The government of Karnataka is providing free electricity to households consuming below 200 units per month, with the condition that their usage remains within 10% of their average usage from the previous year. However, if I did not possess a refrigerator, air conditioner, or washing machine in the past and decide to purchase one now, my electricity consumption will inevitably increase, leading to electricity charges. This arrangement appears unjust since individuals who already own such appliances are unlikely to be charged for exceeding their average usage due to their higher historical consumption. Is there a better approach to control power consumption?.

Is my hair getting messy too fast?
I think this has been happening for a while, but only now am I really noticing and getting bothered by it. Usually it only takes one day for my hair to go from defined, healthy looking, and kinda neat to frizzy, tangled, thin looking, and really messy. Sometimes even on wash day it comes out not so great and I’ve had times where I went through the whole process of wetting, detangling, and conditioning my hair over again until I was either kinda satisfied or just gave up. I’ve been trying to get into a good routine with my hair for years but to be honest I can’t even really remember the last time I was happy with my hair for an extended period of time. Even on days where I think it looks kinda nice it gets messed up when I go outside because of the wind or whatever, and then my bangs won’t stay in front of my forehead so it just looks weird. It just makes it all feel pointless. And I’m not really doing anything different on the days I’m happy with my hair compared to the days that I don’t? At least I don’t think so? I feel like my routine is pretty simple: •I wash my hair with regular shampoo and conditioner, and detangle in the shower as well while the conditioner is in my hair. •Out of the shower, I just put in a little bit of cantu leave in conditioner, and then air dry. I’ve tried using a hair dryer with a diffuser but I swear it never works. Every time I’ve tried to use a diffuser my hair comes out looking very messy, so I’ve just been air drying it and that seems to work out a decent amount. •I also sleep with a silk cap on, although to be honest most of the time it comes off of my head while I’m sleeping. of the time it feels like it’s just up to fate whether or not my hair will look good on a given day. It’s starting to feel like it’s just up to fate whether or not my hair will look good on a given day, and the odds are not in my favor. So, any advice on what I could do?

Do I have wavy hair or am I a wanna be?
My mom is a 2c or 3a with thick hair and my dad is a 1 with fine hair. I have fine hair that frizzes really easily. I don't know if it is wavy or if I only think it's wavy because of frizz. This is my air dried hair with no products except leave in conditioner and light scrunching. What is weird is that the top of my hair is pretty straight, but the bottom makes an S shape. If I do have wavy hair, any tips on reducing the frizz and bringing out the wave?

2023.06.10 18:03 biobennett AC soft starter

I installed a soft starter on my air conditioner a week ago and already I can't believe I waited so long.
In addition to making it super easy to run the AC on generator power, if also is quieter on start up and I don't get the momentary dimming of lights on start up.
In my case it did actually achieve the 65% reduction in inrush current for starting the compressor, I'm really impressed. In theory they also extend the life of your compressor, which is the most expensive part of the AC system.
If you don't know what a soft starter is you can check out this video https://youtu.be/MDp1g8r8IVs where a guy goes through his install

2023.06.10 18:00 mrnapolean1 What's the best way to size up a sub panel for an outlying building?

I got a 10x12 storage building. I'm converting to a she-shed for my mom so she's got somewhere to do her arts and crafts. I have a milbank meter pole installed on the property and the meter box has a 200 amp main breaker in it and it's got branch circuits alongside the 200 amp breaker.
The millbank box indicates that 100 amp is the maximum size breaker you can put in the branch circuit. What I'm trying to do is figure out how many amps I need to send to this building so I can get the appropriate wire and breaker for it.
Obviously there's going to be lights and outlets. I will have one window air conditioner and one mini fridge in there.
Any help is appreciated.

2023.06.10 17:50 Maertese Auto logic switch for two 20-amp appliances

I would like a logic relay box/device that will allow one plugged in device to run but only if the other is not running. Example: the refrigerator is running - the room air conditioner powerline is disabled. The refrigerator stops running - both receptacles receive power. The room A/C comes on - the refrigerator receptacle is de-energized. The purpose is for controlling the load to a small backup inverter generator while sleeping. I don't know if there is already a device that does this, and I just don't know the proper search term to find it or if someone has a DYI idea they wish to share. Thanks to anyone that replies. If this is not the proper forum to post on, let me know and I'll remove it.

