I enjoyed it overall for sure. The suspense definitely kept me going. Like I thought Ted was this awful killer and I wanted Dee to save her sister, which what she did was a twist as well. I still felt bad for her dying the way she did tho in a way.
I did figure out that Lauren and Olivia were the same person before it was revealed but what I DIDN’T expect was for them all to be Ted.
Then learning all the awful things he’d been though. I could tell his mom was off in some way but the fact she was torturing her son and killing other little boys threw me.
By the end it seemed like he was finally at peace tho and that made me glad for Ted.

Hi everyone one, I (M32) recently found out my fiance (F33) of 8 years had an emotional and physical affair with another man for 3 months. It ended between them a month ago and she was looking to get back with me without me knowing of the affair. I found out last week and ended the relationship, we had two dogs and a house together. I told her sister she had an affair and have evidence of what she has done. We have split the dogs and are in the process of selling the house. I have moved back into my parents house and left her with one dogs. I still love her and I was so attached to our family and the life we had. Its killing me to push her away but I feel I have no option. How do you overcome the pain and the loss? She says she is crying every day, and is apologising for not 'handling things well' however at the same time she says she did not regret what she has done, she is also making me out to be the bad guy for reading her private letters which is how I found all this out and she says she wasn't happy for a long time. She also says I am being cruel for blocking her on social media, her family dog has also just died and I am feeling so many different emotions for her. I love her so much everytime I go to the house to sort things out for selling the property I burst into tears, I'm having to empty the house I worked so hard to fill.
It all started in December when she went away to her hometown in europe for 3 weeks (we live in the UK) she came back and was very distant I knew somthing was off but couldn't put my finger on it. In January I found her hiding messages on her phone, I didn't ask to see the messages but she told me she wasn't happy with me and the relationship and that she was messaging her friends about the problems we were having. I tried to communicate with her and we agreed to start working on our relationship to make things better. In February she told me she wanted to split up with me (one week after having an amazing valentines day together) then changed her mind so that we were just on a break to clear her head. I straight up asked her if there was another man and she said no and then gaslight me about being paranoid of her hiding her phone in January. Over the months of March and April (during our break) I worked tirelessly on self improvement to try and fix our problems, I took her on some small dates and hung out with her at the house making her feel special. We went away for a weekend together on holiday and spent nights together watching netflix getting food. Everything seemed to be improving or so I thought.
Two weeks ago I was cleaning the house and came across a letter in her office that was addressed to another man, written in Spanish. I translated it and to my horror realised she had been having an affair (mostly enotional) with a man in her hometown in Spain. I read that they met in December and had been messaging which turned into an emotional affair for months and had sex at least once in easter, she was also sending him photos, the guy then messed her around and they ended it as he didn't want a relationship. They were saying they were in love and the guy was promising to marry her. This whole time I was giving her space to clear her head it seems she was invested in this other guy until it didn't work out between them, it seems she convinced herself to come back to me afterwards.
I don't know what to do, I feel disrespected, betrayed, lied to and humiliated by someone who I trusted for 8 years. I feel like a second option/ safety net. I still love her so much and the dogs are like children to me, over the past 5 months I have been put through hell trying to convince her to give our relationship another chance and I have found out that for the majority of this time she was having an affair with another man. We were doing things together to try and improve the situation at the same time she was still texting this guy.
I have read all the details between her and this other man, which I think has traumatised me slightly, when I told her about the letter she was in shock that I found it. I told her I only translated a small portion, she lied to me and said it was only a one night stand. A few days ago I told her I actually translated the whole thing and know everything and she is really angry I read her personal and private letters. She is saying what she did wasn't cheating as they had sex when we were meant to be on a break, however during this break we were doing things to rebuild our relationship and had agreed not to see anyone else. And it also seems the emotional affair started in December long before she wanted to go on a break. I think she may have been trying to monkeybranch from me to another man and then it didn't work out so she came back to me.
Since then, I told her the relationship was over and took one of the dogs and moved to my parents. I am in so much heartbreak right now and dont know what to do. She says she came back to me as she realised everything we had and that she could be happy with me, and that I wasn't a second option but she is not properly apologising about the affair and she is giving me a hard time for reading her private notes. Pushing her and one of the dogs away is absolutely killing me as I love them so much, she says she is crying each day in the house alone and has no one to support her. I am a very empathetic person and it's making me feel very guilty for cutting and running out the house but I have no idea what to do. The day after I told her I found the letters I extended an olive branch saying we could go to couples therapy but she didn't agree as she said the emotions were too raw. She also said she did not want to sacrifice her freedom or privacy, but at the same time told me she is missing me like crazy. Its getting to the point now I am just making her angry and dislike me more by asking for her side of the story but she is giving any information.
Has anyone been in a similar situation can provide any advice/ experience? I am very conflicted as I am so heartbroken, still love her, miss the dog, feel guilty for her suffering and I am grieving the death of the future we had planned. Also scared of the future and having to start from scratch. The more I look back on the past 5 months there were many red flags but I didn't take them seriously as I loved and trusted her so much. She is saying she wanted to get back with me, but the mood is turning sour between us as we are selling the house. It would be easy for me to just agree, but I would also be humiliated as all my friends and family know what has happened to me. She is now acting hot and cold, ignoring my messages and still angry. I think I already know we are done but my heart is so attached, I feel I won't get over this for a very long time and it has shattered my self confidence and social skills. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Alessa loved the summer. The little place where she’d been born and raised was a boring, sleepy tree village that was all too peaceful and quiet for the young woman. Not to mention filled with the elderly and hardly populated with anyone her own age.
They lived on the edges of the land where the House of Artemis resided but Alessa had never got to really be free like her other sisters of Artemis.
Things were different when summer hit. Every year she made the pilgrimage to the capital Themyscira City for its’ countless summer festivals, all incredibly elaborate and bustling with tourists. Her first year as an adult also meant it was the first year where she could make this trek on her own and really enjoy the festivities to their fullest.
Thousands of women from all over the massive continent flocked to the capital during this time; it was always so exciting seeing all of the children playing in the rolling hills and large fields outside the city walls.
Not to mention all of the important High Priestesses and other officials who’d arrive to Themyscira City with their legions of Priestesses and other followers.
If you were lucky, you’d maybe get to see an Immortal too. Only Demi-Gods, as the Gods didn’t simply let mere mortals bask in their presence. Though considering that they were the original Amazons it was still incredibly exciting.
And in any case, the diversity of the city mixed with the diversity in tourists tended to make the Amazons forget about the…tensions between the various Houses of Themyscira.
Themyscira had once been a place to get away from the wars and squabbles of the gods, but after hundreds of thousands of years of development the continent was split between regions ruled by the different political Houses, each devoted to their own God or Goddess. Even the mortals were all descended from the Gods original creations, so Alessa supposed this made some sense.
But things had been getting worse over the past hundred years and the capital was like a powder keg even during joyous times such as these.
Alessa parked her pegasus Percy about a hundred yards from the front gates of the city, a heavy sigh left her lips as she hopelessly gazed at the hordes of people orderly making their way through the gates. Ugh, it’d probably be hours before she could get in.
She’d hoped she could have gotten there early but Percy’s wings had gone tired. Even then, he found it more fun to prance through the hills and Alessa had to chase him around for nearly a half hour.
“Ugh, this is wonderful. I’d be eating Tarhkaran Squid or watching the Daughters of Artemis marksman contest if we could only just fly over the walls. We’d likely get shot down.” The raven haired young woman rolled off Percy and collapsed onto the soft grass.
Only after a moment of rest was she suddenly greeted by the sound of heavy, thunderous steps. The Warrior Caste that belonged to Argos, home to the House of Ares. Alessa quickly jumped onto Percy and the frightened horse squealed as it pushed itself several dozen feet into the air to avoid the marching battalion of soldiers.
Their carriages were carried by several massive, gnarling beasts that were practically treated as pets where they were from. This was always the most intimidating part of the summer festivities to Alessa, representatives from the various Warrior Castes would gather together in the capital as a show of peace.
Amazons had once been a tribe of exclusively warriors in the early days, but things changed once they’d removed themselves from the violent and warmongering ways of man. For the most part.
She gazed in awe at the hardened soldiers. Black steel armor. Helmets that shrouded their faces. Blades and spears heavier than a normal person could reasonably carry. And glowing with various enchantments.
“Wh-whoa!” Alessa managed to gasp. The entire crowd of civilians parted to let the warriors through.
The Warrior Castes only seemed to show up to the capital more armed every year. She was surprised the Argosians hadn’t come with twice the artillery as anyone else just to flex their might. There really was something eery in the air this year. Some even called for the cancellation of the festivals this year. Alessa truly hoped her suspicions wouldn’t come to fruition.

