Is Mikal Bridges a really good player and maybe even an all star? Yes. Are the Nets going anywhere with Mikal Bridges as their best player? No. Portland should trade Dame but it’s incredibly obvious that they don’t want to. Trading with teams who are being dumb is always a good idea.
Mikal is so fun to root for but he averaged 27 PPG with the Nets on 61 TS%, he didn’t get to the rim very much and he doesn’t see the floor very well. He mostly relied on absurd shot making. However despite this; the Nets were just 23rd in offense. They didn’t have any guy who could generate good shots for teammates. Bridges will also be 27 opening night next year, there’s not going to be much improvement at this point.
Scoot Henderson is a number 1 pick in the majority of NBA drafts. He is not quite a Ja Morant Derrick Rose athlete but he’s just one notch below and he’s already an excellent pull up midrange shooter. I’m not a huge draft person, but basically everyone believes in his jumper in the long run. The nets DESPERATELY lack rim pressure. Post blow up they were dead last in shots at the rim. Scoot Henderson is the ultimate rim pressure prospect, however he is far more poised than your typical athletic PG prospect and more advanced as a passer.
The nets need a franchise cornerstone and upside, and Scoot Henderson is exactly that. Anfernee Simons also has untapped potential. People don’t watch the Blazers but he’s genuinely a top 5 shooter in the NBA. He also performs MUCH better without Damian Lillard.
In 1800 possesions with Dame off the court, Simons put up 28 points and 5 assists per 75 possessions on 59 true shooting.
For a comparison, Devin Booker this season averaged 29 points and 6 assists on 60 true shooting per 75 possessions.
I admit, Simons has been kind of a disaster on defense in his young career, but he gets forced to defend tough assignments playing next to Dame. He’s also still only 23 year olds, has excellent athleticism, and a 6’8” wingspan. He is good on and off the ball as one of the best catch and shoot guys in the league on a huge volume. He’s also got an excellent long term contract.
Simons and Henderson are a young backcourt the Nets can build in the long run whose skillsets compliment each other very nicely. They’re a bit short but they both have great athleticism and wingspans. Also the Nets still have DPOY caliber big Nic Claxton, who many people forget is only 23. I think he still has more room to grow as a roller and playmaker. Basically be a poor man’s Bam on offense but he’s a lot longer than Bam is on defense. Scoot would also give Claxton a proper lob thrower and pick and roll parter. (Dinwiddie is overhated by Nets fans imo, but for whatever reason he is a truly awful pick and roll player)
I would retain Cam Johnson. You can’t lose the asset for nothing. If a team with no cap space with assets (pelicans maybe) offers the Nets a crazy sign and trade package I would totally do it, but more likely just retain the asset. Cam J can space the floor at an elite level for the Nets young backcourt and capably attack close outs and defend. Now the Nets should trade at least 1 of Royce O’Neale or DFS for a first round pick this summer, if not both. I think personally, I would keep DFS, because he’s the better defender and locked up long term, so nets can trade him later if need be. He can do the dirty work, guard the other team’s star wing, hopefully make more shots than he did to start with Brooklyn.
The nets also have Sumner back next year and he’s a low usage excellent POA defender. The nets can stagger Scoot/Simons and put sumner out there to guard the other team’s best guard.
Then with the 2 picks, I believe the Nets should target rebounders at the 4 spot. You have your guards and center of the future and maybe your small forward with CJ, but you need to get better on the glass. Leonard Miller and Noah Clowney are 2 guys I like for Nets in this range. and then ideally you trade one of these picks for a future pick and/or a young guy, because 3 rookies in the rotation is a bit much. Who knows maybe Ben Simmons can even play this role a bit. I’m skeptical he’s ever a real player again. If the Nets want to draft another wing because they’ve traded bridges and O’Neale in this scenario, Kris Murray is boring but he’ll be a good rotation player and he’s a good rebounder.
Mike Muscala is a guy I would buy low on for Nets. If Ben is ever a player again he would fit great, and Nets have lacked a stretch 5 since 2021, need different looks on offense. Muscala is one of the best shooting bigs out there. Maybe he can’t play in deeper playoff rounds but nets aren’t realistically one of those team, he wouldn’t cost more than 2 seconds. And with claxton’s switch ability they can play together some as well.
Your rotation looks something like
Scoot - Simons -Johnson - DFS -Claxton
Sumner- Thomas - Murray-Miller - Muscala/Sharpe
If Thomas/sharpe still stink then you just kinda give up on those guys, especially Dayron, I’ve never seen it at all with him.
This is a team that’s both competitive now, but has long term upside led by three players all 23 or younger, 1 of whom is already a defensive star, and the other 2 can become serious offensive stars.
Trading for dame is mortgaging the future to win 46 games and turning into the Chicago Bulls. Doing nothing is a team with a ceiling of the play in tournament and turning into the Washington wizards. The nets need to get upside.

Hey all. I'm looking to add some small engine mods to my 2019 Fusion Titanium (2.0) and I'm having some trouble finding parts for that year. I'm most interested in a
K&N intake (57-2585), and
Turbosmart blow off valve (TS-0203-1061). Both of them say they're made for 2013-2016 Fusions, but looking at them I can't see why they wouldn't work on my 2019. Anyone has any experience/advice/insight into whether or not these parts would fit?

