I recently received a chaos warhound scout titan as a gift for my birthday. I am familiar with resin models as I have bought multiple ForgeWorld models in the past but the titan is by far the largest.
The idea of pinning the model terrifies me and seems like a risk incase i messed it up, how important is it to pin. Because my idea is to just build the model in a normal basic pose, no angles or anything. Just stood still on 2 legs and stuck in a stable manner on a base.

I had a lap in 2021 and never had an ultrasound since then. My hospital sucks and endo care is lacking. But I can't go anywhere else unfortunately. I live in Europe, I'm 38 and only have 2 hospitals nearby that have endo specialsts. So in my hospital there's currently only 1 specialst available cause the other one is burned out.
I have stage 4 endo and adeno with kissing ovaries, uterus/bowel adhesions, bowel is in a weird loop because of this and my ovaries are also stuck to my uterus. My ovaries are weak and all they've done in 2021 was drain the right ovary and excising the left one. So it was a matter of time before the right one would return. They didn't do anything else, they didn't handle the adhesions because I was told to try ivf, and then get another surgery if necessary. I couldn't try ivf cause I also suffer other illnesses and couldn't do it.
They kinda knew I would prob need a hysterectomy and a bowel resection in the future so it was our plan to do only the necesarry to keep fertility and minimal damage. Colorectal surgeon attended and said that it's safe and bowel looks ok. Bowel is in a weird loop but looked ok. There was no sign of deep endo in my bowel. Just a nodule on top of it. Idk why they didn't care to remove that nodule. I guess because I wasn't in any bowel pain back in 2021.
Since a week ago I'm in daily ovary pain and the last few days it's very sharp stabbing pain. Especially when sitting down. It feels like it's being pulled when I sit. And it radiated to the inside of my leg and also my calf. At night in bed it's the worst cause I can't sleep on my side because of it. My hip and leg, and buttock also started to hurt and feels like sciatica. I've had that before 2021 as well. That's kinda what led me to endo diagnosis.
Hospital told me waiting lists to see the doctor are huge and I tried going to another hospital. But waiting lists are 120 days there as well. That's just not ok. So Im sticking to my current hospital.
I wonder when it's time to go to urgent care? I can't wait for an appointment for 4 months with this pain. They already see me as this demanding patient cause I speak my mind. I've seen multiple hospitals in 2021 because I doubted their expertise. And they felt so offended by it back then. I ended up getting surgery with them after all, cause it was closeby. The hospital that doesn't really seem to care about their endo patients cause time is money here. It is really bad. The gyno is so stressed out. We don't have specialsts who just handle endo here. They're all gynos with endo interest. I absolutely hope that will change in the near future. (this popular TV programme is giving endo attention today so I'm Def going to watch it tonight)
The other hospitals I've gone to had the exact same horrible endo care as my current one. And it was close by. None of them ever listened to my pain, none of them listened when I told them hormones are making me sick and I have other stuff going on. It feels like a full time job to handle the interactions, side effects and other chronic illnesses I have. And I have a few.
I suspect MCAS and/or Lupus. Saw a rheum last year who did ANA. No auto immune disease, according to her. But I'm getting worse by the day. Gp isn't helping anymore. She said she's done whatever she could and I've seen all the specialsts. I haven't. But oh well.
Anyway.. When do you visit urgent care? When is it legit? My hospital has a gynochology urgent care number, mainly used for pregnant women, offcourse. And I've rang them several times in the past. But they looked at me like my pain is no big deal. And had me wait 3 hours. Turned out the endometrioma was leaking and they thought that was normal. I was losing tiny bits of dark old blood everyday. And there's a lot of discharge again. But no old blood. They were convinced it wouldn't rupture cause it was too adhered and couldn't move.
I doubt myself heavily. Tell myself it's no big deal. But my periods are changing. The last 3 times I've had a cycle of 41 days. Normally they're 26 days. I told them this but still the same response. They have waiting lists and I have to wait, it's not urgent. I'm in a lot of pain, 24/7. That right ovary is stabbing heavily and I feel like I'm about to get a period every day. It's out of the ordinary for me. I can still walk, but my hip and leg are so painful. Pins and needles, sciatica is back.
I just don't want to be a burden to them. They will prob throw pills at me and they know I don't want to take them. I have developed nsaids allergies and hives. And I can't. I can't take codeïne because of interaction with other meds I take. And I don't want to try oxycodone. So stuck with Tylenol. And when I tell them all of this they see it as a sign that I'm not in a lot of pain because I refuse to take them. 'nsaids have given me stomach ulcers and I took so many of them that I've damaged my stomach. And I break out in severe hives when I take them now.
It's like they don't hear this. Cause ppl in pain take all they can get. Offcourse, I get that. I can still get up, get a shower but. I can't work. I can't run my household. I can't go out because standing up for long amounts of time brings me to tears. When is the right time to stop telling myself I should suck it up? I feel like such a burden. I developed medical PTD because I've been gaslighted for 20 years. I knew I had endo and was literally made out to be crazy. And even going near a hospital gives me great anxiety.
I feel Ive had a break from endo for nearly 2 years. It was still excruciatingly painful. But it wasn't daily anymore. It is now.
Do you guys feel like a burden when it comes down to hospital visits? I see those sarcastic faces of my doctor in my dreams. I've had therapy for this. In hospital, so that was very stressful. And this gave me more ptsd, cause the last thing the therapist told me was: I don't know what to do with you, I cannot help you. And she sighed. Whenever I told her about endo pain she kept saying she doesn't know anything about the disease. On my last visit I told her.. Do you tell someone who's battling cancer to just live a happy life and don't worry too much? And I walked out.
I feel pretty alone.

