2023.06.08 20:23 spitfiremac 3rd-party pocket veto on disability claim ?

Hey all.
I filed a disability claim for the first time this year, 10 years after my ETS.
I was scheduled for audiology, psychological, and physical evals... and apparently, someone thought to fast-track me on the terminal list because the local VA office had told me a year and a half prior that I might have emphysema or pulmonary fibrosis due to scar tissue from active tuberculosis I received on a prior deployment to AE. At that time the VA told me I might have a drastically shortened life expectancy, something like 2.5-3 years if it was P.F., but at the end of a 6-month series of evals concluding in a CAT scan, I was cleared. (Sucked because I was finishing grad school at the time, so a little hard to focus.)
Back to the VA claim... I was scheduled for the three evals through VES. They sent me a packet showing dates for the evals but I didn't get the packet until the day of the second eval... I was a no-show to two evals. Immediately my heart sank. I called VES and they told me I'd have to reschedule the physical and psych, the two missed appointments, through the VA. I called the VA, where the agent promptly told me she issued a request to VES to reschedule both the psych and physical.
VES got a request to reschedule the psych but not the physical. I've attended both the audiology and pysch evals at this point, and spent over 5 hours on the phones and in VA email correspondence requesting the physical eval through either VES, the VA, or anyone. So far I've gotten the following answers from the VA:
1) The eval might not be needed, but they don't know if it's not needed or needed and not scheduled. I can't correspond with the authority that would know or determine, and no one can consult with them on my behalf. Wait. Have faith. It's possible that they will make a determination based solely on my service record and not evidence arising in the past decade.
2) VES never submitted that the original physical appt was missed; therefore, it is required that VES send an appropriately formatted message for the VA to request a reschedule. I called VES and ended up talking to a VES Veteran's Liaison who told me unequivocally that he was looking at the message and message log they submitted on an exact date and time to the appropriate VA receiver. The same VES liaison told me that I should think about contacting the Office of Congressional and Legislative Affairs to investigate, as it's possible that there will be no forward progress on the eval phase if both institutions are waiting for the other to do something.
Has this happened to anyone before? Ideas?

🔮Watch : 🎬Transformers: Rise of the Beasts🎬

If you’re like just about everyone else on the planet who saw Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse in 2018 and loved it, you’ve probably been waiting for the sequel. You won’t be waiting long, as Transformers Rise of the Beasts is finally coming out.

After a grueling five-year-long wait, Marvel fans everywhere will finally be able to return to the animated multiverse with Transformers Rise of the Beasts. The upcoming sequel's predecessor requires no explanation, as Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse not only ensnared audiences and critics alike but also caught a prestigious Oscar win with a Best Animated Feature award. With "New York's one and only Spider-Man," Miles Morales (Shameik Moore), now becoming a household name, fans of the first film eagerly awaited the day they could see young Miles swing into the Spider-Verse again.

Where To Watch Transformers Rise of the Beasts Online:

As of now, the only way to watch Transformers Rise of the Beasts is to head out to a movie theater when it premieres on June 2, 2023. You can find a local showing on Fandango.

Watch Now: Transformers Rise of the Beasts (2023) Movie Online Free

Otherwise, you’ll just have to wait for it to become available to rent or purchase on digital platforms like Amazon, Vudu, YouTube or Apple, or become available to stream on Disney+.

Is Transformers Rise of the Beasts coming to Netflix?

Yes, Transformers Rise of the Beasts is coming to Netflix approximately in December 2023.

In 2021, Sony and Netflix signed a five-year deal that gave the latter exclusive first-pay-window U.S. streaming rights for Sony Pictures titles after their theatrical and home entertainment windows. Fans can expect to watch Transformers Rise of the Beasts on Netflix six months after the film’s theatrical release, thus in December 2023. The date seems reasonable considering that Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse dropped on Netflix on June 26, 2019, six months after its U.S. release on December 14, 2018. The pay-one window usually begins about nine months after a film’s theatrical release, but it might start earlier in particular cases.

This post will be updated once there is a 100% officially confirmed Transformers Rise of the Beasts Netflix release date.

When Will Transformers Rise of the Beasts Be Available On Netflix?

Regarding when the film will be available on Netflix, the answer is less definitive. The first film, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, began streaming six months after its theatrical release. Based on this, it is safe to assume Transformers Rise of the Beasts will see a similar gap between its cinematic and streaming releases. Given the film's theatrical release of June 2, 2023, Transformers Rise of the Beasts will likely begin streaming on Netflix in December 2023.

This tracks with some of Sony's bigger releases of 2022. Films like Uncharted and Bullet Train were released on Netflix six and five months respectively after their release in theaters. Of course, Transformers Rise of the Beasts could have other elements that see it release before or after this tentative six-month period, such as underperforming or exceeding expectations at the box office. Although, based on Sony's track record - including that of the first film - Transformers Rise of the Beasts can be expected on Netflix in the winter of 2023, likely December for a holiday release.

Is Transformers Rise of the Beasts coming to Disney Plus?

Yes, Transformers Rise of the Beasts is also coming to Disney Plus approximately in 2025.

Once the pay-one window runs its time and Netflix’s exclusive rights expire, Transformers Rise of the Beasts will be available on Disney Plus. The pay-one window might last as long as 18 months, which means it will be a while before Disney Plus subscribers can watch the much-anticipated sequel. Unlike in other countries, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse isn’t yet available on the Disney-owned streamer in the U.S.

American fans will have to wait until 2024 to watch Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and at least until 2025 for its sequel. We will update this post once there is an official Transformers Rise of the Beasts Disney Plus release date.

Transformers Rise of the Beasts comes from a joint effort of directors Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson. The movie will swing into theaters on June 2, featuring the return of Shameik Moore as Miles Morales, Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy, and Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker, among others.

