I see a lot of posts about old focus trees that people are dissatisfied with old focus trees, but imo, the nations with simpler focus trees are more fun to play.
Hoi gamers are really out here thinking tank and plane designers are hard; and naval warfare impossible. But they are OK with reading a short novel everytime they are about to pick a 35 day soviet focus.
Idno man. I'd rather just pick a focus to get 2 factories in 70 days and focus on playing the game.
So I more often find my self playing nations like France where the focuses usually just do one simple thing, and I usually shy away from the newer focuses where I have to balance factions on the map and balance of power and civil wars and a million buffs to my nation's leader.

Our current strategy focuses on gaining as many signatures as possible with the petition ( www.change.org/ProtectThePorkies ). A petition may seem like a symbolic step, however it is the best way to represent public opposition. We reached 1000 signatures in the first week. This may not seem like much, but keep in mind that the closest town to the mine, Wakefield, only has a population of 1700. So far, we are making excellent progress. The more signatures the petition has, the more leverage it will have in gaining local and non-local news coverage.
Highland Copper Company Inc, the Canadian company developing the mine, has stated in the most recent news stories that they will not fully greenlight the project until early 2024. This means we have time –– not much, but hopefully enough!

Here is an outline of our immediate strategy with the petition:

1) Reach 2000 signatures --- at this point, we will contact local news
2) Reach 5000 signatures --- at this point, we will spread to non-local news and begin enlisting relevant organizations as signatories to give the petition more weight; ideally we will be able to inspire the Ojibwe Nation to join us, since the Presque Isle Scenic Area is their land historically and once was home to an Ojibwe village. Their voice would be a powerful ally.
3) Reach 10,000 signatures --- now we begin enlisting celebrities as signatories... maybe not Tom Cruise, but local names who are aware of the Park and are environmentally conscious

Other objectives:

1) Expand to social media -- Twitter, Instagram, etc. It would be fantastic to find a person devoted to the cause who could take on this role.
2) Organize an in-person Day of Action at the Park -- on a Saturday or Sunday in July, August, September and October, the Park is full of visitors. If we can organize an in-person protest, combined with media coverage, it would send a very strong message, especially since such events are not common in these parts
3) Documentary film -- showing the beauty of the area and the risks that metallic sulfide mining would pose
4) Other ideas?

My name is Carter, and my great grandparents moved to America from Galicia in 1898, just as the winds of industrialisation were humming through my loyal province in our glorious last days in the Habsburg Monarchy. We left Austria because we were starving or so the story goes, which makes sense, because Galicia was the poorest province in Europe, though things were getting better.
I am a European History and Global Politics major at my University, and before deciding on those two majors I started Danube Monarchist Alliance in 2018, or 5 years ago. We have 5.8 k likes on Facebook, 643 follows on Instagram, and a few followers on Twitter. We are looking to recruit new people to join our social media team, we are really just a page that tries to push Monarchism in the Danube on social media, because we think there is untapped potential there.
I plan on moving to Vienna, Prague or Brno after Uni so I can further work in Monarchism over there, and do it in person.

As an Austrian I find this pretty hilarious, given that there is probably around 0,5% support for the restoration of the monarchy in this country. Also what is weird is that he writes that his family left a country where thy were starving (Galicia was the poorest part of the Empire) and a nation that, like many countries at the time, was strictly against LBGT people. Maybe kind of a basic complaint, but I de-tasked all my farmers during a winter and set them all to chopping trees 18 squares away from their residences. It took them a month to travel on foot over the 18 squares to the trees, then suddenly the weather turned hostile and they all went home. Similarly, a trade wagon takes two months to travel from the edge of my fog of war to the trading post that is near the center of my township. That just seems not 'correct' or realistic may be the better word for it. When I watch my tradespeople working in the trading post, it can take them 5 days just to grab a stack of pots from the nearly adjacent storehouse. Just seems the days should last a little longer than they currently do.

Hello all, I am really excited for announcement that Heroscape is coming back! Unfortunately it is bad timing for the #1 Heroscape community site Heroscapers.com as they just announced it will be at least another week before they are up and running. I just wanted to let you know Heroscape fandom is still going strong, just the discussion is spread out mostly between this sub, Discord, BoardGameGeek forums, and Heroscape.org, so I suggest everyone join at least one of the other communities. For instance did you know there are at least 8 tournaments coming up in the next 3 weeks in various cities across the country and online? If not see them listed on Heroscape.org here and try to attend.
Also as you probably know Reddit is imposing a change to API pricing that due to exceedingly high costs will pretty much kill all 3rd party apps , and so has caused a protest planned on most subreddits going dark June 12-14. We were thinking of having /Heroscape join with this as well, but in light of both the recent Renegade Studios announcement and Heroscapers.com still down, I am leaning on leaving our sub open as a place for those to have discussion. However, if enough people post here they want this sub to join the protest we will private this sub, but for now we will stay open and I suggest if you want to protest just don't go on reddit those days (especially on the official app).