Hello everyone! You can call me Janglesh. My timezone is PST, I’m a 23 year old multi para writer looking to worldbuild a greek mythology setting taking place on Themyscira, home of the Amazons!
This is an idea that I’ve been really craving to explore and flesh out with someone who loves worldbuilding just as much as I do! I left aspects of the world and culture and plot a bit open so we can come up with things together, and everything is also up to change if you have your own ideas! I’d really love to contribute to this world equally with someone and conjure up a setting and story that’ll really set our imaginations on fire!
The basic setup is that thousands of years ago, the original Amazons created their own realm to get away from the war between the Gods over who controlled the human realm. Themyscira is home to only women, the descendents of the original Amazons. It is a massive, fantastical realm full of amazing creatures and magic gifted to them by the Gods.
It’s divided into several regions, each controlled by worshippers of each God. Things have been peaceful but lately there’s been growing tension.
I’d love for this to have an ensemble cast, I enjoy having multiple character types working off of each other and trying out different dynamics. Obviously we’d still each have mains that we focus on, though.
General Requirements:
•Be an adult. The roleplay will be sfw, but I’m pretty uncomfortable with writing with someone who’s not an adult.
•Be interested in conversing and discussing the roleplay, as well as mutual collaboration. Collaborating and brainstorming together makes the rp so much more fun! OOC chatter is also appreciated.
•Be detailed and multi para.
•Be willing to write multiple characters, I will do the same. We’ll have mains, but I love having side characters and stuff to make the world and story feel more three dimensional and fleshed out.

2023.06.10 22:48 armando8778 How do you deal with vehicle issues post sale?

I’m in North Texas at an indie lot. We’re not a BHPH. It’s very common for small lots, especially BHPHs, to offer free warranties to customers for the sake of keeping them on the road.
My dad owns a BHPH. He sells ~$15-20k cars and he takes care of everything for a year. Transmission goes out? He’ll replace it. If the engine overheats he’ll replace that too as long as it’s within the first year.
I, on the other hand, don’t do BHPH and make a lot less per car so even the little details can kill me. Just today I had 4 customers with Silverados all suddenly have issues with EVAP sensors.
It makes me look really bad if I tell them to kick rocks or to go through the warranty company a month after the sale.
How do you guys deal with issues post sale? Where do you draw the line?
It feels like it’s impossible to hedge against every issue on a used car. I sell them with no codes and recon them the best way I can but issues still come up later.

2023.06.10 22:48 lucasmcaetano Tunnel Vision in all games after playing horizon COTM.

As some posts mentioned in a couple months ago, after playing some Horizon COTM, a "Tunnel Vision" effect went on, that being applied in ALL games afterwards. I can't find any fix to this, it's a very weird thing to happen.

Please note that I disabled ALL comfort and vignette effect, but nothing changes. Its like this effect is now enabled in all games for no reason.
Also, I don't think this is any "mind tricks", because every other person in my house noticed the same thing immediately after myself, and I didn't even told them about it, they noticed it themselves.

If anyone had this issue before, is there a possible fix to this? If not, I'm just returning it, this is a very expensive accessory after all.

Hi, I (15nb) have an older brother (22m) with autism who gets frustrated very quickly. The thing is, I also have autism but bc I've been masking it since I was little, I don't let it effect me as much. Genuinely speaking, me and my older brother are closer, closer than we are with my other brother (18m).
Obviously, my brothers are legal adults. They drink and smoke and it'll be fine. They're both in college and all that. I'm still in high-school and in my last term of year 10.
Yet for some reason, I have to shut up so they don't get pissy. I have to clear a path so they don't hit me. I have to do everything so they don't get annoyed at me.
But when I'm in a bad mood, they do everything in their power to push me. When I'm in a good mood, they do everything to make it seem like I'm the crazy sibling. I always have to make things right by shutting up.
Me and my brothers were watching Avatar 2 (I've already watched the movie twice so I know what happens) and my oldest brother asked a question that would've been answered if he continued just looking. I told him to look and he continued looking at me while saying he was. It was a back and forth of "look!" "I am!" playfully until he started getting aggressive so I started getting aggressive and then he ended up just yelling at me, whole looking at me, "I am looking!". As he said that the thing that would've answered the question, he missed.
My mum turned to me and said "just don't" to me. When I tried saying that he wasnt looking she just went "I know, but you know how he is"..
Like of course I know how he is, I've been having to walk on eggshells my entire life to make sure he didn't get like this. I have to make sure that he is the one who's calm. All. The. Time.
I've always kinda known but I don't think I had the realisation like I did when she said that. I have to shut up so a man 8 years older than me is calm. Autism or not, I'm still the child in our relationship. And I also have autism but no one but my friends acknowledge it. My own dad (who I never see) said I didn't. We can't get a diagnoses cuz it means we involve the school and I'm a good student so I couldn't possibly have it (/sarc).
It's just annoying how I have to be the bigger person when I'm the youngest in my house. Anyone else can have emotions other than happiness except from me and I'M the teenager and they're all adults. I'm just tired.