Will Transformers Rise of the Beasts Be On HBO Max?

No, Transformers Rise of the Beasts will not be on HBO Max since it’s not a Universal Pictures movie. Last year, the company released its films in theaters and on the streamer on the same day. However, they now allow a 45-day window between the theatrical release and the streaming release.

Is Transformers Rise of the Beasts Available On Hulu?

Viewers are saying that they want to view the new animation movie Transformers Rise of the Beasts on Hulu. Unfortunately, this is not possible since Hulu currently does not offer any of the free episodes of this series streaming at this time. It will be exclusive to the MTV channel, which you get by subscribing to cable or satellite TV services. You will not be able to watch it on Hulu or any other free streaming service.

How to Watch Transformers Rise of the Beasts Online For Free?

There are a few ways to watch Transformers Rise of the Beasts online in the U.S. You can use a streaming service such as Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon Prime Video. You can also rent or buy the movie on iTunes or Google Play. You can also watch it on-demand or on a streaming app available on your TV or streaming device if you have cable.

2023.06.08 20:21 VideoGameChronology Security Breach Is Likely Later Than We Think

Currently making my FNAF Timeline but I haven't been using a lot of years or times of events mainly because we don't know certain times and also because everything after UCN complicates the timeline, a lot, and a lot of that is because of the FF books. But I think I figured out the earliest possible time everything occurs and the correct order of when everything from UCN onwards happens.
In The Man in Room 1280, we know he wasn't there for longer than 10 years as Heracles Hospital only existed the last 10 years but we know he was there more than 1 year after FFPS. This means TMIR1280 can be anywhere from 2025 to 2033. After this story, the agony of Andrew infects tons of animatronics and toys. This includes Fetch, Ella, Plushtrap Chaser, and Foxy from Steo Closer. This means all 4 of those stories must be AFTER The Man In Room 1280 but when? Also, this story is in Fall.
Well, Fetch is our key here. Greg is 14 in this story and has never heard of Freddy's and he's been in this town since 1st grade with the Freddy's there already closed down. This means, at the very least, the place has been closed for 7 years. This isn't some old pizzeria though, it's one that opened after TMIR1280 as Fetch is there infected by Andrew meaning this story, at earliest, happens in 2032, and that's assuming these Freddy's locations lasted less than a year. The Ultimate Guide claims Fetch has in Freddy's for at least 10 years, so, I'm gonna say Freddy's was opened for 3 years after TMIR1280 and stayed shut the next 7 when Greg arrived. That would place Fetch, at earliest, in 2035 and, at most, in 2043. This story also takes place from November to January.
But it gets funner. In Fetch, we meet Jake McNally who some think is Jake from The Real Jake who becomes apart of the Stitchwraith. If this is true then Jake was 4 in Fetch and he's 9 in The Real Jake meaning 5 years have passed making the story take place in 2040 at the earliest and 2048 at the latest. This story is in Summer
Then there's the epilogues where Larson meets with Margie, the woman looking after Jake. Margie has been here for just over 3 years, in The Real Jake, Margoe was there for 3 years implying that the epilogues seem to take place the same year that The Real Jake ends. Meaning the Stitchwraith Stingers begin in 2040 at the earliest and 2048 at the latest. This means that the majority if the Stitchline must occur over the course of 2025 to 2040 or 2033-2048, meaning 15 years.
The rest of the stories are a little more ambiguous with time. The ball put has 30 years of Eleanor's victims within it and the earliest possible date of the Epilogues in 2040 meaning the earliest year Eleanor started her murders was 2010. The latest is 2048 meaning she would've started her murders in 2018, either way, Eleanor existed prior to FNAF 3 which makes sense as stories as Blackbird is revealed to be connected to Eleanor which is a story where the main characters remember Freddy's existed, not a new version of Freddy's like in Fetch, but the older version, likely 1993. Sam and Nole were kids when they went to Freddy's, now they're in college, so significant time has passed, a 17 year gap isn't impossible, so Bkackbird could be in 2010. Blackbird is also in Spring.
According the Graphic Novel, Into the Pit is in 2020.
To Be Beautiful takes place a week before the events of the first Stitchwarith Stinger, so 2040-2048. This story is also confirmed to happen in Winter.
Count the Ways is likely after the chain closes as Funtime Freddy in that story likely comes from the Circus Baby's in Dance with Me that is likely after Fazbear Entertainment started up meaning anywhere between 2025-2028 at the earliest is when Dance with Me happens, at the latest it's 2033-2036. This story is in Fall. Count the Ways must have Funtime Freddy in the scrapyard for ages, meaning the story probably happens around the time of Fetch where teens would remember Freddy's or Baby's. So, 2035 to 2040 or 2043 to 2048. This story happens in late December.
Stinger #2 seems to happen very soon after Out of Stock as I doubt the Plushtrap Chaser would just be sitting there destroyed for years until the epilogues meaning 2040-2048. The story is stated to be in late October.
1:35 AM has Phineas Taggart looking for Ella's energy telling us he already started his agony experiments and by the time of Stinger #3 he has Ella, so it has to be before that. Story is in Spring.
Step Closer's time period relative to the epilogues is unconfirmed but seeing how Freddy's is open at this time and by Fetch it's closed, it seems to be before Fetch, likely in the same time period as Dance with Me. Happens in August or September because of Homecoming.
Hide-And-Seek is the same as Step Closer, it's unclear the timeline but we know Freddy's is open, so likely in the same time period as Step Closer and Dance with Me. Story in Spring.
So, here's how the Timeline might be assuming the earliest years are correct.
Spring 2010: Blackbird
Summer 2020: Into the Pit
Fall 2025: The Man In Room 1280
August/Septmeber 2026: Step Closer
Fall 2026: Dance with Me
Spring 2027: Hide-and-Seek
November 2035-January 2036: Fetch
December 2036: Count the Ways
Spring 2040: 1:35 AM
Summer 2040: The Real Jake
Stitchwaith Stinger 3 and 4
October 2040: Out of Stock (I'm assuming that the beginning of Stinger 2 is a flashback since of it isn't, that would imply that Larson waited months to talk to Margie after saying he'd take the case)
