The tigers.com web site shows 29 players on the 40-man roster who are not in the minors or on the IL. That needs to be 26 by opening day as far as I know. (It was 28 to start last year but I think that isn't the case this year.) And if there are any non-roster guys to be added, then that means additional moves to compensate.
My take of the three guys most likely to be demoted:
We have 14 pitchers and would usually carry 13. Recent waiver claim Tyler Holton hasn't shown all that much this spring, though he is left-handed. (Almost all our relievers are righties, but then our starters include lefties in Erod, Boyd, Wentz and Skubal if he returns this year.) But for that matter, neither Beau Brieske nor Garrett Hill has been lights-out, and the latter two guys might be more useful as lower-level starters as opposed to MLB long relief. (Most of our bullpen guys had a forgettable spring, save rule-5 Mason Englert.)
Since we have more off-days early in the season, there's also the idea that we only carry 12 pitchers and then one more position player.
Catchers and DH are set, so that's three guys out of 13, leaving ten total infielders and outfielders. We'd typically do six infielders and four outfielders, with one of the infielders (e.g. Maton) being a utility guy who can play outfield in a pinch.
In terms of infielders, we have seven now if you think of Maton as an infielder, not sure why the roster shows him in the outfield, so need to demote one. Tyler Nevin didn't show much that would guarantee him a role on the big-league club after dealing with injuries most of the spring. Then it's a question of do you want Zack Short, who is older at 27 and hasn't been impressive in the majors yet, or do you DFA somebody to make room for César Hernández, who at 32 has all of Short's liabilities without offering much in the way of advantages. You'd have to think Kreidler seems more attractive than either guy on the basis of his glove so he's probably safe.
For the outfield, we have five guys (again if you think of Maton in the infield) and would likely not keep both Baddoo and Carpenter if you assume Greene, Meadows and Vierling are safe. Baddoo and Carpenter have been discussed to date so your guess is as good as mine there.

My puppy is 10 months old now. My wife and I are going on vacation for a week. We've checked out a few boarding places and found one which has really good reviews and very friendly staff. But the thing is the place seems utterly boring. We had our puppy go there a couple times for daycare to get him used to it and we'd watch on the webcam. There's no toys, just one obstacle and a bunch of dogs. We like that they can go outside/inside but it's the same thing outside too. So although he looks plenty safe and looked after, it looks so incredibly boring that it feels wrong.

Around 2007-08, hubs and I each opened IRAs. His a Roth and, because I was starting mine with an old 401k from my teen years, mine a traditional. We were about 22-23 when we opened them and for YEARS could only afford to add $50/mo (better than nothing!)
Being young and poor newlyweds with a baby and crappy paying jobs, we hadn’t been able to invest a ton until recently, as our earnings have increased a LOT. (Currently adding $350/mo each to IRAs.)
Hubs is suggesting we move my IRA into my 401k and open a Roth instead.
My current account values: IRA $25,779 401k $37,934 (mostly trad—by a lot—but I’m currently putting a higher % into Roth vs Trad. Just upped from 10/12% split to 10/14% - Trad/Roth.)
If it matters, we do own our own home and it’s worth well over what we paid in 2009. We also have no debt (aside from the mortgage) and our CCs are paid in full each month.
(I don’t have immediate access to his accounts but he has a little over $100k total among all of his retirement investments.)
So, does it make sense to move my funds into my 401k, close the Trad IRA, and open a new one?

