2023.03.20 16:14 FastandtheFurious7 Normal S&P 500 graph different from S&P 500 “Total Returns” graph. Questions.

Hey everyone I have been interested in VOO/VFIAX for awhile and I just found out today that the normal graphs I see are the stock prices of the market. I never knew there was a different one for “total returns”. That includes the dividends for a more accurate information on earnings. Apparently the regular S&P 500 “SPX” only shows the price. Is there a reason that most graphs online/Fidelity just use the price and don’t factor the dividends? It always looked a little low to me. Because apparently the dividends on the total return charts account for over 40% of the earnings I would think that would be the more relevant graph look at.
As a sidenote, I am finding it hard to find a total return graph to follow. Do y’all have any recommendations where to find it for the S&P 500?

2023.03.20 16:10 dragsther 2020 Mazda 3 GT AWD japan built, question about brakepads

Hi guys, Canadian here !
I'm currently at 55 000 kms on my polymetal mazda 3 sport and need to change my brakes since I'm getting a squeaking noise from the left front wheels. Brakes were already due this summer. Stealership is around 1500$, so I'm looking to do it myself for 1/3 of the price !
In looking on rockauto and I'm a bit mixed with the japan VS Mexico built car. What exactly is the difference between Japan and mexico built ? I know awd has bigger front rotors. Difference between sedan or hatchback?
Is it the same rear brake pads and rotors for both ? I can only find difference for the first wheel.
Also, is "base model" on rockauto works for mazda3 GT japan build since they only have base model on every parts!
For rotors, I have in my cart Raybestos Element3 for front and rear.
Need help choosing what pads to go with , I'm kinda mixed up! Are the Powerstop z23 good for FRONT and BACK pads/compatible ? They're in stock on Rockauto
Thanks !

Can I use this motor for a 1/10 touring car?
I know it says for a crawler but couldn't I still just put it in a 1/10 touring car gear it up and run 3s or would it not be very fast? I'm just looking for a cheap brushless 3s setup.

Bank stocks rebound to quiet some of the angst There was a big weekend of news involving the banking industry as the Swiss National Bank effectively brokered a UBS (UBS 18.97, +0.77, +4.2%) acquisition of Credit Suisse (CS 0.94, -1.07, -53.2%) for a "takeunder" price of $3.2 billion. Additonally, the Federal Reserve announced a coordinated central bank action with the Bank of Canada, the Bank of England, the Bank of Japan, the European Central Bank, and the Swiss National Bank to enhance the provision of U.S. dollar liquidity while offering assurances that "the capital and liquidity positions of the U.S. banking system are strong, and the U.S. financial system is resilient."
So far today, the banks have shown some nice resilience. In fact, most are registering some outsized gains, evidenced by the 4.0% increase in the SPDR S&P Bank ETF (KBE) and the 4.2% increase in the SPDR S&P Regional Banking ETF (KRE).
Not all is copacetic, however. Shares of First Republic Bank (FRC 19.85, -3.18, -13.8%) are down nearly 14% after S&P downgraded the bank's debt to B+ from BB+. The behavior of FRC's stock today, though, is more of an exception than the norm, unlike recent sessions.
The better showing from most bank stocks, coupled with a stark reversal in the Treasury market from overnight action, some weakness in the mega-cap names, and some relative strength in the materials (+1.8%), energy (+1.7%), and industrials (+1.3%) sectors, suggests there is less angst at the moment about the banking issues than there has been previously. The Vanguard Mega-Cap Growth ETF (MGK) is down 0.3%, yet the Invesco S&P 500 Equal Weight ETF (RSP) is up 1.3%.
Still, that is not to suggest that there is complete calm about matters now either for one day's action does not a trend make -- but this kind of price action is a step in the right direction for tempering the excess volatility that has been seen in the market since the failure of Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank.
Be that as it may, there is a volatility event on the near horizon in the form of the March 21-22 FOMC meeting, where Fed officials will convene to provide updated economic projections and to decide whether to raise the target range for the fed funds rate or leave it unchanged. Currently, the CME FedWatch Tool indicates there is a 71.6% probability of a 25 basis points rate hike, up from 62.0% on Friday.
The 2-yr note yield, which hit 3.64% overnight, is up nine basis points from Friday's settlement to 3.91%, and the 10-yr note yield, which saw 3.30% overnight, is up six basis points to 3.45%.
The Russell 2000 is up 1.8%; the Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 0.9%; the S&P 500 is up 0.6%, hovering just above its 200-day moving average (3,935); and the Nasdaq Composite is up 0.1%.