Winter 2040: To Be Beautiful
2041: The Rest of The Stingers Happen After
So, that's it huh? Most of the stories happen after FFPS and 15 years after TMIR1280 is when stuff from Help Wanted onwards happens. Well, there's still one problem.
Help Wanted heavily implies that this FE's first attempt to rebrand after FFPS, they hire a rogue indie dev to exclusively make games on the events that were "claimed" to happen up to 2023 and those are the only events they're trying to hide. This can't be after the Frights stories as by the end of the story it seems most people have forgotten about the stuff that happened back in the 80s as all that happened over half a century ago.
So, if Help Wanted is what started up the new FE then TMIR1280 must be after that as we see people working in the distribution center meaning it's operational. So, ignoring the Frights, when is the earliest that Help Wanted could happen?
Well, assuming that the company started right after FFPS burned to the ground and assuming Steve releases the FNAF games at the same rate Scott did which is likely as the third game gets finished after Velntine's day just like FNAF 3 in real life, that would mean the 3 indie games are finished by March of 2025, a decade after Scott finished his trilogy. Now, let's say that soon after they have the VR company start production of the game after that and that the game Help Wanted happens when the game released IRL then it would be May of 2026 when that happens. Then, directly after that FE starts back up which is when TMIR1280 takes place, a couple months later in Fall of 2026. This would place the ending of the Stitchline in 2042 at the earliest, essentially moving all the years I said earlier up by one.
Okay, so it's after Help Wanted and 15 years later is when the Stitchline ends and Tales begins, perfect. However, one of Special Delivery's unreleased emails tell us that in AR, Vanessa is 23. You have to at least 18 to be a beta tester, so, at the latest, AR has to be in 2031 which would place it 5 years before Fetch. Now, time does pass between AR and a Security Breach as we know the CDs are at least a year before the game starts as implied by GGY. However, over a decade and a half passing between them (as Security Breach can only happen in 2035, 2046, 2057, etc as shown by the calendars) is nuts, especially as that would make Vanessa 37 which I find unlikely.
This is simply impossible, the other option is that Security Breach happens during Frights which wouldn't make much sense with how few people seem familiar with Freddy's, you'd think someone would mention the Pizzaplex. It's also important to point out that Scott said Frights would fill in the blanks of the past while the games would go to the future. Basically, all the games after UCN need to be AFTER Frights.
This isn't THAT big of a problem considering that some people including Larson remembers Freddy's and the murders, so it's possible that Steve has heard of them as well.
So, going back to the original years I suggested, the minimum years, the Help Wanted story probably happens in 2042-2043 with Help Wanted the game taking place in May of 2044. Assuming Curse of Dreadbear is canon and that the DLC releases the same time both IRL and in continuity like seems to be the case with FNAF 1-3 then that happens in October of 2044. If we're still taking things literally then December of 2044 is when FE starts building the Pizzaplex as seen in the Christmas Update. This means that Security Breach, at the earliest, is in 2052 meaning 2047 is the latest the place opens.
This would mean Submechaphobia, Cleithrophobia, Under Cinstruction, HAPPS, and Pressure likely all happen in 2047. GGY happens less than 4 years into the Pizzaplex's lifespan meaning it takes place in 2050 or 2051 meaning that Vanessa likely didn't get hired as a guard until 2051. Assuming she was only 18 in VR, she would be 23 in 2049 which would be when AR takes place meaning in Security Breach she'd be 26 which is reasonable. AR being in 2049 makes the start of the therapy tapes in 2050 or 2051 and I think a year or 2 is enough time for Vanessa to get closer with Luis and Luis to switch from IT to Marketing Department.
During that from when Vanessa was hired to when Security Breach takes place would likely be when Bobbiedots happens, where the STAFF meeting resulting in the death of employees happens, and the replacement of the employees with STAFF Bots.
So, that's what I think, majority of the Frights take place from 2025 to 2041 with the all three indie games being made by Spring of 2043, Help Wanted happening in Spring of 2044, the Pizzaplex starts construction in December of that year, The Epilogues happen in 2046, The Pizzaplex opens in 2047, Several Talea Stories Happen In 2047, AR happens in 2049, GGY happens in 2050 or 2051, Vanessa becomes Security in 2051, and Security Breach happens in 2052.

2023.06.08 20:20 troysnew Comprehensive List of Changes I would like to see before Season 1.

As an avid gamer and dedicated member of this community, I've been fortunate enough to delve deep into this enthralling game, relishing the experiences, adventures, and intricate game mechanics that Blizzard thoughtfully crafted. Currently playing as a level 75 rogue, and coordinating closely with my guild mates, we represent all of the classes, from level 70s to 80s.
I want to begin by acknowledging the fantastic work Blizzard has done thus far. Despite a few server issues and minor bugs, which are inevitable given the complexity of game development, the overall quality, enjoyment, and immersion that the game provides is truly exceptional. The gameplay is captivating, the lore engaging, and the design exquisite. I'm having a blast, and I'm truly appreciative of the talent and dedication that has been put into creating this experience.
Drawing upon my insights from countless hours of gameplay, extensive collaborations with my guild, and my enthusiasm for the potential of this game, I've compiled a list of suggestions that I believe could further enrich our experiences. These suggestions are grounded in the philosophy of "low effort, high return," aimed to boost the game's functionality and immersive qualities, without overtaxing your development resources.
These are not criticisms, rather, they are contributions from passionate gamers who wish to contribute to the ongoing success and evolution of this game we have all come to love. I genuinely believe that these additions and tweaks could bolster the enjoyment and satisfaction of players and solidify a promising future for the game as we approach the start of season one.

