Anyone have any tips on parbaking New York pizza crusts in the Volt? Have some people coming over for dinner this weekend and with only 2 pizza napolitana attempts under my belt, not yet confident enough to bake all the pizzas from scratch.

2023.06.09 07:46 MellifluousManatee Top 10 Worst Dishes

10. J. Willy’s loaded potato pizza - Some things should not exist. This preposterous pizza is one of those things. Gordon calls it the strangest pizza he’s ever seen for good reason.
9. Mike and Nellie’s Chicken Murphy - Jeanine says it best when she describes this dish as a stew gone bad. To add insult to injury, Gordon had to smell an old, moldy carpet as he swallowed that slop.
8: Charlie’s fried ravioli - These things don’t look like they were cooked at all. Maybe Casimiro trolled Gordon by serving him raw ravioli. Seeing what an asshat he was, I wouldn’t be surprised.
7: Levanti’s stuffed banana peppers - Dino’s Carletta sauce may have been inspired by Heaven, but his stuffed banana peppers are straight from the depths of Hell. Gordon compares the dish to a donkey’s dick.
6. Mill Street Bistro’s elk medallions - Watching Napoleon complex poster boy Joe Nagy declare, “That’s a tender piece of elk” while chewing on it like a piece of shoe leather gets a laugh out of me even in these difficult times.
5: Capri colossal pizza - A supersized pizza loaded with nasty looking toppings. Not even blazed out of my mind would I have touched that steaming mess.
4: Sebastian’s New York Strip - Gordon aptly described this one as a pile of dog food. And knowing Sebastian’s idiotic ass, you just know that dog food was frozen.
3: Chappy’s gumbo - If you were to compile a list of the show’s funniest lines,“It looks like Chappy took a crappy in my gumbo” would be a contender for the top spot. I've never heard a more apt description of something in my entire life.
2: Blackberry’s chitlins shitlins - Just look at them.
1: Dillon’s every dish - Knowing every dish that came out of that hellhole had cockroaches crawling all over it before being served makes me avoid this episode like the plague.

2023.06.09 06:22 KittenKabootle23 1 day in NYC with my husband and 5 year old-tips?

My family and I are heading to New York City towards the end of July for one day. We will be staying at a resort in Pennsylvania but heading to the city for one of those days. I have a list of things I want to see and some ideas. The biggest thing is I want to keep them within the same region, I know there will be a lot of walking, and we are planning on bringing an umbrella stroller for our 5-year-old. I would like to stay in the Manhattan area, see times square, Central park, Top of the Rock, we are looking at tickets for funny girl (btw does anyone know if a kid would be entertained?) I would love to walk The Highline, and possibly glance at Cornelia Street, yes I'm a Taylor Swift fan, no, I'm not going to go stalk her up old apartment... Also, does anyone know if the Harry Potter Store is worth the long line? Plus good (cheap) pizza! I know a few of these places could take an entire day themselves, especially Central Park.
I want to keep all three of us entertained, but I want to see as much as we can. And if possible, I would like to give her an experience that she would only get in New York and not here in Ohio. Does anyone have any suggestions on traveling around the city? Are the places I listed close to each other? I planned on doing a ton more research on reddit, but with the shutdown happening on June 30th, I don't know how much I can do before then. We had a thought of parking in Jersey and taking a train into the City and using the subway and walking the whole day. But I would like to see Times Square at night, and I heard it's in advisable to ride the train after 10:00. I want to keep my child safe, and to add I am legally blind and will be walking around with a cane, I feel like my husband is going to have to babysit both of us while navigating. Are there any resources or tips or anything that anyone can suggest? A parking spot? It would be nice to drive through some neighborhoods, but we won't don't want to pay $50 to park for a day or something.
I don't know if this is still happening but years ago when I was researching New York City on this subreddit there was a company by locals where a local would take you and show you around the city, I can't remember much more than that does anyone have any idea what I might be talking about? Sorry that this post seems a little rushed, I just saw that Reddit is shutting down on the 30th, these subreddits are my main researching grounds and I wanted to make my first post as quick as possible. Thank you!
Edit: Also, if anyone could help with itinerary planning, so we can squeeze in as much as possible?
Edit again. Please be mindful, yes I know a five-year-old in a stroller is ridiculous, we live in a small town next to a smallish City and she walks pretty much everywhere she goes, we are going to New York City for the first time ever. I can not see where I am going, and my husband has to make sure I'm okay. Part of the reason that we will be bringing a stroller is a straight-up safety reason. I will not "not go to New York" just because we have different accommodations. If it were just her and my husband? She would be walking, but I feel safer knowing that she is strapped in a small stroller with thousands of people around us, instead of sitting there wondering and having no idea if she's still holding Daddy's Hand. It's less anxiety enduring and safer. Please be considerate and kind before you judge me about the way I do things with my parenting and blindness.