First time gardening in years.
Built a 36" deep Planter (no yard).
Used about 10% chicken manure mixed into miracle grow potting soil based off of Google advice.
Two of four roses started wilting 5 days ago.
I waited-- just transplant shock? Didn't want to make things worse.
Finally dug them up just now and discovered that the chicken manure (sold as dry granules, smelled and looked like cat litter really) was NOT pre-composted, and was actively in an exothermic reaction.
It's 55F outside right now. 12" down the soil was probably 80F, 16" down it was hitting 100F (warm shower), 20" down there were steaming pockets uncomfortable to stick my hand in for more than a few seconds!
I dug out the deep hot layers in long furrows and let the planter cool off, replacing some of the composting soil with regular dirt.
The roses were planted 10" deep, so they got warm but not 120F hot. I dug up the two doing badly, soaked the roots for 20 minutes to wash off any manure, and replanted in normal soil.
What are the chances they'll come back?
Well, more to the point, how long until I know the two affected roses might bounce back or definitely got cooked?

I'm two weeks into running my first gaming pc, or rather my MSI Katana RTX 3060 GDDR6 gayming laptop (w/ Intel i7-12700 and 16GB DDR4 RAM to boot). Laptop peasantry aside, playing GTA IV on PC has been high on my list since forever, and so I've spent the last week punching on with (and occasionally asphyxiating on) the game's somehow simultaneously undeovercooked spaghetti code.
My Goal: Simply to run the bastard at 1080p at high settings on the laptop's 144hz IPS screen.
Results: Ditched the 1080p POS screen like it was hot, cranked up the dial on my 4K monitor (that my Series X Xbox, AKA SeXbox, was docked into) and got this thing somehow running at a mostly stable 4K 60fps.
Yeah, I wasn't expecting that either.
So anyways, I downloaded the Steam version of GTA IV EFLC and quickly found out about the GTA IV Downgrader. Through trial and error I found patch 1.0.7.0 to be the most stable build to play the game mostly vanilla on my gayming spec setup.
[Note: I've heard 1.0.4.0 works better with ENBs, but for now I'm more interested in playing the game in the original art style. I Might give IceEnhancer 3.0 a go in future to familiarise, and thus, prepare myself for IceEnhancer 4's official release. The rest of this post is 1.0.7.0 related, predominantly for Nvidia bandwagoners. (Sorry team AMD, luv u.)]
Here's the installation process I went through:
1) Download a copy of GTA 4. (Steam version in my case.)
1a) Make sure the game is in neither the Program Files (x86) folder, nor the Program Files folder. (I moved Steam entirely out of said file to prevent future headaches.)
1b) Download and run the latest version of the GTA IV Downgrader.
2) In the downgrader:
2a) Follow the downgrader's step-by-step guide.
2b) Select 1.0.7.0 and add the Zolika patch, Fusion Fix, ZmenuIV, and ColAccel.
2c) (Consider avoiding the Simple Traffic Loader since this Freddy Fangdangled me to no end with the amout of pop-in it was secretly inducing into my rainbow what-do-you-mean-my-keyboard-is-not-rbg!? gayming experience.)
2d) Make sure to tick the Commandline checkbox before running the downgrader.
3) After following the downgrader instructions, get DXVK v2.1 and drag/drop the 32 bit files d3d9.dll and dxgui.dll in the GTA IV directory. Both the 64 and 32 bit .dll files work, but 64 causes stuttering, whereas 32 seems to limit the in-game resolution to just above 800x600p 30fps.
(For reference that's enough pixels to simulate remnants of a potato chip in a voxel-based off-brand UNICEF charity feed-em-up simulator. Somebody's aught to make such a game, time will tell.)
4) Argh, so yeah, as for the um, workaround for the 32 bit files, you need to edit your commandline text document (commandline.txt can be found in GTAIV directory folder) by entering/saving the following:
-novblank
-nomemrestrict
-norestrictions
-framelimit 60
-refreshrate
-width XXXX
-height XXXX
[Note: Make the XXXX's suit your preferred resolution, 4K example; -width 3840 -height 2160]
5) Now that that's done go into your Nvidia Control Panel.
5a) Manage 3D settings > Program Settings > "Select Program to Customise" > gtaiv.exe
5b) gtaiv.exe program specific settings:

• Vsync: Enable
  
• G-Sync: Enable (only if your monitor supports G-Sync. Consider disabling if troubleshooting)
  
• Max Frame Rate: 60fps
  
• Background Max Frame Rate: 60fps
  
• Low Latency: Ultra
  
• Power Management (set this to your personal preference)
  
• Texture Filtering: either High or High Quality (optional)
  
• Threaded Optimisation: Off (you can try turning this on w/ DXVK, but I kept running into thermal throttling issues so disabled this option)
  

[Consideration: It might be wise to set all the remaining gtaiv.exe program specific settings so that all the Global Settings are set to their recommend settings (i.e. changing the Antialiasing - Mode from "Use global setting (application-controlled)" to simply the "application-controlled" setting. This, as far as I know, will prevent the actual Globing Settings tab messing with GTA IV specifically.]
6) Open the Zolika config file and edit/save the following changes:
FastLoading=1
NewMemorySystem=1
NoLoadingSleep=1
[Note: These three settings alone should dramatically reduce load times, especially on an internal SSD.]
[Optional Extra: Read through and edit the extensive list of Zolika options all you want, but be careful to only test things relatively one-at-a-time from here on in. (I managed to triggered the game's anti-cheat by playing around with these options too much in quick succession, which required an uninstall/reinstall to fix.)]
7) Boot up the game w/ PlayGTAIV
7a) Turn off the vsync in the game's graphics settings.
7b) Customise the graphics settings, but be prepared to drop some of the Distance/Density sliders to 50 even if you are aiming to run everything in Very High settings.
8) Refer to forums for any further troubleshooting. (I'm not very experienced in this, so it's hard for me to provide troubleshooting advice given that this is the first time I've attempted to mod a game.)
Conclusion: So that summaries a week of painstaking trial-and-error. I was truly expecting to be thermal throttling my CPU at 4K 60fps, but to my surprise I was able to pull this off without even resorting to undervolting my gayming laptop.
My current in-game settings:

16:9 Aspect Ratio (Not Auto-Detect)
Textures = not exactly 4K2K Allaga quality (High)

Finally: Hopefully the technical aspect of this this write up helps someone out in the future. It sure is challenging getting this thing to run right, but it is doable.

