First of all, I want to thank everyone who shares their stories here in great detail, I found it both compelling that I should take my health seriously, but also reassuring that generally speaking the procedure is safe if done by a highly qualified professional.
The prep was Gavilyte and it was slimy compared to what I expected (vs salty), but I just chased it with Gatorade after every sip. I went through as much Gatorade as I did prep, it was about 1:1, so buy just as much Gatorade if you have a bad gag reflex with gross stuff like me. 4 doses in, I still hadn’t gone yet, and I was behind schedule because I just couldn’t bring myself to drink 8oz every 10-20 mins. Nonetheless I started at 6pm and was finished by 8:45. I continued to go over and over until about 11:30pm when I laid down to sleep. It was clear by the end of the night. 4:30AM I wake up to start for the second dose, this time it went right through me and I was going within 15 mins instead of an hour life the first dose the night before. The first movement of the morning was back to looking like a bowel movement. I powered through the prep and finished all but 3 oz. I pushed right up to the liquid cutoff 2 hrs before procedure. 7:30-9:30 I was still going but it was clear again by the time I left home.
My procedure was done at an ambulatory clinic in a nice suburb, close enough to a hospital for support if unlikely complications unfolded, but with the higher quality of care and consistency that you get from a career professional who owns the business for decades. The staff answered all of my questions pre-op, I asked about sterilization procedures per the 2015 John Hopkins study about 71% of scoped still having bacteria after “cleaning”, and they explained their tedious practices for hand scrubbing every crevice of the scopes unlike “dishwashing machine” style machines that wash them in a static state. They were thorough in covering my medical history, symptoms, and questions about diet and risk management for the future. I was sedated and faintly remember watching the screen at the very end and being told “we didn’t find anything you’re all clear!” I was moved to recovery and that part is also missing, but once I was seated upright and left to pass gas I snapped out of it fairly quickly and had clarity of thought and memory back. My energy was normal and by the time we were driving away I felt back to normal like the whole thing never even happened. They presented me with paperwork on the way out summarizing the results, with screenshots.
Ultimately, I have three points to share.
1) I am 35M and had ambiguous symptoms. I read endlessly on the internet and convinced myself I surely had cancer. I did not. I had a negative fit Test. I was discouraged by many doctors across many years from getting a colonoscopy. I got one anyway. I am glad I did, even though nothing was found. I will gladly waste a day, $1300, and take a small risk of complications to know I’m not missing the window of opportunity to stop cancer in it tracks early before it gets started or progresses to a late stage with chemo, radiation, and surgery required.
2) my best friend died at 24 of CRC and my grandfather had it in his mid 60’s. I understood my risks and the implications of waiting too long. This created bias for me but my risk is real. Being an MUTYH carrier and having an impacted stool/hemorrhoids, flattened stool, and reducing stool caliber were enough factors to make my choice. The more I talked to friends, family, and colleagues, the more I discovered many of them had colonoscopies that saved their lives and they are only here today because of that intervention.
3) I read endlessly about the procedure risks and complications. This was counterproductive, and, while good to know, it ultimately magnified low probabilities and needlessly terrified me for months until I could get the scope. Know the risks, but weight those odds against the other odds- like 1:20 lifetime odds of CRC. It goes up from there with things like family history. I read every possible complication and statistic and almost chickened out, but then I decided to trust the numbers. 1:1000 chance of perforation, or 1:7 lifetime odds CRC shows up (due to family history).