2023.06.09 03:00 pelatho How to train Loras effectively?

I tried training a lora for Wizard-Vicuna-13B-16F
I made a text file like with a bunch of examples, separated by \n\n\n
Each example is an example of running a command on behalf of the user.
USER: Can you open Spotify for me? ASSISTANT: Absolutely. [command=terminal "start spotify"] USER: Could you please show me the content of the current directory? ASSISTANT: Of course. [command=terminal "ls"] USER: Could you search the web for the term 'machine learning'? ASSISTANT: Sure, I can do that. [command=web_search "machine learning"] USER: Please browse the OpenAI website. ASSISTANT: Alright. [command=web_browse "https://www.openai.com"] USER: Can you show me the current system status? ASSISTANT: Sure. [command=terminal "top"] USER: Could you open the calculator? ASSISTANT: Absolutely. [command=terminal "open calculator"] USER: Please search the web for 'the best pizza recipe'. ASSISTANT: Alright. [command=web_search "the best pizza recipe"] USER: Can you check my internet connection? ASSISTANT: Sure. [command=terminal "ping google.com"] USER: Please open the Paint program. ASSISTANT: Sure. [command=terminal "start mspaint"] USER: Can you show me the IP configuration? ASSISTANT: Of course. [command=terminal "ipconfig"] USER: Could you search the web for the nearest pizza place? ASSISTANT: Sure, I can do that. [command=web_search "nearest pizza place"] USER: Please browse the Wikipedia page for 'Artificial Intelligence'. ASSISTANT: Absolutely. [command=web_browse "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artificial_intelligence"] USER: Can you open the Terminal? ASSISTANT: Sure. [command=terminal "open Terminal"] USER: Could you show me the disk usage of my computer? ASSISTANT: Of course. [command=terminal "df -h"] USER: Please search the web for 'how to train a neural network'. ASSISTANT: Sure. [command=web_search "how to train a neural network"] USER: Can you browse the URL 'www.github.com'? ASSISTANT: Absolutely. [command=web_browse "www.github.com"] USER: Can you check the current date and time? ASSISTANT: Of course. [command=terminal "date"] USER: Please show me the running processes. ASSISTANT: Absolutely. [command=terminal "ps aux"] USER: Could you search the web for 'Python programming tutorials'? ASSISTANT: Sure, I can do that. [command=web_search "Python programming tutorials"] USER: Please browse the New York Times website. ASSISTANT: Alright. [command=web_browse "https://www.nytimes.com"] USER: Can you open Microsoft Word? ASSISTANT: Sure. [command=terminal "start winword"] USER: Could you show me the network statistics? ASSISTANT: Of course. [command=terminal "netstat"] USER: Please search the web for 'latest news on artificial intelligence'. ASSISTANT: Sure. [command=web_search "latest news on artificial intelligence"] USER: Can you browse the URL www.medium.com? ASSISTANT: Absolutely. [command=web_browse "www.medium.com"] USER: Can you open the command prompt? ASSISTANT: Sure. [command=terminal "start cmd"]
I tried a bunch of times with varying settings. 10 epochs, 20 epochs. Lora rank 128 or 256 and the alpha double of that. I also tried a learning rate of 3e-3 instead of 3e-4.
Usually when trying the lora with an input like 'can you start spotify?' it would respond with something like 'sure, whats the command for that?'. Other times, it would go into some wierd nonesense response like 'yes yes yes {€{€$€$€$€€$€€$€€$€'.
Not sure what i'm doing wrong here. Is the dataset too small? Or am I making a technical mistake in formatting the data? Do I need each example to include my context prompt perhaps?
Thanks in advance.