Context:
My husband and I rented a townhouse in March, 1 yr lease. We're in the middle of migrating to the US and finally got the news COVID-19 had been delaying.
Our plan was to live as long as we could here before I would technically "lose the visa". That's 6 months and would bring us to November. We'd still keep paying it @$300 a month because it's cheap, and we liked the landlords. My brother could stay here for the rest or not, whatever.
Now:
We're not fusssy but we've had to deal with quite a bit.
  1. The property manager was rude and made us uncomfortable.
  2. They're responsible for maintaining outside but don't.
  3. We went without water for a week, turns out there's issues with the water company and we NEVER HAD WATER FROM THE MAIN for montts. The water tanks had emptied. They ended up re-filling it with a water truck. This was April.
  4. There was a leak in the living room thru the wall and light bulb. Turns out the waste pipe in the bathroom upstairs wasn't connected? Or whatever they said. They had to GUT THE BATHROOM which took 2 days. My husband and I work from home. It was noisy as hell. This was May.
  5. No water again. End of may, about 9 days. They promised to refill the tanks otp then when the time came said it was a "misunderstanding" and wouldn't. We paid for a truck to come.
  6. Foul odor since the bathroom had to be gutted to fix that pipe. Today my husband flushed the toilet and turned on the shower and they both started bubbling. Now the toilet is overflowing and the shower won't drain.
  7. Now I see my shoes are wet. Leaky roof. The roof was "checked" when they dug up the bathroom...my handmade leather sandals that are no longer made are soaked.
Question: Is any of this grounds for termination? They're cool people but this sucks. I have my visa. It wouldve been nice to keep saving on rent but I can't do it anymore.

Hello All! I'm doing some basic polling and playtesting with an option I'm about 50/50 on for my game Project Chimera: E.C.O. currently in alpha development.
Basic information:
Players take on the role of a black ops super soldier working for a PMSC (Chimera Group International). The game heavily focuses on stealth and social objective completion over combat, ie, there is no incentive for combat, it's a way to achieve an objective, but it's the worst ROI since it is potentially lethal and consumes resources much faster than other methods and doesn't offer special rewards, also there's not really "loot" per se like in a DnD game. Loot is most likely to be information that advances the plot.
The game is crunchy, while easy to learn the core game loops (there's a 1 page overview that will get any experienced RPer able to sit for their first session and 3 points of entry: pregen, table roll/select, and full custom) it's mostly that it has lots of flexibility and character options, which is great for players that want that, but it's a known limitation it will not appeal to rules light/casual gamer preferred experiences.
The game takes place in a five minutes into the future dystopian mirror alt earth with cyberpunk and sci fi elements. Characters have access to things like advanced training, gear, bionics, psionics, super powers, feats, etc. A character's starting template doesn't restrict them, it just figures out their initial boosted areas, ie if you take the bionics aspect, your character will have more bionics than a general build character, you can still access everything else, but it's more a question of where you want the thematic focus of the character to be. All characters are baseline competent in the areas of stealth, socialization, survival and gunplay/combat (you absolutely can use HTH and melee with extensive options, but as one might expect, guns are usually more effective, though those options definitely have their place). As such consider these things to be relevant to potential players, ie if you hate stealth/social, prefer rules light casual, opinions are less relevant in this case because it's not a game built for that kind of player. The Actual Concern: Currently I'm considering removing the concept of a critical hit in combat doing double damage automatically and there's a good amount of relevant information: 1. Players have others ways to boost damage 2. This wouldn't remove the option, it just expands the option to more options. The concept works like this: Characters have 4 meta currencies, one of them is called Essence. This is a daily regen pool and is used for "enhanced performance" of some kind. Presently it can be used for things like a small bonus to a roll for a save, or gaining +1 standard action on a turn, remove a level of exhaustion, rally, etc., the point being it does have a level of utility. It might be also be used to fuel a special ability from a feat, augment a powepsionic, allow for a special application move, etc. Crits occur in combat (skills can also crit) similar to PF2e in that you can gain one on a nat 20 or if you exceed the TN by 10+ (in most cases, there are other ways to finagle this but they are niche). Essence is described in game as: Essence represents the total abstract humanity of a character as well as their general combined physical and mental well being, focus, and general willpower. It is utilized to overcome general limitations and perform above expectations. Essence is most commonly associated with the concept of the superego. The proposed change would be a character gains 1 essence (up to max pool, this can be spent immediately if it exceeds) on a crit, but double damage would cost 2 essence. A typical early level character is likely to have somewhere around 10-20 essence total in the pool (could be more or less but this is an estimated average). Some positives of this proposed change: This provides another opportunity for essence regen for players. This provides additional utility and tactical choice in combat (ie they might opt for double damage and spend the extra, bank it, apply a status effect instead, etc.), particularly because more damage is not always a preferred option. In many cases disabling an opponent quickly and without drawing attention is preferred over killing them, and in some cases capturing a target alive is the mission itself. This can open up other combat applications for essence use. Some negatives of the proposed change: Adding a player choice here can slow down combat for indecisive players. This puts more emphasis/reward on combat, which isn't really the intent of the game. Essence is easier to earn in game in other ways, but adding incentive in combat assumes that this is a reward for player behavior, when open combat is, by design, meant to be more of an "oops, we screwed up moment". With that said, characters are black ops super soldiers so the game is less about never being in combat and more about trying to stave off combat as much as possible and if you have to enter combat, doing so with control of the battlefield in a smart and tactical manner. This requires additional book keeping. Not a whole lot, we already have to track essence use, but we now have to consider that it will fluctuate more often (as part of combat). Why I'm split: The game is built and meant to be focused on providing experiences other than combat (ie the goal is to get as far away from typical game loop of "punch monster until it drops loot" as possible), but it would be fair to say it also has extremely robust options and tactical choice for combat. To be clear, the combat is highly tactical and has more moves available in and out of combat than probably any other known game on the market, but it's also not meant to appeal specifically to "combat only players" and the system design directly reflects this. Basically my design values are in a bit of conflict here. Obviously I'll play test this regardless, but I'm curious about: Are there additional reasons foagainst this? Given the premises of the game, which do you think is likely to be more fun for you specifically? For the type of gamer this game is meant to appeal to? Why?

So, got a recent home inspection and it came back with a few things I am uncertian if are common. The house is 3 years old and in a nice development. Any input yall may have is much appreciated. Really just trying to see if these are fairly common or big red flaags.
  1. The air conditioner was functional but did not produce cold air or proper split differential reading of 16°-22° Recommend licensed HVAC contractor evaluate.
  2. Service door sealed shut -- this one has a pic of the access panel and it looks to have some putty that has "sealed" it.
  3. Due to age there is no vacuum breaker at the unit. (water heater)
Other than those, there are some minor cracks in the stone/stucko outside but nothing out of the norm for SA Texas. 1 crack in the drywall inside, which is also not out of the norm for us, but I would take any opinions.

