Reminders for Dust of Dreams

Notes on half a book

Dust of Dreams is an odd read. It hasn't seen the reconsideration that Toll the Hounds has; it's ranked ninth in our last reader survey. The Author's Note at the beginning spells out some of the reasons:

Dust of Dreams is the first half of a two-volume novel, to be concluded with The Crippled God. Accordingly, if you’re looking for resolutions to various story-threads, you won’t find them. Also, do note that there is no epilogue and, structurally, Dust of Dreams does not follow the traditional arc for a novel.

He's not kidding. But that's not the whole story.
DoD does have a climax, but it feels more like the mid-book climax that is Y'ghatan in The Bonehunters chapter 7. It's monumental, it changes things, but it doesn't reach out and incorporate disparate storylines or tie together themes. It also arrives incredibly suddenly and catches me off guard even when I know what's coming.
More generally, DoD takes its time. Erikson continues to lean in to the slow character moments that characterize Toll the Hounds, but now does so with the urgency dictated by the imminent conclusion of the series. Theme drives DoD as much as plot -- to the extent that some readers like to claim that basically nothing happens.
There are two specific things to look out for as you read. First, there's a specific plot that seems very odd if you don't catch one hint in the prologue. In order to not give away the game, u/kashmora and I have decided to discuss that plot in more detail under spoiler tags in order to maintain a balance between spoon-feeding the reveal and actually having something to say.
Second, there's a notorious event in chapter 15. It's effectively foreshadowed and won't come as a huge shock, but it's brutal. If any previous sexual violence has bothered you, this is guaranteed to turn your stomach. It's handled respectfully, but it's vile. As the chapter approaches, we will likely give lines and timestamps to stop and then restart reading if you feel you just can't do it.
I genuinely like Dust of Dreams (and, unusually, tend to rate it over The Crippled God). But it's an experience.

Characters

Since Dust of Dreams picks up largely where Reaper's Gale left off, we have a somewhat limited cast of new characters. That said, a) we continue to expand on the Lether continent and b) we're bringing back characters we haven't seen since The Bonehunters.

Errastas: The Errant, Master of Holds. Likes to "push" and claims that to be his nature.
Kilmandaros: Primarily known for pummeling her problems into dust. Mother of Sechul Lath.
Sechul Lath: Knuckles, the Lord of Chance and Mischance. He, like his mother, seems to have extra joints and a horizontally hinged sternum.
Mael: Bugg, Tehol's one-time man-servant and now Ceda, Chancellor, and Treasurer. Also the god of the sea.
Ursto Hoobutt and Pinosel: Ancient gods of beer, wine, and fertility.
Olar Ethil: Goddess and Soletaken Eleint Bonecaster of the T'lan Imass.
Togg and Fanderay: The Wolves of Winter, gods of war and current occupants of the Beast Throne. Worshiped by the Perish Grey Helms and, before their destruction, the Grey Swords under Toc Anaster.
Grizzin Farl: An ancient god, now disappeared.

Sheb: An ex-convict. Sentenced to what amounts to a death sentence, he survived prison, though was significantly changed for it.
Rautos: A man with scant few memories, reminiscings of his wife, and a familiar name.
Taxilian: An architect from the city of Taxila, Seven Cities, also with a familiar name.
Nappet: Another Letherii ex-convict. He's a bully.
Breath: A Letherii witch that's filled with spite & thoughts of drowning.
The Ghost: An unnamed character that can move between the Wanderers at will. Has peculiar memories, though is presumably incorporeal.

The Refugium

Rud Elalle: Son of Menandore and Udinaas, growing up very fast (think Silverfox).
Ulshun Pral: A leader of the Bentract Imass of the Refugium. Son of Onrack T'emlava and Kilava Onas.
- Seren Pedac: Acquitor and budding mage of Mockra, Trull's widow.
Udinaas: Former slave to the Sengar household and former confidant of Rhulad. Dark, cynical, but way too insightful.

Masan Gilani: Dal Honese heavy and excellent rider. She has... other charms. Technically in Urb's squad?

Civilians

Banaschar: Former high priest of D'rek, the Worm of Autumn. Stole the entire temple coffers after D'rek killed her followers (except Tayschrenn and Banaschar himself).
Withal: "Foreigner" from The Bonehunters and the Meckros blacksmith who made Rhulad's sword for the Crippled God.
Sandalath Drukorlat: Tiste Andii wife of Withal. First killed long ago, her soul was released by the Crimson Guards traveling with Seren Pedac in Midnight Tides. She was restored as a companion for Withal and it didn't go well at first. Now they're married, so something worked out?
Grub: Keneb's adopted son. Walked the Chain of Dogs. Now the only friend of Sinn. Has a knack for saying prophetic things. Oh, and there's an epigraph in House of Chains (Chapter 19, if you're curious) that identifies him as a future First Sword of the Malazan Empire.

We meet a surviving nest - Ampelas Rooted - headed by Matron Gunth'an Acyl. She is guarded by J'an Sentinels (Bre'nigan), K'ell Hunters (Sag'Churok, Kor Thuran, Rythok) and Shi'gal Assassins (Gu'Rull). Her One Daughter is called Gunth Mach who was last seen cutting down Redmask at the end of RG, along with Sag'Churok.

The Snake

A group of refugee children on the run from Kolanse, marching through hostile lands and suffering from hunger and thirst. The train is led by the oldest/tallest boy among them, called Rutt. He carries a baby called Held. His second in command is Badalle, who is also our main Snake POV character. Other notable children among them are Saddic who follows Badalle and commits her poems to memory; Brayderal who seems pale inspite of the harsh sun.

The Shake

Yedan Derryg: Half-brother to Yan Tovis. Known for a chiseled jaw.
Yan Tovis: Preda at Shake Tower, also called Twilight.
Pully and Skwish: Ancient Shake witches.

White Face Barghast and Associates

Onos Toolan: Warleader of the White Face Barghast. You may note, technically not Barghast.
Hetan: His wife. Daughter of the late Humbrall Taur.
Cafal: Hetan's brother and Great Warlock of the White Faces.
Setoc (of the Wolves): Known as Stayandi. A Letherii child and sole survivor of Redmask's attack in Reaper's Gale. Now a wolf-born child with an innate connection to wolves.

The Bolkando

Chancellor Rava: Chancellor of the Bolkando Kingdom. Is oddly attracted to Felash. Is also in his seventies while Felash is fourteen.
Conquestor Avalt: Military commander of the Bolkando Army with the glaring exception of the Evertine Legion. A decent military commander and he looks the part.
Queen Abrastal: also called Firehair, commands the Evertine legion, co-ruler of the Bolkando lands
Princess Felash: 14th daughter of Queen Abrastal, deemed the cleverest by her mother, 14 years old, away from the kingdom on a diplomatic mission.

