 | It could be because it's April Fools day but I got a summary of benefits letter in the mail saying that I was now 100% P&T (I was just 100% no P&T before). I couldn't believe it so I checked the website and my benefits letter also now says that I am P&T. Is this an error on their side? I'm 70% P&T without my mental health rating, and 100% not P&T with it. Is it actually possible that my mental health rating was updated to P&T without me doing anything? Common App - chose an extremely unique challenge, tied it to my main EC as well. everyone who read it loved it, including counselor, friends, seniors, college students, etc.
UChicago - wrote some of my best essays here. Quirky essay revolved around a previous prompt that i edited a bit, and managed to connect a v niche thing to my ancestral heritage and culture. Why UChicago was also filled with unique experiences cuz of my sister.
Wharton - amazing essays according to all who read them, included a lot of specific stuff and stories as well.
Essays for the rest were also decent I’d say, not something that’d make me an auto admit definitely, but pretty good i guess.
Decisions:
Acceptances:
#1 - It didn't all work out the way I'd have wanted. NYU Stern is fucking great, I def know that, but can't help but feel a bit saddened by all the rejections, especially Wharton, given the amount of Wharton-specific stuff on my profile, as well as the LORs from Wharton-affiliated people, and the fact that my best essays were for them.
#2 - Another thing that could've affected me was that there were also some issues with my school since there was some drama regarding an applicant faking their resume, and that resulted in the school getting only 2 ivy acceptances in RD, while we have historically gotten more than 10 every year. We also got no acceptances from Duke, Stanford, or UChicago, despite historically getting at least 3-4, and having really great applicants this year.
#3 - Nevertheless, for all you internationals out there - there's a lot of luck involved in this process, especially if you're an applicant from an extremely competitive country like India or China. So definitely ensure that you've got good backups somewhere. I went all out for the USA, applying only to super-reaches because I knew that I had a good backup in India in case nothing worked out.
Keep looking out for opportunities for all types of extracurriculars, since they're a really important part of your application, and definitely ensure that your essays don't look refined or artificial, they should be something that makes the AO feel a personal connection with you.

24(m) recently just had my birthday—celebrated it in jury duty. (Life is silly) These past few years have been horrible. In 2019 I started a reselling side-hustle to keep up with tuition payments, purchasing Nikes and Yeezys with credit cards and reselling them for profit. It was hard for me to work a physical labor job because I injured my back in 2018 and herniated a disc that still affects me today. Reselling was good money that covered tuition until it didn’t which was in 2021 during Covid when sales slowly declined because everyone was getting into reselling and it became harder and more expensive to maintain the business. I switched over to NFTs and enjoyed doing that because it was art and new tech that interested me. I told myself that if I wasn’t accepted into an internship in my degree field that summer then I would go heavy into NFTs and if that didn’t go well I would do unspeakable things because I recorded an unspeakable voice memo that same year. Of course I failed all my internship interviews and full risked-on NFTs, I had debt from tuition and nothing to lose so I threw myself into it. Fast forward to peak bull market my portfolio of NFTs is worth 400k, did I sell? No. Big mistake, after May 2022 everything started declining and I held thinking everything would go back up again but I didn’t understand the severity of the economy and after paying off debts and tuition (60k) my portfolio is now worth 50k. I graduated with a bachelors degree almost 2 years ago and am currently paying for a masters but that’s only because I’m still unemployed and can’t find a job and hang on to this invisible hope that I’ll actually find a job in my field which I probably won’t because I don’t have any internship experience and that’s my fault because I focused too much on maintaining a business to do anything. Recently my gf of 7 years also left me and I don’t blame her because I’ve been an utter failure for the longest. To put matters even worst I recently tried to file my taxes and talked with an accountant who literally laughed in my face because a transaction on NFTs is a taxable event even though it’s not converted into US dollars so now I have to pay 40k in taxes that I don’t even have. I’m still in NFTs because that’s the only field that’s accepted my work and given me a chance. But I realized I’ve lost all my confidence and it’ll feels like it’ll take years to bring it back. Life just hasn’t been going my way and I don’t think it ever will but I know that mindset will keep me at the bottom. I understand it’s my fault you don’t have to remind me that I’ve lived the wrong way, my accountant already did that for me, my friends who laugh at crypto did that for me, I’ve been the butt of the joke for years. And now it’s just affected me mentally where I’d have hours of doom and gloom and hours of believing I’ll be okay and that everything is okay, I just have strange outbursts like I have now right now and I just wanted to get this off my chest because its almost 4am and I wouldn’t be able to sleep if I kept this inside.

