreciation to those who help fund access and development for those that can't. The move would ideally garner more appreciation and wind up netting more money anyway. Or I might need to see an optimismoptomitrist about adjusting the shade of my glasses.

5. I haven't yet, but I will be spending some money on this game. It's too good not to. I'd like to at least craft a legendary starter weapon beforehand though. Just so I can say I did. It makes me wince a little inside knowing that if I had saved my marshmallows I would have spent enough gems on large chests by now to acquire a guaranteed legendary item. I opened three before the update was released that added the cumulative reward. Any chance a catch-up / credit can be implemented for all in the same boat?

6. I must have missed the message that explains the way the uncollected pickles and the pickle jar interacts. It took me longer than I'd like to admit to figure out what the jar was all about. Could we get this and other such game tips added? Maybe incoming update teaser message as well. They could be auto-cycling fade in/out text messages in the empty space underneath the boss picture on the stage selection screen.

7. I've read some google reviews of the game suggesting that melee weapons need adjusting. I think they're just fine. They receive strong bonuses from the viking four-set. They're best used to supplement range damage as the timing of damage between melee and low fire rate range is staggered. If you want to up the difficulty of the game, try going for full melee builds. It's like a hidden difficulty slider. An active skill equip could be added to enable the player to throw their melee weapons for a duration, turning such builds into a challenging wave clearer, but a monstrous boss killer. If nothing else throw in some Lightsab...I mean... Laser Swords.
What I find simultaneously the most easily fixed and largest flaw of the game is the narrow preferable choice in mutations and equip-able active skills. Similar to my perspective concerning melee weapons this system could be viewed as a difficulty slider. I think it would instead be more fun to modify them to make them more compelling. The damage bonus to enemies on fire would be more viable if the active skill that set the enemies on screen on fire was on a shorter cooldown. Now that I'm thinking about it though this combo may be just fine if you want to build up larger health enemies first or do more damage to bosses. The cooldown and fire duration still seem kind of dissatisfying. Maybe add hidden bonuses that increase the draw rate of things like the fire mace while either or both are equipped.
The knock back skill is more underwhelming than the fire. The most viable use I can think of for this one is securing supply crates. The cd could be shortened on the skill or turn the skill into a time warping bubble that begins with a knock back. While the bubble is active increase player attack speed and damage taken, but any enemies or projectiles entering the bubble will have drastically reduced movement speed.
Maybe more diverse enemies could then be added so that occasionally what once was an optional item is near mandatory for a time. Urging players to try out new builds for success while making more items feel like they've earned their place in the game.

8. One last item modification idea. Weapon attachments! Scopes, Stocks, Barrels, Carbon Fiber Axe Handles, stuff like that to modify 'Own' weapon stats. Maybe you have to collect pieces for them from specific bosses. Late game players would have a reason to return to earlier levels and in turn see the progress they've made as they rack up way more pickles than their first time through. This would also give a bit of a push/pull mechanic to the energy system. The energy system I suspect is just there to prevent supply crate farming abuse. I've rarely run out of energy while still wanting to play which I like. All attachments could be lost upon upgrading or resetting the weapon to keep the hamster wheel spinning, make the efforts toward building them more meaningful, and delay the realization of weapons full capabilities.

9. The above change would make farming the last available boss more rewarding as well. The latest boss being the most difficult to kill and dropping the latest released weapons attachments would give successive runs more meaning.

10. Another change that I feel should be done quickly is 86ing the blessing system. Not entirely. It is a win-win addition that makes watching nearly pointless ads more satisfying. But it just doesn't mesh with the Pickle Pete theme. Idea: 'Condiments' may not make sense for all of the characters, but thinking 'Hot Sauce' for the +25% damage boost. Visual effects for each can be added to the character to cement the system in the player's mind. "Aww crap my character isn't throwing off glitter sparks. I forgot to grab the the gold gain bonus."

11. This change suggestion is more for experienced players that have earned their stripes. When doing long endless runs especially the animation delay after picking skill cards is slightly annoying. It's not major, but I wanna go fast! Make this delay toggleable after the player has cleared all the extra game mode levels or killed the final available boss or meeting both requirements. Let's gooooo!

12. A change that would be good for players of all experience levels would be a weapon trader. Maybe you can set up a trade-in shop preference before level select. Should you find the merc vendor in a level you can trade one of your currently equipped weapons for an equal grade preferred weapon. Even if at an additional cost...gotta make pickles somehow.

13. Possible bug: when swapping apps and returning to Pickle Pete while playing Endless game play will continue, but pickles will refrain from dropping making points no longer acquirable until the run is terminated. Possibly intentional to reduce cheating.