2023.06.08 23:57 FanboyXXX Breaking Bad Game Concept

For anyone who's played the Godfather games, my idea would be a similar concept.
You're a low level enforcer for Gus Fring and you run around Albuquerque intimidating and taking out smaller gangs. Tyrus is in the game as your characters main quest giver. You also experience certain events from BCS and BrBa from a different perspective and maybe some minor retconning here and there as your character is inserted into specific scenes or scenes that are implied to have happened but were never shown from the two shows. Maybe a flashback to the beginning of Gus's empire at the start of the game, where you play as Gus.
The finale could be your character picking up the pieces of Gus's fallen empire and somehow taking everything back (Something akin to Scarface The World is Yours). Oh and yes, character customization is available.
Maybe a mission involving eliminating any of the members and associates of the Cartel that are still alive. Call it "Zafiro Añejo Aftermath" or "Purging the Cartel".
You can play as Gus in flashback at certain moments throughout the game. Switches perspectives/stories like the Godfather part 2 film.
Missions with Mike (Banks is also a talented voice actor as well).
Maybe be involved in the killing of Arturo.
Unlock achievements by visiting show locations.
When you enter Gus's office during the story (not a mission location, just an Easter egg), you unlock the achievement "I need to see your balls".
One Easter egg could be that you will occasionally see the dissappearers vehicle driving along the road. Maybe in an undisclosed location, you can find his card and when you pocket it, you get the achievement "Need A New Dust Filter".
You can visit Old Joe's junkyard (maybe for a mission or easter egg)
You can visit Clovis's Towing place and find the Rv in a specific chapter of the game and unlock the "This is My Own Private Domicile" achievement.
Saul's office is available to visit, but you can only get to the lobby as he will always be "with a client". Francesca will death stare you during your entire visit.
Saul's ad will constantly play on the tv's found throughout the game.
A wayfarer 515 ribbon will be available in the customization menu after the completion of a certain chapter in the game.
Music from both shows will play on the radio during driving sessions (Baby Blue, Crystal Blue Persuasion, Something Stupid, Al CompĂĄs De Mi Caballo etc.)
Fallacies will also occasionally play on the radio (By Jesse and Badger's band Twaughthammer)
When you complete your first assassination mission, you get the achievement "Full Measure".
An escape mission that takes place after Gus's death where you are to flee from the heat.
A missing poster can be seen at a certain point in the story (as well as reports on the radio) for Howard Hamlin.
At some point in the story (very briefly), you will be able to see Jimmy's JMM billboard.
Casa Tranquila is available to visit but the interior is not accessible to the player.
Madrigal Electromotive is a hub location and Lydia is there, she can give the player a few side missions to complete in between the main story.
For most of the game, LavanderĂa Brillante Industrial Laundry is available as the main hub. Superlab is only accessible prior to the breaking bad timeline section of the game (after it is built - s2 and 3 of BrBa as to not make players wonder where Walt and Jesse are if it's always empty).
A mission where you assist Mike in overseeing the construction of the Superlab (with the new crew).
That's all I got for now. Reply with ideas below If you have any.

2023.06.08 23:43 FanboyXXX Breaking Bad Game Concept

2023.06.08 22:50 casp_2 Marvel vs. Capcom 2 Cab Mod - An Experience

Marvel vs. Capcom 2 Cab Mod - An Experience
Let me preface this by saying, there are many ways to do one thing. There was a lot to accomplish so I worked with what was available. This is a first, dealing with an arcade cabinet and arcade emulators which is very different from console emulators. Safety and proper execution is key.
Story:
Found a Marvel vs Capcom 2 (Gen 3) arcade cabinet locally. After some research I found all of these things that could be done with the cab which piqued my interest.
Mods:
  • Implement a spare raspberry Pi, learn what could be done with it.
  • Replace stock buttons with LED versions
  • Drill additional holes for the "coin" buttons
  • Add led’s to coin slots
  • Keep stock speakers but add a subwoofer and amp
  • Get the equipment needed to to utilize the pi with the monitor
  • Ensure that the cabinet works as it did when stock
The build:

https://preview.redd.it/9s8hgdqlwu4b1.jpg?width=1818&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f7c0160ebcdcdc1204dc589411b40816e0a8be55
Removing the back panel of the arcade revealed a very simple setup with a box and wireless antenna attached in the back. Disconnecting this would be an easy task.
https://preview.redd.it/5bj0eqbeou4b1.png?width=3584&format=png&auto=webp&s=edbd8eb1066f2c0aafda27fa6aee02e4d4430afa
A look inside the box after detaching it from the monitor.
https://preview.redd.it/12vtzbrpou4b1.png?width=4000&format=png&auto=webp&s=0f73b89300b168f440f32f2534ed41e6819ff1c1
Since we are adding a Raspberry Pi 4B in this build, we need the LCD board that would allow the Pi to be connected to the monitor. Initially, I ended up getting the kit that came with 3 boards. Unfortunately, the main LCD board ended up being defective so I returned it as it did not work at all in testing. Also, since the monitor in this cab was the type ending in GZ-N10, that it already has its own inverter. Therefore, only the kit containing the 2 boards is required.
https://preview.redd.it/6c7cox3tou4b1.png?width=1804&format=png&auto=webp&s=50f703a15df904296cf5cf96479eee12a18b8272
Next, we need some mounts. All that was needed after that was some double-sided tape. These mounts are high enough such that the contacts on the bottom of the boards are nowhere near metal from the monitor. Here is how they turned out:
https://preview.redd.it/uadq1b3cpu4b1.png?width=1999&format=png&auto=webp&s=155c383736566b7e94dd7d535780f666b3740379
Now it’s time to figure out wiring the LED’s from the marquee and coin slots together. First, I extended the pos/neg cable from the main marquee. Then, I cut 2 small strips of white COB LED’s specifically to light up the coin slots. Both of these are rated at 12v so powering it with the stock ac adapter was no issue.
https://preview.redd.it/7b9925rlpu4b1.png?width=1999&format=png&auto=webp&s=6fa15d6772b498fca17f37f0a0fb17a16b311b08
Next, to get everything connected together, here is where Wago connectors come in handy.
Word of caution: these connectors should only connect wires that are the same polarity per connector. Notice in the image below, only negative wires are being used in the 2-port connector:
https://preview.redd.it/pngr649ppu4b1.png?width=1000&format=png&auto=webp&s=e587f4f40b58a6df51b4c2504052b28607406a8e
Do not connect a positive and negative wire together in the same connector otherwise you're gonna pizza when you should have french fried. Once a negative (or positive) wire is connected in one of the ports (for example), the entire connector (whether you have a 2,3,4 and so on) is whatever polarity is in the initial port. I also utilized a cable gland (optional) inside of the coin slot to route the wiring from the LED strips since I had them laying around collecting dust. Totally unnecessary but looks neat.