What do you get when you throw in Dario Argento, Lamberto Bava, and demons? An hour and a half gore fest of blood, guts, demons, and some stupid humans. Yes, a film I had a lot of fun with.
PLOT
A group of random people go to a secret movie screening, only to find themselves trapped inside with a spreading infection of demons.
MY THOUGHTS
To say there is a high body count is an understatement. You not only get the initial death but then you get the reborn demon death. So there is a lot of blood and gore. You get eye gouging, vomiting, slicing, dicing, and a lot of teeth tearing. We even get helicopter blade slicing. I would say my favorite is when one of the women turns into a demon and a demon bursts through her back. Well done scene.
The acting is decent I guess. It’s an 80’s horror movie and not the greatest acting. I think the dubbing is a little distracting. It feels like it’s all dubbed, even the actors who are speaking English seem dubbed. But dubbing is a pet peeve of mine. Just a minor irritation in Demons.
I have to say one of my favorite characters is Tony the Pimp. He has a good head on his shoulders and knows what to do to survive. Too bad other people’s stupidity kills him.
Demons starts with a nervous looking woman, Cheryl, getting free tickets to the Metropol for an unknown movie. She gets her friend Kathy to skip class and go to the Metropol.
In the lobby there is a display with a motorcycle and a dummy holding a sword and this really cool looking demon mask. Of course a woman grabs the mask playfully and puts it on. Tony yells at her and when she takes off the mask it cuts her cheek.
The movie starts and four people are checking out this decrepit building at night. They find a book belonging to Nostradamus and a mask that looks just like the one in the lobby. One of the guys puts on the mask, despite the warning the book says not too, cutting himself as well. The guy then turns into a demon, killing his friends.
Back to the woman who scratched her face. She is in the bathroom tending to the cut, when the cut bubbles up and pops. She turns into a red eyed, bloodthirsty demon just like the guy in the movie.
The demon starts attacking other people and they eventually turn into demons as well. Panic ensues, causing people to scream and eventually getting killed. They soon realize they are trapped in the building. A small group of people barricade themselves on the balcony of the main theater room.
One by one everyone dies and changes into demons. We’re down to Cheryl and George who then goes on a killing spree using the motorcycle and sword. Eventually they both escape the theater only to find out that somehow the demons have spread outside of the theater. They are rescued by a man and his kids. The ending is kind of sad and hopeless.
Overall Demons is a decent and fun movie. With plenty of gore to satisfy anyone. I would say I’m even interested in the movie within the movie. Can we get that made please? On a side note, I would love to get a replica of the demon mask. Minus the demonic aspect of course. LOL. This movie is a must for any Argento, Bava, or basically anyone who likes the gore. There are two sequels Demons 2 and The Church.

- The building used for the exteriors of the Metropol theater still stands in Berlin. It’s a club called Goya that’s been host to several horror conventions thanks to its appearance in this film.
- The name of the cinema (Metropol) can be seen as a building in the first Silent Hill video game.
- Was supposed to be a trilogy by Dardano Sacchetti, but the third movie The Church was totally rewritten with a new director Michele Soavi.
- The idea to have the demon’s eyes glow in the film came to Bava on set, who said when filming a scene where the demons approach the camera involved the actors wearing refractive paper which caused the effect.

I've been playing this stupid game for 11 years. 11 damn years this game has had me addicted and I love it... the small and large patches, the stupid mechanical bugs that would drop every time a new hero is out, the broken lore (who cares give me the hats).
But if there's one thing I don't like, it's these bullshit account buyers.
Today I got to experience something I hadn't seen before. Watching a friend play a turbo game where not 1.... but 3 players on the Radiant side were clear account buyers!! Three of them. 2 in one party, 1 in the other. To balance this out, they were put up against a leader-board ranked #2000 SEA player on Dire side (who absolutely thumped them).
This is becoming very common in casual games (Turbo etc) - I have been noticing that these same players who are purchasing boosted accounts have also played in ranked. One I re-checked earlier this week had even de-ranked from Immortal to low Ancient in like 2 months. Funny to think about, trash always ends up in the gutter... but I do feel for those people who are playing ranked games and do have this kind of crap happen.
This kind of thing needs to be looked at a lot more seriously, I remember tracking these kind of players in SEA on Overwolf when it was playing ranked - although this escalation is going to continue to leave a negative impact on the overall gaming experience, leading to unfair match ups and frustration for those who play the game legitimately.
To make matters worse, the accounts that I have checked and reported are mostly still active. Many I've come across even have thousands worth of cosmetics in their accounts.

