I (f18) hold resentment for my (18m) boyfriend. I just graduated high school two days ago, and I feel as if he ruined it. (Backstory) for those who don’t know, you must have an invitation ticket to attend the ceremony, and my high school gave out 10 tickets per graduate since our graduating class was really small. We received our tickets two days prior graduation so we had time to give them out to the people we planned on inviting. Since my family is relatively small and my dad was the only family member that was able to come, I had 9 tickets left. I planned on inviting my boyfriend and his cousin that I’m close with, as well as his mom. Everyone said they were able to attend. I gave him an extra ticket because I wanted his niece to attend, and as far as I was aware of, she was able to come.
I explicitly told my boyfriend that I did not want his sister (niece’s mom) or her boyfriend (niece’s dad) coming, because they’re known to cause issues and their relationship is toxic (that’s a whole other story) and I didn’t want any issues to arise on my big day. He completely understood and seemed to respect my wishes. Okay no issue, right? On the day of graduation, the doors opened 45 minutes prior to the ceremony starting. I told everyone to come as soon as they can because seats were going to fill up fast. They all got there early and were sitting in the front row, and I noticed his mom and niece weren’t there, but his sister and her boyfriend were.
I texted my boyfriend asking why they were there despite me telling him numerous times in person and over text I did not want them coming, and he responded with “Niece and mom couldn’t make it so I gave them the tickets” “it’s not a big deal”. I was visibly very upset, but I couldn’t say anything because the ceremony was about to start. My dad was on the far left, my boyfriend was next to him on the right, his sister and her boyfriend were next to him, and his cousins were in the far right side. (Please keep in mind that his mother and his niece did not make it and that no one told me anything until the ceremony started) His sister and her boyfriend rudely got up and left in the middle of the ceremony and never came back.
After the ceremony was over, I asked my boyfriend where they went. He said they claimed they had to “go to the bathroom” and never came back. At this point I was enraged, however I still had to bite my tongue because my dad wanted to take pictures. Fast forward an hour, I still haven’t received any texts from his mother on why she couldn’t make it, and I never received any text from his sister on why they left early (despite them not being invited in the first place, not to mention they didn’t say “happy graduation” to me or anything) everyone left, but I invited my boyfriend to come along to get a celebratory dinner with my dad and I.
After we dropped him off at his house, my dad told me that his sister and her boyfriend did not say one word to him, or even look at him. (Keep in mind they were only one seat away from my dad.) I was very shocked and hurt, because not only was I disrespected but my dad was too. I confronted my boyfriend with a very long and thorough text explaining that he had absolutely zero right handing out those tickets especially to people I explicitly said I don’t want coming, and that their actions were an insult to injury. He agreed and said what they did was wrong and apologized on their behalf, but he kept dodging his accountability. I called him out on it and he did end up apologizing for what he did, but he did it in a tone that made it not seem as big of a deal as it was, and ended the apology with “it won’t happen again”.
I feel incredibly fucked over and disrespected. It is two days post-graduation and I still have yet to receive a text from my boyfriend’s sister or anything, and I haven’t texted my boyfriend since yesterday morning. This isn’t the first time he’s pulled something like this, on my 18th birthday I cried for two days straight because of him and couldn’t bare to leave the house (another story for another time)
I know the obvious answer it to break up with him, but it’s not that easy because I don’t want my graduation day to be a tainted memory with a breakup. Am I overreacting? Please help.

