So, in 2015 I went into detox for alcohol abuse. I’d never tried any benzos, but diazepam is the go to withdrawals drug and so I was put on them and got through detox fairly unscathed. I decided I wasn’t going to drink for a while after that experience, but I had this niggling attraction to this drug they were giving me in the detox. And so I went to my GP and asked him about diazepam with an excuse about going overseas and not wanting to drink, and I needed something to calm my nerves. I got them with a lot more ease than anticipated and so 50x5mg were consumed in under 7 days and life was good. No withdrawals, no depression, nothing. I did this every few months for years, with no real noticeable side effects. Fast forward to 2019. Ordering a bottle of Xanax online, also consumed within a week or so (50x2mg) - still no real withdrawal, comedown, anxiety or sleepless nights. But then with the 3rd bottle I ordered at the beginning of 2020 - (ate them all in around 7-10 days), I started to feel a bit strange on the first day without. On the first night without them I really started to feel some anxiety. And the BANG! It was like the suppression of all these feelings came back at once and my brain exploded! Fireworks of thoughts and emotions for a good 10 hours straight whilst a laid down and sweat and panicked and cried. I was so scared I called my mum and she drove 2 hours and took me to a doctor who gave me some diazepam and I eventually tapered off everything without too much more pain.
Now every time I take benzos (a little more responsibly, but far more than advised) I get fairly serious withdrawals! Valium, Klonz, Ativan, Zans, all give me a fairly long, horrible withdrawal! Up to 3 weeks with relatively little use!
What the hell is going on????? Am I just more aware now?? Is something different I’m my brain??
*I’m now a few months clean, in NA and I’m loving sober life. I can’t believe I didn’t give this a shot years ago! Numbing, hiding and not embracing feelings has been no life at all 😘

My parents broke up before my mom knew that she was pregnant. It was a big deal since my father's chance of conceiving was under 1%. So when my mom confessed that she was pregnant with twins, he wanted a paternity test, which is fine.
Me and my sister are indeed his. But since my parents weren't married and didn't plan to get back together my grandparents (fathers side) saw in us unwanted children that simply exist. I think another reason why they did not like us is, because we both turned up to be girls in a family of just boys. Meaning no girls in the last 100 years.
Meaning no boy to carry on the family name for my dad.
My sister was born with a heart condition and when we were six she sadly passed away after an emergency surgery. When my mom called my father to give him the news he refused to come home since he wanted to enjoy his boy trip.
At the funeral ( that he refused to pay for) he told everyone that it is my mom's fault that she passed away.
Me and him did not have an easy relationship. i usually had to call him or ask him to pick me up, because he just kept forgetting about me. I was surprised when he suddenly wanted to pick me up when i was six to introduce me to his new girlfriend. Turns out i was just supposed to be the babysitter for her two-year-old son, so they could make out on the sofa.
That was the point i realized that he only wanted me around when he needed me and i was tired of running after people that did not want me.
I stopped calling and soon we went no contact.
A thing that still hurt me was that he always bought flowers to my sister's grave, even though he lived three hours away, while i did not even receive a birthday text. I think it hurt more knowing he knew it was my birthday but did not botherthan rather thinking that he must have forgotten about it. Because he didn't he just did not care enough.
I recently had my 20th birthday and was surprised to get a text from my father, telling me that he missed me and that we should meet up.
I soon found out that he has cancer and i was the only possible match.
So i drove three hours to this hospital. As soon as i entered the door this barely legal girl started to attack me. She screamed and insulted me with names i don't want to repeat. I had no idea who that girl was or what i did to make her so angry.
When my father and his parents entered the scene, he simply laughed it off. He later admitted that this girl was his new girlfriend and that she saw my text messages with my father. She asked him who i was and he said that i was some crazy ex girlfriend that just couldn't get over him and that used to stalk his every move.
He said he did it because he was embarrassed of me for my work, because i never did anything with my life (i am an elementary school teacher) and that he already told that young girl that his only child has died.
I was angry and left without saying anything the hospital.
While i drove back home i received hundreds of calls from family members i did not even know i had that called me names and said i was the AH for leaving before donating my stem cells.
I am just at a point where i am tired of being used and thrown away like an object he is entitled to.

