2023.06.10 19:57 Sunrise5 Three new breweries opening soon: 3rd Level, 5th Element, and Lago Vista
Quick update on some new brewery openings:
Some good stuff to look forward to in the near future! If you head out to one of the new breweries, let us know how it goes.
With that news aside, I want to take a second to let everyone know that (I personally believe) reddit is going to completely implode within the next few weeks as a result of the API / admin situation. I've been a long time reddit user and huge fan of the Apollo app, and after seeing how Christian was treated I cannot in good conscience continue using this website. So I'll personally be jumping ship soon, and I encourage all of you to consider doing the same. We can set up an AustinBeer community on whichever replacement comes out on top; please check out
/RedditAlternatives to keep track of the leading client in the next few weeks.
And if I'm wrong, and reddit continues to exist in a usable state after July 1st, then it was nice knowing ya because I'm still probably leaving. Follow
https://craftbeeraustin.com/ to keep up with news that reddit might miss.

2023.06.10 19:33 zlaxy Exactly 50 years ago, the Soviet architect and restorer Ludwig Heinrich Mavrikievich died
| Exactly 50 years ago, the Soviet architect and restorer Ludwig Heinrich Mavrikievich died. In recent years his name has become popular in the West as “ one of the people caught up in Stalin’s purges, he was killed because of his knowledge about aliens; he was officially accused of being a spy for the Vatican, but in 2011, the Russian paper Top Secret claimed that his work at the Vatican was studying manuscripts that indicated ancient alien contact“. In this vein, his name became known thanks to a popular documentary TV series “Ancient Aliens“, on the History Channel, an episode of “Russia’s Secret Files“. The film claimed: “ The reason he was accused of being a spy for the Vatican is because in 1920s, as a young student of architecture, he visited the Vatican, where he was given access to the secret library. In that library, he found manuscripts that describe extraterrestrial civilizations and more. Dr. Genrikh Ludvig discovered a number of manuscripts suggesting that there had been historic extraterrestrial contact with ancient civilizations in Egypt, Israel, and Mesopotamia. These manuscripts that talked, for example, about the pyramids and described them as energy machines.” The film went on to make a bold attempt to identify Russian cosmism with Ancient astronauts. https://preview.redd.it/d2tdkulh785b1.jpg?width=880&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=627947f59ea2362f2a05b7cfc74584983e1ebb06 All such information about Heinrich Ludwig’s connection to Vatican archives and aliens is based on a single Russian-language source – the article “Professor Ludwig’s Worlds” in the Russian newspaper Sovershenno Sekretno (“Top Secret”), written by journalist Vladimir Kucharyants, who, as he himself claims, personally knew Ludwig when was a student at the Institute. The article explains the episode in which the Soviet architect was allowed access to the Vatican archives this way: “He, who was studying the Etruscans and deciphering their language, was extremely interested in the documents held in the Vatican library. In his ‘Herodotus journey’, Rome was one of the key points. At the Vatican he sought permission from the Cardinal, the keeper of the library. As one of his arguments, he cited a terrible Italian swearword that blasphemously commemorated Our Lady… The Cardinal, becoming enraged, wanted to throw him out, but when Ludwig began hastily revealing to him the etymology and esoteric meaning of these words (and it is very different, almost sacred in Etruscans), the Holy Father was so impressed by his knowledge that he not only allowed him into the vault, but also allowed him to photograph the necessary documents.” Apart from this anecdotal episode, the article also claims other contradictory biographical details, such as: “I was brutally beaten at interrogations, demanding confessions of fantastic absurdities: ‘While a member of the VKP(b), I was simultaneously a resident of American, German, Polish, Turkish and Vatican counterintelligence for 15 years, trading in the blood of workers and peasants in the USSR. Prepared the bombing of the Nikolaev grain elevator (I have never been to Nikolaev). Organised the largest assassination attempt in the form of explosion of all bread lines of the USSR. He was a chairman of fascist organisation in the Soviet Union…”. I must say a special word about one subtle trick in the methodology of the investigation. After another refusal by me to testify, the investigator opened the door to the corridor of the Lefortovo prison’s investigation rooms and nodded to someone. Nearby a woman was being brutally beaten. -Do you recognise it? – The investigator gloated. I grew wary, lost in anguished speculation. – You scoundrel, bastard, fascist! You don’t pity your own wife! And we’re only beating her because of you… I’ve never heard my wife scream like that before! When the woman fell unconscious, then /she/ let out a moan, I shouted: – Stop it! I’ll sign everything, just don’t hit my wife. At the dictation of the investigator I signed slanderous testimony against myself…”. Later he found out: it wasn’t his wife who was tortured. His wife, a Party worker, was still living happily in their big, cosy flat on Tverskaya street. She had written a denunciation about her husband.” In this case, according