Forkrul Assail

There are Pures, Watered and Shriven. The Pures are - as the name suggests - pure-blooded Forkrul Assail. The Watered are hybrids of Forkrul Assail and other races - often humans - while the Shriven refer to any race that doesn't have enough Forkrul blood to be considered Watered. The Shriven are essentially the slave caste of the Forkrul.

Other

Icarium: Half-Jaghut son of Gothos. Cursed to forget but immensely powerful.

The Malaz 14th - now Tavore's Bonehunters - invaded the Letherii Empire, ostensibly as a punitive expedition against the Tiste Edur raiding on Imperial lands (namely, Sepik). At the same time, due to machinations by Tehol Beddict, in conjunction with the Malazan invasion, Letherii society was in intense upheaval which ended in a defacto revolution placing Tehol at the head of the Kingdom of Lether.
In a similar timeframe, Icarium Lifestealer activated a strange machine with far-reaching consequences, one of the many among which being levelling an entire city block and killing - among others - Taxilian, Senior Assessor, Taralack Veed, and Rautos Hivanar.
The Errant was bound to Feather Witch through a temple sanctified in his name, and though he eventually won out - drowning Feather Witch in the fetid waters beneath Letheras - he lost his eye. The loss of power stings, and due to a combination of factors, the Errant craves a return to his ancient power. Also, Brys Beddict has returned to the world of the living.
There's a whole lot of skykeeps within the Imperial Warren, as well as a handful of dragons nailed to crosses throughout the books - among them, an "otataral dragon" as witnessed by Pearl & Lostara in House of Chains, and Sorrit, a dragon aspected to Serc, as found by Icarium & Mappo in the Bonehunters.
Redmask failed - and died - in whatever quest the K'Chain Che'Malle set to him, and it seems they're getting desperate.
Silchas Ruin set off to attack Letheras but was beaten back - chiefly by a few well-placed cussers to the face. "Fucking dragon."

Note: Given the extensive Dramatis and the convergence of dozens of threads in this pre-final book, we are stopping the intro here. We plan to update more and expand this further as we keep reading.

Sorry, I am making this post to hold myself accountable and get some encouragement from the seasoned vets!
I am a binge drinker. I cannot have 2 drinks. Well I could.. but generally speaking it would cause mental turmoil and a feeling of uneasiness if I were to do that each time. I typically drink anywhere from 6-12 drinks in one session/night. Usually hard seltzers or beer, sometimes with wine and vodka thrown in the mix.
The drinking itself is usually fun and I haven't really done anything too bizarre, but I am done dealing with the hangovers and the after-effects of hangxiety and paranoia that come the next few days after binging multiple days in a row.. this is just not worth it. Why do I continue to put my mind and body through this chemical-induced nonsense?
So with that being said, tonight is my last night drinking for a long time. I got my 8 pack of High Noon with me, I am going to enjoy it with no regrets, and then I'm done. I am doing this as a big test for myself. Starting tomorrow on June 10th 2023, I will go 205 days without having a single drop of alcohol. I want to see just how good I can feel being totally sober until New Year's Eve night. That's my goalpost. If I end up feeling absolutely phenomenal by then, I will just keep the streak alive and make this a lifestyle. Maybe my life will be so drastically different by then, I will question why on Earth I ever binge drank in the first place..

I wanted to share as I have always loved seeing the twin photos on here and can now finally contribute with my own two sweet babies! I have been semi-lurking in this community for a while now and really appreciate all the advice and reassurances it has given me.
I originally had a planned C-section on the 21st but they had other plans and my water broke on the 5th. When we went to the hospital they tested the fluid to make sure it was amniotic fluid and then checked my cervix to see how dilated I was. My breech twin had a cord prolapse and so I was rushed in for an emergency C-section. Baby Boy (6lbs) was in the ICU for a few days but Baby Girl (4lbs14oz) was able to come and stay in our room pretty much right away.
We were in the hospital until Thursday afternoon and have been home for a couple days now. I am so excited to begin this journey with my two twins!