I keep maintaining my feelings even though she is currently single... She probably had plenty of options for her better than me... I'm preparing to move on... Then we were texting about work related... Before she ended the conversation she texted " okay my love, kiss emoji " ... I wasn't sure if she was just being friendly... I'm kinda unsure, I have given her a laugh reaction...
It is so difficult for me to move on even if i tried to avoid her... She stared at me if I didn't look at her... Acting all cute to me all the time despite a room full of people... She gave me hot and cold... Last time while working on her project, she said " i looks ugly please make it pretty for my crush to see... Hi Ladies, this is a short story by me which will help bring some joy to your day.
Mangalore Buns
It was a beautiful day in September, the sun was gentle, the trees were in between the hues of orange and brown and the afternoons were perfect for a nap. Dharma, however, was in the middle of chaos.
He was waiting for the parents of his students to start arriving. It was the dreaded parent-teacher meeting before the biggest festivities of the year began.
Dharma worked in a prominent convent school in Bangalore in South India. He was 26 and taught Chemistry to high school students from grades 8-10. This was his first job and he had been here for a little over a year and was glad that he didn’t have to work for a lesser-known school. He enjoyed the benefits he received like free transportation and low-cost meals at the canteen.
He was a lanky, tall man with dusky skin and delicate almond eyes. He wore grey almost every day to work and liked to keep to himself most of the time. His age almost always worked against him in his work as the senior teachers disregarded his ideas and the head of the department of Chemistry asked him to temper his work constantly.
However, Dharma liked his students. They were his source of entertainment and pride. The boys always had interesting PlayStation games to talk about and the girls loved discussing the latest Netflix shows with him. When any of them exhibited even a remote interest in Chemistry he felt his job had a purpose.
The parents waited in line as Dharma addressed each of them patiently. There were the usual parents he had always encountered. The type who was perpetually unhappy despite their child being in the top 10% of the class, the type who wanted their child to make friends with the top 10% and not hang out with average Joes, the type who was embarrassed by their child’s academic performance and did not want to be at the meeting and lastly, the ones whose solution to everything was tuition classes for all the subjects that matter.
Three hours and several cups of coffee later, he offered a tissue to the last student who was pretending to cry as her mother bombarded her with questions. “She will pass all the subjects in the finals sir, I guarantee it. This girl is too focused on enjoying life” the mother told Dharma as she was leaving. “Don’t worry madam, Anju is going to do well” he responded mentally noting Anju’s mother’s definition of enjoying life was her daughter’s gift for music and the arts.
And then there was one. Yogi was the only student left in class waiting for his mother patiently. She came rushing into the door just as Dharma thought she wouldn’t show.
Ambika Bhat wore a lavender shirt that was dotted with yellow sunflowers with small gold hoop earrings. She was a chubby woman with curly hair and a very expressive face. She had a vibrant personality and a voice that demanded attention.
She apologised profusely for being late. Dharma couldn’t help but notice how lavender was such a beautiful colour on her, he hated lavender in general. He only liked greys and blues. “Did she do something different to her hair?” he wondered as she scanned Yogi’s grades.
“I have already gone through his grades and overall performance online, I came for a discussion” she informed him. They discussed Yogi’s weaknesses in depth when Dharma offered to take tuition classes exclusively for Yogi. “That won’t be necessary Dharma, I have almost finalised a private tutor who can cover Math and Science, he has a Master’s degree from a really good university and teaches at an international school” she declined politely. “This has nothing to do with the past, he is a bright student and because we’ve spent so much time together, I know how to guide him” he protested. “I didn’t question your intentions, I just think this is the best option for him,” she said. “Private tutors are expensive,” he said noticing that she was tapping her foot nervously against the table. “I’ll manage, thanks for your help. Let’s review his performance after the mock exam before the finals” she said ending the conversation. She left the classroom as swiftly as she had entered it, her perfume lingered which took Dharma back in time.
It was a hot day in June when he met Ambika for the first time. It was his first month on the job at the school. She wanted to meet Yogi’s math and science teachers. She was surprised to find a young twenty-something Chemistry teacher talking to her passionately about different academic opportunities for her son.
Within a month, Ambika had Dharma conducting private tuition classes for Yogi at her residence. He understood how Yogi learnt and had a reassuring presence. They met at her place twice a week for two hours. Ambika always ensured Dharma received hot chai and biscuits, she would never let a guest leave her house without them trying her ginger chai. She took it personally when Dharma told her that he was a coffee person and didn’t like her tea.
Dharma, being an introvert, did not attempt to start a conversation with Ambika. He preferred to keep it professional and discuss only school-related issues. Ambika, a busy single working mother, had no time to spare to talk to Dharma after class.