Things that make you go 'Awesome!':

Looking to transfer some pens to loving homes-they don't get enough love from me lately. All prices include shipping conus shipping and are open to negotiation. I will ship outside of the country as long as you front the extra shipping costs.
Verification and Album: https://imgur.com/a/OQgCLjS
Model Color Rating Nib Description Price
Parker Sonnet Black with Chiseled Sterling Silver Cap B M 18k Gold In fantastic shape and authentic. This is one of the smoothest writers I have ever used $120
Pelikan M205 LE Star Ruby B M Steel Typical M205 but in a sexy sparkly red resin demonstrator. The pen is in great shape but a bit too feminine for me, I used it very seldomly. $140
Maiora Aventus Black and Orange C M steel I love how this pen looks but it just doesn't get any use. Still, could be a great introduction to an italian pen. As far as the rating, it has a C for two reasons-1) I had to modify this pen because Maiora messed up bad. I replaced the original screw in the cap with a flat one because you could not completely close the cap without damaging the nib. 2) The nib plating has come off around the nib slit: I'm thinking the Maiora plating is not so great. $95

I have a brand new X1 with sapphire black metallic paint. I have a very tiny, very light scratch on the door. It’s only visible at just the right angle and you can barely feel it with your nail. A body shop told me they couldn’t do anything to fix the scratch without doing the entire door. But a paint repair expert told me he could fix it.
My question is: Would it be possible to just repair the scratch without doing the whole door? Or would buffing one area make it look different since it’s black metallic? Is it worth risking letting this guy buff it?
It’s only noticeable to me so it’s not worth risking making it worse if that’s a possibility.
I’d love to know what you think! Thank you!

2023.06.05 02:54 EnigmaticSpirit85 TIFU by putting glue on my cat.

DISCLAIMER: There was NO intentional animal abuse in the making of this TIFU.
So for some reason, we have an extremely drug resistant brand of flea around here. When my Shadow (a 7 year old black cat) was younger, he got fleas every year. This led to a lot of bites, and they got into everything. I only managed to get rid of them using a specialist spray my vet provided, and a prescription ointment. After flea bombing the entire house, covering it with the new spray and using the prescription, we finally got rid of them.
My local vet has a scheme where you pay a monthly fee, and it includes all their annual shots, flea and worm treatment. You also get a small discount on vet consultations. No-brainer for me. Between that and my vet insurance.
So the medicine is mailed to me, and is mailed in my cat's name! My cat actually gets mail and I love this, it's adorable. So I opened it, there's a little silver blister pack with his worm pill, and a tiny white squeeze tube of flea treatment with tiny writing.
I have shockingly bad eyesight.
So onto the next part of our tale. I have extremely brittle nails from years of biting, and I had one snap right down to the nail bed. My approach to this was to stick a false nail over it, which stops most of the pain. Unfortunately it drops off from time to time, so I had the glue out on my desk from having recently re-applied said false nail.
You can see where this is going.
My Shadow is skittish, and he knows when it's medicine time, despite 7 years of incentivising with treats, getting him stoned on catnip, trying to get him when he's chill... he tends to bolt and run. So I caught him on the couch, which is next to my desk. I hold him by the neck and grab the tube from my desk to put it on before he escapes.
Except I grabbed the wrong tiny white tube.
I start to feel the heat from the glue drying on my hand, and I see a clump of fur on the back of his neck, and of course he's crying, meowing his objections. Knowing it's an irritant, I immediately called the vet for advice. They book him in and have me go on over.
It was the evening. My main vet is closed. I must attend the out of hours vet, and pay something close to £400 for the privilege. At one point they were talking about sedating him so they could properly shave and apply ointment and pain relief to the area, and calling the poisons unit (I supplied the empty tube of glue). But one of the staff was able to hold him while the other worked. My poor little guy has a nasty scar on the back of his neck and a bald patch. I spent most of the night waiting in the waiting room and crying and calling myself all manner of awful names, and of course, apologising to my Shadow.
My poor cat suffered from my mistake, and I feel terrible. Not to mention it's an expensive mistake. My insurance should cover this, but I had to pay up-front, and I'll have to claim it back. Even if they do pay me, it'll be 30 days, and minus my excess (I believe it's £100).
I am of course spoiling him with his favourite food and treats. He's avoided me since but does come for the odd conversation and a cuddle. I hope he forgives me.
TL;DR- TIFU by mixing up two identically sized white vials, leading to me accidentally putting nail glue on my poor kitty's neck instead of his prescription flea ointment.
P.s., Cat Tax.

