Loosely inspired by the /indieheads essentials chart, we are hoping to make a list of albums that are key to the story of pop music, as seen by our particular community. As with the Indieheads essentials list, we hope that this list answers some common questions that newcomers to our subreddit often have, such as:
"What are the best pop albums?" "What should I listen to today?" "I want to get more into pop music: where should I start?"NOTE: Some of you may remember an earlier iteration of the essentials project from last year. While our current essentials team believes that there was value in that exercise, after discussion, we decided to go back a step in order to get more input from the userbase. Read on for more information about how this process will occur!
But what is an "essential album?" We plan to include two different "types" of albums in this list. The first is made up of albums that are truly essential to the story of pop music. These will be albums with significant commercial success and influence on pop music as a whole. The second type would be made up of "sub faves" - albums that users of popheads deem to be among the best and most important albums of their time. This is so that the list can serve multiple purposes: it will will help people get into pop music as a whole, listen to important albums they may have missed, and get caught up to speed on what albums get discussed on popheads consistently. To give some obvious examples that will likely end up on the list - Carly Rae Jepsen's Emotion is one of the most beloved albums on the sub despite being a commercial flop, while Lady Gaga's The Fame Monster's juggernaut success and influence on pop means that it neatly fits into the first category.
The Process
As explained above we will have two types of voting. Initially, we will vote on 30 albums that are "essential for the story of pop". These albums can come from any decade but must be commercially successful to some degree and more importantly have made an impact on the pop music scene. This list will be comparable to the "Indiessentials" they have over at indieheads. Next, there will be voting for the sub-favourites. This will be done by decade, starting in the 60s and ending in the 10s. Per decade 20 albums will be picked.All the voting will happen in Reddit threads. The highest upvoted artist-album comments win the coveted spots! We highly encourage people to post explanations with their comments as this gives your album a higher chance to get voted in. In the case of any glaring omissions the essentials committee reserves the right to add or remove albums, but this will only be done in extreme cases.
The voting will happen biweekly on Wednesdays, starting upcoming Wednesday, June 14th. The winners of the previous rounds are announced in the new voting thread.
We hope to see you all participating in the threads and don't be afraid to already campaign for your favourite albums in this thread!
2023.06.08 16:30 Virtual-Concept-7880 Item damaged in transit, Mercari approved the return to get sent back to me. Now what?
I sold an item that was new in box and they got damaged on the way to the buyer. I asked Mercari to reimburse me for this item through their "Shipping Protection policy" which is supposed to protection up to $200. The buyer also stated in their return request that "it got damaged in transit". The original listing photos show no sign of damage.
Mercari sent me a generic response and approved the return anyways stating that the item was not accurately described and completely ignored the fact that even the buyer said it got damaged in transit.
My question is, how do I get them to reimburse me for this item? Customer support is terrible and I don't even think they looked at the situation or read anything. I emailed them again asking for reimbursement and repeated the situation, adding pictures of the undamaged item before I sent it. I am considering filing a BBB complaint against them. Any other advice or actions that I should take?

Over the years, Reddit has continually failed to develop and release useful tools to fight spam, bots, abuse, etc. It's astonishing to me that sometimes I will get a modmail from a user-created bot identifying malicious bot activity - Reddit does nothing against this. Here at FloridaMan we had to create a long blacklist of sites to reduce reposts because there simply are no native tools to do this.
Repeatedly, efforts to reduce harm and foster accessibility have been left to the community who stepped up to fill in the gaps. Reddit's failure to develop their own product and reliance on community support was, at the time, fine. Now they are seeking to crush these developers who helped build Reddit into one of the most popular websites in the world.

NewJerseyMarijuana will be joining in on the June 12th-14th protest of Reddit's API changes that will essentially kill all 3rd party Reddit apps.
On May 31, 2023, Reddit announced they were raising the price to make calls to their API from being free to a level that will kill every third party app on Reddit, from Apollo to Reddit is Fun to Narwhal to BaconReader.
Even if you're not a mobile user and don't use any of those apps, this is a step toward killing other ways of customizing Reddit, such as Reddit Enhancement Suite or the use of the old.reddit.com desktop interface .
This isn't only a problem on the user level: many subreddit moderators depend on tools only available outside the official app to keep their communities on-topic and spam-free.
The two-day blackout isn't the goal, and it isn't the end. Should things reach the 14th with no sign of Reddit choosing to fix what they've broken, we'll use the community and buzz we've built between then and now as a tool for further action.

What can you do?

- Spread the word. Rabble-rouse on related subreddits. Meme it up, make it spicy. Bitch about it to your cat. Suggest anyone you know who moderates a subreddit join us at our sister sub at /ModCoord - but please don't pester mods you don't know by simply spamming their modmail.
- Boycott and spread the word...to Reddit's competition! Stay off Reddit entirely on June 12th through the 13th- instead, take to your favorite non-Reddit platform of choice and make some noise in support!
- Don't be a jerk. As upsetting this may be, threats, profanity and vandalism will be worse than useless in getting people on our side. Please make every effort to be as restrained, polite, reasonable and law-abiding as possible. This includes not harassing moderators of subreddits who have chosen not to take part: no one likes a missionary, a used-car salesman, or a flame warrior.

The legit way is you have to drag the crosshair onto the enemy. This takes time and doesn't move in a straight line. Sometimes you if you are too slow, you die. If you are too fast, you missed and you're dead. If you're on point, you get a kill. If you accidentally aim snap one-time, you could be fucked. If you rely on the aimbot all the time, your player statistics are too suspicious. When someone reports a COD:MWI or MWII ban, do we scream "OMG BAN WAVE!!! STOP USING YOUR AIMBOT!!!" No, we don't. It's because of the anti-cheat behavior system. Some people will get caught but not everyone else. --- TL;DR There is no ban wave for Pgsharp. If there was one, Niantic would have already made an official blog post on their website announcing the ban wave. When people report strikes on my subreddit, it's only a handful of people. I have a end user that swears they were able to locate the file in SharePoint and select edit from desktop app, then share, which would bring up the option to email and/or convert to PDF and attach it an email. Now when they share it bring up the traditional link share portal.