No conference titles? Navy’s bad! Kidding of course, they didn’t have a chance to win any as an independent until 2015 when they joined the AAC. As you can see on the list above, Navy’s clearly had some bad years, with a whopping 14 seasons of 3 or less wins. To make up for it, they’ve achieved some remarkable highs for a service academy, with 11 finishes inside my top 50. A 10-2 season in 2004 narrowly misses out on Navy’s top 5 seasons because of their 107th ranked strength of schedule that year. Despite some remarkable QB play in recent years from Keenan Reynolds and Malcolm Perry, the 2 consensus All-Americans are both from RB Napoleon McCallum in 1983 and 1985, who finished 6th and 7th in Heisman voting in those years, respectively. Speaking of Keenan Reynolds, he set the NCAA career record for rushing TDs in 2015, accumulating 88 in his 4 year career.

Top 5 Seasons

Worst Season: 2001 (0-10 overall, Independent)
Navy gets a pass for 2001. 2 weeks into the season, the September 15th game against Northwestern was cancelled shortly after the 9/11 attacks. The Army-Navy game was more than a game this year, with President George W. Bush taking part in the on-field coin toss. Army prevailed 26-17 on the day. Navy LB Brian Stann ribbed that Navy only got pregame visits from President Bush and Senator John McCain, while Army received an impassioned speech from General Norman Schwarzkopf. The game finished off a stressful year for Navy, who fired head coach Charlie Weatherbie after an 0-7 start. On-field lows were a 7-70 loss to Georgia Tech, a loss to 3-9 Tulane, and of course the Army-Navy Game. Navy hired Paul Johnson for 2002, who’d turn around the program for good. If you’re an MMA fan, you probably recognize Brian Stann who I quoted above. Stann went on to become a successful UFC fighter and commentator, joining Fox Sports after his retirement from MMA in 2013.
5. 2013 (9-4 overall, Independent)
A season with many highs. A 3-1 start included a 41-35 win over Indiana and 28-10 over Air Force. After losing 2 straight to strong Duke and Toledo teams, Navy went 5-1 the rest of the regular season, only losing 34-38 to a Notre Dame team that finished in the top 25. Wins included 24-21 over Pitt, 58-52 in 3OT over a San Jose State team coming off an 11-2 year, and 34-7 in the Army-Navy Game. A perfect ground game of 366 rushing yards against Middle Tennessee in the bowl led to a 24-6 win to finish 9-4 in Navy’s second to last season as an Independent. QB Keenan Reynolds (more on him later) threw for 1000+ yards with 8 TD 2 INT, but most importantly ran for 1346 yards and 31 TD, setting an NCAA record for rushing TDs in a season by a QB. Reynolds also ran for 7 TD against San Jose State, an NCAA record. Outside of Reynolds, longtime New England Patriots long snapper Joe Cardona was also on this team, and didn’t have a bad snap all season long.
4. 1996 (9-3 overall, Independent)
Even for as bad as 2001 was, Charlie Weatherbie’s teams had their moments. A 5-1 start featured 3 wins over Power 6 teams: 10-6 over Rutgers, 64-27 over Duke, and 47-18 over Wake Forest. That set up a Shamrock Classic game in Ireland between Navy and Notre Dame. A 54-27 win for Notre Dame set a record for the longest winning streak over an annual opponent at 33 games. Unfazed, Navy won 3 more straight including a nice 36-26 win over Georgia Tech in Atlanta. But even so, Weatherbie’s teams
left a lot to be desired. Navy watched their 21-3 lead over Army evaporate by the end of the game, stopped at the goal line twice for a 28-24 Army victory. To be fair, this was one of Army’s best teams of the past few decades, and they finished ranked #25. Navy rebounded to beat Steve Mariucci’s Cal team in the Aloha Bowl 42-38 to finish 9-3. Navy OC Paul Johnson left to become Georgia Southern’s head coach, and would go on to perfect the triple option at Navy from 2002-07 and institute it at Georgia Tech from 2008-18. WR LeBron Butts (no relation to the basketball player) had 14 catches for 179 yards and 2 TD.
3. 2009 (10-4 overall, Independent)
Oh look, one of my all time favorite players, QB Ricky Dobbs. Dobbs was a steady work horse all season. He only averaged 3.6 yards per carry, but had the 3rd most carries in the nation with 315 and ran for 1203 yards with an NCAA QB record 27 TD. The record wouldn’t be broken until 2013 by Navy’s own Keenan Reynolds. Dobbs led a steady offense combined with a great defense (19.4 PPG allowed), leading to Navy’s 2nd double digit win season since 1905. Navy had a chance to tie #6 Ohio State with 2 minutes left, but their 2 point conversion attempt was returned by OSU for 2 pts themselves, making the final score 27-31. A 14-27 loss two weeks later to Pitt turned out to be another quality loss, with Pitt going on to finish 10-3 and #15. A 10-4 final record included wins such as 16-13 over 8-5 Air Force, 38-35 over 8-5 SMU, 13-10 over Wake Forest, 17-3 over Army, 35-13 in the bowl over 8-5 Missouri, and the piĂšce de rĂ©sistance, 23-21 over #19 Notre Dame in South Bend. Previously on a 43-year losing streak to the Irish heading into 2007, this was now the 2nd time in 3 years Navy had beaten Notre Dame, previously unthinkable.
2. 2019 (11-2 overall, 7-1 American)
After Keenan Reynolds left for the NFL, the QB position had big shoes to fill. Following a stopgap 9-5 record in 2016, 2017 arrived. Zach Abey took the majority of snaps, but Malcolm Perry was too talented to keep off the field, far and away the best athlete on the team. Perry had a monstrous year with 9 starts at slot back and 3 at QB, rushing for 1182 yards and 11 TD on 8.6(!) YPC, and was the team’s 2nd leading receiver with 13 catches for 303 yards and 2 TD. Perry started 5 games at QB in 2018, but dealt with injuries en route to a 3-10 season. That led to a mysterious 2019, with Navy picked 5th in the 6-team AAC West Division.
A 2-1 start showed potential, with a 42-10 win over East Carolina and close 23-35 loss to one of the conference favorites in Memphis. A 34-25 win over an Air Force team that would finish 11-2 showed Navy was back to their winning ways, with a real chance at a bowl as long as Perry stayed healthy. Navy reeled off blowout win after blowout win, eventually getting up to #23 before losing to #16 Notre Dame 20-52. Now at 7-2, Navy still had a shot at making the AAC title game. Perry showed up big against #25 SMU, rushing for 195 yards and throwing for 162 in a 35-28 win. After beating Houston 56-41, Navy just needed Memphis to drop one game, but the Tigers won out to make the AAC title game at 11-1. Navy played Army in the last game as usual, and Perry WENT NUCLEAR. He didn’t throw a single pass, rushing for 304 yards on 29 carries with 2 TD in a 31-7 win. In the bowl against 8-4 Kansas State, Perry again went for 200+ on the ground, winning 20-17 on a last second FG. Navy finished the year #20 in the country.
Perry went off all year long, winning AAC Offensive POTY with 1084 passing yards 7 TD 3 INT with 2017 rushing yards and 21 TD on 6.8 YPC. Perry legitimately was one of the quickest athletes in the country, if you watch his highlights he looks like a quicker but slower Kyler Murray. Because of this he was drafted in the 7th round by the Miami Dolphins as a WR, and has caught 9 passes for 92 yards and 1 TD in the NFL.
1. 2015 (11-2 overall, 7-1 American)
2015 was a magical year not just for Navy fans, but for college football fans following Navy. QB Keenan Reynolds was the darling of football, and went down as arguably the greatest option QB in college football history. Reynolds became one of football’s biggest stories as Navy kept winning throughout the year, starting 9-1 with wins such as 33-11 over 8-6 Air Force, 29-17 over 8-5 USF, and 45-20 over #13 Memphis. Navy got as high as #15 in the nation and was one of the favorites to earn the Group of 5’s spot in a New Years 6 bowl. After a loss to Houston the dream ended, but they still had the Army-Navy game to tend to. The game earned its biggest rating this century with a 5.1 overnight, mostly due to Reynolds’ star power. Reynolds finished 5th in Heisman voting, and when he wasn’t invited to the ceremony, people protested and lobbied for changing the invitation rules. A 44-28 win in the bowl over 8-4 Pitt capped Navy’s first ever 11 win season, and their highest finish in over 50 years at #18.
Navy announced the retirement of Reynolds’ #19 jersey after the season, joining a short list of Roger Staubach (12), Joe Bellino (27), and Napoleon McCallum (30). Navy’s 36 wins in Reynolds’ 4 years tied the class of 1909 for the most ever by a 4-year Navy squad. Reynolds finished as the NCAA’s all-time leading rushing TD leader with 88. In 2015 he threw for 1203 yards 8 TD 1 INT with 1373 rushing yards and 24 TD. This was the 3rd straight season he finished top 5 in rushing TDs in the country. He earned 3rd Team All-American status, won the AAC Offensive POTY, and won the James E. Sullivan Award given to the most outstanding collegiate or Olympic athlete in the United States. After the season, he was drafted in the 6th round by the Baltimore Ravens, the first Navy QB drafted since Roger Staubach in 1964.

