2023.06.08 17:19 foolwire Any cool shops for fun/eclectic home decor and gifts?
I’m fairly new to NYC and was originally looking for a store where I could find a couple of cool mugs to add to my place…but that kind of led me down a rabbit hole of finding quirky stores for general home goods and gifts.
I’m ultimately looking for stores similar to Lancelotti Housewares (before they closed, rip). Searching this subreddit, I’ve added Fishs Eddy, ABC Carpet, and Friends NYC to my list of places to visit. But I’d love to add more! I’d also love any recs for weekend craft fairs or flea markets.
Thank you in advance!

Hi! I am a pretty new hot wheels collector. Bought my 1st ever HW car, decide to buy from flea market that is known for its "scam". But yet gambled and bought this as saler told it is "pretty rare" & "only 100 cars around the world". 😞 Disappointed. submitted by NoobieBlox to HotWheels [link] [comments]
2023.06.08 15:43 tmantheking_ Why do so many people pass up on malboros?
I snag them every time I see them and will sell them in bulks of 10/15/20 at anywhere from 15-20k rubles. Just wondering why I can find 5 or 6 in one scav run. I always snag them when I can during my pmc just because if the market is right 4 of them are around 60-80k on flea.

2023.06.08 08:17 Ramaloke Obtaining Celebi in Pokemon Silver using a Japanese magazine page..
I remember finding a magazine back in the day, I can't remember if it was a Nintendo Power or Pocket Games or what it was. I very distinctively remember on the back it was a guide on how to catch Celebi in Pokemon Silver by doing a bunch of this outside of the box stuff, all in Japanese of course. I VERY VIVIDLY remember deciphering and following the pictures on that page to get my Celebi.
Does anyone else remember this by chance or know what I am talking about? I tried searching EVERYWHERE for scans of this page or just even someone talking about this but to no luck..
I guess I could be misremembering but I swear on everything it was a Celebi and I remember messing with that shrine in the forest. Not to mention the hours and hours of trying my best not knowing one bit of Japanese..
EDIT: Just for a little more info, this was in the US. If I dig deep into the dark pits of my horrible memory, I think it might have been from a Borders? Possibly? Or a flea market..which doesn't help.

2023.06.08 07:05 tom4life2001 Kings Trade: Kyle Kuzma Edition
https://preview.redd.it/j09hhjnezp4b1.png?width=780&format=png&auto=webp&v=enabled&s=2c8c9c82bcb31491187f6b44b74d0bdf8b62dc4b Assumptions: - Barnes is willing to sign with Atlanta.
- Kuzma is willing to sign with the Kings.
- Atlanta willing to remove all protections from first rounder in the Huerter deal.
Why the Wizards do it? - Kickstart their rebuild with 2026 first from the Kings and 2 seconds from Atlanta.
- Move off of Monte Morris's bad contract.
- Take on a reclamation project in John Collins who could redeem value like Al Horford or Chris Paul did in OKC and be spun for a positive asset in the future. He is also 2 years younger than Kuzma and is still a useful rotational player.
Why the Hawks do it? - Move under luxury tax by $8 million.
- Get solid, rotational "shooting big man" they have been seeking (see link) and almost previously traded for in HB. Also good veteran presence to help out new coach Quin Snyder. Barnes also gets slightly overpaid but his worth it for a team like Atlanta. Link: Lakers, Raptors, Heat could make moves at NBA trade deadline (usatoday.com)
- Trade 2 seconds to make up for Collins contract. (Collins probably worth half that contract so 2 seconds is in line with a team eating 12.5 million over 3 years.) He was nearly traded for Jae Crowder near the trade deadline so he clearly doesn't hold too much value right now in the trade market. Link: Collins-Jae Crowder rumored trade
Why the Kings do it? - Get a wing upgrade in Kyle Kuzma who fits the team's core age arc at 27 for HB and a conditional 2026 first which is similar to the rumored John Collins trade 2 years ago. NBA Podcaster Nate Duncan projects a $23-24 million contract for Kuzma while Spotrac's Keith Smith projected $18-20 million around midseason. Kings do a slight overpay for $25 million/year to get their guy.
- Get a 3rd PG in Monte Morris who only has 1 year left on his deal. Could use him or flip him to another team if desired.
- Don't trade any of their core or their 2023 #24 first while removing the Huerter trade first round protections to trade 2026 first round. They still have 2028 and 2030 first round picks as potential trade assets moving forward.
Give your thoughts on why you think the teams would do this or not in the comments below.