I always considered myself terrible at taking care of plants, but Iove of they look inside the house. I love nature and animals, but I'm very uncomfortable with some type of insects and things like rot and mold. This makes me sad because this often gets in the way of me being able to enjoy myself in some outdoor setting. Like, we have a nice and private outdoor space that I was SO excited for but almost never use because I feel uncomfortable seating on our outdoor furniture. I bought a very simple reclining chair because I thought I'd feel more comfortable with its simple design: just a metal frame and a see-through mesh, so no cushions or thick wood frame with cracks and nooks for crawlers to hide in. But the second time I went to use it, I saw a small spider crawling on the back, and now I haven't gone back out there and it's been weeks. It's not that I'm terrified, but I just... don't feel like dealing with it?
Anyway, few months ago, I got very excited at the idea of adding green plants to my house and I bought * hundreds * of dollars of indoor plants. And of course, I went against my better judgement and choose plants based on how they looked instead of how easy or hard they are to care for. I'm not super consistent with watering, but I downloaded a few apps to help me stay on top of it, and I've done much better than expected.
Except, that it's not good enough. I have overwater some plants and basically killed some others by placing them in spots that were too dark. I should have trusted my apps about insufficient light, but for some reason I couldn't believe that my new place still doesn't have amazing perfect light for plants because I went from a dark appartement to what * I * feel is a light-filled house with huge windows. The plants disagree.
The very first plant I ordered was pretty much dead on arrival. Either due to transportation conditions or due to spending an unknown number of hours right outside of my front door because I missed the delivery notification. I got store credit for the damaged plant and used it to order another plant (which was probably the beginning of the end). But I didn't feel right throwing away the almost-dead plant, so I stubbornly tried to save it. It is still alive, surprisingly, but it developed a gnat infestation that spread to the other plants in the house.
Then, a couple of days ago, just as I thought I had finally squashed the gnat infestation after MONTHS of efforts, I discovered that at least some of my plants are now infested with tiny red ants. Fine. I ordered new products to take care of that amd didn't let myself get too discouraged. Until today.
I have been using a tool to measure th amount of light in different spots in my house, and finally accepted that the window I was using for some of my plans did not have the appropriate light exposure for them. So I moved them to a different window next to what I thought what a plant that had been doing pretty well the whole time. Still, that plant had some yellow leaves that I decided to clean-up. I went to work at it, and by the time I just had a few dead leaves left to cut at the top of the plant, I was feeling pretty accomplished and proud of myself. That's when I discovered the thin webs. And the tiny mites crawling all over.
I just can't take it. That's my limit. I scrubbed my arms with soap like a crazy person, but I still feel like I have tiny mites crawling all over me. This is hitting at my contamination phobia (probably not a medical level phobia), and I know I cannot do what needs to be done to save the plant(s). I need to carry them outside and spay them with water, possibly repot them. I'm already low-key afraid of soil, but I just can't take the idea of hundreds of tiny little insects coming out of everywhere.
My husband asked if he should take over the plant care, but I don't even know anymore.

I have ten(-ish) Cat5e drops (circa 2006 install) that terminate in an interior closet in the center of the house; 4-5 are active use for APs (UniFi APs powered by PoE in the room they're located in (not PoE from the closet)). No vents, one pocket door, and it’s off a bedroom: it’s just Not a Great Location. The ISP’s cable internet drop also terminates there (along with unused cable drops for running cable to bedrooms etc.)
I want to move this unholy hot networking cabinet hell into another room, ideally into the garage, where there’s a spot 6 ft away (as the cable runs) for a ~10U wall-mounted rack. Garage Rack would also be able to host e.g. a Plex server or a central PoE switch (since today those would boil alive).
Ways I can think to do this:
(A note on temps, and why Garage Rack: I'm in the PNW; the garage runs cool due to some construction tricks and a friendly layout relative to solar insolation; even during some truly blistering heat waves the garage ceiling hasn’t gone above 80F, and I don’t have central AC anyhow. Also, it’s close in terms of wire length. Also also, it’s the least worst location relative to anywhere else I have to work with.)
(But also, happy to be wrong here! tell me what I’m not thinking of.)

They just leave the four dogs outside to go mental. I've never seen them wall them or play with them. No toys in the garden. They just shive them outside 5-6 times a day and let them bark non-stop.

Already had to go to the council when they put a floodlight up into their back garden that lit out house up like a Christmas tree. So talking to them isn't really an option. And the council were not particularly helpful.

However, my Grandmother who lives out of town passed away Friday, and I needed to travel to help clean up her house and make arrangements. My brother decided to keep the kitten for 2 days while I was gone, even though pets are not allowed in his apartment.
The landlord dropped by yesterday to make a few repairs, without any notice. My brother's girlfriend was the only one there at the time, and she told him it was not a good time and he would need to come back another time. He accused of her of hiding something and insisted on coming inside. When he saw the litterbox, he told her he would evict them and stormed off.
I feel responsible for this situation since it is my kitten, so I am trying to understand their rights so I can help them. In the lease it says that violation of the lease is grounds for immediate eviction and that the lessee will be liable for all rent payments due under the original lease agreement. The landlord said they will be responsible for paying rent until the unit is rented out, and he is fining them an additional $1250.
Is there nothing we can do since they did violate the pet terms in the lease? What are their rights in the eviction process? The landlord said he will give them until June 29, but that seems like very short notice to be out of the apartment to me. From my understanding it's also a violation of a tenant's rights for a landlord to come over with no notice - is there anything we can do about that? We are located in Indiana.

