2023.03.28 13:56 Transcender49 Useful programming books. Including beginners' friendly books to pro level books
Hello, there was a post on this sub -
which i won't link to it because it is not necessary for the context- in which i replied to a comment about a book, and i got asked about this book, then i thought why not make a post about the collection i have. And here i am :)
Important note before you proceed: I cannot
personally guarantee the quality of these books. I collected these books through good programmers in my community. And when I say good, I mean they have +10 years of experience and are reputable in the field. You can check the reviews and rating of each book before you pick it up. Also, take note that some of these books are specific to a certain domain
e.g. - Agile Principles, Patterns, and Practices in C# by Robert C. Martin and Micah Martin.
So without further ado here is the list:
- Managing Agile Projects by Sanjiv Augustine
- Agile Estimating and Planning by Mike Cohn
- Working Effectively with Legacy Code by Michael C. Feathers
- Agile JavaTM: Crafting Code with Test-Driven Development by Jeff Langr
- Agile Principles, Patterns, and Practices in C# by Robert C. Martin and Micah Martin
- Agile Software Development: Principles, Patterns, and Practices by Robert C. Martin
- UML For JavaTM Programmers by Robert C. Martin
- Fit for Developing Software: Framework for Integrated Tests by Rick Mugridge and Ward Cunningham
- Agile Software Development with SCRUM by Ken Schwaber and Mike Beedle
- Design Patterns: Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software by Erich Gamma, Richard Helm, Ralph Johnson, and John Vlissides
- Extreme Software Engineering: A Hands on Approach by Daniel H. Steinberg and Daniel W. Palmer
- Art of Unit Testing by Roy Osherove
- Grokking Algorithms by Aditya Bhargava (basic knowledge of the syntax of any language to practice the algorithms)
- Clean Code by Robert C. Martin
- Head First Object-Oriented Programming by Brett D. McLaughlin, Gary Pollice, and David West (Basic level knowledge about OOP)
- Head First Design Patterns by Elisabeth Freeman and Eric Freeman
- Domain-Driven Design: Tackling Complexity in the Heart of Software by Eric Evans
- Implementing Domain-Driven Design by Vaughn Vernon
- Patterns of Enterprise Application Architecture by Martin Fowler
- Refactoring: Improving the Design of Existing Code by Martin Fowler
- T-SQL Fundamentals by Itzik Ben-Gan
- Designing Data-Intensive Applications by Martin Kleppmann
- Professional SQL Server 2016 Internals and Troubleshooting by Christian Bolton, Justin Langford, and Glenn Berry
- NoSQL Distilled by Martin Fowler and Pramod J. Sadalage
- Reactive Design Patterns by Roland Kuhn, Brian Hanafee, and Jamie Allen
- Parallel Programming (book on chosen technology)
Another important note: I mentioned in the title that some of the books in the list are beginner's friendly and some are meant for more advanced people. I only read 2 of them -as I'm still learning- and made a comment about the level of knowledge required before you pick up the book. If any of you guys read any of these book and is willing to DM me about the difficulty of a book, I would happy to receive the feedback and edit the list.