My first dm has a short campaign prepared and I want to show them that I’ve gotten better at the game in the last year, but he’s a very tough dm. In our previous(my first ever) campaign I went through four characters by the time we were level 5(the dm allowed us to make our new character at the same level as the character who died) and it was difficult to scrape by in a fight. I need a good level 3 character who is strictly built using what is provided in the players handbook. This character cannot be a rogue of any kind because even though I like playing them this dm does not allow sneak attack damage, making rogues basically shiny fighters with a rogues cunning action and no fighting style instead of a proper rogue. I’d prefer a character who can greatly benefit from a feat that allows for healing, as I want to help keep my party alive as opposed to solely hitting things. I’d also prefer a martial build with a very human humanoid race, creatures like kobolds and such are stated in the campaign as attracting attention and I’d rather not deal with that handicap.

Sea of Thieves is my FAVORITE game, but unfortunately most weekends are my busiest days at work so I’ve never been able to participate before. I had such an incredible time and have all the kind pirates I didn’t meet to thank for it.
When I logged on last night I planned to work with the Order of Souls to get to lv 50, but just as I was checking out my ship’s new cosmetics I noticed a bunch of crates in the water. I quickly put up a flag with the Merchant Alliance and began collecting them.. And there were enough crates to get me to lv 3 IMMEDIATELY! The person who left them behind ALSO left behind a lv 5 Merchant Alliance flag!! I couldn’t believe it!
But it gets better
I purchased a few voyages and set out to get to lv 50. I was pretty excited, as I haven’t actually done any Merchant Alliance voyages before! It was a pretty quick and easy job. As I was sailing back to turn in my pig and chicken, the servers merged.
When I got back to the outpost, there were LOADS of crates sitting right by the Merchant. I couldn’t believe my luck and quickly loaded them on my to ship!! Lv 4!!
I was getting tired so I thought I might just sail to next closest outpost and sell everything. As I take sail I pass the sovereigns and notice a whole lot of shine. I quickly drop my anchor to turn, and wouldn’t you know it… EVEN MORE CRATES!!!! LEVEL 5!!! I’ve never even had so much treasure on my ship while solo slooping before!!
It took 2 in-game full days for me to finish selling everything I ended up getting for the Merchant Alliance. I’m so grateful for the Pirates who were feeling kind enough to leave that stuff out. It must’ve taken ages to get!!
To finish off my night, I sailed to Reapers to sell the Lv 5 flag that I found in the beginning of my session. There were Lv 5 Reapers there selling, so I just assumed they’d take me out. It was the end of my session and I already got a lot more gold than I thought I would, so I didn’t mind. As I approached them, someone sailed their boat away and two of them waited on the island for me. I played my accordion and told them I meant no harm and was just there to sell my flag. I was surprised that they believed and trusted me!! They let me do so.
I always like to clown around before logging off, so while their buddy worked on sailing the ship back I sat in the middle of the Reaper’s tent as a Baker’s Barrel to wait for them.
I think they were still on edge because they stopped at the entrance of the tent while holding chests. One of them said
“You know we can see you, right?”
Oh no. The barrel is too suspicious. To show them I meant no harm, I switched to the emote where you cut the cake on top of the barrel. That was the right move. I didn’t say a word but after I switched to that emote, they came in and began selling their things. Each time they left to get more stuff, I’d switch to a different emote when they came back.
At the end of it, one of them called out “Goodbye, human” as they sailed away.
This last bit has nothing to do with me leveling up to become a pirate legend or getting a lot of treasure. But it was still a pretty fun interaction and it felt pretty good to be trusted.

- After my queue dried up, I abandoned all hope to get any GOOD match with my current profile. I had good times when the profile was new. I am delighted that my completely useless Diamond subscription (one month) finally expired and won't give those f***ers any more money in the future.
- That being said, I'm just trying things out now to see if any woman actually reads the bio, is interested in whatever I wrote (swipes right), and reacts to it in a meaningful way.

