Do you remember August 2019? I do, it was like yesterday and forever ago all at the same time.
You were suppose to come visit, and we were going to meet for the first time since becoming friends online 10 years prior. I really thought this was the best time and I couldn’t be more excited. That was, until my relationship started to fall apart right before our eyes. I was struggling a lot to work, and with my mental health. I was finally decompressing after leaving such an abusive environment. I had been moved out for 1 year.
Anyways, I started a new job, I started new meds and I was feeling really good, except I still couldn’t afford to pick you up from the airport or find someway too, I planned to use my paycheque but then I was being broken up with.
This was my first real relationship, you know that. I thought I had found my one; and actually to this day I still believe that because we are still together. It turns out we were young and stupid, and took a big situation and made it worse but we needed some time to figure that out. Anyways, that’s not really the story here.
What I want to tell you, is why I couldn’t just accept my breakup, leave him, move back home and somehow make our plans work.
The truth is my step dad was abusing me, not just physically and emotionally but also sexually. This had gone on between the ages of 9 years old and 18 years old. I couldn’t go home and I couldn’t let my relationship end because I had no where to go, and the only person who knew the truth was my then boyfriend (now fiancé).
I couldn’t tell you, because at that point I couldn’t tell anyone. The only reason my fiancé knew is because it came up in person one time, when discussing his own personal experience. I was still trying to process what happened and how it was affecting my relationship, my mental health and honestly my own relationship with myself. All I knew was that if my relationship ends I would have to go back and I couldn’t.
It wasn’t because I was picking a boy who I’d only been with for a year and a half over you. It was because I was just starting to get better, and I could not regress again… I just couldn’t. I know I wouldn’t have made it.
I am deeply sorry that I fucked everything up, and I wish I hadn’t spent so many years lying to everyone about what was really going on.
I did want to tell you too, that in 2021, I told my mom the truth, I told my grandma and I told my sister. I shortly then told my other family and friends. After that, I made the very brave decision to report a historical SA case. In august of 2021, he was arrested. He got out the next day, or the same day I can’t remember but he was given a court order that he had to leave my mothers house. That didn’t happen until October 2021, but we’ve been free since.
This past February, I testified in front of a judge in a preliminary hearing to see if my case would make it to a trial. It did. February of next year, I will testify in court again at a trial.
I have gone to so much therapy, I regulated my medication, I stopped medicating with drugs, alcohol etc. I realize my mistakes, and so much more. I am the best me that I can be and I want you to know that I am better now. I am incredibly sorry for my selfish actions and I will never be able to make up for that, but I hope maybe one day you will understand. I hope you are doing better too btw.
I believe you graduated this year didn’t you? Congratulations! I know you worked really hard, and I bet your dad is so proud up there.
I realize even saying all of this wouldn’t really change anything and that is exactly why I don’t intend to send this to you, and I’m just simply getting it off my chest. But I did want to put it out there, I know you used to be a lurker here so here goes nothing.

I've recently (March 2023) assembled a PC with the Intel Arc 750. It's been running fine until about in april, where the drivers were automatically updated by windows and the PC started getting BSODs whenever I was playing a game and for example running a youtube vid on the second monitor. So i stopped using my second monitor for a while and around may the drivers updated themselves again and that's where the shitshow began. At this point, doing almost anything caused my PC to just freeze up. My mouse would still be able to move, but whatever I clicked or whatever, nothing worked. The only thing that worked was to remove my HDMI cable and plug it back in. It seemed that whatever I clicked, did actually process, but it didn't update my on monitor. I basically couldn't do anything at this point because the monitor would 'freeze' whenever i opened a website or tried to start almost any application.
So after this happened (half may), i read up online about other people having issues and tried the following:
Enabling ReBAR Enabling Above 4G Decoding (As per Gigabyte instructions https://www.gigabyte.com/WebPage/785/NVIDIA_resizable_bar.html)
I would stil have the same issues where my monitor would freeze up and I couldn't do anything. So I used DDU to completely remove the drivers and install the ones from march, because those did work. And yes actualyl evreything was fine again! I could all the games I played, have my second monitor open and evreything. No BSODs, no lag whatsoever and I was happy! Until last week. For some reason, whenever I had my second monitor connected, the same issue appeared with my my mouse being able to move around, but whatever I did, wouldn't process on the screen. Removing the 2nd monitor would work acutally. But i'm in a pickle again, because it seems i'm constantly having issues with the GPU and at this point it's very annoying. It doesn't seem like my display drivers updated either, because I disabled that in Windows and didn't install Arc Control Center.
I want to try the following: Newer HDMI cables DP cables
Anyone else got any suggestions? Because at this point I just want to send back the videocard and buy whatever.

A year ago I got into game design, however while trying to swap my project over to unreal from unity, I have realised my current (very old) computer just won't cut it anymore! I have already bought two pieces of hardware, but have finally saved up enough to buy the rest, and would love some help/ input if possible. Please feel free to critique and offer opinions on my build choice as I know next to nothing about PC parts, brands etc other than what I have researched!

This is a line from The Simpsons movie i relate to while playing those crpgs.
Voice acting immeasurably enhances the experience and it's both great and sad that we have at least some vo in the game.
The sad part is because the performances are so good it's really annoying they are only less than about 5% of what actually is spoken.
I think minago regil and aruashele performances are especially noteworthy. And Camilia too because her spoken tone adds subtle hints about her story that isn't present in text. But minago is especially good because she faithfully potrays a range of emotions from a confident to raging to scared to compassionate to indifferent.
Games like original sin and disco Elysium were initially also text heavy but later released enhanced editions with full voice over. It could be great if this were to happen with owlcat games too.
Meanwhile i found a huge quality of life mod that uses build in tts to play the written text in game..dont expect any kind of emotional performance from this, but never the less it's a huge difference, especially with you can just continue playing while a note or a book you found are playing in the background.

Hi all,
If I am importing goods from China to Canada to store in a warehouse, then sell these product as-is to consumers in USA, do I ultimately not pay duties given the unique situation as presented below?
As far as I understand from researching online, I pay duties when the goods first enter Canada, but am eligible for duties drawback once the goods leave Canada to consumers in USA. Since Canada and USA have a Free Trade Agreement, nothing gets paid upon entry to USA. if I do the duties drawback process, does that mean I effectively get back the duties I paid, without any repurcussions?
Doesn't make sense to me, since I think duties should be still incurred at least once,, be it at the Canada border or the USA border?

Hi all
Apologies if this post is not allowed, I’m in the process of completing a self assessment tax return and wanting to claim back some allowable expenses. I’ve had a look online and can’t work out if the below claims would be acceptable, I also don’t work for an accountancy firm so no one I can go to for advice at work
Purchase of office chair in August 2022
Purchase of monitor in 2020 (a portion of this was claimed back from my employer)
Purchase of iPad (work use only) on hp agreement - am I able to claim the full cost or do I have to apportion this and claim only for the repayments made
This is my first time completing a return and I’ve never claimed back personal expenses in the last 4 years (which I believe is the allowable time period for claims)
Any advice would be much appreciated 😊
