I'm wondering what is the cheapest way to get recharagable 18650 lithium ion batteries or something similar for a custom battery bank I am building for a project. I'm new to electronics and don't have a ton of experience. I'm working on converting a car stereo system into my own portable boom box that I would take on long camping trips. I wired up the stero and speakers, and they draw about 4 amps on average when playing. Ideally I want 24 hours of continuous play, so I'm looking for around 96,000 mah hours at 12v. I was thinking of using 18650 batteries hooked up in 3 series 14 parallel, to achieve desired voltage and mah but I'm seeing online that 18650 batteries can be expensive as hell. $5-9 per battery. What is the best way to get cheap batteries that won't be complete garbage? Im thinking of buying dead power tool batteries and salvaging the functional batteries that are on the inside, but I'm not sure if I should trust batteries I'm ripping out of old tools like this. Does anyone have some insight or suggestions? (Pic related - the batteries I'm thinking of tearing apart)

My boss who also happens to be my college senior founded a pretty successful company. I was one of the earliest employees working under his leadership. He is only close to the earliest employees because we were there with him right from the beginning.
Anyways, he has a habit of rebuilding his house (or shall I say a mansion?) every 5 years. Like he would completely raze down his house to the ground and built it again, live in it for 5 years, rinse and repeat. So, whenever he rebuilds his house, he invites us (only the earliest employees) for a nice house warming party.
So, recently when I attended the house warming party, I happened to take a peek into his garage which had like around 20-30 amazing cars ranging from Mercedes Benz to Audi, from Bentley to Rolls Royce, from Porsche to Ferrari and god knows what else.
Now, I'm pretty worried about the environment (who isn't tbh) so seeing that many cars kind of irked me a bit. I'm not mad at him or something, but why does a person need so many cars is what I feel.
Since we are close and went to the same college, I figured I'd ask him. So, when he was alone during the party, I pulled him aside and asked him about it. At first he was like "I love cars and stuff" and then when I told him that it's harmful for the environment and requested him to reconsider his life choices, he told me to shut up and mind my own business.
I now kinda feel like an asshole for asking him.

We are bombarded with a 24/7 constant barrage of distractions. Entertainment - Art - News - Commercials- Information - everything. Coupled with work pressure - most people nowadays dont have even a few minutes to stop and think. Thats by design to keep the population occupied - tired - manipulatred and complacent.
Otherwise its simply not possible for all the obvious lies to be believed by such large segments of the population. For example:
Preaching that in order to stop climate change the average Joe should limit his "overconsumption" of resources - surrender his car - stop eating meat and start eating bugs - while the Millionaires/Billionaires have 4 private jets - 4 yachts - 50 cars and 20 houses - is just ridiculous. Yet many people still swallow and support this - because they dont have time to think.

Hey there fellas, currently on the hunt for my next e34. I drove a m50b20 520iM for the last 2 years as my daily and sold it a week ago because of body work (rust) and lack of power plus I wasn’t the biggest fan of Sterling silver.
Now I am very much set on a 535iM as my next daily. If you think that a 525 M50 is that much better please elaborate but from what Info I gathered I would enjoy the m30 more.
Now for the title. I am looking in Germany in the 6-10k range. Manuals are quite rare with only 10 being offered. However there are quite a few very nice 535iA examples in my price range. Is it worth it to get one of those and swap a 5-Speed or better to wait and see what Manual pops up? How hard and how expensive is a manual swap? And for those from Germany, are there shops that offer this? I haven’t found too much.
Now, I do know how to work on cars from teaching myself but have never had any job experience or similar. I was successful in replacing pretty much all suspension components on the 520 without much issue. I would be willing to try and work on this myself as there are quite a few instructors (e34.net /m3nameisjosh)

Heyo guys i picked up my car yesterday from the garage after a engine and gearbox swap it's a revisioned m54b30 and a used but in better then my old gearbox zf 5 speed don't know the exact name they changed the clutch and everything and said there was a little shake when letting the clutch come up but it's not just a little shake with the window down only in 1st gear it's a whole rattle i can't really place what it is supposed to be it also happend when downshifting from 3rd to 2nd all the other gears up and down are smooth sooo what could this be? Any ideas

My wife and I bought our first house last year for £321,000. My salary is £47,000, although overtime is plentiful and this year I was able to gross £63,000. My wife's is £31,500 and she also earns a 5% bonus.