2023.03.20 15:57 Gingio12 Building my first pc, budget build, any suggestions? NR200P case

Hi! After a lot of research, I finished my build. I just wanted to be sure everything is ok, so if you could give me an honest opinion or if you have different suggestions I would love to receive them!
Keep in mind: I picked these parts having a budget build in mind, tried to think about an AM5 build but couldn't find anything with a comparable performance/price ratio (I'm in Italy so no fancy discounted bundles here). Same goes for AMD/Intel choice, no preference but I had a hard time finding a mobo/cpu combo with similar specs/price. I would love to know if the cpu cooler and the stock fans are enough for this build, or should I consider adding more fans!
Also, I was undecided about mobo, I guess I'll go with the ASRock, but was considering also GB Aorus PRO if I found interesting discounts, any reasons why I should pick one over the other?
Also, any other tip is appreciated (accessories that are worth buying, things to pay attention to, resources, tips on how to better light up the inside).
Thank you in advance for your time, and let me know!

2023.03.20 15:50 PhilipCMS Enterprise Group, Inc (TSX: E OTCQB: ETOLF) Surpasses Analyst Estimates With Robust Earnings

Enterprise Group, Inc (TSX: E OTCQB: ETOLF) (the “Company” or “Enterprise”). Consolidator of energy service (including specialized equipment rental to the energy/resource sector) emphasizes technologies that mitigate, reduce, or eliminate CO2 and Green House Gas (GHG) emissions for small local and Tier One global resource clients.

The Company’s Q4 and 2022 YoY earnings against the equivalent periods of 2021 are nothing short of exceptional. And the Company said that Q1 2023 is also shaping up to be very robust.
Audited numbers don’t lie.
Take a moment and digest these stats. If you own the shares, you should be impressed. If not, consider a second look. Once viewed, take in the Company’s very recent Letter to Shareholders detailing the impressive growth potential of the Canadian Oil and Gas industry. Enterprise is a significant source of on-site infrastructure supply and management that facilitates growth.
Here are the numbers. The comprehensive earnings can be seen in Monday morning’s comprehensive Press Release (March 20/23). The most exciting stat compares the YoY 2021 per share loss of (0.05) cents to the equivalent 2022 gain of 0.05 cents: A 200% movement of an overall 10 cents.
Enterprise shares trade at approximately CDN$0.40. For Investors and Shareholders, the Company keeps its LinkedInpage up to date with articles, videos, and commentary. Consider a Follow.
As well, the Company’s YouTube page is very informative. There will be new videos later this week.