Bangalore was notorious for its unpredictable weather, it would rain all day at the drop of a hat. Dharma was just about finished with his session with Yogi when the beginning of the rainfall that could drown you began.
There was nothing much he could do except browse through articles on his phone. Ambika was exhausted after a long day of training for the new employees, she was a Human Resources manager at Amazon.
After what seemed like an hour, Ambika realised that the rain would continue for the next few hours and Dharma could not travel on his bike in such heavy rainfall nor would he be able to get a cab. She decided it would be rude if she didn’t offer him dinner.
Sitting across the dining table, sharing a meal of Sambhar and rice, for the first time in 2 months, they had a conversation about themselves. Yogi was in the living room watching Japanese anime. They chatted about their careers, their favourite restaurants in the city and their families. Ambika’s parents were living in Udupi and visited her often, especially after her difficult divorce to lend support and help take care of Yogi. Dharma lived with his mother, he had lost his father a few years ago.
It was easy to talk to Ambika. She was so talkative and cheerful that the conversation flowed easily for Dharma. They both liked Italian food and she disliked the same senior teachers in school that he did. He was almost disappointed when it was time to leave. He felt like he had a long conversation with his best friend from college.
It rained that entire week and Dharma was stuck at Ambika’s house for many hours after class. They enjoyed long conversations over a bowl of noodles, fried rice and khichdi depending on the day. Ambika shared stories of the funny candidates she had interviewed and the twisted corporate politics that Dharma was not privy to.
When the bout of bad weather had ended, Dharma found himself thinking about Ambika. He was attracted to her in a way he knew was wrong. She was a mother in her early 40s, focused on giving her son the best education she could afford. He could find someone in the same phase of life as him he told himself.
It was Yogi’s 14th birthday and Dharma was invited for a private lunch Ambika had organised with Yogi’s close friends and some of her friends. It was in a gaming arena where a bunch of teenagers were too distracted with virtual reality to care about the adults. Ambika looked radiant in a yellow maxi dress with her curly hair tied up in a bun. He could smell her rose-scented perfume standing next to her.
Ambika’s friends were as extroverted as she was. They tried to include him in the conversation, they shared a delicious lunch and he discovered through them that she used to be a theatre artist for many years as a passion until she had Yogi. ‘That explains her expressive face’ he thought.
When he chanced upon an opportunity to find the famous city theatre RangaShankara hosting folk music he felt no harm in asking Ambika if she wanted to watch it. “I haven’t watched a live performance in years, it’s sweet of you to remember I used to be a theatre artist,” she told him smiling at the thought of being near the stage again.
Several months passed, and Yogi was busy with school, friends and his anime oblivious that his mother had been having evening dates at the ‘darshini’ (a local cuisine restaurant) with his favourite teacher. They often met after her work to grab a bite, she always picked Mangalore buns, a sweet fried bread made from flour and ripe bananas served with coconut chutney. A childhood favourite that originated from her birthplace. “Only this place makes it fresh,” she told Dharma each time.
Yogi’s mother who normally stayed away from romance of any kind after his father had broken her heart was now looking at love differently. She looked at love as companionship, a friendship that she could rely on rather than an all-consuming emotion that could blow up in flames if ignited.
“You are interested in a 40-year-old single woman whose son you teach?! Have you lost your mind?” Dharma’s mother asked him looking stunned at the news her son had just given her. “You can find an equal match, you are out of her league, why would you want to shoulder this kind of responsibility at 26?!” she continued getting visibly angrier at his nonchalant attitude. “So, pretending to like a spouse for 30 years of marriage like you did was not a burden but choosing to like someone who just happens to be unconventional is a burden?” he asked her. “Everyone has different burdens they need to carry in their lives, I could not choose mine, it was forced upon me, but you get to choose and this is not an option,” she told him leaving the room to ensure Dharma did not attempt to convince her.
It took many dinners at her house together after Yogi’s class, theatre performances and darshini dates for Ambika to arrive at the realisation that she was unconsciously building a relationship that could not be defined . He was an intelligent, thoughtful, reliable man whose presence comforted her but he was also very young. Her family and friends would disapprove, they lived in a relatively conservative society. She would be risking her son’s future but most importantly she couldn’t afford to have another broken heart in one lifetime.
It was a hot summer’s day in April, the beginning of summer vacation at the school. 9 months after they had first met. The chutney was sour just like Ambika’s mood. Dharma arrived not wearing grey for the first time hoping she would notice. Ambika had been distant to him for a few weeks, he did not expect this to be the usual chat over filter coffee. He knew that both of them were dealing with conflicting emotions.
“It would be best if we stopped meeting, I will find another tutor for Yogi, I have the entire summer break to look for one,” she said looking sadly into his eyes. “Was it something I did or said?” he asked taken aback by her statement. “None, I took our friendship too far, it’s a relationship we do not need,” she told him looking down at her plate. “Are you worried about what Yogi or your family will think?” he asked her. “I don’t think there’s any point in us spending any more time together. We can focus our efforts elsewhere….sorry but this colour doesn’t suit you” she said trying to finish the last bit of sour chutney. “You don’t have to be an HR all the time, you sound like you are firing someone, we were more than colleagues” he responded to her impersonal way of ending their relationship. There was nothing more to say since they both knew the cards were stacked against them.
He processed his grief quietly, informing his mother that it was over. His mother was relieved and performed a puja to thank God for helping her son choose the right path. Dharma steered clear of eating at any darshini and made his conversation with Yogi only about class despite Yogi’s attempts to digress. Dharma never saw Ambika again until the Parent Teacher Meeting in September.
On some days, Ambika almost sent Dharma messages when she wanted to talk about the bad phase at work she was going through. She accidentally did one day and he responded “we can always share updates, we are still friends”. Dharma found weekends particularly hard to deal with. His friends didn’t possess the type of excitement and passion for life Ambika had when they went out.
In the last 3 years of Yogi’s school life, they saw each other at Parent Teacher Meetings. The conversations were brief, Yogi had become a good student in his subject so he had no complaints. The big day had finally arrived, it was the school graduation day.