I am so glad Grrm included Daenaera! She is one of the best queens and her and Aegon iii are perfect for each other. She seems to be very kind and empathetic. Also one of her traits that I love the most is that she seems to be a good queen- not spending her time conniving and manipulating people behind their backs like Alicent. I think after Alicent, the realm needed a proper queen which they found in Daenaera.
But the thing that I love the most about her is how her harmless existence pisses off Greens. Ngl I love her even more for the anger she incites in these people.
The worst excuse that bring for their hate is starting that inclusion a 6 year old character is creepy. So, let’s take a look at the ages of popular HotD and GoT characters in the book: 1. Daenerys- 13 years old at the start of the books 2. Lyanna stark-15 and Rhaegar- 23 4. Alicent was 8 years older than Rhaenyra in the books
The ages of all of these characters were changed in their show portrayal. And I am glad about it. Especially since Rhaegar and Lyanna’s age gap was always weird to me; but the actors they chose for the flashback scene much older.
So this “concern” that the Green stans have is so stupid because obviously they will cast age appropriate actors.
Another “concern” they have is that Daenaera is too perfect and came out of nowhere. I am sorry, but that is so obvious. Obviously she came out of nowhere, she isn’t a direct relation to any of the main characters. There was a war going on, did they want a pov chapter of her? Lmao.
I think that once Daenaera became the queen, her perfection was able to help restore the realm and make up for the rot that the greens created over the years. She really was an excellent queen 👸. Obviously she will feel too “perfect” when you compare her to messed up people like Alicent.
Anyway, any “concerns” greens have are just their anger at Grrm not letting Jaehaera and Aegon iii together longer enough to have children. I am sorry but why would Aegon iii want to be married to a girl whose father killed his mother? And why would Jahaera want to be married to the man whose family was responsible for B&c? Ask yourself that. You already know what the answer is. This is a fake concern for the “wellbeing of the children”. If they actually cared about that they would want these two to never get married. They would hope instead that a Unwin Peake is removed and Jaehaera is allowed to live in a safer and kinder place- such as Oldtown. But if you suggest at this to them- suddenly this solution isn’t good enough because of insert another dumb green excuse here

Then he’s on house arrest and I gotta go home before 12 every night and he sleeps on the phone wit me but it’s okay for him to be up while I’m sleep but he says he falls to sleep after me . Mind you we went through things before … so ofc ima have thoughts . And trust issues forver . As long as I’m with him physically I feel like I’d be fine like before z his own family won’t even let me stay a night outta six years ! He’s 27 ! And all we do is sit in his pantry with blankets on the floor🥹🥹 and I see the same shyt everyday . We’re constantly arguing now . And when I try to talk to him he comes up with excuses or he be like stfu like I can never talk but he can .im going to make a video on how everything is and ima ask yous through this message and a video . Like what do I do . I don’t wunna be alone . I love this kid . He loves me to but it’s toxic . I just live for him and spend all my money on Lyfts here and shyt . He started getting selfish. 2023.06.10 22:47 Chainsawfam Here's how Eve Online can Survive the Botpocalypse

People don't want to admit it but recent improvements in AI have clearly killed off certain forms of online gaming. To give an example of this, I used to be an avid League of Legends player, yet I have stopped playing the game entirely for months now because at least 30% of my solo queue games were being decided by bots. Sometimes the bot throws the game, other times it players inhumanly well, clearly clicking a hundred times a second. League's developer, Riot Games, has seemingly given up on stopping the bots because there is no discussion of the situation despite it clearly costing them players.
Of course, we also don't hear much from CCP in regards to botting either. Now that chat bots are casually indistinguishable from the average human, it is impossible to separate a carefully managed bot from a human being. This is clearly having a big impact upon things like null sec wars and industry, where he who controls the bots and gets away with it controls the universe.
As bad as this is, gaming in general is doing just fine. Three of the most popular games of the past several years are: Fortnite, Minecraft and Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Maybe some people thought that building things would a weird fit for a Zelda game but it's been a smash hit. What do these games all have in common? The theme of constructing your own things and with the latter two, exploration.
This brings me to my first argument regarding how Eve Online can survive the Botpocalypse: more exploration content. I'm already mainly an exploration player as it is. I AFK mine the veldspar, then use it to buy exploration ships and to fund solo PvP content (Abyssals). AIs do not affect my gameplay at all. In fact, if I were to encounter a dangerous AI during my explorations, it would probably improve my gameplay experience, not detract from it. As such, this is clearly one of the ways forward for Eve. They need to start asking themselves how they can improve their exploration systems, which are already perhaps the best and most unique part of this game anyway.
My second suggestion is an even more modest proposal: legalize botting if the person wants to pay for a sub. Similar as with multi-boxing, you can't stop it anyway, yet if someone wants to fund the development of my game to run some bots, I say let them do it. Counter-intuitively, this might actually reduce the toxicity of botting. This is because one of the advantages of botting is that you are doing it against people who are not botting. If everyone in nullsec starts openly running bots for their industry and so-on, there is no advantage to those who are secretly running bots. Again, if this is what you want to spend your money on so that players can get more exploration content put into their game, you do you and I'll do me.
Perhaps there are nullsec players who hate this idea. All I can say to you is: I'm sorry but it's going to happen some day, no matter what we do.
My third suggestion is that custom station colors are a great idea but it needs to go further. Including a system that keep the themes of different races' ship designs in-game, at some point they need to let us start designing our own ships. Think of a hybrid between building a vehicle (or a giant robot) in Tears of the Kingdom (everything that is built has to be skinned and shaped in certain ways, so nothing really looks out of place) mashed up with the strategic cruiser mechanics and you have players building their own ships. As the number of ships in Eve only grows larger over time, it has reached a point where there are probably no major balance issues that would emerge in most contexts because there's arguably a ship for every possible niche role already, so letting players design their own ships (probably only for certain kinds of content at first, not for major battles) probably wouldn't unbalance anything. As such, maybe things like the large battleships, command ships and so-on would always be standardized for balance purposes but just as strategic cruisers are really flexible, making them even more flexible (and on down through destroyers, frigates and shuttles) would probably not change anything.
To summarize the essential message I want to get across here, the way to survive the Botpocalypse is to put things into your game that bots cannot ruin for other players. Exploration and creation are those things. Like, if someone wants to make a bot that designs ship shapes then fine, whatever. If they want to run a bot that attempts to hunt me down in a wormhole then fine, it gets a little slow in there sometimes anyway and there's like three thousand holes or something. You can't beat them but you can integrate them.

What it says on the title.
Scrolling through older fics in my fandom tag, I came across one with fairly… controversial tags but a lot of comments, which was unexpected, given the nature of the fic + the fact that my fandom is full of antis. Curiosity got the best of me, so I clicked on it to see if any of the comments were positive, but unfortunately, almost all of them were negative, with multiple of them telling the author to kill themselves.
To be fair, it’s been years since the comments were written and since the author last updated, so I don’t think reporting them years later will solve anything, since any potential harm has already been done at this point, but at the same time, I feel bad for the author, and I think those comments are definitely worthy of at least a temporary suspension, even if they were posted years ago. But while I’ve reported works in the past, I’ve never tried reporting comments, so how should I report multiple comments at the same time? Should I use the abuse report at the bottom of the fic, include a link to the fic and tell the Abuse team that multiple people are harassing the author in the comments? Or do comments work differently to fics?

