I’ve been working as a freelancers for a couple years and I’m looking to move more into a consultancy set up. One thing I see other people in my space doing to promote themselves that I think really stands out is they’re regularly posting insights and wisdom on social media, mostly LinkedIn, and almost daily. The difference maker is that they aren’t just re-sharing inspirational quotes or easy content. It’s usually very thoughtful and timely wisdom or personal anecdotes related to their field or specialty. I have to imagine it’s working well for them because it always gets a lot of comments and likes, and they continue to do it regularly even though it’s also probably quite time consuming. I’m curious if any of you all are doing this, and if so, what is your workflow like? I definitely have it in me to create such content, but the challenge is usually on both extremes. On one end, I have a hard time coming up with ideas on a consistent and regular enough basis to get them out there. On the other hand, when I do sit down and make the space to start writing something, the ideas flow a mile a minute. I’m flooded with ideas and I struggle to zero in on which ones to focus on for development. This is even after having done some evaluation on the types of topics I could write about and how to share value. I’m sure I could figure it out eventually but I’d love to hear any insights that might be available in this subreddit too. How do you funnel ideas into concise posts in a way that’s time and energy effective? Do you batch this work or do you think of something new and interesting each and every day? I’d love to hear any other thoughts, insights or shortcuts anybody has to offer too. Thanks!

Hello! I’m looking for a fellow WWE fan that would like to take part in a WWE related roleplay. I’ve had some experience with WWE roleplays but I don’t require you to have any at all. I would prefer if you are someone that is knowledgeable about the most recent WWE stuff in order to give us more stuff to play with. So if you're currently following WWE, this is definitely for you. I’m okay with both roleplaying as real WWE wrestlers, creating our own, or a mix of both. We can discuss this and see what we each think to decide what the best approach would be. I would like to incorporate some sort of romance to the story itself either as the main plot of the story or at the very least a subplot. Along with the romance plot, I want to incorporate a lot of the WWE universe. This means matches, backstage drama and segments, as well as exploring storylines for our characters in WWE. Like I said, we can discuss all of this and make sure we’re on the same page and plan accordingly. If you have any ideas of your own that you would like to explore in this roleplay, please let me know and I would love to discuss them with you. As for potential scenarios or ideas that we can explore, here are some that I have some experience with or that I’ve wanted to try for a while. These are just general ideas and we can always mold them however we see fit as well as come up with new ones that aren’t mentioned here. Tag Team/Mixed Tag Team - we can start off the roleplay with our characters (real or fictional) being a tag team and that being where they are in terms of storyline for the WWE shows. Another way would be to have our character start off as single wrestlers and WWE deciding to put us in a tag team and explore the dynamics of that in and out of the ring. Bitter rivals - as the name suggests, this approach would have our characters being rivals, whether it be as part of a storyline or genuine animosity outside of the ring. There are many ways we can approach this and it also leaves a good opening for the romance plot to work itself in naturally. New vs Veteran wrestler - For this one, one of us would take on the role of an up and coming wrestler that has just gotten called up to the main roster. The other would be a more seasoned and veteran wrestler that could take the other under their wing or maybe our characters are put together in a storyline to help push the one that is the up and coming wrestler. Again, this could go in many directions and we can decide which way we want to go. For now, these are the ones that I can think of but they are by no means the only ones I’m willing to try. If you have any suggestions please let me know. If you like any of the ones above, let me know and we can discuss the direction we want to take. Other than that, I hope to hear from you :)

Hi fellow redditors. I understand people won't stop asking this fucking question, but I thought I'd farm some reddit karma anyway so that my wife's boyfriend might let me watch tonight.
I've homebrewed my own D&D campaign for 4 months, and most of my players and their characters have been great. However one of the players (we'll call him John Smith, because that's his name (also the coordinates of his house are 51.509797, -0.124625, his mother's maiden name is Foster, and his inside leg measurement is 31cm)) has been a little bit rude to me and I feel like he might have crossed a line in terms of respect.
At the game, he doesn't put any effort in. His character doesn't have a name yet, and he claims to be playing a homebrew class called "mage" which just seems like it can cast wish whenever it wants. I don't know if it's really homebrew though since it's from the D&Dwiki which sounds pretty official. He doesn't pay attention in combat (every time it gets to his turn he asks what's going on and why we're fighting), and he just wants to stand in a corner with his hood up while he broods. He also keeps cancelling last minute when everyone else has walked to Sophie's house (we can't play at my house because my wife and her boyfriend are busy and don't want to be disturbed).
Anyway none of the other players like him because he's racist and a homophobe, and has repeatedly called me slurs behind my back. But it's all a joke haha. He doesn't really mean it.