to Kucharyants, this is a fragment of the manuscript, which the professor’s widow herself provided to the journalist. Another source, A.V. Trubetskoy’s memoirs “Paths undiscovered“, mentions another episode relating to the architect Ludwig: “There was a rather famous architect, Heinrich Ludwig, an elderly, grey-haired man with bushy eyebrows (the kind of man who usually smokes a pipe when he is outside). I knew him well. Ludwig told me that he had entered a design competition for the Palace of the Soviets, and his design had been exhibited and published. In the camp Ludwig had a hernia operation and had his navel cut out. The operated one later joked that only Adam, as not being born by a woman, did not have a belly button.” Some more reliable sources report that before the crackdown, Ludwig held the following positions: “ head of the architectural workshops of the People’s Commissariat of Health (1934-1935) and the People’s Commissariat of Light Industry (1935-1937) of the USSR, professor at the MIIT, MISI, MVTU, the Military Engineering Academy, director of the MArhI (1936-1937), head of restoration work in the Kremlin, in the Ostankino and Arkhangelskoye estates, the Church of St Basil the Blessed, the Trinity-Sergius Lavra. He has carried out over 200 major projects.” He is considered to be one of the most active figures of the Russian architectural avant-garde. In the words of art historian Selim Omarovich Khan-Magomedov, he “synthesised an artist and an engineer”. It is said that he travelled to Turkey at the personal invitation of Ataturk, the founder of the Turkish nation, who decided to change the face of Ankara, and met with him repeatedly. Ludwig created the design for a Soviet embassy in Turkey, the year after the young Republic of Turkey was founded. He was also the author of competition designs for the monument to Christopher Columbus in Santo Domingo and the Palace of the Soviets in Moscow. https://preview.redd.it/sv1nmy0m785b1.png?width=1485&format=png&auto=webp&s=021ed41072eb149231ec2741c115f43ed0aa085a Artist Vyacheslav Lenkov made this statement in the newspaper Russky Vestnik about the unrealised project of the Palace of the Soviets: “When Stalin finally came to power before the war, he summoned a specialist and told him to scientifically substantiate that this enormous Palace on the site of the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour was technically impossible to build. It was Professor Ludwig Heinrich Mavrikievich. He was later reminded of this memo and exiled to Siberia for his German origin, and in the camp his bones were crushed – as if they had been made into a crucifix. Then he could hardly walk, but he came back and taught at our place.” Meanwhile, in the Volga Correctional Labour Camp, Ludwig worked as an architect in the technical department of the Volgostroy NKVD. Later, he was head of construction works, technologist at plant No.1 of the MGB in Yaroslavl; chief architect of the camp in the town of Spassk in the Karaganda region. It may be noted that he worked as an architect in Rybinsk, during the construction of the Rybinsk hydroelectric power station during the flooding of the ancient trade and religious centre, the town of Mologa. The following year after Stalin’s death Heinrich Ludwig was released from the camps (having been convicted under Article 58-6-1 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR, espionage) and rehabilitated a couple of years later. After the exile he taught, was a corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Construction and Architecture, was the editor of the journals “Architecture in the USSR” and “Architecture Abroad”, and was an honorary member of the Institute of Archaeology in Illinois (USA). It is difficult to determine what is reliable information among the many biographical fragments from the life of Heinrich Ludwig and what is not: whether he was a talented architect, innocently condemned by the Soviet system for espionage, or whether he was a “great architect” of Soviet and international secret societies, with a fabricated and mythologized biography, of the rank of Nikolai Alexandrovich Morozov (the forefather and architect of the New Chronology theory, the venerable master of the Zarya Peterburga Lodge). In any case, Ludwig was connected with space not only by hypothetical ancient aliens from “Sovershenno Sekretno” newspaper, but also by close cooperation with Alexander Chizhevsky, a representative of Russian cosmism, who during his lifetime was removed from several leading positions for falsification of scientific research results. It was Ludwig who wrote the first review of one of Chizhevsky’s last manuscripts, “On the Shore of the Universe – Memories of K.E. Tsiolkovsky“, a fragment of which was put on the cover of the posthumous edition. “Nowhere is the personality of K.E. Tsiolkovsky, as a man, so clearly and distinctly portrayed as in the book under consideration… In the literature about K.E. Tsiolkovsky there is nothing more powerful… The work of Professor A.L. Chizhevsky, an eyewitness and friend of the genius scientist, should be called a classic… Professor G.M. Ludwig” submitted by zlaxy to forgeryreplicafiction [link] [comments] |

What are the best things to do in London England ?
There is a lot of history and culture in this great city. When you arrive, I recommend renting a car at the airport and driving straight downtown, or find a spot on the tube (the subway) with your luggage and take it into central London to start exploring!
