The best fucking food ever

Anything about ice cream! Ice cream is the best food. Just try and think of another food more universally liked than ice cream. Doesn't exist. Since icecream is now private, I'm starting this subreddit for those of us who love this delicious treat and want to talk about it

2023.04.01 10:25 dg2thousand Does the puck have to be over the red line for icing to be waved off?

My buddy & I got into a heated debate over whether the puck has to be crossed the red line for it to be icing. Obviously the rule states that if the puck is dumped in behind the red line it is deemed icing, but his argument is that this is not always the case. He says sometimes the puck could be a foot behind the red line and the linesman won’t call icing. I just think the game happens so fast that we can’t really tell that they get the puck & stick over the line for icing even thought they do. I don’t believe the refs would waive it off if they saw that the puck was dumped in behind the red line. They might make a mistake here & there although he says it happens quite often, but I don’t think refs give players leeway with dumping the puck especially in games where it could be crucial.
What do you guys think & what’s your opinion on icings? Do you guys think there is a certain amount of leeway players get when it comes to icing? Or do you think the linesman just miss it from time to time?

2023.04.01 10:24 MeatballDom AMA Announcement: r/History is pleased to announce that distinguished Historian and Archaeologist Graham Hancock will be joining us for an AMA later today

This is not the AMA thread, be on the look out for it later! You'll be able to ask your questions then and there!
Hancock speculates that an advanced ice age civilization was destroyed in a cataclysm, but that its survivors passed on their knowledge to hunter-gatherers, giving rise to the earliest known civilizations of ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, and Mesoamerica.[5][6]
Born in Edinburgh, Hancock studied sociology at Durham University before working as a journalist, writing for a number of British newspapers and magazines. His first three books dealt with international development, including Lords of Poverty (1989), a well-received critique of corruption in the aid system. Beginning with The Sign and the Seal in 1992, he shifted focus to speculative accounts of human prehistory and ancient civilisations, on which he has written a dozen books, most notably Fingerprints of the Gods and Magicians of the Gods. His ideas have been the subject of several films, including the Netflix series Ancient Apocalypse (2022), and Hancock makes regular appearances on the podcast The Joe Rogan Experience to discuss them. He has also written two fantasy novels and in 2013 delivered a controversial TEDx talk promoting the use of the psychoactive drink ayahuasca.

2023.04.01 10:18 EducatedGuess6 19 [M4F] Anywhere/Washington Just moved and looking for someone to chat with to help with the isolation

Hi! As the title says, I just moved recently and don't know anyone here. I'm not really looking for meet-ups at all, more just people to talk to so I have some form of socialization throughout my day. I don't have any preferences on age at all, or location, I just really enjoy meeting new people. My interests are reading, hiking, movies, some gaming (mostly calmer things like stardew valley), cooking, and baking. I've also started working out over the past few months. Even if none of those are things you find super interesting, I'd love to hear about your interests and things you enjoy! I'm not looking particularly for anything short or long term, I'm super flexible when it comes to that. I'm open to chatting often throughout the day, or just once in awhile, and any kind of relationship, platonic, or more. If you decide you'd like to talk, any sort of ice breaker of name, age, interests, fun facts about yourself, or even just "hey" are all fine :)
If physical descriptions are important for you, I'm 6'2" and in good shape, though fairly skinny, I have green eyes and light brown hair.

I only purchased the game a week ago, and am really wanting to get Glen rice. I logged in today and got 1 of the catch up packs but I need 5 more. Does anyone know if there are specific challenges to earn catch up packs? Can't seem to find any aside from the 2 daily log ins for Saturday and Sunday

2023.04.01 10:12 darkwinter95 Anyone else just say fuck it and let your hands take the full brunt of the job?

I've been on the job a few weeks, at first my hands were in rough shape, kept getting a bunch of small cuts mostly from grabbing silverware and my thumb started peeling pretty bad too, but now my hands have mostly healed up and are just dry. I have some okeeefe's working hands cream which I use occasionally but not often, also I brought gloves in but found they just feel like they get in the way for me so I just end up doing everything barehand unless I have fresh cuts which I don't feel like exposing to stinging ketchup water.
One thing I do always wear now though is a waterproof apron, I didn't bother with them at first because the ones we have are finnicky and always coming undone on me but it does help keeping me dry, I'm used to getting wet but I worry about my phone in my pocket.