2023.06.05 02:53 InsufficientDinner Agmatine Taper, Extract Shots

TL;DR I think agmatine really works for me. Ended up spilling my guts a bit up top, so scroll down for timeline.
---
I've followed this sub for a long, long time, mainly from my regular account (anon today for obvious reasons that are obvious).
First, I'll say this sub has given me a lot of strength. I find everyone's effort and perseverance to be really empowering. Don't give up!
I won't dive into my history with substance abuse, etc. but will focus on the Kratom use for the past 10 or so years. Had been more or less clean for previous few years from opioids. Started with some powder out of boredom with life. Eventually moved to caps for convenience. Decided to quit after a bit and was surprised (like many) about the w/d's. No stranger to them, and realized how the K w/d's weren't as acute as regular opioids, but a little more blunt and prolonged. Interesting. Well, I don't want to deal with that ever again. Until I did.
I think my last actual quit where I went through full K w/d's was summer of 2017 for maybe like 10-14ish days. Somehow, started again, and w/ liquid extracts this time (little 8.8ml bottles w/4 letters). It became insane for the next few years. I had a near quit in spring 2019 where I tapered down using stem & vein and plain-leaf, going from like 75%:25% leaf: s&v, then 50:50, then 25:75, to 100% s&v. Was taking such a tiny, tiny amount. I was surprised honestly how fast I was able to taper with only mild discomfort. I almost jumped (wish I had). Was having to take like .25g in the middle of the night to get back to bed. During this time I was also taking agmatine which I think I read about here. I wasn't sure whether it had much of an effect, but hey, whatever might work, right? Used to give me headaches sometimes at a 1g dose. Think I was taking about .5g during this taper.
Anyway, fast forward and addicts will do what addicts do and I was using insane amounts of extracts again, all different kinds. Then covid hit and of course my addict brain loved the excuse to stay home and use. I mean, who wants to see any other people anyway? Went through a couple relationships with women who were largely physically unavailable (something that's apparently a pattern I've recognized that needs work). But, despite that, I know I was not there 100%. Hell, barely 25%.
Anyway, recently had some health scares and realized it's time to be done. For good. I know how much of a better person I am off it. I sincerely live a good life, loving myself, when clean. Complete opposite while using. I booked some time off work next month and decided I would do a rapid taper.
---
So, here is the interesting part (I didn't really intend to write all of the above, so thanks if you made it this far to the meat of my post - I guess I needed a little emotional cleaning and coming to terms with my situation, so thanks for listening):
I was easily taking up to 4-5 extract shots (black bottle, gold lettering, 15 ml) and/or bringing in a couple of the 8.8ml four-letter shots.
In preparation, I bought (maybe a year ago? been a few attempts to quit), some small, glass bottles with eye droppers (1.25ml). Got on Amazon, also some with a glass funnel which is handy.
So, timeline:
-Tue(5/30): decide to quit, really slow my dosing; poured two shots in a couple bottles of 1.5l water to drink through the day. Total: 30ml
-Wed(5/31): had to go in to work so dosed half a leftover shot in am before work, then a sip of new bottle around noon, and the rest after work. Had another when I got home, because addict. Total: ~37ml
-Thurs(6/1): did about 1.5 shots, so like 22.5ml, throughout the day, in various dropper amounts (logged)
-Fri(6/2): did about a full shot diluted into water again throughout the day. Definitely starting to feel w/d's. Sad at things, tiny emotional floods, poop soup w/it's distinct w/d smell. Got worse throughout the day. Around 8 that night I took a full shot because of discomfort and because, well, addict. Total: 1 bottle throughout day, plus 8.8ml 4-letter shot.
-Sat(6/3): Remembered I had the agmatine and some vit c. Woke up in the AM and took about ~250mg of agmatine, 1g vit-c (powder), and maybe 10g whey protein. Popped a NAC and had maybe .5 ml CBD (full spectrum 1500). I repeated this every 4-6 hours. Ate some food. Didn't realize until I started eating that I had no real appetite and had to choke down the food. But, it was weird, like I didn't have to force like usual when detoxing, it just fell like I was full. Throughout the entire day I had like (3) 1ml droppers of the black-bottle/gold-writing extract. My lips were starting to burn a bit, like chapped (oh so familiar). Did a bunch of chores and exercise to keep busy and cleaned out a bunch of stuff, etc. Last night watched some TV and fell asleep on the couch for a short bit before waking up and going to bed around 11p. Woke up around 1:30a with some insomnia and was very aware of my legs. However, I was doing some squats during the day when exercising to stay busy, and I think I was feeling that. I don't think I have ever had RLS during any w/d's (lucky I guess?). Anyway, got up and took (3) 1ml droppers and fell back asleep. Total: 6 ml thought day and overnight
-Sun(6/4-today): Begin agmatine/vit c/NAC/CBD/whey at 7a when I woke; same repeat every 4-6 hrs. Did a bunch of chores. Dropped off old clothes to donation place, picked up stuff at h/w store, etc. Pretty active all day. Took 1ml dropper at noon (been keeping all dosages in an Excel spreadsheet). Other than repeating the agmatine routine, I took a 2mg THC microdose around 3:30 and that's about it. My lips burn, I get occasional runny nose, little bit of akathisia (this tends to be the worst for me, and what I suspect is a lot of the "anxiety" I read about here), with little waves of emotion. So far, total: only 1ml all day.
So, here is my conclusion (for me):
Now, I have no idea what tonight and tomorrow and beyond will bring. I suspect I'll take a couple droppers full right before bed, maybe an hour after ag/vit-c, so I can get through the night. I'm sort or preparing myself for a big "crash" to come and think the agmatine might just be delaying the inevitable. But, at this rate (literally), I think this stuff is working a miracle for me. Probably explains my previous easy taper from 2019. If I can keep these doses, or lower, for the next few weeks, I feel pretty confident. I know it will be hard. I've done it before, and I can do it again. One. Last. Time.
I didn't intend to write all this, just a brief description of my experience with the agmatine/vit-c combo. I've spent at least over $100k, and probably closer to around $150k in the full ten years (lost a few years worth of transaction data, including the last 12 mo when its certainly been the most insane). I "get by" when using, and am lucky to have a good job and the smarts to make it through without anyone noticing. But, nobody in my life knows. And I know it has had a devastating effect on relationships, etc. mainly because I go into hermit, anti-social mode and neglect friendships and relationships that require nurturing. I'm so tired and am so looking forward to having my life back. I wish us all luck and the strength to pull through this!

2023.06.05 02:53 I_Love_Cyndaquil2 Burnt out.