I have a plethora of smart home devices that require 2.4 ghz connection. For months now they have been functioning perfectly with no issues.
2 days a go suddenly all my 2.4 devices disconnected and will not reconnect even after resting and trying to reconnect a few of them.
I currently have 5 and 2.4 joined under the same name and password as thr xb7 supports that. I have tested splitting the networks and the 5.0 show up but 2.4 does not.
I have checked the web client and they both show that they are on. After an hour of troubleshooting and restarts the thing that worked was unplugging the modem, and the coaxle from the wall and the modem. That solution worked for 5 hours and I had to do it again, and 5 hours later, same issue.
Xfinity support only wants to restart my modem 20 times and try to sell me more services.
Has anybody had this issue? Clearly the 2.4 band is no having issues broadcasting. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

If it's a positive response the sub will be coming back. if it's a negative one, the subreddit might permanently go dark, all depends on their reaction. In the case of the latter we (the moderation team) will promptly migrate things over to whatever new site takes over.

Hi. Warframe has been one the greatest experiences I've played back in the day, close to its release on steam and 2250 hours invested. However, when it comes to videogames, it's natural for some people to eventually feel burned out, and that happened to me way back,during the patch after The Second Dream update, (I barely remember some Grinner queens or something).
Now, there's open world zones and a lot of stuff, and I honestly don't know what to do... My first instinct was to check my arsenal, go to the void and do a solo survival run with my favorite Warframe just to see if I liked what I saw. I really did, even though I still have the muscle memory for parkour and stuff, melee is waaay different than what I remember, and there's a ton of stuff that I don't even understand beyond mods. So, with this info in mind: is it too late for me to get back into the game? is it woth it to learn all the new stuff?
For reference, this is the state of my player profile when I left the game:
- Excalibur is my main and favorite Warframe
- I have all the frames up to the point where I left, I assume there might be a lot more.
- My mastery rank is 19, back then was kind of useless.
- There was a sport mini game where you score goals and play in teams, I didn't see that or maybe I missed it.
- The Tenno kid system seems to be reworked or something, I couldn't really understand it well.

Technically the poll still has 2 hours left but current numbers show that 530+ users are for going dark and 50 users are against. We will be joining the sitewide blackout on June 12.

I am trying to do my first semi-auto build and have decided on the EZ22.
I recognize I am a total newb and still have a lot to learn about the basic firearm mechanics...I will learn it all eventually, but I am graciously begging if someone can save me the 12 hours of fumbling around, trying to make sense of things and answer some basic questions.
Will any A.R. 15 lower work for the EZ 22, playing around lining them up in CAD. It seems like most of them don’t seem to fit? is there a standard recommended lower?
what are the exact parts I can print and what do I have to buy?
is there any good resource for full assembly instructions?
can someone explain like I’m five the whole parts list and assembly process?

So let me start with I absolutely love D4 and I think it is a near perfect ARPG and I plan on investing thousands of hours over many years. Just like I did D2 and D3.
So many people don't remember what D2 was ACTUALLY like back in 2002. I was just turning 20 and wow that game was crazy. D1 didn't have skill trees, gems, item classes, or even difficulties to choose from (in single player). It was HARD. The best we had was gamefaqs and forums to get some help and there was not a lot of help back then. This is also assuming you weren't paying by the hour to look stuff up online (which many of us still were) .
Now a days when you hear people tall about D2, they talk about it like they know every single mechanic in the game. They talk about it like everything was super intuitive, well designed, and easy to understand. This was not how it felt back in 2002. People were constantly hitting brick walls, unable to progress, frustrated, scammed, tricked, and annoyed. It wasn't until years later when people really started to understand the game and pass that knowledge that the general population started to fall back in love. LoD really helped too.
I personally see the same thing happening here. D4 has a lot of new, complicated, and unituitve systems. I see the potential but I don't blame others for not seeing. I don't blame people for being turned off by the difficulty and the lack of hand holding. I personally am a little surprised Blizzard hasn't done more to help casual players.
I think this game is going to be the new standard for ARPG the way D2 was. Also, like D2, I think we are a year away from people recognizing that. Just my opinion.