So he was willing to sign a paper so I could an assumption but I was denied the assumption and told I could refinance to get his name off or ask him to sign a paper with an attorney to take his name off the title and have no rights to the house but if the house would go in foreclosure (which it won't because I know to sell a house before it gets to that point and I'm a month ahead on bills as a safety net), they would call him. He put my name on one his credit cards that he let go and now it's negatively affected my score but me paying of the mortgage would only make his score go up. As the attorney said, you don't want him having rights over the house because one girlfriend later and he's trying to move back in or force you to sell it. I have to have both our signatures on ever decision for the house before anything can get done. I just want him gone. And I don't want to talk to someone who hurt me so badly anymore. Any advice on how to handle this meeting?

Growing up she was emotionally abusive to my husband. She recently guilt tripped me over my grandmother‘s passing and her not getting time to say goodbye to her. We were inconsolable and my grandma died in a painful way, her drunk crying breakdown pissed me off. I have 3 children and 3 dogs who will be with me full-time this summer, which is a lot mentally, especially after dealing with grief and depression. The 10 days they were just here my daughter slept in a couch. She smoked heavily her whole life and still drinks 7-8 beers a day. They live 2 states away but the surgery is in our state. she called my husband and let him know when they are coming. we were told it would be a week stay for the surgery , I don’t feel like that’s realistic and then being able to travel 16 hours home. Their dog broke multiple things of mine the last time it was here. I grew up with an abusive stepmother, and she’s very similar so i feel triggered by her I am an introvert and would be the one taking care of her or entertaining. if I don’t give her my full attention, she pouts and complains. She is only nice to my daughter and treats My boys less than. Her only kid doesn’t speak to her. Her dog bit my nieces finger and instead of having a normal reaction she raised her voice and said my dog did not fucking bite you, and threw a fit all night.my niece‘s finger was bleeding and became infected later on, my husband grew up with them taking everyone in and in his head he feels like we owe it to them and it’s important to show a Christian heart. there’s not really any concern for how it makes me or the kids feel. he can’t handle the guilt it would bring him to say no. He will view me as selfish or less Christian for this decision. I understand he was raised with having people staying at his house full-time, but I was not, and it makes me very uncomfortable, His father has stayed with us for months on end many times however, I just don’t have the mental capacity for it or her right now And I don’t feel like it’s my responsibility to figure out her stay after her surgery. I do love his father and mother and if it was for either of them I would. I don’t think she should be allowed to even have the surgery while drinking daily. she’s not doing anything to be healthy. I would like to make it clear that they did not have a good relationship growing up I understand wanting to open the door because it’s his dad’s wife but I don’t feel comfortable with it, I know time goes by quick so I don’t know if I’m being selfish. I did send her a text message saying I would appreciate her calling me to ask these sort of things as it is my home too and I am the one here full time, and that being in the midst of summer with three kids and three dogs, I feel like I will be tapped out, and for the sake of my family and the sake of her healing, she should find a calmer environment.

Man is arrested, charged only with felony burglary and mischief. The woman is now obviously traumatized and incredibly shaken up.
Judge set his bail at 10k.
The offender has her name since the state has a mandatory order of protection. Also, his address on the order of protection is fake, and he is probably homeless or not here legally, though the courts won't say.