Here are some of my favorite things to do in England:
- The London Eye is a great way to see all of London from above. You can go inside and sit next to a window while the rest of the world goes by, or you can have an open air spin and watch as the city unfolds around you. Either way, it’s a great experience!
- Westminster Abbey is a beautiful church that has been standing for centuries. It was originally built in the 10th century but has been expanded into what it is today, which makes it quite unique. You can have a tour of the inside or outside and take your time looking around at all the detail of each stone wall!
- Trafalgar Square. This square is probably one of the most famous places in London due to its statuesque of Lord Nelson in the center and The National Gallery that surrounds it. There are a lot of people that hang out here, whether it be for a tour or just some quiet time with a book on the steps, as there are always benches!
- St Paul’s Cathedral is one of the most beautiful churches I have ever seen in my life. Every detail of this place has been thought of and it makes you feel like you are part of history being surrounded by the past. The best time to go is at sunset when everyone gathers outside for prayer!
- Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre is a reproduction of the original theatre from the time of William Shakespeare where his plays were first performed. It was opened in 1997 and has grown to be a great centre of education, entertainment, and tourism all centered around the works of Shakespeare! [end of text]

2023.06.09 21:46 Realistic_Thing_6911 Confederate aggressive AI?
Firstly let me say that I love this game, bugs or not. I’d be hesitant to criticize anything about it, because it’s generally satisfying to me, but nevertheless I do have some…questions? Particularly, whenever I play as the north on middle or more difficult settings especially, the confederates mount these huge offenses that capture loads of northern cities and often to the point that I either lose the 1864 election or my morale crashes even before the election. I’ve tried to defeat these AI tactics by constructing 7 or 8 forts around washington and other defenses around louisville and st louis; garrisoning them with ample troops; and recruiting or drafting as efficiently and quickly as possible. I’ve built armies with 1.5 million men at arms in many dispersed corps, but confederate forces always slip past them and capture cities far in northern territory. If they can’t get washington, they’ll go for new york and philadelphia, chicago, cleveland, any sizeable town they can.
On the one hand, there were raids such as the most famous gettysburg campaign or John Hunt Morgan’s raid around Ohio; I don’t necessarily have a problem with the AI’s instincts to take the war to northern territory. But, the AI seems to move faster than I’m able to respond, even with more troops on hand, and even if I have won more battles and scored morale boosts, the AI knows exactly what threshold it needs to win by 1864. Just becomes a game defending against a brutally efficient robot, not the decisions of flawed human beings who make mistakes of their own (as was the case at gettysburg). It is intriguing to see the confederacy win through these tactics, but it also seems like they’re on steroids. Anyone have recommended settings or strategies to defeat this? How can you be offensive while having to be super on guard for these aggressive attacks?

2023.06.09 20:49 RepREVlEW Review of Chez Pierre's sample pack of Fragrances
What's up repfam, after a week of testing I'm going to review a sample package with 10 fragrances by Chez Pierre. I have tried 5 fragrances, one a day, to test longevity and fragrance throughout the day.
Experience with the Seller: - Communication and responsiveness was pretty good, some delays in responses due to time zones and weekends but otherwise good. Friendly and prompt and answered all questions and concerns I had.
- Logistics were good and surprisingly fast even though sent by regular mail. First package got lost in transit but they were quick to rectify it and send another package.
- Shipped May 24th
- Received Package June 2nd
Disclaimer: - I am not an expert by any means and even though 10 samples were sent in the sampler I will only be reviewing the ones I have tried the real versions of
- These were sent to me for free to test and review
- These are my impressions and yours may be different than my experience
- Perfumes are inspired by famous fragrances. Some notes may be different but all are pretty close to the original fragrances.
Reviews:
- First let me start off by saying that I have seen many others make statements about the longevity of the scents but my experience was good and they lasted for most of the day. The one issue I did have was when I first received the package I took every fragrance out and sprayed them on test strips to smell them and they gave me a headache from smelling them all. However when I only sprayed one for the day to test they didn't bother me or give me a headache so I'm chalking it up to spraying so much and smelling them all together.
Bakar (Baccarat Rouge 540)
A floral and woody scent with notes of jasmine, saffron, cedarwood and ambergris. This was my favorite of all the samples and I would recommend this one for anyone who likes sweeter fragrances. From the first spray it was very sweet and pleasant throughout the day. The scent lasted about 6 hours or so and didn't lose any of its depth until after that. This one was by far the closest to retail.
9/10
Wild Bergamot (Dior Sauvage)
An earthy and woody scent with notes of Bergamot, pepper and amberwood. Very strong to start off, maybe a little too strong, but settles after a bit and holds fragrance well for 8-10 hours. Pretty close to the real fragrance and the scent stays longer than the others.
