2023.06.10 07:05 NILPonziScheme What college football programs are hotbeds for innovation?
I was thinking about this topic the other day. Bill Yeoman invented the veer offense at the University of Houston. Jack Pardee went crazy with his run-n-shoot offense at Houston, putting up ridiculous numbers before heading to the NFL. Houston was the first place Art Briles unleashed his triple-option spread/veer-n-shoot offense in college. Dana Holgerson and Kliff Kingsbury both established their Air Raid street cred at Houston. Houston has always been a hotbed for offensive innovation in college football.
Finding a place that is a hotbed for defensive innovation is a little more difficult. Gary Patterson invented his 4-2-5 scheme at New Mexico during his tenure from 1996-1997. Rocky Long, one of the gurus of the 33 Stack defense, is a New Mexico alum who spent 19 years over four different tenures in Albuquerque. Long is going to Syracuse, but his protege/former boss Danny Gonzales is the head coach of the Lobos. Gonzales is keeping the Stack under new coordinator Troy Reffett, who was promoted from his position as secondary coach.
The 33 Stack has become part of their defensive identity at New Mexico, kind of like the Air Raid is for Texas Tech. Neither scheme was invented at either school, but it was embraced there and is part of their program identity.
Jon Heacock invented his 33 Odd Stack/3-2-6 scheme at Iowa State. Joe Lee Dunn invented the 33 Stack at Memphis. Urban Meyer arguably invented his spread option scheme at Bowling Green. These are one-off happenings, though, not a pattern of innovation over several tenures.
Which programs do you think are hotbeds for innovation?