Let me paint a picture for you.
Within a dark basement room, illuminated only by the pale blue of a setting sun, dusty paper and cardboard covers the floor, some of the paper has math equations and some has notes on history, some paper talks of the current economy and the government. On the floor, faint music can be heard, it blares the distinct sound of heavy metal and rock, but where is it?
In the back left corner sit two gerbils, one beige and one grey, the top of the 50 gallon tank collects dust, they may not have much in terms of human interaction, yet they have all they need inside the cage, a perfect bedding depth that is changed weekly, a big wheel, a sand bath, and all homemade cardboard toys from safe non-toxic glues.
Near the entrance to the room a love seat presses against a blue wall, yet this couch has not been sat on in weeks, instead it is home to more paper and pencils as well as half finished crochet projects that have been tossed to the side as they have never been finished.
To the far left side of the room, a fireplace can be seen, however, this fireplace has not had any fire in a long time, inside it hosts a wide variety of cobwebs, while ashes and dust scatter the bottom of it.
To the far right side of the room an old worn down altar can be seen, upon first glance the table could be mistaken for antique, yet on closer inspection you would find it is merely in awful condition. Around the table a wide variety of candles, paper, and dusty jars containing different ingredients are found. The candles come in black, blue, red, and yellow, as well as green, pink, orange, and brown. The papers are covered in chicken-scratch writing in what appears to be another language. Yet all of them list the same things, spells, the language is a mere alphabet known as Theban. The jars contain egg shells and snail shells, charcoal and ashes, colourful stones and preserved flowers, needles and rusty nails.
The centre of the room is home to a wall-mounted television, the last time the screen changed was the early morning, beneath the television is a cedar chest, on top of the chest you will find granola bar wrappers and peels of various fruits as well as pop cans and water bottles, beside the garbage is old dishes, mugs that have old half drank coffee and plates covered in maple syrup from old waffles and pancakes, this is easily the most lived in part of the room.
A few feet away from the chest, and next to the altar is a sofa, it seems to be the reason paper covers the floor as every time the cushions move a paper falls to the floor. On the far left side of the sofa, near the entrance to the room sits a 15 year old fat boy with messy blonde hair. Caked on grease covers his face as he stares down at a math sheet, a pen in his right hand and a calculator in his left.
The boy is attempting to solve math equations, yet he is so burnt out, that despite reading the question over and over the words do not seem to make sense. The boy looks down at his wrists, pink shiny scars stare back, a reminder of what happened.
His mind flashes memories, he remembers waking to police at 5, he remembers watching his brothers fights, he remembers the time people attempted breaking into his house to kill his brother, he remembers everything.
He remembers his mother saying she wishes she never had him.
The boy feels sick now, a knot in his stomach and he looks at the calendar hung across the room, he counts 18 days left of school.
The knot tightens, for the coming summer does not mean a time of relaxation and recovery, it means fighting and stress. This homework does not symbolize a chance at passing, it symbolizes a failing future.
He reads the question again, ā€œSolve using either elimination or substitution. Be sure to write a therefore statement. Check the solution using a LS/RS chart for both equations.
4x - 3y = - 2
2x + y = 8ā€
He knows what to do, all he has to do is pick up the pencil and write, but he seems to be frozen, staring at the page.
A lady walks down the stairs, ā€œAre you doing your homework?ā€ She asks.
ā€œYeah… Yeah, sorry I’ll get to it.ā€ He starts writing but stops, the steps to solving it have gone, he’s forgotten everything.
The lady walks away, angry, the boy lifts his pencil, he swiftly lowers it to his ankle, he lifts his pant leg and slices, the burning sensation of a scratch covers his leg as it begins to form a long red line, it matches all the others, scars and scabs, scratches and cuts. Fresh and dry blood.
A sense of relief fills the boy, he lifts his pencil and goes to solve the equation, but again, he forgot it.
Instead he picks up his phone and begins to type, he describes the room he is in, he describes what he just did.
The lady comes back, it’s his mother, yet he doesn’t consider her one, she screams at him, tells him to get back to work, he heard the words, but they don’t seem to make sense, as if his brain has stopped translating the language.
And he describes it as it happens.
And then he posts the story as he feels fresh blood from the new cut trickle down his leg.

2023.06.05 02:50 HyzenthlayRose I took a nap and actually had a Neopets dream

A very, very weird one.
So in my dream my default pet was a Peophin with a long, ombre rainbow wig (the shape was similar to the Long Charming Grey Wig but the colors actually looked like the Rainbow Drape Dress).
So I was just browsing through the site as usual when I noticed I went to a new page and her picture glitched and she now had long bangs covering her eyes (the rest of the wig was normal but the bangs changed). I thought "that's weird" and took a screenshot.
Then the longer I browsed the site I noticed other weird changes like her eye was drawn differently, at one point her face shape changed and kind of resembled how a child would draw a horse poorly, and each time I took screenshots.
But then the weirdest plot twist of all was when I went to the pet customization and saw that ALL my pets have changes customizations COMPLETELY. The Peophin was now in a wearable background where everything was gold and glittering and instead of wearing her rainbow wig she had a big sparkly golden bow on her head, and each of my other pets had similar golden-themed customizations.
The whole time throughout the dream I took screenshots of every weird change thinking "Oh boy I can't wait to post this to the subreddit" but then I woke up and realized it never happened.
Nonetheless I just wanted to share this weird dream. And since in my dream I planned to share my evidence here I guess I dreamed about Reddit too lmao.
Looking back on it now this sounds like a Creepypasta but instead of everything getting more and more disturbing it's just innocent Neopets customizations lmao.

2023.06.05 02:49 Novel_Cap3237 Should I take this job?

