I played a good amount of the 2008 version and thought it was good back then. It's actually sad that the same quality in video games is often absent nowadays due to greed. Most games that come out now just copy off each other, there's no originality anymore. The games that came out this year that I've enjoyed the most have been remakes. Besides remakes there has been a few games I enjoyed playing throughout the years like Elden Ring, but as time goes on it seems companies are trying to milk gamers as much money as possible instead of making a solid product that's worth $70 with no strings attached. Now hopefully Dead Space remake sold well so we can get a remake of Dead Space 2.

I made a build end of last year targeting 1440p. 3060 ti, Ryzen 7 5700g, and 32gb ddr4 3200 mhz ram. I want this computer to continue performing at 1440p for several years (3-5) at high settings. If I can reach 144 fps that’s great, but I’m content at a stable 60. I’m interested in games like elden ring, starfield, baldurs gate 3, homeworld 3 to name some recent/upcoming ones. I only play single player.
Does it make sense to make any changes right now? For example, I was considering getting a 5800x3d as I realized after building the 5700g was a bit of a goofy choice with the cache and pcie 3, and I could still sell the 5700g for a decent price. But is what I have just going to accomplish what I’m trying do, making any change a bit of a waste? Would a change like that really delay the need for an upgrade in the future? Thanks for any help!

I always thought I was at least average, I have decent in the high classes... Yet I am still a fucking dumbass. I can't understand any game I play, and movie I watch, or any person I talk to. I was just trying to have a fun time with my friends on Elden ring, and I got called multiple variations of "worthless" and "stupid" at least 50 times. This is why I enjoy having no friends, I don't have to burden them with my stupidity. I want to die. I plan to kill myself after high school, the thought of it is just pure happiness to me now, it is peaceful.

I’m on my second play through of elden ring right now and I was doing all of the side quests without paying much attention to the dialogue (because I wanted to get all the items). Until…I watched a lore video about dung eater and realized that we defile his corpse the way he defiles other people’s on the last step of his quest. Did I just unwillingly eat dung eaters ass and possibly his pee pee? In the lore video it’s heavily speculated that he eats people’s assses and pee pee’s. I die laughing everytime I think of the trauma I potentially just put my character through lol. does anyone have an answer to this dilemma I’m in right now lol

What will you be doing with this PC? Be as specific as possible, and include specific games or programs you will be using.

Primarily gaming from all gens, from emulating old ps1 games through to modern releases PC and RPCS3.
Specifically looking forward to Dragons Dogma 2 coming out at some point (using RE engine so I've been roughly looking at RE4 as a guide there with some wiggle room for DD2 being open world), but also Elden Ring which I can't run on my current rig, and Forgotten City which I barely meet the requirements for. As well as heavily modded minecraft with shaders.
I'm aiming for 1440p 60fps, as I mostly game on a TV in the same room connected via HDMI. The TV is 4k capable, but I don't really have the budget to make that my primary goal and I'm happy with 1440p. I also don't mind dropping back down to 1080p if things get too intensive, I'm really not fussy.
Side uses would be photoshop, though not heavily, and I would like to get back into 3d modelling though I don't really touch the rendering side of things so I'm not too worried about AMD/Nvidia differences there. Minor use of Stable Diffusion is the last point which I know AMD suffers on with windows, but I could install linux if I really wanted or just run the limited install of it. It's still going to be better than my current 1060 6gb.
I also don't care about raytracing

What is your maximum budget before rebates/shipping/taxes?

I had originally planned on just getting a new case and moving my parts so some parts I would have needed for that are already brought, as well as peripherals I've already decided on, so while I have a total budget of $3000 AUD, the functional budget left is:
~$2100 AUD for internal parts + monitors

When do you plan on building/buying the PC? Note: beyond a week or two from today means any build you receive will be out of date when you want to buy.

Within the month, but pretty much as soon as I can get it finalized and am comfortable with it all and stop stressing about this or that thing

Everything except an OS and perhaps PSU
Mouse/Keyboard/Monitors all have various issues so I'm just going to do a complete refresh at once.

I do plan on reusing my EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G2 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply that I brought in 2016 as it's still within its warranty period of 10 years, unless it's recommended not to.