| ➡️ https://www.genkicourses.site/product/chris-orzechowski-badass-black-friday-bundle/⬅️ Get the course here: [Genkicourses.site] [Get] Chris Orzechowski – Badass Black Friday Bundle - Full Course Download What You Get: Course #1 Black Friday Bootcamp This is a short course I created for one of my e-commerce coaching groups. It outlines the high level strategy you need to use to MAXIMIZE sales for BFCM. I go over everything from how to map out your promo calendar… what emails to send when… exactly when you should START and FINISH your promo(s)… and, most importantly… … how to STAND OUT and grab attention in an overcrowded inbox, so you can break every sales record. Once you watch this mini-course, you’re going to be pumping out high-converting BFCM campaigns in no time! Course #2 Make It Rain Monthly BFCM/Q4 Planning Call This is a special “members-only” coaching call I recorded with a handful of my top students to help them prepare their clients’ brands for BFCM success. I even critique (and edit) a few of my students’ BFCM emails during this call. You can look over my shoulder and see how I think about constructing these email campaigns and sequences – super valuable! Course #3 Make It Rain Monthly Issue #8 The Black Friday / Cyber MondayMEGA Issue Part 1 - My “A-Z” roadmap for creating highly profitable Cyber Week email marketing campaigns.
- The FIRST email you should send in the month of November, to increase the sales you make from every email you send for the next six weeks (I actually wrote this email for you. You can swipe it verbatim. Just swap in some small details about your business, hit send, and watch the sales start rolling in.)
- How to map out a three-month promotional calendar in less than 60 minutes. (Plus, how to come up with the topics to send, on which days, to the right subscribers.)
- What to do (instead of just giving a discount or giving a bonus) that’ll incite a buying frenzy, generate word of mouth buzz, create raving fans, AND could possibly lead to record-breaking sales.
- A breakdown of a collection of BFCM emails, including some from a sequence that brought in six-figures in one week flat.
Course #4 Make It Rain Monthly Issue #9 The Black Friday / Cyber MondayMEGA Issue Part 2 - The “Magic Box” Method I used to free up 25 hours of creative time on my calendar, so I could get more work done in less time, with less stress… and more time to myself.
- The biggest mistake I made as I began growing my team… and how I fixed it so everyone could perform at a higher, more autonomous level.
- How to finally get clear on what you want in life… and how to go get it.
- Why trying to be a ‘cool boss’ might hurt your team more than help it.
- One psychological insight that’ll make selling to ‘people with money’ 10x easier. This works especially well if you’re selling a high-end product/high-ticket service.
- One software that can cut your weekly call volume down by 70% (or more).
- The “AC” email promotion that’ll send your Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales through the roof.
- How to scoop up TONS of sales from people who didn’t buy from your BF/CM campaign.
- Why giving a discount might actually HURT your sales and turn off a large percentage of your customers.
- When to use a discount vs other types of offers in your emails (they both work and can both be used strategically… but you’ve gotta do this right.)
- How to instantly induce an “I’ve gotta spend money with this brand” feeling in your customers… even if they weren’t planning on buying anything five minutes before seeing your email.
- A breakdown of a six-figure BF/CM email campaign (meaning: we actually ran this for one of my e-commerce clients and generated six-figures in sales with it).
- A two-word subject line you can use on Black Friday to stick out like a sore thumb and get your subscribers’ attention… even when everyone else is screaming about their sales.
- The one type of campaign you should run if you feel like offering discounts ‘cheapens’ your brand.
- How to adapt this campaign for OTHER holidays throughout the year (like Mother’s Day & Father’s Day). I even riffed off a quick email hook you can keep in your back pocket until spring.
Course #5 Make It Rain Monthly Issue #20 The Black Friday / Cyber Monday2021 Gameplan - The SMS Sign Up Sequence that helped us grow an SMS list by 1,000+ subscribers while generating $10,000+ in sales.
- How to make a TON of sales on Thanksgiving… without pissing off everyone on your list. (In fact, people will be giddy with anticipation if you do this promo right.)
- A psychological trigger you can use in your copy that makes your customers go crazy for your products.
- Why BFCM21 is going to look very different than years past… and the changes you should make to your strategy to stand out in the inbox (and make a ton of sales).
- How the smartest marketers and brand owners are adapting to iOS14 and iOS15 (and the big shift you need to make to thrive).
- Will SMS marketing replace or kill email? My surprising answer on page 3.
- How to dramatically increase your EHR (effective hourly rate)… so you can increase profits while working less.
- Insights from an SMS campaign I ran back in 2017 that worked incredibly well… and got people asking us to send them MORE texts (it’s a cool approach you can adapt for your own brand).
- How to write headlines and subject lines that trigger INSTANT curiosity… that suck your prospects in and DEMAND attention. (Try this with your landing pages and advertorial pages and watch your click-thrus SKYROCKET)
- The #1 copy mistake I see most copywriters and brand owners make with ALL of their emails, landing pages, ads, video scripts, and more.
- Fix this one thing and you’ll be amazed at how much better your copy reads and converts.
- How to get your customers to ‘think past the sale’ and get emotionally attached to your product… so they feel compelled to buy. (Sneaky… but powerful. And yes, totally ethical.)
- 6 SMS messages that ‘primed the pump’ for our sales pitches… while making our customers feel a rush of positive thoughts and emotions.
- The secret to writing tighter, pithier copy.
- 3 copy principles for high converting SMS messages.
- Two simple examples of an SMS list building campaign that you can whip up in a few minutes to start growing your list.
- The Ultimate “Trojan Horse” campaign to get your customers primed and ready to buy from you for BFCM.
- The Triple Threat BFCM campaign calendar you should try this Q4. (Could it triple your sales? Only one way to find out…)
- What almost EVERYONE gets wrong about Gary Vee’s jab-jab-jab-right hook approach to marketing… and why it might be the smartest tactic to use come this Q4 (and beyond).
- 5 more SMS list building examples that can get you a TON of new subscribers while making lots of “easy sales” in the process.
- How to use email to ‘scoop up’ buckets of new buyers… even the people who DON’T buy from you.
- Are you scared of emailing too often? Check out the tip on page 22 that’ll reduce your complaints and increase your sales.
- The four core campaigns EVERY brand should be running on a monthly basis… even if you’re not in e-com. (I use this with my own list and it works incredibly well.)
Course #6 Holiday Sale Super Sequence Want to scoop up even MORE sales during the holidays (without the hassle of figuring out your promo calendar)? This Holiday Sale Super Sequence is based on campaigns I still run for my agency clients that generate anywhere between $30-$50K — without fail. Comes with SIX email templates, a quick-start implementation video and super secret bonus. So if you want to generate massive sales easily every time there’s a holiday… then this training is going to help you make that happen. This sequence is PERFECT for BFCM… but you can even modify it to run other holiday sales throughout the year. 2023.06.10 06:41 HKToolCo Thanks to a Fellow Taco Owner
tl;dr Some people in the Taco community are awesome.
So this afternoon I'm driving out in the middle of nowhere central NY eastbound on Rte 17 . I've already driven 8 hours and I have another five to go before I get home. I'm hauling around 1000lbs of antique tools with two anvils in the bed and the double cab packed to the roof. My left rear tire explodes at 65mph on a downhill right hand curve and I can barely get it off the road safely. Plus it's raining. So I get out, unpack about 100 handsaws from the back seat, and get the jack kit out.
I've changed tires before, but never on the side of a highway and never on a Tacoma. I'm assembling the tool to drop the spare when a 1st gen Taco pulls up behind me and puts his hazards on. He stays about a hundred yards in back of me and a bit out into the right lane to try to warn the oncoming traffic that there's a breakdown ahead. The kid driving (I say kid but he's probably 20s and I'm 46 so everyone is a kid to me) walks over and offers me some help. He said he was driving the opposite way and saw a Taco pulled over with a flat. He must have gone to the next exit a couple of miles down the road, turned around, and came up behind me. We talk Tacomas for a bit while trucks are flying by a few feet away. We get the tire changed easily in less than 10 minutes. I offered him some money as thanks, but he said no. I made him take it because that's a damn decent thing to do for a total stranger. Plus I had some good luck last week so I decide to pass it on. I can't even remember his name. I just got home safe. The OEM tire is toast with only 6k miles on it- there's a thumb-sized blowout on the sidewall.
Thanks Taco dude.