My partner and I are life planning and have different opinions on something, in part because I don’t see how it is financially feasible. I’m seeking help and clarity.
I have no debt, 130k salary. I save $750 paycheck towards a house. I want to get a single family home in my name in the next year around 300k. I can do this before our lease is up next august financially with 20% down. Then I would pay the mortgage and they would pay groceries/utilities.
My partner wants me to buy a duplex that they then run as the property manager, we split profits equally and then their name gets added when we get married. The plan is to then save for a single family home in the next 3 years and move out to have kids - keeping the duplex. They would stay at home for a few years and manage the property, having that income to themselves. They are currently finishing up paying off their cc/personal loan debt, have about 90k between student loans and car (although the student loans will be forgiven in two years if they stay at their current job, which they plan to), and make 62k. They currently have no/minimal savings.
I want my partner to feel financial secure staying home, and to feel that they are still earning their own income, plus owning a duplex has just been a dream for them. I won’t lie and say that I’m not struggling with feeling a bit taken advantage of, but that’s a problem for therapy. What I’m mostly struggling with, and what I think this sub can help with, is that I just don’t think it’s financially possible.
We would have two mortgages at the same time. The mortgage would be about 2k on the 300k (I believe), which is what I pay in rent now, so in theory I could save what I am now ($750 a paycheck). But the family home would be downsized, the duplex wouldn’t be paid off yet so no real income from it, we would also need to save for a wedding in that time and potentially fertility treatments, plus I would have to be the one carrying the kid then go straight back to work to keep this afloat, quality of living decreases, idk it just seems very overleveraged. On top of all that, my partner ideally wants this to happen in the next 3-5 years bc if they have kids they want them by 35, whereas I have another decade there.
I have a very upwardly mobile career and anticipate making manager in the next three years which would put me around 150-170 salary but that feels like a gamble. Can someone help me clear this up in my brain? Is my partner being realistic?

My life is pretty basic. I get up, do my daily errands, watch a movie or two and go back to sleep. When I woke up this morning I thought that it would be like normal, I got up and made some breakfast, ate and then left. When I got in my car to drive to work I saw what looked like a duck in the road. Like any other normal human being with a soul I got out my car to escort the duck to the other side of the road and got back into my car thinking nothing of it, because why would that be irregular? I stood up and went to the bathroom where I saw my friend Parker, Are you okay man? He asked with a serious look, I responded with Yeah again, thinking nothing of it until I looked in the mirror. My eyes were bloodshot and my nose was gushing blood. How could I have not felt the blood? In panic I ran outside to my car, driving off. I took a McDonald’s napkin I had in the glovebox and put it to my nose, driving with one hand when I abruptly stopped. There was 6 ducks in the road. I live near no body’s of water in a very big city so this was very rare. “God damnit” I say, and honk my horn. After I did that the ducks disappeared. They vanished out of thin air. When I get home I sat down on my couch. After about 5 seconds my head starts throbbing, almost as if someone is shoving thousands of needles through it and then I guess I passed out. When I woke up I saw what looked like one-hundred ducks running through my living room, and when I peared over at my slightly open bedroom door I saw somebody looking at me, directly. With a humongous smile and wide open eyes. I scream with horror n close my eyes thinking it would all go away. Wrong, I was so very wrong. When I opened my eyes the ducks were gone but the man was closer. He was standing at the opposite end of the couch I was laying at. Maybe if I don’t look away he won’t move. I pick up my phone and try to dial my moms number, trusting my peripheral vision. I hear the phone ring and I feel a bit of relief, not a lot though because I was still staring at a man who looks like he eats children. Finally my mom picks up, Yeah? She says. She sounded a bit staticy but that was the least of my concerns. Come over right fucking now, I said sternly and then hung up. Jesus christ why would I hang up. As soon as my fingers touched that red button the man was on top of me like a wife who hasn’t seen her husband in 13 years. I was fighting back for what felt like centuries before I hear a knock on my door. Right after my mom knocked the man disappeared. I rushed over and unlocked the door. Once I explained everything to my mom she looked at me worry full. Honey did you take your schizophrenic medication. How could I forget, my meds. Me and my mother went to the bathroom so she could watch me take them. After I took them she walked me to my bedroom and lied me down. Make sure to take them, It’s important she told me before walking out of my room. Once she got to the front door, that was across from my bedroom door. She looked back at me and smiled, not a normal smile though. That wasn’t my mom. THAT WASN’T MY MOM.