5th Quarter

What do you remember about Keenan Reynolds and that 2015 season? How about Malcolm Perry? Who was the better passer, runner, and overall player between the two? Is Reynolds the greatest option QB of all time, even over Tommie Frazier? What other Navy moments/games/plays/players do you remember? How does Navy look to fare in the upcoming seasons? Does Ken Niumatalolo get enough credit in the college football media for what he’s done at Navy? What else is on your mind about Navy?

2023.06.08 20:20 concretelove Finally sought medical help

I submitted a request for a routine appointment to my GP online, stating I think I have ADHD oand OCD, and what my main symptoms are and how they affect my life.
They've responded with an appointment for a call with the 'Healthy Minds' team. How should I best prepare for this? Based on what I've looked up about this team in my area, they deal with people regarding 'low moods' and anxiety etc. and don't have any relevance to actual neurodivergent issues.
I'm assuming I'll need to get them to recommend me either for a referral, or to speak to an actual GP. If anyone has any advice I'd really appreciate it - I'm worried about starting this journey because my recent experiences of the NHS have been that it's really frustrating having to put up a fight for the care you know you need (and the symptoms of ADHD make this difficult to do!)

2023.06.08 20:20 Chemistry_Fabulous Advice needed for this coming school year!

Hi everyone! I'm hoping to get some advice on what to do for this coming school year.
My goal: To land an international teaching job somewhere on the coast, ideally in a spanish speaking country, ideally in Spain
My experience: I am a special education teacher based in the US with 4 years of teaching experience with my license, plus some additional years of experience prior to getting licensed. I also have my Master of Arts in Teaching.
I was traveling this past year and have been subbing since the spring. I started applying to international teaching positions in March, thinking I was way ahead of schedule, completely unaware that much of the hiring for international positions was already finished.
My conundrum: I have applied to 50+ international teaching positions as well as some local teaching jobs here in the US. I have interviewed with 5 international schools, declined one offer, and am anticipating one more offer may come through next week. I have also been offered a local position. It has been a lot harder than expected to get interviews/offers! The international position that I think may be offered to me is in Europe, which is appealing, but otherwise, the location seems fine but is not my ideal.
My question: What is the best option to move me toward achieving my goal (as listed above)? Will gaining international teaching experience make me a more desirable candidate? Or did I just get started too late in the application process and will likely have more luck landing a job in a more preferred location if I start applying again in the fall?
Any advice is much appreciated! Thanks in advance!