Why are bees invading my air conditioner?
Hello. So i came home about an hour ago and notices a swarm of bees flying around my air conditioner. I went outside to check and found that they have made holes in the wall from outside. Yesterday there was nothing. Could it be the fact that i use my AC a lot? So here i will attach a picture: The holes on the wall werent there the last time i checked. Are they making a nest? Will they come into my home? What should i do? I am honestly worried, since me and my family are allergic to bee stings

2023.06.10 17:17 7amstart A beginner routine for fine hair (UK)

Hey all you lovely curly hair guys and girls :)
So, I've looked through the beginner routine in the subs info section, but honestly it's overwhelming and I need some extra help.
I always thought I had straight hair, I never do anything to it, just wash once weekly, shampoo and conditioner, then I admit I roughly dry with a towel (like waaaay too aggressively) and air dry. My hair gets quite frizzy and tangled. I'm sorry, please don't hate me 😭🙏
One day after the shower, I didn't go ham with the towel and just scrunched my hair. I noticed my hair was actually quite wavy and some strands were making curls. My mum has curly hair, she saw this and told me to put some of her gel in my hair. It looked quite nice but the wave/curl fell out pretty fast.
So I'm looking for a super easy beginner routine for someone with fine hair but a LOT of it (that's what the hairdressers always say anyway).
I've noticed that the beginner manual has a lot of conditioning, but I know that would just weigh my hair down. I'd love to hear some simple routines from people with fine (not dry) curly hair.
What are your holy grails? I wanna know! Preferably products I can get my hands on in the UK, thank you!

2023.06.10 16:53 blahfuggenblah Rear AC components under headliner?

Does anyone have photographs of what is under the headliner that relates to the rear air conditioner? I imagine all kinds of stuff up there that I don't begin to understand.
I'm thinking about whacking this 2003 into pieces and putting a short pickup camper on top of it, but I'm terrified of the air conditioning stuff that I do not understand.
Your thoughts and your smart-assery are solicited! 😂

2023.06.10 16:53 ysfreeze How to deal with genetically dry, coarse curly Egyptian hair?

How to deal with genetically dry, coarse curly Egyptian hair?
So I'm 15M, I have extremely dry & coarse, curly hair, that begins to spiral into a mess after a certain length that isn't even long or anything.
I use: Tresemme Botanix Nourish & Replenish Shampoo a deep conditioner (dk the name) argan oils / a botanic oil mix
Image 1: Hand combed, just woke up, day after a wash + used argan oils & botanic oil mix night before Image 2: Added a botanic oil mix & argan oil Image 3: Lots of pantene oil replacement cream used, hand combed, and spent several hours outside Image 4: Just woke up, few days after wash day so it's really dry Image 5: Hair after being freshly washed & left to air dry
My hair can only be brushed if its wet or if I add oils (Water being more effective)
I'm planning to use the L'Oreal Paris Elvive Hydra Hyaluronic Shampoo with Hyaluronic Acid and the conditioner it's paired with. Thoughts?
For reference: Egypt has hot, humid weather.
I don't do haircare daily, though these days I've been starting to do it more often.
My hair has been like this for as long as I remember; it's genetic. But I just know that there's something I can do to style it properly and make it look better. Especially since adding water to it or using oils helps a lot.

2023.06.10 16:22 Conscious_Mastodon86 The Soothing Power of Relaxing Sounds: An Exploration