The Edicts of Ashoka consist of 33 inscriptions commissioned by Ashoka the Great, an Indian ruler. These edicts were meticulously engraved on pillars, large stones, and cave walls, making them accessible for public reading. Despite being created over 22 centuries ago, the principles of humanity conveyed in these edicts demonstrate remarkable advancement for their time.

Edict I
King Ashoka, has caused this Dhamma edict to be written. Here (in my domain) no living beings are to be slaughtered or offered in sacrifice. Formerly, in the kitchen of King Ashoka, hundreds of thousands of animals were killed every day to make curry. But now with the writing of the Dhamma edict, only three creatures, two peacocks and a deer, are killed, And in time, not even these creatures will be killed.
Edict II
…everywhere has King Ashoka, made provision for two types of medical treatment: medical treatment for humans and medical treatment for animals. Wherever medical herbs suitable for humans or animals are not available, I have had them imported and grown. Wherever medical roots or fruits are not available I have had them imported and grown. Along roads I have had wells dug and trees planted for the benefit of humans and animals.
Edict III
Decree concerning inspection tours by Ashoka's officials to instruct the populace in Dhamma and policy of non-violence and benevolence toward all.
Edict IV
Decree concerning non-violence. Notes how heavenly signs were absent in the past when the king pursued violent means to achieve his ends but now, having adopted a policy of non-violence, heavenly signs are appearing again as celestial approval. Discusses the importance of Dhamma and right behavior toward all. Instructs his successors to adhere to Dhamma and uphold Ashoka's vision.
Edict V
King Ashoka, speaks thus: To do good is difficult. One who does good first does something hard to do. I have done many good deeds, and, if my sons, grandsons, and their descendants up to the end of the world act in like manner, they too will do much good. But whoever amongst them neglects this, they will do evil. Truly, it is easy to do evil. [The remainder of the edict addresses compassion for convicts and their families and the proper application of and instruction in Dhamma].
Edict VI
King Ashoka, speaks thus: In the past, state business was not transacted nor were reports delivered to the king at all hours. But now I have given this order, that at any time, whether I am eating, in the women's quarters, the bed chamber, the chariot, the Palanquin, in the park, or wheresoever, reporters are to be posted with instructions to report to me the affairs of the people so that I might attend to these affairs wherever I am. [The remainder of this edict emphasizes Ashoka's availability to all, how he intends to settle debates in council chambers quickly, and his commitment to the welfare of all his subjects].
Edict VII
King Ashoka, desires that all religions should reside everywhere, for all of them desire self-control and purity of heart. But people have various desires and various passions, and they may practice all of what they should or only a part of it. But one who receives great gifts yet is lacking in self-control, purity of heart, gratitude and firm devotion, such a person is mean.
Edict VIII
In the past, kings used to go out on pleasure tours during which there was hunting and other entertainment. But ten years after Beloved-of-the-Gods had been coronated, he visits and give gifts of gold to the aged, visits to people in the countryside, instructing them in Dhamma, and discussing Dhamma with them as is suitable. It is this that delights King Ashoka, and is, as it were, another type of revenue.
Edict IX
Decree concerning proper and improper ceremonies. Ashoka claims that many ceremonies – those engaged in without proper understanding of Dhamma – are “vulgar and worthless” but Dhamma ceremonies, by those fully informed, bear the greatest fruit. He describes such ceremonies as involving “proper behavior towards servants and employees, respect for teachers, restraint towards living beings, and generosity” as well as right behavior toward relatives, friends, and neighbors. He concludes by noting how, even if Dhamma may seem to have no effect on this world, it does in the next but that when Dhamma is clearly seen to achieve its purpose, it does good in both this life and the one to come.
Edict X
King Ashoka, does not consider glory and fame to be of great account unless they are achieved through having my subjects respect Dhamma and practice Dhamma, both now and in the future. For this alone does King Ashoka, desire glory and fame. And whatever efforts King Ashoka, is making, all of that is only for the welfare of the people in the next world, and that they will have little evil. And being without merit is evil. This is difficult for either a humble person or a great person to do except with great effort, and by giving up other interests. In fact, it may be even more difficult for a great person to do.
Edict XI
King Ashoka, speaks thus: There is no gift like the gift of the Dhamma, (no acquaintance like) acquaintance with Dhamma, (no distribution like) distribution of Dhamma, and (no kinship like) kinship through Dhamma. And it consists of this: proper behavior towards servants and employees, respect for mother and father, generosity to friends, companions, relations, Brahmans and ascetics, and not killing living beings. Therefore, a father, a son, a brother, a master, a friend, a companion or a neighbor should say: “This is good, this should be done.” One benefits in this world and gains great merit in the next by giving the gift of Dhamma.
Edict XII
Decree concerning religious tolerance and mutual respect among adherents of different faiths. Ashoka condemns the practice of elevating one's own religion at the expense of someone else's: “Growth in essentials can be done in different ways, but all of them have as their root restraint in speech, that is, not praising one's own religion, or condemning the religion of others without good cause. And if there is cause for criticism, it should be done in a mild way. But it is better to honor other religions for this reason. By so doing, one's own religion benefits and so do other religions, while doing otherwise harms one's own religion and the religions of others. Whoever praises his own religion, due to excessive devotion, and condemns others with the thought 'Let me glorify my own religion', only harms his own religion…One should listen to and respect the doctrines professed by others.” The edict concludes with the admonition that an individual's religion grows through Dhamma and so all faiths are improved by tolerance and understanding.
Edict XIII
Famous decree concerning the Kalinga War in which Ashoka describes the aftermath of the campaign, repents, and describes how he now “conquers” people through Dhamma and the universal love and understanding which binds people together and leads to harmonious existence. It reads, in part: “King Ashoka, conquered the Kalingas eight years after his coronation. One hundred and fifty thousand were deported, one hundred thousand were killed and many more died (from other causes). After the Kalingas had been conquered, Beloved-of-the-Gods came to feel a strong inclination towards the Dhamma, a love for the Dhamma and for instruction in Dhamma. Now Beloved-of-the-Gods feels deep remorse for having conquered the Kalingas…Now it is conquest by Dhamma that Beloved-of-the-gods considers to be the best conquest…I have had this Dhamma edict written so that my sons and great-grandsons may not consider making new conquests, or that if military conquests are made, that they be done with forbearance and light punishment, or better still, that they consider making conquest by Dhamma only, for that bears fruit in this world and the next. May all their intense devotion be given to this which has a result in this world and the next.
Edict XIV
King Ashoka, has had these Dhamma edicts written in brief, in medium length, and in extended form. Not all of them occur everywhere, for my domain is vast, but much has been written, and I will have still more written. And also, there are some subjects here that have been spoken of again and again because of their sweetness, and so that the people may act in accordance with them. If some things written are incomplete, this is because of the locality, or in consideration of the object, or due to the fault of the scribe.