I did some reading into ETFs. I read the wiki, the sticky, and all the associated things. I now know how to get ETFs, which ones, and where (Bolero, 88%IWDA and 12% EMIB, because it is the same as VWRE, but with lower costs on Bolero). I dont want Degiro, because I do not want to look after tax regulation and notifying the national bank. And somehow, KBC gives me the more warm-fuzzies.
However, when discussing ETFs with a friend, he asked a valid question: "where is the catch, why don't we all do it". The best I could come up with is: no capital protection, ie, capital is exposed to the market (albeit a large portion of the world market). Also currency exposure for the stocks traded in USD. So the money is not "directly" available (meaning, when the market is down compared to the buy date, one could loose capital when selling).
In your opinion, where is the catch? Are ETFs the new hotness where all the "cool kids" invest into as we have seen in the crypto era around 2018? Because somehow, I keep hearing more about ETFs lately, but that might also be because I go looking for said information. However, I feel that I do miss some significant catch here...
I want to invest a substantial amount (for me) into some instrument which 1) protects me from inflation and 2) gives compound interests for later. I want to do a lump sum of around 25K now, and then DCA monthly around 500€. The goal is a retirement fund in around 30 years (I'm 38 right now, so that is at around my retirement age). I'll be keeping an emergency fund of around 25K as well on a savings account.
Finally, I do tend to worrying a lot (generalised anxiety disorder here). What happens in recessions, or - god forbid - war times? Is placing money in ETFs (or any other investment instrument for that matter) a bad choice compared to a savings account, or even a sock under the bed? My mom just spent 6 months renovating and decorating her first Airbnb house with the most luxury of everything. Her VERY FIRST GUEST had a massive party even though she was explicitly told before booking that a party was not allowed and only the 4 registered guests were allowed on the property. She left the house steaming saying she would see my mom in court and would draft a very long and negative review.
My mom put her absolute heart and soul into this house that was meant to set her and my step-dad up for retirement. I cannot believe that this happened on her VERY FIRST BOOKING. My heart is beyond broken for her and now she isn't sure what's going to happen with her brand new and only listing that she spent well over half million dollars purchasing, renovating and decorating.