2023.06.08 20:19 mudkripple Responded to a post on a right-wing sub and I just need to air out my frustration so I don't explode.

In NY a teacher was just suspended for teaching kids about sex toys and sexual pleasure. I do think we need sex ed in this country, but based on the article what she did was prob over the line, so it makes sense she was suspended
But the post about it was stuffed full of comments from conservatives saying a bunch of homophobic stuff, and "thank God for Ron DeSantis fighting off these crazies", and "these adults needed that mindset beaten out of them when they were kids". Being the braindead easily-baited loser that I am, I bit the hook and typed one of these dumb long response rants with links and such. Here's that response, copy pasted:
Respectfully, this is a single example of a someone who was rightfully punished by the left-leaning school district where they worked, so I'm not sure how it supports any argument that the left is "coming for children". For every single case like this there are thousands of cases the other way around.
Both FBI and NIH found that LGBT children are twice as likely to experience physical violence from both other kids and adults, in samples sizes in the tens of thousands nationwide. A Bureau of Justice Statistics study found that by adulthood the factor increases to almost 3 times, and all three studies mention that states with fewer protections trend higher. In fact Florida is probably worse because since 2021 they shockingly declined to report hate crimes to the DOJ.
Ron DeSantis is pretending to care about fighting children when zero cases like this article have been found in the past five years, but at the same time he is actively fighting against a bill in Florida to ban the sale of sex toys designed to look like children.
End of comment. I thought that was pretty fair, and I was never overtly rude or broke any rule. But it didn't matter. I was banned anyway. This one article will be effective confirmation bias for thousands, validating their hateful thoughts and playing right into the hands of monsters like DeSantis. No facts or statistics will be more effective than simple rhetoric, especially now that apparently facts and statistics are banned from those places.
Anyway that's my rant. IDC if nobody sees this or if people downvoted it or whatever. I was just frustrated and needed to type it out.

2023.06.08 20:19 banned-from-rbooks I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream - LGS Edition