2023.06.10 06:40 PomegranateInner9390 Help Me Sell My Watches for Good Cause!
| Hello, everyone. I am Gary Staten, and I need your help. I have a lot of watches that I want to sell at a low price. Why? Because I want to use the money to build a charity organization that can help people in need. - I have always been passionate about helping others, especially those who are suffering from poverty, disease, or injustice. I have been working as a volunteer for several NGOs, but I realized that I can do more. That’s why I decided to start my own charity organization that can provide humanitarian aid, education, health care, and empowerment to the people who need it the most.
- But to do that, I need some funds. And that’s where you come in. I have a lot of watches that I don’t need anymore. They are all in good condition and quality. They are from various brands, such as Rolex, Omega, Casio, Seiko, and more. You can choose the watch that suits your style and taste.
- I am willing to sell them at a very low price, much lower than the market value. You can get a great deal and a great watch. And you can also help me achieve my dream of building a charity organization that can make a difference in the world.
- If you are interested in buying my watches, please contact me at [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]). I will give you more details and offer you a great deal. Don’t miss this opportunity to get a cheap and quality watch and to support a good cause.

2023.06.10 06:38 kirebyte [34/M] Neurodivergent & More
Hi there!
I decided to start introducing myself as neurodivergent because I have a hard time connecting with other people, I'm not shy but honestly masking makes me get exhausted quickly so if that's your case as well we can be weird together. I am currently in a relationship but we're allowed to flirt, not date. No kids (and never will want to have) and I'm looking for real connections, like good friendships, fwb, casual talking, you get the idea.
Things I like: playing games (board games, videogames, roleplay, anything really), drones, photograph, programming, 420 (edibles), making content, working on DIY projects, cats, marvel movies, animation movies, anime, sushi, pizza, tacos and gyros.
Things I don't like: getting drunk, smoking tobacco, body building (I prefer getting fit), drama, horror movies, high maintenance friendships (sorry my object permanence sucks)
A little bit about me: I'm a whitexican (basically a Mexican that looks white-ish), I like different styles of music, I make a living as an engineer (neurodivergent on STEM, what a surprise I know 😝), I usually lie about my age because everyone I know my age is married, divorced or with kids, not my case but I'm also tired of pretending. I would like to become a digital nomad someday because I'm outdoorsy and I love travelling and exploring. I'm Shintoist, Otherkin (if you don't know what this is don't worry, you probably don't wanna know) I like furry stuff and when I'm sad I like to play Minecraft while listening to podcasts. If you made it this far and you're vibing with me hit me up.