After wiring the LED’s for the coin slots and marquee this is the result. The red arrow indicates the extension of the marque power wires and the green boxes indicate how the wiring was done utilizing the Wago connectors. The bottom set of connectors is where I wired up the LED's.
https://preview.redd.it/qgpwh25ypu4b1.png?width=1476&format=png&auto=webp&s=f30375745c7aa7b491f10c4df221a68e04fff952
Since the arcade might be in use for a prolonged period of time, I thought it best to get a GeekPi Ice Tower for my pi and let me tell you, it slaps. I highly recommend it.
https://preview.redd.it/2dgn8mo0qu4b1.png?width=1220&format=png&auto=webp&s=218231f69f2acbce2fb55746e36ae9e997df0076
https://preview.redd.it/1k6gn654qu4b1.png?width=1566&format=png&auto=webp&s=502d7d848df6d9036ae47c2638933b23e4f489c5
Next was upgrading the control deck. There are several reasons you’ll want to do this (optional though) but most important is adding a player 1/player 2 coin button for the arcade emulator. Additional buttons can also be added aside from what came stock. Some have drilled new holes on the control deck or on the side/front of the arcade. It’s whatever you prefer. I drilled extra holes on the control deck. Then, I purchased the Hikig 2 Player Arcade Button Kit.
https://preview.redd.it/8mxmz5f5qu4b1.png?width=1067&format=png&auto=webp&s=ef233034d308066ec24541b10143e84e6d643c84
Initially, I did not know what to expect once I installed these and configured its mapping. Utilizing Batocera, I expected that each “joystick” would be configured individually and that the second player could navigate games, menu settings etc. Not the case. I racked my brain over this longer than I would have liked. Here is my take on these:
  • The USB encoders are manufactured by DragonRise.
  • When connected to the PI, both encoders use the same device id when connected so they act as 1 device when mapping controls. I know of no way to differentiate the 2.
  • Thinking I was doing something wrong, I tried multiple kits ([email protected], a 2nd Hikig kit, EGStarts, EasyGet, an encoder kit bla bla bla). They are all manufactured by the same entity. Unless you are going for something completely different like an i-PAC or a Brook Zero Pi (which really I found no decent setup guides on for this specifically) it's all the same.
  • I discovered that in Batocera, both controllers are recognized from the main screen but only player 1 can navigate the screen, set settings, and select the game. There is no input from player 2.
  • It is only in-game where p1 & p2 works as expected.
  • Controls I believe can be set per emulator via the Retroarch menu but I haven’t had a chance to fully confirm that’s true. You'll want to familiarize yourself with this menu.
As for the control deck, this is the result after putting the kit together. I ended up turning both usb encoders inward so that the wires could go straight down the middle. I plan on eventually swapping this control board out but for now, stock will suffice.
https://preview.redd.it/wpejexzmqu4b1.png?width=1999&format=png&auto=webp&s=d4c1b80e7c79260c33d60d29d8febfdffbc13620
Next, I ordered some joystick handles so when the wiring was complete, they would be installed:
https://preview.redd.it/82bqf5boqu4b1.png?width=1073&format=png&auto=webp&s=524a69fb614bc3d1c8824178ee64b13451152dc1
Moving onto the volume controls, I found a post on here that worked flawlessly. I decided to go the solder method because I wasn’t keen on cutting the wires. Again, many ways to accomplish this but it's the route I went and it works.
https://preview.redd.it/45pwqwkpqu4b1.png?width=754&format=png&auto=webp&s=00202aea93d06676dacc55149947249348a68a63
Now it’s time to mount all of the boards. Out of the box of cables I had, I managed to find a Y splitter that connected to the AC1U stock AC adapter.
Here is how I utilized the power via the splitter:
  • The first connector from the splitter goes to the LCD board
  • The second connector from the splitter goes to a female DC connector
  • The positive and negative wires for the LED’s go into the DC connector terminal (green side)
  • I add an additional positive and negative wire (green side) which go into a step down converter
There was a good amount of time thinking about how I could get all of this working from the stock sliding off/on button. Also to be considered was the raspberry pi runs at 5V and I have 12v leds. The LED’s could have been replaced with 5v, and I know Batocera had built-in capabilities to use the on/off button via gpio. I wanted to do what I could as safely as possible without those replacements. A spare step-down converter at 5.08v to power the pi and get rid of its AC adapter came in handy.
This is what it looks like all connected:
https://preview.redd.it/s6ddbpm6ru4b1.png?width=4000&format=png&auto=webp&s=2aeb287576f3d30c6d9cd18616fa95de084bd460
Then came the audio so an AMP was added.
https://preview.redd.it/pbsempoaru4b1.png?width=1231&format=png&auto=webp&s=27ca1a735a28591f4c54d6660e40912560b59912