Hi all, I bough a CPU i5 12400F, 16gb Kingston Ram and a Gigabyte Motherboard B760M DS3H DDR4 to upgrade my system.
What happens its that many times (every day) the CPU usage is huge - very above normal - even not using heavy programs that justifies that. Many times, I check task manager, and the CPU usage, is very high, when I was just on Windows folders, and browsing - nothing more. It reaches easily 60/70% CPU usage, and sometimes even 80/90/100% with no reason. Different task's, makes the CPU reaches almost the limit - check the pics. Even "Windows explorer" task, sometimes reaches 50-60% CPU usage, I’ve check that many times on Task manager. This happen with no apparent reason, I do not use heavy software. And with the exact same kind of usage, with my last PC which were half powerful and with half ram ( a 9400F with 8Gb Ram) Never had this issues, neither, a so high CPU usage. Since this CPU is double powerful in all aspects, wasn't expectable that the CPU, on the same kind of use, works with less effort and have less CPU usage?! Even the Windows Restart's/Boot, were more quick with my oldest Setup than on this Setup ( and I’ve already activate the Fast Boot on Bios). The only difference were, that my previous motherboard was an MSI ( a very low end H310M PRO-M2 PLUS model), and this actual one its a "new" Gigabyte B760M DS3H DDR4 model. Could the motherboard model/Brand are making all of this underperformance and issues ? At normal use, i can say, that i can't notice any kind of performance improvement with this new Setup ( that is twice powerful) I only do feel a better performance on games, but I’m a casual gamer, and i almost play CS:GO, and less more. The real difference is that with this Cup/mobo, anything I do reaches high CPU and energy usage very easily.
I have Windows Fresh install, no Virus, Adware. Bios Updated to last firmware. No background running programs. Just Windows 10 64bit with the essential's.
Other problem is the High CPU FAN RPM's ( and noise, obviously ). I know that the Stock Fans were not the most quiet, but for many years, i never bought an aftermarket Cooler, since I don't use heavy software, and even gaming I don’t play heavy CPU games, so the stock cooler is more than enough for the needs, and I’ve checked a review/noise test comparison on YouTube, and my Fan doesn't perform near close to that: https://youtu.be/yhKBABCfmpk?t=240 , and note, the CPU and cooler its the same. I wish, my Fan run so smoothly and constant, and specially so quiet like the one on the video.
This video show's a "little" of the random RPM's i am talking about, with windows idle, closed programs, just opening/switching between folder's, but I can say that usually is worst than the video, and phone mic it not capture the best sound, personally the FAN noise is much more aggressive, and usually the RPM'S are worst, (VERY) annoying and uncomfortable, Specially at night : https://streamable.com/523h6e
The CooleFan just ramp up quickly to High RPM's, by no reason and completely randomly, like if i were using the CPU with really heavy programs. Sometimes by just opening a Browser tab or a Folder is enough to listen the Fan ramping up Hard - what its not normal. And the most weird, is that the Fan randomly changes RPM's frequently. By itself, the CPU CooleFan is not quiet, but actually is running very above normal and making a lot of noise - much above the usual. The Fan could be working at 1500RPM'S, but by no reason, changes to 2000/2200RPM'S, sometimes 3000RPM'S - while using Windows - once again; no heavy programs, just windows, folders, and browsing. Fan randomly and constantly changes RPM'S , never stays idle, like the CPU are. At night, is almost impossible, stay with the PC turned ON.
Its not the 1st time, that i have the PC turned on, but I’m not using it. I sit on my bedroom, at some PC distance, and I listen the FAN ramping up Hard... like !?!? I'm not even using the PC lol its on idle, there are no programs running. How the Fan ramp up like if i was using the CPU heavily ? PS: I have my PC Case well good refrigerated ( tbh, due to this problem, and to test, the PC Case is opened - No differences ).
PS: I configured and tested FAN Profiles on Bios, and its on a Silent/Manual smooth Fan curve, even so the result, is what I’ve explained. Since, if I let the default Profile "Normal Fan", the problem is even worst, and the noise its impossible to stay near the PC, it's almost an airplane noise. But even with a very smooth Fan curve, I can hear the fan a LOT . But the Random RPM's ramp up's and down, even with a manual smooth Fan curve remains exactly the same. The Fan constantly changes RPM's (hardly), looks like and F1 car motor on a race lol.
I spend lot of hours testing ( I have some IT experience ), searching, reading, and I cannot find any solution, neither what could be the problem root. To me, should be a faulty motherboard, or CPU, but I make tests to the CPU, and on all of them everything seems ok, so, i think that the problem could be the motherboard. I've contacted Intel and nothing were detected. I've contacted Gigabyte and they just simple ignore the questions, they just told me to take the board to warranty – No troubleshooting, no help, nothing !
The questions is to, trying to know the cause of this issues, since I still have the chance to return mobo and CPU, and change for a better and stable hardware choices. But firstly I need to know and understand which device is causing troubles, if the CPU, if the Board. And my budget it's not very high, so, I would like to replace the part that is causing issues.
Do you consider Gigabyte a good motherboard brand for low/mid end range? It's the 1st time i give a chance to Gigabyte, usually i buy MSI, and honestly i was happy with motherboard's, and with the UEFI BIOS . But honestly i doesn't like the BIOS at all, and with this issues, makes me very sceptical to Gigabyte, at the same time I also feel like this motherboard doesn't have much stability ( i could be wrong). I bought this Gigabyte Mobo due to the price point, and they bring heatsink on (half) VRM and a heatsink to the SSD M.2 Nvme... Maybe i was caught by the Brand marketing. I have a Gigabyte Graphic Card and no issues, runs well. But for low/mid end motherboards, Gigabyte could not be the best option. I'm thinking to return this motherboard since i have 2more days to do it, and buy an MSI again or a Asus. But the last MSI I have was 3years ago, don't know how are they now. My last MSI was an H310M PRO-M2 PLUS, a super entry level motherboard, but always worked Flawlessly with a great performance and stability, and with a very Good UEFI BIOS and configuration options !
Is it from Windows ? Motherboard issues ? the CPU ?
If anyone got ideas, from what can be, I would appreciate. Since I search and tested everything and don't find nothing that tells me the cause.

Hey all, I've really been craving some intense emotional connection with someone else. I just want to talk with someone and talk about what we want out of life, or just simple things like what's going on in our daily lives. Ultimately I'm looking for something long-term, I think I'm ready to find my special someone, even if they live all the way across the world (love always finds a way, right?). I'd love to find someone I can be a homebody with, staying inside watching movies, cuddling, or playing games, but also someone who I can go out with and experience new things like art museums, maybe some hiking trails, cute little towns with unique shops.
Personally, I'm a fairly optimistic person (although I think I still have a realistic foundation if that makes sense?) and I love making people smile and laugh. Not to say that I can't be serious though, because I really crave those late night conversations pondering what it's all about and means, talking about what we're hoping to get out of this life. I'm also a film major, so I'd love to talk about films with you, and if we really connect well maybe we can watch some over Discord sometime! Although it'd be much better in person where we could hold hands and cuddle during, but you gotta make due with what you got, right ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ . Also, I'm very open minded and like to make sure people feel comfortable, so rest assured you don't have to worry about trying to be someone else when you talk with me. I want 100% you, unfiltered (ok, maybe a little filtered in the beginning, let's save the juicy stuff for when we start firing on all cylinders haha). Anyways, I really hope to be hearing from you! i think one of old friends was dead. this is a bit of a rant because i just remember a majority of this.
(i don’t remember much of when i was fairly younger than i currently am (15) so i might be missing some details but i have been piecing together together who i met 5 years ago)
I remember sometime around February of my 5th grade year a girl seemed to appear out of nowhere. i didn’t have class with her but she was in the class right next door. (there were no door separating the 5th grade classes from each other only thin walls). she never really seemed to talk or interact with people and i rarely saw her myself. she was almost never at school and i don't think i ever heard the teacher call her name for attendance. she always sat alone at lunch and the few times she ever sat with other people (usually my friend group) she wouldn’t really talk to any of them. the only time she ever talked to me was when the other people around us were busy with something else or were looking away. i slowly got to know her bit by bit. her name was molly and she had a few brothers. she had brown hair that was always in a perfectly straight bob-cut and she only ever wore 5 shirts, the only one i can really remember was a light purple t-shirt with some white details and a cat on the front. she had a few freckles and her eyes were a pretty brown. she was very shy and wouldn’t really say much other than short sentences. Molly loved walking around the outskirts of the playground at recess but after the whistle blew and we had to go in she never seemed to line up with the rest of us. around the time my birthday was coming up and i was handing out invitations i really wanted to invite her to get to know her more because she seemed like a nice girl. i saw her when we were outside taking a short break from class when i began talking to her about it. i told her it would be a pool party at the rec-center in the next town over because it had a better pool. she told me she would try to make it but only if her dad would let her. she never gave me her dads number so i could give it to my mom yet she told me her dad would call my mom if she could make it. around this time some of my friends were approaching me and she noticed this, she seemed a bit frantic and told me to give her my hand. she pulled the plastic heart ring she was wearing and placed it in my hand saying “if i can’t make it to your party, this is my gift to you” before walking off. (after she gave me that ring i didn’t take it off for the rest of the year. some of my friends would ask me why i was wearing it because it was ugly. i would tell them that molly gave it to me but they would give me weird looks yet they never asked more than that about it.)the next day i didn’t see her but in my classroom mail box she left a little pink bear and a torn up cake squishy with a note reading something along the lines of “happy birthday this is the rest of my gift to you” she never made it to my party nor did my mom ever get a call. after that i didn’t see her again until a few weeks before school ended. our school was having us take tour of the middle schools we chose to go to. before i saw she was sitting alone in a section all the teachers said was empty. i asked her what school she was going to and she simply replied with “garden of the gods.” after that because i wanted to stay in touch with her i asked where she lived so i could visit her sometime. she described the old abandoned house on one of the outter streets of my neighborhood. that no had lived in in years. i told her that i would try and visit sometime that week with my mom to make sure it was the right house. molly nodded then walked off. at the end of that week me and my mom visited the old house, molly wasn’t there, neither was either brother or her dad, no one was in that house because like i said it was abandoned and never sold again after the last people to move in left right after hearing about what happened to the man in that house and how he died. after that interaction with her i never saw her again. not even at the end of the year assembly we were all required to go to for “bonding time” when the teachers were showing pictures of everyone who was in our current 5th grade classes molly was never brought up nor did she make in appearance in the year book as far as i remember. (i would check but i don’t have my yearbook anymore) after that, my mom and friends pestered me more and more about my ring until i eventually stopped wearing it. (i still have it but i repainted it after all the silver paint had came off it) i always told them it was a gift from molly but they had no idea who i was talking about so i stopped bringing her up until a little but ago with my mom. she told me she never remember the girl i was talking about she only remember that i was looking for someone. i told her that that was crazy because she was the one that gave me the ring and stuffy but nothing ever clicked. then we talked more about the house molly told me she lived in and my mom told me the last owners tried to sell it as quick ad possible because of the man who died there, but no one ever moved back it thats why the grass was never cut and it looked like it was starting to fall apart. eventually we started to consider the idea that molly was a ghost, it was just strange that i got a physical gift from her but it wasn’t impossible especially because of other incidents with spirits we had. i still have no idea what happened to molly or how she really was but i really do think she was simply a ghost and thats why no one remember her, i must have been the only one that could see her. i have met plenty of other ghosts but she is the first and only spirit to give me a physical gift. and don’t get me wrong i normally don’t mind meeting ghosts i just wish i knew she was one before i told the people that i did about her.