2023.06.10 06:24 paristorc I cant stop, please give advice, I have a food/shopping addiction and I need tips to stop
I need help from people who won’t just tell me to “stop buying food”… I admit I do have a big appetite but also I eat when I’m not hungry. Today I had a satisfying breakfast and went to dance class, I have a 3 hour gap between classes, so I went to the shops and next thing I know I’ve got KFC, I wasn’t even hungry… I use to binge eat bad, Im talking not getting out of bed for days, dishes piling up in my room, finding ANYTHING to eat, taco shells, sprinkles, honey, uncooked pasta etc. all I want is to not feel like I want food, it’s hard to do anything without eating, I can’t watch a movie without eating chips, I can’t go on a 15 min work break without eating half the communal snacks. It’s hard to explain, I feel like when I buy food or eat food I sort of black out then feel guilt for eating when I didn’t need to. It’s also caused me financial grief, even when I’m at home all day I feel the need to order food…. I haven’t gone a day this year without buying food…
Edit: I also always need large portions, having burgers for dinner? One is not enough. I want some chips with my movie? Why would I not eat the whole bag if it’s there. My only saving grace is grapes because I love them and eating a lot of them makes me so full, plus even though it’s sugar it’s better that binging chips

2023.06.10 06:14 TotallyNotAjay My take on why the Gokyo was formed the way it was.
Hello everyone, I've been thinking about the Gokyo no Waza for a while now and I've heard quite a few theories such as due to ukemi or due to complexity but as everyone has pointed out there are quite a few flaws in these ideas as well. So here is my contribution to this discussion in a mindmap and some thoughts (it is important to note that structuring this mindmap was an idea I came up with after hearing and deliberating on Steve Cunningham saying that the Gokyo is like a matrix).
Gokyo no Waza Mindmap So let's start with the first question, why are the waza in 5 groups of 8 techniques? This concept is briefly mentioned by Cunningham in
Judo mokuroku, syllabus, kata, where he talks about how in Chinese tradition there are 8 changes and 5 elements that constitute reality. Now let's be more specific, such as why is the x technique not in the y group. Well, I can't answer this objectively but I can give my opinion, which is that it's not about how hard the ukemi is compared to the previous group but rather a combination of how precise the ukemi has to be in comparison to its type of throw in a previous group (such as uki goshi compared to Harai Goshi) and which principle is being introduced in said group. As you can see De Ashi Harai vs Tomoe Nage, the Tomoe Nage is a different principle as it is a Sutemi waza and that's why it is introduced in a later group. But Tomoe Nage ukemi has more amplitude to allow the ukemi compared to a Sumi Gaeshi which requires uke to do a sort of dive when executed well. This idea in my opinion can be applied to the rest of the Gokyo as well.
Next, let's talk about why I formatted the Gokyo in my mindmap the way I did. As I read through the Gokyo I noticed that one or two new principle techniques (I'm defining principle techniques as waza that when slightly modified become different waza) were introduced while the rest of the techniques were henka to prior principle techniques. I believe the reasoning for each group only introducing a few principle techniques (the exception being Dai Ikkyo as almost every throw is a new principle to learn) is that this pacing worked well for teaching students principles without also ignoring how modifying the kihon would change the waza. This is why it is not too uncommon to see the principle techniques taught in a different order compared to the Gokyo (Such as learning O Soto Gari before De Ashi Harai) but the "henka waza" are usually taught in a similar way to the Gokyo (such as Tomoe Nage then Sumi Gaeshi or Uki Waza then Yoko Guruma). I made this connection thanks to reading
u/d_rome talking about how if he were to teach Judo in his dojo it would look very similar to the Gokyo.
I know that it is very possible that the Gokyo is not that deep but the importance Cunningham and the Kodokan Judo manual put on the Gokyo pushes me to think deeper. Anyway, these have been my thoughts on the Gokyo and my reformatting of the waza (note this does not regroup the waza it only offers a visualization tool to understand the Gokyo), please share your opinions and if this helped. I'm looking forward especially to
u/fleischlaberl and
u/rtsuya point of view on this attempt at deciphering the didactic of the Gokyo and if I missed the mark completely.
Thank you for reading.