2023.04.01 10:11 flowwitham My skin has never been this dry

I have just started skincare routine using following products:
Cetaphil gentle cleanser Followed by cosrx essence and all in one cream Beauty of joseon suncream
However my skin feels so dry. I often top of it with vaseline, but lately after 2-3 hrs , I feel the dryness.
Any recommendations on moisturizer I should use with the above combination?
Also I see tiny red bumps on my skin. Could it be purging?

2023.04.01 10:08 alquimistablanco New OST songs in first two film episodes (with timestamps)

There are about 17 new songs in the first two broadcast episodes of the First Kiss Never Ends film. Names are not official and are made up as placeholders. All info updated on OST spreadsheet as well.
Episode 1
Episode 2
I included some short "fanfares" because S3's "Cheating!" got an official OST release.
Episode 1 had a lot more tracks used, but episode 2 got some very long plays. Let me know if you spot any errors/omissions.

2023.04.01 10:06 TessaTV Sometimes I hate the very idea of happiness

For nearly half of my life, I've been putting in the work. I've been going to therapy: DBT, CBT, EMDR, IFS, the list goes on. I've been taking medication. I've been inpatient, intensive outpatient. I've done yoga, breathing techniques, grounding activities. I've tried ice cubes and rubber bands to stop self-harming. I've journaled, I've spent time with loved ones, I've read self-help books. I've done all of these things genuinely and hopefully and painfully. And each time I do, everyone assures me that it will work. That if I just keep trying and "put in the effort" I'll be happy in the future. Happiness for me is just the reduction of my most severe symptoms. But I know it's not like that for other people. People don't want to see me at my baseline of wellness. Even when I'm exhausted and proud of everything I've done, I'm not good unless I reach this vision of happiness that I can't even imagine. It feels like there's always been this huge weight on me, this pressure to reach that intangible goal. And anything short of that is a personal failure. I have to relentlessly keep trying, try harder, do more. Their experience with happiness is just not for me, no matter how much I wish it was. I wish people could accept that. I wish I wasn't looked at with the goal of being cured, and instead looked at with the goal of being manageably sick. Some people can only survive and endure, and might never "live" like everyone else. It's not okay, but that's the reality. I wish that was good enough. It's the best i can do.

2023.04.01 10:04 pettymisdemeanor Big storm, downed trees, need a little advice…

Hello! I live in MN and the weather events of the last 24 hours have meant a huge blizzard for all of us. Got off work late to find a very large section of a tree in my backyard had fallen off, hit the wooden fence and broken in two pieces with one very large section in my yard and one very large section in my neighbors yard. Power lines are pulled down between them and draped on the fence but still working as our house hasn’t lost power. There is a shit ton of snow and ice in the ground and obviously tree crews aren’t going to suiting up to chop up a few large branches anytime soon. We’re in contact with our utility about downed lines, the storm is still raging, our neighbor is super chill so no worries there. I’m just trying to figure out the order of operations here in terms of who to hit up about what. I was planning on starting a claim with my homeowner’s insurance for the fence damage. Any sage wisdom out there? I’m a first time homeowner.

2023.04.01 09:54 m-ag-da_ I need help

I need help
My hair is just refusing to cooperate. It has like three different textures. It's a very weak 2a, almost straight in the front and in the back it's a solid 2b with two perfectly straight hair strands. I know my hair isn't straight because it poofs up when I brush it while dry.
When I try to focus on my waves, my hair acts like straight hair, but when I treat it like straight hair it acts like wavy hair and it just looks terrible in both of these cases.
My hair specifics
Dyed? Yes, dark plum brown. Texture: Fine Density: Thick Curl type/pattern: Idek anymore, but I guess 2a/2b, with one or two perfectly straight strands in the back Porosity: Naturally low porosity, but maybe a bit higher now that it's dyed Scalp: Greasy
My current hair routine Disclaimer: I have just started this routine so it might take some time for any results to actually show, so my problems might be solved in a month or so. However, I highly doubt it, since my main focus when picking out those products was the fact that I just freshly dyed my hair, but I also needed something to combat my greasy scalp while not disturbing the dye too much.
- In the shower, I use the whole Ecotherapy Revive series by Maria Nila in the recommended order. So far, I noticed that it has made my hair slightly softer.
  1. Shampoo
  2. Masque (10 mins)
  3. Conditioner (3-5 mins)
- After I get out of the shower I use a non-drying styling mouse (my friend whose curls last a long time recommended it to me) and scrunch it in my hair while it's still wet. After that I airdry my hair, since that has given me the most decent results so far. I now wear a bonnet to sleep and it's majorly helping with frizz. Absolute game changer.
What I have tried and didn't work - Finger curling - Curl creams - Making curls with my hairbrush - Diffusing my hair, hence why I airdry it now - The bowl method
Other stuff - Right now I wash my hair once a week, but considering that my shampoo is sulfate free and my hair gets greasy around day 3-4, I am thinking of washing my hair twice a week instead (no more than that, though, because I am lazy). That will most likely ruin my hair dye quicker, but I don't plan on maintaining it and I want to go back to my natural hair color at some point. - One method for waves that I actually do like is braiding my hair and sleeping with the braids. But it kind of feels like cheating and it also only lasts for a day, and I would want something that lasts longer. - I don't know if age matters when it comes to my hair, but in case it does, I am 17.