2023.06.08 06:25 Lower-Goose-9796 Why the Radio Disney Pop Dreamers are some of my favorite childhood dolls.
Remember when I posted my dolls of the Radio Disney Pop Dreamers I showed you my original childhood Ella (With only one of her original outfits) I found a year ago,Put new batteries in her and she still works and shortly after I found Gabrielle and Ari at a Flea Market for 1.50 each and after I brought them home I fixed their hair put new batteries in them and they still work and they still have 2 of their outfits,Also here is my history with this now obscure doll line from Disney. Here is the story.
It all started in like the early 2000's I think it was either 2002 or 2003 I was like 8 or 9 years old at the time and I see these dolls on the shelf at a store and I noticed they were symbolic to the Disney Princesses like Ella is symbolic to "Cinderella",Ari is symbolic to Ariel and Gabrielle is symbolic to Belle and the three outfits you snap on them which is another way to get them to talk besides pressing the buttons on their flip flops had stuff that symbolize each princess and another cool thing about them is you put them together and they talk to each other and sang and I thought there cool so the first one I picked out was Ella,This was at a Kmart and my mom got her for me,I picked her first cause she has blonde hair with pink streaks (I loved the color pink at the time but I've always been both a girly girl and a tomboy) and she symbolized Cinderella (Who was one of the first Disney princesses I ever loved and Ariel was the very first since I was like 3),After I got home I played with Ella and I enjoyed the songs she sang which are "If you can dream" and "Be a star".
Also I got the CD shortly after(Which I still have somewhere) and it had all the songs in it including different versions of some of the Disney Princess songs like Ella's version of "A Dream is a wish your heart makes" from "Cinderella" Gabrielle's version of "Beauty and the Beast" from obviously "Beauty and the Beast" and Ari's version of "Part of your world" from "The Little Mermaid" and even Ella's version of "Someday my prince will come" from Snow White" and Ari's version of popular 80's songs like "We got the beat" and Walking on Sunshine" since the original disney's version The Little Mermaid came out in the late 80's also longer versions of the songs the dolls sing.
I also had a t-shirt with Ella on it from The Disney store,I wore when I was 9.
Months later at Christmas I got Ari and I loved her,I also loved how she symbolized the first Disney princess I loved like I said "Since I was like 3" So I had those 2 for a very long time until they were put away for a long time.
Then 20 some years later as a 28 year old which was a year ago I look through some of my old toys from when I was a little girl I had them in my closet,I look through some stuff I find a Disney Store Ballerina Cinderella (Which I fixed the hair on) and an doll of Stella from the original Winx Club (My favorite version of Winx) and then I find my childhood Ella (With one outfit and missing other accessories),Her face had some white stuff on it which I cleaned up and I fixed her hair,Then I put new batteries in her and she still works but I couldn't find my original childhood Ari for some weird reason but like I said "Shortly after I find Ari and Gabrielle at a Flea Market and I got them for a dollar and 50 cents each they still had 2 of their outfits but no guitars,I bought them Gabrielle still worked,Although she sounded a little disoreted a little bit but I put new batteries in her she worked she sounded good and Ari just need new batteries so I put new batteries in her and she worked I also fixed their hair and cleaned them up a little bit.
So that is my story and I am proud to have all 3 of them after all these years and their part of my doll and toy collection along with My Disney collection and I got Ella and Ari back.

2023.06.08 06:18 nemesisknoxville Good second-hand non-touristy flea markets/antique shops around Bali?
I'm going to Bali in August and I'd love to visit local second-hand markets and antique stores. The problem is that I don't speak Indonesian so I've been doing research in English so all I can find are markets that seem to be catered to tourists with lots of art/decor stuff, souvenirs and so on. I'll definitely visit those, but honestly I find the whitewashed stuff kinda boring. I want to go to the ones that sell second-hand stuff that are more focused on locals. Are there any flea/normal-markets, antique shops or even recycling shops that are that around Bali? I love going through piles of random stuff to find treasures and doing that in a place like Indonesia would be amazing.