Me and my friend made this a few days before the launch of 2042's Season 5. I would like the community's thoughts on the game and what we had to say.
What we said TL;DR:

• stream of new content is pathetic, especially in comparison to past games and competitor franchises
• The maps suck, reworks haven't helped
• Specialists were a terrible idea and it's a travesty they ever made it into the game, so much so that retroactively fitting the old class system over can't and will never be able to fully fix it
• Infantry, gun, and vehicle gameplay all feel awful, floaty, unresponsive
• progression sucks, far too grindy
• premise/nopats is stupid (answer to no country yet the teams are till US and Russia)
• Hazard Zone sucks, thank God they dropped it
• Portal: great idea, horrid execution

I have been living at our current rental house since 2018. I have had to deal with a gravel yard across the street with large trucks idling beginning early AM. I thought that was terrible but then the gravel yard was turned into a giant 3 story apartment complex with 40 or so units. Construction noises for years. It was so rough. Now the 3 story building funnels the sounds of the pretty busy 2 lane road more and the car noises are absolutely enraging, especially the bass. All day and night people are thumping their music. I can feel it with noise cancelling headphones on and I sleep with multiple sound machines. Recently a flight path changed or something and we get constant planes overhead. Our neighbors must be retired because they blast music and detail their cars all day beginning in the early morning. I WFH 3x a week. A warehouse is going to be built down the hill from us that will be over 2 million sq ft. Maybe the new apartments will block those noises? I have been wanting to leave for years but haven’t found a rental better than this one.
Yesterday we toured a rental that we are first in line for and it was super nice. It’s tucked back in a quiet neighborhood with trees. The houses are much, much closer than our current house so that is a concern. It is also less than a mile from a hospital. I understand there would be ambulance noises but I am more concerned about escaping the constant car and bass noises. The house also has one less bedroom and the bedrooms are much much tinier with low ceilings. Downstairs and outside, amazing. Second floor, not so great.
Would it be worth it to downsize to try and escape the road noises? It would be much cheaper to stay at my current rental and it is more spacious. I feel like no matter where I live in this town it’s never going to be reasonably quiet and it makes me sad. Thanks for any advice!

So me (26m) and my wife (26f) haven't been married very long, a little over 2 months. We'd met online, talked for a while and had a few flights to visit each other before I popped the question and we had our wedding in her home state. We had decided to move back to my home (about 3,000 miles away) to live because I already had my own apartment and the cost of living was lower. Since then we have lived a rather happy life together.

I did my best to reassure and comfort her and it seemed to help a bit at first, but as the weeks have gone by it seems to bother her more and more. We do have a few couple "friends" but it's more on their time not ours and even today they canceled a museum trip we had planned for 2 weeks. So I understand how that can be upsetting and there isn't a lot I feel I can do about that.
Our most recent and more severe problems seem to have started with her new job. She had a little under months of time off because I wanted her to relax and get settled in, but even then when that was over she got right to looking for a job without me even asking. She had a bunch off interviews and offers (shes worked for the dental industry for 5 yrs and had a nice recommendation from her boss) and ended up getting a nice desk job at a dental clinic. The issue seems to be that it reminds her of home and her old job. She worked with some of her family and almost every day when she gets home she's in tears and talking about how much she misses everyone and her old job. She cries for hours sometimes, I try to comfort her and she talked to her family rather often, generally a couple times a week. It feels like no matter what I do it doesn't help, I want to be there for her but I have no idea where to start.
I've suggested things like moving back to her home together, but her reasons for staying here seem to be the same reasons she should have left home? She doesn't want me to miss my friends and family and to uproot my life. It feels like she's sacrificing her happiness for me and insist it's what she wants. I even offered to fly her family out, but she's worried about how much money I'd be spending to do that. I'm just lost on what I should do next.
TL;DR: My wife moved in with me halfway across the country and now she misses her family and old life but my support and solutions don't seem to help.