Hi all, I bough a CPU i5 12400F, 16gb Kingston Ram and a Gigabyte Motherboard B760M DS3H DDR4 to upgrade my system.
What happens its that many times (every day) the CPU usage is huge - very above normal - even not using heavy programs that justifies that. Many times, I check task manager, and the CPU usage, is very high, when I was just on Windows folders, and browsing - nothing more. It reaches easily 60/70% CPU usage, and sometimes even 80/90/100% with no reason. Different task's, makes the CPU reaches almost the limit - check the pics. Even "Windows explorer" task, sometimes reaches 50-60% CPU usage, I’ve check that many times on Task manager. This happen with no apparent reason, I do not use heavy software. And with the exact same kind of usage, with my last PC which were half powerful and with half ram ( a 9400F with 8Gb Ram) Never had this issues, neither, a so high CPU usage. Since this CPU is double powerful in all aspects, wasn't expectable that the CPU, on the same kind of use, works with less effort and have less CPU usage?! Even the Windows Restart's/Boot, were more quick with my oldest Setup than on this Setup ( and I’ve already activate the Fast Boot on Bios). The only difference were, that my previous motherboard was an MSI ( a very low end H310M PRO-M2 PLUS model), and this actual one its a "new" Gigabyte B760M DS3H DDR4 model. Could the motherboard model/Brand are making all of this underperformance and issues ? At normal use, i can say, that i can't notice any kind of performance improvement with this new Setup ( that is twice powerful) I only do feel a better performance on games, but I’m a casual gamer, and i almost play CS:GO, and less more. The real difference is that with this Cup/mobo, anything I do reaches high CPU and energy usage very easily.
I have Windows Fresh install, no Virus, Adware. Bios Updated to last firmware. No background running programs. Just Windows 10 64bit with the essential's.
Other problem is the High CPU FAN RPM's ( and noise, obviously ). I know that the Stock Fans were not the most quiet, but for many years, i never bought an aftermarket Cooler, since I don't use heavy software, and even gaming I don’t play heavy CPU games, so the stock cooler is more than enough for the needs, and I’ve checked a review/noise test comparison on YouTube, and my Fan doesn't perform near close to that: https://youtu.be/yhKBABCfmpk?t=240 , and note, the CPU and cooler its the same. The Fan could be working at 1500RPM'S, but by no reason, changes to 2000/2200RPM'S, sometimes 3000RPM'S - while using Windows - once again; no heavy programs, just windows, folders, and browsing. Fan randomly and constantly changes RPM'S , never stays idle, like the CPU are. At night, is almost impossible, stay with the PC turned ON.
Its not the 1st time, that i have the PC turned on, but I’m not using it. I sit on my bedroom, at some PC distance, and I listen the FAN ramping up Hard... like !?!? I'm not even using the PC lol its on idle, there are no programs running. How the Fan ramp up like if i was using the CPU heavily ? PS: I have my PC Case well good refrigerated ( tbh, due to this problem, and to test, the PC Case is opened - No differences ).
PS: I configured and tested FAN Profiles on Bios, and its on a Silent/Manual smooth Fan curve, even so the result, is what I’ve explained. Since, if I let the default Profile "Normal Fan", the problem is even worst, and the noise its impossible to stay near the PC, it's almost an airplane noise. But even with a very smooth Fan curve, I can hear the fan a LOT . But the Random RPM's ramp up's and down, even with a manual smooth Fan curve remains exactly the same. The Fan constantly changes RPM's (hardly), looks like and F1 car motor on a race lol.
I spend lot of hours testing ( I have some IT experience ), searching, reading, and I cannot find any solution, neither what could be the problem root. To me, should be a faulty motherboard, or CPU, but I make tests to the CPU, and on all of them everything seems ok, so, i think that the problem could be the motherboard. I've contacted Intel and nothing were detected. I've contacted Gigabyte and they just simple ignore the questions, they just told me to take the board to warranty – No troubleshooting, no help, nothing !
The questions is to, trying to know the cause of this issues, since I still have the chance to return mobo and CPU, and change for a better and stable hardware choices. But firstly I need to know and understand which device is causing troubles, if the CPU, if the Board. And my budget it's not very high, so, I would like to replace the part that is causing issues.
Do you consider Gigabyte a good motherboard brand for low/mid end range? It's the 1st time i give a chance to Gigabyte, usually i buy MSI, and honestly i was happy with motherboard's, and with the UEFI BIOS . But honestly i doesn't like the BIOS at all, and with this issues, makes me very sceptical to Gigabyte, at the same time I also feel like this motherboard doesn't have much stability ( i could be wrong). I bought this Gigabyte Mobo due to the price point, and they bring heatsink on (half) VRM and a heatsink to the SSD M.2 Nvme... Maybe i was caught by the Brand marketing. I have a Gigabyte Graphic Card and no issues, runs well. But for low/mid end motherboards, Gigabyte could not be the best option. I'm thinking to return this motherboard since i have 2more days to do it, and buy an MSI again or a Asus. But the last MSI I have was 3years ago, don't know how are they now. My last MSI was an H310M PRO-M2 PLUS, a super entry level motherboard, but always worked Flawlessly with a great performance and stability, and with a very Good UEFI BIOS and configuration options !
Is it from Windows ? Motherboard issues ? the CPU ?
If anyone got ideas, from what can be, I would appreciate. Since I search and tested everything and don't find nothing that tells me the cause.