2023.03.28 13:56 kp-- Off my chest: I am the one that's sabotaging Ella's Hilichurlian research
Dear Journal,
Don't get me wrong. It started as a harmless prank, after Ella got me into her little expeditions with her. At first, it was a novelty, I even got to pick up a few cues, and I especially enjoyed how childish it all sounded - it was perfect for taking my mind off my current travels. Things can get messy, dark, and highly depressing in the world of Teyvat, so getting to finally not beat up a hillichurl is a change of pace, in my books.
Until she started overstaying her welcome. She started getting bolder, and started writing poems for those sillychurls. I, of course, naturally started getting annoyed. Every week there were at least 2 commissions posted by her. Like come on, dude, at one point, you gotta just think you need to work on other things, maybe get a hobby or something, right? Kid, you're like 12, go and play with Timmie's pigeons for crying out loud. Or tease him about his dad for all I care. But noooo, the lil brat KEEPS coming back with the same poetry notes, and expects ME to digest her dense as Ei's charcoal delicary... notes so I can serenade those dum dums? Dang it, I just zone out during dialogues as is, mentally skipping what anybody's saying, and proceed to reply as annoyed as I possibly can using my most witty responses, but NO this kid expects me to READ? Ugh, the audacity of these people!
Anyway, like I said, at first, it started as a light-hearted jest, I purposefully said "Ya yika!" followed by a rather tasteful remark on the masked menace's family. Although I'm pretty sure it didn't understand my jabs, it was still funny to see it riled up, and start up a brawl. Then, it started becoming more than just a prank: I started saying any combination of really offensive stuff, JUST so I could piss them off. I still make sure to recite the poem correctly once in a while, just so it doesn't raise any suspicions. However, I make it a point to actively jeopardize her attempts at communicating with the hillichurls, JUST so she keeps self-doubting herself, and is filled with imposter syndrome.
I don't from whence exactly, but I slowly started savoring this little endeavor of mine, so much so that I actually look forward to our little excursions. Whenever I see her commissions, I always think to myself,"Oh goody, how can I mess it up this time?!". Suffice to say, I'll keep doing it, because Adventure Guild is a group of Gophers, annoying, to say the least. Gopher preserving flowers, Gopher escorting balloons, Gopher pandering terrified Magar, Gopher jumping on shrooms: Can you believe this shit? Like, I'm tired af, yo!
Thus, I'm jeopardizing her life's mission, crushing her hopes and dreams of being an expert, making her second guess herself EVERY.STEP.OF.THE.WAY. And I enjoy.EVERY.SECOND.OF.IT. Her commissions are what make me determined to get back at adventure's guild's mundane commissions, and the lazy sacks of flesh, that are the people of Teyvat.

2023.03.28 13:55 BruteSilverback Insider Protocol: A Promising Future for Cryptocurrency Anonymity
The world of finance is constantly evolving, and with the advent of cryptocurrencies, there has been an explosion in the creation of new financial products and services.
However, one challenge that has persisted is the issue of privacy and anonymity. In recent years, there has been a growing concern about the loss of privacy as governments and corporations increasingly monitor financial transactions.
To address this issue, a team of anonymous programmers, and quants has created an anonymous ecosystem built on an improved version of MimbleWimble technology.
This new ecosystem promises to provide a high level of privacy and anonymity to all its users. What is MimbleWimble technology? MimbleWimble (MW) is a type of blockchain that uses a new way to store transactions. There are no reusable addresses on the MW blockchain, which means that transaction data is available exclusively to the transfer participants.
This provides a very high level of privacy for each user. This ecosystem is composed of several parts, including a High-Frequency Trading (HFT) algorithm for hedge funds, the Atlas DEX Swap, DEXOASIS boasts an internal DEX algorithm capable of processing an impressive 270k orders per second and the Imperium Protocol (Mainnet launch May 2023).
The Insider Protocol HFT bot uses the Layering technique, which is confirmed by video evidence of automatic trading systems working correctly. This development is a game-changer for large investors who do not want to trade Bitcoin 24/7 on their own.
The Atlas DEX Swap is a decentralized cross-chain exchanger of cryptocurrencies. It allows for quick and safe exchanges carried out directly in your wallet, and currently supports over 1,000 ERC-20 coins and tokens. In the upcoming major update, the Atlas DEX Swap will support Solana, Tron, and Monero networks with cross-chain feature.
The Imperium Protocol Blockchain is a full-fledged working blockchain with a working feature of entirely anonymous transactions. The developers have already opened free access to a functional test network, where everyone can personally make regular and completely anonymous transfers. Mainnet is set up to launch in May 2023
The IMC coin, which will be used in conjunction with the main ecosystem index (IPRO), can be quickly transferred to wallets without saving the history of the transaction itself. The test network has already shown its resilience and stability.
Finally, the DEXOASIS is a decentralized cryptocurrency exchange that has already received more than $35 million for internal tests. The exchange is decentralized and uses an on-chain system for the order book.
The internal DEX algorithm supports up to 270k orders per second which allow traders to forget System Overload messages and use the full potential of spot and futures trades on a Decentralized Ecosystem. A Cross-Chain technology will let swap crypto assets with different blockchain networks between each other. If you still don't own crypto, then go to Escrow Service and buy it using a suitable payment method.
The Insider Protocol ecosystem is also developing an NFT platform, decentralized finance (DeFi), an application for smartphones, and an escrow service that will become an alternative to LocalBitcoins and other peer-to-peer (P2P) exchanges.
The ecosystem is also developing a proprietary VPN product with an essential security feature that allows users to use up to three intermediate servers for more secure and untraceable connections.
In conclusion, the Insider Protocol ecosystem promises to provide a high level of privacy and anonymity to its users, making it a game-changer in the world of crypto ecosystems. The launch of the mainnet and listing on top exchanges, including Binance, expected in the coming months.