So a friend of mine who was in the year above me at university and that I keep up with pretty closely online just posted a story of them hanging out with my first ex and since I've seen it I'm just constantly getting overwhelmed with anxiety and feeling pretty awfully jealous in a way. The person lied about a lot of pretty major things when we met each other and once I found out a couple months later I immediately ended the relationship but they kept convincing my housemates to let them into my house and threatening SH if I didn't speak to them, which resulted in me letting them come in on more than a few occasions after we broke up simply because I didn't know how to deal with rhay situation and didn't want to be the cause of anything (even though I know it wouldn't be my fault.)
Its been about 6 years since this all happened and we've completely stopped interacting in anyway, I've still got them blocked on everything and most of my friends have too, but I've reached a point where I don't hold any specific ill feeling towards them beyond acknowledging that it really hurt me. I don't even know if my friend, who admittedly isn't someone that I hang out with all the time or assume that they keep me in mind beyond our interactions, knows what happened or who they are even, but to my understanding they go to similar events and both live around the same city. Since that relationship I've had a long term relationship which for the sake of brevity I'll say left me with a lot more trauma and feelings of insecurity that has made it really hard for me to even leave the house a lot of times never mind how hard it is for me to socialise even with people that are really close friends, so I don't know that how I feel today is about either of the 2 people as it is just seeing other people being able to socialise and do things together when I find it near impossible to even feel like people like being around me at all.
I don't feel angry at anyone involved about this, like I say I don't even know if my friend realises who they are and even if they did I don't think that I'm entitled to decide who they hang out with, I guess it just piles on to the feelings I already have from both relationships and my brain knowing the best way to twist the situation into something that will make me feel as bad as possible. I know that I can't help having anxiety or depressive thoughts and I'm absolutely not planning on even mentioning it to him since that's obviously overstepping whatever bounds we have, I guess I just surprised myself with how quickly I went from feeling fine to completely hopeless and insignificant just from seeing that they were hanging out together.

Background: Back in March, I called in a noise complaint against a neighbor - a bar near my house. The cops showed up, checked the sound levels and wrote the bar a ticket. This has been an ongoing issue. The bar opened after my wife and I bought our house. It became obnoxiously loud about a year later, during peak COVID when it shifted from speak-easy to nightclub vibes. Barely a month after receiving the the aforementioned ticket, the bar hosted a car meetup where attendees did donuts, burnouts and power slides for hours. I’ve met with the owner and asked if he can keep it down since his business is barely 250 feet from my infant daughter‘s bedroom, but I understand that we have different priorities.
My question is this: What should I do to prepare? I have a recording from the night in question (and from other nights), but what am I supposed to do with it? Do I play it for the judge? Am I going to be questioned? Should I call the court for more information?

So..I have one of those clients in which i'm already telling myself "never again"...and I almost didn't accept but it was very last minute and a half mile from my house so I took a chance.
It's a drop-in twice-per-day visit for four days (I'm in day two now). The situation is that they are remodeling a house so it's literally torn apart and the only running water they have is in the bathrooms. They warned me it was a mess but I assumed they meant a mess in terms of things torn apart etc. What I discovered was that on top of expected construction disarray, the house is incredibly sloppy, dirty, and frankly just gross.
The dog, a sweet malamute, stays behind a baby gate in a large random room. They warned me that she must stay in there so she doesn't "get into anything"...but holy cow...when I show up the first day, the room she's staying in is full of crap!! Plenty to get into already! There's random unused food packages, like ramen noodles and cereal, boxes of surgical gloves, spray bottles of cleaning supplies, sponges, screws, wrappers, plastic random items...etc etc. This stuff is strewn all over the floor where this dog is living. There's no shelves or furniture or anyplace to put it. Picture large carpeted room with no furniture and stuff all over the floor. And even if their was a place to move it off the ground, it would take a few hours to do so and I'm not being paid for that. Even if I was, not sure I'd wanna take it on.
Sure enough, each visit, I'm seeing that the dog is ripping into food boxes and other items. I saw the box of gloves was ripped open and gloves everywhere. Very dangerous if a dog eats those. My dog would if she had access! I sent a message to the owners letting them know the dog is getting into things but I didn't know how to approach since there was not place to put the items and no spare room for the dog that wasn't also full of stuff. (My note was very cordial and professional!). Seriously, even if I wanted to move the stuff out or move the dog to another room, I wouldn't have any place to choose because the entire house is this way. It's incredibly daunting. Anyway, I'm worried about the dog eating a foreign object but I feel like my hands are tied here. I have warned them and not sure what else I can do. They have not responded yet to my text about my concerns whereas normally they respond right away with thanks you and happy face emojis.
The dog is 10 years old and they have had her since she was a puppy, so I'm assuming they know their dog well enough to know how she is with having access to this kind of thing...but you never know how people are. I really don't like drop-ins for dogs beyond a day or two so that's the other issue. I'm thinking about turning those jobs down because that's just too long for many dogs to not get attention...but that's another post for another day I guess.