Husband lying about stupid stuff
My husband and I have been married almost 5 years, together for over 10. He's great; loving, attentive, etc. About a year ago we had a pretty big fight when he lied to me about being at work when he was at the bar. Like not just misleading, flat out lying when I asked about it. We worked through it and I made it super clear that honesty is a hard line for me and I am not going to stay with someone who lies to me. He agreed it was stupid he just wanted to go and was afraid I'd feel like he wanted to spend time with work people more than me. I made it clear I didn't care if he wanted to hang after work and I just needed to know what was going on.
Fast forward to today, and he did it again. Said he had to meet up with his boss and return his rental car from a business trip but he was at a bar and had already returned the rental. I genuinely believe he's just going to the bar with work friends and honestly wouldn't care if he didn't lie about it. Idk what to do, I feel like he's completely broken the trust. I made it clear last time I would not tolerate being lied to. He was literally on the phone with me in the parking lot of the bar pretending he was getting ready to head in to the building to see his boss.
Am I missing something and just over reacting? Is this typical behavior? Should I stick to my guns and leave?

A few months after we started dating, his old friend moved in with him.
A few months later I moved in with my partner after loosing my accommodation. It's a pretty big house so you'd think it wouldn't be an issue.
I was only there for about two weeks. His housemate, long-time friend did not approve of me. I am autistic so I can be fairly closed off and bad at communicating. He did not know this. One day housemate ranted to my partner about how I make him uncomfortable and I can't stay there. My boyfriend didn't care and said it's his house and he'll make it work.
Against my will, I noticed boyfriend started hiding me from him in the house. Housemate came in his room, saw me and raged, yelled at me to leave. Partner tried to calm him but he appeared to (almost) start crying so he got his way and we left. Along with this he called my boyfriend's parents telling them a bunch of bullshit like I was on crack.
I obviously refused to go to his house any time soon. A month later I decided to go back because it's my partner's house and I believe I should have the right to go there and spend time with my boyfriend, he apologized and I thought it was sorted out, I also explained to him I'm autistic so I'm a little more to myself and bad at communicating, he said it's understandable.
After this, he was still pretty rude to me, making smart and rude comments around me, completely ignoring me during conversation, my boyfriend seems oblivious to it. It was destroying my mental health going to his house so I thought it would be good if me and my boyfriend had a break.
After the break, a month after being together again, I finally get the confidence to spend one night at his house, next day he messages my boyfriend raging about me again. Still carrying on about me after 5 months. My boyfriend got mad and told me he will kick him out (again) but I highly doubt it. He apologizes and says it's his mental health and my boyfriend forgives him. This doesn't sort out his grudge against me.
I think It is simple, he is trying to ban me from going to his house, so I will agree and not go. If my boyfriend wants me to stay at his house I won't go until he is out. Sounds rude but his housemate is causing too much drama when I go there.
I feel like he is trying to manipulate him to ban me from there, turn his family against me while still trying to live there with his girlfriend and his friend with me out of their life. Exactly like he said "just like the good old days".
Yes, I am also jealous he can enjoy his relationship to the fullest potential at my boyfriend's house while our relationship is restricted because I can't go there.
I need some advice. I don't want to destroy their friendship, even when my partner says he will kick him out I don't even agree or disagree with him. But it seems his friend is trying to destroy our relationship, and I'm watching it happen.

I’m moving into a new house with 3 other people. Two of them (A & B) have been in the house already for a while, and one of the current people in the house (C) was planning on moving out in July, when our new lease starts.
However, C decided he won’t be leaving until August. This throws a massive wrench into our situation, because myself and my other new roommate (D & E) can’t move in until his things are out. C did not communicate this to any of us besides A — A was the one who told B, E, and me.
Since C will be in the house, taking a room but not paying rent, is there anything we can do? He isn’t a problematic roommate, but this is escalating and it’s becoming tense for A & B. C doesn’t need to stay past July, he just decided he wanted to and didn’t talk to any of us about it.
I don’t want this to be a problem, but we’re all students, and we can’t really be starting the new semester and moving in at the same time. Advice would be appreciated — we are in TN, not sure if that impacts much.

Finally found time time to play around with OpenVPN. My friend and I tried to set it up such that he can connect his pc to my pc (My PC as the host, his as the client). Although the console states that he has connected to me successfully, his public IP seems to stay the same and he cannot ping my computer. Pretty sure I did set this up wrong, but I cannot seem to find where I messed up.
I based my config file based on an example one I found online from the OpenVPN forum. Not showing my IP here for obvious reasons. I know despite calling the sever "LanServer", that it is set to "tun". I also made sure to port forward on my router, and added a rule to my firewall.