(1) Identified and defined under “Non-IFRS Measures.”
(2) The Canadian Emergency Wage Subsidy and Rent Subsidy Programs ended in October 2021.
To provide further comparability to pre-COVID operations, the Company has presented adjusted gross margin and EBITDA to reflect the results of operations without any subsidy programs.
Enterprise Group Growth Points: FY 2022
· Higher capital spending in the energy industry and increased customer activity levels have resulted in improved results. During the year, Enterprise secured additional supply and services agreements with three of its tier-one clients, contributing to improved operating results.
· The Company believes its stock remains undervalued as the Company’s book value is $0.68 per share. In addition, the Company has available tax losses of $0.17 per share and is developing a consolidated tax plan to utilize those losses. Management will continue to be aggressive in acquiring its shares.
· During the year, Enterprise secured additional supply and services agreements with three of its tier-one clients, contributing to improved operating results.
· During the year ended December 31, 2022, the Company purchased and cancelled 1,799,000 shares at $714,614, or $0.40 per share. These shares had a carrying value of $1.36 per share for $2,445,077, which has been removed from the share capital account. Since initiating the share buyback program, the Company has purchased and cancelled 10,057,500 shares at $2,391,560 or $0.24 per share.
· For the year ended December 31, 2022, the company generated cash flow from operations of $5,910,830 compared to $3,500,869 in the prior year. This change is consistent with the higher activity during the year — equipment fleet to meet customer demands.
· After year end on January 23, 2023, the Company’s common shares began trading on the OTCQB Venture Market under the ticker ETOLF. This listing will help to increase Enterprise’s visibility and accessibility to a growing audience of U.S. investors.
Bottom Line
There is the argument that Enterprise’s numbers are nothing short of extraordinary (use your own adjective). And the coming year, courtesy of increased Oil and Gas Capex spending, stellar management, and new clients with business expansion among existing, including Tier One concerns. As noted in the recent LTS:
Over one year, the Company’s share price rose 40 plus percent, from 26 to 46 cents, a new high. For comparison, S&P lost 19.4%, the Nasdaq gained 8.7%, and the Dow was down almost 9%.

It seems the Company is gaining horsepower, eyeballs, and growth as well as a proxy for the exceptional CAPEX growth.
Stay tuned closely, as Q1 2023 is coming.

2023.03.20 15:40 belangem $ENVX: Electric Feel

$ENVX: Electric Feel
I’m back! And for the first time ever, I have a LONG DD (well not in the sense of length, this one is pretty short in fact)! Let’s get this out of the way first: No, I didn’t "invent" this play. I’m not trying to claim paternity of anything. In fact, pretty much all my DDs come from other people’s ideas that I dig deeper and when my own research come to the conclusion that it’s a high potential play, I go on with a DD. Is this another Marc Cohodes idea like CVNA? Well, yes, my original "tip" for this play came from Cohodes but my passion for CVNA came way before he jumped on the bandwagon, thanks to my bae u/LordBrosephYoloson. Oh and I'm ABSOLUTELY NOT interested in the loss porn you might incur with this stock, so put on your big girls pants! Ok, now that we got this out of the way, let’s get to it.
What they do Enovix design, develop and manufacture advanced silicon-anode lithium-ion batteries for a variety of usages. Their unique patent allows for higher-density, faster charging and their BrakeFlow technology that prevents overheating and thermal runaway that you see in lithium-ion incidents where batteries catch fire. Enovix is also developing its 3D cell technology and production process for the electric vehicle and energy storage markets.
Management Enovix current CEO, Raj Talluri, joined the company in January 2023. He previously was senior vice president and general manager of the Mobile Business Unit at Micron and before that, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Qualcomm’s IoT business unit. Recently hired, Raj has already made some major moves since his arrival: received approval of their Gen2 Line and made multiple investors presentations.
There's a new sherriff in town
You may also hear a lot about their chairman, legendary T.J. Rodgers who was CEO of Cypress Semiconductor for 34 years. He currently owns more that 20,000,000 shares of ENVX and regularly adds significant positions over time.
The Stock Enovix was established in 2007 and became public in 2021 through a SPAC (I know, I know). They currently have a market cap of about $1.6B. The stock has been trading between $6.50 and $39.48, the former being early in 2023 when the previous CEO held a pretty bleak investors’ presentation and the later at the peak of the market in late 2021. Let’s get back to the recent moves: in January, the previous CEO held an investor’s presentation where he pretty much laid all the potential risks on the table: challenges of scaling production, challenges in having reliable production, potential need for additional capital, delays in the Gen2 production line. Some might argue they kitchensinked it to be able to restart from a clean slate (with a new CEO). Then in February, ENVX reported earnings and the message delivered by the new management was a lot more positive: they have enough cash to cover operations for a bit and are working on partnerships to fund production, they would get approval for Gen2 Line by March 15th and provided production forecast of doubling production every quarter for the rest of the year. Before going any further, note that this stock is VERY volatile. Swings of 5%-10% are relatively common.