I just placed the castle as my third house. My original is the cottage, decorated and fully upgraded in the glade. My second one is the dark castle, not decorated, just for looks in the forgotten lands and just placed the castle in the forest and that’s where I was going to keep all of my mannequins. I got the main floor all decorated and when I exited furniture mode everything disappeared. Anyone else have this issue? So frustrating.

Hello All! I'm doing some basic polling and playtesting with an option I'm about 50/50 on for my game Project Chimera: E.C.O. currently in alpha development.
Basic information:
Players take on the role of a black ops super soldier working for a PMSC (Chimera Group International). The game heavily focuses on stealth and social objective completion over combat, ie, there is no incentive for combat, it's a way to achieve an objective, but it's the worst ROI since it is potentially lethal and consumes resources much faster than other methods and doesn't offer special rewards, also there's not really "loot" per se like in a DnD game. Loot is most likely to be information that advances the plot.
The game is crunchy, while easy to learn the core game loops (there's a 1 page overview that will get any experienced RPer able to sit for their first session and 3 points of entry: pregen, table roll/select, and full custom) it's mostly that it has lots of flexibility and character options, which is great for players that want that, but it's a known limitation it will not appeal to rules light/casual gamer preferred experiences.
The game takes place in a five minutes into the future dystopian mirror alt earth with cyberpunk and sci fi elements. Characters have access to things like advanced training, gear, bionics, psionics, super powers, feats, etc. A character's starting template doesn't restrict them, it just figures out their initial boosted areas, ie if you take the bionics aspect, your character will have more bionics than a general build character, you can still access everything else, but it's more a question of where you want the thematic focus of the character to be. All characters are baseline competent in the areas of stealth, socialization, survival and gunplay/combat (you absolutely can use HTH and melee with extensive options, but as one might expect, guns are usually more effective, though those options definitely have their place).As such consider these things to be relevant to potential players, ie if you hate stealth/social, prefer rules light casual, opinions are less relevant in this case because it's not a game built for that kind of player.
The Actual Concern:
Currently I'm considering removing the concept of a critical hit in combat doing double damage automatically and there's a good amount of relevant information:
  1. Players have others ways to boost damage
  2. This wouldn't remove the option, it just expands the option to more options.

The concept works like this:
Characters have 4 meta currencies, one of them is called Essence.
This is a daily regen pool and is used for "enhanced performance" of some kind. Presently it can be used for things like a small bonus to a roll for a save, or gaining +1 standard action on a turn, remove a level of exhaustion, rally, etc., the point being it does have a level of utility. It might be also be used to fuel a special ability from a feat, augment a powepsionic, allow for a special application move, etc.Crits occur in combat (skills can also crit) similar to PF2e in that you can gain one on a nat 20 or if you exceed the TN by 10+ (in most cases, there are other ways to finagle this but they are niche).
Essence is described in game as:
Essence represents the total abstract humanity of a character as well as their general combined physical and mental well being, focus, and general willpower. It is utilized to overcome general limitations and perform above expectaions. Essence is most commonly associated with the concept of the superego.
The proposed change would be a character gains 1 essence (up to max pool, this can be spent immediately if it exceeds) on a crit, but double damage would cost 2 essence.A typical early level character is likely to have somewhere around 10-20 essence total in the pool (could be more or less but this is an estimated average).
Some positives of this proposed change:
This provides another opportunity for essence regen for players.
This provides additional utility and tactical choice in combat (ie they might opt for double damage and spend the extra, bank it, apply a status effect instead, etc.), particularly because more damage is not always a preferred option. In many cases disabling an opponent quickly and without drawing attention is preferred over killing them, and in some cases capturing a target alive is the mission itself.
This can open up other combat applications for essence use.
Some negatives of the proposed change:
Adding a player choice here can slow down combat for indecisive players.
This puts more emphasis/reward on combat, which isn't really the intent of the game. Essence is easier to earn in game in other ways, but adding incentive in combat assumes that this is a reward for player behavior, when open combat is, by design, meant to be more of an "oops, we screwed up moment". With that said, characters are black ops super soldiers so the game is less about never being in combat and more about trying to stave off combat as much as possible and if you have to enter combat, doing so with control of the battlefield in a smart and tactical manner.
This requires additional book keeping. Not a whole lot, we already have to track essence use, but we now have to consider that it will fluctuate more often (as part of combat).
Why I'm split:
The game is built and meant to be focused on providing experiences other than combat (ie the goal is to get as far away from typical game loop of "punch monster until it drops loot" as possible), but it would be fair to say it also has extremely robust options and tactical choice for combat. To be clear, the combat is highly tactical and has more moves available in and out of combat than probably any other known game on the market, but it's also not meant to appeal specifically to "combat only players" and the system design directly reflects this.
Basically my design values are in a bit of conflict here. Obviously I'll play test this regardless, but I'm curious about:
Are there additional reasons foagainst this?
Given the premises of the game, which do you think is likely to be more fun for you specifically? For the type of gamer this game is meant to appeal to? Why?

A recent Reddit policy change threatens to kill many beloved third-party mobile apps, making a great many quality-of-life features not seen in the official mobile app permanently inaccessible to users.
On May 31, 2023, Reddit announced they were raising the price to make calls to their API from being free to a level that will kill every third party app on Reddit, from Apollo to Reddit is Fun to Narwhal to BaconReader.
Even if you're not a mobile user and don't use any of those apps, this is likely a step toward killing other ways of customizing Reddit, such as Reddit Enhancement Suite or the use of the old.reddit.com desktop interface, even if they're not affected now.
This isn't only a problem on the user level: many subreddit moderators depend on tools only available outside the official app to keep their communities on-topic and spam-free. What's the plan?
On June 12th, over 3000 subreddits will be going dark to protest this policy, /grimfandango among them. Some will return on the 14th, while others will go away indefinitely unless the issue is adequately addressed. We have yet to make that decision.
The blackout isn't the goal, and it isn't the end. Should things reach the 14th with no sign of Reddit choosing to fix what they've broken, we'll use the community and buzz we've built between then and now as a tool for further action. What can you do as a user?
Complain. Message the mods of /reddit.com, who are the admins of the site; message reddit; submit a support request; comment in relevant threads on /reddit, such as this one; leave a negative review on their official iOS or Android app; and sign your username in support to this post.