So I just received my first offer as a sales rep at a local roofing company in Denver. The job involves door-to-door sales in pre-scouted neighborhoods. I just graduated college a few weeks ago, and have been looking into sales jobs as an interim job before I go to law school. I became interested in roofing sales because it is a relatively simple product and pitch, it does not take a long time to build a client basis since I will be leaving for law school anyway, and because the market for roofing in Denver is pretty hot right now.
The offer I got was really good. Starting base is $50k with a pretty generous bonus structure. The hiring manager told me a reasonable OTE for first-year sales reps at their company (given current market conditions) is $120k/yr. I also get phone bill reimbursement, health coverage and a 401k, and a company truck after a proven track record. This was baffling to me and made me begin to wonder. I'm not so concerned about if I can do the job. I'm young and have nothing to lose, I am personable and comfortable talking to strangers, and I can handle rejection fine. What I'm more concerned about is if I should be doing this. I recognize that everything that glitters is not gold, so I don't want to be tied up in something shady. My intuition tells me that a oppurtunities with relatively less qualifications for such high pay expectations should have much more stiff competition. The company seems legit, and all the other reps I've talked to seem to love it, and according to the sales manager and other reps, many of them are on track to hit $150k+ in their first year.
I recognize that this is dependent on the individual company and on my own hustle, but I have no real experience as a salesman or a roofer, so I have no reference frame. I was wondering what some of you veterans think about it. Is this too good to be true? Do I really have the ability to gross a 6-figure income or am I being sold a pipe dream? Also, if any of you guys have any personal experiences, whether they be great or terrible, please feel free to share them! I'd love to see your guys' backgrounds and stories about being a roofing salesmam.
TL;DR: Got a great offer for job as a roof salesman. $50k/yr base + Uncapped bonuses + Benefits. Don't know if it is too good to be true. Thoughts?

2023.06.05 02:20 JohnWarrenDailey Full review of Prehistoric Planet

Follow-up to my last post:

An Attenborough documentary on dinosaurs with the same CGI that made The Jungle Book so lifelike? I couldn't think of a greater sell. But was it worth it? Would it give me the same sense of wonder that I felt when Walking with Dinosaurs came out 22 years earlier?

The first episode, "Coasts", is overall the strongest episode of season 1. Starting immediately with a swimming t-rex (Tyrannosaurus rex) leading his children to an island where he smelled a dead archelon (species unknown, as no Maastrichtian-age archelon was ever found in the fossil record), that first scene showed the promise of the show as a whole. Seeing CG baby t-rexes interacting with live-action baby turtles is both concerning (as sea turtles are currently endangered) and entertaining, as they are demonstrated pretty goofily. But after that, we are done with dinosaurs for the rest of the episode.

We cut to the one scene that, while endearing with a riveting soundtrack by power couple Anže Rozman and Kara Talve, does give me pause. The pterosaurs featured in that episode were based on bones so fragmentary that they couldn't be diagnosed. How can we be sure that Barbaridactylus was a member of the antlerwing family, Phosphatodraco a member of the simurgh family, or even Tethydraco a member of the pteranodon family? How do we even know what Alcione even looked like? Also, the score doesn't really match the slower, less urgent movements of the pterosaurs.

The next scene was described as "the sunken continent of Zealandia", which is a refresher to see the lost continent bearing recognition for a change. Here, a family of plesiosaurs (Tuarangisaurus keyesi) comes to the coast to gulp themselves on anti-buoyant rocks, while the males ceremoniously poke their long, heavy necks up to the surface, the only good moment in an otherwise generic sequence.

After a quick focus on coral, we get treated to a Hoffmann's mosasaur (Mosasaurus hoffmanni) relying on fish and shrimp to give him a good, proper scratch, only to be pushed out of turn by a younger male. This sequence sticks out to me because it shows mosasaurs being portrayed as animals, not as monsters to shadow Nigel Marven or kaijuified Blackfish bootlegs.

The next scene shows a dazzling, mesmerizing mating ceremony of ammonites ("scaphitids", they were called, but that doesn't determine specific species, as it was a very huge family). They glow in the dark and mate very particularly. If the male's flashes don't sync with those of the female, he'd be rejected. Complimenting this alien but still soothing scene is Rozman and Talve's equally alien and soothing score.

Back in Zealandia, we end with plesiosaur pod mentality, as the whole group defends a pregnant mother from a kaika taniwha (Kaikaifilu hervei). As with the previous plesiosaur scene, it wasn't a scene that I got too crazy about.

The next episode, "Deserts", isn't really as impactful as the Planet Earth episode of the same name, both in regards to execution and the musical score, and it was riddled with confusing scene decisions. The first scene demonstrates a lek of dreadnoughts (Dreadnoughtus schrani) acting like a combination of elephant seals and frigatebirds, right down to the pops on their necks. The score in that sequence is definitely memorable, as it (literally) highlights the weights that the males take to demonstrate their fitness to attract the gaggle of girls in the audience. Though I'm left wondering--did the upstart beat the veteran because he was stronger, or because he popped one of the veteran's neck balloons, as male frigatebirds would do to ditch the competish?