and some Logitech Z313 Speakers
https://preview.redd.it/cbbveejbru4b1.png?width=1219&format=png&auto=webp&s=a49c30ddb99f2a5ec2055e922d28a15a4add54a3
I know that the LCD board has a port for amplifying sound but I tried and did not like it. I kept my stock speakers and added the 2 speakers that came with the set.
They are connected via a 3.5mm extension cable which was cut and the 4 wires from the extension cable were set in the amp. I figured out which side was which via a multimeter. Again, probably another way to do this.
What I learned (in no particular order):
  • There will be some games like “The Simpsons” for example that are 4 players. The only file that I could get to work during testing where the player could select any character came from archive.org
  • Ever wondered why arcade games are generally harder? $ of course. The arcade emulators have a back-end “Cab Service” section where you can set free play if the game supports it, how many coins = a credit, difficulty, how many players the cab supports, all sorts of settings. I thought I had to do this for the Simpsons so I could select any player but it was simply the file that didn’t work and too much time was spent trying to get it to work that way and replacing files. A mess.
  • In relation to coins and credits, the Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is a fresh install meaning you will not have all the characters unless you have exp. You gain this the more you play and the more “coins you insert” for credits. Enabling "free play" did not help with this. There is a guy on the tube who was nice enough to share his file with everything unlocked. I replaced it in the appropriate directory and it worked perfectly without me having to sit there for an hour “inserting coins” to get experience and the characters. The console version is different in how this can be achieved.

  • Retroarch (included in emulation by default) can be accessed once a game is launched. I had to map a key to make accessing this menu simple. Retroarch is a granular way of configuring settings for the emulator and the game. To test whether I could get this like stock, changing the region can be done easily in Retroarch. After a reboot, it displayed properly after re-launching the game. Also, this is also where you can access cheats.

  • The arcade emulator cheats are accessed differently from the console cheats. Mame has its own set of cheats and you will need to enable the MAME menu from retroarch. When you do this, the menu will display once you get back in-game and the option to access cheats will be listed.
  • I found that depending on the game, menu items in retroarch tend to change slightly. Some features will not be available for a MAME game as you would see in a NAOMI game.
Oh, here is what the service menu looks like when setting up a cab. The things you don't know as a kid lol:

https://preview.redd.it/lntii7fbtu4b1.png?width=1280&format=png&auto=webp&s=00e7c00ac4dd04717e09b471a215340a8975ed6c

https://preview.redd.it/wbkt93xctu4b1.png?width=1280&format=png&auto=webp&s=de729d071d269d956978f214b33dc0d91bf924fc

https://preview.redd.it/boxkduwetu4b1.png?width=1280&format=png&auto=webp&s=dba0bef2a2f8ec54e8a2dcdd52bdc8e658f0047c
Other items:
Since I can't use the GPIO pins (that have built in programming from Batocera that when sliding the power off, it safely shuts down the pi) I have to use the menu to safely shut the pi down, wait a few seconds, then slide the power switch off when I see the no signal prompt. No biggie. Yes I can just slide the power switch off but it's not graceful.
I use SSD's with all my pi's. SD cards are annoying and yes, I have many of them.
Changed the startup picture in Batocera but it only flashes for a second then moves on to my custom video. It would be nice if the Batocera team to look into this. I suppose the workaround is including the image in my video but meh.
When booting up the system, there is a small thump from the subwoofer when the monitor is powering on which the amp is amplifying. It does not affect gameplay but it's just noticeable for a second. I'm sure some audio experts can figure a better way to do things but I had to work with what I had/know. I would appreciate feedback on this to reduce/eliminate that thump.
Overall, completing these mods was pretty satisfying.