2023.06.10 06:05 n111c Defeated Sabrina (mono poison hardcore nuzlocke fire red)
The psychic gym was much easier than expected. I caught a mild venonat, which I trained against diglets for speed evs. And despite having a speed iv less than 10, Venomoth reached 107 speed, which after badge boost is 117.7. Sabrina's Alakazam has a highest possible speed stat of 118 with a timid nature and 0 speed ivs.
My Venomoth outsped her entire team and 1HKOd with STAB silver winds and psybeams for foe Venomoth. My backup plan consisted of a gentle shadow ball Gengar, Venosaur, and a hyper beam Vileplume. Both Gengar and sunny day boosted Vileplume could outspeed and OHKO Alakazam.
But, while thinking only of this match, I lost half my team to Gary in silph co, before challenging Sabrina. I challenged Gary very under leveled and his Charizard incinerated Nidoking, Nidoqueen and Golbat. I risked a sleep powder from Venomoth and finished Charizard off with Gengar after chip damage from Nidoqueen and Golbat. Also, a crit tri attack dodrio OHKOd my Abrok.
Next encounters will be my Tentacool, Koffing, and Grimer. The next two gyms should be easy, so it's just Gary I need to plan for now.

2023.06.10 06:01 Sokatich111 Getting low on material here Coach!! Do something stupid. Luis, tell us how you are only 24. I need a laugh.
You all owe us for making you minor Reddit celebrities.
Suggestions
- Whiteboard goals for last half of 2023. Include revenue targets, vehicle acquisitions, property purchases, Mark Wahlberg and marketing plans.
edit - forget vehicles 🚗 and please don’t mention your son ( it makes us sad).
- New title for Luis - President or Managing Director. Human Resource Manager. Or DEI Manager. We need more Luis content. He makes us laugh.
- New Collab - perhaps try with Brendan Schaub, Corey Feldman, Tila Tequila or Scott Baio. I hear SteveWillDoIt is free. Maybe The Island Boys who did TFT.
- Exposing dealers. Similar to getting the AD employee sacked, branch out and start doing it at restaurants and fast food outlets. See how many of those disgusting “9 to 5” workers you can ruin. Thorpe will sponsor you.
- Night wrapping. You and Darby go out nights and find exotic cars parked and wrap them in your patented “Onthony” wrap. Great for clicks. That’s called marketing.
- The DUI Diaries. You and Darbs get hammered then drive around WH flexing your watches to the homeless. You drive and try to outrun the cops. We would all watch that.
We need content Coach. If you don’t start producing soon we will all move on to the next IG scammer and you will become irrelevant again.
Good luck!!

2023.06.10 05:52 meahghan how do you guys handle bars?
hey! i was diagnosed with celiac as a child, and i’m now approaching bar-going age. i really only drink alcohol that i know is gluten free (i know distillation makes it so some people can drink whatever vodka, tequila, etc. they like but i’ve been too afraid to test it). is alcohol cross-contamination something i need to worry about at bars? can i order a vodka cran without getting sick? i know this might seem silly but any advice would be very much appreciated.

2023.06.10 05:45 demon_luvr Conflict Over a Meat Taco
my mom came into town to visit me and shortly after she came in we went to get dinner. it’s important to note that about a month ago i made it a point to tell her on the phone that i wanted no animal products in my apartment, to which she agreed and didn’t question, seemed fine.
we’re at dinner and she ordered a carnitas taco and a taco soup (which had tons of shredded chicken). she mentioned taking the taco home because she was full and i was like well how would you heat that up? and she said with foil. i said okay, if you take it back will you eat it all? and she got pissed, like blew up on me type of mad saying i’m manipulating her and that no one will tell her what to eat at 60 years old.
after looking for hotels (instead of staying with me) she’s now leaving on the next flight out because it would cost the same. she plans to leave at 5:45am tomorrow and she got in at 4pm today.
currently sitting in my car crying and typing this out, i have no idea what to do. she thinks i’m being ridiculous but i think she is too. this is really disappointing all around and i hate it.
edit: i left out this part of the whole thing but after the taco she said “fine, they can throw it away” and pushed the plate away from herself. so she never even ate the taco, not even one bite. and as for the soup, she only drank the broth. the staff was concerned there was something wrong with the meal and made the effort to bring her a new serving of the soup with more broth in a separate bag. after they brought it, she left me at the table with the new soup. i brought it out to the car for her and she left it on the floor of the parking lot saying they could just put it in the dumpster. personally, i think this is childish behavior.