Once the sauropod show is over, we now move to what was presumed to be Nemegtia, but it was portrayed to be as dry as Djadochta, which leads to the next problem. While there was evidence of Maastrichtian-age velos in Central Asia, calling them "Velociraptor" is just wrong. I grew up watching Walking with Dinosaurs, which means I watched "Giant of the Skies", which featured Utahraptor in the wrong place at the wrong time. And while the American cut justifies this with a demonstration of a land bridge that connected North America to Europe, I don't know how much water that holds, and that doesn't seem to be relevant anyway, for the damage has already been done. So having in Velociraptor, a genus of velos that went extinct 71 million years ago, in Nemegtia, which was set 66 million years ago, is just a rehash of that previous mistake. In short, Prehistoric Planet has Utahraptor'd the Velociraptor. And besides, hasn't the picture of pack-hunting raptors already been discarded?

The next scene, the one with the Nemegtian mononych (Mononykus olecranus), is cute but not top-notch memorable, and its color choice is teetering way close to the point of plagiarism.

Afterwards, the brief but violent rains have created a watering hole in the middle of the desert, luring in dinosaurs and pterosaurs from miles around, including a wandering khan (Tarbosaurus bataar). The reason that scene is so low was that it was just a near-identical rotoscope of the Water Truce sequence from The Jungle Book, right down to the herbivores making a clearing for the khan.

Then we go high up to see more Barbaridactylus. This scene I wasn't aware was a problem until Unnatural History Channel brought it up in his video, but the females were shown to be oddly consensual towards the similar-looking sneaky males, who use their feminine appearances to sneak past the larger, more impressive males. This is a problem, apparently, because the more extreme the sexual dimorphism, the more likely the sneaky male will be rejected and therefore resort to assaulting the females.

The last scene is an interesting one, albeit one that suffered an unmemorable score in the soundtrack. Apparently, salty southern duckbills (Secernosaurus koerneri) can thrive on dunes of gypsum, but when rains hit the coast, they rely on both their tenacity and their know-how of the sky to get to more productive grazing. This scene stands out to me because I question why any large animal would choose to thrive on such a taxing environment. It'd make sense for an animal as small as the cryptile, the scrofa and the gryken from The Future is Wild, but not for a duckbill bigger than 16 feet long.

It is unanimously agreed upon that "Freshwater" is the weakest episode in the first season. Apart from the humpbacked false duckbill (Deinocheirus mirificus) getting a scratch in the swamps of a more accurate Nemegtia and the devil frog (Beelzebufo ampinga) making a snack out of a baby whacktooth (Masiaksaurus knoplferi), the habitat itself has been relegated to the backseat, which is why the mating scene of the t-rex and the laying magnificent simurgh (Quetzalcoatlus northropi) are on the C tier, good scenes that have been damaged by simply being in the wrong episode. Speaking of the latter, memes have popped up in which the faces of dinosaurs have been pasted over two shots of Monty Python and the Holy Grail, with either Masiakasaurus or the Planet Dinosaur model of Majungasaurus being Galahad and the Quetzalcoatlus being the French taunter ("What are you doing in Africa?" "MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS!") when, really, that meme is more applicable to Velociraptor being in the Maastrichtian. On that topic, not only is it STILL in the wrong time, there is another problem, one I didn't pay attention to until Unnatural History Channel brought it up on his video. Instead of showing audiences raptor prey restraint (or "RPR"), the storytellers relied instead on mountain cats to show the velos hunting the pterosaurs (species unknown). Like the Deserts episode, Planet Earth has a far stronger "Freshwater" episode.

"Ice Worlds" didn't excite me as much as "Spirits of the Ice Forest" did, which is a shame, because dinosaurs in the snow is a refresher by default. We start at Prince Creek, which I couldn't ask for a worse place to start because the cast list is very fragmentary. In the opening scene, a pack of raptors (species unknown, though modeled after the pitbull raptor), shadows a herd of ugrunaaluk (Edmontosaurus sp.) for a long-delayed meal. Again, the picture of raptors hunting in packs has been debunked for a very long time now. Why insist on resorting to old cliches?

The Ornithomimus scene (can't think of a vernacular for them), while the designs look cool and add distinction to overall character, is still just a rotoscope of the Adelie penguin sequence from "Frozen Planet". Next.

The sequence with the swanneck (Olorotitan arharensis) is even less impressive. Are horsetails really more nutritious than grass? If so, then why have grasslands been the dominant plains since the Miocene?

The reason the scene with the tro-o is relatively low on the tier list is that it should have been longer, because a dinosaur with the intellect of a fire hawk is a very interesting prospect. But the final scene was just too short and too bland to show off any real gold.

We have spent so much time in the north that I question the necessity of a quick detour to Antarctica, rendering the scene with the polar macahutiul (Antarctopelta oliveroi) my least favorite of the series.

The final scene demonstrates the predator-prey dynamic between the northern boss (Pachyrhinosaurus perotorum) and the nanook (Nanuqsaurus hoglundi). The scene is great, the score has some very rhythmic moments, but what puts it low on the B tier are the nanooks themselves. From a distance, they look as good as most of the others. But in closeup, they look kind of fake, especially when they're running. Which brings up to the next problem--the story is based on fossil footprints of different lines pointing in the same direction. But how do we know that those parallel tracks were made at the same time and not separated within hours, days or even weeks of each other? And while it is true that nanooks were smaller than t-rexes, their portrayals in the show were just too small. More recent consensus shows that one nanook could easily match a boss in size, if not overtop it.

"Forests" is an everywhere kind of episode. The opening scene with the austroposeidon (Austroposeidon magnificus) is not long enough to get me invested.