2023.06.08 19:04 Shojaum World Tour Thoughts & Impressions (Story Spoilers)

I'll preface this by saying that I found the World Tour mode to be an enjoyable, and deeply flawed experience.
The premise of an open world Street Fighter experience using a custom character is excellent. It's fun to interact with the different masters and the introduction cutscenes make for some fun moments and led to some genuine laughs. My goblinoid man wrestling with Edmond Honda and dancing with Dee Jay are highlights.
I feel that World Tour suffers from some core design issues that hurt the viability of the mode as a standalone single-player game. Fortunately, it's not intended to be a standalone and comes packaged with a feature rich fighting game. There are serious pacing issues that I believe stem from the mode being designed as a 20 hour tutorial.
Pacing Issues
For example, it takes around between six and eight hours if you're doing some side missions to gain access to the Drive system which is the universal mechanic of SF6. You are able to select options from the talent tree to add Drive gauge before being able to interact with Drive, and this can apply to supers as well.
The missions alternate between Day/Night which is a great way to use existing assets to expand the game but the execution of this lead to a lot of frustration. There is no natural transition or twilight hours between day and night. You need to go back to your apartment which is just a menu screen at a specific location in each of the major cities. This in itself is pretty painless but the problem lies in the structure of the game. You'll often accept a mission during the day, that requires you to switch to Night to talk to someone, who wants you to go find someone during the day, who tells you to go fight someone at night. This involves you constantly fast traveling back to the apartment to cycle over and over really drags the speed of the game down. You usually have at least one side mission to break this up but it's very tedious.
There are a few changes I would make to handle this. World Tour should run on a timer and segue change from day to night over time. I would either include the option to switch time of day to the options menu, or have the apartment be a real location where you have something to do.
Minigames
The minigames are a fantastic idea that were executed solidly. Hats off to them using minigames as a way to introduce fighting game concepts. I don't have many issues with the ones that exist but I would have loved more. However, I believe these could have been better placed. There is a minigame that involves you opening beer bottles in the park. Why not put this in Chinatown with Chun-Li and on Guile's carrier? It would have been good if the associated master introduced you to the game as well. You could have a "wax on, wax off" moment with Guile explaining that timing is everything and teaching you perfect sonic booms with opening beer for the Navy.
I feel like the basketball game being a parry game was a little strange and would have been better served teaching you to time anti-airs.
It would have been great if there were some minigames specifically for making money like the Scrap Heap ones, and then another category of minigames for learning or training like the charge game or the Hado pizza one teaching motion inputs. These could have been tied more closely to the actual fighting styles or specials and even given you style points as a daily bonus.
Side Missions
There are a series of tutorial side missions in World Tour that starts in the opening hour with the three siblings, Alice, Tracy and Ryan that persist throughout the whole game. These should have been compressed in to the first few chapters of the game, and the later appearances by these characters could have been more advanced. There was a moment in the last couple hours of the game where I had a mission to beat Alice using Modern controls. I had something like 18 hours of playtime at this point. The following mission is to come back at Night and win using Classic controls. This left a bad taste in my mouth.
One of the brothers missions involves you landing combos. You need a 10 hit combo or so for the final version of this mission. The game never really teaches you *how* to combo at any point. I don't recall it explaining special cancels or links but I may be misremembering. I believe learning how to link a move and cancel in to a special should have been both included in the story as part of your training, as side missions to do more intermediate combos, and as minigames. They really don't touch on these much and I feel that most truly new players would likely give up on doing a 10-hit combo or just cheese the mission with OD Lightning Kicks or something to that affect.
The side mission that involves you fighting all of the "mightiest fighters" in the game is a somewhat poorly done checklist of fighters that quickly increase in level. I thought the Andore guys were funny in that having a patriarchal family of these progressively stronger grapplers should have been it's own mission but also would have been better served early game to teach you how to deal with Drive Impact and command throws. I would have redone this mission as a quest to take down progressively stronger disciples of each fighting style to teach you how to play against them.
Masters / Fighting Styles
The majority of the masters are irrelevant to the story but are locked behind accessing their zone which is arbitrarily gated behind you having advanced to a certain point in the story. You'll notice new locations unlock to fly to almost randomly and you show up and immediately get access to the style.
Luke is a great option to start with in Chapter 1 for completely new players. He has great normals, target combos, a projectile and a DP. If I were to make a change it would have been that you should select a starting master a la Pokemon. I'm fine with them locking you to Luke for the first couple Chapters but it would have been great if they let you pick a master of your choosing after that to go study with. Luke could have started you on your journey and then introduced you to the different fighters and asked you what speaks to you and sent you there.
It also would have allowed for them to use Bosch to pick an opposing master and be a real rival to you. It would have been cool if you pick Zangief if Bosch goes and trains with a zoner like Guile or Dhalsim to oppose you. Bosch completely exits the story in Chapter 1 as a character in a way that really doesn't make sense and could have been set up a lot better with this method.
Master Actions
The Master Actions are fun for navigating the environment and initiating fights, but I wish they had been used more. There are a few Pokemon-esque moments where you can't access the other half of the city without using the subway which is blocked by a man asking you for a metro card. It would have been great if there were more blockers in the environment that necessitated the use of certain master's actions almost like a Metroidvania. Say you didn't start with Kimberly, because you didn't start with Kimberly to access her area you might need to learn Spinning Bird Kick and Rising Uppercut so you can scale the rooftops of Metro City to access her.
It would have been fun if there was a wrestler blocking access to a rare item or a later section and you had to show him how strong you were by using Zangief's SPD on him. I feel like these are some easy wins that were available and they don't make use of them.
I have a lot more to say here but this is getting pretty wordy so I'll just say that overall World Tour is a great addition to SF6 and I sincerely hope they continue adding content to it in the future and fleshing it out more. Ultimately I find it pretty half baked but I believe later in the SF6 timeline or in a future title we could get a World Tour experience that truly stands out as a great single player game in it's own right.
Now that it's been out for a week I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts on this and if WT did anything for them.