2023.03.28 13:55 Typical-Treacle6968 Review: Spoils of Victory trilogy
I just binged this series in the past few days and in need to SPEAK because (as far as I can see) it hasn’t been mentioned in this subreddit yet.
First of all - this series is DARK. I’ve read plenty of dark romance in my time and this might be the most hardcore one yet. Please do check the trigger warnings if you’re sensitive
Spoils of Victory is a dark romance RH mafia trilogy by Raissa Donovan and Addison Wolf. In the first book, Breaking Lucia, Lucia Benilli, gets caught by a rival mafia gang while on the run from her own family and….her journey into hell starts there.
I don’t usually like hardcore “bully” romances but this is one that really worked for me. Why? Because of Lucia Benilli. As a heroine, I ADORED her. She was intelligent, ruthless, and every time she was knocked over she dragged herself up again. Her relationship with the leader, Victor Corvo, was electrifying. I love him and I hate him too. He reminds me of a much more ruthless version of Mateo from Sam Mariano’s Morelli series. His mind games had me in a twisted knot.
I did not care for the other two men in the RH which is why this trilogy has not skyrocketed to S tier. If it had been just a romance (if you can call it that) between Victor and Lucia, I would have been OBSESSED
Has anyone else read this trilogy?

2023.03.28 13:53 griz_fan Cookieless tracking for cross-site iframes - GA4 update?
Hi,
I'm helping a client who has a website that loads a third-party event booking web service in an iFrame (something like Fareharbor, Bookeo or Starboardsuite). Last year, I set this up for UA by following
Simo Ahava's Cookieless tracking for cross-site iframes guide. I'm not an expert in GTM or GA, so I struggled a bit to get things to work.
Now, I need to help this same client transition to GA4, and I'd like to track the events from the third-party website in the iFrame in GA4, and also improve how this data gets passed back to Google Ads tracking, too.
Has anyone successfully migrated from using cookieless tracking in an iFrame with UA to GA4? I
think the custom tags for the parent and child page can be left alone (please let me know if that's not the case). Where I'm struggling is how to trigger the GA4 Configuration Tag and various event tags, and successfully pass in the client ID and data layer values from the child page to the parent page's GTM? It seems like the
section of the guide covering this still only addresses using UA and not GA4. I feel like I am so close to figuring this out, but I've hit a point where I'm in over my head a bit and could use some guidance.
Any tips or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

2023.03.28 13:52 NecessaryMistake9754 Why does the Brits still celebrate the royal family?
Not trying to be rude. But I am trying to understand from the perspective of British people why they are still celebrating the royal families? Are they aware the wealth that they accumulate are mostly from centuries of slave trade and tens of thousands of human lives have suffered and died from it. Is this part of history erased from the history book (like the comfort women inflicted by the Japanese soldiers during WWII but the new Japanese generation won't know/aware because it was deleted in the history book). Not trying to be blunt, I am surprised the brits are not ashamed of this history (where many of the previously colonies would consider a dark period) and are so openly celebrating it.

2023.03.28 13:51 enlguy Bansko apartments
www.banskonomadapartments.com This seems to be "the recommended source" for apartments in Bansko, but the site doesn't seem particularly well-built when it comes to payment stuff... It says you are responsible to pay the landlord directly, yet then says it won't send any request until you pay one month of rent and the reservation fee by card. It doesn't even offer a total that will be charged, just mentions some things, and then you're expected to pay... Very off-putting...
Does anyone have experience booking a place with this site?