Hey guys, after starting to OTP Urgot around a week am having a blast on the champ, but still there are some issues I need help with.
  1. Ignite sucks. Her's what happens - I do the flip, proc the legs, ignite them get the kill. Good, right? WRONG. Enemy has tp, and the death timer is non existant early. Now they're back, and I'm screwed. I can't push the wave cause passive got blown on the engage and cd is massive early. If I recall - I lose the wave if not two. If I don't - I get murdered cause i'm low health and an easy picking. What do I do here?
  2. Urgot is supposed to be strong early...how? Bees knees have massive cooldowns and they're his win con. I basically feel that before lvl 13 Urgot is more of an assassin that goes in, blows the legs and then hides under a rock for next 30 seconds.. And i have barely any power to push waves if knees are to be used on enemy champ. How do I win the early game?

Broke everything down into several sections. It's a bummer I couldn't watch/discuss while it was airing, so I'd love to hear people's thoughts!
Overall Thoughts/S1 Ending
I thought this show was a great ride. It wasn't perfect and of course was a bit unrealistic, but I found it was less soapy and sensationalist than many shows in the genre. For me, Kate was the star. I felt like they did a good job of explaining why she took the actions she took without villifying her or making her less of a victim. I could see why she lied in many cases, and how it was a larger part of her struggle to reconcile for herself why things happened.
I really liked Jeannette from the start and didn't read into the creepiness as quickly as everyone else did, I was rooting for her the whole time (although I was also rooting for Kate). However, at the end, HOLY **** that last scene messed me up, and in a good way. It definitely changed my retrospective view of things. I also want to add that I don't think it took away from the idea that Martin was the main villain. I thought it was a good and deliberate choice to focus on Kate and Martin's episode in E9 and not show too much of Jeannette, because it allowed us to really see the shitty things Martin was doing in their own light. And his final scene with the gun, I definitely saw as more manipulative than anything. I look forward to a rewatch down the road where I focus more on Jeannette's shitty ways.
In, the finale Jeannette accused Kate of never wanting her life anyway. It sort of got me thinking about how in the end, Kate sort of ended up with parts of Jeannette's life and seemed happier for it. She was bffs with Mallory, and didn't have as wide a network or was as popular, but was fine just smoking pot with her bestie. Jeannette's and Kate's journeys were an interesting trope on "finding oneself" (I put this in quotes bc obviously it was not a good thing that any of this ever happened to Kate). Also the ways in which this happened are super juxtaposed.
A few nitpicks
I was disappointed that the show often flirted with the theme of how women are believed/portrayed in media/are in their dynamics with men, but then it just petered out. It was kind of a backslide to have Jeannette and Jamie be endgame imo, not just because their emotional connection was not at all developed, but also because it was nice to see Jamie realize what an awful person he'd been, and see him own up to it without any hope of redemption. Jeannette is a pyscho imo, but I still felt like it undid some of that to see him get the girl, especially because I thought the earlier plot point of Jamie being awful to both of them and both of them seeing that was quite powerful. There were also signs of this in other dynamics as well (Cindy, for example). It disappointed me that the show introduced it but never fully capitalized on it outside of Kate's (very valid) fears of how her actions would be viewed.
While I loved the final episode, I also wished we'd seen a little bit more of the other characters, maybe a 2 hour episode would be nice. It felt like the dynamics that had happened got thrown out a bit, which was a bummer. I wanted to see a Derek/Ashley fight, maybe see Kate confront Ashley. I wanted to see how Cindy reacted to things with the trial (before the final Jeanette reveal, ofc). I also felt like the Vince/Ben thing, while cute, was super underdeveloped and either should have been given more time or cut. I make these criticisms mostly because they populated the world really well and had a lot of nice, fleshed-out dynamics. I thought it was a bummer they abandoned most of them at the end.
Hot Takes
Maybe public opinion has changed since the initial airing of S1, but I have to say I was kind of shocked at the Mallory (and Cindy) vitriol, and kind of shocked not to see more vitriol for Greg, who, imo, was an awful parent.
Mallory was an annoying, immature teenager, but I fail to see anything truly awful that she did to Jeanette. She was bossy and pushy, but was hardly a criminal - Vince didn't seem to have a problem with her. Jeannette wanted to transcend her dorkiness and be cooler, and she felt like Mallory was dragging her down. Jeannette's constant harping on Mallory for doing things that could get them into trouble while always breaking into the house was super gaslight-y imo and just as pushy as Mallory. I felt like Jeannette's aversions to Mallory's mischief was partly because she didn't want to be associated with what she saw as Mallory's cringe. Not to say Mallory wasn't pushy or ignoring Jeannette's feelings, she was, but I think she was also picking up on Jeannette pulling away, and doubling down out of insecurity. It felt like a super normal teenage rift to me and I think they were both being kinda shitty and shallow, but ultimately not in a super evil way.
I also don't think Mallory not telling Kate about seeing her was that wrong. Imo, Mallory's friendship with Kate did not seem to start out of guilt, in fact, I don't think Mallory intended it to happen (Kate was the one who invited Mal over for her birthday in '94). It was a sharp contrast to Ashely, who eventually genuinely cared about Kate, but also clearly felt guilty for pushing her away and adding to Kate's sense of isolation. Mallory not telling Kate about seeing her seemed in part due to her not wanting to drag up Kate's story inconsistencies, out of a place of protectiveness. As a teenager, I don't know that I would have known how to tell Kate that, either. Even Jeannette pointed out that Mallory hung on to the snowglobe to protect Kate. And Mallory didn't know that this situation was the one Kate was pinning on Jeannette, so I also don't think she was super responsible for that, either. Mallory was the only teen who seemed to want to be supporting Kate because she liked Kate and didn't want anything from her besides friendship. Did I like Mallory that much? No, not for a long time. But she grew on me, I really do not get the outcry, other than I guess people are thinking she's annoying.
My final hot take is that Cindy >> Greg. Was she perfect? No. But Greg was an awful, enabling parent. He let Jeannette get away with everything, and wouldn't listen to his own wife on how she wanted to parent, always insisting Cindy was wrong. When he finally realized Jeannette broke into the house, he dealt with it reasonably well, but failed to learn from the incident that his precious little girl was capable of keeping things for him. The way he (and everyone) treated Cindy was awful, too. I'll admit, I have a soft spot for the actress from Grey's Anatomy, but it was *really* hard to watch everyone in the family hang her out to dry. Jeannette gaslit her mom just bc Cindy was onto her, then continued to pound Cindy for "leaving me" even while we know that Cindy was still trying to be in contact with Jeannette. Greg refuses to listen to her and continually dismisses her basically until Cindy puts her foot down. On their anniversary, Greg gets flowers from a cute girl and is all dopey. Then, when Cindy leaves later that night, Greg goes, "On our anniversary?" as if he actually cared. As soon as he admits Cindy was right about Jeannette (over one thing), he expects Cindy to come back, without taking any responsibility for the deeper issues she'd communicated to him. Meanwhile, he just continues to enable Jeannette then get wasted and complain about how his life sucks for sticking by her, without even trying to actually question her or hold her accountable. He has a right to be upset, but he really seems to just like to blame all the women in his life for his problems then mope around and sleep with someone who gives him free alcohol. I also really don't think Cindy "abandoned" Jeanette, she left for valid reasons and tried to find ways to still be there for her daughter. I know it was the 90's, but people split, and it's not like Jeannette wasn't lying to her continuously. I honestly just felt so bad for Cindy, and again, it was a case of just, "Why do people dislike this character for the crime of being annoying?".