I really struggled to get into it but was fully sobbing by the end. I have less to say about The Empire of Gold - it's the strongest book in the trilogy and finally succeeded in getting me to like one of the leads, who I'd been lukewarm on for two books. The Islamic-centric setting is still the strongest selling point, but I like that it didn't shy away from the messier implications of its plot for a nicely tied up ending. Set in Space: Babel-17 by Samuel R. Delany This was the last addition to the card, muscling out The Vela (again!) and Dead Silence in February. I'm making a concentrated effort to read more classic sci-fi this year and I'm glad I started with some new wave because this is a delight. A deep dive into language and understanding the unfamiliar, and a reminder of how much contemporary sci-fi writers owe to the past. Standalone: The Changeling by Victor Lavalle This category may have been "Best Book You Can't Fit Elsewhere," since I read mostly standalones. The Changeling is a fairy tale in every sense of the word - built around simple, straightforward actions, a cautionary tale, more than a little messed up. Anti-Hero: Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo Look. I didn't want to read this book. It's too obvious a HM pick. I read Shadow and Bone last year and hated it. But we were halfway through February and my only other option, These Violent Delights, had almost completely faded from my memory, so I bit the bullet. And you know what? Y'all are right. It's good. You win this time, Leigh. Book Club OR Readalong Book: Bluebird by Ciel Pierlot I was cursed by a witch to never have my library's holds become available at a convenient time so HM for this square is a struggle. Out of the months I could jump in, Bluebird was the clear winner. It's just a really fun read with just enough emotional heft behind it to keep it from feeling frivolous. Plus I can tell Pierlot likes a lot of the same sci-fi as me. Cool Weapon: Spear by Nicola Griffith I'm a simple reader. I hear Arthurian legends, I grab a book. I'm usually over woman-crossdresses-to-fight plots, but I was drawn in here by the deeper exploration of gender and the dreamlike prose. It's a very hazy read, like a story passed down through the mist. Revolutions and Rebellions: Nona the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir I could go on about the many reasons I picked Nona over Babel, another book I quite liked that dove harder into the ideology of rebellion. I could say I preferred Nona's ground eye view of life in wartime, or her childlike attempts to piece together a struggle both far bigger and smaller than herself. I could talk about the meticulously crafted mysteries. But the truth is, I just love this book, I love this series, and I will follow Tamsyn Muir to the ends of the earth. Alecto the Ninth when. Name in the Title: Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clarke Jonathan took this spot over Piranesi, a book I enjoyed much more, solely because there's two names for the price of one. It's not that I didn't like reading Jonathan - I very much did. I just like having read it more than I liked actually reading it. Piranesi, on the other hand, is the kind of poetic ontological mystery I live for. Author Uses Initials: The Liar's Knot by M. A. Carrick This series is going to be another popular one for this card, I think. I read both The Mask of Mirrors and The Liar's Knot this year, and thought the characterization in book two was much stronger than the (already enjoyable) first. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series now that the top-notch worldbuilding is fully established. Published in 2022: Leech by Hiron Ennis There are a few books I could’ve used here, but Leech was so good I needed to include it somewhere and it’s not technically HM for Non-Human Protagonist. But damn, did I love this book. Gothic mystery with really clever things being done in the narration - like an unreliable narrator that’s unreliable even to itself. I can’t wait to see what else Ennis writes. Urban Fantasy: Small Miracles by Olivia Atwater Another popular one! I read a lot of urban-adjacent fantasy this year, but Small Miracles focuses on the struggles of surviving everyday century life in such a charming way it was hard to pick anything else. I almost went with Legends & Lattes for the same reason until I realized I was forgetting the “19th-21st century” part of the square. Might’ve submitted it with it there and lost the edit link, oops. I'm the one the mods warned you about. Learn from my mistake. Set in Africa: Noor by Nnedi Okorafor This is Okorafor’s card to lose. I binged the Binti trilogy earlier this year and was a little disappointed at the way it didn’t seem to come together. I much preferred Noor, with its solarpunk locations, themes of tradition v. technological progress, and life on the edges of a capitalist hellscape. Non-Human Protagonist: The Raven Tower by Ann Leckie It took me ages to get through Ancillary Justice and I had it filed as books I recognized as good without clicking with, so I almost didn’t read this, but I’m so glad I did. Another sort-of-mystery where the narrator knows more than the reader, using clever tricks with the writing to pull it off on a meta level. Add in a Shakespeare retelling and a metaphysical debate about the nature of divinity and you’re checking all my favourite boxes. Easily a new all-time fave. Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey: Middlegame by Seanan McGuire This was me giving McGuire another chance after I bounced off Wayward Children. Middlegame was one of the first books I read this year, and nothing came to surpass it for this category. I had hopes for The Midnight Library, a book about things I should have loved, until it turned out I absolutely hated it. I loved Middlegame’s sense of scale, of depth in the universe, and the metaphysical mystery eschews metaphysical answers in favour of the very physical relationships. Five Short Stories: New Suns, ed. Nisi Shawl Anthologies are tough collections to review but New Suns had mostly hits and few misses, and I pulled out about half a dozen new authors to check out. I needed something with more variety than my first pick, Silk & Steel, which I found monotonous. There’s only so many short romances I can get through before I check out in favour of something longer. Features Mental Health: Son of a Trickster by Eden Robinson I waffled a bit on this one since the first book in the trilogy falls more into magic realism than pure fantasy, but A Prayer for the Crown-Shy fell flat for me so if Penguin Random House tags it fantasy that’s good enough for me. I loved the way the dry, straightforward prose speaks to the survival methods of the characters, and the unflinching but emotionally honest portrayal of addiction. Self Published OR Indie Publisher: Zeroth Law by Guerric Haché This square was down to Zeroth Law or The Midnight Bargain by C.L. Polk, and Haché won me over with the Pacific Northwest. Vancouver Island is long overdue for a proper space elevator. Award Finalist, but Not Won: Paladin’s Strength by T. Kingfisher This was the hardest square for me for one simple reason: I am very lazy, and looking up the award situation for every book I read is a lot of effort. Paladin’s Strength stands here representing the whole Saint of Steel series, all of which I read and thoroughly enjoyed. Kingfisher really understands the essence of paladins as people who are both extremely hot and extremely annoying. BIPOC Author: Black Sun by Rebecca Roanhorse The scale of the world and the sense of dread that builds over the course of the book are killer. Black Sun was my favourite book by an Indigenous author this year including, unfortunately, Fevered Star. There’ve been two books of set-up so far and I hope the next book finally delivers. Honourable mention to Elatsoe by Darcie Little Badger, which is thoroughly charming and would’ve made the card if it was less of a suburban fantasy. Shapeshifters: Comeuppance Served Cold by Marion Deeds I don’t have much to say about this one, other than it’s a delight and I used my other shapeshifter books elsewhere. The only one left was The Bird King, which felt laborious where Comeuppance Served Cold was light, breezy, and thrilling enough to knock out in one night. No Ifs, Ands, or Buts: Hell Followed With Us by Andrew Joseph White I accidentally narrowed this square down to “Books About Trans Survival And Found Fantasy With Long Titles” when it came down to this YA tale of body horror and righteous anger, or to Light From Uncommon Stars’s examination of womanhood. The latter was ambitious but didn’t come together, the former was straightforward but managed to pull it off, and I’ve been more and more appreciative of some good ol’ rage these days. Family Matters: Black Water Sister by Zen Cho Loved it. First book I read last April, parked itself in this square and refused to budge even when I *really* needed a HM Ifs, Ands, or Buts. It’s hard to get more family-centric than your grandmother coming back from the dead to scold you for not respecting your parents. It’s dark and resonant and somehow manages to not feel too heavy. And there we have it! As of the time of typing, there are 3 minutes left in March and I just got a notification that my hold on Assassin’s Apprentice is released.  | For this years' bingo card, I decided to challenge myself and complete a card that simultaneously satisfies the 2022 card and the 2017 card. I chose 2017 because 2018 was the first year I attempted bingo, so I had never interacted with that card before. This challenge ended up being exhausting and probably not worth the effort, but I'm proud of myself for seeing it through and it definitely pushed me outside of my comfort zone. It took a mix of scouring bingo threads, googling, writing code to search through a goodreads database, and getting aid from the daily recommendation thread to complete this card (thanks to u/SmallFruitbat x2, u/KcirderfSdrawkcab, u/GarrickWinter for recommending some of these books!!). J. Bishop Hardest Squares to Complete: Self-Published/New Weird, 2+Authors/Time Travel, Under-read List/Revolutions, Nonfiction/Standalone (I ended up submitting a different book on the form for piece of mind since there was no way of doing this square with 100% confidence. However, the nonfiction book above incorporates a lot of science fiction elements and was a great read). Favorite Square: Mental Health/Dragons--I can't explain why but I love this combo Most Unique: The Vagrant by Peter Newman--the main character never speaks and the author never narrates his thoughts. I ended up getting a little sick of the style after a while so I only rated it 3/5 stars, but it was still a cool experience to read this book and I'd recommend it to others without hesitation. If anyone has any questions about any of the books on my card, I'd be happy to answer them! |

Stanford (8/10): My interviewer was pretty nice and I think he really liked my answer to this one question about something ive improved on. He also asked me about my favorite class and my favorite book. It felt pretty comversational. Just at the end he asked if i had any questions and i asked two but we still ended a little early and i couldnt think of anything else to ask.