7.5/10
Luxurious (LV Ombre Nomade)
A woody and fruity scent with notes of oud wood, Raspberry and incense. To be fair I have only tried and smelled this in stores but in my opinion is pretty close to the real fragrance. Retail smells much more rich and deeper than this clone but the scent is very accurate and lasted for a good amount of time and settled nicely after a little bit. This is not my type of fragrance but if you like the real version this is a great alternative.
8/10
Leathery Path (Tom Ford Tuscan Leather)
A warm and spicy scent with notes of leather, saffron and black suede. Another strong fragrance to start off but settles in nicely. Not much depth to the fragrance and you have to really breath it in to get hints of the secondary notes. It is fairly close to retail and has good longevity to it.
7/10
Aventure (Creed Aventus)
A fruity and rich scent with notes of Bergamot, black currant, apple and pineapple. From the first spray the scent of pineapple and citrus is very apparent but after it settles in it has a nice sweet and fruity scent. Lasted very long pretty much all day and is pretty close to retail.
7.5/10

2023.06.09 19:01 WhatCanIMakeToday GameStop's 10-Q DRS Numbers: Bullish
| GameStop's most recent 10-Q revealed a very interesting and very bullish information with the number of shares held by Cede & Co going down! GameStop's 10-K filed on March 28, 2023 | GameStop's 10-Q filed today, June 7, 2023 | As of March 22, 2023, there were 197,058 record holders of our Class A Common Stock. Excluding the approximately 228.7 million shares of our Class A Common Stock held by Cede & Co on behalf of the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (or approximately 75% of our outstanding shares), approximately 76.0 million shares of our Class A Common Stock were held by record holders as of March 22, 2023 (or approximately 25% of our outstanding shares. | As of June 1, 2023, there were approximately 304,751,243 shares of our Class A common stock outstanding. Of those outstanding shares, approximately 228.1 million were held by Cede & Co on behalf of the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (or approximately 75% of our outstanding shares) and approximately 76.6 million shares of our Class A common stock were held by registered holders with our transfer agent (or approximately 25% of our outstanding shares) as of June 1, 2023. | Let's bring back some context from my prior post, GME 10-K: A Turning Point, and expand on it by first charting the history of GameStop's DRS numbers. https://preview.redd.it/921624w8yt4b1.png?width=4186&format=png&auto=webp&s=746db6cad0a0f8184302302aedf45fffb55e0857 This is beautiful because we're seeing a classic S-curve in our data. Let me draw it for you and explain. https://preview.redd.it/penl1bndyt4b1.png?width=4248&format=png&auto=webp&s=98f9a915a0e051c534c7d767085de25e88645ef0 An S-curve is very important when considering new ideas. Basically, an S-curve represents how fast an idea spreads. In the beginning, ideas are new and held by only a few so the growth curve is slow. Then, at some point, ideas take off and we see rapid growth. And, finally, there's a saturation point reached where growth slows down again. These "phases of innovation" are well documented: The adoption rate of innovations is non-linear; it is slow at first, then rapidly rises before flattening out again as it reaches market saturation. Harnessing the Power of S-Curves There are many theories of change, but one that is particularly relevant to innovation is centred on the S-curve. It is a way of depicting incremental, disruptive and radical innovation. ... The S-curve can also be used to depict the diffusion of innovations in a culture over time. First described by Everett Rogers in the early 1960s, diffusion is the process by which an innovation is communicated and taken up over time. Rogers’ work is important because it emphasises that the innovation itself is not the only determinant of its ‘success’. There must also be communication channels, time and a social system in place to enable the innovation to be used and adopted more and more widely. Rogers also identifies the different categories of adopters: innovators, early adopters, majority (further subdivided into early and late) and laggards (Rogers, 1962). [Open University: Innovation and the S-curve] When we look at the DRS numbers, we can see the classic S curve. The key recognition is that some shares were already directly registered before apes figured DRS out. Perhaps with the benefit of hindsight, it's obvious that no early whale apes directly registered 5 million shares because apes are generally not that rich. ComputerShared.net even has a Shareholder Distribution chart where you can see that, even now, all apes sampled have fewer than 32,768 shares. https://preview.redd.it/17ugkzgyot4b1.png?width=1251&format=png&auto=webp&s=e8d1dc706135698e4a7a403a4b6b5704c31c9767 While may never know how many shares were held by the ~1,600 record holders in 2021 or who held them, we do know that there were at least 1,600 record holders and they, by definition, held directly registered shares. Then, as of Oct 30, 2021, 5.2M shares were directly registered after a few early apes started direct registering their shares. As more apes started to directly register their shares, we see a rapid growth phase between 2021 and 2022. After the July 2022 splividend, we start to see DRS numbers tailing off as the idea of DRS matures signifying an acceptance of DRS amongst apes. Bullish Turning Points Looking back at the history of DRS numbers, we see two major changes in shareholder reporting: Oct 2021 and March 2023. As I noted before ( twice), These SEC forms are filed every quarter or year and people are lazy. The easiest way to start off a filing is to simply copy the one filed before (i.e., template) and update things like dates and numbers. So why the change? Wut mean? - Before Oct 2021, GameStop reported the number of record holders.