Then a herd of trikes (Triceratops, species unknown) visits a cave to visit a clay lick to neutralize the poisons from their plant food. But why clay? Why not salt? Herbivores can clearly deal with poisonous plants without problem, but plants lack sodium, which is why the elephants of Mount Elgon (the inspiration behind that scene) scrape the caves not for clay, but for salt.

This next scene has gotten everyone talking. A male minotaur (Carnotaurus sastrei) clears the stage to wave his arms around to impress an impossibly stoic female. Everything about that scene--from the choreography to the score--is very goofy, and that is what makes it work so well.

While it is nice to finally see the Pinocchio-rex (Qianzhousaurus sinensis) in the flesh, its hunt for bright blue corythoraptors (Corythoraptor jacobsi) is not a scene I'd be in a hurry to revisit.

The fire scene is oddly slow, the only memorable moment in the whole sequence being my first official introduction to Atrociraptor marshalli...literally just one short week before Jurassic World: Dominion predictably ruined it.

The scene with the baby Therizinosaurus is passable. While it is cute to imagine babies having a taste for honey, it just wasn't executed memorably.

The final scene, the one set on Hateg Island, slogs on in pace, with the greatest focus being a bunch of odd-looking baby zalmos (Zalmoxes robustus) running and hiding from the real star of the episode, the robust simurgh (Hatzegopteryx thambena), looking more proper than how it looked in Planet Dinosaur. One question, though--weren't pterosaur wings supposed to be rounded at the tip? Sure, they've got the hands pointing backwards, but the pointed wingtips is now believed to be an outdated picture.

So it goes without saying that years of watching a moderate quantity of Attenborough documentaries has made the watching experience of Prehistoric Planet, at least in comparison to the original Walking with Dinosaurs, a bit numb. The creature designs are good, the CGI has not faltered in its photorealism from The Jungle Book, and even the soundtrack has enough of a score to make it memorable. But it's the stories that amount to the overall numbness of the first season. They hadn't opened my eyes in the way that Walking with Dinosaurs did.

When season 2 was announced literally one year after season 1, I had my doubts. Planet Earth 2 came out literally a decade after the first Planet Earth, and the differences in filming technology and musical score clearly show that. Same for the 16 years that separate The Blue Planet from Blue Planet 2. Dynasties 2, by contrast, came way too soon after the first Dynasties, and the end result is sloppy, from the stories being set at the tedious start rather than at the steady prime to the score from the first Dynasties being reused so often that the only episode to have any new music was "Meerkat". So to find Prehistoric Planet 2 come out literally one year after Prehistoric Planet, I was concerned that it'd be as shorthanded as Dynasties 2 was. The opening episode, "Islands", kind of suffered that, but it thankfully wasn't as severe a problem.

The first segment of that episode struck me as odd because the adult zalmo looks weirdly identical to the baby model from last episode.

While it is cool to see the robust simurgh being expanded upon, I personally wish we'd stayed at Hateg Island, where they'd hunt the Transylvanian dwarf duckbill (Telmatosaurus transylvanicus) and not the funky combbill (Tethyshadros insularis).

One of season 1's most recurring complaints is "no crocodiles", which is pretty apt when you consider how diverse they were during the Cretaceous period. So to see the Malagasy armadillo (Simosuchus clarki) at all, let alone stand up against a mahjong (Majungasaurus crenatissimus), is one to remember for the ages.

This next scene is actually pretty interesting, in which we see Adalatherium, which wasn't a true mammal, but rather something hovering closely outside the taxonomic boundaries. It's a long sequence, which is just as well, because this is as new a clade to me now as the cynodont was when Walking with Dinosaurs came out.

As with in "Ice Worlds", a quick detour to Antarctica doesn't seem necessary to me, as the hunt between the Imperobator and the Morrosaurus feels more like a skim.

The last scene in the episode is my personal favorite, in which a male robust simugh stands on a sandbar to do whatever it takes to impress a mate.

"Badlands" stands out in that there are only two settings. The first one is the strongest because of how the Deccan Traps, long reputed to be the co-culprit to the fall of the dinosaur empire, has been repurposed into prime nesting estate for a herd of sauropods (Isisaurus colberti). The journey seems reckless, but volcanic sand is hot and toasty, something that a modern species of dinosaur, the megapode, also exploits as it lays its egg in the hot volcanic sand of the Solomons.

The next scene hasn't fixed on last year's problems, in which Velociraptor is still there and it still hasn't performed RPR--it just kicks an herbivore off a cliff, and that was that.

The nesting Corythoraptor scene didn't interest me, but what really bugged me was that the antagonist of that sequence was a kuru (Kuru kulla), a raptor who, like the pterosaurs on the "Coasts" episode, was based on incomplete, fragmentary specimens.

The sequence with the tarchias (Tarchia, species unknown), is a refreshing detour from the previous sequence because we have a better idea as to what they would have looked like. And to see them slog around for an oasis is a second highlight (next to the Deccan nursery).

This next scene has nothing new added from either "Time of the Titans" or "Alpha's Egg", in which a herd of baby sauropods gets picked on by larger predators on their way to the safety of the forest.

The majority of the "Freshwater" sequences I feel fit better in "Swamps". The same unnamed pterosaurs from "Freshwater" have reappeared, this time trying to fly past an approaching population of alligators (Shamosuchus djadochtaensis).

The next episode features a grizzly bear gathering of austroraptors (Austroraptor cabazai) hunting gar. It stands out as highly as it does because it shows a species of raptor that looks and acts differently from the usual velo or nych. Plus, we know many miles more about austroraptors than we do about Spinosaurus, so that is a relieving plus.