In our fast-paced and often stressful world, finding moments of tranquility and relaxation has become increasingly important. One popular method that has gained significant attention is the use of relaxing sounds. From the gentle rustling of leaves to the rhythmic crashing of ocean waves, these sounds have been found to have a profound impact on our mental and physical well-being. In this article, we will delve into the science behind the soothing power of relaxing sounds and explore various types of sounds that can help you unwind and find inner peace.
The Science of Relaxing Sounds: Numerous scientific studies have explored the therapeutic effects of relaxing sounds on the human mind and body. Researchers have found that exposure to calming sounds can reduce stress, anxiety, and even physical pain. The sounds stimulate the release of endorphins, which are natural feel-good chemicals in our brains, promoting a sense of relaxation and well-being. Additionally, relaxing sounds can help lower heart rate and blood pressure, induce better sleep, and improve overall mood.
Types of Relaxing Sounds: 1. Nature Sounds: Nature has long been a source of inspiration and relaxation for humans. The sounds of chirping birds, flowing streams, and gentle rain can transport us to a state of tranquility. These natural sounds connect us with the earth and have a calming effect on our minds. Listening to nature sounds can be particularly beneficial for those living in urban environments, offering a virtual escape into the serenity of the great outdoors.
  1. White Noise: White noise refers to a consistent sound that covers a wide range of frequencies and masks other sounds in the environment. Examples include the humming of a fan, the gentle whir of an air conditioner, or the sound of falling rain. White noise creates a constant and unobtrusive background sound, effectively drowning out disturbing noises and promoting relaxation, focus, and better sleep.
  2. Instrumental Music: The power of music to evoke emotions and create a soothing atmosphere is well-documented. Instrumental music, particularly genres like classical, ambient, or instrumental versions of familiar tunes, can have a profound calming effect. The absence of lyrics allows the mind to focus solely on the melodies and harmonies, providing a mental escape from the stresses of daily life.
  3. ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response): ASMR is a relatively recent phenomenon that involves specific sounds or whispers that trigger a tingling sensation in certain individuals. Common ASMR triggers include whispering voices, tapping sounds, or the crinkling of paper. ASMR videos have gained immense popularity, and many people find them incredibly relaxing and sleep-inducing.
Incorporating Relaxing Sounds into Daily Life: To reap the benefits of relaxing sounds, you can incorporate them into various aspects of your daily routine. Consider creating a playlist of your favorite calming sounds to listen to during meditation, yoga, or while unwinding before bed. Mobile apps and online platforms also offer a vast array of relaxing soundscapes to choose from, allowing you to customize your auditory experience.
Conclusion: Relaxing sounds have the remarkable ability to soothe our minds, reduce stress, and enhance overall well-being. Whether it's the gentle sounds of nature, white noise, instrumental music, or ASMR triggers, finding the right soundscape can help create a haven of tranquility amidst the chaos of modern life. So, take a moment, close your eyes, and let the soothing power of sound guide you to a place of deep relaxation and inner peace.

2023.06.10 15:36 zainuu163 2 Stabilizers and 2 AC and Voltage Problem

1st Stabilizer-5KVA Copper Winding Voltage Range 90V-300v -First Air Conditioner
2nd Stabilizer-I have no Idea- Second
Both are connected to same Phase line
AC which is connected to first stabilizer cools well but Second AC doesn't and compressor doesn't even turn on and when I check the Second Stabilizer input 180 V and output are both 180V

if I turn off the 5KVA (First stabilizer) then second stabilizer shows 220 Volts and then Second Ac works fine.

In short 5KVA is the BOSS and other is not ...SO does this mean I need to get another 5KVA...?

This Only Happens in June and Summer ...It wasnt a problem before like 2 months ago...Both ACs were working fine

2023.06.10 15:20 ExpensiveFun9681 Proceeding with a portable AC unit?

Hello,
I am finally mostly prepared to purchase air conditioning for my flat, seeing as summers do tend to get a little unbearable at times.
I am also aware that a window unit would do much better than, let's say, a portable one.
However, here's the issue - my windows are not sliding, instead, opening inside the room. Furthermore, in my main room, I only have balcony windows, which would negate the usage of a window unit even more.
I'm also not really in the mood, nor have enough cash to be mounting a split system, building administration authorization and all that jazz aside.
So, my final question - would you, as a last resort, recommend purchasing a portable AC unit? And, if yes, how much power[W] and EER would you consider sufficient?(as an example, how does 2600W with 2.6 EER sound?)
Ambient outdoor temps: https://imgur.com/a/PIHDlQV
Room size: Mainly used in my office/bedroom, around 12 - 13m^2