2023.04.01 09:54 jayalaves My personal journey with rosacea – where to go next?

My personal journey with rosacea – where to go next?
It's been a few years since I was professionally diagnosed with rosacea, and since then I've self-experimented with a variety of methods to improve my condition.
The original dermatologist recommended me Rosiced, a cream that worked very well for me, and I started to observe results within a week. That kept it relatively under control for some time.
I moved countries (Germany → Spain) and came to see a different dermatologist because I eventually ran out of Rosiced and the rosacea was reappearing. Not only that, but I also developed a tiny sebaceous cyst, which at this point can only be removed through surgery but it doesn't bother me.
It took a long time to get an appointment, so in the meantime I decided to experiment with attending an aesthetic center, and I get a facial clean up every month or so, plus they educated me on establishing a skincare routine that I apply morning and night. Essentially, cleaning up and hydrating.
I finally managed to see a dermatologist, and she recommended me to apply a fusidic acid based cream for a week on the lump, and a doxycycline antibiotic treatment for 8-12 weeks, which appears to be a standard treatment these days for rosacea.
My skin is certainly in "better" condition, compared to a few months ago. It's softer, more hydrated, and closer in skin tone to the rest of my body. However, I do still experience notable ups and downs with the rosacea itself. I'm 3 weeks of antibiotic away from finishing the treatment, and I maintain a lifestyle that should favor proper skin health (i.e. exercise, clean diet, meditation, hygiene...).
So far, I've learned that:
  • Having an adequate skincare hygiene routine is essential
  • Fusidic acid didn't work for me to get rid of the lump, might consider surgery in near future
  • Rosiced cream was most effective to reduce redness
  • Gradually improving your lifestyle through healthier lifestyle choices obviously plays a massive role in how my skin feels, regardless of any treatment. This includes things like doing regular exercise, eating a healthy diet (rich in fiber, essentially), working on mental fitness to avoid stress, getting plenty of sleep, and drinking plenty of water.
From here, I'll plan to continue the antibiotic treatment (3 weeks remaining), my daily skincare hygiene routine, and the other lifestyle habits that contribute positively.
None of this is by any means dogma, but simply a series of learnings from direct experience and self-experimentation applied within my own lifestyle, from my own personal journey aiming to improve my condition. I share with the hope that any of it inspires others within their own journey for self improvement.
If you're going or have gone through a similar experience or any of this resonated with you, would love to hear your perspective.
In spirit of transparency, this is how my facial skin usually looks like now. I'll share new learnings as they come. Peace.
I need a haircut, I know

2023.04.01 09:53 GlitterBeach Weather, jobs, road-trip

I have to be up in a few hours to get ready for an annual road trip. I need to dump my brain somewhere.
Last words my husband said to me before going to bed: Don’t stay up too late because I want us to have a good trip tomorrow.
Currently it’s 2:32AM
I’m in the south-east. The weather is about an hour away and of course I’ve been watching it since midnight because I’m terrified of tornadoes.
I’ve sat here zoned out on the tv, I’ve researched job openings at funeral homes, I’ve read about becoming a CNA, I’ve been browsing my local obituaries to see if I know anyone. Usually I do. It’s a small town. I’m also so darn hungry. And my hair is tickling my face.
I’m newly diagnosed 38/F as of a week ago and not on meds yet.
I have never had a desire to work in a funeral home, yet I was so invested in searching for an opening. Major respect to those who work in that line of work! I don’t think I could handle it as I would be joining the families and crying and hugging them.
I’ve job hopped half my life through healthcare. I don’t stay anywhere long. I love the line of work, it’s just that my ADHD keeps me so frazzled all the time.
Icing on top of the cake: I CANNOT WORK RIGHT NOW AND I KNOW THIS. I have a teenage daughter who requires ALLLLLLL of my attention at the moment and that’s why I had to quit my last job at the hospital. So why the heck am I up looking for jobs when I need to be sleeping!!!!!
Still, here I sit with my eyes burning and listening to the thunder in the distance, with my dog next to me having the occasional nightmare, looking up jobs I know I don’t want and even if I did, I can’t have them.
WHY AM I LIKE THIS!!!!
This is all new to me and I’m feeling like the walls are caving in because it all makes sense to me now. I’ve been through so many meds for disorders I never had. Just to name a few: Bipolar Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder. I’m still on a crap ton of meds that I want off of, but can’t. The withdrawals are terrible. I don’t even need them!
It was ADHD all along and not a soul thought to test me. 🥲🫠 Thanks, my first psychiatrist who went through a midlife crisis when I was under her care and got a divorce and skipped down on her patients. You ruined most of my life. Years I won’t get back because I don’t remember the first 3 years of my daughters life due to the Bipolar meds you had me on.