Jesus taught that those taken away aren’t raptured to glory; they are delivered over to the death that awaits them. He was talking about those who do not belong to Him being judged by Him.
“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.” – Jesus Christ, recorded in Matthew 24:9-13
Jesus taught us time and time again that the end-times saints would be put to death, not carried away from trials and tribulations. We must endure these trials and tribulations, and continue to serve Him through them.
And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years. – Revelation 20:4-6
How could we be beheaded if we have been raptured away to heaven? It just doesn’t make any sense. So what about a post-tribulation rapture? Well, let’s look at the fifth seal.
Fifth Seal: The Cry of the Martyrs
When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held. And they cried with a loud voice, saying, “How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” Then a white robe was given to each of them; and it was said to them that they should rest a little while longer, until both the number of their fellow servants and their brethren, who would be killed as they were, was completed. – Revelation 6:9-11
Think about what this is teaching us, the saints who are killed before the fifth seal are told that they must wait for the rest of the saints to be killed. And we are told that work will be completed. This leaves no room for a post-tribulation rapture*.*
The second passage often used to support rapture theology is 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18. Paul writes, “But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.
For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.”
First: Paul is writing to the church in Thessalonica to comfort them. Some of their loved ones had died (he calls it “fallen asleep”) and he wants them to have hope. He wants to anchor them to the hope of Christ’s return and the resurrection of the dead.
Second**:** It’s very important to remember that Paul had no knowledge of the Revelation of Jesus Christ, as that wisdom was not imparted for another forty years. And even then, the vision was given to John, not Paul**.**
Third: We must remember that not even Jesus Christ Himself knew the day or the hour of his return. That is the key to understanding why Paul said, “We who are alive and remain.” For all Paul knew, Jesus was coming coming in a month’s time!
Are you wondering about what Jesus meant by escaping the things to come? That is not the entirety of His sentence. We must take the full sentence in to understand what He was saying.
“Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.” – Jesus Christ, recorded in Luke 21:36
If we are deceived into worshipping the beast, then we will not be able to stand before the Son of Man. If we are tempted into worshipping the beast, then we will not be able to stand before the Son of Man. Therefore, pray that you are not deceived or led into temptation, but that you are delivered from evil**,** and then you will be able to stand before the Son of Man**.**
Scripture makes it clear, we won’t escape physical death in this world. We can escape the great deception, and escape from worshipping the beast. Then we will be able to stand before the Son of Man. But make no mistake about it, that escape comes in the form of our earthly deaths.
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. – Revelation 12:11
“He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.” – Jesus Christ, recorded in John 12:25

Who started rapture ideology, and what kind of men were they?

John Darby and C. I. Scofield had ties to the occult and no formal training. Does formal training mean men are true anyway? Certainly not, (religious leaders vs John the Baptist, and Jesus) but these men wrote their own versions of the Bible, and even started a seminary here in America!

So as some gamers know the new game Outlast Trials came out recently and has a max up to 4 players. I’ve been raving about this game for almost over a year and told my friends about it. I’ve loved all of the outlast games and was very excited about the newest one being multiplayer. My friends had no idea what it was prior to me telling them about it. So earlier one my friends, let’s call her Trina, said let’s play Outlast. We both downloaded it in a heartbeat and was waiting for our friend, “John.” John had told us that he was just finishing a match in another game. We waited for almost an hour and a half just in lobby and then I told Trina that I was just going to do something really quick and to text me when he finally joins. So she texts me saying he’s in and I was in the bathroom at the time. I respond saying Ok I’ll be right there. After 5 min, I get back to my computer and our other friend (who was playing with John earlier in another game ) just hopped on and was like “I want to try the game” and kicked me out to make room for him. We were already a 4 stack and removed me so he could play. I was so pissed off. I waited for an hour and half just to be kicked off for someone else. I was so excited to play with them. I was even the one who suggested we play this game and they would just kick me off. It’s like recommending a place to eat somewhere with your friends but they would go without you. It just made me feel pissed because I stayed up longer than I should have to play with them (cuz I got work early morning) and just plain sad because I’ve had many instances in highschool where my friends would leave me for another person or not invite me. So I felt like I wasn’t important or fun enough to be around. What really stung was when that friend that joined would posts videos and pictures of them playing the game in our group chat and I would see them having so much fun… it hurts lol