Hello fellow DMs and Players! I hereby present a personal story that I "stumbled" upon recently, I'm too deep in a bubble of good playing and good DM-ing that I must admit this is my first time telling a RPG horror story. It's nothing new, surely most of you had a similar experience but I need to share it to unload it from me.
So here it goes.
Last week me and my wife were in a fair and there was few tables to try and play Dungeons and Dragons, welcoming both seasoned players and newcomers. We join a table and another couple tag along. Me and my wife are the most experienced ones, the other couple was interested in playing but they didn't have an active group.
The DM gives us the character sheets to choose from. All the basic characters from Player's Handbook made with common race choiches (as example: gnome mage, dwarf cleric, half-orc barbarian and so on). I let the newcomers and my wife choose first, and I choose the last class to adhere to a most-functional 4-player party. Here's the composition:
- Gnome Mage (can't remember subclass)
- Half-Elf Fighter (Battle Master Fighter)
- Half-Elf Bard (College of Lore)
- Dwarven Cleric (Life Domain) [my character]
Maybe not the best party, but down we go!
I start to look more in deep at my character, what spells the DM has chosen and boy oh boy.
(Premise: the following chapter is more a personal taste, rather than a common knowledge/truth) Starting from cantrips (Sacred Flame, Guidance and Spare The Dying) which in my opinion is not optimal, but could be fine I guess. Then going to 1-st level (Healing spells ok, but no Inflicts wounds and no Bane, because, as the DM said: "You're a life domain cleric, those are not spells for a life domain"). And then going for 2-nd level with great spells like "Enhance Ability" or "Prayer of Healing" which I guess in his opinion would benefit a lot my character and the others for a introductive fighting session, and I can understand it in a certain way, but I think these can be situational.
The bard spells were not better, but I can't remember what she got.
The first fight goes rather normally, a bunch of enemies emerging from a hole in the ground. We took some hits, but managed to get the best of the enemies.
The second fight, is what has started making me realize that we were fighting against the DM. And also that we didn't choose to do the exact things he probably wanted us to do (yes, I could use Prayer of Healing between fights, or even Enhance Ability / Aid but I wasn't concentrated on having the most efficient way to perform in a 40 minutes session)
We face a boss-type of what we fighted above ground and a mage-type of the same enemy.
He, confidentially, shared the enemy boss with me because he understood I am a seasoned player and DM and, without using the knowledge to metaplay, I looked it online. The enemy was gaining temporary hit points after every hit with one of his weapons, and was attacking with both weapons every turn, mmmh ok. Also he said to a bystander that the enemy was HEALING after every attack. That's not what temporary hit points do, as I can remember.
Then he got few crits and on one, as I was standing up to fit my shirt in my pants, he moved the dice (I suppose he was thinking I was checking on him) and quickly went to do something else. So even fudging the rolls? Nice one.
After all of this, with us moving here and there to attack, he stated that we were in a straight line and with the enemy mage he casted a Lightning Bolt both knocking me and the fighter unconscious. Our bard and mage couldn't do anything much, so a total annihilation was the only thing remaining.
I think that this attitude is not beneficial in finding new players for your game, but who knows.
TL; DR: For an introductive session the DM prepared character sheets that were in my opinion less than sub-optimal and then straight up cheated to kill all the party.