Essays
I thought my writing was pretty mid but i might have underestimated myself. I was never good at writing pretty but i think my ideas were pretty good and my short answers went well. My best essays were the engineering challenges essay for USC and the life perspectives essay for Rice.
For my personal statement i wrote about how i got engaged in the my little pony community making photo edits and art stuff and what i learned from the experience. This happened during covid lockdown and it rlly helped me cope but i didnt stress the covid part in my essay. I thought this was a dumb topic the entire time i wrote this essay but my life is pretty boring and i couldn’t find anything else to write about.

Physics teacher (10/10): taught me 11th and 12th, used to be a robotics supervisor but quit after a semester, me and some other seniors hang out in his classroom during 6th period cause we have a free period so he knows me pretty well
Calculus teacher (7/10): taught me 11th, i was a good student but i was like really quiet and not notable, he did ask for some info like my counselor did for his recommendation
Interviews
Stanford (8/10): My interviewer was pretty nice and I think he really liked my answer to this one question about something ive improved on. He also asked me about my favorite class and my favorite book. It felt pretty comversational. Just at the end he asked if i had any questions and i asked two but we still ended a little early and i couldnt think of anything else to ask.
Essays
I thought my writing was pretty mid but i might have underestimated myself. I was never good at writing pretty but i think my ideas were pretty good and my short answers went well. My best essays were the engineering challenges essay for USC and the life perspectives essay for Rice.
For my personal statement i wrote about how i got engaged in the my little pony community making photo edits and art stuff and what i learned from the experience. This happened during covid lockdown and it rlly helped me cope but i didnt stress the covid part in my essay. I thought this was a dumb topic the entire time i wrote this essay but my life is pretty boring and i couldn’t find anything else to write about.

2023.04.01 06:26 butterenergy Summary of lore from end of WW4 to 2150
Greetings everyone! I've recently released the 2100-2150 lore, but I'll also try to summarize all the good bits here in case you don't want to read all that. I'll also summarize the stuff from WW4 onwards, since that may not be perfectly well understood as well as the stuff from 2022 to 2068.
Here we go!
- After the devastating fallout of nuclear winter and great floods, the world huddles together and waits for the cold to clear up. Many more continue to die between famine, floods, and general devastation as many areas have fallen into anarchy.
- The Global Defense Coalition is set up as basically a slightly better United Nations, which has its own army, as well as the fact that most countries are now democracies help the GDC function better. Though currently it’s just a diplomatic forum.
- The Absurdist Era runs from roughly 2068 to 2080. It’s also known as the 2nd Progressive Era, where decades of repression lead to a few bright decades of reform. Politicians during this time include Alisha Crowder, who undid most of the religious nonsense of Cortez, though not all of it. She is the leader America needed, properly reconstructing democratic institutions after the Jackson administration had to cannibalize many of them to win the war without bureaucracy slowing things down. He was only half-done reconstructing everything before his term ran out, and elections came back. The USA could have legitimately fallen to autocracy when the next leader took power with only half restored checks and balances. But Crowder was the one who restored it, and she got the US back and running on democratic values. Later on she would be disillusioned with the United States, became an anarchist, and would be the only ex president to assassinate another ex president (Julia Land). This either is a sour ending for what was otherwise a great leader, or something that makes her even more unfathomably based.