Me and my family just recently moved into a new neighborhood. The first month was no problem from neighbors. A month later one afternoon I was sitting in front of my house in my car and all of sudden a woman comes out of nowhere and proceeds to bang on my driver side car window. I rolled my window down a little bit to speak and she then accuses me by saying she saw me hitting my neighbors bricks who lives directly next door to me and driving on their grass. I told her she was mistaken and that I never hit anyones bricks. She then proceeds to blow her cigarette smoke in my car. I then get out of the car and speak to her as I don't want her to continually blow her cigarette smoke in my car. I then asked her where she lives and she tells me she lives at the corner house while still blowing her cigarette smoke in my face. It seemed like she was doing all of this out of pettiness but as we were new to the neighborhood I decided not to start and argument and just politely ended the conversation. She then walks down to the corner house and turns the corner to another street. I thought nothing of it until a week later come to find out she doesn't live at the corner house and that she actually lives directly cross the street from me. I had hardly seen her or crossed paths so when she initially came up to my car I had no idea who this woman was.
Please stay with me because this is where the madness begins.
A week later I was leaving out for work. Now mind you I park my car on the street in front of my house sometimes and as you know you sometimes have to drive in a neighbors driveway when parking on the street to turn around. I did just that but instead of using the neighbors across the street driveway (cigarette lady) I decided to use the neighbor who lives directly next door to her to avoid any problems with cigarette lady since she lied and accused me of something I didn't do. As I was driving in this lady's driveway (who lives next door to cigarette lady) I ENSURED I didn't drive on her grass since again me and my family are new to the street and also since the cigarette lady has already made up a lie about me driving on someone else's grass I didn't want anymore problems. As I drove in her driveway was I went slow and made sure I didn't drive all the way in her driveway only up to the sidewalk.
This lady then runs out her back door and comes up to her gate and yells something at me. I rolled my windows down and asked her what did she say because I didn't hear her. She then says "Don't get on my motherfucking grass". I was in complete shock. Because I made sure I wasn't on her grass and that I drove slow. I then say to her "You don't have to speak to me like that I never met you. You're being very ignorant with me. I'd appreciate it if you not talk to me in that manner" she then says "I don't give a fuck don't drive on my fucking grass, bitch" After this we get into a brief argument and I drive a way.
When I come home she's already waiting on her porch and I was prepared to ignore her as I was still in shock someone could talk to someone like that who've never down anything to them. She then "Hey, I wanted to apologize for earlier." and I then say I do not accept your apology kindly as If Im being honest I was still upset by the names she called me. After I declined her apology she then says "Nevermind bitch". I knew then none of this was going to be good.
I concluded that night that what might have triggered her to lie and say I was on her grass was because the cigarette lady told her I drove my neighbors grass so when I drove in her driveway she already had preconceived notions about me off of what she has heard from cigarette lady.
Ever since then her and the cigarette lady has went to half the neighbors on our street lying to them telling them that I did this, that, and the third as if Im bullying them for no reason. Other neighbors has chosen "their side" because other neighbors would say stuff to me as Im walking my dog or when I wave at them they blatantly don't wave back. Whenever I would water my grass cigarette lady and driveway lady would get on one of their porches and gossip about me.
I just ignore them until a week ago.
Last week I decided to take my dog on a walk around the neighborhood as I normally do. Usually when I walk my dog I try to stay on my side of the street to avoid further confrontation but and sometimes I walk my dog on both sides cigarette lady and driveway lady side of the street as well as my own. And I decided to walk on both sides. As I began to walk my dog, driveway lady then looks out her front door and then rushes out her back door to walk her dog. I then said I will try to talk to her today and try to end the conflict. So I walked my dog to the corner of our street and waited for her to come around the block to speak to her. And I did I spoke to her and also mentioned to her I don't like the things she been doing and that it's ridiculous she has involved all the neighbors. She then said yes "I told everyone, I will keep telling everyone" from there I knew she was insane. So I politely asked her to stop the drama with my family and I and leave us alone and walk away and she agrees and we go our separate ways. Out of nowhere her mother and father pulls up in the middle of the street then jumps out the car and begin to yell at me. Mind you this lady is about 41 years old. I knew this was her parents because she called them mom and dad. I then say a few words back and just go home. I didn't even get to finish walking my dog. I go home lay down and 30 minutes later the police shows up at my door saying that the "driveway" lady parents called and told them I was walking my dog on the wrong side of the street and that I have been harassing her and the neighbors. I then ask him is it a crime to walk by dog on a public side walk although I always make sure my dog doesn't poop on anyones lawn. He says no and then actually agrees that her calling the police on me was ridiculous and that I have every right to walk my dog on either side of the street.
So after that the police gives me an incident report number and I go inside. The police then goes over to driveway lady's front yard and speak to her and her family. So decided to walk my dog again since I didn't get to finish walking him the first time and I thought this was the perfect time since the police was there. I began walking my dog and this time I was going to walk around the corner to a different street. As I passing by the corner house on my street to go around the corner to a different street a man and his wife are on their porch starring at me with anger in their eyes I just looked away and kept walking. Then the woman on the porch goes "Who the fuck are you starring at" I said "I don't know you" and she then jumps off the porch and goes "Im [insert name] who the fuck are you" I tried to keep walking before I know it she's slapping me upside my head. Before I can defender myself the police who was once talking to "driveway" lady then runs up puts me in handcuffs then gives me a ticket for disorderly conduct. They then let me go and gave me my ticket.
I was in tears and in shocked that this was really happening to me. I then told my family about it who lives near and my brother rush over and confronts the lady and her husband. Apparently she claims that I have been bullying "driveway" lady and that I'm a horrible person which is why she attacked me. The police refused to give her ticket for assault as they said "They didn't see anything"
I know this was very long but what do I do. We have a court date set as well. She I hire a good lawyer or do I even have a case. Pertaining to the neighborhood do I contact city council? Where do I go from here?

Hi, I’m (25F) living in a house with other women in Seattle, Washington. I’ve been living there for 2 months and signed a joint lease with all of them. We didn’t sign individual leases— the landlord had us all sign one for the whole house.
I went on vacation to my hometown and a day after I left, they sent me a text giving me a 30 day notice to leave (and I’m on vacation for almost that entire period so I have no time to even tour any place when I get back). I haven’t broken any law or any part of the lease agreement. They just said they don’t like me and want me out. I know this isn’t legal, but I am scared of what they would do to me if I stay. After I moved in, they forced another girl out and if she hadn’t agreed to leave, they were going to file a false restraining order against her just to make her leave because they hated her so much. I can’t risk that happening to me as well, so I know I have to leave. However, because of them I’m going to be incurring all sorts of moving expenses before the lease is even up.
When they kicked out the old roommate, they lied to the landlord and told them she was doing drugs, which she wasn’t. The landlord said that because of the lease structure, they had to force her out themselves because the landlord can only evict all of them.
Do I have any legal backing to sue them for illegally kicking me out? I’m already planning to sue if I don’t get my security deposit back, but I am not sure that I can do anything else about this. I don’t want them to continue to be able to do this to others. I have proof of what they’re doing to me in text messages. I also have proof of what they did to the roommate they kicked out a month ago as well.
Please note, I didn’t know they were like this before I moved in or I wouldn’t have.

So im on exchange now in Japan. I have been here 1 year and im going back home to my home country in about 1 month. When i land in the capital of my home country my father is going to pick me up and we are going to drive back to my prefecture (about 8 hours) but after we have arrived im not sure where to go.
My father and mother are separated,, so i have to make a choice of which one of them to see. They live about 1 hour away from eachother and are both really excited to see me again. Also includes my uncles, grandparents and whoever wants to see me again. That makes things a bit hard. Where do i go first? The place i go is where i will be staying as i dont have a place of my own yet. I am moving in to a new apartment that is very close to my fathers house though, but thats gonna be a little after i come back.
My parents are young, they were 19 when they got me. So i have a close relationship with both of them.
My father is alone, so we have a close relationship with the same hobbies aswell. My Mother is happily married with my Step- Father and has my siblings living with her aswell.
My question really comes down to where to go. Both sides really want to see me but i cant stay 2 places at once. Im also gonna be really tired from about 18 hours of travelling on the airplane. So i want to avoid travelling between my parents houses everyday.