| TL;DR: Went all ham and head first into VR racing. Going thru a divorce so I'm enjoying some "Retail Therapy". Grew up in the Atari days, played GT extensively on the PS1/2 in College. Turned into a PC snob in the 2000s. Current PC was long in the tooth, 980ti, so figured I'd see what they hype was around the PS5. Got one a month ago and started hearing all they hype around the PSVR2, so f it, YOLO and dropped the extra $$$. Oh my, GT7 in VR is nucking futs! I wanted MOAR! So of course I went down the rabbit hole and ended up ordering an ASR4 rig with the Logitech Pro. As for why I have a racing stand. The Logitech was on back order till July, so I thought I had some time to decide on an 8020 rig. Nope, got a notification last week that the wheel would be here Friday. I knew I'd be chomping at the bit to use it so I just punted and got the racing stand for the interim. Holy crap this is intense! I have several hours under my belt with just the controller on GT7. It's a completely different animal with the wheel. The sensation of speed is thru the roof! I could seriously feel my car rotating under me. It was a crazy feeling. Like my brain knows I'm stationary, but the feedback thru my hands paired with the VR seriously tripped up my brain and I felt like I was physically moving. I know the DualSense controller has pressure buttons but I never liked the digital on/off feeling of the controller with my play style. I always felt darty and chunky, like I only knew on/off movements. With the analog input with the wheel and pedals, completely different game easing onto the brake and gas turning into and out of a corner. I also dabbled with using a manual transmission in the game now that I have flappy paddles that make it easier to control the trans. That's gonna be a whole new learning curve to now use the engine braking for corner entrances. After each race finished I was physically tense and "on". Felt draining. Kinda like when you get finished with a rollercoaster and you come to your senses at the end when they slow you down before you have to get off. As for the temp rig, yeah, total wobbly piece. Can't wait to get the rock solid tank of an 8020 rig and have a proper bucket seat and race posture and position. Oh and yeah, my race car driving skills SUCK! I have sooooo much room for improvement. Can't wait to get more seat time and develope my skills! I started to really think of the logistics of having a sim rig in my bedroom. Like just how the f is that gonna look and work. I guess just get long ass usb cables to go from the TV stand to the other side of the room for where the rig will be and just us VR. But that's a total ghetto ass solution. Probably just gonna say f it and have the rig in the living room and buy a dedicated 2nd PS5 just for the rig It's also gonna be tempting to also have triples and a dedicated racing rig PC. Now to go put my credit card in a block of ice so I won't be tempted to order the D-Box motion actuators. I’m in North Texas at an indie lot. We’re not a BHPH. It’s very common for small lots, especially BHPHs, to offer free warranties to customers for the sake of keeping them on the road.
My dad owns a BHPH. He sells ~$15-20k cars and he takes care of everything for a year. Transmission goes out? He’ll replace it. If the engine overheats he’ll replace that too as long as it’s within the first year.
I, on the other hand, don’t do BHPH and make a lot less per car so even the little details can kill me. Just today I had 4 customers with Silverados all suddenly have issues with EVAP sensors.
It makes me look really bad if I tell them to kick rocks or to go through the warranty company a month after the sale.
How do you guys deal with issues post sale? Where do you draw the line?
It feels like it’s impossible to hedge against every issue on a used car. I sell them with no codes and recon them the best way I can but issues still come up later.

Good morning/evening secret Thaumaturgists.
I am proud to announce, after a year in development, the creation of the Thaumcraft Neverhood Community and its associated modpack/server. Not a day has gone by in the panoply of subreddits and many modding communities without sorrow over the passing of Thaumcraft's time. Gone are the days of public and permanent dedicated Thaumcraft servers, spent are those hidden communities, drowned are the decrepit servers and ruins are all that remain of such a golden age of Minecraft modding.
Until now.
It has been *quite* some time since a dedicated public Thaumcraft server has lifted its flag, and it is with incredible pride that I announce its resurgence. Enter: The Thaumcraft Neverhood.
You see, Thaumcraft's creator, Azanor, spent years recreating over and over Thaumcraft's wonderful system and engine, and while the particulars changed with each version, the essentials remained the same; Essentia, Marvels, Madness. Being the ultimate magic mod with no easy competition and with a depth to chew on for years alone, Thaumcraft nurtured an addon scene of quality content and magnificently crafted environments that inspired people for decades. But Minecraft changed, over and over, and with each version, Azanor had to work harder and harder, rebuilding from the ground up ad nauseum until finally it was too much, leaving his latest version, Thaumcraft 6, unfinished and lacking in his previous creations. It would then sit there, forever untouched as Azanor retreated to his own personal demiplane. Other teams have attempted to pick up the reigns with his permission, but developer hell, small crafting budgets, and other issues have kept those groups and completion of the translation in limbo for years. Even then, it would be merely recreating an unfinished version, devoid of the fullness of the experience (though I have nothing but respect for those brave communities and modders that try).
Therefore, being a general consensus of multiple communities of the fullness and total content/inclusion/addon-scene, this modpack aims to be the **perfect** Thaumcraft experience, within the 1.7.10 version ruleset of Thaumcraft 4. Accompanying Thaumcraft and a number of the highest quality works-together addon mods, are additional dimensions, each selected for excellence and thoroughness of development, a perfect time machine to that era. For such a magnificent magical system deserves an equally magnificent set of places to explore and things to do, no?
What I have here is the alpha for such a magnificent endeavor, painfully coded and blood spilt to ensure compatibility with everything. Well, most everything. I need a team of alpha testers to break this mod over its knees. Crash it, break it, boil it. Fill the Aether with seas of flux, create a calculator using only golems, see how many ender pearls a rift wand can store before it explodes. In short, I need tests, experimentation, and feedback, SO much delightful feedback. I've gone as far as I can with 1 person, and before I go public with a stable launch of a forever server, I need to anneal it to the public's inspection as I'm aiming for perfection here, not "merely good enough to load."
For those that are interested, I would greatly welcome any willing to join in to get the ball rolling, but with or without you, I am making this happen. For those that want to help influence its early shaping, come and join us!