Are there ways to mod the game such that certain plot/quest triggers are bypassed? For instance, a plot that requires you to talk to NPC John can be done by talking to another NPC Charlie, in the case where John is somehow not available.
This has been on the back of my mind for a while now. A possible use would be, if the station housing essential NPC has been blown to bits for some reason, the plot can still be continued as usual, without having to wait dozens of hours for the faction to rebuild the station or for the NPC to magically reappear elsewhere.
Also, more in line with what I actually have in mind, this could possibly let me skip interacting with Dal entirely.
I have a well-known, severe and possibly unhealthy bias against Dal Busta, to the point that I don't even want him on PHQ (which is not helped at all by HAT's constant encroachment on my claimed sectors, nor his ever-present smugness), yet the vast majority of plots are locked behind him. Apart from the CovOps plot, his entire function is a glorified search engine that spews out historical entries, and eagerly suggesting genocide, monopoly, sabotage, or other war crimes for no apparent reason. Which is why I am looking into ways to replace him entirely.

I am not sure if this is achievable. Only mods I've seen that changes NPC interactions are either mini-vendor add-ons, or complete overhauls that changed almost all aspects of the game. I am not that familiar with modding NPC interactions in X4, so perhaps someone could help me out here?

Fri 5 - 7 PM Exhibit Opening: Colors That Speak Words Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, 2401 12th St. NW Join us in celebration of the visual arts, poetry, and calligraphy. "Colors That Speak Words" is a collaborative installation between two writers and two visual artists with words, poetry, and visual arts and speaks to how this combination of mediums can be done in a cyclical way. The artists, Dr. Anthony Fleg, Mallery Quetawki (Zuni), Blythe Mariano (Diné), and Chilán Mustain, worked together to create an installation in motion, and the vision they bring to this space is from a contemporary perspective on how Native art is presented. This is an innovative view for visitors to see that Native art is changing and adjusting to the times. The artists will be present at the exhibit opening to read poetry and talk about this installation. Admission is free; please enter through South Entrance. Light refreshments will be served. Isn't the simpler explanation that John actually was asleep during the overnight?

Can someone please give me advice? I’m in a place I never thought I would be in. When I married my husband I guess I only saw his good qualities.
We had our son 4 months ago and it’s very clear he hates being a dad. He is unwilling to even try. I spend ALL my time making sure all of my child’s needs are met. If he cries, I respond. I feed him, bathe him, change his diapers, play with him, entertain him, and most importantly love him. I stay so patient all day long. It’s quite the adjustment to go from not caring for a child, to spending all my time caring for a child. To be honest I LOVE IT! I absolutely have hard days, but most of my hard days stem from having absolutely no help raising our son.
Right after my son was born my husband bought a John boat. This was without running it by me first. He already has a perfectly fine (and extremely nice) Lund boat. My husband goes fishing at least 1 day a week (sometimes 2-3 days) since our son was 3 days old. My husband works 4 ten hour days and then has a 3 day weekend. He is willing to give me and my son 1 day out of the week and the rest is for work and his hobbies. I have had COUNTLESS conversations with him about how hard it is to raise our son 100% by myself 6 days a week. It’s especially hurtful that he only works 4 days a week and he could be giving his family 3 whole days. But he’s choosing his hobby over us.
I have clearly addressed this as an issue with him and ask him to please spend more time with us. He again and again would tell me raising our son isn’t that hard and he needs time for his hobbies.
I was left alone when our son was 3 days old while I was still recovering from having a baby so he could fish, I would tell him I’m depressed and having suicidal thoughts and he would still choose to go fishing. He doesn’t help clean any dishes baby related. He won’t get me a drink when I’m stuck nursing the baby. He hasn’t given the baby a bath ever. To be honest, there are so many more terrible things he has done that seem to be very neglectful of me and my child, but if I keep listing them I will get very upset. Bottom line, he sucks as a spouse and father.
I have been very clear that I am unhappy and honestly just exhausted. I’m also starting my own business (because he says I need to work and make money) so it’s not like my only job is to take care of my son. Even if it was, that’s no excuse for him to barely spend time with us or help me with him at all. I keep a very clean house and do yard work. I literally have my hands in everything-maintaining the house, only one raising our son, bringing in money. The ONLY thing he does for our family is bring home money, and he’s constantly complaining about paying for stuff.
I’ve talked to him and told him what I need and he just doesn’t care. Do I have any options left? Or should I just leave? I just know that he’s taking more from me than he’s giving and I’m getting really tired in this relationship.