- Many movements, such as Postsocialism (Neo-socialism), Postcapitalism (Hypercapitalism beyond corporations), and the Solarpunk movement would come out of the experimental vacuum that was the Absurdist Era.
- The “Progressive Three” are a group of countries that are well… Progressive when it comes to social change and “the new thing”. These are Dravidia Nadu, inventor of psychic autotranslators and a hotspot of linguistic diversity, the Argentine Confederation, center of the new Progressive Catholic Church that schismed from Rome, and the Union of South Africa, who have managed to make many races and cultures intermingle while aggressively addressing systemic oppression.
- In 2080, the Absurdist Era stopped due to expanding lifespans and healthspans of humanity, with the expanding lifespans greatly tipping the balance of power towards older generations, leading to a halt of progressive reforms, as reform stagnated.
- That said, it was still a time of great space colonization. Humanity’s energy primarily went towards space colonization and reconstructing the Earth. President Snowden (2084-2192) is basically Sundowner from Metal Gear Rising Revengence, singlehandedly destabilizing the entire world with PMCs and copious amounts of guns. He does however also fund space colonization and start the mass colonization of Mars.
- Bernie Sanders is elected in 2092, literally the only thing he does is pass free healthcare before collapsing on the Resolute Desk. Reed, his vice president would take office afterwards, and stop President Snowden’s PMC adventures. The reforms may have stagnated, but they haven’t stopped.
- The Century Message is a message received by Earth in the year 2100, telling humanity that they are loved. The intent and specifics behind the message remain a mystery, though it seems to come from the star of Vega.
- The Global Defense Coalition is empowered to be the face of Earth when it comes to aliens, and is given a lot more power to have its own spacefleet and be a force in its own right. This was done after fear of alien life was confirmed.
- The Noosphere is discovered in the same year. For now it’s an unknown other dimension, but it is later discovered it’s the realm of human thoughts, consciousness, and souls. It is almost like a cloud where the collective consciousness of mankind is stored, and where past information can be accessed. The Noosphere is the source of psychic powers, though for now it only allows people to read memories from written records.
- The Fatalist Twilight Wars is triggered when East Germany tries to reunite with West Fatalist Germany, which results in a war between FATES, the European Intermarium, Nigeria and Russia. The war sees the reunification of Russia, the reunification of Germany (including both Austria and the Rhineland), and France giving reparations to Africa. The European Intermarium is renamed to the European Commonwealth, as the banner of democracy flies over Europe once more.
- FATES escapes to the Metaverse, but it goes wrong, and his consciousness is shattered. A great hunt begins for his remaining pieces.
- In 2117, the Immortal Era begins, with aging being eradicated by Nigerian scientists. This change is quickly pushed on the entire population, and now those now living may never die. This starts a great decline in religion, with Irreligious people now making up 30% of the population, mostly in the Old World, with the Islamic countries and the New World remaining more religious.
- Healthcare spending drops immensely, and social security is abolished. Countries use the extra revenue to colonize space, build up their military, or fund generous social welfare programs.
- Uplifts are created where animals such as dogs and cats are given implants to reach around human-intelligence. They’re somewhere on the level of stupid humans but can now understand human language. These uplifts would eventually be integrated into society on a small scale, but much like disabled people the infrastructure was not designed for them, and they require special care. The uplifting of cattle creates a hypergenocidal race hellbent on destroying humanity for the sins of factory farming.
- 2120 to 2138 is the Golden Age of Mankind, and the peak of democracy on Earth. Nearly every grand power was a democracy, and nearly every human lived under a nation with liberal democratic values. The benefits of immortality led to a massive surge in productivity, which Earth channeled into colonizing the stars. - After the devastating fallout of nuclear winter and great floods, the world huddles together and waits for the cold to clear up. Many more continue to die between famine, floods, and general devastation as many areas have fallen into anarchy.
- The Global Defense Coalition is set up as basically a slightly better United Nations, which has its own army, as well as the fact that most countries are now democracies help the GDC function better. Though currently it’s just a diplomatic forum.