2023.06.10 22:45 TonyMcTony [Pyanodon] Py Sci Pack 2 automated at 190 hours
| Since I sunk so many hours into this mod, thought I'd provide a sort of journal entry for my progress. This will be a long-ish post, so if you are not interested in my horrible life decisions, just scroll through and enjoy the pictures. I hope with this post, i can give some insight to the people behind me progressing in the modpack. And i hope to keep myself sane enough to keep going and write about my adventures to the next sci pack milestone, and eventually Pyrrhic Victory! Background: I started Factorio about a year ago, didn't really like it at first when i was playing through the tutorial, and actually stopped. I remember thinking "wow I just pipe water to the boiler, add some coal and my stuff are all powered?" that was sort of a turn off for me. But then after giving it another try, i decided to stick with it and try to launch a rocket. I played the default setting at first, and didn't like the pacing. I found myself advancing too fast through the tech tree. I got halfway through Blue science and didn't even really have a solid production of the components yet and felt like i was drowning. I restarted with marathon mode and it really clicked for me. Letting me learn about the basics before giving access to too many toys. In that mode i learned about dual loading belts, blueprints, trains (signals and station limits), and making 'somewhat' tileable/expandable productions. I didn't get into bots and i don't think i will. I only used Logistic bots to refill my inventory from malls and construction bots to remotely adjust my mining outposts. Launched the rocket in my marathon mode, and decided to seek more! Before i thought to jump into the big mod packs, i tried to do a marathon mode Space Extension game to learn about scaling. Wow that was not for me. I got incredibly bored of making the same thing in larger scales so i quit. So i looked for the next best thing in the list. Saw this Pyanodon pack and said, why not. Jumped straight in. The run: I started my foray into PY a few months before PyAE came out, and was sort of glad that i did around this time, so i didn't have to re-learn everything. I didn't really get too deep into PYAL yet. I had a few restarts due to realizing a lot of my errors, and decided to stop restarting about the same time the Caravan patch came in. The Caravans were so much fun, i stopped having any thoughts of quitting the mod. I started the game with the Py default settings (no biters and no pollution... my computer is old), and tried to keep it as pure as possible. The only mods i used other than the full PyAE pack were: - Even distribution (to save my mouse and index finger during the burner phase... clicking all the coal was a pain in the ash)
- Vehicle Snap (There is a lot of driving in this game, i think that's what Py intended... for you to explore. I got tired of veering off and hitting my electric poles so i made 1 tile wide brick "highways" to aid my driving, and use the mod to snap in the cardinal directions)
- To-Do list (I actually didn't use this mod much... i felt like i needed a to-do list to write the to-do list, so i gave up trying to make use of this)
- Playtime+ (Time flies fast when you're having fun. And this lets you see that :))
Since the devs of this mod pack revel in pain and suffering, i thought by keeping it as lean as possible, it would fulfill that goal. I've never used any of the other recipe searching or planning or calculator mods, i'll explain it later on if i remember.... *Sidenote about RSO* The base game resource generation is a bit janky when it comes to PY. I had to roll the map a few times because i'd say 5/10 the starting resource patches would overlap and you'd have an impossibly hard start if there's not enough iron or copper. While RSO solves this, it messes up spawning of the farther resources (So you can get unlucky and have no Zinc spawn closeby, but also on the flip side, lucky and trivialize the early game power puzzle if you get a Geothermal water spot that spawn 3-5 patches in a spot, you can run a centrifuge without any powerplans if you get 3-4 spots of 3-5 patches of geothermal! [Py default will only spawn 1 as they are very powerful in early science]) Here's the full map that i've explored. To find far resources (Salt/sulfuGeothermal etc.) i set up a fishturbine+radar in the 4 cardinal directions, let them scan fully, then move them clockwise to the intercards, let them scan, and etc. it was quite effective. Here's a closer look at the main area, with tags to identify general purpose of the spot Base showcase: K enough babbling, onto the important stuff. Start with the achievement - Py Sci 2 automated. I was going to get it under 190 but i forgot to ship my mechanical parts lol. A better view of the area. Primers, Retrovirus&DNA Polymerase, Good alien Sample and Py Sci 2. Eventually i might export science packs through that pre-planned train station (i.e. move PY sci 2 to Chem sci). Borders with the Arqad area since i needed vrauk cocoons and Arqad Venom Self sustained Arqad area. Makes its own ingredients for Vrauks and its food. I ship in Ralesia/Flora and Tin with Caravans, and have a train station bringing in red-hot coke and the Arqad combs Further down south from Arqad, i have my Korlex milk (& Casein/Tuuphra), Zipir, Paragen, Flavanoid makers. I had a tiny amount of fish makers here and quickly realized that it was quickly overwhelmed... had to expand another fish factory. The line of biomass will eventually reach my intended biomass processing area. For now it is not backing up anything (got one of those 800 slot warehouses holding animal parts [see my log sci area later]. I will make that biomass processing area soon.... Further away, at another tin patch, i started a fish factory. Here is also where i tried to play with the Aerial Discharge base. They are quirky but sorta not that worth it. I use 3 to go between this tin outpost (steam to mine) and my glassworks outpost to make steam to process tar (next screen) I realized that glass is getting used more and more and i needed to ship it (Mech parts, Biosamples, etc.) So eventually i had to create this little outpost where it receives overflow fuels (Petroleum and Gasoline) and also on site tar processing and burn all the fuel byproducts (Anthracene, aromatics, carbolic etc.) I ship out the pitch and creosote to help make red science bricks and sand casting and rails. The Aerial base here is the other end of the path from the Tin patch for fish. Steam is used to break down tar. I ship in syngas to power the oil burner for steam with an underflow. Biosample and redhot coke to the Arqad/Py Sci 2 area from before. I never automated Biosample before this (can easily hand craft for the initial ones for synthesis of Alien Life). Caravans bring in Titanium/Steel and Lead. Train ships in glass. At this point i started REALLY voiding stuff since it was getting too complicated to hook them all up to be used. Yes i can bring this muddy sludge to my moss area but it was not worth it. I never void anything with fuel values though (Except trace hydrogen in remote spots) since you can easily hook it up to overflow to a oil burner -> Steam engine. On to the best part (in my opinion). My Mechanical Parts 1 subfactory. I use 6 caravans here. My rationale is that these ingredients are used in small amounts, so 200 brains (200 round trips) of 1500+++ ingredients each trip