2023.04.01 09:07 krim2182 I went to urgent care because I wasn't getting better after a week of almost passing out, to being admitted into a cancer facility within 2 days.

It started about a month ago, me noticing that I couldn't walk very far without running out of breath. Walking up and down the stairs about took me out. Whenever I stood I almost passed out. Did a quick Google search and it seemed like anemia could be the issue. So I went and picked up some supplements. Last Thursday I noticed I became incoherent at work, I couldn't see straight, something was wrong. I had to get my mom to come grab me from work because of how unsafe it would have been for me to drive.
I got home, and was so cold, but had a fever. I ended up getting strep throat throughout this. Fast forward to Thursday and I'm in the shower and I was going down. I had enough time to protect myself from a massive fall, but it took me another 30 minutes to get dressed and downstairs. So I told my husband I needed him to drop me off at urgent care.
Quick blood work showed my hemoglobin was 34. So they sent me to a hospital asap. The hospital took more blood work and gave me my first transfusion. They transfered me to another hospital that had a hematology team. 3 blood transfusions later and my levels are still low. I had so much blood drawn I was near tears every time someone came for a blood sample. I was in the ER waiting for a bed during all this.
Today comes around and a doctor from the hematology team comes around and explains the situation. He said the words leukemia. He explains that ill still need a bone marrow biopsy to fully determine what type.
So since 10am i have had a bone marrow biopsy, a CT scan, and echocardiogram, an ekg, had a central line placed and have been admitted to our cities best cancer facility. I'm still in shock. It doesn't feel real. I thought it was just anemia.

My whole dating life seems to be on rinse and repeat mode. I meet a guy, for the first few weeks/meetings he seems keen and excited about me. Then as soon as it’s been a few weeks, wether we’ve had sex or not, their interest wanes. They stop being as nice, don’t text as much, and stop suggesting to see me. Hi! My ed is a secret from my friends and family (im sure they know but they havent said anything about it aside from occasional comments here and there) but im in recovery and i just want to share everything that’s happened with people who get how hard it is
ive had my ed for 7 years but at the very start of jan a trigger started an awful episode and things were the worst theyd ever been. this month is the scariest my ed has ever gotten and i decided to get help , im seeing a doctor, psychologist and am getting frequent counselling for general issues and im getting referred to a specialized treatment plan in 3 days
My doctor said i need to start eating at least 3 regular meals because shes worried about some of my symptoms, so on monday, that’s what I did. At first i had horrible acid reflux and bloating, plus the wildest extreme hunger. Now, 6 days later, i still have extreme hunger but rhe acid reflux and painful bloat is gone! i have more energy and also will soon be finding out the results for my bloodwork. Im trying to honor my cravings and its HARD but i conquered toast today, the first toast ive had all year! i also ate 3/4 of a lasagna because again, havent had it in literally forever. ive eaten a lot more than just those and im still hungry so i think i should eat more. Its not physical hunger though? Idk but i think its extreme hunger?? Can i get eh even though im not underweight anymore?? its not binging because its like conscious i just feel so so hungry
Either way, I want to be free of the bottomless pit that is my eating disorder, i want to feel passion and love and be alive, i dont have hobbies anymore and i dont feel anything and all my relationships are broken because of my ed, i want to get my life back and fill it with good things rather than this disorder. I want to be normal and truly happy so so bad, the happiness my ed promises me is a lie and at my lowest weight i didnt even feel like a living being, i was a husk of a person and thats a waste of my precious time on this planet

These words (or something like them) have been said to me and countless other students throughout history.
From a teacher’s point of view, I can tell you that when this happens, it is almost certainly a game of chicken. The teacher is hoping the kid will crumple under the pressure. After all, that is almost certainly what is going to happen. I’ve never seen a kid take the teacher up on the “offer.” I’m not saying it has never happened. In fact, it almost certainly has.
That being said, “can a teacher legally have a student teach if they are being rude?” can take two forms:

Can the teacher force a student to come up?
Is it legal for a teacher to have a student teach?

In the first case, sort of but not really. I will tell you that I once had a teacher say, “If you think you can do this, come on up!” and then walked out and never came back. It was actually a pretty sad story because it turned out that he was dying of cancer. I’m glad I wasn’t the girl on the receiving end of that comment.
I don’t think a teacher can really force a student to teach, but that would only stop if someone decided to be an adult about it. Parents could complain that it is unprofessional, but the teacher could pretty easily flip that back. I guess it’s kind of a 50:50.
In the second case, yes, it is legal for a student to teach the class. In fact, it isn’t uncommon to “flip the class” and have students learn something and then teach it. I’ve done it numerous times because it hits so many standards under “speaking and listening strategies” that we otherwise wouldn’t hit.
At any rate, the teacher can have the student teach but the force thing is unlikely to happen. The teacher’s greatest fear is that the idiot in the back of the class will stand up and say, “Okay!” and then walk up and do it.

Ok so I'm a mechanical engineering student and I'm looking for a fun daily. I live in Portland OR so I have to deal with tons of rain and the car will live outside. My first car was a 94 Corvette with a blown engine, after rebuilding it I drive it for a few years before realizing it was beyond repair. At the moment I have a 2000 Miata and although it is very fun to drive, its not super comfortable, its pretty loud, tons of road noise, and not good on the highways. Im looking for a manual car with more comforts, more sound deadening, maybe more power, just something that can be more comfortably driven. I do all my own repairs and car work and have a lift in my parents garage, I'm fairly mechanically competent. I'm currently considering a C5 FRC, maybe a Z06 but thats probably outside the budget, an E46 seems like a good daily but I'm worried about how hard they might be to work on and how some systems I might not be able to fix myself. An E36 seems fun, comfy and a little more fixable than an E46 but I have heard the interior quality isnt good and all the ones near me are pretty clapped 😔. Really want a manual, I don't want to have a convertible and targa tops seem to be a pain. Just looking for a some suggestions, tell me what you think!

(Although of course I do not support JKR in the slightest) I also like tattoos. The band Ghost. Snakes. The sound of rain. Walks on the beach when it’s not hot. I'm a 14yo male and decided to try cigarettes a couple of months ago, and found out last night that I've been smoking them wrong the whole time, so I did it the correct way to try it out. It made me extremely dizzy, lightheaded, and shakey so I had to sit down cuz I was afraid I would pass out.
My outside cat came running up to me for me to pet her and I tried to push her away because I know that second hand smoke is horrible and didn't want her to ingest it, but she wouldnt budge and just kept rolling around beside me. I was too much of a p to get up and walk to a different spot in my yard, and was too much of a b to run her off by yelling and running at her cuz I didn't want to hurt her feelings.So I just fucking sat there. And when I finished and stood up was feeling too sick to even take note of the event and feel bad.
The same goddamn thing happened just now (the second night). But this time I'm not feeling enough like shit to not care, and I feel horrible. My cats are about the only thing I'm certain in this world that I actually care about, and I just fucking harmed her with second hand smoke because I'm too much of a p to put her above my comfort and feelings.
Now I'm pissed off at myself because I was too scared and nervous (I don't even know why, I guess the physical discomfort?) to actually do something. The worst part about this is that I'm only typing this out to relieve myself of a little bit of the anger and guilt that I'm feeling right now. I'm also now remembering when I saw a grey spot on her head the other day from rolling in the spot I put a cigarette out in.