Hey there, I’m a longtime player that recently returned to the game after about a 10-year hiatus.
After being traumatized by the experience that is the online discord Roll20 community, I decided to try my luck at some good ol’ fashioned in-person D&D.
My latest online campaign hadn’t been going well for a few sessions after the DM took control of a dragon we were supposed to fight and started using it to awkwardly flirt with the only female player while the rest of us spent literal hours perpetually failing our saves against a fear aura with a seemingly unbeatable DC. The female player’s druid was okay though with her 28 Wisdom, and wearing enough artifact-tier magic items to probably qualify as an actual construct.
Anyway, there were probably some red flags I should have picked up on earlier
But by this point my standards were so low that as long as the DM could demonstrate some frontal lobe development and an absolutely basic understanding of the rules, that was good enough for me.
Regardless, all of this is irrelevant to my current predicament.
A bit of background on me. Most of my experience comes from playing 3.5 in college. The culture was a bit different back then, with less focus on player power fantasy and more on brutal campaigns with tactically difficult encounters (at least that’s how we played)... This will be somewhat relevant later.
Anyway, on with the story.
Our tale begins at the local game store with an experienced, older DM. He’s been playing D&D for much longer than me, and I get excited as we start talking about 3.5. The current campaign is 5e, which I don’t like as much, but everyone plays it and it’s fine.
We start in a default Forgotten Realms setting at level 3. The other players are: Gnoll Rogue, Orc Fighter, Halfling Cleric, Human Bard and me (Human Sorcerer).
We roll for stats, which is a red flag, and of course almost everyone cheats, but whatever
That’s just a given. I put a 16 in CHA and garbage for almost everything else, while everyone except the Bard has like, at least 2 17+’s and everything else above 13. Strangely, the DM doesn’t seem to even notice or care.
Regardless, the first session actually goes well. We introduce ourselves and meet up to guard an outpost on the edge of town from bandit raids, and fight some easy combats.
Anyway, session two comes along and the problems start.
We are wandering through the woods and suddenly get ambushed and put in an impossible combat. They have at least 5 mounted fighters, a cleric, a handful of archers and an arcane caster that nukes half the group with a fireball on round two, downing two players. They also have a ton of cover because we accidentally stumbled upon their secret camp or something, while we have none.
I’m ready for the TPK when the bandits surround us and demand our surrender, which of course we do. They say they’ll let us live if we give them all our gold, so
 That happens.
We tend to our wounds and stumble back to the outpost, report our failure and everyone generally feels like shit
But the outpost commander pays us each about half of what we lost for ‘finding the location of their camp’, which feels lame, but okay.
And then the game continues
And pretty much every combat from then on starts to turn into a repeat of this scenario.
I quickly notice that monsters have widely inconsistent stat blocks. One encounter we’ll fight 5 goblins that go down without a fight - and the next they’ll have multiple attacks, magic weapons and armor, absurd saves, advantage on pretty much everything, 30+ hit points each, etc.
We actually had a combat where I upcasted my Sleep to second level and affected literally 0 goblins. The DM said they worked for a powerful wizard who gave them focuses to make them immune. I then wasted a turn casting Web in an advantageous spot, and all 8 goblins passed their save without fail (except for one) over three rounds
Which is pretty much statistically impossible even for creatures with moderately high reflex saves.
To make things worse, the encounters seemed to be specifically tailored to counter our party. Whenever we found a strategy that worked, the monsters magically either spontaneously happened to have a solution, or the next fight was even worse.
One time the entire party was routed fighting a bunch of dumb melee skeletons, and so I made myself levitate 15-feet into the air and blasted them with cantrips until they were all dead. The next fight, the skeletons were flying.
Another time, the Fighter ate an attack of opportunity from a large Owlbear so the Bard could get out of melee, only to find out that this Owlbear had multiple reactions for some reason.
Our summons would also be turned against us by ‘powerful wizards’ in the area, and on more than one occasion, when we were winning, a group of enemies were straight up teleported into the middle of our group from outside of combat and got a full round of attacks against us.
I think some of us were suspicious that the DM was just straight up cheating on rolls as well, but a few players were unfamiliar with the rules so they kinda just trusted everything. I started writing down how much HP each monster required to take down, the number of passed and failed saves, etc., and yeah - it became obvious pretty quickly, I think, that the DM was just fudging everything on his end.
And look, I’m no stranger to impossibly difficult combat or campaigns - but at least in those cases the DM was playing by the rules, so even losing could still be fun
But when my actions have no actual impact on the outcome of the battle because nothing is real, I might as well do nothing at all.
But the DM never actually killed anyone, although sometimes I kind of wish he would kill me.
The typical combat would usually go something like this: some weak monsters show up, we start fighting, are suddenly ambushed by much stronger enemies out of nowhere, which then either let us escape or just leave once we are dying and trying to escape.
And the constantly making us feel like shit extended to the story as well. There was no overarching plot. We weren’t the heroes, or even important at all, but just a ragtag band of irrelevant drifters barely scraping together enough gold to not starve.
Not only were we complete losers that could only succeed at quests by getting our asses handed to us and returning with ‘information’, but every decision we made came back to bite us in the ass.
One time we helped a poor villager woman find her son who was lost in the woods, only to be hunted down in a completely different province by a band of extremely powerful cultists who had marked the kid as a sacrifice.
Also, the Gnoll had been eating the corpses of our enemies and generally acting like a murder hobo
And originally our party had a problem with it, but the player got very defensive OOC whenever our characters (IC) tried to stop him and claimed we were ‘ruining his RP’. So I think we all kinda gave up and just ignored him.
So yeah, it turns out he ate the son of some influential noble and we were hunted down by extremely powerful bounty hunters (we were level 4 and they had a wizard who could cast 6th level spells). We frantically escaped and managed to find a body part of said noble. The DM graciously let us resurrect the kid at a church, but we had to fork over literally all of our money and almost every magic item we had earned by that point.
So on top of everything, the party was starting to fall apart. The Gnoll wanted to kill and eat just about everyone, which the Orc thought was funny
But it also made doing any sort of quest just about impossible.
By level 5, we started breaking out into PVP about once a session (usually everyone vs. the Gnoll/Orc)
In response, the Gnoll and Orc (who were newer players) started asking the DM for extremely powerful abilities (that were either incredibly vague or straight up didn’t make sense within the context of the rules) or insane equipment that they ‘should’ have because of their race/background/heritage or whatever just to get an edge - which, to his credit, the DM denied (although the Orc randomly found a +1 Flametongue Greatsword in a cave somewhere).
I do not know why I am still in this game. The DM is nice, friendly and has a very passive demeanor. He also clearly has a very deep understanding of the game across multiple editions, so I’m honestly mystified as to what he is getting out of this - as he doesn’t appear to take any kind of pleasure in just torturing us. He keeps telling us that the early game is ‘hard’ because we are just starting out and making a name for ourselves, but it never gets any easier.
I still have fun hanging out with some of the players and interacting with NPCs, but any time it comes to combat, I keep hoping in vain that this time will be different only to be slapped in the face again.
Anyway, I feel like now I know how the humans in that Ellison novel who were eternally tormented by AM must have felt.
Admittedly though, it’s still a better experience than anything I’ve found in the online Roll20 community.
Please help me.

2023.06.08 20:17 Illustrious_Law_7467 Best Army for my messed up base

Hey everyone, I’m looking to find an army that is best suited for where I am at now. I know my base is wack but I was just playing for fun until recently when I joined a clan. I have a TH12, Barracks lvl 10 (soon to be 11), Dark Barracks lvl 4 (soon to be 5), 4 lvl 9 camps, a lvl 5 SF, and a level 3 DSF. I just wanna know what some of the better armies I could use to be competitive in wars. Any help would be great!

2023.06.08 20:17 Substantial_Slip4247 One week on Pristiq, documenting my journey

Hi all,
I have struggled for most of my life with chronic depression and anxiety, and recently diagnosed with BPD and OCPD.
I’ve tried many antidepressants, mood stabilizers, anxiolytics, and others over the years.
At the age of around 21, I settled for 75 mg of Zoloft for nearly 10 years.
Last year was the first year that I tried introducing some new antidepressants with no success.
The trial and error last year led to me, ending my six year relationship, in a very destructive way, and then a woman who has like a sister to me, passed away, and a tragic car accident.
The last six months have been absolute chaos, and I almost took my own life several times.
Long story short, I got back on Zoloft about eight weeks ago, and last Thursday took my first dose of 25 mg of Pristiq.
I’ve had a lot of bad luck with medication, which is why I’ve been so resistant and overly obsessed on researching side effects, long-term risk and literally talking myself out of every option before even trying.
This has been one week on Pristiq and I’m doing my best to just give it time and let go, knowing that I will never truly know if it works for me unless I try.
The first few days I had increased anxiety for sure, and I’m starting to notice a little bit of an appetite increase.
I’m still taking 75 mg of Zoloft as well, mainly because every time I get off Zoloft things get a lot worse.
I just want to document my journey and get some encouragement from others.
The main side effects of concern, our sexual side effects, weight gain, anxiety and agitation increase.
I’m staying optimistic and I’m not sure, but I am possibly seeing some slight relief.
Thanks for reading and I look forward to any feedback!