The devil frog stands out in this episode, and to see a grumpy male try to fight off a herd of goavambe (Rapetosaurus krausei) is humorous. It also deviates from the usual picture of "the frog that eats dinosaurs".

This next sequence I was very concerned the moment I saw it in the ads. Thanks to Jack Horner, the poorly-known family Pachycephalosauridae has been under very hot fire with the notion of bone sponginess being a taxonomically viable method of identification, which it really isn't because all amniotes have spongy bones in their teens. But very thankfully, this sequence does not resort to Hornerism. It shows that older males do get longer horns on the backs of their heads, not the other way around. Also, new evidence has shown that the domes may have been covered in shiny skin, so this has me asking--is the dome a boys-only trait? Could that dracorex (Pachycephalosaurus hogwartsia) skull that I saw at the Black Hills Museum just be a girl entering her sweet 16 when she died? Could those stygimoloch (Pachycephalosaurus spinifer) skulls just be those of high school footballers?

"Swamps" ended on a high note with a couple of t-rexes hunting an anatotitan (Edmontosaurus annectens) in the dark. One just walks to the duckbill, and the animal, in its panic, goes right in the direction of the other t-rex in hiding. This perfectly reflects the current understanding that t-rexes exchanged fast running for better walking. Now can we see some duckbills fighting back, please?

On May 26, The Little Mermaid came out in theaters. A day earlier, "Oceans" came out. If I were to choose, I'd stick to the latter, simply because we're treated to fresh new stories with a wider variety of mosasaurs and ammonites than any of the Walking with programs ever did. The scene with the hesperorns chasing bait fish only to have themselves be chased by bulldog fish (Xiphactinus) is a classic, but a good one. However, "X-fish"? What's wrong with "bulldog fish"? But the highlight, no doubt, is the final sequence, in which a Hoffmann's mosasaur killed a juvenile plesiosaur simply by ramming it great white style.

"Freshwater" was weak due to being sorely unfocused. "North America", by contrast, is even weaker for being too rushed. Also, the "scars make the man" narrative with the trikes bugs me the most. What justification is there for that?

This has been a very exhaustive review of Prehistoric Planet, and it's way too early for me to worry about a season 3 coming out, if there is going to be one.

2023.06.05 02:01 ManBehindReality The black tale.

A couple months ago me and my friends went on a camping trip. We had a small trailer and there was five of us, small enough to barley fit in the trailer but we managed. We liked to swim in the lake, go on hikes, that kind of stuff. We often told campfire story’s at night. They were never that scary. That was until one night we were all sitting down at the camp fire talking, drinking and snacking having fun. It was pitch black out with the only light source being the orange glow of the campfire.
We were surrounded by thick bush with a small trail leading to the main path area. We were beside the public bathroom area that was connected to the path. As we were all listening to one of my friends telling a campfire story, a tall pale man wearing old worn clothing and a cowboy hat with one of those big backpacks came out of the path. He interrupted asking if he could listen to the story, my friend (let’s call him drew) didn’t think much of it and politely said yes. Me, a bit suspicious, moved over to a log placed beside my friends chair a bit away from him. I sat down and he continued on with his story.
A few minutes later he Finnished the story and the man who came in , asked if he could tell a story. He explained it’s not like any other story, it’s one that will leave you sick in the stomach, one that will make you scared to fall asleep at night. They said sure and shrugged it off. Me, feeling a bit weirded out by the whole situation, told them I was going to use the bathroom. I went down the path as he began his story. I walk in the bathroom and go on my phone for a couple minutes I hear the old mysterious mans muffled voice in the background. After about ten minutes passed, I walked back to the area to see my friends staring blankly into nothing as if they had seen or heard something horrible.
The man was gone and it was completely devoid of any sound other than the faint crackle of the fire. I laughed it off and asked them what the man had told them. Drew, looking like he just saw a ghost just told me the man was sick walked off to his bed in the trailer. The other ones seemed pretty out of it as well. I didn’t really think it was a joke at this point. They put out the fire and walked back to the trailer. I put out the fire and got into the trailer. A couple minutes after I finnaly got comfortable, one of them groaned and insisted we slept with the lights on. I gave him a funny grin and he got really mad and told me that we don’t know what could be out there at night time. I shrugged it off and turned on the lights.
As we started to sleep one of them jolts out of their bed and the other ones all quickly looked at him in fear. He explained he woke up from a bad dream, drew got up and said he can’t do this anymore. The other ones were just as paraniod. I was starting to wonder what they had heard. I told them to just go to bed and they would be fine in the morning. I fall do sleep after about 20 minutes. They were still completely out of it. Around 3:20 I heard a loud thud. I looked around and they were all still up and biting their nails and looking around anxiously. I was still half asleep so I just went back to bed.
The next morning would be the night that will be forever burned into my memory. I woke up to find every one of them mangled beyond recognition. They were stretched and twisted , their face was completely frozen in the most disturbing facial expressions I have ever seen in my life.
Their fingers were crooked and their body was covered in blood. I screamed in complete horror as I ran out of the trailer. I didn’t call 911 I just started my car and drove out of that place as fast as I can. It’s been a few months and it’s still not on the news. I don’t know what they heard that night but what ever it was, I’m so glad I didn’t listen. If you see this crooked pale man, please, please respectfully leave.