- Between Oct 2021 and Oct 2022, GameStop reported shares directly registered with their transfer agent.
- March 2023, GameStop reported the number of record holders, number of shares held by Cede & Co, and number of shares held by record holders.
- June 2023, GameStop reports the number of shares outstanding, number of shares held by Cede & Co, and number of shares held by registered holders with our transfer agent.
The Oct 2021 change is pretty clearly a result of apes directly registering their shares leading to a noticeable increase of directly registered shares. The March 2023 number is interesting because you'll notice that the Jan 2023 10-K reporting was significantly delayed for nearly two months from the end of Jan (see Jan 29, 2022) to March 22, 2023. This delay suggests the SEC didn't like what GameStop submitted and required GameStop to modify their filing before it became public. I think GameStop was going to put the discrepancy into their 10-K and the SEC said "Uhh, no. Please change that."^[1] (Remember, there shouldn't ever be more shares reported as held than shares outstanding; which is why proxy over voting has been "addressed" by adjusting the vote counts.) To give you an example of this problem from my prior DD, End Game: DTC and NSCC are screwed as the DTC just proved shareholders should Directly Register Shares (DRS) and End Game Part Deux: Problems at the DTCC plus The Bigger Picture, we saw from 🛏️🛁 bankruptcy filings that their Transfer Agent reported Cede and Co holds more shares (776M) than there are outstanding (739M) -- which should be impossible. Sources can't be linked (contains the ticker symbol) but can be found in the other sub If a bankruptcy judge didn't order 🛏️🛁 to file this information with the Court, nobody would ever know that a company has 739M shares outstanding (with some directly registered) while the DTC and DTCC are circulating 776M shares of that company for trading (plus rehypothecation)! Yet, here we are. And now we understand why the SEC is rushing to push through so many regulations simply to not look as bad when shit hits the fan. ("So, SEC, a bunch of regards on the Internet figured this out with publicly available information and you didn't? Even when the SEC was directly made aware of issues, again?") Turning back to GME's 10-Q numbers, GameStop reported 76.6M shares held by Registered Holders^[2] and 228.1M shares held by Cede & Co on behalf of the DTCC. We know what ComputerShare, the Transfer Agent, is reporting. But due to the fog of war, we don't know how many shares the DTC and DTCC are circulating for trading or how many beneficially owned rights to shares there are. What we know and don't know Which means we can think of GME's 10-Q filing as a sort of CYA. GameStop has put on record there are 228.1M shares recorded by the Transfer Agent (ComputerShare) as allocated to Cede & Co and the DTC/DTCC. As far as GameStop, ComputerShare, and the SEC are concerned, any securities issues after that are problems within the Big Orange Box of BS (Beneficially-owned Shares). The flattening of the S-curve happened somewhere around Oct 2022 and March 2023 when, all of a sudden, apes only saw an increase of 0.5M shares directly registered in the Oct 2022 DRS number followed by a 4.2M increase in March 2023. I think what happened for the Oct 2022 DRS number is institutions withdrew their ~5M directly registered shares to Cede & Co to (1) try and make it look like apes were leaving and (2) put more shares into Cede & Co for circulation.^[3] A few apes have come up with some recent evidence this could the case (by reviewing the ledger!) per a post on the DRS sub by lawsondt (with confirmation in the comments, 🫡) https://preview.redd.it/kcottjzra05b1.png?width=675&format=png&auto=webp&s=361ce4adaa8b1f58b39c88e0d4113d0b98bf6b47 Remember, apes are generally not whales so there's no way apes started off with 5.2M shares directly registered. On the other hand, institutions have the money to do so and some institutions probably wanted to have shares in their name. But there are no institutions on the list as of April 2023 anymore which strongly suggests apes are amazing regards who directly registered more shares than the institutions pulled out. And now, institutions are out of directly registered shares. No more DRS rug pulls. The Number of Shares Held By The DTC Is Consistently Shrinking So when I look at the 71 calendar days between March 28, 2023 and June 7, 2023 ( 49 trading days), ComputerShare recorded 600k more shares held by registered ownership. That's 8,000+ shares per calendar day or 12,000+ shares per trading day removed from the BS box and locked away. This is what the power of slow and steady erosion looks like Cede & Co's holdings are consistently shrinking and institutions no longer have any directly registered shares. IMPORTANT POINT ABOUT BENEFICIAL SHARES (BS) According to the SEC, beneficial rights to shares held by the DTC are split amongst all the beneficial shareholder interests. Each participant or pledgee having an interest in securities of a given issue credited to its account has a pro rata interest in the securities of that issue held by DTC. [SR-DTC-2003-02 34-47978 (June 4, 2003)] From another DD, Estimating Excess GME Share Liquidity From Borrow Data & Churn Factor, I covered a 2010 IMF Working Paper ( The (sizable) Role of