Swiftie here, need help with my thesis
Hey Swifties, I'm working on my college thesis rn and could use your help. I'm collecting information about consumer opinions with regard to music, art, and music-related art to help me make artwork based on album covers.
Artwork would be hand-crafted out of layers of paper and 'm working on designs based off Taylor albums.

Midnights
It would help me out a lot if you could take 10-15 minutes to complete the survey for my thesis here: https://asu.questionpro.com/thesis-am . Thank you!

John 4:1-45 (HCSB)

Jesus and the Samaritan Woman
4 When Jesus knew that the Pharisees heard He was making and baptizing more disciples than John 2 (though Jesus Himself was not baptizing, but His disciples were), 3 He left Judea and went again to Galilee. 4 He had to travel through Samaria, 5 so He came to a town of Samaria called Sychar near the property that Jacob had given his son Joseph. 6 Jacob’s well was there, and Jesus, worn out from His journey, sat down at the well. It was about six in the evening.
7 A woman of Samaria came to draw water.
“Give Me a drink,” Jesus said to her, 8 for His disciples had gone into town to buy food.
9 “How is it that You, a Jew, ask for a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” she asked Him. For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.
10 Jesus answered, “If you knew the gift of God, and who is saying to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would ask Him, and He would give you living water.”
11 “Sir,” said the woman, “You don’t even have a bucket, and the well is deep. So where do You get this ‘living water’? 12 You aren’t greater than our father Jacob, are You? He gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did his sons and livestock.”
13 Jesus said, “Everyone who drinks from this water will get thirsty again. 14 But whoever drinks from the water that I will give him will never get thirsty again—ever! In fact, the water I will give him will become a well of water springing up within him for eternal life.”
15 “Sir,” the woman said to Him, “give me this water so I won’t get thirsty and come here to draw water.”
16 “Go call your husband,” He told her, “and come back here.”
17 “I don’t have a husband,” she answered.
“You have correctly said, ‘I don’t have a husband,’” Jesus said. 18 “For you’ve had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband. What you have said is true.”
19 “Sir,” the woman replied, “I see that You are a prophet. 20 Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, yet you Jews say that the place to worship is in Jerusalem.”
21 Jesus told her, “Believe Me, woman, an hour is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. 22 You Samaritans worship what you do not know. We worship what we do know, because salvation is from the Jews. 23 But an hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth. Yes, the Father wants such people to worship Him. 24 God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
25 The woman said to Him, “I know that Messiah is coming” (who is called Christ). “When He comes, He will explain everything to us.”
26 “I am He,” Jesus told her, “the One speaking to you.”
The Ripened Harvest
27 Just then His disciples arrived, and they were amazed that He was talking with a woman. Yet no one said, “What do You want?” or “Why are You talking with her?”
28 Then the woman left her water jar, went into town, and told the men, 29 “Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did! Could this be the Messiah?” 30 They left the town and made their way to Him.
31 In the meantime the disciples kept urging Him, “Rabbi, eat something.”
32 But He said, “I have food to eat that you don’t know about.”
33 The disciples said to one another, “Could someone have brought Him something to eat?”
34 “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to finish His work,” Jesus told them. 35 “Don’t you say, ‘There are still four more months, then comes the harvest’? Listen to what I’m telling you: Open your eyes and look at the fields, for they are ready for harvest. 36 The reaper is already receiving pay and gathering fruit for eternal life, so the sower and reaper can rejoice together. 37 For in this case the saying is true: ‘One sows and another reaps.’ 38 I sent you to reap what you didn’t labor for; others have labored, and you have benefited from their labor.”
The Savior of the World
39 Now many Samaritans from that town believed in Him because of what the woman said when she testified, “He told me everything I ever did.” 40 Therefore, when the Samaritans came to Him, they asked Him to stay with them, and He stayed there two days. 41 Many more believed because of what He said. 42 And they told the woman, “We no longer believe because of what you said, for we have heard for ourselves and know that this really is the Savior of the world.”
A Galilean Welcome
43 After two days He left there for Galilee. 44 Jesus Himself testified that a prophet has no honor in his own country. 45 When they entered Galilee, the Galileans welcomed Him because they had seen everything He did in Jerusalem during the festival. For they also had gone to the festival.

This is a long passage and there is alot to digest here. One big point that I don't think I caught onto before was verse 6. It really shows his full humanity which is immediately transitioned into his deity in the following verses. Additionally, what I found interesting was that the Samaritan woman leaves and she immediately goes to tell the men in the town what happened. She didn't go to the women to gossip and share, she immediately went to the decision makers of the time and even more so amazing was they believed her as shown in verse 42. The believed her and their belief was affirmed after meeting Jesus. In Luke 24:11 Mary was reporting the resurrection and the disciples did not believe them. This passage shows great faith not only in the Samaritan woman but in the Samaritan men as well and the willingness to follow Him.

Q1: What does it look like for us to become a well of the Spirit for others?
Q2: How do you interpret verses 22 and 23? Is Jesus condemning the Samaritan practices and forgiving at the same time?
Q3: What does it mean to worship in Spirt and Truth?
Q4: Do you find yourself to be a sower or a reaper?
Q5: This one is mostly rhetorical and only provide a response if you feel led to it. The Samaritans were essentially shunned by the Jewish people and would intentionally take the long way to avoid Samaria, yet Jesus stayed with them two days. How are we spending time with those that society or even Christianity typically shuns?