My ex gf(34) and I M(29) broke up just under 5 weeks ago. We were in a LDR for 8 months and I fell hard in love with her
She was married and I was single, I never pursued her because of this. Until one night we were hanging out on a discord call with friends and she messaged me telling me how attractive she thinks I am, I at first thought she was messing around and thought nothing of it until a few more messages, then she came on very hard sexually. So I decided to say fuck it and go along with it cause i always found her attractive and we vibed. (I regret it everyday, at the time I didn't care about her marriage and I know how shitty I am for it, karma has well and truly done what it needed to do to me) this continued for a couple weeks, it was highly sexual, the messages, voice notes, videos, pictures and calls. This goes on for a couple weeks and then she started to talk about how she was feeling towards me, she would call me her twin flame, say things like she's never connected with anyone the way she does me etc. I always rejected the talk of feelings because I didn't want to go there. I didn't want to catch feelings as this was purely sexual to me. Fast forward a couple more weeks and at this point we have been talking a fuck ton, about very personal things, our childhoods, our life, bonded over music, games and whatnot. She continued to push her feelings for me and I continued to keep my guard up because I didn't want to end up in this position I am now in. She told me she was going to divorce her husband, I never commented or gave advice on it because lt was not my place to do so. I did tell her to heal from her divorce, take time for herself and find herself again. She agreed and wanted to do so, so she could be fully available to me. I know at this point we had already cheated and destroyed another man but I atleast respected her for wanting to heal. She filed for divorce and we continued to talk but then the subject of love came up. I told her I will not go there until me and her are in person and know how it really feels, she agreed but then one week goes by and she tells me she is in love with me. I was falling for her and knew how I felt but wanted us to do so in person. We then became a couple... I know how fucked up it is, I really do.
She would tell me weird things like men always hitting on her, always trying to get with her, send me screenshot of guys non stop bothering her. I never asked for these things, so It made me feel weird but I never communicated it, which I know is my fault and something I've learnt. At this point we were dating and she would complain of this one guy non stop bothering her and she can't get rid of him. I told her just tell the dude you're with your bf and he will probably back off, I was not happy with her over this because it felt like she was hiding me. She apologised and we moved forward with it, then she started lying about being in other guys streams. I called her out on her lies and she would always proceed to call me jealous and insecure, the thing that hurt the most was after our blowup she would go back into that guys stream and give him money. Felt like a kick in the gut. Was there jealousy there? Yes? I sat with it for a while to understand why I was being jealous and all I could think about was the amount of times she would tell me about different men trying to get with her and the little lies she would come up with, i could never prove she was lying and i know it made me sounds crqzy and possesive but i know what i saw and i know what my gut was telling me. I'm normally not a jealous man. This would happen a few times and it hurt me but I bottled it up and it came out in the wrong way. That's on me... another example is when she mentioned this man messaging her just after her divorce, wanting to take her out etc. She would shit talk this guy to me, call him creepy and whatnot. One day we were laying down and I look over to her, I glanced at her phone and here is the same guy she is calling a creep messaging her. I was furious, instead of confronting her I gave the silent treatment, immature of me I know but I just didn't know how to deal with what my gut was telling me, I rejected it all and refused to believe that this person I'm in love with is lying to me and God knows what else.