Rehypothecation in the Shadow Banking System) that found rehypothecation in the shadow banking system resulted in a churn factor of 4. https://preview.redd.it/5kv4pllbxv4b1.png?width=1368&format=png&auto=webp&s=f2c76ac21a828fbe7aca78b4ac1517c36e671288 A churn factor of 4 means each GME share is rehypothecated into 4 beneficial rights to 1 GME share. Thus, according to the SEC, each GME share in a brokerage is worth 1/4 of what you think it's worth. Less if the churn factor is higher. (Easily higher as some countries have no limits on rehypothecation.) Simply changing how shares are held from beneficially-owned shares (BS) to directly registered shares (DRS) automatically increases how much of the Company you own. This is true for any Company where shareholders may suspect the DTC has more shares on their books or in circulation than they should. With the shadow banking system rehypothecating assets around in circles, it's likely every BS share traded under the DTCC is worth less a DRS counterpart. Thus, every shareholder is basically incentivized to own a bigger portion of each Company by simply Direct Registering Shares to get more ownership for the same price. Which is exactly what the DTC and SEC said shareholders should do: DTC pointed out that if beneficial owners believe that their interests are best protected by not having their shares subject to book-entry transfer at DTC, then they can instruct their broker-dealer to execute a withdrawal-by-transfer, which will remove the securities from DTC and transfer them to the shareholder in certificated form. SR-DTC-2003-02 34-47978 (June 4, 2003) If I get 4x more ownership by executing a DRS withdrawal-by-transfer out of the DTC, then clearly the DTC is not protecting my interests and I should execute a DRS withdrawal-by-transfer as suggested by the DTC and SEC. BACK TO THE S-CURVE Remember: adoption rate is non-linear. Meaning all the comments about it taking 84 years to lock the float at this rate are irrelevant because they assume a constant linear DRS rate at the current 8,000+ per calendar day (12,000+ per trading day) rate. Instead, we should consider the current 8,000+ per calendar day (12,000+ per trading day) rate as a floor for what apes are accomplishing as a baseline. Progress and adoption are typically a series of S-curves as ideas are spread, adopted by a group, reach maturity in that group, spread more, adopted by others, reach maturity in the new group, and spread more again. https://www.open.edu/openlearn/nature-environment/organisations-environmental-management-and-innovation/content-section-1.7 As a baseline, the current 8,000+ per calendar day (12,000+ per trading day) is phenomenal because these shares are getting locked away every single day despite everything Wall St has tried including: - incredibly high inflation taking away money from investments for living expenses,
- media constantly bashing meme stocks, and
- an endless stream of rule proposals and comments from the financial industry designed to screw retail investors.
I look forward to upcoming S-curves increasing our DRS numbers as more people learn about how our markets function. I know it will happen because it is inevitable. As shares are directly registered with the Transfer Agent, fewer shares will be held by the DTC which reduces the value of the remaining beneficial shares. And, in order to keep the price down, more beneficial rights to the shrinking number shares held by the DTC will be sold which further dilutes the value of those BS shares. As the ownership gain from directly registering shares increases, more shares will be directly registered which further speeds up this virtuous cycle (a virtuous cycle is like a vicious cycle, but for good things). The incentives and self-interests align in such a way that the invisible hand ensures people will DRS as they learn it's more valuable to them. Thank you to every ape out there contributing to this shared knowledge base. From the lit buildings at midnight to the memes and the amazing DD, including the relentless and rigorous peer review^[4], we are all educating each other about how our securities markets function. [1] This theory is also consistent with some Trust Me Bro that I speculated about. [2] Why the change from "record holders" to "registered holders"? Maybe this is to address the confusion around the Heat Lamp Theory? From the context, I suspect Book or Plan are both counted by ComputerShare as Directly Registered Shares falling under the "Registered-ownership shares" category on ComputerShare's FAQ. [3] Notably, if you consider an adjustment for the Oct 2022 onwards numbers for the shares institutions pulled out, you'd get a much cleaner and smoother transition at the top with +5.5M, +4.2M, +0.6M and so on... which makes for a prettier S-curve that one might expect to see. [4] Let's be realistic, it's the Internet. We're all basically like this https://preview.redd.it/rnzqkqi7m05b1.png?width=300&format=png&auto=webp&s=912087114699d995b1c8d9b52be6429daecb7e81 submitted by WhatCanIMakeToday to Superstonk [link] [comments] |
2023.06.09 18:46 IrinaSophia Saint Columba of Iona, Enlightener of Scotland (+ 597) (June 9th)
A poet, prophet and monk of royal Irish lineage,
Columba went to Scotland to evangelize the pagan Picts. He was a student of Finnian of Clonard. His name means “Dove of the Church.”