Essentially, I just noticed a bunch of posts that asked “What if the Shun Dynasty survived?”, and wanted to answer the question. However, all those posts are usually years old, and so I figured just making a post with my idea for how that would go would be better. You’re free to give your responses to how realistic or unrealistic you think it’d be.
it’s based off a challenge post, requesting the challenged make the Shun survive and prosper into the 20th century.
Alright, so, starting from the Battle of Shanhai Pass where the Shun properly began to collapse (which was right after they came to notoriety. One year dynasty, and all).
The Ming Emperor never puts through the effort to grant nobility to his generals to secure their loyalty, so when Wu Sangui is offered a title of Shun Nobility by Li Zicheng, seeing his loyalty as important (as historical), he agrees.
However, instead of preemptively executing Sangui’s father under the assumption he had denied his offer, he instead waits for Sangui. Sangui had intended to defect to Zicheng historically, and thus does so in this timeline without the death of his father.
The Shun-Ming force under Sangui defeats Qing Regent Dorgon’s force (which would still attack, seeing Ming forces disorganized logistically after the fall of Peking).
For the sake of the scenario, Dorgon is totally routed, and his army of 60,000 men is annihilated, giving the Northern Wall a breather from Qing raids, and thus the Shun as well. The Qing, having taken a significant loss at the Battle of Shanhai Pass, took a brief point of capitulation to regroup. Obviously, the Shun, still battling the Southern Ming, lack the strength to actually re-vassalize the Manchus, and thus agree to the small period of peace.
Dorgon would be stripped of regency, and likely killed for his massive failure. His co-regent, Jirgalang would be left with most power, but he was dis-interested in political authority, so would probably concede to Dorgon’s main rival, Hooge. Dorgon’s OTL wise administrative reforms, which integrated the Han Chinese into civil service at the time, never occurred. In the short term, this makes the Qing have more loyal subordinates. In the long term, this cripples the Qing’s administrative capabilities, especially given this was the 17th century.
Meng Qiaofeng and Wu Sangui, cooperating with Li Zicheng, manage to defeat a Ming Loyalist force in Shaanxi of 40,000 men (smaller than our timeline due to greater Shun cohesion), thus securing control of Northern China for the time being, as the Southern Ming continue to squabble amongst themselves over legitimacy in the south as a result of the last Emperor’s suicide.
Zhang Xiaozheng’s Sichuan revolt is an opportunity for Li Zicheng, who is able to invade the so-called “Xi Dynasty” and take it for himself, continuing to move south against the Ming like the Qing did in our own timeline, conquering Henan province whilst the Sichuan campaign continues.
Meanwhile, for the sake of the scenario, we’ll assume Li Zicheng doesn’t die until 1674. Details on his death are messy, and reports mostly assume he died due to poor conditions, which wouldn’t exist given his presence in the heavenly palace (or, some claim he didn’t die at all until that year). So Zicheng will see through the conquest of the Southern Ming, keeping the Shun Dynasty stable for the foreseeable future.
The Shun have an easier time working with local Han Chinese, and thus conquer the south slightly faster. The Xi Dynasty’s remnants still puppeteer the Ming court with their military influence, and thus the situation goes about as badly. Mirroring the KMT, the Ming flee to Taiwan and Burma to escape Shun forces, whilst the Qing are still trying to re-organize, lacking many of our timeline’s defectors, who instead go to the largely-victorious Shun.
Same as our timeline, disputes between the Ming and Burma result in the Burmese forcing the Ming out, and handing over the Emperor to the Shun. This keeps the southwestern border secure, and the Shun eliminate most Ming remnants, bar the Ming Loyalist Koxinga. So I’d personally model it after Taiwan’s real life land reform, which focused on doing so effectively and ensuring high yields were kept. If the land reform didn’t do enough, it’d have catastrophic effects later down the line, and if it went too far (like in, say, Zimbabwe), the Shun would likely collapse, given the fragility of early dynasties.

As, to be frank, given the butterfly effect, I have absolutely no idea how they would be named.
This also means an assumption of no succession disputes amongst the Shun, but I don’t think that’s too extreme.