should last me a life time. I ship in: Quartz Ore, Green circuits, Zinc plate, Rubber, Solder, and Tin plates. The Small parts and copper caravan outposts are exporter stations. I ship in glass from rails, make plastic from the wastewater from the Fish factory you saw earlier. AND.... I have a 'Janktown Express' train that brings in 4 obscure ingredients to the Mech parts factory. It brings in Titanium (just because its in the area) with the three ingredients requiring Antimony Oxide - Vitreloy (Brakes), Iron-Nex-Antimony (Shaft) and Lead-Antimony (Batteries). This is the original 'Janktown Express'. My very first train that i used to take 4 components to the Logistic Science area from the Antimony area. To this day this train is still on its own rail line and not connected to the main rail grid. Sorta like those 100 year old historic trolley trains that run through a main City. Side areas: Onto the other parts of my base, if you're still interested. Here's the Logistic sci factory area that the Janktown express drops off the 4 components to. The Auog/vrauk slaughter houses are just south and ships all the chopped up parts into a giant warehouse where it supplies the animal sample maker. Circuitry sends overflow parts to the composter for biomass. Cottonguts and Moondrops are just north (not pictured) Here's my Niobium area that i rushed since i was DYING for the niobium underground pipes. (Not sure if you noticed how much F-in pipes i have in my base yet). It's coupled with the oil sands processing area where i turn oil sands into Syngas. I like this avenue because it let's me use up all the waste products in my base. (Most) stone, and all gravel and sand are shipped here to make Filtration media/Activated Carbon. Stone is crushed into Gravel and excess gravel crushed into sand. Activated carbon turns the flue gas that Oil Sand processing produces into Syngas, and Filtration media turns the Bitumen from Oil sands into Syngas as well. It does mean i cannot burn syngas for nothing (like just using it as fuel for glass/smelters) as it WILL eat up all the stone/gravel/sand. Also have to ship in Zinc and Carbon Dust (from my Coal power plant area) via caravans Py Sci 1 maker with some landfill spaghetti before i was able to reliably mass produce landfill. I vent chlorine here since there's no good use for it (yet), and you will get A TON of it from NaOH. Here's the bulk of my power generation. I have only 3 geothermal deposits so far but even they are not able to power one centrifuge. (3 geo = ~150MW, 1 centrifuge = 207MW). This power plant provides 118x6 MW, produces ash in big quantities (and ships them out). Coal processing lets me mass produce coke through Red Hot Coke, and tons of coal dust for the Filtration Media area from before. I ended up making trees here, i think it was because of Coke -> CO2. I originally wanted to make bricks here as well (ash -> rich clay) for when i really need to jack up red science but i never followed through... i think it was not as efficient use of ash as i thought. I ship out coke here for train fuel, since you will make a LOT of them. Also i ship out hot air here as well to the smelter area. I really appreciate the tar deposits since there's a very simple tech that lets you make simple power setups. Tar + Vacuum = Coke + Heavy oil will let you run both Oil and Coal power plants to make power in a compact setup. the Tar deposits don't look like they will run out anytime soon either. I might make more of these tar deposits around the map later on. (I haven't touched crude oil yet, but will probably do so next). Nat gas (the last of the 3 bitumen seep resources) is required for Arqads. and Finally, a wide shot of the (starter) centre of my base, based around the crashed ship. This shows the seaweed/moss/ralesia areas better as well as the Auog/Vrauk areas, and Cottongut/Moondrop areas up top. The middle right side area was a LOT more congested with early smelting but i eventually moved them out to another area. Yes there's a lot of slaked lime pooled up that i am waiting for the next research (salt products) to use them. (Hope you like the creative use of landfill to cross lakes). Final Word: Some regrets that i had, and thought i'd share: - I really liked Caravans since they had near instant transfer (Faster than any stacked inserters... 1500 items per swing!). But i think i had a misguided vision when i used them for delivering raw ores to my smelting lines. They will require more maintenance from me (putting brains/food in them) as usage goes up. I am not looking forward to squeezing trains in to replace those caravans. But caravans for low quantity items are still amazing for their simplicity.
- I probably automated Py sci 2 too early? I still have a lot of Log sci techs to go lol. Still have Phosphorous, MIBC, Molybdenum, guar and lubricant techs to research (and the TURD upgrades, if im interested in any). I remember i was completely done with Py1 sciences before i got my first Log sci pack at around 50 hours.
- I hopped into Quartz 2 WAY TOO EARLY. i totally underestimated the amount of fine sand you need. My god you need a lot. It really crippled my petri dish making capabilities (and then crippled my Py Sci 1). I made a ton of sand makers and then ended up with a billion muddy sludge, and i finally gave in to voiding it indiscriminately (Overflow valve -> sinkhole). This might be the reason why i still have so many log sci techs to research. I will likely hook up the glass outpost to dump molten glass to my py sci 1 area before long.
- Not taking the time to learn and figure out how to deal with creatures that use 10++ barrels of liquids and barreling machines. I had my arqad/korlex facilities back up so many times because the barreling machine was full and they could not take out any more empty barrels causing a jam. I think eventually i realized that those facilities do not start taking any ingredients in until it shits out all the empty barrels. Once i started paying attention to this fact, i was able to solve this headache.
Some words for the dev team: - This modpack is amazing. I think not using any QOL mods really makes this modpack shine. I believe using calculators or recipe searchers, just basically turn this masterpiece into building Ikea furniture. I.e. you look up Py Sci 2, it spells out exactly what you need to make it and which buildings, and then you just follow it to the tee, place them one after the other, hook them up and voila, you (after a long time) have Py Sci 2.
- The buff to reinforced concrete, while INCREDIBLE (i can zip from one side of my base to the other, and don't have to rely on a car and avoid crashing into my own shit), made all the other cool tiles obsolete. Reinforced concrete is comparably much easier to make, and give the max speed (350%), while the other tiles (asphalt/iron oxide tile/etc.) give only 250% or matches the 350%. The higher tier cooler tiles should go up to even 500%. Also, i am not sure if the better tiles give faster driving speeds too? that would be nice too (if you don't rely on trains to get around).
- Caravans. Whoever made Caravans able to path through trees and pipes, made these guys so much fun to use. I remember before this minipatch, i had to design my buildings in ways that the caravan ogres don't get stuck. Now they almost always are able to find a way through unless you put overflow/underflow valves in tight pipe setups or they get stuck on another caravan lol.