Since I sunk so many hours into this mod, thought I'd provide a sort of journal entry for my progress. This will be a long-ish post, so if you are not interested in my horrible life decisions, just scroll through and enjoy the pictures. I hope with this post, i can give some insight to the people behind me progressing in the modpack. And i hope to keep myself sane enough to keep going and write about my adventures to the next sci pack milestone, and eventually Pyrrhic Victory!
Background:
I started Factorio about a year ago, didn't really like it at first when i was playing through the tutorial, and actually stopped. I remember thinking "wow I just pipe water to the boiler, add some coal and my stuff are all powered?" that was sort of a turn off for me. But then after giving it another try, i decided to stick with it and try to launch a rocket.
I played the default setting at first, and didn't like the pacing. I found myself advancing too fast through the tech tree. I got halfway through Blue science and didn't even really have a solid production of the components yet and felt like i was drowning. I restarted with marathon mode and it really clicked for me. Letting me learn about the basics before giving access to too many toys. In that mode i learned about dual loading belts, blueprints, trains (signals and station limits), and making 'somewhat' tileable/expandable productions. I didn't get into bots and i don't think i will. I only used Logistic bots to refill my inventory from malls and construction bots to remotely adjust my mining outposts.
Launched the rocket in my marathon mode, and decided to seek more! Before i thought to jump into the big mod packs, i tried to do a marathon mode Space Extension game to learn about scaling. Wow that was not for me. I got incredibly bored of making the same thing in larger scales so i quit.
So i looked for the next best thing in the list. Saw this Pyanodon pack and said, why not. Jumped straight in.
The run:
I started my foray into PY a few months before PyAE came out, and was sort of glad that i did around this time, so i didn't have to re-learn everything. I didn't really get too deep into PYAL yet. I had a few restarts due to realizing a lot of my errors, and decided to stop restarting about the same time the Caravan patch came in. The Caravans were so much fun, i stopped having any thoughts of quitting the mod.
I started the game with the Py default settings (no biters and no pollution... my computer is old), and tried to keep it as pure as possible. The only mods i used other than the full PyAE pack were:
  • Even distribution (to save my mouse and index finger during the burner phase... clicking all the coal was a pain in the ash)
  • Vehicle Snap (There is a lot of driving in this game, i think that's what Py intended... for you to explore. I got tired of veering off and hitting my electric poles so i made 1 tile wide brick "highways" to aid my driving, and use the mod to snap in the cardinal directions)
  • To-Do list (I actually didn't use this mod much... i felt like i needed a to-do list to write the to-do list, so i gave up trying to make use of this)
  • Playtime+ (Time flies fast when you're having fun. And this lets you see that :))
Since the devs of this mod pack revel in pain and suffering, i thought by keeping it as lean as possible, it would fulfill that goal. I've never used any of the other recipe searching or planning or calculator mods, i'll explain it later on if i remember....
*Sidenote about RSO* The base game resource generation is a bit janky when it comes to PY. I had to roll the map a few times because i'd say 5/10 the starting resource patches would overlap and you'd have an impossibly hard start if there's not enough iron or copper. While RSO solves this, it messes up spawning of the farther resources (So you can get unlucky and have no Zinc spawn closeby, but also on the flip side, lucky and trivialize the early game power puzzle if you get a Geothermal water spot that spawn 3-5 patches in a spot, you can run a centrifuge without any powerplans if you get 3-4 spots of 3-5 patches of geothermal! [Py default will only spawn 1 as they are very powerful in early science])

Here's the full map that i've explored. To find far resources (Salt/sulfuGeothermal etc.) i set up a fishturbine+radar in the 4 cardinal directions, let them scan fully, then move them clockwise to the intercards, let them scan, and etc. it was quite effective.

Base showcase: K enough babbling, onto the important stuff.

Start with the achievement - Py Sci 2 automated. I was going to get it under 190 but i forgot to ship my mechanical parts lol.

A better view of the area. Primers, Retrovirus&DNA Polymerase, Good alien Sample and Py Sci 2. Eventually i might export science packs through that pre-planned train station (i.e. move PY sci 2 to Chem sci). Borders with the Arqad area since i needed vrauk cocoons and Arqad Venom

Self sustained Arqad area. Makes its own ingredients for Vrauks and its food. I ship in Ralesia/Flora and Tin with Caravans, and have a train station bringing in red-hot coke and the Arqad combs

Further down south from Arqad, i have my Korlex milk (& Casein/Tuuphra), Zipir, Paragen, Flavanoid makers. I had a tiny amount of fish makers here and quickly realized that it was quickly overwhelmed... had to expand another fish factory. The line of biomass will eventually reach my intended biomass processing area. For now it is not backing up anything (got one of those 800 slot warehouses holding animal parts [see my log sci area later]. I will make that biomass processing area soon....

Further away, at another tin patch, i started a fish factory. Here is also where i tried to play with the Aerial Discharge base. They are quirky but sorta not that worth it. I use 3 to go between this tin outpost (steam to mine) and my glassworks outpost to make steam to process tar (next screen)

I realized that glass is getting used more and more and i needed to ship it (Mech parts, Biosamples, etc.) So eventually i had to create this little outpost where it receives overflow fuels (Petroleum and Gasoline) and also on site tar processing and burn all the fuel byproducts (Anthracene, aromatics, carbolic etc.) I ship out the pitch and creosote to help make red science bricks and sand casting and rails. The Aerial base here is the other end of the path from the Tin patch for fish. Steam is used to break down tar. I ship in syngas to power the oil burner for steam with an underflow.

Biosample and redhot coke to the Arqad/Py Sci 2 area from before. I never automated Biosample before this (can easily hand craft for the initial ones for synthesis of Alien Life). Caravans bring in Titanium/Steel and Lead. Train ships in glass. At this point i started REALLY voiding stuff since it was getting too complicated to hook them all up to be used. Yes i can bring this muddy sludge to my moss area but it was not worth it. I never void anything with fuel values though (Except trace hydrogen in remote spots) since you can easily hook it up to overflow to a oil burner -> Steam engine.

On to the best part (in my opinion). My Mechanical Parts 1 subfactory. I use 6 caravans here. My rationale is that these ingredients are used in small amounts, so 200 brains (200 round trips) of 1500+++ ingredients each trip should last me a life time. I ship in: Quartz Ore, Green circuits, Zinc plate, Rubber, Solder, and Tin plates. The Small parts and copper caravan outposts are exporter stations. I ship in glass from rails, make plastic from the wastewater from the Fish factory you saw earlier. AND....