As a result of Zicheng’s land reform, there would be a massive boost in agricultural productivity. Now, with China directly connected to Russian Siberia (which currently mostly had to ship food from Russia proper), it would be able to make massive gains economically. This probably wouldn’t have much impact on Siberia’s development, but it does improve Sino-Russian relations.
As for western conquests, I believe it’s likely Li II, seeing the prosperity of the dynasty, and its successful conquests of Mongolia and Manchuria (which would massively reduce raids into China proper, much to its benefit), would turn west with similar goals- stopping banditry.
I see no reason why the Shun would fail to conquer the Dzungar Khanate or Tibet. Now, the question is if the Shun would do the Dzungar genocide of the Qing. However, as genocide was far more common at this time, and the Shun weren’t historically very pacifistic, it’s likely it would happen. Albeit, more Dzungar may survive, thus having a slight ethnic impact on modern day Chinese Turkestan (albeit minimal in the political aspect, as Sinkiang has always been ethnically distinct from China, staying so in this timeline).
I can’t see the Han Chinese attempting to conquer Burma, as they never had issues with them. All their wars of direct conquest would be about preventing future raids, which Burma never had done. The Qing mainly attempted to conquer Burma out of sheer pride over the Shan states. Although we could argue the Shun Dynasty may still see Burma claiming ’its territory’ as a slight against the Shun, since I can control their policy, I’d just stop them from sparking war over it. Invading Burma from China is a hassle given the terrain, and just hurts Shun prestige and finances in the long term.
Li II would oversee the end of the Dzungar conquest, and a stable China with great economic growth, then is succeeded in the early 18th century by Li III. Now comes the conflict of Confucian and middle-class interests, which Li III would have to handle. Would Li III be able to do so? We’ll have to assume, given the point of the scenario.
Li III is assassinated by a reactionary in the court due to taking the side of the middle class. As a result, Li IV cracks down intensely upon Confucian bureaucrats, pushing for a naval expansion akin to the Yongle Emperor of the Ming (from which the Shun would see as their ‘father dynasty,’ with Li Zicheng wanting to rule alongside the House of Hong historically).
Li IV is able to make the Chinese fleet far more expansive, and with business interests, a large merchant fleet is created. The Chinese establish overseas tributaries, primarily in Indonesia and India.
This also means a far larger Chinese population in Malaya, as de-facto chinese colonies begin to form in Malacca and Sarawak. Meanwhile, the Korean Turtleboat (IRONCLADS, in the 17th century. Who would miss out on that?) would become a staple of the expansive Shun fleet, which manages to drive Japanese pirates off the Shun eastern coast for the time being.

However, as Confucianism still held dominance, China would be a rather centralized federation in structure, and similar to Meiji Japan, the Emperor would still hold dominance, but the parliament would be able to hold sway over a great number of domestic matters. It’d be far more centralized than Meiji Japan, which had the historical clan and provincial structures to justify a federal system, but I digress.
Leading into the 19th century, China would see increased trade with Europeans, seeing the Dutch and British become far more intertwined trading partners. As a result of its trade with Europe, and increasingly liberal system, China would act as a British ally in East-Asia. With Chinese ultranationalism and reactionary influences not holding precedence like they did under the Qing around this time, the opium wars wouldn’t happen.
The Shun weren’t an ‘easy picking’ like the Indian states or OTL Qing, and have a liberalized enough trading system that the East India Company doesn’t feel its hand forced. As a result, the Opium Wars never happen. Although, a number of conflicts would occur with their old enemy, the Dutch, over influence in Indonesia.
The Shun would find an interesting ally in the Ottoman Empire, who held influence over the Sultanate of Aceh in Sumatra, and would aim to expel the Dutch from Indonesia as well. The Chinese, holding Malacca and Sarawak, would contest the Dutch in Java and South Sumatra. Wars over Sulawesi and Java are likely, which China gradually wins, establishing its rule over the islands (to a varying degree, with Java likely only being a tributary, or series of tributaries, and not a proper overseas territory, which China would hold in Malaya and Borneo, plus possibly Sulawesi).
Chinese influence in India, likely working with native forces with Hui intermediaries working to establish keen relationships with Bengal, Kalat, and Mughal remnants, to work to expel the Dutch, British, Danish, French, and other powers from the subcontinent. A proxy conflict may develop, with the Chinese being so aligned to the Mughals, the European powers may approach the Marathas in support, resulting in the Mughal-Maratha Wars lasting far longer in this timeline.
An alternate impact of this timeline is thus no British Raj. The Chinese would firmly contest British influence in India, and although they’d have good relations, they wouldn’t be good enough to agree to something like, say, a partition. India remains a series of princely states under loose Mughal and Maratha rule.