Hi all, I bough a CPU i5 12400F, 16gb Kingston Ram and a Gigabyte Motherboard B760M DS3H DDR4 to upgrade my system.
What happens its that many times (every day) the CPU usage is huge - very above normal - even not using heavy programs that justifies that. Many times, I check task manager, and the CPU usage, is very high, when I was just on Windows folders, and browsing - nothing more. It reaches easily 60/70% CPU usage, and sometimes even 80/90/100% with no reason. Different task's, makes the CPU reaches almost the limit - check the pics. Even "Windows explorer" task, sometimes reaches 50-60% CPU usage, I’ve check that many times on Task manager. This happen with no apparent reason, I do not use heavy software. And with the exact same kind of usage, with my last PC which were half powerful and with half ram ( a 9400F with 8Gb Ram) Never had this issues, neither, a so high CPU usage. Since this CPU is double powerful in all aspects, wasn't expectable that the CPU, on the same kind of use, works with less effort and have less CPU usage?! Even the Windows Restart's/Boot, were more quick with my oldest Setup than on this Setup ( and I’ve already activate the Fast Boot on Bios). The only difference were, that my previous motherboard was an MSI ( a very low end H310M PRO-M2 PLUS model), and this actual one its a "new" Gigabyte B760M DS3H DDR4 model. Could the motherboard model/Brand are making all of this underperformance and issues ? At normal use, i can say, that i can't notice any kind of performance improvement with this new Setup ( that is twice powerful) I only do feel a better performance on games, but I’m a casual gamer, and i almost play CS:GO, and less more. The real difference is that with this Cup/mobo, anything I do reaches high CPU and energy usage very easily.
I have Windows Fresh install, no Virus, Adware. Bios Updated to last firmware. No background running programs. Just Windows 10 64bit with the essential's.
Other problem is the High CPU FAN RPM's ( and noise, obviously ). I know that the Stock Fans were not the most quiet, but for many years, i never bought an aftermarket Cooler, since I don't use heavy software, and even gaming I don’t play heavy CPU games, so the stock cooler is more than enough for the needs, and I’ve checked a review/noise test comparison on YouTube, and my Fan doesn't perform near close to that: https://youtu.be/yhKBABCfmpk?t=240 , and note, the CPU and cooler its the same. I wish, my Fan run so smoothly and constant, and specially so quiet like the one on the video.
This video show's a "little" of the random RPM's i am talking about, with windows idle, closed programs, just opening/switching between folder's, but I can say that usually is worst than the video, and phone mic it not capture the best sound, personally the FAN noise is much more aggressive, and usually the RPM'S are worst, (VERY) annoying and uncomfortable, Specially at night : https://streamable.com/523h6e
The CooleFan just ramp up quickly to High RPM's, by no reason and completely randomly, like if i were using the CPU with really heavy programs. Sometimes by just opening a Browser tab or a Folder is enough to listen the Fan ramping up Hard - what its not normal. And the most weird, is that the Fan randomly changes RPM's frequently. By itself, the CPU CooleFan is not quiet, but actually is running very above normal and making a lot of noise - much above the usual. The Fan could be working at 1500RPM'S, but by no reason, changes to 2000/2200RPM'S, sometimes 3000RPM'S - while using Windows - once again; no heavy programs, just windows, folders, and browsing. Fan randomly and constantly changes RPM'S , never stays idle, like the CPU are. At night, is almost impossible, stay with the PC turned ON.
Its not the 1st time, that i have the PC turned on, but I’m not using it. I sit on my bedroom, at some PC distance, and I listen the FAN ramping up Hard... like !?!? I'm not even using the PC lol its on idle, there are no programs running. How the Fan ramp up like if i was using the CPU heavily ? PS: I have my PC Case well good refrigerated ( tbh, due to this problem, and to test, the PC Case is opened - No differences ).
PS: I configured and tested FAN Profiles on Bios, and its on a Silent/Manual smooth Fan curve, even so the result, is what I’ve explained. Since, if I let the default Profile "Normal Fan", the problem is even worst, and the noise its impossible to stay near the PC, it's almost an airplane noise. But even with a very smooth Fan curve, I can hear the fan a LOT . But the Random RPM's ramp up's and down, even with a manual smooth Fan curve remains exactly the same. The Fan constantly changes RPM's (hardly), looks like and F1 car motor on a race lol.
I spend lot of hours testing ( I have some IT experience ), searching, reading, and I cannot find any solution, neither what could be the problem root. To me, should be a faulty motherboard, or CPU, but I make tests to the CPU, and on all of them everything seems ok, so, i think that the problem could be the motherboard. I've contacted Intel and nothing were detected. I've contacted Gigabyte and they just simple ignore the questions, they just told me to take the board to warranty – No troubleshooting, no help, nothing !
The questions is to, trying to know the cause of this issues, since I still have the chance to return mobo and CPU, and change for a better and stable hardware choices. But firstly I need to know and understand which device is causing troubles, if the CPU, if the Board. And my budget it's not very high, so, I would like to replace the part that is causing issues.
Do you consider Gigabyte a good motherboard brand for low/mid end range? It's the 1st time i give a chance to Gigabyte, usually i buy MSI, and honestly i was happy with motherboard's, and with the UEFI BIOS . But honestly i doesn't like the BIOS at all, and with this issues, makes me very sceptical to Gigabyte, at the same time I also feel like this motherboard doesn't have much stability ( i could be wrong). I bought this Gigabyte Mobo due to the price point, and they bring heatsink on (half) VRM and a heatsink to the SSD M.2 Nvme... Maybe i was caught by the Brand marketing. I have a Gigabyte Graphic Card and no issues, runs well. But for low/mid end motherboards, Gigabyte could not be the best option. I'm thinking to return this motherboard since i have 2more days to do it, and buy an MSI again or a Asus. But the last MSI I have was 3years ago, don't know how are they now. My last MSI was an H310M PRO-M2 PLUS, a super entry level motherboard, but always worked Flawlessly with a great performance and stability, and with a very Good UEFI BIOS and configuration options !
Is it from Windows ? Motherboard issues ? the CPU ?
If anyone got ideas, from what can be, I would appreciate. Since I search and tested everything and don't find nothing that tells me the cause.