I worked in a factory and was the most horrible job I have done in my life by now I could still working there but Somehow circumstances gave me the opportunity to leave and to see the word since then has been an adventure after an other and I saved and collected the most valuable currency I could ever have …. Memories. For eight years I woke up at 5:00am in the morning, I would open my Mum shop at 6:00am and I would leave at 7:00am to be at work in a factory at 8:00am, I would finish at 5:00pm I would get my car I would be home by 5:40pm and back to the shop at 6:30pm, I would be in the shop until 8:00pm, Seven days a week except two Sundays off in a month.
I’ve done it for eight years and spent the quietest time in the shop reading, especially reading about travel books that made me decide I wanted to leave, I always been travelling within Europe but I reached a point after reading those books that I wanted to travel and work abroad and Since then I’ve been in the most beautiful adventures.
18 years passed and there are so much memories, there was a lot of struggles and suffering but those many memories again in those 18 years are priceless, if I die tomorrow I will have so many beautiful moments to be happy for.
My first stop was Australia and that’s where the story is going to start, it was in Bundaberg, Queensland, north of Australia that’s where I met one of the most important women of my life and meeting this woman transformed my existence in the stories I’m sharing nowadays, it’s because of her all those wonderful moments happened.
I moved to Bundaberg because my Uncle and my Auntie were farmers and I needed to work 3 months in a farm to renew my working holiday visa … ended up staying almost one year, the house was in the middle of nowhere they choose a hostel for me that would take me to work out to the farms and their farm.
Bundaberg was a very peaceful and quiet farming town, not much would really happen there then one day some Christians faithful came in our hostel trying to find new faithfuls for the church offering us free food after the service as excuse to get us there, what are my weakness? One of them have always been free food but what I would never imagine would happen was something that I never thought I would expect from a church, This church was different from what I was used to, Christians preach differently while Catholics are boring , live music boring everything they says it’s boring but for my big surprise, this branch of the Christian faith was of musical, a wonderful music that would touch your Soul, Priests could get married, no dress code and our Pastor had Tattoos, now don’t get me wrong ….. I didn’t become a Christian and I’m not now but I loved the way service and music was performed and joined almost every Sunday, It was for the food, music and the show.
The music would touch you and make you feel the Love and you didn’t need to be a religious man to feel it and I enjoyed the company of the people attending the service and food afterward but time to leave Bundaberg arrived and with Kaori my guardian Angel we decided to fly to Perth.
It was my last time at the Christian service and at the end of it ready to have my last free meal something happened that left me speechless and made a beautiful memory, the Pastor call my name and I was shocked cause how he knew and why me? ….. “Alessandro come here on stage please” so I made my way next to him and somehow he knew I was leaving Bundaberg and wanted to give me a gift being the only backpacker going to the service almost every Sunday and probably thinking I was converted, He asked me in front of everybody why I joined the service but I couldn’t tell him the truth so I made up a story that it wasn’t true but I knew would make him happy and would make everybody happy saying that I was glad to be there, so now I can’t really remember very well but was something like I was converted and that I truly enjoyed the music, I could never tell them that I was there initially for the free food but then it’s true it was for the music so he gives me one of the most beautiful gifts that was the best of Hillsong United songs of 2005 it was a pleasure for me and one of my wonderful memories that I will remember until my last day on Earth and until my brain will be able to remember, Christian music have been the soundtrack of my last 18 years and sometimes I do join Christian services listening to the music, remembering that I’m not just a body walking trough this lifetime but a Soul temporary living in a body and that my purpose it’s more than just what this broken society made me to believe when I was a child, this journey is much more and we are the writers of our own book.