I have a 'Janktown Express' train that brings in 4 obscure ingredients to the Mech parts factory. It brings in Titanium (just because its in the area) with the three ingredients requiring Antimony Oxide - Vitreloy (Brakes), Iron-Nex-Antimony (Shaft) and Lead-Antimony (Batteries).

This is the original 'Janktown Express'. My very first train that i used to take 4 components to the Logistic Science area from the Antimony area. To this day this train is still on its own rail line and not connected to the main rail grid. Sorta like those 100 year old historic trolley trains that run through a main City.

Onto the other parts of my base, if you're still interested.

Here's the Logistic sci factory area that the Janktown express drops off the 4 components to. The Auog/vrauk slaughter houses are just south and ships all the chopped up parts into a giant warehouse where it supplies the animal sample maker. Circuitry sends overflow parts to the composter for biomass. Cottonguts and Moondrops are just north (not pictured)
Here's my Niobium area that i rushed since i was DYING for the niobium underground pipes. (Not sure if you noticed how much F-in pipes i have in my base yet). It's coupled with the oil sands processing area where i turn oil sands into Syngas. I like this avenue because it let's me use up all the waste products in my base. (Most) stone, and all gravel and sand are shipped here to make Filtration media/Activated Carbon. Stone is crushed into Gravel and excess gravel crushed into sand. Activated carbon turns the flue gas that Oil Sand processing produces into Syngas, and Filtration media turns the Bitumen from Oil sands into Syngas as well. It does mean i cannot burn syngas for nothing (like just using it as fuel for glass/smelters) as it WILL eat up all the stone/gravel/sand. Also have to ship in Zinc and Carbon Dust (from my Coal power plant area) via caravans

Py Sci 1 maker with some landfill spaghetti before i was able to reliably mass produce landfill. I vent chlorine here since there's no good use for it (yet), and you will get A TON of it from NaOH.

Here's the bulk of my power generation. I have only 3 geothermal deposits so far but even they are not able to power one centrifuge. (3 geo = ~150MW, 1 centrifuge = 207MW). This power plant provides 118x6 MW, produces ash in big quantities (and ships them out). Coal processing lets me mass produce coke through Red Hot Coke, and tons of coal dust for the Filtration Media area from before. I ended up making trees here, i think it was because of Coke -> CO2. I originally wanted to make bricks here as well (ash -> rich clay) for when i really need to jack up red science but i never followed through... i think it was not as efficient use of ash as i thought. I ship out coke here for train fuel, since you will make a LOT of them. Also i ship out hot air here as well to the smelter area.

I really appreciate the tar deposits since there's a very simple tech that lets you make simple power setups. Tar + Vacuum = Coke + Heavy oil will let you run both Oil and Coal power plants to make power in a compact setup. the Tar deposits don't look like they will run out anytime soon either. I might make more of these tar deposits around the map later on. (I haven't touched crude oil yet, but will probably do so next). Nat gas (the last of the 3 bitumen seep resources) is required for Arqads.

and Finally, a wide shot of the (starter) centre of my base, based around the crashed ship. This shows the seaweed/moss/ralesia areas better as well as the Auog/Vrauk areas, and Cottongut/Moondrop areas up top. The middle right side area was a LOT more congested with early smelting but i eventually moved them out to another area. Yes there's a lot of slaked lime pooled up that i am waiting for the next research (salt products) to use them. (Hope you like the creative use of landfill to cross lakes).
Final Word:
Some regrets that i had, and thought i'd share:
  • I really liked Caravans since they had near instant transfer (Faster than any stacked inserters... 1500 items per swing!). But i think i had a misguided vision when i used them for delivering raw ores to my smelting lines. They will require more maintenance from me (putting brains/food in them) as usage goes up. I am not looking forward to squeezing trains in to replace those caravans. But caravans for low quantity items are still amazing for their simplicity.
  • I probably automated Py sci 2 too early? I still have a lot of Log sci techs to go lol. Still have Phosphorous, MIBC, Molybdenum, guar and lubricant techs to research (and the TURD upgrades, if im interested in any). I remember i was completely done with Py1 sciences before i got my first Log sci pack at around 50 hours.
  • I hopped into Quartz 2 WAY TOO EARLY. i totally underestimated the amount of fine sand you need. My god you need a lot. It really crippled my petri dish making capabilities (and then crippled my Py Sci 1). I made a ton of sand makers and then ended up with a billion muddy sludge, and i finally gave in to voiding it indiscriminately (Overflow valve -> sinkhole). This might be the reason why i still have so many log sci techs to research. I will likely hook up the glass outpost to dump molten glass to my py sci 1 area before long.
  • Not taking the time to learn and figure out how to deal with creatures that use 10++ barrels of liquids and barreling machines. I had my arqad/korlex facilities back up so many times because the barreling machine was full and they could not take out any more empty barrels causing a jam. I think eventually i realized that those facilities do not start taking any ingredients in until it shits out all the empty barrels. Once i started paying attention to this fact, i was able to solve this headache.
Some words for the dev team:
  • This modpack is amazing. I think not using any QOL mods really makes this modpack shine. I believe using calculators or recipe searchers, just basically turn this masterpiece into building Ikea furniture. I.e. you look up Py Sci 2, it spells out exactly what you need to make it and which buildings, and then you just follow it to the tee, place them one after the other, hook them up and voila, you (after a long time) have Py Sci 2.
  • The buff to reinforced concrete, while INCREDIBLE (i can zip from one side of my base to the other, and don't have to rely on a car and avoid crashing into my own shit), made all the other cool tiles obsolete. Reinforced concrete is comparably much easier to make, and give the max speed (350%), while the other tiles (asphalt/iron oxide tile/etc.) give only 250% or matches the 350%. The higher tier cooler tiles should go up to even 500%. Also, i am not sure if the better tiles give faster driving speeds too? that would be nice too (if you don't rely on trains to get around).
  • Caravans. Whoever made Caravans able to path through trees and pipes, made these guys so much fun to use. I remember before this minipatch, i had to design my buildings in ways that the caravan ogres don't get stuck. Now they almost always are able to find a way through unless you put overflow/underflow valves in tight pipe setups or they get stuck on another caravan lol.
  • Solar and Tidal power seems a bit weak (at least at mk1). They are a pain to make and only give 5?MW (AND variable). Maybe if you bite the bullet and make a TON of them right when it makes sense to, it will pay off eventually, but so far the coal and oil powerplants overshadow the renewables. I assume when i get the processed biomass up and running it will be one more strike against Solar and Tidal.
Finally, i hope to continue this amazing modpack and maybe one day make that "PY COMPLETED" post like some of you have done so already. I really cannot believe how fast those guys who posted the PY COMPLETED posts have beaten this pack! PYAE only came out in december 2022? I cannot remember how many times i open the game, look at one of the recipes and immediately went to bed. I think it there were a good 3 or 4 times where i opened up the recipe for Good Alien Samples at night after coming home from work, take a look, and just shut the game down.