https://imgur.com/a/tfMRo2y
A few months ago I made this post about a move deck I’d made that I was having moderate success with.
https://www.reddit.com/MarvelSnap/comments/11br1ch/actually_good_move_deck_guide/
This was during the height of the Thanos/Galactus/Shuri meta.
Then, last season, playing only this deck, I started at rank 40 and made it to infinite basically by accident. WITH OVER A WEEK LEFT IN THE SEASON.
And now, [Ghost-spider] is out, and sweet J Jonah is the deck WAY better with her. So here it is. Move is good.

(2) Dagger

(2) Kraven

(2) Ghost-Spider

(2) Cloak

(3) Vulture

(3) Polaris

(4) Absorbing Man

(4) Miles Morales

(5) Aero

(6) Heimdall

To use this deck, copy it to your clipboard and paste it from the deck editing menu in Snap.

TLDR: You’ll probably lose a bunch at first while you’re learning the deck, but once you learn it, it’s really good. And frankly, more fun than any other deck I’ve played.
https://imgur.com/CkILTGb
With this deck, I’ve currently breezed to rank 84 and show no signs of slowing down.
So how does it work?
Turn 1 – Skip (no, don’t play Iron Fist)
Turn 2 – Kraven middle, or Iron Fist > Human Torch, or Iron Fist to set up for Vulture/Dagger
Turn 3 – Play Vulture or Polaris their 1/2 drop into your Kraven. If you already played Human Torch and don’t have Vulture in hand, play Ghost-Spider to pull him again.
Turn 4 – This is your ideal Ghost-Spider turn if you played Vulture on 3. You can usually also play Miles Morales or whatever other move card you have.
Turn 5 – Cloak in the right lane + anything else. You usually want to be thinking about where your cards are going to end up at this point after your Heimdall. You need to make sure you have enough power in the mid lane going into turn 6 so that when you Heimdall, you can win the left lane.
Turn 6 – Move only the necessary cards to the right lane. This often means leaving Kraven + one other move card + other non-move cards (like Polaris/Iron Fist/Miles) in the middle and only moving a single card (like Vulture/Torch/Dagger) to the right. Then Play Heimdall in order to maximize your score in the left and mid lanes (remember to leave a spot open for him if possible).
There are a lot of variations on these turns, and this is far from an extensive list. For example, sometimes you’ll want to Cloak left or mid on turn 4, then Absorbing-Man-Cloak right on turn 5. And you’ll often spend your moves doing things like forgoing an extra 4 power on your Human Torch for an extra 5 power on your Vulture. But you need to spread the wealth here. Don’t put all your move payoffs in 1 lane on turn 6.
I’ll be honest. The deck is NOT easy to play. You will probably lose a fare amount trying to learn it. And once you do, you have to learn when to snap, which can be even trickier. But if you take the time (and the cubes) to learn, I promise you this deck is good, and a blast to play.
Okay, now let’s address some issues.
Locations
For some reason, people think move decks suffer from location variance. This is just plain false. If anything, the opposite is true.
Here is the list of good locations for move decks:
New York, The Bifrost, Strange Academy, Kun-lun, Asteroid M, Altar of Death, and anything that restricts play (i.e. Altar of Death, Deaths Domain, Sanctum Sanctorum, Crimson Cosmos, etc.) And these only include the very good locations. There are plenty others (like sinister London, Mojoworld, Asgard) that are only pretty good.
Here is the list of bad locations: Central Park, Savage Land, Fisk Tower, The Peak
Even Worldship is alright because you can just Polaris their low-cost into it (just don’t play Cloak later).
Omitted Cards
Dr Strange – 3 mana for 3 power and 1 move is bad. Iron Fist and Ghost-spider do that much for less. Then there’s Cloak
Multiple Man/Forge/Hulk Buster – While I’d love for Multiple Man to fit into this deck, I just can’t do it. It’s too inconsistent to power him up, and having a bunch of 3 power cards clogging your board is pretty actively bad most of the time.
America Chavez – As predictable as Heimdall is, you still need him, even if that means drawing him on turn 6. If your opponent predicts Heimdall (and they’re willing to do the math), they’ll just retreat anyway.
Storm/Spider-Man – Honestly, the deck might be better with these cards. I’d probably take out Absorbing-Man if I wanted to play one of them. BUT I WANT ALL MOVE ALL THE TIME BABY!
So, I encourage you to give this deck a shot. It’s probably only going to get better as the season goes on thanks to Silk. (Hot take: Spider-Man 2099 will probably be average/underwhelming in this deck because you have to play him on turns 4 or 5. You’d much rather be playing Ghost-SpideVulture/Cloak those turns. But, there are definitely draws that will let you get them all down. I’m just not convinced that he’ll end up being better than Absorbing-Man/Aero/Polaris. I’ll definitely be trying him out though.)