- Solar and Tidal power seems a bit weak (at least at mk1). They are a pain to make and only give 5?MW (AND variable). Maybe if you bite the bullet and make a TON of them right when it makes sense to, it will pay off eventually, but so far the coal and oil powerplants overshadow the renewables. I assume when i get the processed biomass up and running it will be one more strike against Solar and Tidal.
Finally, i hope to continue this amazing modpack and maybe one day make that "PY COMPLETED" post like some of you have done so already. I really cannot believe how fast those guys who posted the PY COMPLETED posts have beaten this pack! PYAE only came out in december 2022? I cannot remember how many times i open the game, look at one of the recipes and immediately went to bed. I think it there were a good 3 or 4 times where i opened up the recipe for Good Alien Samples at night after coming home from work, take a look, and just shut the game down. I have 15L 3kw under-sink Ariston Water Heater which was installed by a Gas Safe Engineer and has been working fine for a year. However, recently, it started leaking a small amount of water from the cold (blue) water input/connection to the water heater.
I called a Gas Safe Engineer who removed the Dielectric Junction from the cold water connection on the heater and inspected/replaced a washer and re-applied PTFE tape. After this, the leak has stopped but now the hot water from the water heater has drastically reduced hot water flow/pressure. The unit serves 1 x basin and 1 x sink and the drop in hot water pressure is noticeable.
Any ideas?

I remember being a kid with the wildest, visual imagination. Up until I’d say around 15 I had a fantastic ability to conjure all sorts of things, in image form and in motion. I could rotate anything and see it crystal clear. But ever since it’s been on the decline, and now I’m 19 and the ability is nearly gone entirely.
For example, if you told me to think of an apple, I can ‘see it’ but at the same time not. Like it’s a small dot in the top corner of a picture, I really can’t explain it. It feels so distance and far. I am physically and mentally well apart from CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome.) so other than that I don’t know why my ability is deteriorating. Maybe the fatigue had an impact on my visualisation skills?
This saddens me greatly because I used to be able to genuinely conjure up any scenario for hours before bed in vivid detail. Also following books and going into a different world was amazing.

I want to GM Pathfinder 2e, but I have some questions first that aren't clear to me—regarding exploration mode and skill usage.
I have been reading AON, but I have not yet bought the Core rulebooks. I have bought the Beginner Box.
My background comes from D&D, but I then dabbled in PbtA and Blades in the Dark. I learned a lot of lessons from those games that I want to incorporate into the trad game of Pathfinder 2e. But I am also reminded of the careful balance put by the devs in the game; balance that might clash with the established lessons learned from Apocalypse engine games and Blades.
So I don't really know what to do. Redditors of the internet, I ask of you these questions thee. Please help me.
Most of these questions have a between-the-lines question attached that I would want to have answered: "what is the intent here?"
- I assume in a regular game session, you switch continuously between Encounter Mode and Exploration Mode. The default mode is Exploration Mode, you encounter enemies and enter Encounter Mode. Finishing up combat, you go back to Exploration Mode, until you encounter another set of enemies and enter Encounter Mode again. You are not staying in Encounter Mode exploring an entire dungeon. Are my assumptions here correct?
If my assumption is not correct, may I assume instead there is this floating free-form roleplay happening, with sometimes the game zooming in to Encounter Mode and sometimes going to a defined Exploration Mode, after which you return to the free-form no-explicit-mode roleplay thing?
- The game rules have a paragraph about failing forward. This is contrasted by many Skill actions (such as Climb) that have blank fail states. Should I fill these blank fail results in with narrative Consequences?
"As you try to climb this wall, you accidentally grab a part of a loose rock. It crumbles and falls down, revealing a small cavern. Inside, a group of bats and behind them, a treasure chest. As the loose rocks fall down, they make noise, waking up the bats. Roll initiative. Yes, while climbing."
I do understand that in Encounter Mode, nothing happening means you still lose an Action. Which might mean the enemy can get an extra turn in and attack you. There is still risk, even without immediate consequence. My question refers to Exploration mode here.
- Should consequences, if added, always have to relate to the skill itself? Rock climbing and loose rocks. As an alternative, the environment can take an action as a consequence instead; separate from the actual skill check made. Rock climbing and as a consequence, a guard noticing the PCs climbing.
- Should I also add consequences to a critical fail, even when they are defined and in addition to their effects? E.g. "You fall down."
A fail can be interpreted as a partial success rather than a miss. You do what you want to do, but there is a consequence. This partial success is in reference to a fail often meaning you still deal half damage, rather than no damage.
When I speak of consequences, I have a policy to never ever make it seem like a PC does something stupid, like many fumble card rules seem to imply. This is often achieved by pure narrative. A sword does not slip out of the PC's hands. Instead, the PC makes an accurate attack, but the goblin flicks the sword out of the PC's hand at the last second. The PC is a competent combatant, but sadly for them, so is the goblin.
- The Beginner Box asks the GM to have players roll skill checks. Reading AON, there seems to be a bigger focus on Skill actions, almost to the point that one can read that skill checks don't even exist and it's Skill actions only. What is the intended idea here?
- Are Skill checks/actions intended as a fiction-first move or a mechanics-first action?
In this context, with fiction-first play I mean that a player tells what they do in the fiction first and conveys their intent, then the GM tells them what they should roll based on what they do and with which intent.
Player: "I want to climb on top of this Giant to get to the top of the wall."
GM: "That sounds like a Climb action to me."
Player: "I want to climb on top of this Halfling to squash them with my weight."
GM: "That sounds like a Strike action to me."
In mechanics-first play, the player chooses the Action they want to take first, making what happens in the fiction fluff that can be ignored.
Player: "I attack the goblin. Does a 17 hit?"
Especially with Skill actions, are they intended to be triggered from fiction or are they chosen by players as actual actions?
- Before a roll is made, are take-backsies and back-and-forths with the GM possible?
- Can players choose the Skill check/action or is the GM the decider of the roll made? In the next example, the GM sets the DC, but does not choose the skill check.
Player: "I'm using Acrobatics to climb swiftly on this wall."