Not sure how much attention this will get but I mostly wanted to get this off my chest.
My (30F) cousin (30F - Jennifer) was talking with me, trying to justify her rationale around getting back with her cheating boyfriend (Robert). Part of her justification was that she knows so many people cheat on their partners and casually mentioned that her brother-in-law (James) cheated on her sister (Mary) 2 years ago. This is a couple that has 3 children under 10, including a child they conceived in the time after the cheating was discovered. I asked Jennifer if Mary knew that James cheated on her and she said no. I figured this was the case because I had spent several hours talking with Mary about Jennifer getting back with her cheating boyfriend and how no self-respecting person would ever do that.
According to Jennifer, her brother John (28M) saw James flirting with another girl at a party and saw them head upstairs together for about 30 minutes and when they came back down he heard James tell the woman "don't make it weird". That alone isn't enough to be damning, but according to Jennifer, Robert asked James directly if he cheated on Mary and James confirmed that he did. The siblings have seen James flirt with the other woman as well on different occasions. Mary has only caught it once and it caused tension and fighting between James and Mary. So, it's not something she would accept in her marriage.
Jennifer and John live with Mary and James and have had plenty of opportunities to tell Mary but haven't in the 2+ years that they have known about this. Jennifer said the only time she'd bring it up is if James gave her attitude about getting back with her cheating boyfriend as a means to "shut him up" about it and to convince him to get Mary on her side of the issue. I brought up how disrespectful that is for her to not tell her sister, who she is incredibly close with, about this issue and Mary would have every right to never speak to them again if/when she found out.
After much back and forth, Jennifer came back and said that Robert is changing his story and is adamant that James never confirmed that he cheated and instead was simply just quiet when Robert told him how suspicious his actions were.
Honestly, any way you break it, it's all bad. Either:

1. Jennifer made up the detail that James confirmed that he actually cheated to justify her decision to get back with her boyfriend and is now trying to back-pedal after she's dug herself into that hole.
2. Robert did tell Jennifer that James confirmed cheating on Mary and Jennifer is trying to downplay it to avoid a difficult conversation. And she held this information from her sister for years.
3. Jennifer misunderstood Robert 2 years ago about James confirming cheating. But still, that means Jennifer thought for 2 years that James cheated on Mary and never said anything.

And regardless, neither of the siblings has mentioned to Mary about James flirting with the other woman several times or the clearly suspicious situation(s) they saw...
Due to pressure from my own husband, I called John and he confirmed that he did in fact see James acting suspiciously on that and other occasions. He wasn't aware of any firm confirmation but did hear James once drunkenly insinuate that he cheated on Mary. He admitted that while he lost all respect for James, that he was scared to tell Mary for fear of what that would do to their family. I told him my stance, that ultimately it was up to them, but in my opinion if Mary ever found out they were holding all this information for YEARS from her, she would have every right to hate them. And that even if they don't have "proof" of him cheating, she needs to know the information that they are keeping from her so she can make a choice on how to move forward.
I got a cold text from Jennifer a few hours later saying that she and John were going to find a time to sit with Mary to tell her. My husband is also of the firm belief that even though it's not fair, I am now tied to this and if they don't tell Mary, I need to. While she is my cousin, we are more like sisters in our relationship.
Part of me thinks it'll be swept under the rug, James is one of those people who everyone accepts that he's just a "loveable" asshole who gets a thrill out of taking things way too far. He is also a family friend and has been part of the family since he was a kid, so if they were to split, it would be detremential to many levels of the family. His comments/statements can easily be one of his "silly little jokes" and I am sure that's how he will frame it. But she at least needs to know and make her own decision from there.
So, my main questions here are:
1 - Did I push and prod too much?
2 - If Jennifer and John don't tell Mary, would it be my obligation to?