Now, Li VIII is the current reigning Emperor in the era, being succeeded by Li IX at the end of the century.
The Emperor now, at the turn of the century, rather than seeing an empire falling apart at the seams marked by a rebellion that results in a massive foreign invasion of China, which the Chinese are unable to resist, we see a massive industrial power. Dominating Southeast Asia, and rivaling British influence in South Asia, the Great Shun are unrivaled in East Asia. The Japanese, although attempting to assault the Shun in 1895 over disputes in the Korean Empire, are decisively defeated in the Battle of Tsushima by the Imperial Chinese Fleet, and Meiji is humiliated. Whether Japan falls to Leftism in the 20th century, or simply returns to isolation, under potentially another Shogunate, is unknown.
China is poised to expand its domain yet further. Possibly, instead of spending the 20th century thrown into warlordism, and diplomatic isolation until the 70s, they instead spend it as a century of prosperity, possibly expanding their domain into Siberia, as they may even begin to look to Southeast Africa or Southwest Asia. Although the Germans may be their allies for now, even they fear the Chinese to an extent

it’s based off a challenge post, requesting the challenged make the Shun survive and prosper into the 20th century.
Alright, so, starting from the Battle of Shanhai Pass where the Shun properly began to collapse (which was right after they came to notoriety. One year dynasty, and all).
The Ming Emperor never puts through the effort to grant nobility to his generals to secure their loyalty, so when Wu Sangui is offered a title of Shun Nobility by Li Zicheng, seeing his loyalty as important (as historical), he agrees.
However, instead of preemptively executing Sangui’s father under the assumption he had denied his offer, he instead waits for Sangui. Sangui had intended to defect to Zicheng historically, and thus does so in this timeline without the death of his father.
The Shun-Ming force under Sangui defeats Qing Regent Dorgon’s force (which would still attack, seeing Ming forces disorganized logistically after the fall of Peking).
For the sake of the scenario, Dorgon is totally routed, and his army of 60,000 men is annihilated, giving the Northern Wall a breather from Qing raids, and thus the Shun as well. The Qing, having taken a significant loss at the Battle of Shanhai Pass, took a brief point of capitulation to regroup. Obviously, the Shun, still battling the Southern Ming, lack the strength to actually re-vassalize the Manchus, and thus agree to the small period of peace.
Dorgon would be stripped of regency, and likely killed for his massive failure. His co-regent, Jirgalang would be left with most power, but he was dis-interested in political authority, so would probably concede to Dorgon’s main rival, Hooge. Dorgon’s OTL wise administrative reforms, which integrated the Han Chinese into civil service at the time, never occurred. In the short term, this makes the Qing have more loyal subordinates. In the long term, this cripples the Qing’s administrative capabilities, especially given this was the 17th century.
Meng Qiaofeng and Wu Sangui, cooperating with Li Zicheng, manage to defeat a Ming Loyalist force in Shaanxi of 40,000 men (smaller than our timeline due to greater Shun cohesion), thus securing control of Northern China for the time being, as the Southern Ming continue to squabble amongst themselves over legitimacy in the south as a result of the last Emperor’s suicide.
Zhang Xiaozheng’s Sichuan revolt is an opportunity for Li Zicheng, who is able to invade the so-called “Xi Dynasty” and take it for himself, continuing to move south against the Ming like the Qing did in our own timeline, conquering Henan province whilst the Sichuan campaign continues.
Meanwhile, for the sake of the scenario, we’ll assume Li Zicheng doesn’t die until 1674. Details on his death are messy, and reports mostly assume he died due to poor conditions, which wouldn’t exist given his presence in the heavenly palace (or, some claim he didn’t die at all until that year). So Zicheng will see through the conquest of the Southern Ming, keeping the Shun Dynasty stable for the foreseeable future.

I'm generally a huge nerd. I like things like video games, anime, movies, and sci fi. I've also been playing guitar for 18 years and singing for 7 years! Personal health is super important to me too. I workout just about every day. Gotta do what I can to stay in shape!