- The Absurdist Era runs from roughly 2068 to 2080. It’s also known as the 2nd Progressive Era, where decades of repression lead to a few bright decades of reform. Politicians during this time include Alisha Crowder, who undid most of the religious nonsense of Cortez, though not all of it. She is the leader America needed, properly reconstructing democratic institutions after the Jackson administration had to cannibalize many of them to win the war without bureaucracy slowing things down. He was only half-done reconstructing everything before his term ran out, and elections came back. The USA could have legitimately fallen to autocracy when the next leader took power with only half restored checks and balances. But Crowder was the one who restored it, and she got the US back and running on democratic values. Later on she would be disillusioned with the United States, became an anarchist, and would be the only ex president to assassinate another ex president (Julia Land). This either is a sour ending for what was otherwise a great leader, or something that makes her even more unfathomably based.
- Many movements, such as Postsocialism (Neo-socialism), Postcapitalism (Hypercapitalism beyond corporations), and the Solarpunk movement would come out of the experimental vacuum that was the Absurdist Era.
- The “Progressive Three” are a group of countries that are well… Progressive when it comes to social change and “the new thing”. These are Dravidia Nadu, inventor of psychic autotranslators and a hotspot of linguistic diversity, the Argentine Confederation, center of the new Progressive Catholic Church that schismed from Rome, and the Union of South Africa, who have managed to make many races and cultures intermingle while aggressively addressing systemic oppression.
- In 2080, the Absurdist Era stopped due to expanding lifespans and healthspans of humanity, with the expanding lifespans greatly tipping the balance of power towards older generations, leading to a halt of progressive reforms, as reform stagnated.
- That said, it was still a time of great space colonization. Humanity’s energy primarily went towards space colonization and reconstructing the Earth. President Snowden (2084-2192) is basically Sundowner from Metal Gear Rising Revengence, singlehandedly destabilizing the entire world with PMCs and copious amounts of guns. He does however also fund space colonization and start the mass colonization of Mars.
- Bernie Sanders is elected in 2092, literally the only thing he does is pass free healthcare before collapsing on the Resolute Desk. Reed, his vice president would take office afterwards, and stop President Snowden’s PMC adventures. The reforms may have stagnated, but they haven’t stopped.
- The Century Message is a message received by Earth in the year 2100, telling humanity that they are loved. The intent and specifics behind the message remain a mystery, though it seems to come from the star of Vega.
- The Global Defense Coalition is empowered to be the face of Earth when it comes to aliens, and is given a lot more power to have its own spacefleet and be a force in its own right. This was done after fear of alien life was confirmed.
- The Noosphere is discovered in the same year. For now it’s an unknown other dimension, but it is later discovered it’s the realm of human thoughts, consciousness, and souls. It is almost like a cloud where the collective consciousness of mankind is stored, and where past information can be accessed. The Noosphere is the source of psychic powers, though for now it only allows people to read memories from written records.
- The Fatalist Twilight Wars is triggered when East Germany tries to reunite with West Fatalist Germany, which results in a war between FATES, the European Intermarium, Nigeria and Russia. The war sees the reunification of Russia, the reunification of Germany (including both Austria and the Rhineland), and France giving reparations to Africa. The European Intermarium is renamed to the European Commonwealth, as the banner of democracy flies over Europe once more.
- FATES escapes to the Metaverse, but it goes wrong, and his consciousness is shattered. A great hunt begins for his remaining pieces.
- In 2117, the Immortal Era begins, with aging being eradicated by Nigerian scientists. This change is quickly pushed on the entire population, and now those now living may never die. This starts a great decline in religion, with Irreligious people now making up 30% of the population, mostly in the Old World, with the Islamic countries and the New World remaining more religious.
- Healthcare spending drops immensely, and social security is abolished. Countries use the extra revenue to colonize space, build up their military, or fund generous social welfare programs.
- Uplifts are created where animals such as dogs and cats are given implants to reach around human-intelligence. They’re somewhere on the level of stupid humans but can now understand human language. These uplifts would eventually be integrated into society on a small scale, but much like disabled people the infrastructure was not designed for them, and they require special care. The uplifting of cattle creates a hypergenocidal race hellbent on destroying humanity for the sins of factory farming.

 | Hey, just trying to understand what's going on here, I'd appreciate any help. I'm a junior, going to be a senior in the fall. I've been getting loans but no other financial aid for the last 2 years. I submitted my FAFSA for 2023-2024 back in October of last year, 2022. But I just went into my csulb student center thing and clicked "view financial aid" for 2023-2024 and it says "You have no financial aid awards available for viewing in this aid year". So my question is, is that normal and there will be loans available to accept soon? Or did I get no loan offers for next school year? I attached some pics if that helps.