I am not from the UK and so I always imagined having a black tie wedding that starts at 5-6pm as it’s quite common where I’m from. However I have been told by a few people that it just isn’t the norm in the UK. Some have just looked at me with a confused face (mostly my British fiancé’s relatives). It’s made me feel quite concerned that nobody will have a good time if we put black tie as the dress code.
We are giving people a lot of relief that isn’t usually offered at British weddings - eg heavily discounted 5 star hotel, VIP guests receiving complimentary rooms, an open bar, two meals over the weekend in addition to the breakfast reception, etc… We are also paying a premium to have it near London so it’s easier for guests to get to by tube if they want to.
I also feel like, conversely, I’ve spent a lot of money for my friends’ weddings in the past, on things like expensive accommodation outside of London, flying to destination weddings, and I’ve even arranged my friend’s flowers for her wedding. So I feel sad that even though we’ve done everything with guest convenience in mind in a way that other friends haven’t, our British guests may still see me as being demanding for requesting black tie.
Am I silly to feel this way? How annoyed will British guests really be if we do black tie?

Hi everyone. I am a 41 year old guy with no college education and I need advice. I'll try to be as clear and short as I can be. This is not a sob story BTW. I just need to provide some background to explain my career limitations. Thanks.
In my 20s I worked my ass off. Cooking, newspapers while I worked at a wholesale optical lab full time. I loved working and I love money.
I always put off college because I was making so much money doing this that I felt it would be a waste. At 28 years old I started to take graphic design classes. I did 4 years in HS (yes my school had GD and metal shop and black and white photo and even electronics). I figured I loved designing as I did a few small design jobs on the side. I did a couple of booklets for a local hockey team and I did some business card stuff. Design logos etc..
Well by 30 years old I started to get sick. I dropped out of these classes and by 35 was diagnosed with cancer. 2 years of chemo and radiation. It got pretty bad and finally in 2018 I had a stem cell transplant from which I developed lung infections. My lungs are shot so I can't do physical work anymore. Even the hustle of cooking professionally is too much.
It took a few years to recover so I never got around to thinking about what I was going to do after. To be honest I wasn't sure there was going to be an after. Now Im ready to go but at 41, the idea of going in debt for schooling is crushing. I've still got a couple thousand left on my loan from way back when. When I got sick I had some help putting it on hold. Then the government put all loans on hold because of COVID.
I currently work at a leather shop but I can't last there. It's slightly hazardous to my health. My doctor recommended that I work from home. Ideally freelance but from home. This way I could avoid people during cold and flu season and there are certain things I am unusually susceptible to. Also if I am having a bad day respiratory wise, I am not beholden to a manager's wrath for needing an extra hour or two to get moving. That type of thing.
I am looking for any thoughts on this. What types of at home or freelance work do people recommend someone like me get into. I know it is difficult. Everyone wants to do it. My goal is to move away from Pennsylvania in the next five years and I would like a transferrable skill and hopefully a transferrable job. I've been taking some writing classes at a local community college with the idea of doing some freelance writing part time. Making a livable wage writing fulltime seems like a monumental challenge. I also took two years of journalism in school. Yes I know, my school also had a journalism class. What can I say, it was the 90s. I am by no means a good writer but I enjoy it. I am drawn toward article writing and interview/journalism writing. Investigation and research are what I am interested in.
I am rambling now.

Before all i'm not native english speaker so i may speak nonsense.I want this because i had a colony that was actualy fun for me and for some reason i got attached to it but i can't remember pawns names/look etc.I want to see it one more time for the nostalgia all i remember is:
It was like a perfect story run,the colony started with a based transhumanist all wooden prosthetics gigachad named Torsen felling off the sky naked in middle of nowhere.He had nearly no knowledge in anything (his skills was like mostly at 1-3) the only thing he had was his passion for knowledge (fast learner),his unending will to live (Iron Willed) and his iron like skin (tough) he got from his childhood (Unwanted survivor).
The first year was like a real survival it was more of a nature vs human than human vs humanTorsen nearly burned,frozen,clawed,beaked,scratched,bited and beated to death.(he always got his ass covered in the last minutes)
At the second year (yeah it realy took long he was realy,realy,realy slow) he finaly got the technology of self defense ( G U N S ).
At third year he got 3 people on colony (a nurse,builder-meele fighter guy,cook) now he can install better parts to himself also we did nurse leader of our faction cuz she was a good talker.
The fourth year didn't had any action we got 2 more people,(a shooting specialist and a farmer)then we killed of a few raiders.
At fifth year colony finaly became functional and properly defensable (say hello to 4 uranium turrets at front door of my Mountain base) we got invaded by 9 mechanoid thanks to Torsen's IED traps they got crushed (also goodybe one of uranium turrets you will be missed).
Aaaaaand i can't remember after that damn (* ￣︿￣)