She also told me about a time her best friends husband tried to kiss her. Again, I dont know why she told me this but hey ho. She also told me how they both cheated on one another many times. She brought me to that house, I remember the four of us chilling in their garage having a drink, laughs and a smoke. Her friend showed me photos of a lake they all go to in the summer. As we left to head back home my gf goes on to tell me how she isn't happy with her friend, she didn't like the way she leaned over me to show photos. Then went on to say how I am her friends type and all this bullshit. I told her to take that up with her friend and leave me the fuck out of this cause I did nothing nore even notice something like that. We had a massive argument over it. Wasn't the first time she got jealous over another woman. I dont mind jealousy, i think its a normal reaction to have but as long as it doesnt become unhealthy and controlling, the other ones were minor but questions were asked about certain women liking photos on my Instagram. One I went on a date with once and the other who I worked with. That's it, I was happy to say who these people were and what they meant to me. I had nothing to hide. Time goes on and she flew over to me (London) for my birthday. We argued that night too and she threatened to leave me, I told her if she ever threatens to do so again, I will leave her as I found it cruel to put that one someone. Writing this out I realise how toxic this all was. Which hits me hard because I felt like I was in love and we connected so well. I wish I communicated how I felt better, I wish I didn't do what I did and I wish I was given a fair chance to be in love. I am also at fault for this I'm fully aware.
Fast forward to few weeks ago we have a massive row again because I called her out on her lies, she called me a psycho and too possessive. I tried to explain its not that you are in another man's stream, it's the fact that you lie about it and I don't know why, she then goes on to tell me im only ever comfortable when she goes to a her other best friends house, i said yes because she seemed level headed and honest, the reason i felt uncomfortable with her going to her other friends house was because of them doing cocaine in there, which she had told me about but it was all made out to be like i was jealous because the husband tried to kiss her. It had fuck all to do with that, its drugs and she knew how i felt about drugs. But I was starting to feel like I may genuinely be highly jealous and insecure. I dont know if that's because she has made me feel that way or I am like that. I've worked hard these last 2 months to make sure that's not the case. Anyway she forgave me and we moved forward, until 3 weeks later she said this isn't working. I begged, I pleaded and I didn't understand why I was given this chance and then had it snatched from me when I was doing everything I can to work on myself
She went on to say she wants to heal because she had just gotten out of an 11 year relationship, and be by herself. I found it hard to believe considering that's what she should've done 8 months ago, like we said. Then she proceeds to tell me its because of the hurt I caused her that night a few weeks ago when we argued. I accused her of lying, which she was.i didn't verbally assault or call her names I just asked her to tell me what is going on. We were intoxicated and I just had enough of the little lies. I know that is for me to work on and put right, I will accept anything and everything I've done wrong these last 8 months. Not even two weeks went by and I found out she is already dating. I knew this would happen cause she done it to her husband, who the fuck am I right? I aint special. But I'm hurting so much, my confidence is shattered and I'm lost. Someone gave me this smol kitten, it appears to be 6-7 weeks old. It’s eating the wet kitty food and drinking water. It’s not very active though, it walks around the house just chilling in different areas and meowing when we talk to it. It’s friendly and like to cuddle. Last year during the Hurricane my friend found an abandoned one week old kitten and fostered him and when he got a little older my partner decided he wanted him and so we adopted. Our friend however condones and reinforces a lot of bad behavior with their own cats and soo when our cat finally moved in we realized just how much work we had to do. This boy stole food out of our plates and hands scratched us and but us any chance he could. I mostly did the heavy lifting when it came to training and being gently I would let the cat bite me and I would make a loud squeal to let him know he’s not being gentle and this has worked greatly for biting hands and nothing else. At his foster moms he eats on the counter and here he does not but this makes him get on the counters at our place, then our friend said to deal with his bad behavior we needed a spray bottle. Holy fuck do not spray your cats because he got worse!!! I didn’t sign up for an animal to break my shit and to be assaulted all day and I am too tired to play with him all day even though I know redirecting him with toys is good.
Hearing my partner yell at the cat and me not really feeling joy or love when around our son it’s hard and it’s really sad because I am trying to bond but even ignoring him doesn’t make him not attack and I can’t keep him entertained every second of the day everytime he gets bored. So WIBTA if I got rid of this cat or should I just keep trying to bond? I’ve never taken care of a pet before it’s more work than I bargained for even with research.