It's a drop-in twice-per-day visit for four days (I'm in day two now). The situation is that they are remodeling a house so it's literally torn apart and the only running water they have is in the bathrooms. They warned me it was a mess but I assumed they meant a mess in terms of things torn apart etc. What I discovered was that on top of expected construction disarray, the house is incredibly sloppy, dirty, and frankly just gross.
The dog, a sweet malamute, stays behind a baby gate in a large random room. They warned me that she must stay in there so she doesn't "get into anything"...but holy cow...when I show up the first day, the room she's staying in is full of crap!! Plenty to get into already! Hello All, I am writing to see if anyone would be willing to help my wife and I repair our house. We had extensive damage in the recent storms in Santa Cruz and have received very little from our insurance and FEMA and SBA have both declined coverage (we do have an appeal in process for FEMA). Our house flooded due to the immense rain we received and we are looking at a large amount of work needing to be done both in and outside the house. I have started some of the work myself and will require professional help to regrade the area next to the house to prevent this issue from happening again. I work full time and my wife was laid off her teaching fob a few months ago, we just don't have the capital stored to get the work done/started and with us being single income I cannot save enough to move forward on what I have already started. I (f18) hold resentment for my (18m) boyfriend. I just graduated high school two days ago, and I feel as if he ruined it. (Backstory) for those who don’t know, you must have an invitation ticket to attend the ceremony, and my high school gave out 10 tickets per graduate since our graduating class was really small. We received our tickets two days prior graduation so we had time to give them out to the people we planned on inviting. Since my family is relatively small and my dad was the only family member that was able to come, I had 9 tickets left. I planned on inviting my boyfriend and his cousin that I’m close with, as well as his mom. Everyone said they were able to attend. I gave him an extra ticket because I wanted his niece to attend, and as far as I was aware of, she was able to come.
I explicitly told my boyfriend that I did not want his sister (niece’s mom) or her boyfriend (niece’s dad) coming, because they’re known to cause issues and their relationship is toxic (that’s a whole other story) and I didn’t want any issues to arise on my big day. He completely understood and seemed to respect my wishes. Okay no issue, right? On the day of graduation, the doors opened 45 minutes prior to the ceremony starting. I told everyone to come as soon as they can because seats were going to fill up fast. They all got there early and were sitting in the front row, and I noticed his mom and niece weren’t there, but his sister and her boyfriend were.
I texted my boyfriend asking why they were there despite me telling him numerous times in person and over text I did not want them coming, and he responded with “Niece and mom couldn’t make it so I gave them the tickets” “it’s not a big deal”. I was visibly very upset, but I couldn’t say anything because the ceremony was about to start. My dad was on the far left, my boyfriend was next to him on the right, his sister and her boyfriend were next to him, and his cousins were in the far right side. (Please keep in mind that his mother and his niece did not make it and that no one told me anything until the ceremony started) His sister and her boyfriend rudely got up and left in the middle of the ceremony and never came back.
After the ceremony was over, I asked my boyfriend where they went. He said they claimed they had to “go to the bathroom” and never came back. At this point I was enraged, however I still had to bite my tongue because my dad wanted to take pictures. Fast forward an hour, I still haven’t received any texts from his mother on why she couldn’t make it, and I never received any text from his sister on why they left early (despite them not being invited in the first place, not to mention they didn’t say “happy graduation” to me or anything) everyone left, but I invited my boyfriend to come along to get a celebratory dinner with my dad and I.
After we dropped him off at his house, my dad told me that his sister and her boyfriend did not say one word to him, or even look at him. (Keep in mind they were only one seat away from my dad.) I was very shocked and hurt, because not only was I disrespected but my dad was too. I confronted my boyfriend with a very long and thorough text explaining that he had absolutely zero right handing out those tickets especially to people I explicitly said I don’t want coming, and that their actions were an insult to injury. He agreed and said what they did was wrong and apologized on their behalf, but he kept dodging his accountability. I called him out on it and he did end up apologizing for what he did, but he did it in a tone that made it not seem as big of a deal as it was, and ended the apology with “it won’t happen again”.
I feel incredibly fucked over and disrespected. It is two days post-graduation and I still have yet to receive a text from my boyfriend’s sister or anything, and I haven’t texted my boyfriend since yesterday morning. This isn’t the first time he’s pulled something like this, on my 18th birthday I cried for two days straight because of him and couldn’t bare to leave the house (another story for another time)
I know the obvious answer it to break up with him, but it’s not that easy because I don’t want my graduation day to be a tainted memory with a breakup. Am I overreacting? Please help.