2023.04.01 09:45 AnalysisNegative232 GT7 new update settings for DD pro 8nm

It was serviceable pre update. 120hz is great and all but my current settings there’s absolutely no feel whatsoever. Fired up ACC and did a lap on Watkins glen, while the italia GT3 is totally different than the EVO the worlds difference in FFB was even more astounding. What’s everyone running seen all these YouTube vids praising the new physics. Like wtf you talkin bout Willis? This shit dead.

2023.04.01 09:43 lttsnoredotcom Lost bicycle helmet (green)

Hi Melbourne,
I somehow lost my bicycle helmet somewhere between getting on the train and leaving the station this evening from Flinders St to Glen Waverley (Glen Waverley line) Photo.
If anyone has seen it/found it/handed it in and can let me know, I would be abundantly grateful - thanks heaps!

2023.04.01 09:43 daj0412 friend of mine wrote a children’s story and it had an ice store/factory/museum and he wrote it “The Scoop Factory and Museum.” Should it be “The Scoop: Factory and Museum” instead with the colons?

the place is one where you can buy ice cream, make your own flavors, see how they make ice cream, and learn about the history of ice cream and ice cream from around the world.

Avocado Oil vs Olive Oil: Which is Healthier for You?
When it comes to cooking oils, there are countless options available in the market. However, two of the most popular choices are avocado oil and olive oil. Both oils have their own distinct flavor and nutritional profiles, but which one is healthier? In this blog, we will explore the differences between avocado oil and olive oil to help you make an informed decision.

Avocado Oil

Avocado oil is extracted from the fruit of the avocado tree. It is a relatively new oil in the market but has gained popularity due to its health benefits. Avocado oil is rich in monounsaturated fatty acids, which are known to reduce bad cholesterol levels in the body. Additionally, it is a good source of vitamin E, which is an antioxidant that protects the body from free radicals.
One of the key advantages of avocado oil is its high smoke point. This makes it a great choice for high-heat cooking methods such as frying and grilling. Avocado oil also has a mild, buttery flavor that pairs well with a variety of dishes.

Olive Oil

Olive oil is a staple in Mediterranean cuisine and has been used for centuries for its health benefits. It is extracted from the fruit of the olive tree and is known for its rich flavor and high nutritional value. Olive oil is a good source of monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, which are known to improve heart health and reduce the risk of chronic diseases.
Olive oil is also rich in antioxidants, such as polyphenols and vitamin E. These compounds have anti-inflammatory properties and protect the body from free radicals.
However, olive oil has a lower smoke point than avocado oil. This makes it unsuitable for high-heat cooking methods such as frying. Instead, it is best used in dressings, dips, and as a finishing oil on cooked dishes.

Avocado Oil vs Olive Oil: Which is Healthier for You?

Both avocado oil and olive oil have their own unique benefits, but which one is healthier for you? The answer ultimately depends on your individual needs and preferences.
If you are looking for an oil that can withstand high heat, then avocado oil is the way to go. Its high smoke point makes it a great choice for frying and grilling. Additionally, its mild flavor and nutritional profile make it a healthy option.
On the other hand, if you are looking for an oil that is rich in antioxidants and has a distinct flavor, then olive oil is the better choice. While it may not be suitable for high-heat cooking, it is a great option for dressings and dips.
Overall, both avocado oil and olive oil are healthy choices when used in moderation. The key is to choose an oil that works best for your cooking needs and taste preferences.
When it comes to cooking oils, there are a plethora of options available in gourmet grocery stores. Two of the most popular choices are avocado oil and olive oil, both of which are imported food products available in India to buy online. These international gourmet foods are essential ingredients in any kitchen and are widely used by professional chefs and home cooks alike.