"I don't think going down is a bad thing." - Kevin McCarthy, daring us all to keep our minds out of the gutter

Puttin' Oot Fires

WHAT IS HAPPENING?
Ok, so fire is making it suck to live on the west coast, the east coast, and the North Coast. WHAT DO I DO NOW? Do not tell me to go live at the southern border, because Q says “a storm is coming” there too.
We always thought that when the shit went down we could escape to Canada but now Canada is the problem. We may be learning what the billionaires have known for years—we gotta go to space, y’all.

Under The Radar

Federal prosecutors made the mistake of feeding the grand jury investigating disgraced former president Donald Trump past midnight, and now we have two Trump grand juries to contend with. Multiple witnesses have been subpoenaed to testify before a recently empaneled grand jury in Florida, which is also investigating Trump’s theft of national-security materials and obstruction of justice. Trump aide Taylor Budowich testified in Miami on Wednesday. The Justice Department’s counterintelligence chief Jay Bratt reportedly conducted some of the questioning, suggesting Espionage Act charges may be coming.
The law states that a grand jury must convene where the crime took place. In the document-theft case, that’s
everywhere? In addition to the troubles at Mar-a-Lago, and the troubles he had at the White House, Trump might have disclosed sensitive materials at his Bedminster, NJ, golf club as well. Will there be a third grand-jury investigation soon? Say what you will about Trump, but his grand juries are some of the most beautiful and the most plentiful in all of history. He truly does it better than anyone.

What Else?

CNN’s CEO is OUT for being OOT (out of touch, in this instance).
The man who desperately wants you to think his wife is hot, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), is facing possible criminal charges in Texas over his illegal migrant flights. He possibly faces several counts of unlawful restraint, both misdemeanors and felonies.
Perhaps the worst thing about airline travel, sometimes they just send you to Russia. And they don’t let you leave your hotel or use your credit card while you’re there.
Jay Johnston of Bob’s Burgers and Mr. Show was charged for his role in the insurrection. Perhaps a freedom ban to go with his Bob’s Burger ban?
Pope Francis undergoes surgery for being 86. The surgery was successful and the Pope is back to his usual poor health.
Hypersonic missiles are cool. Iran having them is not.
Tucker Carlson is back! In a new, much worse place. It’s not TV—It’s Twitter, and it's filmed in a fucking barn. Fox News isn't as amused as we are.
Another expose on how much money comics in Los Angeles make finally gets it right. They don’t make shit.
A pilot program launched in the U.K. to give private practices the ability to inject weekly weight-loss shots such as Novo Nordisk's Wegovy.
Bills Quarterback Josh Allen becomes playmate of the year and will grace the cover of Madden ‘24—the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue of video games. Look, you either get it or you don’t.
Mike Pence enters the Presidential race to give Trump someone to humiliate, dominate, and attempt to murder.
In another blow to journalism, the Los Angeles Times is laying off 13 percent of its newsroom positions.
Oh, Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. Scientists discover the first virgin birth in a female crocodile.

Be Smarter

The Department of Defense is reportedly devising a program to test the safety of widely used medicines due to concerns about the quality of generic drugs. The fear is that the FDA can no longer adequately police generics. Blame for the current drug shortages isn’t supply-chain issues, but quality issues. Pill production has shifted largely to India and China where the U.S. has little oversight, which is one cause for the drop in quality. In some cases, certain heart and diabetes drugs have been found to contain small amounts of chemicals that can cause cancer. Defense officials have been in talks with independent lab Valisure, which has been testing drugs for Kaiser Permanente for the last two years, to monitor quality. Kaiser will look for a different provider if the product fails its tests.
The FDA has pushed back against companies like Valisure on the grounds that third-party testing labs aren’t beholden to the same protocols as drug manufacturers. They also fear making the rules so stringent that they are forced to shut down more drug labs and exacerbate shortages. The labs in Asia aren’t making things easy, either. Before a recent inspection, workers at one lab were found to have shredded documents and poured acid on the bags that wouldn’t fit in the trash truck.