Hi, Thank you for taking time to read this. I would appreciate a 2nd prespective on this situation, as I need to make it clear to myself if I am overreacting or not to heal. Recently, about 2 months ago, I had to endure a friendship breakup which really made me sad. For some context, my and this person (lets call him G) were acquaintances starting off. When we were acquaintances, we got along very well; we talked a lot in person, we got along, we made up our own personal games etc. I decided that G seems like an amazing person with a strong personality, and wanted to go from acquaintances to friends. I trusted him. 1.5 months into the friendship, I found out that G was friends with my ex-best friend, a girl whom I trusted and ended up leaving a friendship with me. I only found out through rumors that G and this girl (lets call her C) were friends because he didn't tell me anything. Suddenly, rumors started to spark that G and C were doing something suspicious online, and to understand the severity of it, think: it could have been escalated to a legal issue if it prolonged. Everyone (in my class) knew an entire 2 weeks before me that 1. G and C were friends, and 2. they were hiding something from me. I confronted G about the rumors, and he was of course, being very defensive and wanted me to believe him. I told him that I would take his side, exempt only if I saw evidence, but I felt forced to believe him because he wanted me to. Fast forward to the interesting part. G started becoming very close with C and ignoring me on the side. This came so far to be that they kissed each other twice in front of me, hugged, took each other out for food etc. Since G was spending all this time with C, he naturally started to prioritize her over me. Now, I told him that its NOT a problem if he is friends with C, he has a right to choose who he wants to be friends with. However, I felt disrespected that he doesn't talk to me (watch me and ignore me) to go to C and therefore, I told him to allocate 20 minutes per WEEK to have an in person conversation with him. (He is a very popular boy and I am willing to negotiate with him since he has a larger pool of friends.) He said okay, but never changed his behavior: so I called the friendship off as he was STILL continuing to ignore me for C. In my mind, he didn't see me of such importance to make time for me, the same way I did for him. It's not my problem that he can't manage his time, but can't just not speak to me in a month for C, which he did. I respected him when he was present and behind his back, I even spoke to his sister telling her how I respected and appreciated her brother. I bought him macarons, stayed up till 12 am helping him with schoolwork and always looked out for him...all for him to leave me for C. In the end when I called off the friendship, he immediately got with C and forgot about me. The interesting thing is that the majority (if not all) of the class knew we were friends, and barely anyone checked up on me to see if I'm okay. Now, I didn't expect anyone to, but when anyone else in my class loses a friend, the class is there to back them up. (I am NOT a popular girl.) Everyone in my class supports G and C, and I seem to be a forgotten memory. The teachers constantly talk about G and C and their friendship(?), and for prom, the whole class waited at the door eagerly to see when C is coming so that C and G can attend the prom together + many other instances. I started to wonder why no one cared, as if something like this happened to anyone else in the class, the outcome would be different. I know no one is obligated to me, but at the same time, someone saying how are you feeling would be better than nothing.
After reading this can anyone advise me:

1. If it was a good idea to call off the friendship.
2. Why (barely) no one cared about me when G and C broke off the friendship.

Pretty much what the title says, but for context, I'm the youngest on my team at age 25. I work in recruiting. The person calling me this is probably in his mid-40s, and he does it in messages and during phone calls, but not in group settings or on email. He is a senior program manager at the company I work at, and because I have aspirations to move into program/project management later on in my career, I really don't want to alienate this person. Also, other than this issue, we work together fine.
That being said, I find it condescending, and realistically, any comment about a coworker's age has absolutely no place in a professional conversation anymore.
Options I've considered:

• Calling him "old man" in response (this does not seem like the right option, but tempting as hell to show him what it's like to be addressed like that)
• Letting him know that I find it inappropriate for work and it makes me uncomfortable (I haven't done this so far because, again, career prospects and jeopardizing a working relationship, potential to make things awkward, etc.)
• Mentioning the problem to a friend in HR proper, with the idea of getting some generic "how not to address your coworkers" info across his desk OR a light reprimand directly to him - not sure if he would know it's from me.
• Adding a response to our message chain after he does it again, saying "Also, I'd really prefer if you just use my name from now on"

Again, I know this guy is being a jerk by today's standards and I shouldn't have to put up with someone frequently making me feel uncomfortable at work. However, I need advice tempered towards repairing the situation rather than making it more uncomfortable, if possible, to protect my career prospects.

Exactly as written, all of April into May has been an existential struggle. Giving up, triggering, drinking, self loathing, repeat. The longest I've made in that stretch was two weeks and I felt great until I fell again. This is serious to me, frustrating. I don't want to lose this fight to something so absurd.
Through this time leading up to today, I have quit and started 3 jobs. I've shouted at my friends. One roommate in particular drinks a lot, all through the night and paces sometimes until the sunrises. I've been the worst on him, as it prevents me from sleep. Now I lay here in my room, earplugs on, wondering if or how I can talk to anyone.
I have a Son who thinks the world of me, he has no idea about my problems. I don't want him to be around this. If I'm working on my problems, I can't be around someone who wont or has no desire to stop either. Used to think I hid it well around most people, now I fear it's glaringly obvious.
Feeling like I'll be homeless by the month's end. My current employer has made it clear he wants to assist in anyways he can. But it's my third day, and I left yesterday due to freaking out. I feel selfish, ornery, narcissistic, don't know which feelings are valid and which aren't. This hurts.
I don't even know what I hoped to acheive by even posting here, advice? Validation? Does it even matter. I'm just not sure what to do. I needed to let this out. It's felt suffocating.

After taking my (1 month away from) 4 y/o daughter to a playpark she used a rock to draw on the hood of my car while I was loading up her baby brother in the car. I found out when I walked past the car when we got home. It's pretty bad. She fessed up. I got a bit upset with her and told her that this is going to cost a lot of money to fix and that I'm not thrilled with what she did. She was regretful, but she was very tired as well and I feel like blowing up on her wouldn't help the situation any further. Not that I do that anyways. I told her I wouldn't carry her home now and she could walk instead.
For the extent of the damage and what it's going to cost me I feel like some more punishment is in order. But I'm not sure what. She's only 4 after all but she should know better. I've told her a few times before that the car (and many other things) are off-limits to draw on. Only draw on paper. With a pencil. I just fear that with the current reaction she doesn't realise the severity of what she did.
So dads, what would you do? Every weekend we go out on a trip and have fun in a big play park, or water park, zoo whatever. I was thinking of skipping that and taking her with me to the garage to repair the car instead. Any other good ideas? Hope your day was better than mine today 🫠