Me and my boyfriend are both on our mid 20s, we've been dating for almost 3 years, we both met through some mutual friends and it was practically love at first sight for both of us. We were friends for about 1 year and after a while we ended up deciding to date, the problem is that my boyfriend would have to move to another continent, that for both of us was never a problem, we always adapted to the distance and we talked absolutely every day. We never had fights or anything like that, we were always extremely communicative, there was only once that we asked for some time for some reasons like psychological problems on my part (borderline) but our agreement was not to be with anyone else, it was genuinely just a while away make another. In the meantime I realized that I was extremely emotionally dependent on him, because I had panic attacks, overthinking a lot and I completely stopped eating and sleeping for 2 weeks, in the meantime I was completely unstable and went to therapy, it helped me a lot to open my eyes and try to become a more independent person. My boyfriend and I share our social media passwords, we don't poke around in each other's stuff, we just have the password and I never have to worry about anything on his social media.
He came to visit me between Christmas and New Years, I was obviously excited, I had planned some dates and couple things for us to do and of course also wanted to let him stay with his friends who also live here. On one of the days when he was going to go out with his friends (I didn't go because I wanted to stay at home and play for a while) he didn't have any internet because he hadn't bought my country's simcard, so I came up with the idea of switch the phones so he can talk to his parents and talk to me, he hesitated a bit but accepted. He went out with his friends and so far so good, but when I was left alone I started to have a gut feeling, an indescribable anguish, it wasn't right on my part but I started snooping around to see if I found something or it was a baseless feeling, I entered all the social networks and found nothing, but then I entered the blocked discord and saw 2 blocked girls, at that moment I had the feeling 10 times worse. When I opened the first conversation, I saw conversations like "I love you", "I miss you" and even explicit photos and videos, and I couldn't stop watching and reading and silently crying, this all started 10 days after my birthday in august and had only stopped in november, in the second conversation with the girl he was playing with an adult content seller and she had even sent her the +18 twitter link, i got so irritated, that i started taking screenshots and I sent him a message and the screenshots, and then the following conversation happened:

The moment he arrived I didn't even cry anymore, I was just in limbo, I was tired and I just wanted to end it all, he came close to me and started swearing that he had never cheated on me and that it wasn't him who sent these things, he cried a lot and didn't leave my foot while I asked him to leave and that it was all over, he sometimes grabbed my arm, but he grabbed so hard that hurts. He would follow me to the bathroom and wouldn't let me be alone, I was extremely overwhelmed, after about 2h of this I just gave in to him and let him keep saying "I believed in him", I didn't, I was just too tired to continue with it all. He went to sleep and I couldn't, while he was sleeping I kept thinking of what to do, but my mind was so confused and so full, I started to get extremely unstable again, I stopped eating and sleeping properly, I never really believed him until he starts showing me some evidence that he really wasn't him. He did knew that I didn't trust him fully, it was obvious. it's been about 7 months since this happened and I'm never myself again, I can't stop resenting my boyfriend even though he proves he wasn't him, I I've been to therapy, I've talked to him but nothing seems to work, I definitely love him but this is all just frustrating, all those memories live in my head and now I'm extremely insecure, I try not to show it but every time he has something interaction with any woman I get bitten. I don't know what else to do, I don't want to break up with him because he's a great boyfriend and I clearly see myself marrying him, but I don't know if I could go on with this feeling that lingers in my chest. That most people believe that sexism is more common towards women than men, but not sooo much more common. Maybe 70/30 or 60/40. And that most people believe that sexism towards men is not just a thing as backlash because of sexism towards women
That most people believe that sexism is not about hating women, it was about men exerting physical strength to get roles of power through history. But that women were not seen as inferior, lesser, nor incapable. That traditional roles were seen as different, but equal. So women raised families and had an important role doing that. While men worked. And women weren't seen to be catering to men, serving men, owned and controlled by men, nor defined by their relationships to men. Because men were expected to marry and serve their wife and kids by working too. And some men may have wanted to spend more time with their kids
That most don't believe that men objectify women while women don't objectify men. Nor that women respect men more and treat men better. Nor that women/girls want friendships with men/boys and gay BFFs, while men want sex from women and no friendships
That most don't believe that women nor girls are attracted to men/appreciate men and boys in a more well rounded way than men and boys are attracted to/appreciate women and girls, nor that "men only want one thing", nor that if you took sex away, men would prefer men in all other ways and see them as superior
That most don't believe that women in Muslim countries or women through history like men more than the men like women nor treat them better and respect them more. And also that women don't have to accept more about men than men do about women
That most think violence towards women is not about hating women but about power, control, testosterone, and women being easier targets due to being physically weaker. And that the same men who commit d omestic violence would also be the types to start pub fights with other men, or to target kids
That most people don't think that women nor girls hate each other, compete, get jealous, form cliques and put each other down, while men have stronger bonds, friendships and camaraderie. They instead think that women mostly support each other
That most people don't think that men who do female jobs, hobbies and roles are held to lower standards, supported, praised and celebrated for the bare minimum, for the novelty of being men. While women who do male jobs/roles are held to higher standards and have to prove themselves/are not supported and praised as easily. Also that most people don't think that all workplaces like the police are a big boy's club and they also think there are places where it's a girl's clubs too
Also that most don't think that women are held to higher behavioural and physical standards/expectations than men nor judged harsher for being flawed or unlikeable, etc. Nor that female celebs and characters are trolled/threatened, bullied and hated more online than male ones are
That most people don't think that men prefer and need father figures, male role models and male idols and lead characters, while women can appreciate either gender in all of those things
And that most don't think that women support, praise and celebrate gay men/the men of LGBT more than they do lesbians/the women of LGBT and more than men support, praise and celebrate lesbians. And that most don't think boomer humour and comedy is about men hating their wives while their wives don't hate them nor do most think that teen girls are boy crazy, write in diaries about boys and love boybands...while teen boys don't have the equivalents

Why does the online world say differently? And also how do women and f eminists accept this and stay attracted to men while/despite believing that women like men more and in a more well rounded way and that take sex away and there's not much left keeping men interested in women? That's the biggest turn off to me, reading online put me off men for life. I mean why would you be okay with unrequited love or imbalanced love from one gender to another? Being okay with finding the needle in the haystack is pathetic. People online made me reclusive/avoid people and not wanting to associate with people ever again. I won't accept being surrounded by a society where most believe and accept it.

I, (15 ftm) and my best friend (also 15 ftm) are very close friends. im at his place or at least are near each other almost every weekend. our friendship started near the second wave of covid in 2021, i was hesitant whenever his brother (12 m) was with us. i’ll call my friend mickey and his brother felix for confidentiality reasons.
the first time i felt uncomfy around felix is when i was at their place, was when he had a meltdown. i believe its important to state that felix is autistic, and extremely traumatized. a lot of the time i was there, felix would have a meltdown.
the first time i felt unsafe being around him is what me and mickey call the machete incident. in short, the police were called, and mickey stayed with me for a few days.
the meltdowns got worse from there, and it actually ended our friendship for the summer or 2022. we reignited our friendship once school started again, and the meltdowns did not stop. felix is a weird kid. very shameless and prone to manipulating and gaslighting mickey and I, he is obsessed with being near me i believe, and while he does want to be included because ‘nobody wants to be friends with the autistic kid’ (which isnt true.) he’ll have a meltdown if he cant be with us. the only way we can get away from him is to watch 13+ movies, or horror.
i understand i sound like the asshole here, but please understand that the kid alone has cost me a lot of trauma im in therapy for. im being vague, but my point stands.