Columba was born into a royal clan in Donegal, Ireland. He called Christ “his druid,” or teacher. Columcille, his Irish name, or Columba, as he is known in Latin Britain, founded the monasteries of Derry and Durrow in his native Ireland, and the island monastery of Iona on the coast of Scotland. Iona was the center of operations for the conversion of the Scots and Picts, and became the most famous monastic complex in Scotland. There Columba baptized Brude, King of the Picts, and later a King of the Scots came to this Abbot of the "Holy Isle" for baptism. All of these monasteries had oak groves, the favorite trees of the druids.
He was a scholar and writer who found great joy in solitude. A sixth century poem describes him as a gentle sage “with faith in Christ,” and states that “being a priest was but one of his callings.” Adomnan, an early biographer, writes, “Angelic in appearance, elegant in address, holy in work, he would never spend the space of even one hour without study or prayer or writing.” He radiated a divine and celestial light, and is known for the booming power of his voice, and for his amazing authority over the winds and seas and all the natural world. He had such a deep love for the woods and for all of God’s creation that he made sure that his monastery was built without a tree being cut down. In one of his poems, he wrote that he was more afraid of the sound of an axe in Derrywood, a nearby forest, than he was of the voice of hell itself.
Having founded what is reputed to be the largest monastery in Christendom on the coastal island of Iona, which became a great center of learning and from which monasticism spread throughout Northern Europe, Columba died on Iona in 597. Chronicles of his life appeared in the following century, most notably from Saint Adomnan, who attributed to him many prophecies, visions and miracles, not least of which was warding off the Loch Ness monster with the sign of the cross.
The following was said of Saint Columba by the Venerable Bede (Ecclesiastical History of the English Nation, Bk. 3, Ch. 4):
In the year of our Lord 565, when Justin the Younger, the successor of Justinian, had the government of the Roman Empire, there came into Britain a famous priest and abbot, a monk by habit and life, whose name was Columba, to preach the word of God to the provinces of the northern Picts, who are separated from the southern parts by steep and rugged mountains; for the southern Picts, who dwell on this side of those mountains, had long before, as is reported, forsaken the errors of idolatry, and embraced the truth, by the preaching of Ninias, a most reverend bishop and holy man of the British nation, who had been regularly instructed at Rome, in the faith and mysteries of the truth; whose episcopal see, named after Saint Martin the bishop, and famous for a stately church (wherein he and many other saints rest in the body), is still in existence among the English nation. The place belongs to the province of the Bernicians, and is generally called the White House, because he there built a church of stone, which was not usual among the Britons.
Columba came into Britain in the ninth year of the reign of Brude, who was the son of Meilochon, and the powerful king of the Pictish nation, and he converted that nation to the faith of Christ, by his preaching and example, whereupon he also received of them the aforesaid island for a monastery, for it is not very large, but contains about five families, according to the English computation. His successors hold the island to this day; he was also buried therein, having died at the age of seventy-seven, about thirty-two years after he came into Britain to preach. Before he passed over into Britain, he had built a noble monastery in Ireland, which, from the great number of oaks, is in the Scottish tongue called Dearmach - The Field of Oaks. From both of these monasteries, many others had their beginning through his disciples, both in Britain and Ireland; but the monastery in the island where his body lies, is the principal of them all.
That island has for its ruler an abbot, who is a priest, to whose direction all the province, and even the bishops, contrary to the usual method, are subject, according to the example of their first teacher, who was not a bishop, but a priest and monk; of whose life and discourses some Writings are said to be preserved by his disciples. But whatsoever he was himself, this we know for certain, that he left successors renowned for their continency, their love of God, and observance of monastic rules. It is true they followed uncertain rules in their observance of the great festival, as having none to bring them the synodal decrees for the observance of Easter, by reason of their being so far away from the rest of the world; wherefore they only practiced such works of piety and chastity as they could learn from the prophetical, evangelical, and apostolical writings. This manner of keeping Easter continued among them for the space of 150 years, till the year of our Lord's incarnation 715.