I was driving home from work this morning and doing some reflecting because night shifts always make me kind of emotional, and it was really cool to see the way this game has followed me up to this point in my life.
I'd love to hear about when and how you started playing, if/why you've had a hiatus, and anything else you'd like to share about how the site has impacted you.
I made my account when I was 6 with my mom on our dial-up internet and was OBSESSED. Played every goddamn day. Had the stuffed animals, the shirts, the magazine subscription, the pocket neopets, begged my parents to sign the form for the boards when I was 11, you name it. I grew away from it when I started high school because I really started struggling with who I was as a person, and the thought of everyone finding out I liked playing a "kid game" did not help.
I briefly came back for a couple months in 2016, then another hiatus until last month after it just popped into my mind one day at work.
When I logged in for the first time since then, I noticed that during my 2016 comeback, I had added to my user lookup that I was in nursing school. It was just SUCH a weird and almost surreal experience to read that, while on break at my dream job, coming up on 5 whole ass years of being a nurse, and actively living the life that I was hoping and praying for with everything in me the last time I had laid eyes on that page.
In a way, it makes me wish I could travel back in time to visit the 6 year old version of me sitting at that desktop with the dial up internet and say "Hey, in 20 years, you are going to be sitting at your computer just like this, everything will be okay, and you're still going to love this game just as much".

2023.03.27 15:23 StormRose666 Sad for a kind of silly reason
Just a small vent because I feel like maybe people here will understand me a little better. To keep it short: Basically I spend around 67hours in the sims4, just perfecting my sims and their house, i put a lot of love and attention to detail into it, made each of them their own room, a super cool kitchen, dining room, spent a lot of time on the garden to, and was incredibly excited to play in this world for the first time after i was done. My laptop was pretty old at that point already though and had trouble running the game, so i thought it'd be a great idea to do a factory reset since there was a lot of unnecessary stuff on it too that was making it run slower that i didnt wanna filter everything out by hand. I made sure to save everything i wanted to keep, all the games etc, and i noticed that the sims4 couldn't be saved to the steam cloud, so i got someone to help me put all the data on an external drive to make sure it wont go lost. Well apparently they made a mistake and everything is gone, with no way for me to get it back. Everyone just told me to just do it again, recreate it, and that it's not a big deal, that there's other people who have bigger problems and stuff. I dont know, it probably shouldn't make me as sad as it does but i was so excited to finally play in that house i spent a good 2 weeks building, and now i kind of cant bring myself to start a new save file. I know that it's a small thing and i kinda feel bad because im so sad about it, and i guess i should be happy that that's my biggest problem right now. Well anyways i just wanted to vent a little to make me feel better and kinda get that outta my system, thanks for reading all that, i hope you're having an amazing day 😊🌻

- I care more about your personality than I do your D&D experience.
- My campaigns are 100% inclusive. You are expected to be Fem, POC, and LGBT+ friendly. Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any concerns.
- If you read to this point, please add the keyword "heroic misfits" to your answer to the first question 'Simple Introduction'.
- A mixture of Dimension 20 and high school whimsical. My campaign can be serious if it reaches the point, but there are moments for comedic relief.
- I value the rules of cool more than RAW or RAI. If I say I'll allow it, that's the end of the story. No backseat DMing in my campaign. But I do accept comments or constructive criticism tho.
- I'll integrate your character's story into the campaign. One way or another. Since this is a short adventure (6-8 sessions), there might not be enough time to solve everything. But we can definitely create a beautiful character development together.
- This module is PG13 but still, I want my players to have a certain level of maturity, hence the age restriction.
- There will be no attempted rape, sexual assault, PVP, or murderhoboing in my campaigns. Adventurers attempting to do so will be immediately kicked from the campaign.

- You will create a 5th-level characters
- Stats will use variant point buys (15, 14, 13, 12, 10, and 18)
- 1 starter feat
- No starting equipment, you'll be in a school so it'll be a bit different
- All races and classes from official books are allowed
- Flavor is free
- Pre-Tasha subclasses will receive some additional features (or straight-up rework) to adjust their standard up to post-Tasha's subclasses (you can choose to not use it). For example, pre-Tasha sorcerer's subclasses will have their bloodline spells the same as what Clockwork Soul has.
- Characters who choose their background with a given feat will not receive a starter feat if they choose to take the feat from those backgrounds. For example, backgrounds from Strixhaven and Spelljammer books.
- Each martial class will receive some extra feature and optional feature from my 3rd party content, Mercy's Manual of Martial Maneuvers.