2023.06.08 06:04 Alarmed_Suggestion56 Aloof and Anxious budgies. Help?
I was given these two rascals about a year ago and have spent as much time as I could since the start with them, and only a little progress, and even negative progress in some places, been made. While I admit that I made a few beginners mistakes with them in the first week or two ( Small cage, pure seeds, and intrusive movements (I’ve never forcibly grabbed them)), I don’t believe any of them held any damage. I am very gentle, protective, and rewarding with them, but they are still very untrusting of me and full-blown terrified of everyone and everything else. I give them space and time (Around 5 hours of open cage time every day), but they rarely come out of their cage to exercise, play around, and pursue activities. 90% of the time they are out of the cage is because I have treats they enjoy like lettuce, apples, and/or popcorn. The moment they are full however, they return to their cage and won’t come back out. They also sometimes get in these moods where they are fearful of me, even though I hand feed them almost every day. These moods can last for an entire day, yet they can wake up the next day in bombastic moods where they’ll sing, preen, dance, sleep, and even somewhat play with me (All in their cage). We are moving places soon, and I know with 100% that they are going to be stressed out, especially since they’re currently molting. These are the same birds that crawl to the corner of their cage as I try to clean their cage and who don’t trust the broom. It is important that I mention that they are from a flea market in South Texas. People in and around South Texas generally don’t have much knowledge on real bird-care, and I speculate that they were likely mishandled as younglings (They were max 2-4 months old when they were given to me as they had stripes on their heads and beady eyes.) I want to know how I can make these birds live their best lives. I dream of them being social one day, and I want to know how to do that. Ive considered giving them up to an aviary with a flock of rescued budgies, but I’m too attached to my budgies to do that. I’ve followed countless tips and pieces of advice on how to get them to trust me, but none of them have worked. Do I have to accept that this is how they will be forever? Or is there a method I somehow haven’t tried? Or is the aviary idea the best shot of them having their best lives? I am scared for a day in which one of them gets sick, and I won’t be able to give them the proper care because of how anxious and stressed they get. Please help Reddit!! submitted by Alarmed_Suggestion56 to budgies [link] [comments]
2023.06.08 05:29 Alarmed_Suggestion56 Can I introduce a new budgie or Cockatiel to my 2 aloof budgies?
I was given these budgies about a year ago from a flea market in South Texas. Consistently throughout this year, i’ve been spending quality and quantitive time with them, trying to win over their trust. I’ve followed every tip, every piece of advice, and every hack that you could imagine, yet they are still untrusting of me and full-blown terrified of everything and everyone else. At times, they’ll have their moments where they’ll fall asleep in front of me or climb onto my forearm for food. They usually fall asleep, relax, preen, and grind their beaks to my voice whilst in their cage, but that’s all thrown out of the window as soon as I do something slightly intrusive such as trying to clean their cage, refill their food (Chop mix) and water, put in a new toy, or cover their cage at night. When I do any of these things, they usually depuff and huddle together in the back of their cage (They never have bitten me). Their cage is open for around 2-3 hours in the afternoon (Around 12-3, 1-4) and at night (5-8, (6-9), yet they rarely come out. Also, people in Southern Texas usually have many misconceptions on bird-care, so I’ve speculated that they were likely mistreated and mishandled as younglings (They were 3 months old max when I first got them) I’ve been very gentle and only want the best for them, but I’ve accepted that they’ll probably never be the social birds that I dream of them being. Naturally, since I’ve ran out of any more pieces of advice to follow, I’ve began looking at other solutions. I’ve considered giving them away to a local aviary that has a nicely sized flock of budgies, but I’ve been hesitant because of how attached I am to these cuties. Now i’m wondering if getting a hand-tamed budgie or cockatiel is a solution to hopefully ‘motivate’ my birds into being more social. My question is, is this a good idea or not? Would they be scared of a new bird, even if it was a budgie? Would they be motivated like I think they would be? Or would they not care at all and/or just bully the new bird? If this is a bad idea, what else could I do? I know living with permanently anxious budgies is bad for their health. I’m also worried in case of a day that one of them gets sick, and I can’t get them proper care because of how they are deathly afraid. (Also I don’t believe comments saying something along the lines of “Have you tried _____ or ____?” would help. I can almost guarantee you that I’ve tried whatever tip you can come up with.) submitted by Alarmed_Suggestion56 to budgies [link] [comments]