GM: "Okay, make a DC 20 roll."
Player: "That sounds like a lot. How about I just be careful and use Athletics instead?"
GM: "Okay, then make a roll against DC 15 instead."
- Are there any guidelines for GM moves as improvised consequences? Like "Deal 1d6 damage is fine, 10d6 damage is too much. Never split the party as a consequence. You may take away a resource, such as a torch, or a spellbook, but only temporarily."
- Should all lethal fights be happening in Encounter Mode? Or can I assume when the Rogue assassinates the Guard from the shadows, they can do so as a single action in Exploration Mode; keeping Encounter Mode for the big fights and boss battles only? If not, I assume trying to kill the Guard always sets up Encounter Mode and initiative is rolled.
Failing the assassination might make the Guard ready for combat as a consequence, and still trigger Initiative rolls. In which the Guard is most likely going to call for backup.
- Bonus question: Can Encounter Mode be used for other things than physical combat? I am thinking of using it as an interrogation, with Strikes be representing telling facts, and the victim being at 0 hp representing them finally giving up their secrets; while still being alive and well. Or hp representing the trust the public has in the politician as you talk down the politician in a political debate.
Or is Encounter mode specifically reserved for physical usually-lethal combat?

Got gas in some small town in northern Italy and asked a cop where a toilet may be for my wife. After he finished in mostly pantomime English I asked him about his holster. It was pointed backwards with the handle up, a very awkward draw I commented. He had a PT92 as do I. He demonstrated it rotating quickly and said it for in the car. A quick google found zip, do you know who makes these?

| TL;DR: Went all ham and head first into VR racing. Going thru a divorce so I'm enjoying some "Retail Therapy". Grew up in the Atari days, played GT extensively on the PS1/2 in College. Turned into a PC snob in the 2000s. Current PC was long in the tooth, 980ti, so figured I'd see what they hype was around the PS5. Got one a month ago and started hearing all they hype around the PSVR2, so f it, YOLO and dropped the extra $$$. Oh my, GT7 in VR is nucking futs! I wanted MOAR! So of course I went down the rabbit hole and ended up ordering an ASR4 rig with the Logitech Pro. As for why I have a racing stand. The Logitech was on back order till July, so I thought I had some time to decide on an 8020 rig. Nope, got a notification last week that the wheel would be here Friday. I knew I'd be chomping at the bit to use it so I just punted and got the racing stand for the interim. Holy crap this is intense! I have several hours under my belt with just the controller on GT7. It's a completely different animal with the wheel. The sensation of speed is thru the roof! I could seriously feel my car rotating under me. It was a crazy feeling. Like my brain knows I'm stationary, but the feedback thru my hands paired with the VR seriously tripped up my brain and I felt like I was physically moving. I know the DualSense controller has pressure buttons but I never liked the digital on/off feeling of the controller with my play style. I always felt darty and chunky, like I only knew on/off movements. With the analog input with the wheel and pedals, completely different game easing onto the brake and gas turning into and out of a corner. I also dabbled with using a manual transmission in the game now that I have flappy paddles that make it easier to control the trans. That's gonna be a whole new learning curve to now use the engine braking for corner entrances. After each race finished I was physically tense and "on". Felt draining. Kinda like when you get finished with a rollercoaster and you come to your senses at the end when they slow you down before you have to get off. As for the temp rig, yeah, total wobbly piece. Can't wait to get the rock solid tank of an 8020 rig and have a proper bucket seat and race posture and position. Oh and yeah, my race car driving skills SUCK! I have sooooo much room for improvement. Can't wait to get more seat time and develope my skills! I started to really think of the logistics of having a sim rig in my bedroom. Like just how the f is that gonna look and work. I guess just get long ass usb cables to go from the TV stand to the other side of the room for where the rig will be and just us VR. But that's a total ghetto ass solution. Probably just gonna say f it and have the rig in the living room and buy a dedicated 2nd PS5 just for the rig It's also gonna be tempting to also have triples and a dedicated racing rig PC. Now to go put my credit card in a block of ice so I won't be tempted to order the D-Box motion actuators. Metal screeched into the sky, followed by thick gouts of smoke and sparks as the engine died, spluttering out with its turbines. The Valkyrie transport seemed to slump, dipping it’s nose before the pilot yanked back on the stick. Panicked, his partner twisted in his seat to check on the cargo, even as shells from Ork Autocannons slammed into the hold. Below, the toxic ash wastes beckoned, promising radioactivity and death. All this, just for a damned box!
Miles away from the Valkyrie and it’s plight, an enormous lander ship set itself down upon a hive city’s landing pads ungracefully. Grotesque servitors and tech priests scurried around the huge, boxy ship like ants as steam hissed from the unfurling ramps, allowing daylight to flood into the ship. The massive object within stood patiently like a coiled spring, waiting for clearance to move out even as a welcoming party assembled to watch the spectacle.
For the stricken Valkyrie, there was no welcoming committee. There was only industrial waste leaning up from the radioactive fog, cranes and beams reaching up toward the craft as it’s altitude got lower and lower. With.the wastes eager to claim their prize, the co pilot began frantically lobbing things out of the side doors. Food, ammunition, even seat cushions crossed the short distance to the toxic, fog shrouded sands below . For a brief moment, he considered throwing the box out too, before he remembered who had given them their mission. It was imperative that the cargo stayed. Not like a box that small would affect the weight.
The hive’s pads and strurs trembled as shockwaves rolled through them,, heralding the arrival of the lander’s occupant: the Phoenix Imperator. The collosal, twelve metre tall Imperial Knight stepped out onto the pads, pistons and servos powering huge feet that crashed onto the worn metal of the pad. It was hard to believe that all the power the war machine held was controlled by a single man, encased in Adamantium and Ion shields, with a Thunderstrike Gauntlet and heavy stubber to protect it. The true power of the Imperial Knight however was in it’s Thermal Cannon, capable of reducing tanks to a pool of molten metal in an instant, or vaporising bunkers in the blink of an eye.