Big drop on that investors' presentation, followed by slow recovery
A DD is impossible without mentioning short interest: Short interest for ENVX is 18% and S3 Shirt Interest is 15%. It’s still somewhat elevated for this type of stock with about 3 days to cover on current volume. Not great, not terrible.

Not great, not terrible
Valuation No, this is NOT a value play. Market cap of $1.6B, revenue of $6M (you read that right), EBITDA negative at -120M and negative FCF at -82M. All that adds up to an EPS of $-0.91. Gah!! Good news is that they don’t have debt. So you can see that this is a very speculative play entirely based on their growth but even more on their ability to scale their production while maintaining output reliability. The other asset that they have as a high tech company is their patents. There are currently no competitors that have a similar combination of technologies allowing for high-density, fast changing and overheating/fire safety.
Potential Alright, this is where the juice is. I don’t know for you, but when I watch those Apple events about new iPhone, all I’m thinking is "I don’t need one more camera on my phone, I don’t care if it’s 1 micron thinner, I just want the battery to last a full day of usage without having to charge it". Whether you do long flights, spend the day in an hospital waiting room or whatever else. I’m a big Apple fan but I don’t have an Apple Watch because no way I’m taking off and charging my watch every day. And it’s also why I’m shopping a new ICE engine car instead of an electric one. Needless to say, if they are able to pull off production, we’re talking of about 30% more battery capacity AND much faster charging in a use case for phones. One place they also excel is in wearables: even smaller batteries, that does not get too hot. They also have a technology that allows for multiple form factors that could be used in applications like VR glasses or smartwatches. There is also the security component: while traditional lithium-ion batteries are subject to overheating and sometimes catching fire, you can literally drill through an Enovix battery while it’s being used with almost no noticeable impact. A side benefit of batteries not catching fire is that it would be possible for ENVX batteries to be shipped through cargo planes. The other aspect of Enovix potential is EV batteries. While they are not planning on any production before 2025-2026, they are working on the development and samples of EV batteries. Of course, Enovix as a car battery would represent a significant leap both in terms of capacity and security (remember those Teslas catching fire). Still, even if EVs have been on their roadmap even before they went public, Enovix is first and foremost a mobile battery play.

Drill baby, drill!
Clients So, who are the clients? Well, believe it or not, it a complicated question. We do know of some current clients: Garmin, Dell, Department of Defense,.. However, up until recently, ENVX were very flexible with prospective clients, signing NDAs even preventing of identifying the clients. All that investors would get is generic sector these prospects are in and a ballpark of their market cap. Names that were rumoured are Apple, Meta and Samsung among others. It is likely that Samsung is expecting samples from Gen1 Line to potentially submit firm orders from Gen2 Line.
Catalysts For the stock to really climb up, the catalyst that the market is waiting for is news/development about their new production line in Malaysia. Subsidies/tax breaks from the Malaysian government, partnership with a client for the first productions, news on timelines, inauguration, etc. After that, any client announcement would be a big deal but it’s impossible to predict the timing on this. For smaller catalysts, there are of course analysts price targets/ratings and insider purchase (their chairman of the board buys A LOT of shares). Earnings are absolutely not a catalyst unless they happen to announce new clients at that moment.
Risks / Bear case Since this is a very speculative and high risk play, you can of course expect a lot of bear cases. I think there are two main risks above all the smaller one inherent to non-profit generating companies. First, ENVX could run out of cash. In fact, if they decide to scale up using their current model, they WILL run out of cash and will need to raise capital. The new CEO however has been clear: he wants to develop partnerships with potential clients to help inject liquidity in the company and thus offer clients a product fully customized for their needs. But what if no potential client bites? Well, in that instance, the only way for Enovix to get out of the situation would be to raise capital, likely through a share offering. The second one is less likely but has much bigger impact: what if they go through all of this, set up their Gen2 line, get a partnership or two, start production and then realize that they can’t reach their scalability goals, either due to supply chain issue or just insufficient yield? If that happens, I think the stock is toast. There is also just one thing that hurt me a bit when the new CEO joined the company: the decision to manufacture in South East Asia (Malaysia) instead of in the US. This type of manufacturing is pretty sophisticated but if TSMC can manufacture in the US and get all the benefits of it, why not Enovix? I guess the rational answer is in the level of maturity of Enovix and that they will eventually get to a point where it will make sense to manufacture in the US. It’s hard to find other obvious bear cases. Maybe if a competitor comes up with a battery that also higher-density? It’s not impossible and would likely not come with all the benefits of ENVX technology but maybe no one would care and would just go with that "other" new technology. Finally, their previous CEO still has 1.3M shares and since the split with the company was maybe a bit tense, I can see him sell his position over time.
Price Target I personally don’t do price targets. I give very little value to analysts targets but in case you’re curious, PTs for ENVX vary between $19 and $100. All ratings are either "Buy" or "Overweight"
That's A LOT of Copium here...
Positions Shares, a small truck of it for now. Wouldn’t play options on it, but if I would have to, I would go with something like ATM leaps I guess. After a big run recently, I would expect a pullback in the $10-ish. And before you SirJack all-in. please, please read the Risk section of their latest 10-K, I'm sure it will change your mind!