2023.06.09 17:39 Professional_Disk131 Element 79 Gold Announces 60-Day Extension to Valdo LOI (CSE:ELEM) (OTC:ELMGF)(FSE: 7YS)
| https://preview.redd.it/2dvkq81gi05b1.png?width=461&format=png&auto=webp&s=a1497315e1aea4da9ad5cc8764cd59c601968ef7 Element 79 Gold Corp. (CSE:ELEM) (OTC:ELMGF) (FSE: 7YS) (" Element 79 Gold", the " Company") announces that, further to its November 17, 2022 release announcing that the Company had entered into a non-binding letter of intent (the “Valdo LOI”) with Valdo Minerals Ltd. (“Valdo”), the parties have mutually agreed to a 60-day extension to the exclusivity period to enter into a definitive agreement for the sale of three properties from its Battle Mountain Portfolio located in the northeastern Nevada, US. The other terms of the LOI, as announced by the Company on November 17, 2022, remain unchanged. Proposed Transaction Highlights - Valdo to acquire 100% interests and obligation in:
- The North Mill Creek Project - comprised of 6 unpatented claims located at the margins of the Goat Window in Lander County, Nevada, an exposure of lower plate rocks beneath the Roberts Mountains Thrust, the preferred carbonate host of Carlin-type gold deposits.
- The Elder Creek Project - comprised of 23 unpatented claims, which cover the historic Elder Creek open-pit mine in Lander County, Nevada, hosted in upper plate rocks where the mine area is believed to represent leakage from the deeper lower plate of the Roberts Mountains Thrust.
- The Elephant Project - comprised of 197 claims located at the foot of the mine dumps at Nevada Gold Mines' Phoenix operation hosting a covered pediment target with various depths of cover based on the displacement of fault blocks.
- Valdo to issue 3,750,000 common shares at a deemed price of $0.30 CAD per share representing an aggregate value of CAD 1,125,000.
- According to the revised exclusivity period, the transaction is expected to close by July 15, 2023.
“As we progressed toward the initial term of the LOI, Valdo expressed a desire for an extension as they finalize their project structuring and capitalization plans,” said James Tworek, Element79 Gold Corp CEO. “Our collaboration with Valdo holds great promise, spurred by their continued interest in how the optioned portfolio synergizes with their other regionally adjacent projects, we are confident that this extension will pave the way for a successful closing and strong Valdo story in the future.” Element79 Gold’s Battle Mountain Portfolio The Battle Mountain Portfolio was originally comprised of 15 separate projects totaling over 44,478 acres across 2,203 unpatented claims in five counties: Elko County, Eureka County, Humboldt County, Lander County, and Nye County. Most of the Battle Mountain Portfolio is located within the Battle Mountain Trend, with several projects close to globally reputable gold deposits including Nevada Gold's Cortez Mine. The Battle Mountain Portfolio is comprised primarily of early-stage projects. While drilling has been completed at some projects, such as Elder Creek (155 holes) and Clover (104 holes), many have only surface sampling and geophysical surveys completed. Of particular note are the Long Peak, Elephant, Elder Creek, North Mill Creek, Clipper, Pipeline South, West Cortez, and Walti Projects, which are interpreted to lie along the northwest trending fault that hosts the high-grade Pipeline deposit, which is included in Nevada Gold's Cortez Mine. Qualified Person The technical information in this release has been reviewed and verified by Neil Pettigrew, M.Sc., P. Geo., Director of Element79 Gold and a "qualified person" as defined by National Instrument 43-101. About Element79 Gold Element79 Gold is a mining company focused on gold, silver and associated metals and committed to maximizing shareholder value through responsible mining practices and sustainable development of its projects. Element79 Gold's main focus is on two core properties: developing its previously-producing, high-grade gold and silver mine, the Lucero project located in Arequipa, Peru, with the intent to bring it back into production in the near term; and its flagship Maverick Springs Project located in the famous gold mining district of northeastern Nevada, USA, between the Elko and White Pine Counties. Maverick Springs hosts a 43-101-compliant, pit-constrained mineral resource estimate reflecting an inferred resource of 3.71 million ounces of gold equivalent "AuEq" at a grade of 0.92 g/t AuEq (0.34 g/t Au and 43.4 g/t Ag) with an effective date of October 19, 2022. The acquisition of the Maverick Springs Project also included a portfolio of 15 properties along the Battle Mountain trend in Nevada, which are non-core to its primary business focus. In British Columbia, Element79 Gold has executed a Letter of Intent and funded a drilling program to acquire a private company that holds the option to 100% interest of the Snowbird High-Grade Gold Project, which consists of 10 mineral claims located in Central British Columbia, approximately 20km west of Fort St. James. The Company also has an option to acquire a 100% interest in the Dale Property, 90 unpatented mining claims located approximately 100 km southwest of Timmins, Ontario, Canada in the Timmins Mining Division, Dale Township. The Company is analyzing the non-core Nevada projects, The Dale Property and Snowbird Property for further merit of exploration, sale or spin-out.