Out amongst the Ash Wastes, no amount of adamantium could protect the pilots of the Valkyrie from it’s fate. Leering up from the toxic smog, the Valkyrie’s pilots didn’t spot a piece of rubble until it was far, far too late. The Valkyrie blundered into it’s doom as steel ripped apart the remaining engine. An explosion bloomed like a flower, beautiful and deadly before shrapnel eagerly tore through the pilot’s helmet. The aircraft span out of control wildly, ploughing into the radioactive soil and scraping out a long trench before it came to a rest on it’s side, it’s cargo strung out all over the terrain.
The crash meant nothing to most of the figures circling the Phoenix Imperator as it strode across the pad, almost shrouded in incense. As the vibrations from the Knight’s footsteps passed through the teeming mass of spectators, it unknowingly entered a second battlefield, far more destructive than the teeming hordes of Orks beyond the hive’s walls. A battlefield where it was prey.
Even as the knight's scion moved his war machine past her podium, the governess of the world remained scowling. Not only had her court techpriest ordered one her own Valkyries on an unsanctioned mission, she'd chosen to do so using two of her best pilots. Privately, she hoped it crashed. That way, it'd sabotage the Techpriest's schemes and allow her to send out a search party to steal whatever it was she wanted, right from under her nose. She already had the party lined up, including a promising girl from her own retinue of bodyguards. Besides, she could lure the Knight scion in with promises of power and wealth. If only that damned inquisitor would keep her nose out...
Arethia Jyre. That, as far as the governess was concerned, was the name of the inquisitor. An alter ego, but she didn't care what some bratty little governess thought. The inquisitor was here on the business of her ordo, especially where the Adeptus Mechanicus was concerned. She knew one of them had sent out a Valkyrie- even put a tracker on it. What she didn't know was what the cargo was. Still, she could always send out a party of inquisitorial agents to seize it, or recover the cargo should it crash. It would be a good test for a particularly enterprising young woman in her retinue. She'd be able to report back on this knight as well. If he was any good, he'd be a valuable addition to an inquisitorial retinue...
Of course, the governess and the inquisitor would want the Valkyrie and it's cargo. But, as far as the Adepta Sororitas Abbess was concerned, the relic contained within should be hers. After all, the ecclesiarchy dealt with faith and relics. Her sisters in the Orders Famulous knew what roughly the cargo would be, after all. Still, a rapid response unit of Sisters was prepared for anything, especially if the Valkyrie should fail to arrive. She'd ensured one of her own protégés was amongst the force. It would be a good test, if nothing else. Perhaps she'd even convince the Knight scion to save his soul and align with her convent...
The techpriest had given the now-wrecked Valkyrie it’s mission, after all. She'd damned the pilots of the gunship to slow deaths, be it through the blood that left the pilot’s body or the onslaught of radiation that now ensnared his partner. She had plans and grand designs for the cargo they had been ordered to carry at any cost, and would stop at nothing to see those plans come to fruition...
Hey there! Here I go again, posting a 40k prompt for the upteenth time! You'd have thought I'd learn my lesson by now but no, here my persistent ass is!
You may have also guessed by now that I’m a huge 40k fan! Also a fan of big stompy robots and forbidden romances, so it’s fairly natural that I’d make a knight focused plot. To set things in stone:
We’re on a hive world being visited by the local Ork Waaaagh! and you know what that means.
Meanwhile, there’s a 4 way political cold war between the governess of this planet, the sisters of battle, the admech and the Inquisition. To help turn the tide against the greenskins, I’ve just arrived in my Imperial Knight, completely unaware of the mess I’ve wandered into! Of course, this being the Imperium, everyone wants an Imperial Knight for an ally. Depending on how the dice rolls, we could be fighting orks, tyrannids, the Imperium or chaos.
AS FOR YOUR CHARACTER You’ll notice I’ve left your character pretty much open ended. That’s intentional! Ideally, you'll play a character within the retinue of either the Inquisitor, governess, techpriestess and the abbess, where you'll be sent with me on a mission that then kicks off the plot and its many consequences.
Obviously, there's a lot to read here, and a lot of lore backing it up. With that being said, Don't be too concerned or intimidated if you don't know too much about 40k. What to do if you pissed off your siding contractor? I hired a contractor a month ago. He did a great job except for a few things. First he left holes in my roof from scaffolding, which were caulked. He also covered my spigot flange with siding, drywall screws to hold gfci outlet outside, and small things like this. I’m an engineer so at the completion of the job, I sent him a punch list of things to fix. He hated this! It has pictures and all the things I had issues with. He fixed everything except the roof. He kept saying it is normal, he’s been In business for xx amount of years and never had issues. I told him it was a few year old roof and was upset by having caulk marks on it. I then got 4 roofing companies that gave me an estimate from $600-$1,000 to fix the roof. I sent him each companies name and he flipped out. He said he won’t fix anything else to me and said no more emails. He left a check the next morning and said he was done. I felt bad, wrote him an apology that I stressed myself out and him as well. Should I just leave things be? I think he was scared I’d sue him. That wasn’t my intention. I just wanted a good job and not to worry about the roof

If you count 10th and 12th marks 10th :- 86.4% cbse 12th :- 1st time 49% gseb/state 2nd time 43% gseb/state My story :- i am a 19 year old boy who first took commerce because all people near me said CA's make alot. I was like ok lemme be a CA. Cut to 3 months later i left commerce and took science because i thought i loved maths and physics and i read that iits or engineering make even more. I was like ok engineering bannege. IIT b cse is mine. Then i started going coaching for jee and stuff i but covid started. Like i passed 10th in march 2020 and covid came in march 2020. Online studies. Even after paying attention in clases i didn't self studied. Long story short i completed my 11th with massive backlogs but i didn't lose hope i made a time table of how i am going to study 13hrs a day from " tomorrow " but ofc tomorrow never came. Now a little about my parents they almost hate each other and around when my 12th was completed 70% they were on the verge of divorce. Now this fighting of my parents was happening almost everyday in my 12th and also around for 2 months i got into massive video game addiction as i thought there is time and maybe to distract myself from my house. All this was happening while my father got a massive hit in his business because of covid and he got cheated on so now financially our house is week. Now cut to one month in my boards i had never practiced for written exams only for mcqs for 2 