2023.03.20 15:34 MontyAtWork I've been through many Reverse Splits. Not a single time did the stock price recover. If Hedgies shorted it from $30 to <$1, what keeps them from doing it post-RS? Time for some Real Talk y'all.

Got into stocks many years ago with Pot Stocks. They almost all failed and I ended up holding big bags. Not to mention the broker fees for reorganizing my shares.
Dr Trimbath already disproved a CUSIP being a catalyst for shorts closing so there's no help coming from that. We already know hedge funds can short from $30 to <$1 so having a slightly higher stock price is no help either.
At this point, the only thing I'm seeing left for Bullish theory is that there's a chance that this is for a spinoff/merger, which is the Copium we've been huffing since last August and hasn't helped our share price.
Anyone else voting No to all? BBBY has had some of the biggest retail investment in it for 7 months now and the Board and leadership hasn't addressed us directly, hasn't taken questions from us during earnings, hasn't done any investor outreach, and hasn't even had fun and jokes like RC had with GME. We've got no information, no communication, no relationship building. Nothing. Now we're expected to just eat our stepped exit strategy by having a much higher exit price, with fewer shares to exit along the way?
Unless someone can give me some direct and definitive information about what EXACTLY is going on, I'm going to assume that what I see is what I'm getting: a board and company milking shareholders as a last resort to keep enriching themselves with their monthly paychecks while we all bleed out and pretend we can DCA down hard enough.
I'm a GME DRSed investor for years, I've been in BBBY since August. I've been on Reddit for 14 years. I'm not new to investing, this platform, this subreddit, or "meme" stocks. We need to do some real talk about how if something walks like a duck and talks like a duck it's probably a duck and not a golden goose in duck cosplay.

2023.03.20 15:30 Street-Finance-1162 Erste Bank Slaps The Royal Bank of Canada (RY:TSX) with a Downgrade

Source Link: https://www.stocktargetadvisor.com/blog/erste-bank-slaps-the-royal-bank-of-canada-rytsx-with-a-downgrade/

Analyst Coverage Change

Erste Bank has downgraded Royal Bank of Canada’s stock from a “Buy” rating to a “Hold” rating, which may leave investors wondering what this means for their portfolios.
What prompted Erste Bank (Rank#210) to downgrade the Royal Bank of Canada’s stock to a hold rating?
Erste Bank believes the stock’s current price accurately reflects its underlying value. This could be due to a number of factors, such as a slowdown in Royal Bank’s earnings growth, increased competition in the industry, and a change in the overall market environment due to increasing interest rates.
Erste Bank is also less optimistic about the stock’s prospects going forward, which is a combination of to concerns about the Canadian economy, and interest rates which are slowing down the housing market considerably, which could result in a recession.
Royal Bank of Canada is generally considered a solid investment, especially because of its strong track record of profitability and a competitive advantage within the banking sector, but there are risk abound that the analysts are concerned with.

2023.03.20 15:25 Gingio12 Last check before buying, NR200P, any tips appreciated!