Highly unlikely as I think that would just make me anxious more than anything

Motherboard - At least 2 M.2 slots that won't throttle the PCI-E lanes of the GPU or other slots if both filled. At least 5 USB-A slots on the back, a USB-C for the case front
Other then that not particularly. I would prefer to stick with intel, sorry AMD, just because it should handle the single core stuff that little better

What type of network connectivity do you need? (Wired and/or WiFi) If WiFi is needed and you would like to find the fastest match for your wireless router, please list any specifics.

Ethernet and Bluetooth 5. I'm sick of dealing with bluetooth dongles

Case already brought, yes I'm one of the many people on the Fractal North train. I have a lot of wood and black furniture already haha.

Extra info or particulars:

As I already have a rough build so along with a general review and cost cutting if possible, these are mostly my main points of concern:

• CPU Cooler - Noctua is expensive and doesn't seem to cool that much more than say a AK620 or Dark Rock Pro 4. But I would like some consideration for noise levels, quieter is better, and I also hear the be quiet mounting systems are painful to use. Or I could drop down to a Noctua U12S if it would be enough given I have no plans of overclocking for now? Really have no idea here and I've looked at so many reviews trying to figure out which is the best temp/noise that my head is spinning (note: The Assassin line of coolers is not available in Aus). And I am quite noise sensitive which is why I went the expensive noctua case fans instead of arctic, didn't want to even take the risk of the whine people report from arctic fans.
  
• Motherboard - Seems like overkill, but it's on a huge sale, looks nice, MSI's problem is the least of the three major ones lately, and unless there's something better and cheaper out there it seems fine? (Avoiding ASUS, and Gigabyte have an alarming amount of refurbished boards on aus sites at the moment)
  
• EVGA PSU being reused from my current build, 7 years old within its 10 year warranty (though I don't know where the invoice for it is), is a problem or would it be better off to just bite the bullet and get a brand new one?
  
• GPU - The one I picked is a 2 fan MSI 6750xt for $619 (asus and gigabyte models of the 6750xt have reports of coil whine, which is why I went this), but I also have the option for a 3 fan Gigabyte 6700xt for $529, and I'm not sure if that's a good trade off for cost/performance as well as quiet operation, as they seem very close in performance but not sure about noise values. Seems like it would be but just doubting myself

So I recently decided to play elden ring again after months of not playing. My laptop isnt anything crazy but I used to get atleast 45fps at 1080p low settings. After trying to play today and restarting multiple times even at the lowest possible settings im getting like 2fps and the game will crash telling me "unstable fps".
anyone got any ideas for fixes?

Gaming pc, one to play minecraft at max render distance. 7 days to Die, Monster Hunter World, Dark Souls 3, Elden Ring some day. I'm not worried about maxing resolution on these games per say, but I want to comfortable run them at 60fps, but also to in theory have chrome open in the background and listen to videos.

1500-1700$ cdn without shipping and taxes, closer to 2000$ if you factor those in I guess. It doesn't have to reach that mind you. If it's possible for me to save money and get what I desire I'm more than comfortable with that number being less.

So I guess what I need is:
Tower(I'd like something a bit roomy or mid sized rather than small),
Hard drive to run the OS (SSD preferably)
CPU (no preference)
motherboard (no preference)
ram (preferably 32gb)
graphics card (idk anything about these)
power supply (no preference)
cooling unit(preferably fans).
Don't know if I'm missing anything else. As I'm relatively noobish to building PCs.

I live in Canada, Saskatchewan, rural parts. So I'll be purchasing every part online.

I'll be using a logitech MK120 wired mouse/keyboard combo.
I'll be reusing Turtle Beach Recon 70 wired gaming headset.
I'll be reusing my current monitor. An ASUS VP247QG. a 23.6 inch monitor.
And I'll be reusing a couple seagate harddrives for storage of games.

Yes I would prefer an SSD, doesn't need to be large. If it were 500gb or less that'd be fine. 32gb of ram is what I assume is normal for gaming while having a web browser open. I don't know the value of OpenCL support. if it's needed to play the games I've mentioned then sure. I'd like for it to be fan cooled I guess.

I'm assuming a mid-tower or full tower is what I want. I just don't want to feel cramped and lacking room when putting it all together. A window sounds nice but isn't needed, preferably nothing flashy.