years. My mock marks were bad. Now i thought ofc i can do it as i have studied all the topics and chapters. Just have to write in subjective form. Turns out its fuckin hard to remember longs paragraphs if you are habitual to remembering just formulas and concepts. And guess what procrastination hits me and i didn't prepared. Long story short i got 49% in boards i got so demotivated and depressed at that time i didn't gave jee. Now a new idea or keeda came in my mind. I asked myself do i even want to be a engineering and i was like no. I don't i want to be an entrepreneur or have a business. This was before shark tank so no i really want to. How do i become one and make money....... three letters M B A. Yes i will do an MBA. So i talk to one of the teachers in an institution where they prepare students for cat and also do online research guess what i found out. 12th marks fuckin matter in mba yes. If you wanna go in IIM ABC or any top 20 to 30 b schools in india after college as a freshie you atleast gotta have 65 to 70% percent just to get in an interview. I was like ok if i drop and just focus on boards i will surely get 90 up %. So i fought with everyone in my house and took a drop. Till now i have many good habits and a routine. Now in my life enters a new word. "Overconfidence" yes ladis and gentlemen i got overconfident as boards are easy in comparison to jee. So i didn't studied for first 3 months. Guess what happens my grandfather got sick we rush to the hospital and he was there for about 3 days and i had to stay with him. But the days keep increasing and for 6 months me and my father had to take rounds of hospital and ofc i didn't studied a single day during that time. Now i lost him in December. Also by this time i have started reading atomic habits as i thought it could help me place a routine also i went to a doctor for ADHD checkup and he said that might take time i don't have it so he gave me pills for minor ocd problems which i was facing. Now jan 2023 new year. Good time for everyone and worst for me. Now i started studying online with my cousin sis and helping her studying for jee and myself studying for boards. Now by this time i have lost all my discipline, routine and intrest to study. Even when i started studying in 10 to 15 mins i would start watching YouTube or browsing reddit. Even when i am on meet with my sis. Long story short after 2 months i lost hope and gave up. Whenever i looked at my syllabus i thought i could never do this and then got 43% in boards.
After my boards went to my nani house also told every relative that i won't get good marks. And believe me when i say this i have heard everything you can imagine and one can say about after taking drop and not getting good marks even this time.
Right now in my life i have been told everyday by my father to join me in his business and do btech from a tier 3 college with it.
Even after all this has happened with me and i have failed several times if you also count my small failures with the big ones i mentioned i still somehow got believe and hope. Idk how but i still believe that i will be one of the most successful persons. But with this belief there is also a massive self dbout.
Now i am thinking to do BBA as you don't have to study in it here you can just pass with studying before 2 days of exam and to learn a skill online like coding and digital marketing or sales and gain experience in these fields with internships and jobs. I will start doing this things when i get my laptop i have ordered after like fighting for 3 months for it.
I know i might have lost a good tag or pedigree by not getting into iit but i believe i can make my own pedigree in future that is my skill.
Please suggest me or correct me or criticise me or anything constructive and contributing that might help. I am just a 19 year old with big dreams and your advice might help me achieve them. This phase might be the worst but i get pass it i hope. Thanks for reading till here. Have a nice day

Good morning/evening secret Thaumaturgists.
I am proud to announce, after a year in development, the creation of the Thaumcraft Neverhood Community and its associated modpack/server. Not a day has gone by in the panoply of subreddits and many modding communities without sorrow over the passing of Thaumcraft's time. Gone are the days of public and permanent dedicated Thaumcraft servers, spent are those hidden communities, drowned are the decrepit servers and ruins are all that remain of such a golden age of Minecraft modding.
Until now.
It has been *quite* some time since a dedicated public Thaumcraft server has lifted its flag, and it is with incredible pride that I announce its resurgence. Enter: The Thaumcraft Neverhood.
You see, Thaumcraft's creator, Azanor, spent years recreating over and over Thaumcraft's wonderful system and engine, and while the particulars changed with each version, the essentials remained the same; Essentia, Marvels, Madness. Being the ultimate magic mod with no easy competition and with a depth to chew on for years alone, Thaumcraft nurtured an addon scene of quality content and magnificently crafted environments that inspired people for decades. But Minecraft changed, over and over, and with each version, Azanor had to work harder and harder, rebuilding from the ground up ad nauseum until finally it was too much, leaving his latest version, Thaumcraft 6, unfinished and lacking in his previous creations. It would then sit there, forever untouched as Azanor retreated to his own personal demiplane. Other teams have attempted to pick up the reigns with his permission, but developer hell, small crafting budgets, and other issues have kept those groups and completion of the translation in limbo for years. Even then, it would be merely recreating an unfinished version, devoid of the fullness of the experience (though I have nothing but respect for those brave communities and modders that try).
Therefore, being a general consensus of multiple communities of the fullness and total content/inclusion/addon-scene, this modpack aims to be the **perfect** Thaumcraft experience, within the 1.7.10 version ruleset of Thaumcraft 4. Accompanying Thaumcraft and a number of the highest quality works-together addon mods, are additional dimensions, each selected for excellence and thoroughness of development, a perfect time machine to that era. For such a magnificent magical system deserves an equally magnificent set of places to explore and things to do, no?
What I have here is the alpha for such a magnificent endeavor, painfully coded and blood spilt to ensure compatibility with everything. Well, most everything. I need a team of alpha testers to break this mod over its knees. Crash it, break it, boil it. Fill the Aether with seas of flux, create a calculator using only golems, see how many ender pearls a rift wand can store before it explodes. In short, I need tests, experimentation, and feedback, SO much delightful feedback. I've gone as far as I can with 1 person, and before I go public with a stable launch of a forever server, I need to anneal it to the public's inspection as I'm aiming for perfection here, not "merely good enough to load."
For those that are interested, I would greatly welcome any willing to join in to get the ball rolling, but with or without you, I am making this happen. For those that want to help influence its early shaping, come and join us!
